Amazing. This app is soo amazing can't wait to get enough money fir the full version !!!!!!!!

It's alright. Was lookin for a bit more but it's ok to doodle around with. I have to write down the keys to my songs since it doesn't have a save option-I guess that's why you have to pay a few dollars more for those extra options :/

Not great. In not crazy about it, i can't figure out how to save my recordings and there is no way to export or email it in any way

You gotta see this !. Until I played with it for a day or two,it's a5 for free tho. Headphones are a must! The chords ring out nicely.

Add other instruments , especially sustaining pads; and other thoughts. I like the chordal interface to Easy SongWriter. One BIG suggestion is that you add other instruments other than simply piano— especially sustaining pads which would go a LONG way in providing an alternative to the staccato of tapping chords without a bass hand. Another suggestion is to provide some nice drum loops to play against and record to. Third is a selection of arpeggiation options. I hope you'll consider incorporating these ideas on an update of this app. Thanks.

Great little app. This app is great to pull out when inspiration strikes, and you can just hear those chord progressions in your head, and just need to see the relationships. Also great for learning the basics of the numbering system used by many studio musicians.

Has a purpose but.... I can see where this would be fun but for using it not much so. The graphics are amazing. You lost me when I was in my car playing with it and it would play through the Bluetooth in the car. Seriously? Sorta can't believe that in not missing a setting somewhere. Which there was a custom chord palette. Without it it's not useful to me.

Surprisingly worthy.. I was skeptical. I started twice to download then thought, no i can't.. I can't sink to that level. Taking the musicianship out of music is not what I want to do. My feeling was, if you need this app, then you've no business being a songwriter. But I've changed my mind. It's just another new format. A new way of thinking, a brainstorming aid, and it's helpful and it's easy and it's pretty so I shouldn't complain!

No audio export. The ability to export recordings as audio files NEEDS to be added in an update please!

Will not save song. Worthless. Really what’s the point of this app if it doesn’t save the song. Save, Name, Done, but when I come back to load a song, immediately after saving, it’s empty, nothing was saved. It’s been like this for years, I though by now they might have fixed it, nope. And I paid for this crap, I want my money back.

So/so. I like writing songs on here and recording them but there's no saving option so I can never upload my songs anywhere. 💔👎

Don't care for it. Music is not just chords people

It's ok.... I really want to get the full version, but at $4.99 it's just too overpriced for what it offers. Make it a couple bucks less and I'm sure many more people will upgrade. This free version only gives you 3 keys to work with, so for the most part it isn't too functional for me. Also like others have griped about, no minor keys.

updates?. Potential 5 star app, but... Paid app hasn't been updated in 8 months... not promising. With updates (ability to append, customizable chords/2nd page of selectable extended chords, audiopaste, metronome count-in for record) easily 5 stars. Missed potential here.

I want to see piano keys. Good app but I never learned how to play piano. It would be nice if the app would show the piano keys that are being played or save a midi file that can be synced to your computer.

Really useful. I only use the chord pads to work my way through writing. Im a guitar player who can struggle his way through piano chords so writing with a piano is hardly an option. However, with this I can relax and concentrate on the song. Very nice. It has limitations since its free.

This is soooo good! :)))))). Those that have given this app., one star has problems. Imagine giving one star to something as good as this. "Make me want to laugh".:) What do some people know. I only just had a chance to check out this app., and I've decide to buy the full version as soon as I buy myself an itunes card, because it's 'sooooo neat!' OMG I'm so excited about it! I don't think it's fair to give the app. one star because it'a not what you were looking for. It free so just trying it out and keep searching the app. store till you find what you want why give a bad review when you didn't even pay for it. Please people grow up!%( I was singing and working out the chords by ear late at night on my bed. I've recently begun to get the nack for playing by ear and I've been wanting to spend more time developing that skill so this app., is also helping in this way even though it I'm sure it wasn't created with that in mind. It's excellent for what it's been created for as well don't get me wrong. I would recomend you get the full version though if you're serious about song writing. This has only three keys G C and F I think; I don't remember the other one off hand but you can check it out it's free. Thanks for creating this useful app.

Limited options, no melody feature. This would be awesome if it allowed you to customize chords (Maj/min, aug, dim, m7b5, etc), add tensions, non-chord tone bass notes, and choose from all 12 tones as opposed to just diatonics plus a couple of "extras". A melody feature would be also appreciated. Nice try, but no cigar. I'll check back for new versions.

😤 Disappointing&terrible. This app is ok. Except it's disappointing because if you're trying to get an app to help you with song writing this app if is confusing and just didn't help me write a song.

Things to add. Okay I love the features this app has inversions good and the different type of recordings. But things that it needs, which would improve it greatly. For building and fixing the song it needs a way to add more chords to the previous recorded song. It has a delete function but needs a way to add. So you can add more to the song without having to re record what you have already fixed or created. I love that you can record over the chords vocally. But it would be nice to adjust the chord volume and the vocal volume so it sounds nicer and a way to mix the chords and vocals together for exporting purposes. And to be able to export the song out. If these three things could be add that would make a world of difference. Something simple nothing crazy.

Loop option. This app is amazing. Outstanding. I would love a loop option. To improve the songwriting experience for lyrics.

Great For A Beginner. This has helped me as I explore chord progressions and song structure as a beginning songwriter. I'll be purchasing the full version to have all the powerful options and more keys available to me.

Fun but will not help me write a song. It is helpful but it needs a little bit more options it’s fun to play with but not anything beyond that. I want the better keys that a real Piano gives me and 4.99 is a high price for the better one, I can get a fun game for less then that😕

needs improvement. The idea to create this app was brilliant, but I'd be better off bringing my guitar everywhere! There aren't enough chord options, not every song in the key of G uses just those chords. Improving the ability to be more creative would be nice. I guess it makes sense that it gives you specific chords for beginners, but the app didn't do enough for me. sorry

What is THIS crap?. This is NOT what I was looking for. I expected this to record my VOICE and have it WRITE DOWN the notes I SING. I'm not an... 'experienced song writer', you could say. In other words, I can write down the words to songs I come up with, but I can't write the notes, and this app did NOT help whatsoever with my problem. Well, as the saying goes, 'You get what you pay for' which is NOTHING! P.S. Do NOT buy this app!

Decent. It's pretty good and I'm glad there is a free version. I'd like to see a couple things happen: staff paper! You should be able to actually select which notes on a staff you want to have, like writing actual sheet music. The second thing that might be nice is an actual note, not chord selection. So instead of an F chord actually hit F and have it be just that note. Thirdly, and lastly, it would be nice to have a wider selection of keys, but if you did my second and first suggestions it wouldn't really matter. Overall a good app though and worth keeping a long as you are just looking for chords and not notes.

Love it. I play piano really well but by ear, I can't read notes and don't have time to because of school and football. There are some songs that may use computers to make music sound better and harder to pick out by ear. This app helped a lot and is just great. :)

Best app..... For just music. It's a very cool app but u have to kinda understand music. Otherwise I love <3 it!!!!

I like it!. This is helpful! I have studied music theory which makes this app easier to understand, but its cool because it gives a few different key options and it records! And you can delete ant of the chords from the sequence that you want! However, I do wish it gave more chord and key options

Great starter kit!. I've never been able to totally get a full song together because my chord knowledge is so thin. But this free version helped me write a song that would have never been possible before! Thanks for the great free app I'm getting the full one now! 100% worth it for young/ beginner song writers!

great app. Very handy to have...I've had ideas floating in my head and have been able to work out and save them.

Gaining momentum. It'd be a 5 star but this is the free version & there's not a free version of the guitar yet. At first this app was ok, until I gained a little more theory knowledge and learned how to apply it when using this app. Having it readily available on my iPhone is crucial for when creativity strikes... Awesome ground laying device for ideas if you're proficient enough.

Good, but.... This is a good app, except for the fact that it wont let me get guitar or view the full version.

Great for playing live. nice sampled piano, can record and change tempo, has plenty of chords-not all of course, but it's free. Does offer different variations of the chords though...but here's the best part----- When you play back it turns the screen black and shows the chords in big letters as they change. This is great if you gig with a band that plays to a click, or if you're soloing over a phrase. I'll prob get the paid app this week..definitely try it out

Great app. A very useful app. Essential tool for songwriters on the go. Can't wait for the guitar version.

Good start. Needs a better sound for playback. (Piano or a selectable options.) Also an undo feature. So you can remove accidentals without having to remove the note. (shake to undo is pretty common) And consider a swipe feature. This is a touch devise after all. A red line that you can drag could work. Good luck. So far so good.

Great idea. Simple and effective concept

Mr. This app works well, it is simple, but that can be a good thing. Needs to be able to put in alternate chords that the user picks in the chord pad area, or custom chords made by the user that can be put into free chord pad slots. This would allow me to do way, way more with the app. Not bad though.

Love it. This is just an awesome app the only negative is that the tabs on the bottom makes it hard to hit some of the chords near the bottom and at most times while im jaming and on a role I hit the tabs instead of the chords.

Just used it to write a song. Works easy and simply when u have a song, and pro tools was dicking around...your app prevailed! Awesome. Only Wish u could insert your own chords into the suggested ones, in the key of F I wanted a Cm, couldn't import it in any way, but thanks heaps. What a great concept, Will get the paid one now to support your awesome work.

Freebie version. It's limited to three keys but its fast enough to use and sketch an idea in my head you can tell they only made this to whet your appetite for the full version. If you have garage band mobile or fl mobile you don't need this.

10/10. Honestly, I've been searching for apps to help me songwrite and compose my own melodies until i can afford to buy a new guitar n this one has proven to be the only useful one. It's awesome. (Cept that my guitar is broken)

Great. It's fun and simple and a great way to create a couple of tunes.

Missing a few things. This app is good but I think it's missing a few key elements. You can only write songs in 4/4 time; having other time signatures would be nice. You can't record with chord numbers displayed, so if that's how you think it's a bit tougher. I was not able to determine from screen shots if the full version allows minor keys. Some more detailed information in the iTunes store would be good.

What happened 2 the key choices!?!?. I FINALLY got a chance 2 try this app out & all the different key choices they had when I first put in on my phone...R GONE???? there are only 3 key choices now!!! G F & C I think... U guys didn't even give me chance 2 fall in love with this app! I couldn't wait 2 get a free moment 2 use it, but now it's as rubbish as the rest! :( HIGHLY disappointed!

Pointless. There is no staff, or keyboard/guitar charts. Does not save recordings. Totally pointless app.
