Not for toddlers. The interactions are pretty minimal, and yes I bought the full expensive app. My toddler hates it. I found it boring as well. I was surprised how many good ratings it had. Maybe when she's much older? The illustrations are dark and few. More adult styles than big contrast fun child. You'd be better off with a regual paper book.

No audio?????. It is a beautiful book, but no audio. Especially disconcerting when bottles drop, candies fall and other interactive events happen with dead silence. If you want to be highbrow and make children read the book instead of listening, fine. But please, give the interactive scenes sound effects.

Can't write a review. I would like to write a review, but I can't because it won't even open on IOS8. No news of when an update will come and no response about a refund. This was purchased for my disabled sister. Extremely disappointed.

Alice for the ipad. buyer beware! it's ok, but not nearly as exctingas the video makes it appear to be. no sound effects and limited text. certainly not worth the money in this version.

Disappointing.... For all the hype surrounding this app, I was expecting more clever or unique animations, there are almost no sounds throughout the book...and there's no Read to Me, which frustrates my toddler who loves to read it "by herself". Wouldn't buy it again, check out Black Crow entertainment books like Peter Rabbit and the Boynton titles...much better for kids. Only redeeming quality of this book are the beautiful and eerie illustrations, but that appeals to me, not my daughter, who I bought the app for.

Beautiful. Wow. Gorgeous app. This is a whole new level for reading books. Of course children eat this up. But you'll be surprised how interested adults are :) Job well done!

I wish I could return for a refund. I impulsively bought this app after watching the demo video online and I'm sorry to say, the experience is deeply disappointing. Every single person I handed the iPad to tried to interact with the animations by touching them, it's an touch screen after all, and seemed surprised that they couldn't. One can't "flip" pages intuitively, instead having to rely on a clunky-looking arrow navigation. Same goes for the accelerometer-controlled animations, my kids want to touch, move things with their fingers, interact... not just watch them floating across the page. Very sad. Oh yeah... there's no sound either. The illustrations are GORGEOUS but the sporadic big typography inserts are overdone and inconsistent (with tacky drop shadows and emboss). Just not elegant at all. I eagerly paid for it but I expected a lot more, while my kids, even thou they love books, were bored.

Beautiful!. This app is absolutely lovely! A great way to keep my kindergartener interested in learning to read:)

Update Please. I know this is an older app but it needs an update to fix some bugs with the moving images and such. Also, maybe through the looking glass or some extra content like background or history on the book would be great. Still a pretty cool app currently though. Thanks.

Fantastic please make more books!. The best iPad book as far as I'm concerned. Love the interactive physics. Please make more books like this.

It's gorgeous. Such a wonderful edition, attractive for both the young reader as well as the young at heart.

Finally (almost) unabridged. The main complaint about the previous version is that it was highly abridged, cutting down the Tea Party to a minimum and leaving the Mock Turtle out entirely (just to name a couple of the elisions). This latest version remedies that deficiency, containing the complete text - except for the last five lines! Also, there are no new animated pages - the unabridged portions contain elegantly formatted pages but not any more swinging watches or flying cards than are found in the abridged version.

App with potential. Very good story App but very weak interactivity and the fact that their is not a play option with highlighting of the words is a bad oversight especially for this price.

Don't buy this until they fix it.. I think I just paid atomic antelope $8 for nothing. I should have read the reviews. Don't buy this until they update to newer OS or maybe never.

Ground-breaking creation. This treatment of "Alice in Wonderland" is a beautiful creation. It is providing an original use of iPad technical possibilities which will inspire other marvelous works and will help to define a whole new world of literary presentation. I'm delighted to see this new world unfolding right before my eyes. I have one small aesthetic quibble which in no way subtracts from my enthusiasm. I would wish to have the navigation elements (arrows and index icon) less obtrusive. (Everybody's a critic, eh?)

Where is the rest of the story. There are some interesting gimmicks in this app but none of which make up for the fact that most of the story is missing and at the price marked I excepted the whole story. Good look, mildly interactive and over priced. I hope this app will have an update with the rest of the story in it.

This book sets the bar!. This was the first book I bought for our iPad & I was amazed at how EVERY page is interactive! Needless to say after I bought another book & it had no interactive features, my daughter & I were disappointed. Haven't found another like it. When is the next one coming?

Great book, four year old loves it!. Considering a real book is the same price and this one offers beautiful pictures, innovative use of touch that is fun, and a good abridged version that is short enough for my daughter to enjoy... Well worth the price! Great job helping parents teach young ones that books are fun!

Almost there. There's a lot to like here. It uses the Tenniel illustrations. The interactive features are in the spirit of the book. It looks great. The full text is now available (the original was horribly abridged, with all of the poems deleted) and an editing error in 3.0 has been corrected. The main thing, maybe the only thing, now is to fix the "index", which, in the unabridged version, is simply a list of pages that, if you have great patience, you can scroll through. Even a table of contents would be a huge improvement over this. Five stars when this issue is resolved.

Amazing. Amazing. This is the future for books. Love it.

Its decent. I really do like this app, but there aren't nearly enough interactive/moving pages to make it worth $8.99.

Reinvent reading? No, but .... ... this is still a wonderful app! If you can calm down from the crazy video and mega-hype that this has had you'll find something that's artfully delivering illustrations and a story that are as vibrant today as they were 100 years ago. Using physics to make the entire device interactive was a stroke of brilliance by the creators and has made this the FIRST of what will surely be many many books for the iPad that showcase not only a great text and drawings but also why the iPad is better for books than the (now incredibly) dowdy looking Kindle!

Really neat!. This app is put together so well! I'm very impressed with the moving illustrations as I read! So happy I downloaded this :)

I'm torn.... Pros: this is beautifully illustrated and there's just enough fun going on to not distract from the story. Cons: it's super short for $9. I was expecting to do a few pages a night and was finished in two. Overall: The lite version is only missing a few pages, so stick with that for free.

Beautiful!. Hope there are more like it in store

Loved this, but dosn't work on new IOS. Loved this on the old IOS, but the app doesn't function on the new one :-(

Crashing on launch. I've been reading this with my children, but alas for the iOS 8.x versions. Can't read it any more, as it crashes on launch. Any solutions? I'd give it a 2-star bump if it works again.

All time favorite. I have loved this book for 6 or 7 years now and I always will!

Perfect for the Alice fan. I have never reviewed anything, however I feel this app deserved a review. I remember this app being demonstrated on Oprah and all I could think was "I need to buy an iPad just so I can have this!" I am not disappointed, however I do feel this was a little more pricey than need be. For those complaining that there aren't enough interactive parts, this is comparable to a children's pop-up book which is at least twice the price and has fewer "interactive" parts. This definitely has the classic Alice feel and I highly recommend purchasing it.

Great app. I always loved the story of Alice in Wonderland, I am sure if Lewis Carroll was alive today he would have written his book as an app. for is is a real magic, his name should be on the cover page,

Text to speech doesn’t work. Nice app with public domain text with illustrations and small animations. It would be better if it worked with the Apple text to speech function to read the text on the screen. For some this is a convenience, but for many it may make this beloved book accessible. There are many options for the sight or print impaired to read about Alice, adding text to speech accessibility to your app would make yours an option and extend that fun multi sensory element that you’re going for to s broader audience.

Completely Unimpressed. I am an interactive art director and judging by some of the reviews I was expecting to be impressed from this app. My experience was the complete opposite and not only that I feel ripped off for the price. Don't bother.

Missing some things. Though the book is pretty fabulous, and shoud not stop me from sharing with my granddaughter, I wish for a few more things. This rendering cries out for sounds! Also, i realize the authors are trying to save money, but now with the mostly good reviews they should be able to update to an unabridged edition. Especially by jumping on the 3 D movie bandwagon.

Great looking book. This is really a great looking book with clever moments of interactivity. However it does lack a read-along feature that is present in every other interactive book available in the app store. This would be a feature, as well as sound effects.

Nice and yet.... Gorgeous but this is basically an ebook with a few moving things. Think of it as this generations "pop up book". From the overhyped reviews here I was expecting something more tham what I got. Not to discount the beauty of the ebook itself, but at the price I was expecting more and was a bit disappointed.

Room for improvements. I enjoyed this, the illustration style was decent could have been better but we don't have much choice yet regrading various digital version in this new form or media so yeah. What i found lacking was sound effects, why go part way there? motion of graphics is great but sounds would have been nice along with audio reading of the book with a few choices of vocal talents. Developers need to push all angles if they want consumers to fork over the cash for such media, sounds for page turning and let the user set preferences and toggle them off for battery conservation if the battery is running low etc. This is good work and i love it for what it is but there IS ROOM for improvements.

Disappointing. I got it, based on the hype of all media, and it is a disappointment. There is a lot of space for much more interactivity and multimedia. Didn't like it.... Hope to see more books but better.

Beautiful yet (still) Condensed; update is much more stable. Gorgeously designed with a layout that compliments the original drawings, many of which have been animated. Much of the text, alas, has been excluded. The update did fix the crashiness and added some new animations in the already animated pages, but no new animated pages, and still no Lobster Quadrille or "You Grow Old, Father William." Even with these problems - and the steepish price tag - the app is so pretty and cleverly illustrated that I gave it 4 out of 5. Alice fans and those who have to amuse kids and fussy adults will be glad to have it on hand.

Perfection. Amazing! With this new update everything I could possibly want from a story book app has now been given to me. The option to switch between abridged and unabridged gives every member of the family their perfect level of interaction from youngest to eldest. I can't wait for more titles like this.

$9 - Serious?. Don't get me wrong. I liked the concept a bunch. However, for $9 that's a bit steep for something that took me 30 minutes to read aloud to my child. The interactive stuff is cool and all, but not worth multiple read throughs. Frankly I feel a bit taken for. Awesome book at $3.

Alice for Ipad not an Ibook. This is a stand alone app not a ibook version. I read a review and searched for it in ibooks. Great graphics, look forward the full text version ( this is abridged)

Disappointed. I had earlier ordered Charlie Brown's Christmas and was impressed, so I ordered Alice, expecting something similar with respect to the use of presenting a magical story on the iPad. I was sadly disappointed. Alice in Wonderland is begging for an interactive magical experience for the reader and viewer--but the potential is sorely missed. Instead of magic from interactive visuals and touch pad play, the story, with illustrations, is pretty much it. I have no doubt that someone with the imagination of Lewis Carrol will come along and make a great app out of this magical tale. It is worth waiting until that happens.

Abridged. A great idea and some beautiful execution. I'm disappointed that the text is abridged, and will probably not share this with the kids until we've read the original. I hope future updates will include better navigation (arrows are slow, cat-index doesn't work very well for me?) and maybe smoother animations and more variety. And a couple of typos, but that should be easy to fix. Would be nice to be able to hide the arrows and just tap the sides, so they don't obscure the pretty pictures. Will be worth $9 with these updates!

Beautiful but too abridged. This is a beautiful-looking application, and my daughter and I have really enjoyed reading it together. She likes the illustrations and the little bits of interaction. Really the only two complaints are: 1) It's not well-proofread or edited, so there are typos and awkward transitions; 2) it's simply too abridged. The free version will get you most of the book, so once you pay you get just a bit more, because they've edited the story so aggressively. That leads to the awkward transitions, and there's too much of the story missing. Even my 6-1/2 year-old daughter knew that there was much of the story edited out. Come on, guys, give us an update with more of the book put back in, okay? It can't be that hard. Give us most or all of the story and I'll immediately up my rating to 5 stars. This could be an example of where books can be taken in the future, but instead it feels a bit cheap.

Very Creative!. This is what the iPad is all about. The story is brought to life in a whole new way. You've got to try it!

Crashes. With the recent software update, the app crashes on launch. The app developer has a responsibility to maintain apps after purchase, but this developer has failed to do so with any of the apps I've purchased from it. Very disappointed.

Through the looking glass. I bought this book and was astonished by the interactivity. However, I think they should include the second part to it called " Through the Looking Glass" as an update. It'll be a huge Way of bringing sales up concerning this book app. Please do So because i'm pretty sure a lot of people are by now anticipating It.

MORE PLEASE!. My almost 4 year old daughter LOVES this interactive story! It's just beyond cool how amazing it is and to see how much my daughter lights up when I read this to her! I hope MORE stories like this one are coming soon!!

Nice but could be better. Nice but for the high price the full story should have been offered. The concept is great but too much hype

Awesome update!. Good update! Now I can get right in and wobble all the characters around. The kids really, really love this! I agree it would be nice to have the option to read a non-abridged version. But, having said that, this is the perfect length for a kid's story (in fact it's quite long for a bedtime read, at 52 pages) -- not sure I could face reading my kids the 140 page full-edition of Alice in Wonderland just yet. Or if they would sit still through it! This is still the app I fire up first when I want to show off what the iPad can do. Very futuristic.

Overpriced. Kids did not like it. They fund it boring. Take a look at Peter rabbit book.

This is iBooks for iPad. This is the book the they were talking about when when someone said lets make an iPad book. This is a book for all ages. Young and young at heart (corny but true). Get this to show off what the iPad is capable of and to show others what an iBook is supposed to be on the iPad.

Amazing E-book. This is the future of e-books. Great story (obviously) and amazing use of the iPad's technology. Easy to read, and even better to look at.

Impressive. Imaginative and impressive. Perhaps slightly overpriced, but a nice demo for the capabilities of your iPad.

Poor value for money. This book is way overpriced. Take a look a Beanstalk and you'll find a book with far better interaction for a fraction of the price. This book is interactive, but the interactions are too simplistic, they are few and far between and struggle to maintain young kids attention. The Jack and the Beanstalk book sets a standard that this book needs to at least meet at a price point that puts Alice in the rip-off category.

Beautiful. I think this app is absolutely worth the money. The animation within this text shows how we can begin to re-imagine books. Effectively this is a pop-up book for the digital age. In a bookshop, a pop-up book is likely to cost you in the $20s, so the price isn't such a big deal in that context. My attitude-laden preteen son adores this.

Waste. Very disappointed. Bought the app which wasn't cheap. But it has not opened. A waste of money!!

Disappointed. Really disappointed by this. Does not live up to the hype. Offers very little beyond the printed book. Other kids book apps put it in the shade.

Not what I had hoped. This is far from an exciting Ebook especially for the price and the hype. Look at Peter Rabbit or Our Choice- now they are genuinely interactive, very slick and fabulous. This one is not.

Broken in iOS 8. Crashes shortly after startup on an iOS 8 iPad 4. Consistently. Currently completely broken.

Beautiful. I have been reading the full version and I love it. Not enough animations and illustrations to distract, but enough that it enhances the story beautifully. I also love the "old styled" background for the pages. A wonderful treat!

NOT AS GOOD AS.... Where exactly are the 250 pages? I can't access beyond the 52!

Beautiful illustration and animation, but needs a reading option. First, the illustration and animation of this app are absolutely beautiful. Well done. My daughter is 3 and cannot read it by herself yet. Can the author of this app add an option so that it would read out loud itself to children? Thanks.

Not working anymore with IOS8. Very nice book when it works, as previous review mention it crash every time you want to open the app. Totally useless until they make an update.

Beautiful, but disappointed…. Thought this would be a huge step up from the free Lite version and while there is more - it doesn't seem like the $8.99 spent bought a ton of extra content. My daughter was very disappointed at how condensed this abridged version was.

What a disappointment. This app was really over-hypped… I was expecting more - especially some sound. Not worth the price. Peter Rabbit is much more delightful.

Is there a sequel?. I love it so much, is there a interactive version of Alice through the looking glass? Just add a better index for unabridged and were all set!

No read to me!. Everything about this is beautiful. However it doesn't have a read to me option. For the price I thought it should. My 5 year old wants this and she want it to read to her, and so do I in the car!

Expansive does not mean good.. It is ok but does not worth the money at all. Comparing to iReading's Pinocchio, which I gave 5 star, or to MeeGenius, this one deserves two star.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A delight.. I very much enjoyed the original illustrations! The added bonus of the animations was a plus.

Dissapointing. With an abbreviated story and not particularly immmersive interaction this seems much more like 1.99 than 7.99.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!. So full of magic and wonder. I've always loved the story of Alice in Wonderland. The pictures are so interactive!! I recommend this to anyone who wants to read a classic book with an awe-inspiring twist.

Does not work. Does not work on my latest iPad mini 3. Wrote to developer several times - no support or any responce.

Well worth every penny. I forgot what I paid for this book, but if I ever want to impress kids and adults alike, this is what I show them. The illustrations are gorgeous, the interactive pages are engaging and the story true to Louis Carrol.

Does not work on iPad Air iOS.8. Money back, please. Non-working app.

Apple should remove from store. Doesn't work on iOS 8. Apple should remove this from the store and prevent more people from wasting their money!

Won't open.. Tried to delete and redownload 5 times. Owner of app does not have one comment to explain. Is a fix in the works or did I just get robbed
