Kalevala. My favorite puzzle game since Tetris! Kind of a cross between Jewel Quest 2 and Settlers of Catan combined with a true epic of Finnish/world literature. Worth the $2.99 and more!

Awesome app. 150 levels of match 3 action. Create villages and keep inhabitants happy. Watch out for the tar and the "buzzard".

ADDICTIVE!!. This games is way too much fun and way too addictive! I played up to level 77 the first day -- building village after village with homes, trees, bushes and stores!! I even had a swan in the lake (too cute)!!! If this game had 1,000 levels I'd play every one!!!

Perfect!. I am a huge fan of 10tons (or known as Myth People). Azkend, Dragon Portals, Rope Raider, Sparkle, and now Kalevala (The list does go further by the way) The five games I just named are all great games. I have an iPad and recently picked up an iPod Touch 4th gen. This game looks incredible with the Retina display. It also looks wonderful in HD iPad Native resolution on the...iPad :) If you like Match 3 games, this is one of the very best.

On my third game. Very fun with a good storyline. A lot like Jewel Master for DS or paradise quest where you have a goal. Not just matching fast to the next level. More match THREE! or box clear somebody needs to come out with. Like on Flower quest.

Please add more achievements.. I love this game! It is a definite must have if you are a fan of match three type games. Heroes of Kalevala is like having three games in one, an RPG, a Civilization development, tied to the match three puzzles. I love how there are many levels, but I wish that they can incorporate an endless mode option, and perhaps more achievements in the Game Center. This game is highly addicting and a definite must have game!

Good game, interesting theme. A very good spin on the match 3/bejeweled theme. Graphics are nice, with a really good variety of levels to play. Village/tribe building is a fun side "quest" to mix things up. The music is good, though there is a minor negative - I find the "hurry, time is running out" music to be overly annoying, taking away slightly from the overall experience. Not enough to change my rating, but enough to mention that it stands out as very out of place in the overall feel of the game.

Excellent, but..... The only qualm I really have with this game is that it's just so darn sensitive. When I try to move one tile, often a couple will move, or an entirely different one will move and mess up my whole strategy. But I would deffinately reccomend this game. 10tons Ltd seems to be putting out very good puzzle games (I'm also a huge fan of Azkend). Hopefully someday I'll see one based on an Egyptian theme.... ;-)

What Happened?. Yikes! I just removed my old version of this favorite game & downloaded the new version. I can't read any of the text; seeing to buy village objects is impossible. Oh, I hope they fix this. It would be a shame to see a great game meet its demise this way.

You won't be dissapointed!. If you love these types of games like me you wont be dissapointed! I've played about 20 levels and it's only getting better and better. I don't understand yet what I'm sposed to do with my village though.

Love it. This is a fun game. Challenging, creative with beautiful visuals. Still trying to figure out why the people are wearing white hats with a blue stripe. Addictive game I highly recommend.

The Best. If you are looking for a fun well-made match 3 game presented with a great new style, look no further. This game is excellent... interesting story, good graphics/sounds, superb and addictive gameplay, all with a top notch presentation. This is the match 3 I've been waiting a long time for. I always wanted a port of Big Kahuna Reef to hit the iphone, but this one beats that game by a mile. It has the same style gameplay (like Big Kahuna Reef and Jewel Quest II) plus 5X more added in in new style and innovative gameplay content, and a much more interesting theme. The main theme/story of the game is about a tribe building villages and trying to eventually acquire a rare special device of magic power called Sampo. The story is told in between levels and blends well with the gameplay. The core match 3 levels of the game are played on a traditional board where the goal is to clear the highlighted background tiles until the board is all blue, completing the level. Other than just the swapping of tiles to make matches, the gameplay also involves breaking frozen or locked tiles to free them and using bombs to break and clear tiles as well when they become available. Each level is timed, a bird will slowly begin to fly around at the start of the level and the level must be completed before the bird is able to fully encircle the board. You earn a bonus for completing levels with extra time left, but fail all together if the given time limit runs out. At the completion of each level you earn coins for doing well, and then use the coins to buy things for your village in the shop between levels, then build/arrange your villages the way you want. A well built village attracts heroes, characters that you usually unlock/acquire every few levels throughout the game to fight with your tribe. The heroes are all different, all have their own character/background details, and most importantly.. their own crazy special attacks to be used in the game. You can choose whatever hero you've acquired that you prefer to use for each level, the heroes will then represent tiles on the board and will serve as powerups when they're matched together. Each hero's skill or powerup will have a different wild effect on the board to help you clear it, so part of a level strategy can be choosing which hero you want to use. Really cool stuff. This game is not only a great match 3 game, but I consider it one of the better games for the iphone overall. Totally recommend it. There's video and screenshots for this game that make it look good, but people need to play it to really see what a gem it is. Finally a match 3 that has been taken to the next level, imo its the best made match 3 game in the store.

Best match 3. I can't believe there isn't an update or a heroes 2, I look ever couple of months hoping. This is the best most engrossing match 3.

Nice game. Very well done, but it'd be nice to have an update with more villages or something added to otherwise extend gameplay. Over way too quickly.

Heros of Match 3 Games. This is a great game that takes the match 3 genre to new heights! It has an engaging story and unique gameplay for a match 3 game. There is also a neat village system that scores you extra poins and looks nice. There are over 140 levels, which are timed and have a different layout for you have to overcome. But it is possible to extend your time if you play correctly. To clear a level, you just have to turn the board to all blue tiles. You do this by making matches on or next to tiles that are not blue. After you beat the story, you can keep playing for as long as you like! Game Center coming in future update! This game is fantastic for match 3 fans and most gamers in general!

Fun, BUT. The text is WAY too small. I can't read a thing! I don't think the app is worth $4.99. I had high hopes for this game.

Games annoying. Every game they make has the most annoying mechanics ever, they really need to make these games fun not aggravating... It's sad because you can tell the art/story has so much work done

A+ Game. Heroes of Kalevala is an amazing game that has a higher production quality than your typical iOS title. The Retina graphics are amazing, the music wonderful, and the gameplay better than any of the 'match three' titles on the market. The only problem with the game is the loss of battery life and time. :)

Fun&Interesting. I love the village building theme. And the puzzles are winnable. Wish there were more like this!

Fun. The game itself is good. I like the challenges, however I've noticed that tiles move in the wrong direction a lot of the time and it ruins my plans and takes me longer to complete a level. Please fix this.

Best iPhone game?. It drives me NUTS that this isn't one of the top 10 iPhone games with millions playing it. The graphics are among the best, the mechanics and progression are perfect, you can play for 100's of hours and it's still fun. Why didn't the puzzle quest people get these folks to port their game instead!!?? It runs so much better and is very similar, I play this instead of puzzle quest 2 and love it. It will stay on my iPhone forever. Please spread the word that Kalevala RULES!

A Must Own Title For iOS!. If you enjoy match-three style games, Heroes of Kalevala is the pinnacle of the genre! I re-purchased this for the iPhone after owning it for the iPad for over a year. The puzzles are well designed and addictive, the Sims-style village building is a nice little distraction between puzzles and the art style is really well executed. Even if you know nothing of the Finnish mythology, Kalevala offers a satisfying contextual wrapper atop a game that could stand on its own without one. I highly recommend this game!

Horrible update. I have LOVED this game for years, but this latest update has ruined it. It is low res, fuzzy, and the scale is off. I am so sad to lose one of my top two favorite games of all time.

Best Game Ever. This's has been my all time favorite game. I still play it even though I finished all the levels months ago. I wish they would add more and let you build your town more. Or create a new one with just one town for each game (have a series) and then you could allow the user to build bigger towns and have more levels of play. Please don't go the route that other gamers have gone by charging to play. You have a fantastic product and it would only get better by having more.

Addictive. I have been playing this game for several years now and still love it.

Kinda of different in a nice way. By playing the tile-matching, you've gained coins and blocked more stuff which can be used to build your village. Kinda interesting and different, think I will be addictive to it.

Fun, if you ignore the errors. Cute game, good graphics, fun gameplay. My major peeves are that the narrator doesn't pronounce the names right, and they use Wainamoinen and Pohyola instead of Väinämöinen and Pohjola. It's also a bit difficult to figure out what the little villagers mean by their speech bubbles sometimes. All that aside, I still had enough fun with this to give it 4/5. Would be nice to see some of the above resolved though ;)

Gem. I'll be honest. I had passed up this game a few times as I wasn't wow by the screenshots. However based on the consistently good reviews I've read I took a chance on it. I haven't regretted that purchase. This is what I look for in an iPhone game. Simple idea, with good production qualities (not just slapped together like we see too often) and addictive gameplay. I love the Game Centre inclusion, although I'm not sure why I can't see all achievements I haven't got yet.
