Medscape Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Informative and easy to use. Has pretty much everything I need, from drug information, formulary (although seems incomplete for some drugs), to disease overview/treatment. Also very impressed that you can connect to dose calculator directly from drug dosing. I’m very glad that I found this app now that I don’t have free access to lexicomp or uptodate as a student.

Won’t load articles to read. Love this app but now I get “no internet connection” when I try to read an article even though the other apps on my phone run fine and I can see the articles listed.

Ads are ridiculous!!. I love Medscape; it’s a great resource at my fingertips. Lately, however, I can’t read one sentence without having ads insert themselves directly into the text I’m trying to read. Getting information is much more time consuming, trying to re-find the spot where I was reading because the ads move the text! This must be resolved or I will have to find another resource.

One suggestion. Great resource but I would like to make one suggestion: make the “save” feature available whenever you view an article. As it stands now if there is an article I’d like to save (after clicking on the link on the homepage for example) I have to go to search then News filter, type in the article name, then click on the article, and then the share icon in the top right hand corner is available to save to favorites. And if there’s a link in the article itself you have to repeat the whole process. It’s very time consuming so please change this feature. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this app. As a kid, being able to look see apps about things I’m interested is awesome. I like to draw and label and color drawings about the anatomy of the heart, lungs, etc. I want to be a cardiologist so this is really great help to getting on my way.

Best days are in the past. Medscape was once one of my favorite apps, so much information at the touch of a finger. Extremely informative and useful in the clinical setting. Now it has been plagiarized with nonstop adverts worse than any clickbait website online. It is literally impossible to get through one paragraph of an article, use one tool, read one recommendation without an ad appearing an replacing the text. I get the point of adverts, and I understand the app is free...but balance is something that so desperately needs to be established between advertisers and consumers. Until then...count me out.

New Intrusive ads. I don’t know when this changed, but when using the app the ads, which had previously been fairly non-intrusive, now pop-up and cover the screen whenever I visit a new page or topic. This is very annoying and I’m not happy with the change! I have been using Medscape for years as a quick, reliable medical reference and this change is very noticeable and very unwelcome and I may have to find another pocket reference.

Political-NOT-Medical. This app used to be great for quick references. Sadly, this app now fills your inbox with very biased politically slanted emails. When I attempted to get ahold of the developer or anyone from its service regarding this (because THEY WOULDN'T STOP EVEN AFTER I UNSUBSCRIBED!!!), nobody ever responded. This is UNETHICAL to say the very least and far from professional. Regardless of political view, nobody wants it in the work place, ESPECIALLY in the medical profession. BOTTOMLINE: because this app is now something else than it claims to be, it continues emails and WONT DELETE ACCOUNT, and THERE IS ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP - ESPECIALLY TO THE Medically-minded.

Ads destroying product. I have used this app (along with several others) for professional reference for years. I understand that it is free and Medscape needs a way to sustain the service, but the ads have made it impractical to use for work. There are times when ads pop up repeatedly in the middle of text. Not worth it - too many other good resources that are available these days. ***update: I thought it could not get worse, but it has. It is, essentially useless now

Very useful, but used to be better.. I often recommend that people use the Mayo Clinic site if they don’t have Sci/Med background, but I send them to Medscape if they do. Unfortunately, both the website and the app are now harder to use than they used to be. It’s not that the information isn’t there, it’s that they’re forcing you to click to the next page and that makes hard too read and share. It used to be possible to forward a chunk of text to people who needed information. But unless you want to make a career out of cut and paste, it’s quite difficult now. This all gets back to the fundamental questions facing the business of medicine today; should an informed citizenry be a goal, or should profit?. Having said all this, I do rely on this site, I just wish it had a little bit more accessible structure.

App crashes and sometimes can’t find articles. Oftentimes this app will crash, when opening a push notification. I click on the push notification and pretty much get a black screen. Found an interesting article while searching web. It was a Medscape article. I clicked on article and it gave me an option to open the app. Once in the app, it doesn’t take me to the article. So I copy and paste the title of the article in the search bar on the app and I get nothing…

Long Time Invaluable Resource. After 15 years as a Mental Health Clinically Designated Interventionist I returned to 4 years of Nursing school. Now, 10 years later, my professional focus has shifted but not my ‘go to’ resource! Medscape has remained an invaluable resource for both maintaining CEU as well as cogent and valuable contemporary research articles. Research presentations are so well vetted that they can be shared with colleagues as well as patient/clients. Thanks Medscape for being a long term friend

Usefulness of the app has suffered greatly. 1. The app has been valuable because of accurate and extensive information. But the app cannot be used efficiently with the presence of excessive and advertising. 2. The app presented valuable information quickly to both lay users and medical professionals. With the hands, the app seems unprofessional and could easily be taken by Lee persons as a website primarily intended to sell medical products. You have greatly cheapens the app. 3. If you need to monetize the app, then consider an ad free version that professionals in the interested lake people could pay a reasonable fee for as an in app purchase.

Breast cancer treatment disparities among white women vs women of color. As an elderly lay and white woman this was informative. As was also a caretaker of my adoptive grandson with autism severe IDD as well as seizure disorder for 25 years. He had some severe aggressive behaviors. I ignored my own medical needs. Had Medicaid and fairly recently got belated Medicare at age 72. I’m thankful. However I’m now being treated for breast cancer. East diagnosed in early September 2022, finally got lumpectomies in December then full mastectomies end of December. Am on two meds for HRpositive/ HR 2 negative. It’s extremely difficult to navigate who to call on the medical team. Leaving messages still doesn’t help. Amazing. I know the staff is busy. Treatments seem like I’m on a convayor ( spelling)belt . The waiting…while clock is ticking in the pay parking lot . Rooms are crowded still and worry about what disease I’m about to pick up. I’m no longer employable so it’s money to spend that I don’t have. These are my concerns as an elderly woman . Your informative research helps me realize I’m not alone. Thank you for all you do.

Internet not recognized. Articles are no longer readable because a message appears saying Internet connection is needed. This, though my wireless is on, and I am connected to the Internet. Why has this app become unusable for news? Why so many ads which cover-up content? since others have reported the same problem, why has the developer not given any answers?

Version 11.6.1 is better. Version 11.6 had stability issues, but they’ve been corrected here. App provides a lot of great information. I highly recommend it for getting in-depth medical information.

Regular bugs & crashes make app unusable. Overall the app has been a nice resource to have in the past, but as of late it's nearly impossible to actually use without the whole app crashing or freezing. Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter what information/resources are available when said things cannot be reliably retrieved.

Non Paying Surveys. On multiple occasions, After completing surveys that should be reimbursed, the Medscape program will state the survey has been closed or submit an error message, thus refusing to appropriately reimburse for surveys being completed. Then they will offer to correct the issue and make payment, only to, months later, state they made an error and payment will not be made. I have emails backing this all up. Criminal what they are doing, I’m no longer wasting my time for surveys that they lie about to not reimburse.

A bit of bug maintenance overdue. I tapped on developer support instead of writing a review because reviews are sometimes unfair, but the link didn’t work. The reason I am trying to reach the developer is because the notifications are currently worthless. When you click them and it brings you to the MEDSCAPE app, it never brings you to the story/info from the notification. Those notifications are what interest the readers and remind that the MEDSCAPE app exists and they. have been broken for quite a while.

Great interaction reference with meds and herbs. Great interaction reference for meds and herbs. It doesn’t have all herbs listed but it does have a lot. Certain herbs & medications can be deadly you seriously must check and if herbs are not listed then check with your pharmacist.

A must-have app; can be better. I am a medical student and I use Medscape on a daily basis; it’s the quickest and best way to look up or check medical terms. Lots of functionality. Great. Please update the app to have multi-task and split-screen/overlay on iPadOS. It’s very important for me to simultaneously take notes or to have my reference book besides Medscape and see both. Also being able to have multiple windows is really useful. Thanks

Crashing!!. I use this app every day to check meds and doses, use calculators, and get medical news. Since the last update it now crashes for me EVERY time. SO frustrating!! The news portion of the app could be stronger, but this is minor since I get most of my medical news updates from Medscape's emails.

Very good resource for notes and classwork. High school student here, I’m in a biomedical program and hope to go to nursing school. I use Medscape lots for classwork and notes as well as to learn more about topics that interest me. I like it a lot, it’s helped me pass a few classes LOL.

Repeat Crashes since recent update. Obviously excellent resource of concise medical information that is useful in my daily clinical practice. However, since the most recent update, the app repeatedly crashes when scrolling through an article. Needs prompt fixing.

Frustrated by "update available" freezing app. Excellent app for drugs & interesting related medical articles. However, it has repeatedly frozen upon opening the app, and updates cannot be loaded from app store. Nor does closing & re-opening the app work. Rather useless when trying to quickly check or review information during a busy day!

Updated - fixed (Keeps crashing). Normally I love this app, but since the last update it crashes every single time I try to open it. Even tried deleting and reinstalling but not change. They need to fix this update big. —————————————————- Update: they fixed the bug! My #1 medical reference app again!

Exceptional. I use the app almost daily. It’s been a great tool to have and I recommend it. The past week when I open the app I’m getting a ‘looks like we crashed’ or a ‘send crash data’ pop up on the screen. I’m also unable to read articles as it says ‘internet required’, which of course I am connected. I realize this is a tech question so if anyone is monitoring this, thank you in advance.

Error message saying internet connection required to install. I had been using this app for years! I loved how everything was laid out for drugs brand/generic, adr, images, and useful info. I would use it at work or when I was in class. Now that I’ve updated my new iPhone it just gives me this error message “internet connection required to install”. Can someone help?

Ads are ridiculous. Honestly I can’t even read a single section without the ads popping up between text or taking over the whole page. I’ve used medscape for years and I didn’t mind the one or two ads here or there but this is downright obnoxious and makes the app unusable. Either make an affordable ad-free version (not a subscription) or reduce the intrusive ads. Please. For the sake of healthcare providers who use this, don’t make me switch to a different source.

Warning: Do not download - full of ads. Note: Hold-touch on this review to thumb up if you find it helpful. Otherwise, the app will not change. (I will re-post this review with every update that doesn’t change the ads.) I’ve been using this app likely longer than most of its active current developers. I used to recommend it to others in training. However, recently, the ads have become an insult and an attack on the users. Right now, if you click on a notification for an article, automatically an ad from industry will pop up, which cannot be closed and obstructs the entire article. And when you try to close it, the entire article closes. With the poor search function, you cannot even get search for the article to get back to it. this is not to mention, but other ads when you look at a drug are engineered to pop up exactly where you are about to press. For example, if you open the drug reference, they know you want to click on dosing, and they engineered enough seconds for the ad to pop up exactly when you are about to click on the link, so that you click on the ad automatically opening the ad. This is nothing but an attack on the user. If it had a paid ad-free option, it would be worth it. But currently, with its current trajectory toward ads that are more intrusive than spam website, do not use it. You are better off going with a paid alternative.

Enough with the Ads. I have always loved this app. I use it all the time. Unfortunately, every time I use it, the Tecfidera ad pops up. Not just one time, but constantly. It’s so irritating that I get frustrated, close the app and use another one (that I hardly ever used before you added these ads). I agree with the other reviews. It is harder to find information on it now. The more I search, the more the ad pops up, the more I dislike the app.

Medical Rotations Life Saver. As an MS-3 on the cusp of wrapping up my third year, I have to say this was my GO TO reference source for clinical rotations. A lot of people will say resources like UpToDate and Epocrates are the gold standards, and while they are incredible, neither possesses the ease of use, scope of information, or clinical tools that this app has. I have a paid subscription to those other sources through my school, but this is essentially the only reference I use and it’s completely free for anyone. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone and you better believe I won’t be without it next year, as a resident, or as an attending.

Best online medication database. This is my go-to app for all things drug-related. It provides easy to understand info as well as more specific and very accurate information like pharmacological drug mechanisms, half-lives, metabolism, etc. App makes it very easy to find any possible drug interactions, as well as side effects.

Problem with internet connection. From 3 days ago medscape doesn’t search for drugs that isn’t exist in offline data , i think there is problem in my internet connection the i replaced the internet connection and uninstall the app and downloaded it again the app doesn’t open and there is a message “ internet connection is required to install “ please solve this problem because medscape is my fav app

Ads make it very annoying!. I first downloaded Medscape when I was a medical student. I have used it many times in the past, but now I tend to open the app as a last resource. Why? Because of the annoying ads! I’m thinking about paying an uptodate subscription and say farewell to MedScape for good if they don’t remove the ads. We are medical professionals seeking information for the good of our patients, not to pass the time because we are bored. I hope that clarifies my disappointment and reminds you of the purpose of this app and any other source of medical information. At least come with a solution like an advertisement-free version that is not free...

Information Up-To-Date and Easily Accessable. I had no issues while using this app and it is up to date on information. Additionally, the app is easily accessible and one can focus on specific areas that they are interested in. This app is especially helpful for those who do not have a health background because it explains several different areas that one may want to know.

Issues with advertisements. I have used this app frequently for my CMEs since I am a private duty nurse. Recently there have been ads come up on bottom of some of the quiz pages, they block the question so you cannot complete your answers and receive credits. There is no way to remove ad box or raise text above it to complete. If you open ad and try to go back it takes you back to list of educational information. I have started 2 quizzes tonight and am unable to receive credit because I cannot answer! Very frustrating!

Ads seriously interfere. I’ve used the web version for years and will continue to, and the app is ok for a quick drug lookup. But the ads in this app version are so disruptive for any long article that it’s unusable—both because they suddenly pop up in the middle of what I’m reading, and because scrolling freezes for many seconds at a time while an ad is preparing to pop up

Ads have become completely intrusive.. I used Medscape throughout medical school and it quickly became my go to resource. I’ve used essentially ever major medical app and this was hands down my favorite. Now the app will not allow a section of text to be ad free. I’ll scroll down while reading and a new ad will insert itself between the text. This is exceptionally distracting and interrupts reading. Why can’t they just keep the ad banners down at the bottom? There is already one there anyway? I probably will be uninstalling Medscape, which is very disheartening because I’ve been using it for so long. In their quest for ad space they have lost someone to advertise to, and I’ve lost a great resource. There’s no winners in this scenario. It was a good run while it lasted and I’ll always be appreciative towards the app, but I can no longer support it.

Recent updates. I have used Medscape since prior to 1998. I have taken advantage of the Ceu’s for several specialties I am involved with. Always satisfied. The update I was almost forced to to perform turned this site into a chaotic fiasco that prevented me from obtaining infomation by constantly changing the page into a whole page advertisement that blocked out the info I had needed as well as jugling constantly. I took app off my computer. I am attempting to replace app and will give it another try. Over 20 years without problems. Whats happened? Mary C. Scarboro

iPad OS Multitasking Support. Love the app. Use it to use as a reference when researching a topic or simply refreshing information during my clinical rotations. Specially like the ability to have the database offline. Sadly can’t have the app run side by side another app. This would be so useful as I could be taking notes on one side of the screen and reading Medscape on the other. Hope this feature gets added in the near future.

The ADS! Hate it!. Edit: Still can’t deal with the ads, now it’s on the bottom of the green and five times randomly in the text. I don’t use Medscape as frequently as I used to but it still remains an annoyance. Once again, I’d pay for an ad free experience. I love Medscape and I use it daily but I cannot deal with the ads anymore. They are intrusive and so irritating. I'll gladly pay a fee to use this app without the ads. It's taking me a lot longer to find the info I need in a hurry because of these adverts. Won't someone think of the healthcare professionals??

Ads. I understand that this is a free app, and that ad support is therefore essential. But ads in this app are getting more and more intrusive. What used to be a banner at the bottom or on the page as on is scrolling is now a pop up that interrupts the entire flow (in addition to banner ads that are still there), that need to be manually closed out. Many of the pop up ads are titled "Manufacturer Announcement," which would be appropriate if these were pop ups about emerging drug safety alerts or recalls, but they are just ads and nothing more. They make Medscape feel like a cheap website with questionable integrity. I have always liked Medscape as a quick and organized reference, but it is becoming less appealing, not because of content but because of ad formatting and interruptions. I'd gladly pay a reasonable annual fee for an ad free version with premium features. But the free app is heading in the wrong direction.

I want to be clear. I am like this app a lot, but there are some things that are holding me back from using it daily. In my previous review I mentioned that there was no way to send articles via text message and there was no way to save articles for later. A developer responded that there was a way to save articles for later, which is true except in certain circumstances. If you search for an article or click on any article after opening the app, you can save it for later. However, if you get push notification about a story that you might like and you click on it, it does not give you the option to save it for later. I would use this app much more frequently if these two features were in it. I currently almost don’t use it at all because I can’t share through text message. Other than that it’s a great resource and I hope it continues to improve in the future

Need a no ad version. In the past I enjoyed Medscape as a quick reliable resource. The ads now popping up are affecting upload, distract from material and there seems to be no way to remove them. It is a shame but I will now be researching another app that is respectfully of the practice of medicine.

Alex S. The Medscape App is a very informative and a great way to check and see images of medications to ensure your taking the correct medication and to see different images of medications from other pharmaceutical companies which are the same medications but look different in color, shape and markings on the medications to make sure your taking the exact same medications that are prescribed to you. Overall a great App

CEO Clark + Company Indianapolis, IN. We are 15th in IS population, IU School of Medicine ranks number #40 in Cancer Centers nationally per US News & World Report (2021), but our physician specialists are in 4th place out of 50 states in physician and hospital executive compensation! You think there a connection between CEO / physician compensation and health care prices ?

Once great, now mediocre. There has been a steady decline in the quality of this app. Once a stellar resource for medications it is now riddled with problems. Frequently unresponsive with occasional crashes it also takes a long time to load and actually use. There is also the relatively new issue of ads in the last 1-2 years. While the content remains good regarding its pharmacopoeia, the app is unusable. Will shift to uptodate and DynaMed in its place.

Wonderful app...destroyed by ad barrage. I love this app, i have used it almost every day in clinical and hospital situations. It is updated daily and provides accurate information. The only con to this app is the near constant barrage of ads when you are trying to actually read the wonderful information contained within. Every time you scroll to read the next paragraph blam you are hit with another bit of advertisement for some medication...

Informative. Lately, the articles in the “News” section won’t open. It says I need an internet connection, which I have, but it just keeps the loading icon spinning forever. I end up having to search for the particular article by Googling it.

Very Good App. In my opinion this is the best and most informative free medical app on the iPhone Medscape even went the extra mile emailing me when the app hadn't installed correctly on my phone.

Malfunction. Tried to create a free account and would not let me would just come up and say ‘log in failed’ couldn't even use it

More than a must have!!!. I'm a nursing student and this has been a life saver! It's been fantastic for when I've been on clinical placement! Also a great resource for those dreaded assignments that you can never find decent information for!

Excellent reference!. Provides detailed accurate information on just about anything you need.

Drug-drug interaction checker. A great resource in general and excellent that it is free, however, some of the interaction explanations appear odd. For example, trimethoprim interacts with methotrexate through additive folate antagonism and this is a well known mechanism, but the interaction checker highlights competition for protein binding as the mechanism behind this interaction. Not only is this incorrect it could affect the way the interaction is dealt with in practice as protein binding interactions are typically transient and overcome by equilibrium of drug clearance following a brief period of high drug levels.

Awesome app but crashes!. One of the most comprehensive apps out there - free or not! But crashes incessantly with this new update :( Would be great if this could be fixed!

Great reference for grugs. It's great reference for grugs and handy. Extra resources are also available, which is also great.

Thorough and simple.... Thorough and simple this is a very good app particularly in terms of pharmaceutical information. The product would be 5 stars if it included international names/equivalents for each drug AND the interface was made a little more elegant or at least updated for the iPhone's RETINA display.

Medscape. I love the Medscape app. I have had this since it was first released and believe it is essential for anyone with interest let alone working in any health field. I have accessed Medscape articles online for more that a decade and this just makes it simpler and more convenient. So handy catching up wherever you are, checking facts, drugs etc. Wonderful! Tony Peck

Medscape for iPhone. One of the best apps available: It is totally free and does not contain anoying adds: You can view most of it off line, and there is the ability to save articles to view later when required; you need to be on-line for updates, the best part is that they send you reminders, when new information is available: It has American drugs eg 'acetaminophen' and 'meperidine' but you soon get used to these: It has sections on Drugs, OTCs & Herbals, Diseases & Conditions, Progedures & Protocols, plus an interaction checker that works really well and gives the mechanism and suggestions. There is also a search function for the whole database or just sections eg Drugs or Conditions or Procedures. Do not hesitate to download this great app if you are in any way involved in the medical profession.

Medscape. Excellent reference tool at work without hunting for a book just flip open your ipad and the answer is usually there - simple to use is what makes it great

Medscape drug information. Excellent tool for daily use. Please continue to keep this free.

Superb....simply awsome. Simply a superb app for me - a pharmacist with one touch info available anywhere I go...hats off to the makers of this app and making it totally freeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Great database, price is right. While not as good as the paid alternatives (Lexi, Skyscape), which can end up costing a few hundred dollars, Medscape is a wonderful alternative for any physicians, med students or premed students.

Good app -- American reference though. This is a good medical reference. The only downside is that it's an American reference and you have to keep that in mind as there are plenty of local variations.

Most useful. Great app. Missing some generic names for my country but otherwise is a valuable and easy to use resource. A must have.

Must get!. Absolutely great, no ads either, heard about this from word of mouth. Many practitioners refer to this. Proof that it's rather reliable information. Note that drug brands are American, so you may not find some Australian brand names, but you can utilize the Internet to find the American versions to search with this application.

Reg nurse. Excellent, easy reference and resource. Quick to find topics, overviews well written and useful when time is short.

Useful mobile tool. I found this a very useful tool for reference. I did find the navigation a little cumbersome and if you are not well-versed with the iPhone keyboard, it will be a slow process. This is not the fault of the app though, which will provide information when required.

Disappointing. Too many annoying ads. Font too small not optimized across all sectors of the App

Great App. Fantastic app! Very helpful in clinical practice. Would like a few improvements: 1. Multitasking support - so the app doesn't start back at the very start each time it opens 2. DDx by Symptoms 3. Retina Display Support - some of the graphics are pixelated on my retina display Thanks for making a great app at an even better price!

Dr. Medscape for iphone and are great applications for all medicos, readily available right in your hand including great references. I strongly recommend that all of u buy a I phone or any other equivalent device to down load this application. Meher

Awesome. Use this app most days and have had zero problems with content or app functionality.

Must have app. I'm a Registered Nurse & I found this app very helpful, would be even better if it was Australian based with regards to the medication content.

Very very good. This would be an excellent app if you had to pay for it. The fact that it is free makes it quite remarkable.

Great App for a registered nurse. This is the most comprehensive medical app which is user friendly and always updating. Possibly one down side it is an American app which sometimes does not show some drugs used in Australia.

Great. I use it when I wanna quickly look something up, and don't wanna have to sift through uptodate.

User friendly. Very good app, I use it frequently during clinical and on the run, it provides a basic understanding of medical and pharmacology.

Generally great value app. Comprehensive application with an expanse of information. Drug information provides a good alternative to MIMS under most circumstances. Only difficulty noted is not being able download clinical references for offline viewing. Checking updates brings message stating no new updates but then still requests Internet connection when loading references.

Excellent!. I’m a newly qualified nurse. I’ve found this app so helpful and informative. I’ve particularly found it useful when on placement and I want to research a condition further or explore the possible treatments for the illness, symptoms and treatments. The staff have even marvelled at it when I was able to identify (via the app) what tablet had been found on the ward floor! I’d highly recommend. I’ll continue to use it to further extend my knowledge. Thank you so much 🙏

Helpful. I use it for a quick reference at the bedside every day. Easy to use, all the info is to the point.

Allfinestbrands. It's the best apps ever, easy to use and so accurate as well. After all it's free and I so recommend this apps to be downloaded. It's for all nurses and doctors as well. It's 100% satisfaction and pleasant to work with it. Thank you

iphone medscape app. Great application for free medication reference, and a good source for keeping your knowledge uptodate. I have always enjoyed the CME articles from medscape. The downside with the iphone app is that you can't choose which CME article to read. It would be nicer if there was a list of CME articles to choose from (rather than the 2 that's randomly generated), just like the PC version

Major Advance. The emedicine database is remarkable - a living clinically focussed and growing body of information that rivals a text book. All the rest is a bonus.

Best app out!!!!. Really good reference. Would be better if you could customize your country so as to search for brands and product images specific to Aus. Also would be useful if you had OTC guidelines for specific conditions. Also a device demo section ie how to use an MDI either via pics or a video

Information Technology at its Best. This user friendly app literally places a superb medical database at your fingertips in real time. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous. This is a great app. User friendly, up to date, realistic, no adds, I like CME features. It is a must to have. Thanks

Fantastic. As a medical student, this is the app I use the most! Everything is easy to access and information is concise an correct. Highly reccommended!

BRILLIANT worth at least six stars.. Covers all specialties as well as the corporate & political landscape. Regular updates keep this source current. This is the best and most informative App of its kind. And it's free...bravo.

Best medical app. I believe this app is the one I use the most on my iPad, great medical information, always up to date and you don't even need an Internet connection.

Can't believe it's free. Fantastic app. Great resource for med students, doctors etc. Provides detailed information on diagnosis, management, pathogenesis of many conditions with references. Database constantly expanding with frequent updates. Software badly needs an update for iPhone4/iOS4.x as it does not support multi-tasking and is actually much slower than on my old 3G running iOS3.x. Otherwise it's just amazing.

Great - With possibilities I being even better. Amazing app thanks for creating one of the best medical apps on ios. Would be even better if it was more Australian friendly with drug names, as well as having the ability to download images to access without an Internet connection. Thanks ^_^

Student. Most useful app I have found. Has not let me down whenever I have had a question. Thanks. Would only be better if you had the option of downloading the images and keeping them.

Fantastic. Comprehensive up to date info. As a paramedic its great to quick reference usual medical conditions or poly-pharmacy overdoses before you arrive at a job.

Good information, usability is a major problem. For a free app' Medscape truly excels in the amount of information available. The drug interaction checker is one of the best that I have found, leaving the MIMS version for Windows Mobile (Australian version) trailing behind. However, the need to search multiple volumes of screen headings (Emergency, Criticl Care, etc, followed by the multiple chapters (without cross referencing) makes this application much less useful in a busy clinical life. It could be improved so much by adding a search option that highlighted the section subject coupled with a vertical bar that allowed immediate access to the susection being sought, i.e. pathophysiology, treatment etc. It is such a shame that this truly impressive and FREE resource renders itself so irrelevant in moment to moment clinical practice through its cumbersome software.

A Library in your pocket. This app saves having to make visits to the hospital library or having to carry reference booklets while on the go.

Vamos medscape!!. You have to register after downloading this app, but trust me it's worth it. Now i can access a huge database of medical info (including pathophysiology) offline on my ipod! Amaze. In love. Ajde.

Dr. An excellent resource. A huge range of topics with detailed background and clinical information. The photos are easy to access and the search for topics by section or word search is fantastically fast. I have found it very useful and easy to use in my work in general practice. Well done.

Really good app. This app is great but would be even better if the drug names were also in Australian, hard to find some of the drugs because we call them by different name

Med scape. This wonderful app which keeps you updated on latest information. It's an easy access tool to refresh your mind on medical issues...

Medscape. Excellent app! The fact that it's free is a bonus. This one is actually worth paying for!

Fantastic!. I can't believe it's free. Lots of great detail. Easy to search for topics. I like the news section and the ability to save favorite articles.

Gr8. It has everything ER doc would need.

Good but Results Questionable. I primarily bought the app because I was looking for a drug interaction checker and I thought what better way than to have one on my iPod. When I first tested it, I thought that it was great. However, for some unknown jump in logic, I decided to test the same interactions on the website. Needless to say I was very surprised that the results for the same search were very different! On the iPod, it showed a "Serious" interaction and on the website, it found no interaction. Which one do you believe? This then begs the question, which other interactions can be trusted? I like the "News" section and some of the other info on the site so that gave the 3 Star rating otherwise it would have been either a 1 or 2. Medscape needs to address the potentially erroneous results issue in a timely manner.

MD. Wonderful, up to date, well organized, easy to navigate, accurate & practical. I highly recommend it. Thank you for the team who wrote it.

Annoying ads. Used to be the most wonderful app. Super useful and easy to use. Evernote since ads have been integrated (especially the new moving ones) it's become essentially unusable. They should have a paid version that gets rid of ads

Great resource. I absolutely love this app! I encourage my students to download it so they can learn about prescription drugs. The only thing that would make it better is if it listed Canadian drugs as well.

Medscape. Excellent app use it a lot in my daily office

Utile, rapide et gratuit!. Application fort utile, facile d'emploi, avec un bon contenu canadien et, enfin, une section "pharmacologie". Les CME sont intéressants, mais l'option recherche n'est valable que pour les USA

Excellent. Awesome app (better than epocrates) found it faster, better layout, contain Canadian meds and even database is better. Hope the pill identification will be available next update.

Merci!. Excellente application; vraiment surprenant que c'est gratuit.

Very good app. Amazing app for medical professionals

Just a nurse. Suites me much better than the Skyscape with its cheap interface

Erroro. Recently This app in ios has trouble , i cant use it

Excellente!. Très pratique et facile d'accès! Avec quel facilité on peut vérifier les interactions des médicaments. Je l'espérais depuis longtemps. Merci Loue

Very helpful. I have been using this app since nursing school and I love it!

The best. It's really the best application that I've ever seen, you can find anything you want and it can work off line too which is awesome! Not to mention it's free!! I guess every physician should get this application.

Awesome reference. This app is a life changer, very clear, concise and organized. I like the bookmarking on the app. I can’t seem to do the bookmark on the actual website. Overall very useful.

Awesome App. One stop shop for medication searches. Excellent Canadian content!!!

Better than epocrates. Finally a drugs app fast and comprehensive. Better and faster than epocrates whose I never liked! Also contains more Canadian brands

Abder. Just AWESOME!

App won’t install. Every time I try to log into this app after I install it the message I receive is “ internet connection is required to install. retry “ which is ridiculous since I am hooked up to the internet. Useless

Amazing Resource. I can’t thank Medscape enough. It is hands down the best resource for medical information. Keep doing the great work you do. A+

Canadian Content. The only drug guide on the iPhone I have found that has Canadian brand names. Also, it is much faster and more responsive than ePocrates for the iPhone.

Fantastic app. Very informative and intuitive to use.. I love this app. It is intuitive to use. It provides great information, including interactions between medications.

Useful and easy. I like this app and will use it often. Interaction checker is nice and to the point. User friendly and straightforward.

Update Problem. Since the update yesterday the app on all my devices gives a warning “unable to connect to Medscape”. Needs new update to fix update.

Excellent app. I really like this iPhone version of Medscape. One of my favorite is the CME. Once you log into your account, you can earn cme credits when you read and answer the questions after the article. It is a great resource for physicians.

Very good. This is a very nice little app that is fast, easy to navigate and up to date. I really like that it has Canadian content, not a ton, but it's a good start. I really hope that the next update comes out with an easier to navigate saved items because if you have a fair number it's currently difficult to quickly find what you want. One also can't complain about the price (I would pay a couple bucks for this app I like it that much).

Very good but.... It’s a very good application! Everything in it is useful and knowledgeable. The only downside is that it’s only on English thus the website is offered in English, French, Portuguese, German and Spanish. It would be PERFECT if it was translated to others languages as the website is.

Superb. For the active clinician, there simply is no other app that comes close. Exhaustive medical reference, drug guide and CME all in one app! And it's free!

Font. Great resource! Please make the font adjustable.

D'un grand aide.. Absolument indispensable pour la pratique d'un GP. 5 étoiles si vous y ajouter la liste des médicaments canadiens.

Signing up. Hi, I'm a student who hasn't even graduated high school, yet alone medical school but I am very curious about medical procedures and modern treatments. May I suggest an option that is labeled "Other" when you have to enter your profession so that other young people can sign in without pretending to be a medical professional or just listing the profession that they wish to have when they are older. Thanks

Osteopathy reference. Great reference in clinic when faced with unusual cases, to review common allopathic medical approach as well as avoiding conflicting advice for patients. Beautiful app. Works like a dream.

Good source of medical news. For a free app, it provides a handy source of health-related news. I have not used any other functions. Features wish list: hiding or greying read articles; preventing duplication of articles across different Topic groups; a quick option to send the article to someone else. It would be fantastic to have complete access to all of medscape through this app, but that's really too much to ask from a free program. Thanks for publishing this.

SUPER!. Better than I imagined it could ever be!

Just great!. Use it a lot

Dr. Very useful in practise

Informative. In the words of Trump, very very very good

Love the app but now it doesn’t show pregnancy classification. I am a dentist and absolutely love this app, however this week I noticed they removed the pregnancy classification. It tells you how it affects pregnancy and breastmilk but no more classification added to the drugs. I hope they fix this soon

Very fast!. Much faster than ePocrates, & virtually the same information. A must have for all doctors, all levels.

Finally.... Have been waiting for this for a long time. Good interface, would be great to include Canadian physicians/pharmacies/hospitals as well.

Just like the online version but in your pocket!. Superb, your favourite on line medical reference tool in your pocket. Highly recommend this one. Well written articles backed by peer reviewed journal references. An essential tool for the discerning evidence based practitioner. You can also download all 3500+ references onto your pod gratis (needing only then to go online for the images and videos) which is great if you need to check up a condition in an area without wifi/3G access such as a plane/tube/subway/hospital ward. I'ld recommend this to fellow medical practitioners.

Helpful. A lot of knowledges Thanks

Temako. The best Health App so far. I refer to it only in every medical issue I need to know. Thank you for thinking about and creating an App so good.

Bias Reporting!!!. Why has this site become a politically bias site and not just reporting medical facts? Getting kickbacks from lobbyists and drug companies and Democrats? I'm not even an American and this is blatantly obvious!!! Disgusting that you are giving out FALSE information on certain topics. This is supposed to be a FACTUAL medical info site, VERY DISAPPOINTED in you, where is your sense of what is RIGHT?

Était bien. Use to like it a lot.... Il me semble qu'il y avait plus de contenu canadien avant. À présent, toutes mes recherches sont infructueuses. Quelqu'un connaît un programme avec les produits canadiens accessibles via la fonction recherche et pas seulement dans les "brands"?

Crashing every time since update. Bad update. App crashes every time it’s opened. Please fix. Update: fixed by devs s/p uninstall, reboot, reinstall

CVICU RN who loves this app!!. I use this app at home for my personal medications (interaction checker with OTC stuff), and I also use it at work to check on meds that I’m unfamiliar with. Love it!!

Update issue?. I enjoy this app but the articles do not populate. You can scroll titles without difficulty but if you select one to read it will not load. The internet on my phone is great. I even tried connecting to Wi-Fi but nothing.

Handful app. It helped me tooooo much with my job as a doctor, I used it mostly to remember a specific drug details. Thanks for developers 🌹

Adverts make app impossibly annoying to use. Used to be one of my go to’s for clinic practice but the advertisement changes make using the app absolutely obnoxious. So much so that I really don’t use it anymore. The ads pop up mid scrolling and really ruin the experience.

Lack Pediatric PUCAI calculator. Very useful for those of us in Peds GI, would be the pediatric ulcerative colitis activity index. Please add this important calculator. Your other calculators are so easy to use, this would be helpful.

Good information. App has interesting articles though some are not strictly related to healthcare. Also, some articles could have better references. Quick info on drugs, diseases, and procedures.

Useless new version. Suddenly it’s impossible to just open this app and see the article they sent me. Used to tap on their email and read the articles. Now it requires I open the app again, sign in, and then search for the subject matter. Can’t find it. Can’t find link to article. Search is useless. Goodbye Medscape.

Are you all robots or humans. I’ve been screaming this through my entire experience with this app and no body even noticed it. Do I always have to reach for the back button up top to go back??!!⁉️ on the largest display on iPhones ever (the iPhone X) on a platform that is based on swipes and pretty much all the apps use swipe from the edge of the screen towards the opposite side to go back. Why why why, tell me why, why the FK why????????????????????? ?????????????????????? ?????????????????????? Why?????????????????????? Someone please answer this. Why??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️😓⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓⁉️⁉️⁉️

The Best app of all. I began to use this app since I was in med school, meanwhile , as a senior, I recommend for my junior not to wonder for others and make your daily routine updated so that u will be confident on what u are doing and ordering...Cheers...!!!

Website superb; app mediocre. The app doesn’t (seem to) access updated info as often as the website. No way to force an app refresh. I use the website. Uninstall the app to save space. A browser bookmark is more efficient. The URL cited in the robo-response to an email requesting support, returns a 404. Primitive and puerile. Handy to be able to find all this in one easy place. Now I can often know not only what but why, both old and new.

Truly disappointed.. This is a great app, that is completely ruined by ads. I would 100% pay for a version that is ad free, even if it was more than a few $$. Probably going to have to uninstall due to the aggressive ads that pop up when I’m trying to read. It’s unfortunate because this could be really helpful for nursing school.

Loosing saved articles. Because someone decided to switch to a new app now we can’t transfer saved articles!!!! This is unacceptable. They have to fix it before asking us to switch. I emailed company and they suggested to move them manually. Should be less than one star!!!

Bias. This app has some good features but the articles are way too biased. The sources cited are usually the government sites such as CDC etc. The alphabet agencies are lying and most know it. Some independent doctor reviews or studies not sponsored by the government would be nice.

Best Medical App. I use this app daily for EVERYTHING under the sun regarding medical disorders, treatments, and pharmacology. It’s, by far, the most comprehensive platform out there. You can even use it for CME.

Aggressive ads. I use to love this app and used it all the time. I understand you guys need ads to run but this is too much. Same add all over blocking the view of the content. Can’t even scroll and read properly with the amount of ads all over the place. I’m ready to uninstall sorry

Search bar stopped working. Previously it was the best resource available, now not being able to use the search bar after last update. Are you making the app laggy to older devices on purpose? I think I will have to switch to Epocrates if this continue to happen. Hope you can fix this soon, I really liked Medscape.

Use it often. Great overview of most topics. Bounce between Epocrates and Medscape often for med information. I agree with other reviews, adds get old, but understand they help offset costs of the site.

So easy to find my answer. It's really easy and quick to find my answer

Getting worse. The app isn’t user friendly anymore. Several months ago the app has been having a lot of problems and bugs, such as freezing for a moment when tapping on the search bar an more. I would like also that you make the app use the sweep right to go back iPhone feature

Really poorly designed. The information is great but the app seems to get slower and use more battery the farther down an article I read. This noticeably increases with the large number of extremely intrusive advertisements placed in the middle of text. If other apps can have a simple banner ad, why can’t Medscape?

App. When I click on a link in my email and it takes me to the app. It never takes me to the article, and then I can never find it on the app. Much prefer the the website!

Latest version March 2022. The App works great after recent App update. Great source of information for patients. Able to search As you wish....

Used to be my go to point of care reference. I’m a physician, I used to use this app numerous times throughout the day. Now every time you load a new page a video ad takes over the screen and starts playing. It’s made the app completely unusable. As a professional, I’d certainly pay to get rid of the ads!!!

Crashes after today’s update. The app crashes after today’s update. Pls fix. Besides this, it’s been great.

“Internet connection needed for installation”. I get this repeating pop up since my last update and it won’t let me use the app. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled. Turned my phone on and off but nothing fixes it. Not sure if it is happening to anyone else but I’m a frequent user of the app and it’s been frustrating these past few weeks.

One suggestion. If we could download pictures offline that would be nice And make it an as option Thank you

Suggestion. Please make the app more in sync with iPads. I would like to use it in split screen and I would like to see the app view optimized for iPad; otherwise, it seems like I am using an iPhone app on an iPad. 3/5 stars for me having to discrete common sense!

So much information. This app is very easy to navigate and has so much information on a variety of topics!!

Biased. Definitely a politically biased app. Gives obvious credence to any medical issue that feeds the narrative of the Democrat left wing party. Questioning and opinions on articles given by anyone who goes against their narrative are deleted. I don’t trust Medscape since they have become politically biased. There should absolutely be no room for bias in the field of medicine!!

A problem. Please can you help me , the app shows that it need internet connection when I open it and I’m already connected to internet .:(

Bug. When reading an article from notifications on the iPad Pro 12.9”. In the center there is a blank square space which is blocking the text of the article. Has going on for a few months. No split screen, no option to increase font size or use system fonts.

Why not on iphone 14 and above. I have been using medscape for more than 2year and its among top medical resource i use until recently i found it doesn’t open on my Iphone

App now working fine. Response from Developers advising a new update was now available. Working fine now Thanks.

Get rid of annoying ads or I will uninstall. I completelysecond the opinion of the other writer. What is even more annoying is the contamination of other non-medscape apps with medscape ads. In particular, I am seeing entirely too many ads of a Dr Margulis. I have nothing against her personally, but this is too much. I will delete medscape if you cannot fix this problem.

Search suggestions. I cant find suggestions in search bar

Awful! Shame on you!. Absolutely disgusting. There used to be a banner ad at the bottom of the page, now there are two large ads at the bottom and the top squeezing a little bit of text in the middle. The developer’s greed is disgusting! I will make it a point to not use anything you advertise and to speed at he word how terrible you are. Shame on you!

Offline download progress bar. I like the app but whenever i want to download the articles and drug reference for offline use it is spinning. Please change it to show the size and percentages of download (progress). Thank you

Poor icon appearance. Iphone 6s+ The app is very good and helpful for me it became better after your updates. The only thing is fhe icon appearance which its color was changed (haze), after openning the app, its color return to normal. Please fix it Thank you

Used to love, now MEH. Ads, ads, ads. Obnoxious privacy and marketing policy. I hate being tracked. Unfair as we can’t turn parts of it off! In my opinion they have destroyed their credibility with the ads. They used to have advertising but were classy about it at least. Not now. And now has quit working since last update. Meh at best

Annoying. I love this app better than the others on the same category. I what is ultimately gonna be the reason I delete the app is saved clinical reference articles, drugs and pathologies are not save by account. Then what's the point of logging in. It's just too much of a hassle to search for them one by one on a new device.

Overdoses. I use this app every shift I work. I would like to see if y'all can put symptoms of overdose of the medications. Like lethal arrhythmias, organ failure for example. Would be much helpful!

Used to be 5 stars.....now. I have been using medscape since med school From 3g now to 5g it only got better till now. Ads are now intrusive, so much so its getting difficult to read articles or reference a drug. If ads could be reduced some it could once again be enjoyable to use. Now its a 3 star app

Healthcare Provider/Patient Advocate/ Health Cosultant. I love this app because I can inform all my clients and patients the drugs that have been prescribed for them ALL have major side effects!!! I am the go to person for the solutions to their problems!

feature request. Please add the ability to edit the profile. For example, users should be able to change their email.

Drug incompatibility error. Medscape says milrinone and Lasix drip are both compatible but hospital's micro Medix says incompatible. I have emailed them twice with no response. Except a robot saying they received my email. As a nurse I need to know whether it's compatible or not and be able to trust this app. I especially now don't trust it due to the lack of response. It has now been over a month.

Ditto about the “Internet Required”. Please read and fix bc nobody can read your articles. We have an internet connection working fine, yet Medscape won’t let us open any articles since the latest update. Nothing will open. Medscape now useless. Come on please—need this app.

Love this app but!!. This is my go to app, for medical news, medication and prescribing guide, interaction checker... I could go on and on!! Now that I’ve updated my phone to IOS14 the app just keeps crashing, about 3 seconds into whatever it is I’ve looked up. Please, please, fix this... I would have postponed the update had I knew that this was going to happen.

Ads. App has great info and organization but unfortunately the obtrusive ads make it virtually unusable. I understand it’s free so they need to be there, but I can’t even scroll through a single page without accidentally clicking an ad and being sent to safari. In medicine, time is vital.

People should stop whining!. I have used MANY apps and this is one of the best. If there is subscription, people complaint. If there is Ad, people complaint. So how do they make money while you are making money by using the app? C’mon people, nothing is free. Medscape is great in a way to keep it free and accessible for all of you “health care professionals”. If you want subscriptions, buy lexicomp. Message to the developers, thanks for making it an helpful app and Free. I am pretty sure alot of people dont mind the ads as long as it not too distracting. Update! How to turn off the my invitations????

Please wait! Medscape app comments loading...
