XLNT Product!. This program works great. I’ve never had it not be able to scan something for me. I highly recommend it!

Downing my rating. This used to be a good barcode scanner app but since the last update, it can’t seem to find even well-known national brands that were no problem before.

Useless. iPhone 11. Scanner is useless. If it does do a scan results are “...can’t find a product...”

Wished I’d known sooner about this app. I have 4 different apps to scan for different purposes. This one eliminates all the others because it does everything. This app also worked promptly and didn’t have to play with it to focus etc.

So far.... Only used this app twice so far and it worked perfectly each time. I have not read any reviews, I do not generally read other reviews. I like to try apps and give my unbiased opinion. I have tried other barcode scanning apps and I have been disappointed on more than one occasion. This app seems to have potential and I hope it continues to work as advertised.

No help!. Got info on how much it costs and how many bottles were in a box. Didn’t need this info. I wanted the ingredients, safety for humans and pets. Dish washing detergent with 3x grease cleaning power. Had to wash dishes twice and still concerned that they were clean. A portion of this material will remain on the dishes and get into my tummy and my pets. Tired of promises and false ads. I care about our safety. This app didn’t even show an ingredient list. I’m returning it to the store, getting my money back, never buying this brand again, and deleting this time-wasting app.

Garbage. It does not work

Worked for me. I just installed it after reading the crash reviews. I'm in the waiting room and I scanned a high blood pressure image and it worked. I then completely exited the application and tried again and it still worked. Is it because it's the same image? I don't know. But it worked for me multiple times. I would give 5 stars if the app would display the info in it's own browser rather than handing that task off to safari.

Slow, buggy, terrible. Barely works at all on my iPhone 6. Updated this app and it seems broken.

elementary, don’t waste your time. This app can’t even scan anything most of the time. it should first get the scanning and searching right before putting up for download.

Useless. My eyes can scan the product just as well as this app can. All it does is offer you information that you can see. What a waste of time.

Unique. Lots of scanners, but what makes this one special is the detailed product information it can provide. Often, I just want/need details about a product I already own, say for a home inventory list. This app is capable of providing that info. It doesn't always succeed but it's still far better than most I tested A LOT of other scanners before I found this gem. And it does the price comparisons too, but for me that's of limited appeal.

Pointless App. No matter what you scan, it doesn’t recognize the product!

Very Good Scanning App. Good App

Helpful but bugs and obstructive UI make it hard to recommend. I first encountered ScanLife because my son's school was using it on a fleet of iPads to accommodate a kind of "treasure hunt" based on QR codes. Many aspects of the app's design, combined with more subtle bugs that e.g. mysteriously prevented the scanner from working, made it a bit of a nightmare in a scenario where volunteer parents are expected to guide children on a hunt, counting on the app to work. Because the app is so aggressive with its inducements to rate the app, or to share information about the app on Facebook, the app drags the user away from the intended action at unexpected times, requiring that the user discover, sometimes at some cost of time, how to dismiss the intrusive dialog or dimmed-out screen. You can imagine that being halfway through a treasure hunt with a group of excited kids is no parent's ideal time to contend with a confusing "Rate me on the App Store" or "Like me on Facebook" panel. It's a nice idea to have a single app that can scan either QR or bar codes and come up with useful information. The fact that this app is not 100% reliable and also chooses to pester its users with ads, admonitions to review and to share, make it a tasteless enough experience that I would not recommend it to other people.

Where have you been ScanLife?. I needed this app 20 years ago when my kids were home and needy!! If you want the best price and don’t mind the drive then you will never over pay for an item again!! I did not think I would use this much but you use it once and you are hooked! Get the app You Won’t Regret It!

Great App!. Does Everything it is suppose to do, Very Quickly! I have been very Happy with my results so far! I have not used it extensively, but every time I have scan something it has worked Beautifully! It has even on occasion ask me if I wanted to be directed to the Companies Web Site!!! So, all in all, I am extremely pleased! Especially after being so disappointed with so many other Apps, who Claim so much, and do SO LITTLE!!!

The app doesn’t work. Repeatedly shows Tap Screen for scanner. Never scans. Since it limits the number of scans, it’s useless.

No Longer Works. This app has become useless! Every scan produces; “Sorry! We looked everywhere and couldn’t find the product info you were looking for.” Even I scan the barcode on a candy bar!! Absolutely not as gods as it once was. I’m searching for it’s replacement! Disappointing

Fast and easy. Scans barcodes really quick w/no problem. Neat app and handy to have! I find myself using this app very frequently for many different reasons. You can scan UPC codes to check prices of items and available stores to purchase from and also to scan codes of products, the web, or advertisements to quickly review an item or to visit a link. Very useful & work great. I haven't been disappointed yet!!!

This is the Begining of something awful to follow. It's all Kool that you can scan all this stuff and see what it is and what not, not that there is a need to but okay ya know its interesting. However why would we need to create our own Qr barcode for our friends to scan? Our friends know who we are, they don't need to scan a barcode to identify us, we aren't a product or property of someone's. In fact there is no need for this at all except that its being introduced in a smaller way through the iPhone so that he may gain acceptance and Social Media attention that way when they start to manipulate what they've introduced as a ScanLife app as ScanLife In Real Life as the New World Government falls into place, The idea is that people will be accustom to it familiar with it & sadly some will be accepting if it. Getting your own personal ScanLife barcode to be identified like the old social security card and Drivers Licence, The ultimate technology of combining ones passport & all identifiable information, personal information, bank accounts and currency possessions into one little barcode tattooed or implanted on ones wrist, forearm, back of the neck or behind ones ear, or whatever. This is a Kool little application but with foul intentions. Do not fancy it. DO NOT CREATE YOUR OWN PERSONAL BARCODE PPL. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO DO IT & DO NOT ACCEPT ANY PROGRESSION OF THIS APP ViA AUTOMATIC UPDATE.

Data Miners. Deleting this app after it's been confirmed they are tracking user location data and sending it to a third party monetization firm. Never used it much anyway.

Couldn't. Couldn't scan bar codes on planters nuts or tobacco ! From one extreme to the other and couldn't find those codes! Removing.

Excellent product!!. In this day & age you cannot walk around without this app on your phone. So easy to use, just open app & scan.

Best QR Barcode reader PERIOD!!. This is the first out of dozens I've tried that not only works as promised but exceeds expectations. The only down side is I wish more stores made their prices available for searching after scanning the bar codes. Personally it's the first app I tell absolutely everyone to install. The BlackBerry version has problems running for some reason though might have to do with the IOS and sys memory though. It just won't load so can't say if it works!

Used to work great.... Used to be a great app. Last few times I’ve needed it..it finds nothing.. tried with cellular & without.. still nothing. Sorely disappointed & sorry to see it go. Not keeping on my phone anymore, deleting today.

great 2D scanning tool. This is a great 2D scanning tool which takes you to the URL in the 2D barcode and stores the scan history. It would be nice to see the raw text of the barcode.

Average. No good for close up small QRs of 45px. The camera control in the app doesn't focus. If that was fixed it would probably be ok.

Did not work for anything. Tried Coke, Pepsi, Jim Bean and Soup Mix, did not know ANY...

Now works, but not the best. It works but it immediately goes on-line to lookup what it had read. This incurs data chrages! I would prefer to make that decision myself. Also it doesn't add VCARD infor into Contacts. I prefer i-nigma's reader.

App doesn't work. Downloaded and scanned my first tag. App then says to 'download app from iTunes' which you can't do as it's already downloaded. Just keeps looping you around. Poorly developed...

Great when it works. Unintuitive.. My theory is that an app that's meant to save time should just work, every time, no muss no fuss. This one only works half the time, and as a result I only bother to pull it out when there is NO other way to access a link... I hate technical disappointments! Otherwise I just use a search engine or (gasp) start typing the URL.

Yay. It worked when I scanned my rabbit food and I live in Canada.

Worthless in Canada. This app does not work with most UPCs for products that are bi-lingual as they get different codes than the same product in the USA.

Code is currently inactive. Scanned the code and was told it’s inactive. I just bought the wheelbarrow a couple of months ago and the video to build it is already inactive? SMH.

Not In Canada?. Scanned 15 different products in my cupboard. Came up with zippo every time but did manage to throw some advertising my way each scan.

Simple Effective Smart. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Sir / Sweet Heart It Works!

Portal for advertising. Installed briefly and it wanted access to stuff it didn't need. The user interface is not intuitive and all I got was a little red arrow scanning back and forth whch seemed more related to the game it was trying to sell me. I don't mind advertising on a free app but make it do it's intended purpose first and foremost. Never got a beep or any indication it acutally scanned or tried to scan a barcode.

Scanlife worked like a dream. Just used it to scan proxyvote.com document to vote on a stock, and it was fast, efficient, and worked flawlessly...enough so to spend a minute writing this review.

Excellent App!. It has showed me the right destination page every time I scanned the QR code. 100% reliable. I recommend this app.

Iphone4 - Crashes during startup. The previous version worked. Just loaded version 3.06 on my iphone4. It crashes every time I start the application. There must be a new bug that worked its way into the latest update.

Never a problem. I've never had any issues with static QR codes and just tried my first dynamic QR code and that scanned beautifully as well.

Neat app, but not perfect. Good idea of allowing the iPhone to scan barcodes. However, UPC code scans are hit and miss. Unless a perfectly flat black on white the phone will not read the UPC.

Never a problem!. I've had this app since I got my 3GS and have never had an issue with it. It's always worked as it's supposed to, and given me the info I've needed. My favourite use so far is for saving real estate info. It's GREAT!

Works, With a Few Glitches. I've just now downloaded and tested this app. I noticed a minor glitch in the UI: it told me to tap the screen to reactivate the camera, but that failed, so I had to refresh the app. Also, with MECARD-encoded QR Codes, it seems to recognize only the first phone number. (It seems the MECARD format supports multiple...) But overall, pretty darned good.

Very useful app. I used this to locate some old siding for my home, all I had was a barcode on the back of a piece on my home. Using this app I was able to identify the manufacturer then their retail store. Saved me a lot of driving and many phone calls.

Has potential. I gave it a two because it is a fast scanner and works reasonably well for that. However, when you scan the products and select coupons, it gives you coupons for completely unrelated products and the deals are the same way. When you try to email the coupons you do actually want, you get an error. This app could be really amazing if the fix the coupons, deals and location issues.

Very Impressed. I have played around with various barcode apps and this is the first one that effectively scans items across many product types and accurately maps to the correct data (or an actual product for that matter). Very good app.

It's about time I found a great all in one that really works. This app is great scans all codes lots of options to look up anything that even other people scan as well 👍👍👍 The only downfall I can say is it would be nice if the app had a light option !! Also I love how easy u can collect mpoints with this app!!

Knows Anything You Scan!!!!!. This app is awesome!!!!! It can find about 90% of the things that I scan! It has a description, prices, company, etc., that gives you all the information you need about that item!!! It also takes you to websites, which is really cool. Very Handy!. I don't have to look for a scanner or a check-out desk at the store I'm at anymore. I can scan most items myself and get the price of the store I'm at and that of other stores. So you may find out through this app that purchasing the item you want may be a better deal elsewhere. Very handy!

Great App! Get it!!. I got this app to scan those little barcode things you see on advertisements, well it works great! Not only for advertisements but also on any item that has a barcode. Scan any item in your house & you will be directed to a page that shows you where you can purchase that item online! I def recommend!

Its cool never seen any thing so easy and different I love how I can get on my iPod and scan things I needed scanned nothing is worse then standing in a store needing a price check when I can pull this out scan it my self and no what it's price is and no if I'm getting a better deal or not

Got it for the points.... I have no issues with the app regarding earning points. Product accuracy, that's different. About 25% of the time the products I scan either are not found or display incorrectly. Very few times am I able to scan again and be shown the correct product. Just this morning I scanned my pack of Trident cinnamon gum and the product was displayed as a 'Last Supper' figurine from Kmart. But hey, the review on the figurine says the detail is excellent! 👍🏼

No problem, works for me. Used this app to test scanning an ad in an industry mag. Worked very quickly! I scanned it twice, each time it scanned correctly, however both times it scanned so fast it didn't even look in focus. Didn't matter to me because it got the scan right!

outstanding product. GREAT product; does exactly what it is supposed to do. I especially like being able to create my own scan icon which has my personal information on it. Very nice...and I highly recommend this product.

MY THOUGHTS ON SCANLIFE. I have the app on my 4S and I recently had lost functionality, that is until I received the update. I really like the way that the camera view now has the red line for barcode reading as well. Now that I have the updated version of ScanLife I have no more issues with the functionality of the application and absolutely love it. The aviation styled HUD is really cool too. Love it!

Doesn't go to Safari. If yoy use this app, it opens the website in its own browser which is a dead-end. You can't do your normal browsing tasks, and it doesn't show up in browser history etc. You can't even see the url or copy & paste it into Safari. You have to write down some keywords with a pen then search it with your normal browser. Its a dead end. Other than that, its quick & easy.

Doesn't work at all!!. I've scanned hundreds of items and also looked at many more under the discover feature and EVERY TIME it flips to a screen that says this is so frustrating, no information is available on this item. I have a connection at the time. There is absolutely no way to contact anyone for help and the troubleshooting doesn't address this issue. It's not my scanning abilities or the the items that have been scanned by others in discover feature would work. I don't understand it at all. So stupid!!!

So far, so.. Not bad.. Only leaving off one star because this app requires that the QR codes be a certain size & require a small bit of white surrounding each; aka, won't work on the smaller QR codes on certain items & definitely not on a blue, transparent water bottle. Haven't tried it on more than two actual bar codes but didn't seem to work on those at all; that could be attributed to "user error"... Or insufficient attempts.

It's great!👍. I don't know why it's getting any rating lower than 5 stars it's doing exactly what it said it should do. Also the app opens up properly, and no bugs what so ever. If you're having any trouble with this app there's either something wrong with you or your phone is a bit off.

Scanlife works great. Always takes me to the right place plus you get points just for using. The only bad thing it takes forever to get a decent reward with your points, and knowing the app is making quadruple versus our earned rewards points not real fair. So if you're using just to get points and rewards use an app called MyPoints, if you want a good barcode reader than you found it.

Scan life. The best thing ever made. I have a huge star wars collection and I'm trying to sell everything. With scan life it helps me post the actual product and the true price so it make selling easy. Thanks scan life for making my job easier.

Only intended for EZcodes. People need to read the description and understand that it is only meant to scan EZcodes and NOT UPC codes. The EZcodes can be found on marketing material that when scanned will give you more information about their product. Again, it clearly states in the description that it is intended only for EZcodes.

Great app. Nice app that lets you scan barcodes and finding the cheapest price in your local area. Not all items are able to be found however but it gives you placed where you could purchase it. Works well and on top of that you earned points towards gift cards or sweepstakes entries.

Great Start. I defenetly like the idea to scan bar codes and receive all the info in my phone. This needs a few improvements with the internet connection and it will be set for a revolutionary way of promoting and advertising products Great Idea!

Good. It is far better than other scanner apps, it doesn't glitch as much and is much faster. Plus you get these great things called m points, where you can (even you save them up) can but things like gift cards!

Used to be great. I loved the app when I first started using it... but for the last many months some thing in the app does not work -- this month it's the scanner but just for barcodes because that same scanner will read QR codes. Last month I couldn't open the mailbox. As a wonderful extra was the mpoints which used to be in the 20 to 25 point range for doing something in the app now it's 2 points (maybe 3) for doing something in the app! Why the big change????

Love. I really like this app, it works and I scan a bunch of less common items(like manga) and it still brings up a lot of options and prices. I'm not sure why it keeps telling me I have reached my three scans a day limit, I don't know what it's talking about but it's okay.

Did it for the points -- got SO much more!!!!. My title says a lot… A feature I really like about this app is lowest price auto find situation after you scan an item. compare prices in the store, great when you're at a price matching store. Regardless of points I keep this app. Replace your old square reader app with this one - you won't be disappointed with the extra features. Sidenote: developers Please address the wonkyness of the "favorites/history" tab. It loves to act up and not show my likes.... Which is becoming more and more of a favorite feature of mine. Especially if you're doing for a long vacation 😉😉 it works intermittently which will do for now...

Reviewer. Have tried many scanning apps before free and paid and this is the best one by far plus it's part of the mpoints Family so while you're using it you're also getting achievements and points! If you don't know what mpoints is look it up it's a great way to earn prizes or to give to charity!

Absolutely useless. It worked once, but the last past 4 days I was unable to use it. My iPhone is definitely connected to the internet with a 25MBits connection and all I get is an error message "Connection error. Try again" OK. So I try again ... guess what, I get the very same message again ... It does not matter whether I am connected through WiFi or 3G. Without an appropriate explanation, documentation this application is simply useless.

Just beginning.... So far I like the app. It seems to give a fair amount of mpoints (which is actually the reason I downloaded the app in the first place!) I'm still trying to figure out the inbox thing though-- I keep getting the same ads even when I say I'm not interested in this product. So, I'm still learning, but liking it so far!

Great app very useful. Scanner works great and you get mpoints which I didn't even know when I installed it it was just a nice plus Helps you find products where they are how much they are and if you can buy them online and we can get cashback

Could definitely use improvement. The prices from other stores aren't always correct and there are a lot of products that they cannot even find. It's almost useless and a waste of time. I also used it for m+ points, and the hit around 33,000 points and then they only gave me 3 points for daily check in and checking my inbox. It used to be 15 for daily check in and 25 to check my inbox. It's bull crap. I use these m+ points apps all the time and now they make it harder for you to earn points. It's ridiculous.

Meh.... The scan portion works about 70% of the time... It almost never finds stores or prices the scanned products are in... What really bothers me is the notifications... The inbox/coupon notifications stay on constantly & I've never been able to shut them off! Months ago I used to use these coupons, but now they are just worthless repeats of junk! Please fix the "inbox" section...

Nice app. Scans most things no problem, wish they hadn't lowered the mPoints on it and it was nicer when it still had the deals section, it'd be nice if they brought it back cuz the app still makes references to it but since an update awhile back it disappeared

Great app. Usually I do not write reviews, but when I find something that works, well, I have to talk about it. This is a scanner and OCR in one. The ads are a but annoying, but the thing is free and works well, what do you expect! It reads finds items I scan even dies books.

Works ... But needs work. It scans well on my iPhone 4 from the Target ad book I have .. And plays the videos well .. But the first thing that strikes me is why does the video open in Safari - then make me EXIT Safari and reopen the app to scan the next ad? My kids could scan if you fixed this.

Very helpful. I find this app very helpful when I'm out shopping for my family. Saving money is important, and this app allows me to easily scan an item to make sure I'm paying a fair price , or to see if I can buy it cheaper elsewhere.

Dear scanlife. Very useful I love it and now pay more attention to things with a scan bar thanks! Now I have tried to submit this but it keeps saying nickname already taken u know u try to take these surveys and it won t work so much for it will only take a minute! Keith Helton

Only thing I wish was in there was copy and paste. Not a bad app, but you might want to add the copy and paste feature for some of us were actually like to get a bit more information on the Internet

Safari Auto Load. Before the update, your QR scans would automatically open in Safari. Why did you remove that? I'd pay for an update to have that feature back. Maybe allow users to select their favorite browser. Please bring this option back and once again set yourself above the other developers.

Love this app. I downloaded this app bc of the MPoints and I haven't been disappointed u get a ton of them and their not only like 5 or 10. You get a lot of points, like it used to be. No crashes. The only thing I can say is it was a little bit confusing at first to navigate through the site esp with the inbox but download it if you collect the MPoints and you won't be disappointed.

Scam not Scan. Absolutely Ridiculous ! This is not a scanner, it is an advertising, marketing and selling medium. I was only able to scan ONE item out of 7 ! They'll tell you this is a scanner but it isn't. I'm 1 for 7 ! Everything on this "app" is either an advertisement or questionnaire about you and your demographics. There's No Advantages in using this nonsense. The bottom line is Don't Waste Your Time ! There are Much better apps in the App Store to truly scan and save money.

Terrible Waste of Space. I originally downloaded the app for the mPoints which were significant at the time. However, the scanner locks up all the time requiring a reboot to get it working again. Also, half the time the system either doesn't know what the item is or says it's something completely different. Scanned a bottle of Morton's Sea Salt. The system came back with a picture and information about a light blue Tupperware bowl! Now they've drastically reduced the mPoints! Deleting the app. Don't waste your time!

The only one I use now. I've tried 4 or 5 qr apps and this one is by far the best. Reads them more often than others plus I don't have to say when it is ok to check. As soon as it can id the qr it does! Others I have to size and crop and then hope I did ok

They broke it.. I think they should call it "SCAMlife." It now only recognizes a small percentage of "QR Codes" - those created by their own system. Since that is only a small percentage of all the barcodes out there, the app is fundamentally useless. If the owner of that barcode doesn't register it with them (for a cost), then the app won't recognize it. Pathetic, really. When it used to work, it only worked under the best possible lighting conditions, and pretty slowly at that. So I'm now looking for other options.

Doesn't use Safari anymore. Before I updated, I had the option of opening urls in Safari. I think it was an option in the settings. Now I have to open urls inside the scanlife app. Once the url has been opened in the app I am given the option to open in Safari, but not until then. It would be nice to have the option for urls to open directly in Safari again.

Great product. Only just got it, but tried it on a lot of products I had around and it worked well. One area for improvement is however the local price comparisons, since, although I am in the center of a large city, it was unable to give me suggestions on where I can buy things locally

Not working. Whenever I scan anything it doesn't work. It gives me an error that states "you need an Internet connection". I have an Internet connection via 3G on iPhone 4S. All my other apps work an connect to the Internet fine. It seems to scan the item but fails to connect. Reasons I say that is because I can see the scanned items in the history. I tried different barcode a and they all do the same thing. I tried UPC barcodes and q barcodes as well as datamatrix they all give me the same error.

Great for MPoints. I got this app because you can earn mpoints with it, and I realized this app awards some of the highest amount of points out of any other app I've used. I would give 5 stars if there was a bigger focus on price comparison feature. It has a decent scanner, but I like the alerts on deals. It doesn't recognize every single product, but it gets the job done. And I'm glad it shows many ways to save money too.

Will always have. This is a very useful app especially when comparison shopping. I have found better deals than the store I was at sometimes when I use this. Usually works flawlessly. Every once in a while I can't find something but I'm not sure that is a fault of the app.
