Fun, but.... When I jump, my finger sometimes hits the menu button. Could be just me, but the lag when unpausing has killed me more than once. Swaping the menu button and the score might not be a bad idea. Awesome addictive game, otherwise.

I love Donut Games. Every game you make is fun and addicting. I am also glad you offer them for free at random. It's hard to find free games that aren't lame or the "lite" version. Action Hero is great cuz it's challenging. My friend and I compete against each other trying to beat each others high score. I can't believe all your games aren't rated 4+ stars. Y'all are crazy for rating under 4 stars. The only hard game for me is Icy Escort, otherwise I love the rest, especially Sunday Lawn! Thx Donut Games!!

Great. This is a great game however it does need a replay button it gets annoying going through the mainscreen every time you want to play again. I will give 5 stars as soon as that is fixed. But get this game, it's another solid game by Donut Games. Thank you Donut Game crew!!!!!

Challenge Mode. I like almost every DG game EXCEPT 4 Traffic Rush, Titanic Rescue, Action Buggy, and Action Hero!! DO NOT buy any of those games! UNLESS Donut Games decides 2 give them Challenge Modes! Even 1 at a time would b nice! Every time DG puts a Challenge Mode on any of those games, I will add 1 more star! It's stupid how it just keeps going until u 1: In Action Buggy and Traffic Rush, crash 2: In Titanic Rescue, let 2 many ppl fall in the water and 3: In Action Hero, get hit! Make Challenge Modes 4 bttr reviews!! But besides that DG has the best games on the Ipod, Ipad, and Iphone!!

Good but hard and retry needs to be easier. This game is really good but it is a little too hard. There should be different levels. Also there should be a way to retry the game in one press instead of having to click "ok" when you lose and then having to press "ok" again when it shows the summary and then having to press "start".

Some really cool ideas. I think u need to have an option where u chose wat backgrounds u want like purple and blue. Wat I mean is u know how it starts out orange then wen u die it goes purple, well it should start out with the 2 options u choose like purple and blue. But u can come up with more colors! Sooooo worth the press of the download. High score is 189 but that gets better every day, can you beat my score? This game is totally worth the press of the download and it's free!!! And the controls are really easy including juping over the platforms!!!!

Great. This is a great game, my rating is 9/10 because there is no game modes, like most other Donut Games. But all Donut Games with game modes that i know got game modes in a update, that means Action Hero maybe will be updated with game modes. Someone called zoroaszter posted a 2 star review here saying exactly this: can't see what everybody likes about it, there are quite some games of this genre but this one is without fantasy. also all Donut Games seem to be fitted not quite right to the iPad. My reply: For that reason its good, it dont have fantasy. Also, its not just Donut Games that seen to be fitted not quite right to the iPad, its ALL apps that are compatible with the ipad, but have not been made for the iPad.

Please fix steps required to start new game. Great game...maybe it's me, but alot harder than it looks. Please though, make it so when you lose a game, it's a matter of 1 click to a new game, not 3 separate clicks to the start of new game as currently designed. It's a minor thing, but annoying as hell.

Meh.... I wish I wouldn't have to go through so many steps to play a new game. It would also be nice if you made the bubbles smaller or not last as long. That was a BIG thing that messed me up. Otherwise, a very fun and addicting game!!!!

time killer. Great, simple, easy to understand yet hard to master game. it's a great time killer, if you have a few easy minutes of mindless time killing, then this is the game for you! As I said, it's a simple little game, don't expect too much, and Donut Games : don't change it! it doesn't need "challenges" it doesn't need "levels". It's got a GREAT comic book feel to it, and it's simply well made. keep up the good work!

Fun Game. This game needs no new levels or anything! Its perfect how it is and whats up with the gun guy? I've gotten all the way to 986(my highscore) and yet seen no guy with a gun? Oh well it is a fun game with nothing to change

Pow!. If you want to pass a few minutes of the day in a fast-paced jump and attack style game, this is the best 99cents you'll spend. Graphics are stunning, reminding you of Golden Age comic book panels. There are nice touch's like ambient background noises that match the subtle changes to the linear background imagery. The controls are dead on simple: Swipe up on the left-hand portion of the screen to jump; swipe down to crouch and slide under oncoming objects. Press the lower-right side of you screen to attack. The game increase it's complexity as you travel down the endless amount of rail cars, which change in style and challenge as you go. Not sure where the end of the train is, as you cannot die and resume from where you died. You die, you die. Start over. This is why I say this is a great way to pass a few minutes, as you can quickly get frustrated by starting from the beginning over and over. But even so, I keep coming back to try the challenge over and over again.

I love it!. Ok I know I write the same title for like every donut games app but it's true! It's so addicting! Go and get it (even though I got it for free)! If you want it to be free then be patience and the time will come! Also if you accidentily deleted any paid app then you can re-download the app for free!

There's something about this game. I have been playing this game for such a long time and I never get bored if it! The simplicity of this game just makes it fun to play every time!

Decent free game, but I would never pay anything for it.. The whole fun in this game is trying to beat your old high score. Would be way better and possibly 5 stars if it had more levels and varying difficulties.

Awesome but.... I mean you guys took the time to make a leaderboard on your website, why not integrate it in the game so people don't have to exit the game to see where they stand!? Add that and this is one of the most fun "runner" type games there is! Simple, well designed (as one has come to expect from donut), and fun to play!

Action Hero. One of the best Donut Games game, love the comic like graphics, and it always keeps me trying to beat my score. Worth a 0.99US$, and when I looked at the fun stats, I've played this for longer than 2 hours.

Pow! Wham!. This game is quite a fun experience! Be the action hero you always wanted to be and see how far you can get dodging obstacles and getting rid of the gangsters. The graphics are straight out of a comic book. The controls work beautifully. You will find yourself coming back for more - just one more run on top of that train!

Very Addictive. Really enjoying this game, I find myself playing it over and over again trying to reach a higher score/better distance. A game with such a simple concept, just run(done automatically) and jump over and duck the obstacles/dangers while punching enemies in your path. Sounds repetitive? For some reason its very addicting and fun. The game is presented well and includes online leaderboards to compete for top spots. Have to give the game 5 stars because its got me hooked on playing.

Lots of fun:))). This is a great game . I got it when it was free- don't know if I would pay a dollar for it though. It's pretty addicting just one question... When the big bar thing starts coming, how do you block it. I've tried a Lot but just can't figure it out

Difficult. Action Hero is decent the only reason I'm rating it 5 stars is because I just got it and starting to get the hang of it. Not a game for kids 7+ because it is hard to play until you get the hang of it. Not worth 0.99 cents but it is free right now, get while it's free or it is a waste of 0.99. Action Hero has some potential if certain things are updated.

Yaaaayyy. I recently got an iPhone and my favorite game ever is this one . I had it along time ago n updated my phone it got deleted n then it cost. 99 never got it back n now I have it again !! I play it 24 7 lol too addicting !!

Good. It pretty good and amazes me from various part, and it free so I was really surprise. I would get it right now if I were you. It a great time waster as you try to past your old score. So far mines is 342. The only bad thing I would say is there no pause.

Fun Fun Fun. Easy to get started on and progress as you become more adept. Just a few simple actions but what an exciting game. Great job Donut Games! I'm totally hooked. Can't wait to see a sequel to this game! I love passing a few minutes with this or settling in for a long session to take it farther. I would have paid 99 cents for this but I too got it free. Looks pretty good on my iPad too!

Fun. I haven't much to say on this app individually. It's clean, runs smoothly, and gives your ADHD ridden self five minutes to screw around with. (Or more, for hardcore achievers.) Although, a bundle app (similar to the 1-30 GAMEBOX out right now) made up of all the Doughnut games would be far more worth paying for (Granted, this app was free at the time this was written). A game bundle would increase replay value not to mention it's far more appealing than buying just one game. (I suggest a price of $1.99 or $0.99)

Really tests your timing and reflex!. It's a very underrated game. Once you get the hang of it, the more fun it gets. Finally passed 500 points. Tip: throw only two punches at triple bad guys, so you'll have a chance to duck under an oncoming arm post.

Action Hero saves the day!. In a normal, boring day, I lie around and do nothing. Then, I hear it. Gangsters are invading the train! I quickly take out my iPod Touch, and I launch Action Hero. Action Hero saved my boring day! Hooray! Sound: 4 Stars Awesome sound effects help me own some gangsters. The music is VERY hard to hear (Or is there music? I think I hear something...) Graphics: 4.5 Stars Pixelized comic graphics lets Action Hero run and avoid obstacles in style. Controls: 5 Stars Very good controls that are really responsive gives Action Hero better reflexes. Gameplay: 3.5 Stars Action Hero starts out too slow and very slow paced. Running with Action Hero is a breeze, until the gangsters get reinforcements and new obstacles come. The gameplay is very unbalanced Replayibility: 4 Stars Fast loading times lets you reach and help Action Hero fast. You could play this forever. The game never ends... (Unless Action Hero fails, and dies) Overall: 4 Stars Gameplay balance needs to be adjusted. It also need in-game high scores, not a link to a website. It is worth $0.99. Come on, just buy it, ACTION HERO NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! Good game, addictive, and uses your reflexes

Just like Run!. This game is almost exactly like an app called Run!. I'm writing this review at the time it's free, so let me say if you have or played Run!, this is almost EXACTLY the same, and at a steal as well. If you've never played Run!, the game is a side-scrolling (where the camera moves continuously to either the left or right,) platformer. The point is to either dodge or punch obstacles that are in your way. This game is easy to learn, and hard to master. Even worth it at $0.99!

It's awesome!. Haha, I got it 2 days ago and I got 1400 which at the moment is like #67 in the world, unfortunately, the #1 high score is like 8 times that lol. But it's all good. This game is really addicting and great, and would be great for a paid app, but the fact that it's free makes it just that much better

Great Game. But what's up with you people posting up these low scores? 302?193? Lol. Must be little kids. Try 1021. There's a technique. As the game gets faster (130) punch once to take 2-3 enemies out. You'll see what I mean. Good luck!

Addictive + simple = Action Hero. A whole lot more addictive than at first sight. I wasn't too thrilled at first but soon fell in love with the addictive yet simple and humble simplicity of it. Great game but I suggest you work on the graphics. Everything else is great though!

Great game needs basic extras. I love Action Hero, is a really great and superadictive game and it could be the best if DG add only a extra lives feature, 3 lives like any other Arcade Game will make this game the best, and why not a multilevel option or chalenge, is that to much??? But please buy this game you'r going to enjoy it

Wowed. I admit it, im a tad biased, i have most of donut games' gems, two even have the collector seal, i admire the devolpers gumption, make it free then allow people to buy once the promotions over, theirs a reason pc games used to do that, it works, mpre flys with honey as they say. Gameplay wise its simple and has a nice diffulculty curve,get it while its free!

Two words. Awe inspiring.. Well that's a little dramatic. This game undoubtably one of my best games. It is so good for one reason. It's so simple. It is easy to pick up and play any time! Get it Now while it's free!

Fun for free. It may not be the funEST game, but it is one of the funnest FREE games I have played. It is very addicting, and great for on-the-go. It could use some updates like new obstacles and enemies (I've gotten to 220 without getting anymore than 2 enemies, 2 wagons, and 3 obstacles including box and double tower).

Rather basic but still quite enjoyable. Like all Donut games, Action Hero has a very simple premise but can become quite addictive as you chase after that elusive high score! It's an endless runner type game where you also punch bad guys and either punch away or evade bottles and TNT sticks they throw at you. The comic book-style art and 'BANG!' and 'POW!' onomatopoeia makes the game feel like a comic. Action Hero is rather basic and may not stay installed on your device but the simplicity is part of its charm: there are no power-ups and other trinkets to fiddle with – just dodge obstructions, punch bad guys, and get the highest score possible. And in that sense, it succeeds! Great, fun little game.

A Good Game from a Good Developer!. This game is one of my favorite apps on my iPod. It's simple enough to grasp in an instant and put together well enough to pull off another amazing Donut Game! This is a great use of a dollar!

Glitch!!!. This game is so cool I found a glitch where you go and walk right through the enemies! All you have to do is hold the punch button if it doesn't work, then sorry because it works on my Ipod and I didn't do anything to my Ipod I swear.

Good for the first few minutes. I have enjoyed playing Action Hero, only it gets old quick. You end up getting more bad guys, a few more obstacles, and the train moves faster. I've not seen any story or new level. If the game is free, get it, you'll have fun for a little bit. If it isn't free, hold off, there isn't enough to make it work buying.

Good game. Good but not so fun

Now don't think I'm your average Joe. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of donut games. Usually they entertain for a couple of minutes and then peter out. But it has to be said, this is a breakthrough. Their usual favourites, like 'Chefs' or 'Rat on Run' or 'Monkey Swing' have to move over for this one. This game is ADDICTIVE! I love it, and repeatedly play it over and over again, trying for a better score. (My current is 142)(I know, I'm a complete novice) So, in conclusion, Donut Games has got a winner! If they were only gonna make one game, this should be it! (If you're tossing up buying it, don't let me influence you. I'm only happy 'cos I got away with getting it for FREE!) But still, addictive as hell! Like Doodle Jump!

Enjoyable. Great game, liked it a lot, like all of your games it's boring at the start ( like traffic rush) but gets good quickly. Only problem is that would like to see the gunmen a little sooner in the game, as I keep dying at about 200. Overall fun!

Message for donut games:. You really need to make levels for this app and also the new app which I think is called space buggie. The apps would be so much better with levels. OK. DG puts out some great games, while some may like this style of game it wasn't my favourite. Try some of their other games - you will love them.

Take these comments with a grain of salt. Donut game (this developer) are pretty bad with having their games excessively hyped up in the comments. Every game of theirs has a dozen comments along the line, "awesome game!!!" or "fun and addictive!!". Even when some are just plain bad. This app itself is alright. Run! is better.

This game is awsome and its my fav game appish thing on my ipodbut when u pause it and then resume it u need a  sec grace period because sometimes when i pause it and then resume it i band into things and sometimes im really far and about to bet my high score but then i die

Won't work for me. I'll admit, it's an excellent game. I played all the time on my iPod. But after I got my new iPad mini, the game failed. The screen shrunk into one corner of the screen. It's still played normally but you can't tell where the buttons are. Also, it slowed down extremely. So basically, great game, but terrible on my iPad mini. If someone could fix this bug in the next update that would be great.

Not a lie. Ive downloaded a lot of donut games games (the free ones) and all of them (except the light versions) went for $.99 a little while latter. So get it while you can for free. It is probably there best game out. Add a leaderboard and it would be even better. Doesnt deserve a 5 until leaderboard but the game is great.

Great game, doesn't work on iPhone 6. I used to love playing this game on my 4S, but when I tried playing it on my 6, the resolution is so messed up I can't even start a game. The buttons to press play aren't visible.

Fun game, great graphics... Pretty hard at first. Couple of wishes: Add walking controls, add OpenFeint, add my music option then add different characters to choose then it's a $2.99+ game worth perfect 5 stars. Thanks for another great game Donut Games!! 

Action Hero.... ...is amazing. If you play it for 5 minutes or 15, it's the best way to waste some time. I'll give it 5 stars if it gets Game Center support.

Don't listen to the others. You'll be hooked on this app. It doesn't need "levels" or any of that. It's addicting and fun.

Developers are awesome. Donut games are great. The developers listen and there is great gameplay and graphics, too. This game is a catch for free :) Wish I had enough money to get rat on a scooter XL...

High Scores?. Love this game. Maybe my thumb us too slow but I can't crack 200 high score. I saw that the global high score is like 10,000? How are you people playing this game?

Awesome app. It's a lot fun and great to play when bored. Never crashes and wish it was free again but a $1 isn't a bad price for how much I play it.

Action Hero!. Fun and addictive but hurts your eyes if you play too long. When I stop playing and look at a fixed object, it appears to be moving!

What do you do?. I download this game and all of the sudden I have to kill guys and jump over boxes. The moving platform never lets you pass it it's so stupid. I got up to 94 without and moving platforms then died. Because when you time it perfectly it says you didn't. It is fun if there's no moving platforms!!!! Otherwise probably don't get it.

I think this is a glitch :P. Press and hold the punch button and jump and you can run past the enemies without getting hurt GREAT GAME

Good app.... Its a good app; never crashes, and always works :) I just wish that Donut Games would offer more free games every so often...

Amazing ! . Why does this only have a three star rating ?! This is insanely addictive , but hard after you pass the 100th train , lools ... Anyways still REALLY fun ! 

Stupid captions!!!. The comic book captions stopped when I was at 310! I couldn't see past the bottle I just hit and I ran into a box.:( please fix these or make them smaller. This is my favorite app and I'll give you 5 stars if you fix this.

Love it! But..... Can u make it an option not to have the bam pow words come up they sometimes get in the way. Otherwise love this game.

Okay. I think that this is a great game! But could you move the pause button over to the other side? It is interfering with my playing when I jump.

Simple, And Fun. This game is very simple, press one side to punch swipe up to jump swipe down to dodge. And when I'm bored it's one of the apps I can use as a past time

Actually... I find this game devoloper rather boring with there games, but this one is actually rather fun. A standard jump to avoid crap WITH dodging and punching! A whole new un expected twist!

Just ok - even though free for a week.. I like donut games, just not this one. The on-screen action bubbles interfere with your ability to anticipate the next wagon's dangers. Also, I keep accidentally pausing it when trying to jump. But I appreciate you offering it for free!

Not bad. Great graphics and easy controls. Only problem is it would nice if you could save where you left off, instead of starting over. Needs challenges.

Fun, but.... I really like all the games that Donut Games make, but this one is lacking one of my favorite features. The level/challenge system. I like unlocking new levels.
