Best FREE photo Storage AVAILABLE!. Fantastic for businesses or photographers or anyone who wants people to see certain pictures. There are so many options. You can create albums and sets, making pictures viewable to all, or some... at your discretion. The only thing it needs improvement on is its photo editing package. It used to have a great editing package with Picnik... those were the days! You could blur backgrounds and hide items that you didn’t want showing up and ruining an otherwise beautiful masterpiece. FlickR owner, please bring back the functionality we had with Picnik. We all talk about this online. Let us show you the love again. Make yourself #1 again.

NO STARS! SO DEFECTIVE EVERY IDIOT AT FLICKR NEEDS TO BE BLACKBALLED FROM ENTIRE INDUSTRY.... ALL THE SAME OUTRAGEOUS DUMB DEFECTS CONTINUE UPDATE AFTER UPDATE BY THESE INEPT FOOLS! CLEAR CACHE NOW DOES NOT WORK MORONS! FRAUDULENT TAKING OF SPACE FLICKR DOPES! IT WORKED BEFORE YOU SCREWED IT UP WITH YOUR SLOPPY UPDATE! Like the slobs at Apple, which doesn't test anymore before going to market, the incompetent nerds who "evolved" this app ruined what came before (which made sense and worked for the most part) with their now gay designed nonfunctional idiocy which is full of DEFECTS! Rampant defects! - Random rampant duplicates uploaded! - Cache clear utterly DEFECTIVE! Large batch uploads take up enormous cache which does not trash! - No sort order option on albums like on desktop version, an oversight so obvious it shows the idiocy of the developers. - If you have two separate access permissions, one for camera and one for photos, why then must camera be allowed in order to access photos after specifically photos was already given permission? Know why? The monkeys who designed this app are stupid UNEDUCATED dopes. - Upload completed alert remains on all of three seconds! IDIOTS, leave that alert up until the user turns it off! We're not all sitting watching your app work as it screws up! GET SOME COMMON SENSE! If it ain't broke don't fix it morons. Your version from five years ago was more sound. You're unfit for employment.

Long time user, returning to frequency. I’ve been a Flickr user for more than a decade. I was a very frequent user in the early days and have gone back and forth over the years, trying different platforms. I was concerned when Yahoo! sold Flickr as there were recent changes to revitalize and update the site, app and community. The most recent sale to SmugMug seems to be good for the platform. Updates to the algorithms an tweaks to the interface and apps are good and I find myself spending more time in the environment. The latest app I’m reviewing had been great, though I docked one star for having to click on a different tab after scrolling deep into the explore pages. There is no quick way to return to the top of the page otherwise.

Good, but needs a LOT of updates. I love this app and it’s a great way to make friends and post photos. But there are many things that are on the Flickr website that desperately need to be added to the app. There are glitches such as people’s accounts getting deleted completely and being replaced with a ghost account with a randomly generated name and deletes all pictures, comments, faves, follows, and any possible trace of said person. It creates a huge inconvenience to these people and can cut off their communication and cost them their photos. I know from experience because people that I have come to know primarily through this app, have all been deleted at the same exact time due to these “glitches” by Flickr (in reality, Flickr is deleting them on purpose because these people are seen as unimportant). The app needs to be updated with the ability to change your cover photo, create galleries, change your “About” information, send and receive messages, tag people in comments without pushing reply, tag multiple people in comments, update emojis instead of generating a bunch of unrelated symbols, editing album descriptions and cover photos, and creating a showcase for photos. As you can see, this app is great, but needs adjustments that could easily be fixed if Flickr would recognize them.

Beautiful and focused. Flickr is a beautiful app supporting a unique service. Many other apps out there claim to be the platform for photographers, but often biased behind monetization algorithms to favor an elite who depends on such services. Flickr is photography for all, embedding a beautifully designed app with a true leveled community gathered around the love for photography. If only the pro tier was more accessible, it would be perfect, although the free service still offers most of the features I need to use. Flickr is a well designed app, has a huge community with incredible content found nowhere else to be compared and it has managed to stay atop the monetization and other social media disgusting strategies.

iPadOS app needs love. Flickr pro member since 2006 or so. Happy to see some new owners, but I’m not crazy about the membership increase from $25 to $50 a year. Especially with the bugginess present in the current iPad app. App crashes often, app fails to show current view counts, app fails to show new likes, and the app hasn’t changed a whole lot in years. I’m not an advocate of change for the sake of change - when you double the membership fee there needs to be SOMETHING new and exciting that adds value to the experience. Lots of my old groups are pretty dead, and the lack of moderators has attracted some spammy and inappropriate posting. I’m on the fence here. Smug Mug needs to make a case as to why I should stick around, and pay $50 a year. I’m already drowning in subscriptions and services here, and something has got to go

Love it again!!. A big Thank You for fixing ALL the glitches that we experienced over the past few days! I now love the updates, and you are back to 5 stars in my book! I still love it, but cannot stand the bugs that came with the new version! It's nearly impossible to make or reply to comments, I can't add tags, and can only add one group or album at a time...VERY frustrating! I use this app every single day, but am having to rely on my PC more and more. Please work out these serious problems.... Just this past year I started really using Flickr to put all of my trip photos "out there"! I was really pleased with a lot of them, and hated for them just to stuck on my computer or phone. I figured other photographers and travel geeks might enjoy them, and I was right! I have over 600 followers who are always ready to provide some words of encouragement as well as share their wonderful photos with me. I am addicted...

Ive been a member of Flickr for many years because it’s peaceful and creative and friendly.. I’ve made acquaintances from all over the world, seen amazing photography and regular every day sort of photos that share stories. From my warm acquaintances. I’ve made some close friendships, which I cherish. With Flickr it’s easy to share photos and video. It’s easy to title, write long or short descriptions and to comment. I love being able to makes notes on my photos so that I can name each flower where I tap the curser. Then the notes are seen by others who just run their curser over the screen. I pay a reasonable annual fee to use Flickr all I want without seeing ads. Of course. Flickr is also available free, but with ads. I love it.

Flickr is the best❤️. I love Flickr it has allowed me to be free about me. I was quite upset when my account was deleted because of a comment I made. I was talking to other gay men and to loose my account and my friends was wrong but with any site we have no way of trying to fix the wrong! It’s not fair to us in the gay community! I admit I don’t comment like a Sunday school teacher or interact with my fellow brothers. My pics and videos were my property you can put a 2000 page community guidelines but to delete my image goes against me my friends and our sel expression! Flickr is the best of the best no one can compete with you! I appoligize for my comment but it’s facts it’s truth and because I said words that offende someone why were they even in the realm of gay men interacting? Thank you Flickr Smugmug I question your name and you gave me grief and my work my self expression you wronged me !

I just can't anymore.. I've been a pro member for years but I just cannot be a paying member anymore. Everything about Flickr the last few years has been a disappointment, instead of moving along with the pace of the industry you guys decided to stay behind when Flickr knew it was in trouble it went and deleted not paid users photos in a last desprete attempt to somehow extort them to pay for the premium service. Last straw was that pathetic email from the CEO after being on the job for so many years, making promise after promise he did absolutely nothing to make a change no changes to website that are worth paying for, no engagement anymore with fellow members even the most popular members are seeing nothing in terms of engagement. I decided to cancel my membership and encourage anyone I do know to do so as well. So many years of Flickr ignoring it base of users, years of neglecting the site, years that the CEO spent just sitting on his hands only to show them to write a email begging for new paid members.

Total trash of an App. I love Flickr but the iPhone app is garbage. I have the pro account. Uploads are constantly getting stuck. I have pages upon pages of email with their support team that have gotten me nowhere. I’ll try and upload a batch of photos and inevitably, some load some don’t. Some load two or three times, while others never do. They also load in totally random order so it’s hard to know which loaded and which didn’t if you are trying to load more than 10 at a time. Total trash and absolute waste of time. I’ve been dealing with this for nearly two years now, and cannot believe their engineers have made no progress. I finally am writing this review because it’s absurd. I’m waiting yet again, staring at a status bar of 2/9 which has been stuck like that for days… if you have hundreds of photos and video and pay $80/ year you expect much more than this.

Flickr: Still getting better with time (and still impervious as ever to hurricanes and floods). I started using Flickr back when it was available in PC-only format. Now, it’s on my iPad Pro tablet and iPhone 8, and working better than ever. Compared to the growing host of “edit, upload and organize” cloud storage options that exist today, Flickr remains the premier domain for any and all serious shooters, pros and hobbyists alike, who need 100% reliability. I’ve been a full-time photojournalist for over 40 years: Even now, forcefully retired by health challenges, I cannot resist the allure of living through a lens. Thousands of career pictures, my life story, are secured today on Flickr, Anytime I or anyone else wants to see them. Hurricane Ike destroyed my house in Seabrook, Texas, in September 2008. The frantic rush of a forced evacuation was brutally exhausting. So much so that I grabbed the wrong box on my last trip to the truck ... the one that held all of my backup hard drives. Ike invited 4 feet of Galveston Bay storm surge into my living room. By the time it flowed back home, every photo I had taken since 1976 was destroyed. I was devastated. Until I remembered Flickr, and all the “cherry” images that over the decades I had edited and uploaded for safekeeping. Flickr is a whole lot more than cloud photo storage. And for me, the pro membership is worth every cent:. Larry in Clear Lake City, Texas

Don’t Know What I’d Do Without It!. This app is so amazingly easy to use! I plan to make albums to share pictures of various collections I own. I currently use Flickr to help me identify dolls that I collect. So many pictures available to me in one place makes this task much easier! It is also a great way to “meet” other people who share my same interests! I highly recommend using this app whether you are an avid photographer looking to share your photos with the world, someone who wants to share family photos across the miles, or someone who just likes sharing photos in general. It is also a great place for sorting and storing pictures no matter what your reason. So what are you waiting for? Give Flickr a try!

Friends on Flickr. I feel my ability to pursue and enjoy photography improved dramatically when I joined Flickr and began making friends with fellow photographers. If I wanted to learn from friends pictures I could ask questions or look at Flickr shot information that tells me the settings used to get the shot. I look at all aspects of an individuals shot and also the angle of the shot. I study composition and contemplate what draws me to the photograph and what sets it apart. Flickr people are wonderful and generous with ideas and comments. Flickr is a type of social media that encourages by example and is filled with techniques you can learn. It is clearly better than most classes and a road map for becoming a better photographer! Penny

Horrible share settings, horrible mobile site, sorry excuse for an app. Redesign your mobile SITE (safari, chrome) to have download buttons on photos so I don’t have to download an app I’ll never use just to save my photos on Flickr to my phone. I’ve sent feedback for this for 2 years already ever since you took away the function to download a photo by holding down on it!! Not only that, if you keep your album unlisted for privacy, you never implemented a function where you can have select people view that unlisted album! That is a commonly implemented function to share albums with people exclusively yet that isn’t a thing on Flickr. Then people I take photos for can’t download the photo from the app either unless I make it public!! But these photos are personal photos that shouldn’t be public like weddings, engagements. This has given me so much stress as a photographer because none of my clients view photos on laptop. Please. Add. The DOWNLOAD. Button. On. The. Mobile. Site.

Still Learning. I travel quite a bit so I use the App to keep up with the people I follow. I am very enthusiastic about photography and have begun to post directly from my phone. Newer phones can create impressive images so, for me it has become very convenient to capture more unique images at any opportunity. Unfortunately I cannot find a way to create an album on Flickr from my phone App. (Since I originally wrote this, some years ago, I can now create new albums, thanks Flickr). The app is fine for searching, viewing and commenting but I need to use my PC for some functions. It's not perfect but I still enjoy my slightly limited experience.

Flickr - Treasures in My Pocket. I added Flickr when transitioning from a work computer to a personal one, because Flickr was recommended by an Apple Store clerk, especially because of the free storage of a terabyte of photos. The quality and access with this account has been amazing though I was disappointed that an annual fee for service was added. I have resisted paying but recognize the loss of priceless memories and have decided to work with the company on this new structure. I’ll be watching for the same high quality of service to make this decision worthy of my membership fee for service from a company that I expect to stay true to its origins.

Was fun while it lasted. I’ve been an avid Flickr user since 2017 and have certainly had my share of fun out of the site and the app. Sadly with the new changes to groups and now the push for pro membership, the site has slowly become something I no longer wish to partake in. Many of my non moderate or restricted photos have been removed by the AI. I don’t want to pay yet another subscription for something that’s going to inaccurately flag my work. Perhaps I’ll return in the near dear future. Update: removing one star because moderate pictures get flagged as well. I get you guys need money for all of the photos you store but this hurts a lot of people that perhaps can’t afford to pay a monthly subscription fee. I put years into my page and earned a fairly large following all from my moderate and restricted content. I now hardly post anymore because I don’t know what will get flagged and what won’t.

Best photo album and storage app. I’ve been a Flickr user for what feels like 2 decades straight, on the Pro plan. I absolutely love that I can rearrange the contents of my albums and “set and forget” uploads from my phone to cloud storage in Flickr while on WiFi. Further to this, I can see all the cool things my friends are uploading to their albums, and set privacy on any image I so choose if I am working on a surprise project for one of those friends. Everything is easy to work through once you’re familiar with the process of creating and adding to albums, and I would highly recommend Flickr to friends. Especially friends who photo hoard. :D

Used to recommend. I used to recommend this app all the time as a great backup, but with their recent turn to a very expensive annual fee I no longer do that. Not only must you pay, but you will receive inaccurate mails telling you ‘gee, you’re almost a your limit of 1000 images, better sign up for pro now so you don’t lose out’...and in reality you will have less than half your limit. So basically they try to scare you into signing up by sending you inaccurate information. If I wasn’t already put off by the high price, I would definitely be put off by someone seemingly so desperate for enrollment they will misrepresent peoples account status and try to scare them into signing up I spent a couple of days downloading and deleting almost a decade worth of photos from my Flickr and am working on altering my work flow so the service is a simple convenience, but nothing that I will depend on for my photos. If they will misrepresent my account status they are no longer anyone I can trust with my data.

Don't update just yet--uploads from Camera Roll are still not working. It used to work perfectly, but for the past few updates, I've been unable to upload photos straight from Camera Roll to Flickr. It just keeps telling me the upload failed, and no amount of retrying will work. So now, I have to open the app, click on the camera icon and get past the camera function itself to dig into my photos, further dig around in the folders to find the photo I wanted to upload, and only THEN can I finally upload it to Flickr. It's really frustrating and tedious, when in the past, you could do this with just a couple of clicks from the photo itself (Share icon, Flickr icon, go). After years of working perfectly, this is definitely a step back--I wish I hadn't updated the app. Were this a desktop computer program, I would've just rolled back to an older version.

I love Flickr love love love.. I’ve been using Flickr for over 10 years. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to review. It’s awesome for cataloging your photos. I pull up the app all the time in discussions to show people my old photos and they are so easily accessible because I use the album and collections features. I love sharing my photography with the world, but I also upload my iPhone snaps and everything in between. I love to look at Flickr for a pick me up or walk down memory lane. Many people I know don’t show photos because they are too hard to find in the camera rolls of their phones. Or they don’t back them up and loose them. This gives me piece of mind that I will never loose them, to a lost device or a home fire, the precious memories of my kids growing up will be preserved! I pay for pro and think it’s priceless. I use the full website to upload my dslr photos and the app more for viewing. The app could use a few improvements here or there, occasionally I have trouble uploading through the app. Overall I’m a big fan and look forward to many more years to come.

A beautiful photo sharing app, much better than Instagram.. Over time I think we’ve all started to realize that the social media-ifying of everything - even photography - has made something that used to be simple, accessible and a point of real happiness in our lives a more toxic place. Flickr has been around for years and all the while celebrated actual photography - photos that can be presented outside the constrictions of a 1x1 or 5x4 box, that can be seen in landscape, whose details you can zoom in on. It’s also a community of positivity that encourages improved photography skills and risk-taking. The app is beautiful, clean, simple, and has a community of people who actually care about taking good photos rather than photos of themselves barely wearing anything. As Instagram moves toward a focus on becoming a TikTok clone, this is quickly becoming a place where I’m inspired to take better photos.

The last great platform for specifically photographers. Flickr is the last real platform for the photography community (and for other creators). While I'm also an avid user of Instagram, the difference in purpose and focus between Instagram and Flickr is so clear. I've been a Flickr user since 2006 and a Pro member for almost as long, and I'll be a Pro member for as long as Flickr supports this community! If you're looking for a place where the features, users, and community, are focused on photography (not influencing and marketing), Flickr is that place. No algorithms shoving targeted content down your throat, no influencers hawking essential oils and watches, no trending videos or stories to boost DAU metrics, and for Pro members, NO ADS - just the talented, weird, serious, imaginative, beginner or veteran photographers and groups that you choose to follow. If Instagram is a shopping mall, Flickr is an art gallery + photo meet-up. Thank you, Flickr and SmugMug, for preserving this platform, for all the technical and UX improvements you've been making, and for trying keep this place pure and focused on photography. I was one of the many complainers during the final years of Yahoo, but I'm more grateful than ever to have this platform and for the new life that you've given it. Thank you!

The best option. It is expensive (relative) and uploading sometimes isn’t the smoothest over the years and there is the fear that it won’t be around forever. But let’s be honest, it is currently the very best site for browsing your photos online with the ability to download full resolution jpeg at least. None of the other options come close and it is completely ad and clutter free if you pay for it. And free people browsing your paid account also won’t see ads. Also a ton of extremely talented photographers on here if you get bored looking at your own or just need some inspiration. It is also very good for checking out different lenses.

Flickr. The best in its category by far! In my opinion Flickr has all the ‘bells and whistles’ needed for a First Class Application. It has something for everyone, who chooses to join. Many features, Fabulous Groups to join, a place for your photographs, digital art works and much more. It has a classic style and is easy to learn what wonderful assets it has. As a beginner, you might have a slight learning curve but once past that, you will discover a ‘Place’ to let your creativity flow and make new friends to share your photos, paintings, mandalas, abstract art, etc with. Flickr will give forth much for you. All you need to do for your part is join and enjoy this fine ‘place’ to be a part of. Sincerely, Margaret A. Buono

I Love Flickr. I've been using Flickr for a long time now and for me it's perfect. It's a great place to store all of my photos in order. I find it hard to believe that each one of us can store so many precious memories on here. I like the concept of sets which make it easy to locate particular photos. The new uploading feature is very user-friendly. Above all though its wonderful to hear from others who have enjoyed looking at my pictures. It's a good way to make new acquaintances from all over the world. By the way , I haven't had any problems at all with accessing them on either my iPhone or my iPad. Thanks Flickr for opening up a whole new world to me.

GREAT APP FOR AMATEUR & PRO PHOTOGRAPHERS. I’ve been a photographer for over 5 decades (incl. 4 years as Photo Editor for my college newspaper). I’m an old school photographer and wanted to find an online community with serious photographers, and a website where I can store thousands of photos as an off-site back up. Flickr is exactly what I was looking for. I no longer am a lonely shooter. There are many groups on just about every aspect of photography. One great feature is automatically uploading your digital photos to Flickr. Flickr is also a safe place to upload your photos. I’ve been using Flickr for many years without any problems. I highly recommend Flickr to all photographers.

Encouraging and great site to promote each others work. I used flickr for two years straight before going onto instagram. I used instagram for one month and feel like crap like how you feel after you eat mcdonalds. Instagram is an account that you need in the photography world but that world feels so aggresive and hunting for likes. Flickr feels like everyone is friends, there's no fight for who has the most followers or likes and feels more encouraging. Plus with flickr Im able to see other peoples work in the best possible resolution whereas instagram is so low res and you have to squint your eyes. Id like to thank you flickr team for helping me progress as a street photographer, giving me the tools to promote my work to others. You have a winning formula and I will always be a huge supporter and promoter of your site. Stay Frosty

About Time. Thank you for FINALLY fixing app notifications. Now if you'd just fix the problem of the app crashing, without fail, every time you try to read comments on your images once they number just 25 or so, the app might actually be useable again. Also, let me take this opportunity to make a declaration. You doubled my annual fee for Pro membership when I paid it in August, irrespective of Flickr's decline over the years as a valuable place for professional artists to post their work. I seriously contemplated the value of Flickr when you did so, and ultimately opted to keep Pro for one year to see if SmugMug has the capabilities needed to turn things around. That being said, and despite your suggestion, I'm not "locking in" the price of anything. Raise it again and I'm canceling Pro after a decade of membership. Promise.

Too limited in scope. I have a Flickr Pro subscription, and began uploading all of my photos. I now have a few hundred albums, but the iOS application only shows me the first 50 or so. I’ve seen bug reports about this online, but no resolution. I also started adding albums to Collections (using my Windows computer and the web ui) to make it easier to group albums, say from a single trip. Sadly, I could find no way to access those with the app either. It’s just simpler and less restricting to use the website than the app. That is pathetic. UPDATE Nov 2023: Ok, Flickr, I reached out to your tech support as you suggested. I had resolved the missing albums via uninstall/reinstall (not the friendliest way to fix a bug). As for the rest of my issues, here is what your specialist team said: I understand you would like to be able to see and manage collections, as well as sort albums on the mobile app. While these are not currently options through Flickr, I can definitely understand the desire to see these features. I went ahead and forwarded those suggestions on to our Product Development team for consideration. So the web version is still more powerful than the app… pathetic still. Nov 18: responding to the new developer response – your tech-support seem took my featur requests and submitted them. until these features make it into the app, using the app to view thousands of photos and hundreds of albums is a very poor experience.

Photography on Flickr. Photography has a voice all its own..in full color or B&W. Great photography grabs our attention, soothes our senses and encourages us to continue our search for our next fun day with camera in hand. Flickr provides us the opportunity to see the World in all its beauty and share our thoughts with photographers from around the globe. I’ve been an active member for almost ten years. I learned so much from others and their work. We’re like family in the best sense of the word. Literally from all over the globe, I witness stunning work being shared. Great work doesn’t intimidate me but rather encourages me to keep working at my craft. Thanks everyone at Flickr for sharing, commenting and encouraging. Keep the shutters clicking people. J.D. HANSEN. Jonathan

Amazing. I am a painter & as much as I love to get outside for some plein air painting, it’s not always easily accessible. Flickr creates a great space for photographers and other artists alike to post usable references for people like myself to use. Many of these are unlike the crappy and boring stock photos you find all over google and Pinterest. If I want a painting reference and can’t get out for plein air painting, I always come to Flickr and I recommend beginner artists do the same for their references. Overall, an easy 5/5 for me, I honestly have 0 problems with the site, and appreciate all of the wonderful and talented artists and photographers who use Flickr as a means of expressing their creativity and allowing others to express theirs with interesting and helpful photographs.

Excellent site for pro and hobbyist photographers. The fact that Flickr uploads the full megabyte files of your photos should speak volumes, which means this site has some of the best quality photos available on the internet. I also enjoy the sharing of photo data feature, it’s not only interesting but very helpful. I’ve also met some really great people from around the globe and have enjoyed their photos and comments. I would suggest paying the subscription fee it will make your photo journey on Flickr much more enjoyable. ;-) The one improvement I’d make is being able to edit comments from a cellular device or iPad. Other than that keep up the good work Flickr!

I Like Flickr. I’m an amateur enthusiast with regard to photography and I’ve used Flickr for a number of years. I know there are other photos sharing sites, but my only experience is with Flickr. That being said, what I appreciate about Flickr is it’s easy navigation for both posting and organizing my photos. I also like how it’s convenient for visitors to my account to see my photos. This is especially important to me as my 90 year old mom likes to see my photos and she has no problems viewing my account. I’ve only recently begun using the phone app and so far so good, though it doesn’t seem quite as user friendly as using Flickr on my laptop. Thanks for the support!

The BEST photo sharing/storage/community app EVER!. I’ve been on Flickr for over 12 years and I’ve seen it’s evolution over those years. I don’t exaggerate when I say Flickr is the best app out there for all photographers. You’re given a very generous amount of free upload space (1TB) and unlimited space if you join the yearly subscription. Because of that I’ve started using it as a backup to my backup photo archive. It allows easy full resolution uploads. Besides that, I love the communities that are on Flickr. If there is a type of photography you like or type of camera or any kind of photography process, there is more than likely a community for it. If not you can easily start one. I’ve tried other photography apps but I keep coming back to Flickr. As I write this review, SmugMug just purchased Flickr. I’ve tried SmugMug too but I always felt like it’s focus was to sell you something. I hope SmugMug doesn’t make any drastic changes to this already perfect app!

Would give it five stars if…. This app is pretty solid and I'm really glad they went back to the old pre-Yahoo pricing for pro accounts. The app is great for going through and organizing photos you've already added to your account, although the geotagging features could be more robust. That being said, the uploading process for photos taken on my phone is insanely slow. It will sit on the "Uploadr preparing" screen for days at a time, sometimes weeks. And then once it does start uploading the photos, it will only do a certain amount and then stop for days at a time, so that months could possible pass by between taking photos and getting them uploaded. This happens whether I'm on wifi or not. And don't even get me started on uploading videos. There's no reason this should be the case when other photo apps can get a large quantity of images uploaded in mere minutes. If they fixed uploading photos from mobile devices so that the app at least performed as good as other comparable apps, I'd give it five stars.

Flickr is Awesome. I use Flickr to back up my favorite photos and share them with the world. But the user base is so diverse in their interests, that I LOVE to use it as a tool for inspiration. I have even been contacted by several individuals and publications for permission to use my photographs. I do photography simply for the love of it so, I have always said yes and am thrilled that anyone would even ask. The extremely diverse groups are fantastic as well. I have joined a few and have had quite a few requests to share a photo with groups, so I love the social aspect of the app. I wouldn’t change a thing and I really hope that Smugmug treats it with kid gloves and doesn’t make any major changes. It would be sad to see such an excellent app destroyed.

stops working the second I pay for it. below was my rating some time back. things are back to normal and it's working great now. too bad I lost money. maybe they should have more features like Google photos. how in the world does this happen? I went ahead and got a premium account, paid it and all, and now I have no ability to see my photos in chronological order!!! I have been a member since 2003, I believe and have never been so disappointed with Flickr. my videos aren't loading, neither are my photos loading in sequence but all scrambled so I have to go back and forth with my iPhone photos and flickr and make sure that all the pictures were downloaded correctly. this has been going on for months, now that you've forced everyone to pay! I don't understand. I'm going to have to start uploading my photos onto Google. I might end up liking that better since my sister gets little memories slide show on hers. I'm over waiting months to get this problem resolved.

Where I keep my photo blog and make photo contacts. Update 2022: ditto. Update 2021: love it, can’t wait to get back out and photograph so I can post them here. Update 2020: still my favorite photo community. ————- Update: 2019. Still my favorite community. I wish they’d return groups to the way they used to be or something similar but I’ve never found a better learning resource with so many good photographers. Take your time and cultivate a group of friends with common interests. Give to get. Have fun. ————— I've had an account since 2008. It is still the best photo sharing website. I wish Yahoo was more active and innovative but given their corporate and financial worries I am amazed at what they have accomplished. I have a core of nature photographer friends who have remained over the years. We support and cheer each other on; it's fun. Others migrated to Google+ and Facebook for more visibility. However, Flickr respects photographer's rights unlike Facebook. Flickr involved a lot user action in their last major revisions. While there are things I don't like about the changes, overall they were a major improvement. I like Flickr. I think you will too.

This app helps me get out of my “shell”.... I’ve only been using the Flickr app for about a year, and the photo posting and sharing has worked wonders for my photo skills. With the feedback and likes, for which I am grateful to receive, I am inspired to create beautiful photos. It’s akin to having great feedback from those I admire. I’m a photo enthusiast with a few years of photography under my belt, and this app helps me share my love for the visual beauty surrounding me. Thanks for the FREE app Flicker. I’ve recently become a Flickr PRO, and still love it. Four years into Flickr and I’m still loving the sharing and connection with others. I thing I’ve improved my craft, with the help of my involvement with Flicker people. Keep those inspiring posts coming! They help.

Unless you want to pay, don’t bother. The contempt Flickr has for its free users is really astounding. I completely understand limiting the number of uploads for free users; blocking moderate content, not so much. I wonder how pro photographers feel about their audience being restricted by Flickr’s greed? The worst is the Flickr Pro pop up every time you go into the app. Not just on opening, but every time you switch back to it. Using Flickr and need to reply to a text? You’ll get the pop up you just viewed come up again when you switch back to the app. And be careful if you favorite too many photos; they’ll just delete your account with no warning. How many is too many? Who knows since it isn’t documented anywhere. And then there’s the cache issue; the app currently is taking up 10gb of storage on my iPhone 12 since the developers can’t be bothered to fix this years old issue.

I'm starting to see why Instagram > Flickr. I love what Flickr represents, and therefore purchase a 'Pro' subscription. However, I'm a couple weeks into using Fickr and I only grow more frustrated by the day. Here's some UI issues I've been experiencing with the app: can't refresh anything - I have to close the app entirely, then reopen for stats, notifications, feed, changes to update/refresh. Notifications are garbage - most of the time I don't get them at all in it bell icon, but I'll get an email. If I do get one in the bell icon section, it'll randomly disappear. The group feed shows me photos from 5+ years ago instead of recent photos most of the time. What the heck is up with that!? I'll keep using Flickr for a few more months and update my review if things improve, which I hope they do because I really like the Flickr ecosystem.

Had this app for years. Love flickr and had this app for years but will this app EVER be able to upload in the background? Surely this needs to be on top of the list of priorities as this is a basic operational functionality. I got everything enabled in settings and let’s say I am uploading 100 photos and the phone goes to screen saver at 66 … when I switch back to the app I am still at 66. What is even more annoying is that once this happens the transfer takes double the time to upload. I literally have to go to settings, switch the screen timeout to never, plug the phone into a charger and leave it running for hours until it finally completes. So after the past 8 years PLEASE fix it!

Platform to View Other Photos. I have just started to use my Flickr account. I’m retired in south Florida and have just recently started up my hobby photography once again. Flickr allows me to follow some really exceptional photographers and get great ideas for composition and techniques. It’s great fun to post to my account and watch the views come in. Flickr is attached to my iBird app on my iPhone and having an account to upload to gives me an additional perspective on birding and photography. I’m just having fun; and that’s what retirement is all about. Flickr has made improvements to the program that add to the enjoyment of the site. Thank you.

Need more options sorting and deleting. FEATURE REQUEST: I’d like Flickr much more if it made my task of reviewing and deleting photos on the iPad easier. First, I can’t delete when viewing the photo full screen, now only when viewing the thumbnail. I often take multiple photos of a subject with the idea that I will only save the best version. This is SO HARD to do in Flickr—switching back and forth between thumbnail and full screen. Further aggravating is that the app jumps back to the oldies photo and the search begins again!!! And, I would like an option to “heart” or otherwise mark my favorites in the Camera and have them appear in a “Heart” folder. This would have favorites from several Albums. I’m not thrilled with the latest huge reduction in what was billed as “unlimited storage” of photos for free. I’m now a paying “Pro” member but I’m keeping my options open for saying goodbye to Flickr. I’m not sure it is worth paying for.

Great place to show your photos and creativity…. But the best part of Flickr was the camaraderie with other photographers when I first joined. I made SO many friends, we traveled and met up to shoot, and our friendships grew. We had meaningful and fun dialog both on Flickr and off… I feel like the newer Flickr doesn’t foster that fun and closeness with a group of people invested in this common hobby, job or creativity. It is sad, that the give and take is not there and altho the photos are fantastic, very few write anything about their shots… I enjoy learning about the photos and the person that took the photo and I miss the stories, some funny, some sweet, some sad, some interesting and educational. I miss the discussions … asking questions, laughing at the funny comments, and the learning. There is probably no going back but seriously, the personal side of Flickr is no longer there… that is a disheartening thing because I was on there all the time bantering with friends I had made and being inspired by their work, and commenting and adding new shots and stories. Just my take on what has changed … and what I miss about the old Flickr.

Awesome, but a bit slow on Sprint's 3G iPhone 4S. Great app, but I have issues being able to see/change the privacy function and album options while uploading images on my iPhone XSM. The functions and options are covered by the keyboard that automatically pops up at the bottom of the screen and there is no way to make images private when uploading. This means that I would have to upload images, go back into my photos, locate the recently uploaded images, select each image and change the options there. Way too many steps and when you used to be able to do it on the fly during upload. Of course I can always just access it from a desktop and change them faster, but that defeats the purpose of the app. Can this be revised on the next update please??

From free to expensive and changed.. I used to love Flickr. Now it’s expensive and they told me they would erase all my years of pictures if I didn’t pay monthly and that takes work because the album’s I had was to big to download. It just updated and now I can’t see my family pictures from my family because it changed to be recommended pictures from strangers on the app. I have to use the computer to be able to choose and see my family and their posted pictures. I am paying monthly for this and being pushed content from others i don’t want is rude when all I want is only pictures from family and friends. I am considering canceling it after I downloaded all I put on here. I only use this to share pictures with my family and it does not work properly for me to enjoy anymore on my phone. Please fix it or I’m done. Also if it was better price on prints I would use it.

Best For Photographers. Flickr has always been the go-to for photographers. Best photo quality, best organization, best search engine, great storage & backup saves, and with sites like Instagram chasing after TikTok for reels or video clips, Flickr is all there is for photos nowadays. The only reason Id give it 4 stars instead of 5, is personally I wish the interface was modernized a little bit. In my experience, it seems as if Flickr’s headcount is shrinking, which is very bad for photographers wanting to spread their work across the globe, but I think with a remastered version of the site, on mobile especially, it may attract some people back to the site. Just food for thought

Great app. Love the app great for sharing photos but I have found some things that need improvement being able to change the date the photo was taken on the app instead of just the on the computer and sometimes it gets the information wrong I have taken a photo with my Nikon camera and it comes up taken with a Sony can we make it so we can change the camera info on the app as well other then that love it

Flickr. It’s ok but it’s not working very well now had Hasn’t been in the past week so I dunno if it’s Flickr or our internet, I can’t upload or post photos, and I can’t reply to comments If people talk to me so it’s a bit sort of a Flickr problem I think cause some one put a post up saying it wasn’t working the other day either so I think it’s Flickr, not my internet so please fix it ASAP cheers

Time to Move On. I’ve used Flickr for over a decade and swore by it even when most people were switching to other platforms, but since the SmugMug acquisition it has been getting steadily worse. The Pro subscription price has become insultingly high with almost no improvements to justify the inflated cost. The new Terms of Service is a joke: severely limiting free accounts just to force people onto paid accounts which have at least tripled in price over the last few years.

Simple & unobtrusive. Nice app that mostly does everything I want. Old school photo storage and control without the messy new social media gunk and ads. There are some contemporary photo features which I’d love to see added to the app though! Things such as automatic album organisation (people, pets, food etc) and generally bringing more of the desktop site to the app would be great. Thanks Flickr 🤘

Good to be back. Deleted Instagram and use in combination with Apples Photo app. The platform is excellent and worth the Pro price - hope it stays at that price. The app itself needs an update as it has the potential to replace Instagram more broadly, it would be nice if the Uploadr would work in the background so I don’t have to leave it open overnight.

Professional photographers. I don’t claim the title of a professional photographer, but charging money for the app has cleaned the place up and separated the “boys from the men”, so to speak. I like the ability to change your own layout, dates, and even replace images in case you change the edit ! This versatile tool option is helpful for me and it isn’t crawling with attention seeking parasites line mainstream post-2009 social media apps. Hopefully Flickr has a long life ahead of it still! Nothing in life is free and if it is, it’s probably not good for you.

Love it!. The original & the best photo sharing community. It’s always a pleasure to be on Flickr. The interface may not be as slick as some others but the developers and community are dedicated to quality, beauty and sharing in truly positive way. Thank you!

Great App For Pros & Beginners. I love Flickr. The app is great because I can follow my favourite photographers and get inspiration from them. I haven’t signed up to the pro version yet as I’m just starting back on my photography journey after taking a long break from it.

Never had a problem. Very easy to use. I used it for many years and never had a problem. I redirect Facebook and Instagram posts to Flickr so people can see all the lost details.

Don’t get Zuckered. Flickr’s large pixel count for individual photo files compared to Zuckergram (aka Instagram), ease of searching and navigating, and minimal advertising ensure it remains an ideal, warm, welcoming and easy to use forum for photography beginners through to professionals to showcase and share their images. The worst thing that could happen for Flickr would be for it’s owners to push it more in the direction of Zuckergram.

My review. Thankyou. I like being able to make an album and be given a link to share album. And Flickr keeps the quality of my photos instead of degrading them like two other social media platforms that I won’t mention. Regards, Pete

15 years of use. The only media/sharing site that i have continued to use for over 15 years. Glad that you Don't Fix What Ain't Broke and improved the experience even more. love it long time xoxox

Jane. I have been a Flickr user since 2007. Flickr has been the storehouse of all my memories for all those years, over 50,000 images. It is a private museum of every moment.

Great for consumption, terrible for tagging/organising/etc.. The Flickr app is fantastic for browsing, favouriting, and commenting, but it falls down in a massive heap if you try to do much by way of uploading or organising. Somewhere along the way the share extension has stopped working so I’m unable to directly upload from Lightroom on my iPad Pro and have to save the images out to the camera roll first and directly open the Flickr app to do it. Then, it’s not possible to individually name each photo if you’re bulk-uploading, you can’t bulk-add tags or locations, and the uploader uploads the photos in seemingly random order rather than the order that they were taken in. Even worse, the Organiser on the Flickr website flat-out doesn’t work in mobile Safari, you can’t drag images into the batch editor thus rendering it impossible to do any organising without a full-blown computer. I would LOVE to see the Flickr app have all the capabilities of the website for organisation and to not even need a computer to do everything I want to do!

Great app. Breath of fresh air to be able to share photos with family and friends without annoying influencers, adds and sponsored posts. Long live Flickr.

Really love this app now. With the latest changes the Flickr App is becoming my one of my favorite apps. Love the new camera roll. On my Mac makes it easy to see my photos chronologically. Can we get this in the app please?

Exceptional for years, is only getting better. We’ve been long time users of the Flickr service and are delighted to see it in the hands of people who are passionate about continuing its evolution.

Love it. I like an app i can load and use straight up. Thanks guys for an easy to use app. Just one request. I upload my pix from a desktop folder to my cloud folder. Would love to be able to share from there. I dislike the photos app so tend not to use it.

Awesome app!. I love the Flickr app - this allows me to upload to Flickr on the go from my iPhone anywhere, anytime! I also use the Flickr website so having this app compliments it perfectly….

Just About Perfect. Yup, just about perfect! I can't think of anything wrong about either the app or the browser version. And a whole terabyte free! I hope it continues to be loved and supported and doesn't disappear surely some day, or gradually decline into a shadow of its current self.

Flickr does the job!. I was able to start uploading and sharing my photos quickly and easily with others in my beginners photography group. Others in the group were able to give me instant feedback and encouragement which made Flickr the ideal tool for me.

iPad2 dinosaurs. For those of us who still use their iPad2 tablets, I have to say the Flickr app is next to useless. Kept crashing before I reinstalled for latest updates & now I can't get it to load even though I'm already logged in through my iPad settings. I'm presented with the home page screen & a "Get Started" tab which when tapped just gives me a blank white screen. Why are we forced to spend more money getting the newest tech version of gadgets when our existing one is in good condition?

Just keeps doing it well. Been on Flickr for years, and it's never let me down. In old days slow internet made life a little tiresome, but with faster speeds it does a great job, even with big files. Go Flickr folk-keep chasing the unobtainium.

Here’s Hoping. I hope it’s improved since my last pro account was deleted, with no recourse from Smugmug. Seems less buggy in 2023 so let’s see how it goes 🤞private messaging should be easier and I hope this can be improved

Community and gallery in one. While not as trendy as it once was, I’ve met so many talented artists and friends on this platform. It has been a place for me to grow my skills, connect with people and feel welcomed by all range of photographers and creatives.

From amateurs to pros, a great community. Whether you’re just starting out or have eons of experience, Flickr is a great forum both for learning about photography and for discovering the world beyond your ken. I love seeing members’ photos from all over the planet!

Newbie to the app. Been Flickring over 10 years but don’t use app much. But discovering the good side of it recently. View/comment on the fly when you have a few minutes here and there to spare is fantastic.

Now is the chance to move and start again. I forgot about Flickr I’m sorry, but already vastly superior to Instagram and I’m saying if you see this, now is your chance to get people to move from Instagram, people are tired and they’re annoyed. We just want a place to post photos with an easy and clean interface and free from spam posts and try hards. Start going for it Flickr I feel a lot of artists and photographers are going to make the switch, I’ve been looking and I feel Flickr can be it since it has a decent amount of users already and the vibe seems to be what I’m looking for. Also I might add it seems pretty much unchanged from when I had an account years ago so thanks.

you had One Job…. …which is to reliably upload my photos. I’ve used and paid for Flickr since it’s heyday of the mid-2000s. The iOS app is a terrible waste of time which consistently fails to reliably upload photos from my phone to Flickr - the one thing I need it to do! Give it more than a handful and nothing happens - the progress bar gets stuck at zero, and - you guessed it - nothing happens. Later on, once I’ve lost interest, it magically seems to do something, but always ends up uploading *duplicates* of some (only some) of my photos. How can it be so bad? Why even bother offering Auto-Uploadr - who could possibly rely on such a thing? I want to believe it can be better, but after so many “bug fixes & enhancements” releases that don’t fix it’s primary reason for existence what can I do?

NOTES & Search in App. Can’t see NOTES in the App…..! I can SEARCH for an Album, add to it in the App, but CANNOT search for a Group.. Using a Browser, I can’t see or add NOTES until I have reloaded the page, Ctrl+R on my images or other member's shots. These problems have NOT been answered on the Help Forum at [Official Thread]Have an idea for Flickr? Share it here. Thanks #FlickrSpelio. Se #roundaustraliawithspelio and #AngelaMerc

Still my fav photo site. Lots of positives. Though I wish they’d drop the infinite scroll as it’s so hard to return to a spot - pagination is way better. Also wish I could sort results by date as on website. Still, great site!

Love love love Flickr. I ve been using Flickr for 5 or 6 years now, I think. Love it’s features. Most of all love the ability to upload full-resolution photos and share them with friends. A request: Flickr needs to allow people to sign up without forcing them to register a Yahoo email account!

Once great, now unreliable. The app has been great until a few months ago. Now it continually crashes and with every update there seems to be more issues created. Trying to log in often ends up in a loop as the app refuses to accept correct log in details and then once logged in (after the app randomly decides to accept log in details), searching photos often misses many that are tagged with searched keywords. Quickly losing patience with Flickr and considering wiping my account.

App generally good but internet connection bug. For some reason, the app says I have ‘no internet connection’ and won’t work when on mobile connection but works fine on wifi. Edit: just discovered it’s the new ‘private relay’ setting in iOS15. If it’s off the app works fine. Please fix!

Pretty cool. Well worth get and exploring our world through different camera lenses and showing off your master pictures keep the light bright or not up to you 📷💡🎥❤️

Could be much better. After 3+ years using Flickr App, recent changes have made it less user-friendly and I highly recommend looking at alternatives. Especially consider how easy it is to bulk download your content from such storage sites to transfer elsewhere. Flickr has me locked in... can’t leave without major hours and Gb’s downloading my own stuff.

Still the best for many things. Still the best for those who really just want to upload and share and curate their own photos, rather than hunting for “likes” and “followers”. Also great for he discussions and groups.

It’s pretty good. Just started using it, seems like a good photographer focused alternative to Instagram, one complaint is that you have to pay to post more then 1000 photos so not the greatest in the long run, and if you did you would have to pay a subscription. But I could just start deleting the old photos but then that detracts from the timeline feature where you can see how far you have come. It also does not have dark mode (that I could find. All small complaints but much better then insta if you are interested in photography or just looking at nice pictures.

App Needs more functionality. As a group owner I cannot do anything in my group but view images using this app. I want to remove images that don’t comply with my group rules and I can’t. I cannot give access to others to be a moderator for my groups via the app either. Please add this functionality. I cannot change passwords / through the app and I should be able to. Please add this functionality. I also cannot browse my favourited pictures using the app. Please add this functionality. 5 stars once these changes are added to the app thanks!!

TonyInaus7. You Guys are are doing a good job. One thing, I wish the photos would download a little faster. It seems slow. Keep up the good work, this is the only photo sharing site that I’m on. Oh, one more thing. Explore is little lower standard than before, don’t know what’s changed. Thanks Tony.

Fred was bad may 2013 a disaster now we want Notes back!. Bring notes and good searches back faster... Notes are now back, makes it the best and only place for Serious photographers and backing up.. Hope we get no more surprises. Wish they would ask the Pro members first to test the Beta ver. This was posted a few years ago, like after the 2013 debacle, now things are much better. Would love to be able to actually see NOTES on an image using an iPad or the App on a iPad. There is also no way to place NOTES using an iPad or to add the photo to the map!! Would also like to search for Albums and Groups by name in the App… Need a way to delete a comment in the APP comments. And to search for Groups by name.. Now we have #MyFlickrYear Just love it #roundaustraliawithspelio and #FlickrSpelio #GswaNullarbor Looks like NOTES are great again…… Need a way to drag a photo to move its location….

Great platform for photographs. Whether you’re a hobbyist, a beginner, or a photographer who creates beautiful art, Flickr is a great platform to admire others’ skill, challenge your own skills, and connect with people all around the world.

Love the community, the app, the platform,... It’s a well designed space for photo storage & organisation and great to share photos, and find others’ photos and inspiration. Sadly, using the apps (apple), community & group support had pretty much dwindled to nothing. It is actually quite difficult to find active, interactive groups, or to chat and get to know the community better. I would like to have access to FlickrMail from the app, and an easier way to archive inactive groups (easier admin/moderator transfer, if original admins vanish, archive groups, but keep photo pools, but stop new additions & new joiners, if a group is actually inactive, so that younger, more active groups get more exposure, etc.) Would love to have localised communities, more walks, and have it easier to get a foothold into those communities :)

Great app for the creatives. I’ve been a member of Flickr for years. I love how the pics I upload are used all over the world on a variety of mediums. And I love how I can access such great pics for my own use. The app makes it a delight to browse the latest pics uploaded by other users or to search for the perfect pic when I need it.

A breath of fresh air, hope it lasts. flickr is a breath of fresh air, away from advertising and robotic, sickly ALGORHYTHM that kills all sense of wonder and fun. It makes you feel almost like digging through a record store, it's not invasive. I'm glad i remembered it exists, before it gets ruined by the same ethos that ruined everything else.

It works.. Rare to find a well thought out app that does something well, completely, and doesn't keep whinging to be fixed when it isn't broken. Every software developer could take a lesson from this. Flickr is for sharing photos. It accommodates different styles of photography. It works on a mobile device and on desktop. It presents the work beautifully. It has community groups for different interests, WITHOUT foisting ideas, opinions and advertising on people. The search function on the desktop site to find examples of photos, camera examples, samples from particular lenses is the best research tool. The information available about each photograph is invaluable.

Stop showing other people photos. I want to logon to my Flickr account and only view my albums and photos. Give me the option to explore others albums. The Upload tool doesn’t have the indicator to tell it complete are not and most of the time duplicates uploads of photos. Video upload is doesn’t work at all, please fix it.

Image quality not as good as competitors. It’s good, but not that good. Competitors like Vero, 500px and date I say it even Facebook produce a better resolution than this app. I upload to these competitors at 2048 pixels long edge and they look better than Flickr app. Don’t believe me? Upload a milky way shot to these others then compare them against this app. Preferably use the Flickr website as the IQ there is better than this app.

Scroll function has reduced capability. The latest update has changed the scroll function to a much slower, traditional scroll which is near impossible to use if you’re trying to get to older photos, especially if your photos number in the thousands as mine do. Please, please bring back the toggle on the sidebar that let you scroll to the middle or end of your feed without having to load every image along the way!

Kennethcanada1. Very good, Thank You.

Love the changes. Explore and the home page are so much better to browse. Love the changes!

Photos Disappearing Act. The app is fine, going through other people's photos, but my Camera Roll, won't show photos, it is too glitchy. Need to fix that. I can see the photos that I posted in public. But can't seem to see my camera roll photos? Maybe I need to cancel my subscription with Flickr? I decided to end my subscription with Flickr and I won’t be using this app. I still can’t see my photos. I am buying a USB stick that will save my photos from Flickr to the USB stick.

Bien organisée. J’ai hésité, considéré beaucoup d’autres options mais je suis très content de mon choix! Flickr est vraiment efficace pour la gestion des photos.

Fun. Good to see so many amazing images

Love the app. The only change I would suggest is that it update across devices. For instance, if I mark a notification as read on my PC or iPhone, it should not me require to do so on my iPads as well. I have the app installed on my iPhone and two iPads as well as logging in on my PC so every notification requires me to look at it four times!

Flickr is awesome. Flickr is awesome and I love it

make the app more useable. why do i need to go onto a computer to edit my account, why do i need to use a computer to fully use the app? just update the app with more options and stuff like why is it completely useless on the phone it pisses me off.

Great community. Flickr makes it easy to connect with photographers all over the world. Groups are an excellent venue to learn visual literacy from others. I look forward to the daily feed from those I follow, and their comments spur me on.

Seriously good. If you like photography you’ll love Flickr. I’ve seen so many great images from around the world on this site. A visit daily is a must for me.

Flickr. Nothing on the Internet beats Flickr for storing and sharing photos. Digital photography and Flickr go hand in hand.

It’s mainly group admistration that is still missing. Certainly the Flickr app has improved after Flickr was bought from Yahoo. Flickr’s main problem is outside of its hands, casual users want to post as quickly as possible on other apps, while users who are willing to use dedicated cameras and to put the time to post process their photos use sites like Flickr. Unfortunately, the market growth is with casual users, while usage of dedicated cameras is at best stable.

Finally an honest app for fotos…. You are left to enjoy your pictures

Easy to use. Images look nice. Overall easy to use once you get the hang of it. Images look good and I like having the camera/lens settings so I can get an idea of how it was shot. It helps with the learning. Quibble: make the delete button easier to find. I also wish the personalized URL could be changed more than once so it can keep up if I need to change my website domain or my “stage” name.

I Love Flickr. Lots of interesting photos and scans, especially railway themes. Fun to upload my photos and scans, read reviews and find out if others like them. Love it.

Excellent but a little slow. My only complaint is the upload/processing time, something that the browser version also struggles with. So many new features! Tremendous upgrade. 2023-11-05 asked again for a review, lol. Still a fan. :)

Flickr review. Great place for photography. I’m liking it better than the other social medias

Good. Good

Solid iPhone and iPad Experience. Much improved over the past two years. The app is a fun way to view and interact with friends’ photos. Uploading photos via the Sharing Interaction works great. Room for improvement when adding photos to Groups. Group Discussions would be a fine addition too, but the core experience is still excellent. Great work!

Looking forward to seeing what new. Awesome app

Editing photos using iPad and iPhone not functioning. For few days when trying to editing photos using iPad and iPhone the App stops working and going to freeze … the problem persists even after the latest Flickr App update I depend on the App editor for all my photos editing Regards

Great for photographers. Flickr is still the best photo sharing site around.

Flickr. Pictures posted on Flickr challenge me to be a better photographer…

Great App. Great place to upload full size photos and curate albums.

Great site. Great site for sharing and viewing photos!

5Star Rating 💯💯fantastic app. Fantastic platform. Learning so much from other folk’s compositions. 5 STAR RATING.

Great photo sharing site. I’ve been using Flickr for 13 years now. It’s a great way to showcase your photographs and to learn from other photographers.

Steven Bulman Photography. I joined flickr in 2006 and have seen it change many times. Through its popular to less popular moments, it has always brought me the joy of sharing my work, viewing the images of others, making long distance friends, and growing as a photographer. Among the many elements one can enjoy as a member includes the sharing of comments. This however is disappearing. Sadly new members are after quick counts and offer a thank you on their own site in place of a comment. This doubles their own views in place of commenting on the work of another. The very reason flickr was created - to lend a social venue for photographers. Regardless of this new short coming, flickr is unique as a social media and photo sharing platform. I will not go anywhere else. There remains one oddity though, flickr will not accept the spelling of flickr! Regards, Steven Bulman

Excellent Photo Sharing Community. Flickr is a great app…easy to use and reliable - great way to immerse into the photographer’s community.

Freedom and fantasy. Enjoying the freedom to express in here❤️ free like Second Life

Best App for photo sharing. Love it.

Great. It's great for photographers and people who want to share their photos. You may think, "why should I get Flickr when there are apps like Instagram and whatnot?" Well I think that there are many reasons why this app is better than Instagram and I wish more people used Flickr.

Flickr review.. So far it has been a great platform to have my Fotos seen and appreciated!

Flickr. I love it

Since 2009, reliable server, good communities…. I’ve used since 2009. Great reliable server, good communities!

Merci

How I Share my photos. I love Flickr for sharing my creativity in the way of photography. It also gives me a way of always having a backup of my photos. The Flickr community is always helpful and kind.

The best. The best gets better..

Awesome App. Love this app. Easy to use and keeps me up to date with everyone I’m following.

Woodgrove mall. Woodgrove mall

An actual photo app. Heading back to flickr now that instagram is all business-selling and influencer-selling. Sometimes the older things are better.

Great product. Still missing RAW filing.

10/10. I would give this app a a 10/10 all the people are very nice and it is not that hard to use I really like this app and will continue to use it if you are not 18 for smug mug this is a good replacement

👌🏻. This is great

Magnificent !!. Lots of spectacular photos ...lots of talented photographers...Love Flickr!!

Viewing. Really easy to use.

Great Professional App. Simple to use. Simple to access. Quality of the files is maintained and not downgraded.

Love this app.. This is truly one AMAZING app. Great social networking too. Gotta say it’s a super fun app and great to inspire each other on with our passion for photography

👉 Are you looking for an Adsense alternative advertising platform?

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!

Just wow. Can’t sign in or sign up. Flickr wins...for the single worst signup/signin experience in the entire world. I could not imagine a worse user experience. I literally couldn’t. Was that a joke? It almost had to be with how atrocious it is. I literally can not create an account or retrieve an account without getting stuck in a never ending loop of verification codes and passwords and emails that don’t get accepted. I am beyond disgusted with what you are putting your users through. I really wanted to use this platform to share photos but I literally cannot. I am a UX Designer who spends all day with technology and I can’t seem to crack this product. If I can’t then how can the average user? Yahoo...figure this out. You can afford a UX Designer and some research...or alternatively use some common sense. A little goes a long way!

Outstanding app. Flickr is a great way to share your photos with others and be able to get some feedback, but it is more than just a way to show your photos it's a great place to see pics from all over the world. A place to get ideas for your favorite pass time and see how others work with light and colors and all types of subjects. Also it's a great way to see things that may be of interest on your next vacation, just type in your destination and find all kinds of things you may want to photograph.

Flickr provides me my muse for paintings.. I get on almost every night to see what my favorite photographers have posted. They inspire me! These artistic people remind me that the sky can be purple, orange, dark grays, and even pink... That water moves, the grasses bend, the mountains- while great, they fade into the distance.... The animals have emotions and these emotions can be clearly seen in their expressive faces and body language. I have studied Lion paws, cast shadows, water splashes, light through leaves, hollowed out logs and trees.... I can not tell anyone enough how much I have learned from this site and from all the photographers who are generous enough to post their amazing work!

One of my favorite apps. I've used Flkr for over three years now, and it is one of my favorite apps. Just having it as a backup for my photos alone makes it priceless, but it also enables me to share photos with anyone I want to, or with everyone if I want to. I am in my account every day doing something. I love the ability to add titles and descriptions to photos and to be able to easily see camera settings and location information for each of my photos. I don't even use the editing features, but I am so glad they are there.

What’s wrong with flicker?. I’ve used this app for years and now there are so many problems. First I run out of space for the first time in ever then it says my photos are at risk of being deleted. Then my photos disappeared but it still said they were there then I log out to try and log back in and it tells me there’s a third party problem and I can’t get back into the app till it’s fixed! What the heck is happening?! I have photos on there from way back in 2012! I don’t pay for the premium whatever but when I first got this app is said I would never run out of space and somehow I have? If my photos get deleted cuz of whatever problems are happening I’m gonna freak cuz some of those photos aren’t saved anywhere else!

Good Stuff. There are so many good photos on Flickr, photos that are 'interesting' on some level (and often more...), that one sometimes wonders who should get the most praise: the photographers or the marvels of engineering they use to take their pictures, namely their cameras. (There is an entire 'school' of photography I privately think of as 'Fujiography' for its immediately recognizable look.) But then I think of my own difficulties and failures with the medium and realize that, since I too have a perfectly good camera, without the results to show for it, all that excellence must be about more than mere machinery....

Amazing alternative to “social media”. Has the instant gratification element of Instagram but really nice to actually scroll through things that you know a lot of people spent a lot of hours carefully crafting. Really interesting groups and categories to explore as well, something for everybody! I also as a really amateur photographer love to use their albums feature to share photos with my friends from a day we had together hanging out. I keep them private so only people I send the link can see them and it’s a really nice way to integrate photography and social world all at once.

App is good. Sharing with friends via mobile is bad. The app is easy to use. Good uploading tool. I have been using it for maybe 2 years and it doesn't let me down. The main problem I have is that when I want to share a photo or album to a friend via a link, it's a pain for the other person to Download it when they view it through a mobile browser. When the link if opened in a desktop browser one can see the download link. It's been like this for like a year probably. I jumped into Flickr because of their generous 1 terabyte offer. I guess it was too good to be true, now they limited it to 1000 photos only. Im really disappointed. It's time for me to jump ship. I tried Flickr, I really did.

Useful but could be better. I love Flickr and have used it since the early days of Yahoo photos. I like being able to directly upload from my iPhone rather than being able to go through my computer. My only complaint about the app is that the Stats are simplified so much as to be useless. From a computer, you can get a full list of photo views, album views, etc. The iPhone app, though, only shows the top 5 photos (by view) and no albums at all. It would be very nice to have the full functionality one gets from using Flickr on a computer.

Love it but. I use Flickr to upload photos I’ve taken and so other people can access them but also to back up my photos from my camera roll. It used to be so that people could directly download images from an album link full res but I think they took that feature away which I wasn’t happy about. Bringing back that ability would be very helpful. My friends screenshot my photos from the link and the quality is always pretty low. Also, when I’m backing up my camera roll photos, it gets stuck towards the end and doesn’t upload. It’d be helpful if that could be fixed as well. Overall, I love Flickr and I use it very frequently.

Really bad app. Ok, it does the job and sometimes work pretty good. But usually - uploader stucks and you can't backup all your photo for days. When you browsing and selecting more than 10 files to delete, move or whatever - app crashes. If you swipe more than one year - app crashes, etc. Also, if you saved some photos from web to your phone, and they go to your photostream - you are risking that your account will be deleted without warning (because you uploaded photos that don't belong to you). For example saved some Taylor Swift photos or something else that is popular (so the bots can auto identify) to use as wallpaper? Bam! All your photos deleted. So in short - use Google or Apple, but not this garbage. Used Flickr since iphone6, and the app keeps getting worse. I'm out! And hope Yahoo will get bankruptcy

PLEASE MAKE IT BETTER FOR PUBLIC VIEW. I really wanted to leave instagram, FLICKR actually keeps an archive and is better for photos. the app means the staff is rating your photos, and have rated all mine “moderate”- which can only be viewable by other flickr people-BUT LIKE NO ONE IS ON FLICKR YALL. im trying to sell this app seriously- but making all my albums not viewable to the public bc someone else rated my photos is not helpful. i cannot change my photos to “safe” because it was on the app and rated bt staff. making all non-adult content viewable is important to get people to reconsider joining at this point. this app is so close to being what artist neeeeeddd. tumblr is gone too, and ig is poison.

A Way to Store Your Hi-Res Photos. I’ve been a Flickr Pro user for about a decade… maybe more. I was drawn to it originally because I could store my photos without having them compressed. Those of us who are professional or serious amateur photographers need a way to store our photos in their original sizes. Flickr has grown a lot over the years with lots of changes that have improved both their website and their app. Simply put, Flickr works and works well. I feel it is worth the money I pay to be a Pro User.

I want to give this 5 stars, I really do! But..... I take mainly action sports photos of 13 and younger. These LEGALLY CAN NOT BE ACCESSED EASILY FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION. I freely give these photos freely to teams as my volunteer work. I set photos and the albums to "Friends and Family." There are a couple of glitches: 1. No ability to share generated link to include "Friends and Family." I can only do this from the desktop version. I can access the mobile site, only after uninstalling the app completely...not just "sign out." 2. When sharing the generated link, they can view, but aren't able to download. I've gone through all settings, still nothing. 3. "Include friends and family" generated link will only allow downloading of images from desktop site, not mobile or app. You have to "follow" them and then be assigned by creator as a friend or family. 4. You are unable to assign followers as "friends and family" in the app, so you have to go to the desktop version, of which you have to uninstall this app...

Best site for photos and sharing.. I keep coming back to Flickr. The latest thing I've noticed is how sharp the albums present themselves. Lots of touches like this along with a deep-as complex as you want it to be-organization system make it unique. I signed up for Pro program even though I'm not, and it has proved invaluable for me. Well worth it especially if you are sharing photos with family and friends and don't want them to have the bother with sign ups and login ins. User friendly.

Website is far better.. This is a “light” version of the website that offers little value aside from providing notifications. Uploading images is pointless if you want to properly tag and organize more than one image. The timeline (?) page doesn’t provide any control over what you’re seeing such as people or groups. Not exclusive to this app but as we all know, the discussions has always been the best part of Flickr yet this function has been ignored for at least half a decade. I can’t see how management’s proposed upgrades are going to improve upon this community. All the solutions are staring them in the face yet they’ve insisted on ignoring the community’s feature requests and bug reports.

I like it.. I was using Instagram for my photos, but Instagram has seemed to move away from photos and more interested in being a tik tok clone and a advertising machine. I like that Flickr is focused on photography. I don’t have to crop my photos in wonky ways like on Instagram. You can zoom in real close to see the detail and sharpness of a photo. The only hang up I have with Flickr is the level of talent on there. I’m not a professional photographer. So on the one hand it pushes me to try and make better photos to post because I don’t want to embarrass myself. But on the other hand it can be a bit intimidating and I don’t really want to post a family vacation pic for everyone to see because it’s not artsy enough. I think I can have around 50 private photos that aren’t public with the free account. So that’s nice. My initial reaction is positive with Flickr and I feel it’s vastly superior to Instagram if you like taking pictures and looking at pictures.

Want to lose your photos? Use Flickr. It was bad enough that a few years ago they deleted years worth of my photos after a move to Verizon. But it’s my fault, I should have seen the warning email that went to my spam folder. So years of photos, unexpectedly lost for trusting Flickr. Now trying to recover the remaining photos and download them to a hard drive, there are more wonderful issues. You can only download 500 at a time, even though the photos I have stored are not large in size. No option to select all and batch download. I have 10,000 + on there so the process took forever. Then comes the question of quality, which seems to have been quite degraded after storing on Flickr. Overall, maybe a good place to share photos, not a good place to store them.

I’d give it 5 stars but..... I love the fact that I can stash pics here to save space on my phone(which isn’t necessary with a 128gb iPhone 7 plus) but just so I won’t have such a huge album on the phone. My only disappointment is with videos. I have saved many videos on Flickr which unfortunately I can no longer see; they always load but never play, and when I try to save them to the actual phone, it tells me something went wrong which it says every time with every video I try it with. Real shame since I would like to rewatch so many of those videos!! It’d be cool if an update can fix that issue, I’d give it 5 stars!!

Love!. Besides taking pictures, I love looking at pictures. This app gives me the option to view other peoples photos and I get to share mine as well. Pics and folders are easy to share. It's been easy to link my folders to my website too. I love the view options. I can keep my pics so only I can view, set them to only my friends and family can see or I can set them so that anyone can view. Very easy to change the permission of my pics on my phone. The app also has an editing tool with some filter effects and basic adjustments.

Disappointed. I only used this app for iCloud storage, no sharing at all. Years ago when I started uploading my photos on Flickr from my desktop computer and my I phone’s camera roll, it was great, fast upload and 1 TB free space, I didn’t think there’s a better option than this to safely store your life time worth of photos. Once in a while, I was checking the space left for uploading and I never used more than 50% of the maximum, actually, 1 year ago when I stopped using Flickr, I was using only 1/3 of the space. So, a year ago, I started getting notifications that soon, they’ll start charging an amount of money, which was too much for me to pay. I switched to Google photos, which so far has been free and full of cool features. I’m sorry Flickr!

Lame excuse for a flickr app.. Can’t see (much less edit) auto-tags. Can’t sort search order. Can’t edit dates. Can’t edit profile except avatar. Waaaay too easy to delete pictures. No mechanism for loading more search results when app randomly decides to crap out on displaying said results. Randomly going back to default page when I’m still interested in my location within my last search results. And on and on. Doesn’t display the less-specific date taken (e.g. in 2016, March 2012) formats already selected on the primary Flickr site. Can’t perform even simple set tasks like re-ordering. Delete a picture out of a set and you get taken back to top of set: great fun when weeding large sets. Switch apps mid-set-browsing to look at a text-message...get taken back to top of set again. Woooohooo! Lame as f.

Easy to navigate and super helpful for beginners!. I created my flickr profile as a secondary portfolio alongside my instagram page. I figured that it came off a bit more polished and professional, and I could feature my proudest works on their own page. I started setting everything up and suddenly three hours had passed! Everything was so easy to operate that I added basically every photo that I’ve ever taken, and despite the free version only allowing a mere 1000 pictures I’ll probably go pro sometime soon just because I want to support you guys :)

Photo sharing and archive for serious shooters. Flickr is the best platform for serious photographers. None of that "crop to a square" Instagram garbage. No censorship on Flickr! Instead they have intelligent filter options so YOU can post & see the photos you want to see. Flickr has the ability to replace an existing photo with a better version without deleting all the comments and likes. The Groups are very supportive and moderated. You can also upload directly from your phone just like Instagram & snapchat. But these are full resolution uploads and YOU set the copyright protection.

Keeping it Simple. While I am not a paid subscriber, I am a business person, hence I understand the business side of Flickr. Stating that, I enjoy looking at images from different creatives and I enjoy the fact that Flickr is sticking to it’s original purpose, I know in the world of business you need to stay relevant and this may be difficult for Flickr, so I appreciate their efforts. Now, I do not visit Flickr enough to pay for the site this my reason for not joining their subscription plan, yet I am filling the need to walk away from Social Media and focus on my own art. I do not know, I will spend some time and see.

Video upload. UPDATE: New version and still no video upload control. Still stuck with 20 unknown files. And no locations from iPhone. Still the same UPDATE: I guess my problem is videos, but unfortunately I don't know which ones. Is there any chance you can make the app to show you: 1. What is currently uploading with the progress bar for each file 2. Ability to skip the file (which casing the trouble) or pause or even delete from the uploading queue 3. Time left to be fully uoloaded And still there is no EXIF starts for imported photos. No location, no lense info etc. When are you going to fix video upload? I'm still stuck like 1 year ago in my photos and videos (yes, I have a lot of them). The upload doesn't go any further. For the last 2-3 months and I don't even know which video or photo it cannot process (would have deleted it for the sake of the rest). Can you add a status bar of what the app is currently uploading? Need general improvements, especially the speed. Microsoft OneDrive can process easily but that is not a convenient way to store pictures. Please advise

Flickr is everything you miss about social media. It's actually a super well-designed app compared to instagram, with no algorithmic ordering of posts (just chronological, thank you), the ability to save and remember posts you like, and a desktop version that is even better. I still don't remember why people abandoned Flickr, but it was and still remains the best way to share artistic images that the internet ever had. If you're sick of the frenetic empty scrolling that other social media has become, come on back to Flickr. I've been there since 2006!

Best Social Platform For Photography Enthusiasts. Flickr is the best social platform for photography enthusiasts. It provides a safe place to share your work and be inspired by the work of others. If you spend enough time on Flickr, your own photography will improve. Interacting with like minded people on Flickr gives you a sense of belonging to a world wide photography community. I have never seen so many amazing images in one place, the sheer volume is overwhelming. Hands down the best photography platform online today!

Good photo archive. Although Apple and Google will now save your pictures into their clouds automatically, Flickr is still a better choice for archiving your digital photos. The look and feel is very user-friendly, the uploading process, after a stretch of slowness a couple of years ago, is fast — and you can arrange for automatic, background uploading of new photos on your device if you wish. The Flickr Community functions and activity are nice enhancements to an otherwise utilitarian archiving service.

The best photo site. My important photos have been kept on Flickr for a number of years. Organizing them is easier done before upload and there are functions that I have yet to use. This is one site that has gotten even better after change. And the safest cloud for your pictures. Another thought to mention is although technically not an aggressive site like others, it’s easier to make real friends on Flickr. I started to just store pictures and have met some very nice people.

Best photo backup warehouse. First of all, a whole terabyte is a lot of space. Secondly, there is no loss of resolution, you can always obtain your original upload, even if the usual version displayed and/or shared be smaller. Third, you get much more control over your images than with other services (e.g. Apple’s) and the price is lower than others (e.g. Shoebox). I could go on with more details. I admit there are some features that can be improved. However, the main point is: install it it and try it. I like this so much I want everyone to get on board! As Yahoo! goes through changes we hope Flickr will always continue to grow.

Need fixing. I deleted Dropbox and Onedrive to use this app but now am not so sure I wanna keep using it!! This app take up 1.5gb on my phone which make no sense because it's a cloud app plus I only have 60 photos on this app so it definitely don't make any sense!!! I can delete data and documents with battery saver or other third party app while using Dropbox and Onedrive but it doesn't work on Flickr.. You guys need to do something about this!! Don't have time for nonsense!! Flickr is taking up 3.6gb on my iPhone I have to delete it 3 times per day to get space on my phone because that new clean cache feature doesn't work!!! I think it's time to stop using this app because now it's starting to take up 7gb of space on my device, NONSENSE!!!

Flickr is the best format to date. The talent showcased on Flickr is astounding. The in-app controls, i.e. description editing and privacy are user-friendly. For those of us who accumulated a ton of photos but hadn't upgraded to Pro yet, we were forced to make a decision to pay for Pro or lessen our content on their servers. I opted for the upgrade, hoping for more exposure and possible additional business ventures. IG's link to FB's business accounts is more expensive and riddled with even more junk to wade through. Even though Pro is in a trial run for me, I am almost certain to be pleased with my decision; and as long as pricing remains reasonable.

Where Am I??. I feel like I lost my best friend and I’m lost too. There’s a couple of things that come to mind: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” And “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.” I’ve been on Flickr for years and loved it. Now I can’t even sign on. Continued I want to scream every time I get told my password doesn’t work, even after I take the required steps to create a new password. I’m angry that I’ve received no reply. I have thousands of photos in Flickr and I can’t believe it is so difficult to sign in.

Great picture sharing app. I love to see the pictures posted from fellow travelers and people I don't know, yet have taken great pics in beautiful places. Also beautiful pictures of beautiful people with great vision, experiences and beautiful souls. I love you all, I've endured a rough life and started traveling to enjoy my life and forget the horrors of my past & present. Leaving the lies and denial behind. A picture tells the truth, people tell their versions of reality with no self knowledge. Thanks for sharing your pictures

Longtime user. I love Flickr but admit that I don’t use it nearly as much as I did five years ago. It’s beautiful layout and networking through groups is what has me coming back again and again. The one thing I don’t really like is the way users were discouraged to mention that their online shops (Etsy) - but I’m not sure if that’s still a rule. I guess the positive side of that restriction is that Flickr didn’t develop into a tacky “look at my sale!” Marketplace. But That leaves it as a space for Art, not just marketing , which is really needed in this day and age. So, bravo! Flickr for not selling out and making room for beauty

Good app. I have posted about 70 photos and joined a few groups and I can say it’s a good app. I use it mostly now to view wonderful bird photos from professionals at full resolution (unlike Instagram). It also allows you to see what camera, lens, and settings the photographer used to capture the image, which is a feature I find very useful. It’s very easy to be inspired by all the groups and great photography here. The only thing that annoyed me was when I deleted some pictures from my camera roll and it also removed them from my public photo stream.

App not connecting to IOS Photos. I can no longer upload my photos through the photos app. After updating Flickr, it no longer shows my albums, is defaulted to public (which was always set to private before) , and even not choosing an album it doesn’t upload. I hate uploading through the Flickr app as it stores everything in the cache and kills my phone memory storage, so I have to constantly delete and reinstall the app over and over. (Stop that!!) And it’s slower. And we’ve been asking for Live Photo support and longer video support forever. I don’t see anything better with the new ownership yet, only worse and I’ve been a paid pro member for over a decade. I’d hate to have to move all my photos but I will if things don’t get better.

App is missing a pretty big feature. Flickr is really cool platform for photographers and enthusiasts with many niche categories to suit your wants and needs. The only major issue I have with the app is that the flickrmail feature is nowhere to be seen, so you can have a smooth experience for everything else but then have to log on to the website on your phone to check messages and it's very annoying, because it's laid out completely different so and you won't even receive notifications for messages on the app, so if you don't check you won't know that you received anything.

Awesome app to backup your photos AND share your photography skills to people like me!!. This app is an amazing way to share your love for photography with people who enjoy it as much as you! It’s also awesome because I can make Albums and not just share my pictures with people who are much better Photographers than me. It’s also amazing because you can also like peoples photos and comment on them! It’s like a professional and less personal and social app like Instagram! I use this AND Instagram. I mainly use this app to get inspiration or tips for photography AND to backup my photos!

Child exploitation.. Use this app as a photographer to share my sport and portrait photos. For awhile I have been getting “faves” from people I do not know or follow, and I have never looked too far into it, until one of my pictures was added to a gallery with a very obscene name. To my disgust, I saw that many of these people who faved my pictures were all members of clubs flooded with nude pictures of females (and males too), and containing tens of thousands of members. I cannot believe this has been going on on my profile for YEARS now. Making the pictures private is not a viable option, as have sent my Flickr link all around so anyone can view albums of mine at ease, but I will be ending my pro subscription and making all of my pictures private very soon.

The best. Where else can you share your photos not only by album but by which privacy category the photo is set to. My family can see Photos that are appropriate for their eyes, my friends can see a wider range of my pictures. And the public more narrow selection. I don’t know of another site or app that allows privacy settings this specific. Also, they allow me to keep full resolution at whatever ratio and dimensions I choose. So much better than the other options out there.

Flickr is my home for photos. There are unlimited ways to share your photos online but there is only one place I call home - the Flickr. No doubt it is the largest collection of high quality photos, taken from photographers, amateur or professional, around the world; but the main feature that has me stuck with it is that it provides detail photo info such as camera used, lens, aperture, ISO, exposure time, which help me learn and improve, not to mention that the description and background, tags, groups added by the member give useful information besides talking photos.

Pros and cons. Pro: unlimited upload Can load quality images Easy organization of photos in collections and albums Able to download my photos from Flickr onto other PC computers . Clever organizing tools Option of editing photos with Flickr software Easy communication with fellow photographers all over the world Able to find specific Photography interest groups from people all over the world Detailed exif of photos help you learn from others (this can be turned off if you wish to hide it). And last but not least it is totally FREE without papa commercials!!!!!!!! CONs Lots of poor quality photography and Cheap quality interest groups Porn, solicitation and swinger couple recruitment ** (this is the price you have to pay to make it open and available throughout the world on the Internet) And last but not least it will soon be sold out and we will all pay the price

Waiting for this app to get better. Flickr Uploadr takes forevr to upload your photos, particularly if you’re uploading a mix of still pictures and videos. In fact I’d rather not upload videos to Flickr at all, but since they give you no choice in the matter I keep Uploadr turned off by default and only turn it on once I’ve moved videos elsewhere off my smartphone. I guess the ability to apply multiple tags (or as they call it “add to multiple albums”) is a great feature, but generating a slide show from an album ain’t so great and did I mention it takes FOREVR for Uploadr to upload your photos? I’m really quite annoyed by this, particularly now they’ve jacked up their Pro “membership” option.

Moving forward at long last!. I’ve been a Flickr user for a LOOOOOONG time and I’m feeling encouraged. The “new” ownership at SmugMug have been consistently working at improving Flickr. Instead of trying to slap a fresh coat of paint over the service like Yahoo did, they are slowly but surely refactoring and rebuilding the service from the inside out and it shows. I don’t expect Flickr to ever unseat Instagram for consumers, that opportunity has long since passed, but there is clearly a labor of love going on to make it the best service for enthusiasts again, as well as a viable, stable business. I’m encouraged and excited as pieces of the service that have been neglected for over a decade are getting remade in ways that I KNOW will let the company do really awesome things in the future. It’s so easy to let tech debt pile up, and it’s a hard, often thankless task to pay it down, but I see it and I appreciate it. I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Fresh and refreshing. We all feel safe and comfortable in our routines. But a new approach refreshes our outlook and clears out the cobwebs of drudgery. The way we had viewed our Flickr friends was good but routine. — Make mine an expresso today and hold the sugar. Wow. That’s strong. And the new manner Flickr has applied for us to view and interact is also strong and refreshing. Now if we could only break out of our routine “style” and photograph in a new and refreshed manner. Everyone looks to develop their personal style when in fact they are only building boundaries on their expressiveness. Cheers. Bo Dudas

Not trendy, but handy. I guess Flickr used to be a bigger deal, but whatever its history, these days I find it an extremely useful site. For a pretty low annual fee, you can display a ton of photos. Just as pure storage it’s worth it, but it’s also a great display website, and also a place to see incredible photos taken around the world. I don’t participate much in the social aspects flicker but there’s that too. A real bargain, and if you’re at all dissatisfied with where you’re storing and displaying photos on the web, you should take a look.

Can’t Create Account, No Explanation. I have tried multiple times to create a new account, but the process fails after verifying my email address every time. There is no explanation. After email verification, I try to log in, the error says “Invalid email or password.” Useless. I use a masked email address because so many companies misuse or sell their users email addresses. Maybe this is why it fails? But if so, there are two problems: 1) The error should state something about the true reason for the failure. It should happen way before I get the the email verification. 2) If Flickr really won’t let me sign up using a masked email address, why? Why do they need my true email address? I don’t need to use Flickr so badly that I need to risk spam email. I’m sticking with 500px instead.

Great app with one really sore point for me.. Generally, I really do love the app. Here’s my one pet peeve: I like to put location information with my pictures, usually just simple city and country, but I find I cannot do that unless I’m within five or ten miles of the place. This is very frustrating, especially when other apps (insta, Facebook, etc) don’t have this problem. Quick example: I live thirty miles outside of New York, but when I’m home I cannot add location for anywhere in New York City except, maybe, grand central terminal. Another, I spent part of October in London and Paris, but once home, I couldn’t tag any of my photos with a location in these cities.
