Doesn't work. Used to love this app and how the sky would move with my movement, identifying the planets, constellations,etc. now it is just static and doesn't move at all. Not very useful. I am appreciative that the developer responded to my review to tilt my device to activate the star spotter. I have tried tilting it every way possible but the screen & digital compass remains static.

Great star app. I’m just an occasional gazer, especially when traveling in dark areas. This program takes care of all my sky ID needs.

Every minute on this app is EXCITING!!!. You're going to love it. The adjustments are phenomenal! There's a slide bar to adjust the density of all the stars to see. What that means is you get to blow your mind of all the stars there are mapped, (omg!!!) or you can thin out the ones further away and see what's right in front of you for less confusion...But there's nothing confusing about this app! There's another slide bar for the time clock you can free wheel and see satellites and stars move in their as is orbits. Truly a visual to be seen!! Day or night, see how to navigate... There's extra info on stars and satellites when you touch click them. Get your kids on this app ASAP! Thank you to all the developers as many times as there are stars, I love this app.

Pass Perfect. When you try things from the space point of view, this app is "Pass Perfect" by all means. I'm not a space nut, but this app will teach the biggest non space junkie..... 💯

Why am I notified?. I like the imagery and information provided by the app, but what really irritates me is that my icon shows as if I’ve received a message, or notification of some sort, and then i get into the app and there is nothing there! That is I just see the normal sky with no idea of what i was being notified about. It renders the app for me quite useless.

The best. I've had this for probably 5 years...maybe more?? I can't imagine a better app for star gazing and info...thanks. Kudos to the developers!!

One of my favorite apps. I forget when I installed this app on my iPad but after I moved out of the city to a place where I could really see the stars it's become my most used app. I've learned to recognize constellations, observe satellites, notice various asteroid showers, and best of all, track the Milky Way across the night sky. I've even taken up night photography to capture some of the magic myself. I keep the music off so I don't wake anyone. I love this app! Heavenly.

One of my first: still my first "go to". Star Walk was one of the first, if not the very first, Astro App I downloaded shortly after getting my iPad. I now have a good number of such apps on my iPad. But, years later, Star Walk is still the one I normally turn to first for my nighttime sky adventures. Perhaps it's just because I'm so familiar with it. Perhaps it's because it's just that good.

Great app. I bought my iPad specifically so that I could get this app. This app is especially intriguing for those of us who know little about our atmosphere. There are many ways to learn, especially about individual planets, etc. I have recommended this app to several people and they all love it.

Incredible app. I have had this app. For about four years and although I have tried others I continue to go back to this one. They let you know when something visually coming up to see, like meteor showers are able to view and the graphics are awesome. For anyone interested in looking up, I say get this one, you won't be sorry.

Walking the stars. It lets me explore the stars and also get a chance to possibly discover some.

Pam. It's a real treat to look up at the sky and then find out what I'm looking at. There's so much information you learn everyday.

Live in the city. With all the lights in the city, the sky isn't as dark as it is in other places.....this helps to differentiate what I'm looking at.

Amazing guide, info at right time. What a great teaching and learning tool. Now I can really look at somethings with my telescope. The live sky while holding my iPad upside down matches looking up like a window into what your seeing, moving direction, up, down, even what you might see (or just missed) just over the horizon.

Best App for The Stars. Even without internet, you can still locate the stars and scope them out on the telescope. Its a great app over all

Even when it's too cloudy to see stars, or daylight, or you want to see what's about to peek above the horizon, or point at the ground to see what's in the sky on the other side of Earth, this amazing app shows you what's around us. My kids are just as enamored. I've loved StarWalk for over 6 years and it keeps surprising....

Upgrade or take it off the App Store!. This was last updated 4 years ago? Just recently upgraded constellations for 2019? Come on! I was trying to use this tonight. I had my iPad facing north and it kept telling me that it was facing west. I ended up downloading another app to find out what two objects were. I will not download anything else from this developer!

Absolutely Fascinating.... This is amazing, from galaxies far away to 3D pictures of satellites in orbit you can move around and see all sides. It’s a window into the universe, you can see stars, satellites, planets, everything.

Used to be great, app no longer calibrates direction. This app used to be so great, you could hold it to the sky and identify exactly what you were looking at. With some update along the way, when you hold the device up, it no longer moves to track where you are pointing (east, west, etc.). Big disappointment.

One of my all time favorite apps.. Since owning an iPad 1, this has been one of my first apps downloaded. I have kept it through several devices, and use regularly. You should not be disappointed.

Just bought then a new version comes out.. I purchased this app. It’s ok, but doesn’t go further than the year 1600 which is useless for biblical applications. Not very user friendly either. Weeks after I bought this they released a new version that has to be purchased. Crooked business practices for a half done app. Refund for review change.

The calendar is broken. It has one event over and over.. I can change locations but it says nothing about the time zone. I should be able to change it.

App of the Ages. This is a great app! Others try to duplicate, yes I've tried others and sad about it, but they have not even come close. Lack some personal touch. A++ this one, I give!

Greatest App. Seeing Jupiter and Saturn alignment was amazing. This is the best app available. Also enjoyed seeing Santa and his sleigh. Creators must have had fun last night.

Super!. This is a great app for anyone wanting a look at the night sky! The only thing I would change would be that one should be able to point ones phone/iPad at the sky and the app would tell you what you are looking at. Otherwise, great app!!!👍👍👍

Space education. I enjoy this app and my students had fun with it as well. I used it to let them see all the things in the sky that they did not know were up there. It made all the 'things' we had been talking about become real.

Star Walk. Absolutely love being able to go out at night and look where Star Walk shows events happening or just find constellations in the night sky. Love looking for shooting stars! Aka meteor showers!

I’m 61 and have always loved watching and reading about space and the universe, like Carl Sagan, etc. It’s really great getting push messages about upcoming events, and also pointing my iPad up at the sky and it knowing where the stars and satellites are and naming them. This was the first app I ever bought when I purchase my first iPad and it is well worth the few dollars. I’ve enjoyed it for years. And oh yea, I can’t forget the great background music, you’ll feel like your at the science center viewing the stars!

Greet app for anyone of any age.. I had this app on an older iPad and forgot about it. I bought several other apps to get all you get in this One. One only showed the stars and wasn’t real time. The other showed just satellites. This shows everything! The stars , connotations, satellites, just about everyone that’s Been sent up by every country since spud nick, and planets and ISS. You get it all in one app. You can just tap any star, satellite, etc and it gives you in depth information on it I forget if it’s free or not but if it’s not free I’m sure it doesn’t cost much and it’s worth it. An older app but it still looks ahead of its time. Best app for the casual star gazer or Astronomer.

Definitely recommend. Bought it long time ago and never regretted the couple of $$ I paid. One of the best apps in the store - both fun and educational. You can look at the sky, stars, planets, constellations and even satellites, and see what is above your head. And if you need more info - tap on the object and it'll give you more information. Just awesome for somebody who is not professional astronomer but curious about space.

Beautiful and useful. I’ve been an amateur astronomer for many years...this lovely program would sure have helped back in 1959 or so...not totally accurate sometimes, but it’s dealing with a boatload of data...well done, programmers! 👍

Star Amazing Walk. I love this app. We are full time RV and love to see the stars at nite. With this app we know just what we are looking at as we move around the country and the sky changes above us. With the calendar we can see when the ISS or planets will be in our view along with comets or meteor showers. I also love the red light at nite with the sky view. Too cool!

Star walk. This is my favorite app. So cool! The blinking in the sky that you often wonder “What could it be”. This app will tell you. You have got to get it. Your kids and grandkids will think you for it.

I love the nighttime sky.. Starwalk helps you see what’s in the sky, whether late at night or early morning. You notice a bright light in the sky, not a star because it’s not blinking, and not a plane, because it’s not moving. And you wonder what it is. And then you go to Starwalk. They will tell you and satisfy your curiosity.

Go to app.. Fascinating site. I consult it daily to know what is happening in the sky above and below me. Satellite, constellations, stars, planets, objects and celestial news is always at hand.

Great app. I love it. We're lucky enough to live in a country area with little light pollution, and I spend a lot of time looking at the stars. Now I can check so easily what is out there, and find out more. Love the daily pictures, bringing the wonder of the galaxy home.

Fun, informative and useful. My daughter and I use this app for fun and it makes it very easy to find the planets to photograph. Out to Saturn anyway. The included info is useful and being able to change the amount and type of stuff displayed helps versatility and clutter. 5 stars from a long time user.

Wow.. Just wow. I've used this app for some time, it has impressed quite a few folks I know and it definitely has changed the way I look at the sky. Itd be nice to have a notification if a satellite passes over the horizon so we can watch it glide past.

Southern Cross. Me and my Dad were trying out this awesome app but were very disappointed to find that their was no Southern Cross. We are disappointed because we live in Sydney, which is in the Southern hemisphere, so if you can, developers, please include the Southern Cross for our sake, please! P.S. 4billion people live within 9hours flying time of our place, just for an interesting fact.

Amazing App. I am lucky enough to live in one of the best places in the world for star gazing. This APP is just incredible it brings the entire night sky to life and brings it in to an entirely new perspective. From now on my iPAD is an essential item in my camping trips.

I think I remember when it worked.... Would be nice if it was currently capable of identifying the moon when it was pointed at it. Possibly it just ignores timezones like mine as too difficult to handle. Maybe it doesn’t know the time, when it’s told what it is. Whatever. Will just have to find another app that is fit for purpose.

Awesome app. I think it's great they got rid of the frost that appears, but I also wish they got rid of the frost in solar walk as well. Because I use both apps not only to learn but to help me go to sleep at night.

Stargazing. An amazing educational tool but also a glimpse into how God bought this into being. A view of the heavens with how much more there is but which we don't often see or recognise the beauty of the stars and the planets. Many thanks for a great programme and all your efforts. Mike

Star Walk for Ipad - Interactive astronomy guide. I purchased this application for my wife who is a pirimary school teacher. It is an excellent application, unfortunately as it cannot be connected to an external viewer (Data Projector etc) it is diifficult to show a class of 28 the excellent features of this application. Is it possible on the next release to have the VGA output enabled. Keep up the great work.

Beautiful App. This App has changed my mind about star gazing. It's intuitive, informative and interesting. It's not often that an App comes along and makes science so accessible. As a Physicist I'd recommend it to anyone with a curiosity of the world around them. This app is highly recommended for children of reading age.

The best!. This is the best star gazer app ever, i've been reading that you need ideas from the update so here is a few. For ideas maybe you can click on stars and follow a smaller stars orbit, or have the planets moons in orbit with the planet or maybe zoom onto a planets surface in detail. Hope these are good, though I think some may be hard to do :/ hope these work ^.~

Supurb App. I use this regularly to track the star movments for my timelapse photography. Rather acurate once it determines your position and location. It is a well build app. and well worth the price.

Wonderful. This app has managed to impress every member of my family, which is no easy feat. The graphics are wonderful, and once it locks onto your position it's so easy to use. It would be nice to be able to tap on individual stars and find out more about them, though. Mind you, it may be possible to do that but I haven't found it yet.

A+++ LOVE IT. I love this app so much, at first I had it on my iPod 4 but then I bought and iPad 2 and the graphics are AMAZING I love the star spotter feature and that you can plug it into the TV with a cord, I saw this on the add for the iPad and was very sceptic to see if it worked or if it was just so awesome photoshop skills but everything was amazing, I recommend this to anyone that is wondering what stars there looking at, GREAT JOB GUYS, KEEP UP THE UPDATES

Fantastic.. When I first started sailing,GPS was just beginning and very expensive,so I used the stars and a sextant. Would have loved something like this. Working out new stars was a bit of a procedure. Love this app. Would it be possible to be able to choose to see just the stars used in celestial navigation? There’s about 52 if I remember rightly. That would be a great bonus. Thanks for creating such a beautiful app.

Requested suggestions for new features / changes. I would like to see the inclusion of planets as per the exoplanet app and also to dynamically change viewing position within galaxy as per exoplanet app. Star Walk news button with astronomical news would good as would a button to general education type of articles about the history, current practice and future of astronomy including use for navigation past and present perhaps by linking to online articles such as wikipedia or preferably custom written and included with the app. Including biographies of important historical astronomers and their contributions would be informative and the inclusion of examples of "day in the life of type stories" (or is that night in the life of) about selected existing professional astronomers would be interesting. A guide to using Star Walk with Apple iDevice mounted to a telescope (directly inline or offset) would help helpful. These are just some amateur suggestions, however i guess that professional astronomers may be able to provide app suggestions or assistance if contacted

Useless menu. Notifies me about events such as comets, then doesn’t show where they are. Stupid.

The best app in the App Store. I love it! Now, I can explore all kinds of planets stars, galaxies and even satellites in the sky without any telescopes or fancy equipment needed. And I can even look at both hemispheres at once in all wavelengths from radio to gamma, and see all the relevant Wikipedia links and data on screen. I also love the design of this app. It's mesmerising. I could get lost in this app for hours. It's more addictive than most games. And I'm learning something!

Good App. A brilliant app for use with a telescope. Night mode, Telrad, good and accurate information. All the features in the description. The only annoyance I've had is that the search function resets every time time I reopen it, but that is only because I am used to that in other apps and a change is not necessary. Only two suggestions: it would be great if there was the option to sort the search menu in order by things such as, let's say, visual magnitude. Also, if this app was connected to some kind of weather forecast it would make things go a lot smoother. Regardless, the app works fine as it is.

Excellent. As a budding astronomer, this app has helped me greatly in my hobby and has made it so much easier to recognise various star systems and planets with the naked eye only after using it for a few weeks. Easily the best astronomy app out there and a must have for anyone with a telescope.

What nonsense.. I bought this app after seeing a recommendation in a daily newspaper here in Australia The first thing I noticed in the calendar is that the Winter solstice is showing in December. When you market a product in the Southern Hemisphere the Winter solstice is in June, but I could see no option to change it. Then when I tried Help, the instructions did not match the screen I was seeing. Finally, the image of the sky from my back yard and what was in the sky were totally different. Give me my money back.

Location. I’m finding it difficult to get this program to recognise my position.

Breathtakingly beautiful app. Stole my heart the minute I laid eyes on it. Star walk is the standard against which all mobile apps should be measured - good looking, educational and easy to use. I have been fun identifying and learning all of the bright Southern Hemisphere stars.

Brilliant App highly recommended. Brillant app... the red light night vision extremely helpful when using outside together with a telescope. Would like to see the moons of Jupiter and Saturn in the app as well so you can get their positions too.

Great app for iPad. This app uses the many abilities of the iPad tablet to greet advantage. Holding the tablet in front of you while looking up at the night sky and seeing a map of exactly the region that you are looking at is magic. And there is so much information about all the named objects (galaxies, stars, planets, satellites etc) right there at your fingertips.

Amazing.. I frequently break this app out on a clear night, or maybe during a particularly unique occasion like a solstice. It amazes me and my friends every time and is well worth the download.

Excellent design, useful tool. An excellent tool, helpful at all levels of amateur astronomy, especially in planning observing sessions. I enjoyed the "spectrum bar"--an easy to use scroll bar allowing seamless views of targets at different observing wavelengths. A commendable partner to Solar Walk from the same developer.

More than meets the eye. This is a cool app, for years I have looked up at the stars and wondered what they were all called, is that a planet or a moon or a sun, now I can easily find out. So simple, just point your iPad at the sky and it's all there.

Great experience. Many years ago I had a program on my Mac called Redshift. Then they stopped making it for Macs. This has been my best experience since. Taking the iPad outside, sitting under the awesome night sky and relearning all those constellations, planets and stars again. Great controls, exciting interaction with the real night sky. Even the simplicity of planning my photo schedule of star trails etc has been simplified thank to the intuitive simulations of night sky projections and moon phases. Star walk is fantastic. Well done ..Note for other users: I just had the 'not loading' problem mentioned by negative submitters....on ipad2 I went to settings and did the reset and Star walk is back working fine. Enjoy this great app.

This is what the iPad was made for. A stunning work of science and art; this fills me with awe, both for the joy in the interaction, and the scope of the night sky.

One nagging issue.... Great app with one minor, but hugely annoying, limitation: no magnitude indicator on the sliding scale. Once I determine the limiting magnitude, it would be very useful to be able to set the app to that limit before continuing to observe. Much more useful to me than social network integration...

Great, just wish it was more... "Universal". This app is phenomenal, I just wish I wasn't forced to pay for it twice to have on both my iPad and iPhone. It's illogical, they're identical. And so, due to the fallacy of separate apps, I've chosen to have this experience ONLY on my iPad, which is what I recommend others in my situation do as well.

Would have given it 5 stars "and now I do!". Not sure what the developer was thinking by taking a great app and adding the useless frosted screen/Santa touches. Sure it's fun, but why can't you easily turn it off under "settings"? Fix this please! Revised: With the "frost feature" removed this app I upgrade my rating to 5 stars.

Incredible! But.... Very interesting app! Shows a lot more than you would ever think is out there! But, I would love to see many more locations that you can set as your locations in settings. The ability to set a latitude and longitude would be stupendous! Other than that, terrific, informative iPad app!

A Party Favourite. I am quite happy that I have this application on my iPad. It makes a wonderful impression on all those with whom it comes in contact. Good times are had by all and everybody ends up with a slightly better sense of their own place in the universe, in a newtonian sort of way...

Disapointed. I really thought i could aim my ipad's camera to the sky... And the app would of recognize the constalations and everything in the sky... Sadly, i never use this app because its not interactive during night... If the next update could be a major one including interactivy... Star Walk. Love this App for my iPad. Anything in the night sky from stars to satellites is explained. You can watch constellations and star clusters float past by controlling the time features. Also with time features you can go forward to see what is coming or back to review things you have missed. If you touch on a particular star, planet or point of interest, you can find information with side notes. There are features that give upcoming events of interest. Plus, you can hold up your iPad to the night and it mimics the actual settings. They even have Support to answer questions. If you wonder about the what goes on around you this App is essential.

Playful star gazing. As a curious human wanting to know more about the stars in our sky in the north. I purchased this wonderfully put together app helping me understand the ski above me. As I scan the sky all around the earth it became apparent to me that I could learn about stars and planets in all of the sky, not just above my head. But the universe. Great app.

Learning made easy. Great App to learn constellations in real time. How often have you said, 'I wish I knew what star or constellation that cluster is?' Well this App can help with that.

Easy Informative Fun. This is a beautiful, easy to use app. I really like how you have the option to see just the stars in the named constellations, or as lines connecting the stars, or pale or more opaque illustrations. Love also that they show satellites, and that tapping names gives further info.

One of the few that I think merits the dollars spent ( there is so much crap out there).....I have bought this app a number of times and installed it on family computers for their enjoyment....the skies and the stars draw the imagination and the wonderment....what we see is truly the past.....what will come will be amazing!

Definitely deserves an Apple Design Award. As one of the previous reviewers said, this is what the iPad was made for. I never found I was interested in astronomy apps on my iPhone, but they make a lot more sense for the iPad. The amount of information and graphics in this app are spectacular. I am taking an astronomy class right now, and have found the app has helped to solidify lots of concepts, and just to get me thinking about astronomy in general.

Would be nice...if it worked. Likewise, worked for 2 days. First clear night, I took it out and aimed up and after startup, it quit in approx. 5 seconds and has done so since on each retry. According to the icon, there are 2 updates pending, but not according to the App Store and if there were, the App doesn't stay open to allow the update. Sent help request to the developer and aside from an autoresponse, no communication. Working with brand new iPad2 with lotsa memory remaining. Award winning App? How do I get a refund? Hmmm, I have to rate this App in order to submit these comments. How ironic that the rating system is stars... the one star will be the only one I'll see with this App

Duplicate date. November 5th has 2 listings for daily events. When you tap one in the second listing it comes up with November 6 date and time. Is the rest of the month incorrect??? Does this happen other times and this is why I can’t see ISS. Otherwise love this app.

Good app. This app offers a truly unique and amazing experience, and I would give it five stars except for the fact that when you hold the iPad up to the sky, sometimes the view flips wildly around in the complete opposite direction. I'll be looking west (and I know it's west), and all of a sudden the app will do a 360 and I'll be looking east. This bug kind of ruins the experience for me, but it's still pretty cool.

Spactacular. This is a magnificent app! First opinions are this app is super easy to use, the layout is perfect everything is were it should be. This app has many wonderful features for people who enjoy star gazing. What I love so much about this app is the feature of showing satellite locations. It's was amazing when I first faced my iPad at the night sky were it said the "ISS" would be and there it was, cruising along the night sky. Buy this app!

Don’t waste your money. Use SkyView, which is free and much better. Unfortunately you can’t get a refund with apps. Buyer beware.
