Great App!!. This is, exactly, the app I was looking for. I looked through a ton of budgeting apps before I found this one and it was worth the wait. The user guide on the website was very helpful and I would recommend reading it before trying to figure everything out on your own. Thanks for a great app!

Great app. This is one of those apps that needs more of a spotlight. After looking t and trying several budget apps, I came across this app close to the bottom of he list. I love the PDF user guide. Very helpful in understanding the program. I wanted an envelope app that let me have accounts. This app is perfect, I can set up my envelopes and know exactly how much money I have left. The app allows for reaccuring transactions and scheduling payments in the future (like for upcoming bills). There is a slight learning curve for navigation around it but it is a powerful software. The only this it is missing is a built in calculator. Other then that the app is perfect. iPad friendly version and iCloud sync would be nice. It does have Dropbox sync. This works well for backing up or changing between devices. Or you can use the auto sync (have to have service to enter items however). Again, great program for anyone wanting to use an electronic envelope service. I use it daily and it works awesome.

PERFECT APP. I had been withholding my review waiting on an update that would allow syncing between devices, and as promised via email by the developer, it's here and works perfectly! That one update took this app from great status to perfect. I use it extensively. I mentioned that the developer took the time to personally respond to my request for an update, but he also emailed periodically (unprompted) to give me status updates, and finally to let me know that the update was available. Can you really find better??? HIGHLY RECOMMEND Works perfectly for those following a Dave Ramsey program.

Love it!!!. I have spent several days trying different budget apps and finally stumbled on this one! I have been following the Dave Ramsey envelope idea for several years but this incorporates that and much much more. I have also been looking for something that follows a budget weekly instead of only monthly ... This allows weekly budgeting with the bonus of looking ahead too. These 2 needs were met with this app. The PDF was very easy to follow. I can't wait to start using this daily... I wont even need my checkbook anymore! Great app. Great price.

ivelopes. Best 2.99 I have ever spent. I started using the envelope system in Dec 2009. I really wanted a way to track how much I had left in each envelope. This program allows me to do that. For instance, if I allow 60.00 each week for gas. I start with 240 in my ivelope. Lets say I go to Costco and get gas. I click on Quick entry, withdrawal, enter the amount I paid for the gas, the date, the status and which envelope I want the funds to come out of. Save it, and it subtracts that amount from your budgeted money. Couldn't be easier. Also, the support I received from the company was incredible. They were very responsive to my questions. I had trouble downloading the pdf users guide, let them know, and they sent it to me via email in an attachment. I might add that the users guide if very straight foward. Changes I would like to see is a way to sync the program with my computer. But that is definitely not a deal breaker for me. Thanks Mel

IVelope. I just purchased this and was super excited. Printed out the 47 page manual to get started and the app will not open. It’s frustrating.

iVelopes - automates a solid budgeting system. I used to employ the envelope system on a spreadsheet, but it was very tedious and there was no easy way to accumulate money in the envelopes. iVelopes solves this problem and shows you where your money is NOW and helps you to avoid financial surprises down the road. Regarding another reviewer's complaint about a lack of documentation, if you open the .PDF manual from the developer's site and go through it step by step as you set up your accounts, the logic of the program becomes very apparent. iVelopes allows you to write checks/use debit card, as well as charge items. All is tracked seamlessly among the envelopes, and you know exactly where you are within the month's budget for each category. Smart program.

Great App and Customer Support. This is the beat app that I have found for the envelope budget system. It is flexible so you can use it for a true weekly budget system as well as monthly. Layne is great about follow-up if you should experience any glitches.

Can't live without this awesome app!!!. I have tried several budgeting systems, and this is BY FAR the best app out there especially if you are a Dave Ramsey follower!! You can set your envelopes up just like you do on the gazelle budget system. It's very easy to use once you get the hang of it. I had trouble with the app crashing on me, so I contacted Layne via email. All I can say is WOW! Unbelievably helpful, super quick response, and my problem was handle with the utmost consideration. I was notified several times of what was being done to resolve my issue, and was even given a "shortcut" around my problem until it could be resolved. I highly recommend this app to anyone trying to use the envelope system. Best $3 I ever spent!

Confusing App.. Nice review from ivelopes... I still feel this app is horrible. I will check for documentation on website again, but could not open the PDF link from iPhone, reaches the introduction page and that's it...have no issues with other PDF files. Original post: Not very happy... Difficult to understand the flow of the app, said they have documentation went to website and all I could find was an intoduction to the missing manual. Only $3.00 but will surely contact Apple for a hopeful refund!

Great App. Best envelope budget app thus far. Does what it's supposed to without the glitches. Easy to learn. PDF manual walks you through basic use and shows some of the other perks. Love projections! Great job!

Still the best!. I’ve been using this app for 10 years now and it’s still the best one. Keep your account register, track your expenses, and use virtual envelopes.

Best budget app. This is by far my favorite budget app that I've ever used. I've tried out so many and none of them work with my income better than this one. My one complaint is the design, I wish it had a more modern design or that the colors were customizable. That would be great. I'm not a fan of the style/colors.

Stall, crash, and burn. This app has potential to be helpful. My husband and I use (were using) the app to monitor our family bills, budget, and expenses. It’s nothing super fancy but was a simplified and easy way to employ the envelope method of budgeting but digitally. However, we’ve experienced many pitfalls with this app. The app appears to rarely be updated by developers a huge problem considering after the last major Apple update, neither my husband or I can actually get into the app! There’s a persistent error message and no way around it. So no one way to track our data or even view it. Here’s the other issue, we assumed we should be able to employ the “restore” from Dropbox function on our family iPad since that older version is somehow working. Nope! The app allowed us to resync to Dropbox and instead of pulling information from a few days ago when the app was working it wiped out everything! So in sum the Pros of this App: - Simplified digital budgeting using the envelope method - transactions organized by date - ability to create envelop categories - ability to share across devices Cons: - Very few updates - App inaccessible with latest Apple Update - When app was working it would crash often - when working takes a long time for any input to load and appear on the transaction screen - Cannot rearrange order of envelopes automatically or by a drag and drop - Cannot delete envelopes without permanently screwing up all of your accounts - Cannot collapse envelopes in an envelope category - Sometimes has syncing errors in which a transaction shows up twice - Transactions are automatically sorted by date and in alphabetical order not by date and time, so double checking with bank accounts can be challenging. - connecting with a Dropbox account for added sync and backup isn’t helpful - little to no helpful information exists in contacting developers or getting support with app issues

Ok so far, but please add a few things!. I like this app. It is pretty true to the envelope budget system. I read the pdf with no problems. I love that every account transaction is related to a budget transaction (if you want). I love that I can easily see a list of my transactions without searching thru each budget. I love that I can "clear" a transaction too. I love that I can easily transfer between envelopes. But, here is my wishlist: 1. Put page numbers in the users guide. 2. Allow the user to edit the preset account folders. The edit tab only allows me to edit the individual accounts I added--not the manila folder tabs. This is not stated in the user guide. I don't want to keep track of a retirement, investment, credit, loan or mortgage. The accounts interface looks cluttered/busy if you are not using those tabs. 3. Is there anyway that the user could be allowed to just have the envelopes, envelope name and amount and no big blue space? The reason I ask is because I have 18 envelopes for my family budget. It makes for a lot of scrolling up and down. I would love to see just the envelope, its name and the amount remaining right on the envelope. That way, 2 or 3 envelopes could fit on a line (i.e. less scrolling) on top of each tab. The big blue space just seems to waste space. Also, an option to hide the envelopes while displaying the manilla tab would be nice and again reduce clutter on the screen. 4. Remove the settings button (which only sets the projection months and resets the entire database). Replace that prime spot with the transaction icon that would also give you a field for selecting one of your accounts. That would make entering deposits/withdrawals much quicker and easier. Ex: if I am looking in one of my env. to decide if I have enough money to make a purchase, I have to tap out of the envelope transactions, tap accounts, tap to select the account and then tap the transaction icon to enter a withdrawal or deposit transaction. Not hard, but certainly not easy. 5. Can you give an option to allow the date in the month, day, year format for US users? 6. This is minor but I would love NOT to get a red circle with a minus when I am making a deposit and funding an envelope. It looks like a withdrawal. It would be great if it had a plus sign and was green. Make these changes and I would actually use this app and give it a 5. Thank you!

I really wanted to like it..... While many others rave about this app, I just can't. It is not easy to set up....there's a file that you need to use to get everything where it belongs. It's not something you can just jump in and intuitively use. I just don't have the time or patience to utilize this. Sorry.
