Great app. This is a great app! But when i finish recording the computer is "smoothing the record" it crashes. I got the iphone 3g. Please helpp... Fix it pleasee! Im a paranormal investigator and this helps me alot! Thank you

It's like a Tri-Corder for sounds. I hope I'm not dating myself too badly…the Tri-Corder was a gadget on the old show Star Trek. It gathered data on whatever you aimed it at, processed the data and presented you with usable information. White Noise Recorder is like that: you aim your iPhone at a sound source and it digitally processes it into a seamless sound loop. Just today I was exiting a building where a wind chime was sounding in the breeze. In the time it took my ride to come around the corner and pull up to the curb, I got out my iPhone, fired up WNR, and captured about 20 seconds of sound. The resulting loop is fantastic, the chimes fill the room, and it's playing now as I write this. The app is amazing. It's like a camera that takes snapshots of sounds. Get this app and make some noise of your own. 🔊

Nice. I recorded a sound that was soothing.. it loops perfectly.. and have been using it that way for a long time. Give it a try.. record an assortment of sounds, and you will realize the different sounds will be perfect for various situations..like a noise that drowns out the yapping dog next door.. a snoring person.. etc. You will be happy :)

Sharing sounds on Facebook. It would be nice to share my mix I made of birds in Maui and the sound of the surf in Maui on my Facebook wall.. Other than that.. I love it! P.S. I was able to assign a picture to both sounds before mixing them together.. I really like that feature!

Nice App. Easy to use, worked like a charm. Took about 15 seconds to figure out how to record the sound of our box fan. The interface is easy to use - just point it at what you want ti record and touch the button on the screen. The app automatically tool care of adjusting the audio, creating the loop and adding the sound to my library.

Easy to use. I really enjoy this app. I grew up traveling a lot so the sounds of motors puts me to sleep. I've recorded the sounds of prop airplanes and am trying to collect more sounds such as the thrum of motors inside a ship. I especially enjoy the harmonics of several motors running at the same speed.

Terrific app, great ability to record your own sleep noise. I am a big fan of sleeping with white noise. But it has to be real, not some computer generated noise. I always used a Sleepmate mechanical white noise generator. I traveled with it. I owned three. On for home, one for the road, and one on my wife's side of he bed. This app made the Sleepmate machine a goner. I still love the Sleepmate sound. It's a real fan, pushing real air. But now i have recorded that sound onto this app, and use it nightly. The quality is terrific. They key here is how long you can record the sound before it loops. It's a long snapshot, and that is the magic of this app. The sample, is so long that you never notice it looping. I have recorded hotel fans, waves at the beach, and other things. But I always go back to the recording of the Sleepmate white noise generator. This app means I don't lug the Sleepmate around anymore, yet I have the sound with me wherever I go with my iPad. For me, this app is a must have. I used it every night along with Alarm Clock HD. It was worth every dime.

Can't sleep!!!!!. The app is very useful, but I have a very old certain type of fan that doesn't sound like any of the apps. So I bought this one. It records but then it kicks you out of the app. When you return is says " recording found: would you like to edit?" if you press edit it kicks you out again!!!!!! Now I can't sleep!!!! :-(

Thunderstorm!. I live in AZ, and this time of year (hot and dry), my own personal "thunderstorm" whenever I want it is what keeps me sane! Love it!!

Touch 3G- no issues. listening to my recorded hair dryer as I write; love app's crashless usage; all upgrades in place and will keep recording the sounds that relax me, plus some acoustic guitar riffs when the urge hits.

Great. This app is the best white noise app out there. It is the only one I found that let's you create your own sounds. I wish there were a few more editing options but other than that I use it every day.

Dock output not working. This could easily be a 4 or 5 star app - works as advertised with one large exception for me. When you plug into dock speakers it still outputs through the iPod instead. Normal earphone plug works fine. Other apps (including ones by this company) work fine with the dock speakers so it must just be a bug (although I've not yet heard back from the developer). Hopefully it'll be fixed soon and I'll be able to sleep to the sounds of home anywhere I go.

Useful. Record feature allowed me to record my "sound" machine at home and take it on the road with less bulk.

Use it every night. I use this every night wherever I am. It's super easy to record (got the ocean on a recent trip) and set up to play. This app has definitely helped my sleep get better than ever! A must have.

Excellent drone and loop maker. Besides capturing ambient white noise sound fields, this app is capable of creating (often but not always) seamless loops of noise and / or tonal dronescapes. And with someone to assist pressing record and stop, repetitive rhythmic figures can be rendered endless as well. White Noise = trance music making app and compositional tool. Brilliant !

Awesome. Currently playing sounds from my trip to Hawaii, complete with matching photographs of the sights where I did the recording. Easy to use and works a beaut.

Lifesaver! (colic baby). Or at least sanity saver! Needed to record & loop my KONE vacuum because it is the only sound that quiets my colicky daughter... They no longer make this vac & the motor is burning out after running it daily for long periods of time. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't work!. I've tried and tried to record our white noise from a home fan... Nothing works! Don't waste your time or $$$ on this terrible app!!!

Love it, but can we share our created sounds someday?. I've used White Noise Storm for quite awhile now and when I saw Recorder, I had to get it. Living on the fringes of the Florida Everglades, we have all kinds of amazing sounds in the spring/summer months. From rain, storms, wildlife, it's great. I've used this app so far to capture these sounds and fall asleep to them! One thing I would love to see and it would be a easy 5 star rating from me, would be the ability to share our created sounds with other White Noise Recorder users.

Please write a review. App keeps pestering me for a review. I keep saying "No, thanks." If you keep asking you'll get this, a1 star review. Annoying! Tell tou what: I'll give it 2 stars coz oherwise I like the app.

useless - consistently crashes when recording. App crashes every time I try to record with it. Completely useless app. A rip off.

Definitely works.. Lots of things in life aren't as intuitive or effective as advertised. This is both--love getting "my room" sounds recorded and looped easily for playback and better sleep.

Recorder. This thing is awesome. I like the genius looping feature, I'm not entirely sure what all of the audio control options do so it is nice to have a system that does the heavy lifting for you. It also works 99% of time, only a few times the thing didn't quite work right, but nothing a second attempt couldn't correct.

Okay app but....... I love the White Noise apps, I use them every night. :) The problem with this app may just be the cheap Mic in the iphone but there is so much roar in the recording it is usless to sleep by unless you like sleeping near an electric turbine. Maybe someone with an external mic would have better luck. Also, if the noise issue gets resolved it would be nice to be able to add your recordings to White Noise to be able to custumize the app to you favorite sounds. It's pointless though unless there is a solution to the background noise!

Just bought - crashy app. This stinks - I was excited to try this app, but whenever I finish recording, it crashes when it's doing it's post production thing. A crashing app is an unusable app is a 1 star app is a bad review on my blog app. Hope the .99 was worth it guys (and yes I did reboot my gen 1 iPad after install this crashfest) Make this a stable app and I'll be happy to revisit it. Till then...

Deep sleep. Terrific app. My sleep is deeper and more restful. It is a nice way to get around buying yet another gadget as I was looking for a white noise generator when I stumbled onto this. I will be very happy to record my own sounds to add to the collection.

Best app I've ever bought. My 4 month old falls asleep faster than ever with this app. The fade off sound option is a blessing. Recorded my voice singing twinkle little star, loops it perfectly, and my daughter is happy to listen to my recorded voice as she falls asleep. The clock feature is great, the countdown timer, all perfectly thought out. I can't say enough about this app, comes with four default sound loops of air, rainstorm, stream, and ocean (the favorite). How would I improve upon it? I don't know :). Maybe be able to purchase more looping sounds but the four that come are great as-is. I've even told other parents I've met on walks about it and they buy it right then and there. :)

Horrible. Do not buy. Waste of $. It crashes every time when I record something, and it doesn't even bother to save it. I've reset my itouch and still crashes. Pls fix. Until they do, DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. I will change my review if they do. Very unhappy customer.

Very good.. This app is good if you like the sound of your old fan. Works pretty good honestly. I'd recommend it for sure!

Bugs. Every time I try to record something it knocks me out of the app. When entering back in, it asks we if I want to edit the unsaved recording. I say yes but then I get knocked out again. Bottom line - you can't record anything (on the iPad 2). Wasted .99.

Perfect But For One Feature.. To me this is the most exceptional sound recorder for white noise or pretty much any ambient sound or otherwise. I don't know what they do with the engine for use with a device's microphone, but I have not used any other app that can record sounds like this one does. I would easily give this app five stars too. But, it is just missing one feature that I am just dying to have. That would be the ability to export my sounds to a wave or mp3 file. You can currently export your sounds, but, only to a proprietary White Noise Recorder format. Which, well that is really useless to me, because no sound converter I own will be able to read that format and allow me to convert the file to something useful, like the aforementioned wave or mp3. So, if you would please add more format choices for export, I would be so incredibly thankful and grateful, and would gladly pay an additional fee for this feature. But, if you do add this great function, would you also please include the "Open In" option with the export, please? That way I could choose to export the sound file to any other compatible applications that I have installed on my iPad 4 (Box, Dropbox, TwistedWave Audio Editor, AudioShare, etc...). Thank you for all of the hard work that I am sure you've put into this wonderful application. I hope that you will please consider implementing my feature request in a future update, thank you.

Doesn't work. I purchased to record a shhhh noise for my newborn and it continuously crashes and won't recognize any sound source. I want my dollar back. Ripped off

Cannot edit audio!. !DONT BUY!

SAD :(. The app description got me excited but it doesn't work. I record my sound, hit "stop" and the program just ends...goes back to desktop, leaving no evidence of a recording of any kind The player app os great, but the recorder is a total waste of money, time @ desktop space. Sad 😞

Really Happy. I love this no nonsense app. I have bought others that were complicated and silly. Check out the record your own. Create good memories to relax to. I haven't crashed once.

DONT UPGRADE!!!. If you want to save the noises that you recorded, DO NOT UPGRADE!!! After upgrading to the recent version, I lost ALL of the sounds I recorded, including those that I recorded across the country during our vacation!! I'm ticked, guys! You DEVS need to correct this before other users lose their contents. Until you do, you need to replace the updates in their AppStore files with one that includes a large warning that upgrading can cause loss of data. I also lost a sound that I had just recorded, because the app crashed before I got a chance to save it. Thankfully it saved the second and third times. This shouldn't have happened! One star until all of this is fixed.

VERY USEFUL!!!. Found several good uses which only this app allows>>> mainly repeating a word or phrase I am using as meditation or motivation (as "be cheerful") even in background while doing other stuff -- an essential feature! Overall, having tried a dozen apps towards this aim, this is the only one that works and works well!!!

Great app. I recorded a white noise machine that moe and my wife use every nightly and created my own white noise loop that sounds just like home! Very cool to support customizable sounds!

Lackluster. I'm usually smitten with TMSOFT apps but this one seems to have been hastily constructed. The app itself is great and produces really great sounds. However, I'm still waiting for multitasking and a Retina Display upgrade. Also, the ability to import already recorded items from the Voice Recorder app would be super.

Great idea, but a couple bugs. I love the idea of recording my own sound loops. Unfortunately the app crashes often after recording a sample. It would be wonderful if this was fixed, and also if my recordings could be sent via email to the white noise pro app on my ipad. **update for newest version** After the update, the app still hangs if I try to loop a recording over about 25 or 30 seconds long. This renders the app useless.

Still missing.... ...a way to share recorded white noise between my iTouch and my iPhone.

Excellent. Love how easy it is to use

Solid. It does exactly as intentioned - recording and playback of ambient or white noise samples. The looping and smoothing of the recorded sample is very good. Provided your recording is done properly the loop head is undetectable providing an endless stream of your desired sound. Great to fall asleep to. I use it very frequently. Sound quality is as good for samples captured via the on board mic. Exporting the sound file to use later is great too.

Sounds like success. This app is a sound delight. Running on 3GS with OS4.01. No problems. Nice UI. Great recording feature allows mixing with ur own photos for display making for nice customization. Yes internal mic has its limits but that's a hardware issue--not the app dev's fault. After all this is DIY on ur phone not a recording studio. Quality sounds fine to me. I don't use timer much but it has worked as described. I really like using this to create auditory memories of places I've been. Would be great for a visually impaired person to tour-n-explore by ear.
