Legacy Product Disabled. Been using Tap Forms for many years, and it has been working fine. Starting in the beginning of 2020, the product NO LONGER FUNCTIONS. Two error messages appear “Form Editing Disabled” and “Record Editing Disabled”. Time to start shopping for a replacement, and Tap Forms will not be on the list.

Not Impressed. Still not impressed. Get another database if you need relationships and links.

Tap forms on iPad2. Why can I not share my Tap Forms Data on my iPhone 4 with my iPad2 ? Am I missing something?

AMAZING for creative visual people. I was actually the coproducer of the group Enigma and have discovered my ultimate Songwriting and Ideacollection tool in TAP FORMS. The combination of visual listing, audio recording and universal grouping makes it perfect for visual people like me. I can remember songideas by an image I take, or an icon I add. Just like my good old paper notebook but with all the tech - features from today's computers. then I record a quick melody i have in my head and add it to the lyric idea. Finally I can even add a keyword to find it later amongst the 1000s of ideas and rate it with 1-5 stars or as a favourite to be able to create a 'best off list'. Also the FTP-backup function by just pressing a button is amazing and so simple. This has become my Nr.1 iPhone App - now residing in the upper left corner of page 1. It's a perfect example of merging a tech gadget with a very helpful tool speeding up essential works you have to achieve in every day life. WELL DONE!

Powerful but ideosyncratic. This is an amazing app I couldn't live without. Is easy to set up a database to log almost any kind of data. It is as powerful as expensive apps costing much more. The downside is that there are quite a few features that are awkward and not done the standard iOS way. It is as if the developers only use an iOS device to develop this app and have no idea what a typical user expects. For example sharing. The share icon is used for several other functions so it hard to find the actual share menu. To finally get to the standard share menu you know and love, the one that is a single click or menu choice in other apps, is a multistep operation on this app and needs action on several menu levels. Very un-iOS. It is so buried that you will not find it unless you ask on a forum. I'm certain most users don't know there is a share menu. On the other hand these are annoyances. This app is a personal database tool tool and that job it gets right.

had high hopes. looking for bento replacement....this one just makes syncing your database between the mac and the iphone a nightmare....constant fails...dosnt sync on its own... have to reset syncing to make it work....always wondering if I'm going to lose my data.... Bummed that I spent so much on the desktop and phone app....

Great potential. I bought this app because I needed a way to organize contacts within my accounts (main contacts). I really like the way this app allows a complete customization of new forms to act as a flat-file database. The pre-made samples are also a nice touch. I think in a very short period of time, this app will replace a number of smaller apps already on my device. So far no crashes or major issues. I highly recommend this app for the following users: Sales reps that need a way to organize multiple contacts within a larger organization Users that find too many apps on their device and want to streamline. i.e. lockbox, isort, etc all into one app Track tasks, create lists, sort important data, daily journal, etc. I would like to see a sync option and or a desktop companion (mac please) that make data input and analyzing easier.

Great database app. Looking for geo search. This app is working great for me. I am so glad that Bento died. The design makes data entry fast and easy. I would really like a geo search function that would find all entries that were within a specified distance of a point. Now the location field is not very useful for searches. Syncing works well too. Don’t bother. I’ve used this for years and it was originally fantastic. But it’s nothing but glitches now and the creator won’t fix it because he got greedy and sold out for a new, expensive app with a worse interface than the original. I’ve contacted him several times looking for the original to be fixed so I could keep using it, and he just won’t do it and keeps trying to sell me the new one which I’ve already told him I tried and supremely disliked. Bottom line, don’t waste your time on any of his apps, he just abandons them and then tries to get you to spend more money on newer, inferior products.

Best DB for iPhone I can find:. Since purchasing my iPhone 3GS (still using it) I have been wanting a DB program. Gave Bento a go, but for me it was not a good fit. After reading about Tap Forms I tried the lite version; I was so impressed I purchased their full iPhone version. Prior to using Tap Forms my data was contained within numerous Numbers spreadsheets. After purchasing Tap Forms all those individual spreadsheets have been converted to forms within Tap Forms. My information is much easier to located than opening individual spreadsheets. A bonus is the developer is very quick with responses; most often within hours. He is most courteous and helpful. If there was one quibble with the lite version is its limited functionality. My suggestion is to provide full functionality that times out after a set number of days. Customers can then better see the full potential of Tap Forms. __________________________ Updated: Tap Forms is easy to use and also quite powerful. In the past for managing data I kept the data in separate spreadsheets. Moving to Tap Forms bringing in all my data management spreadsheets into a proper database has made data much easer to get to and manage. If you are a former Bento user you will love Tap Forms finding it has more features and more power. RicD

Tap Forms Review. Tap Forms application is an outstanding application. It can be used to store just about any type of data. It is not a complicated and involved program but an application that will make it easy for anyone to create, on the fly, simple databases for storing information. It has no calculation or graphing functions but, does an excellent job at what it was designed for, storing important data. I use Tap Forms to keep records for everything from household inventory, glucose monitoring, blood pressure readings, food log, weight tracking, serial numbers, technical notes and historical notes . I am amazed every time I set up a database as to how easy it is and how much information I can save. If I need to see calculations of the data I have entered I simply email myself a cvs file and import the file into either Numbers or Excel then set up the calculations and graphing. What I would like to see in a future revision is the ability for summing numbers, getting averages, max and min values. Tap Forms is a great application for storing data and is easy to set up.

Excellent database - your creativity is the only limit. I have now been using TapForms for over a year and I continue to find more and more uses for it. Previous review. I have now been using for months and love this app. I have never lost my data. But if I did, I back up my data weekly or more often, sometimes. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The Tap Forms App exceeded all my expectations. You can customize the database forms for anything you can imagine. You can store contacts, passwords, travel information, restaurants, frequent flyer data and much more. For instance, I created a story for each Hebrew character and use that for remembering vocabulary words and how to spell them. It was easy to make up a form to store that data. Anything you are interested in you can store; the only limit is your imagination. I have created my own databases (you have an extensive choice of fields to choose from, such as voice recordings, drawing, phone numbers, locations, photos, text, and so on). You choose which fields are useful for the database you are building. Or, you can begin with forms that already have been designed and modify them to fit your needs. Most of the fields in your databases are elegantly linked to other applications in the iPhone, such as the voice narration, telephone and maps. You can edit or add fields even after you begin to enter data. It has a sophisticated backup system which you need to learn how to use on a regular basis. The App is very stable and the customer support is outstanding. The program does not seem at all simple at first, and there is a learning curve required. It took me several days to master it. Before purchasing, I would suggest that you first download the free Tap Forms Database Lite app and see if it seems to meet your needs. [Several years have passed since my last review and I want to say thank-you so much, again. And thanks for incorporating fingerprint touch as a way to skip password. Keep up the fantastic work.]

Fantastic App. This is probably the most useful app I've purchased from the App Store and I've only had it a few days. I played with the Lite version a couple days and was so thrilled with the ease of use that I decided to buy the full program. I've been wanting a "specific" iPhone app that just doesn't exist and I was able to create it with Tap Forms! No, it's not all roses and candy, I'm having trouble getting one part of the program to work correctly on my system, but looking at the improvements that have been made plus the quick way in which the developer responds to requests makes me *very* comfortable with my purchase. I was torn between Tap Forms and HanDBase and while the latter does appear more powerful at this time (it's relational), I know that's something the TF developer is working on -- and so it came down to the look and feel. Tap Forms *looks* like an iPhone app should, and since I'll be using it daily the look is actually important. The program as it stands with this version is good enough for the needs I have -- and I can't wait to see what new features are going to show up in the future.

NOPE. GOODBYE.. Rather than respect and appreciate long time supporters this developer has chosen to reward loyalty with greed. A reasonable upgrade fee would have been appropriate. Shame on you for having no existing customer loyalty. I recommend not purchasing this app or supporting this developer as I myself now choose to no longer do. Unfortunately.

Could not function w/o this app!. The ONLY time I had a hitch with this app, I wrote an email to the creator and he responded within hours with the solution. He’s a solo developer. I think some of these low reviews are unfair. I really LOVE this app and use it for everything!

Can’t sync. I’ve had this app for years now and haven’t been able to sync this to my other devices

Stopped working on is 14. Not sure why I have to pay (again) for the newer version if this one is no longer supported? How long before you drop support for that one and ask us to pay yet again?

The best form/database application. I've been using TapForms since early 2009. To say the least its the best form/database application out there for mac & iOS. I'm still surprised to find that the apps are consistently updated at no extra charge, nor has the developer created separate "versions" charging again for the app. I had previously used Bento and the accompanying iOS apps, but the iOS apps are dreadful. I needed something that both performed well with iOS (iPhone & iPad) and my mac. TapForms was the solution and I've been using it ever since. Currently I use it to keep track of tech support tickets & website clients. The only thing I hope to see In the future, is the ability to sync with an external cloud, such as Dropbox. This way, the database could be shared across multiple users instead of just one user.

Now won’t work. Was great before last update. Now my encryption key won’t work and I can’t get in! May love again if there was a stable fix.

No Problems Here. I don't understand why this app is getting such bad reviews. I'm using version 4.0.7 and have no problems. I have not opted to upgrade to version 5, so I guess that's the difference where the others are having difficulties. I have given this app glowing reviews in years past and have used it regularly ever since in my business for customer scheduling. I sync an iPhone and three different generations of iPads at the same time without issue. I came here to check out what this version 5 was all about; and though I will wait to upgrade, I believe the developer will work hard to correct any issue the feedback reveals. As far as the folks calling the developer "greedy" for charging $16 for their work product, I can only assume they've never been an entrepreneur. There is nothing wrong with charging for a product, work performed or a service. That's how most people are paid! Grow up already. Give up a couple of those $6 cups of coffee and call it even. 😑

Self sabotage guts a formerly great app. This was a great app that I used for several years. In 2016 the developer decided to change syncing methods. I've tried to adapt to the new syncing method three separate times without success. That's my limit. I'm deleting the app. Now I hope to find another form app with iCloud and/or Dropbox syncing that works half as well as this one does. What a waste. :-/

Just okay for now. I downloaded Tap Forms at the discounted price because I wanted to compare it to HandBase which I currently use. I thought maybe it would replace HandBase, but not a chance. Tap forms is okay, but like I said in my heading, "Just okay for now". When I down loaded it I thought one of my uses would be a list manager. I wanted to make a list with check marks. Although Tap Forms has checkmarks, they are basically useless with a list. You can't check off things from the list view, you have to go into each record individually to check off the record - very cumbersome. In HandBase, you can check of records right from the list view, which is very fast and easy. Another thing, in HandBase you can designate a password for an individual database, whereas in Tap Forms, unless I missed something, you have to have a password for the entire program, not the individual databases. In summary, HandBase is a real database (relational also) whereas Tap Forms is more of a flat record keeping program. It is a good record keeping program, but if you need a real database with relations, calculation fields, etc. Tap Forms is not for you.

Issue with Updates. Used to be an amazing database. With 4.0.8 & 4.0.9, database just crashes upon opening. I no longer have access to all of my info. Tried restoring and still just crashes with iPhone XR. Wish they would add FaceID as well.

Can't link records. I bought this app in order to assign contacts per the standard iTouch app to groups, such as clients, client's other advisors, etc. And to safely store additional info about my clients. That works okay. But, it's important to be able to readily identify a client's other advisors, which could most readily be achieved by displaying links between contacts in my clients list with contacts in my other advisors list. I am very disappointed to learn that it is not possible to link existing entries. There is meritless functionality to create new duplicate entries for contacts within either list that are to be linked to contacts within another list. Why is this so difficult given that my Sharp Zaurus purchased in 1990 allowed entries in a wider range of categories to be linked effortlessly. Here we are 20 years later and the technology has devolved rather than advanced. Hopefully I can remove this app so it won't clutter my screen and remind me that I wasted my time and money on an incomplete app. Should we allow pilots to finish building airplanes while we are flying in them? I'd rather get to where I want to go rather than being "taken for a ride."

Single Greatest App. Probably the single greatest and most useful app in the app store. The power, customizability, and usefulness of this app is amazing. In my tapforms I have everything from gift ideas (w/ a pic and link attached to an address book contact) and long-term shopping lists to my car maintenance history (with attached pic of receipts) and logins for various websites. And much more. All this on my phone, and organized in a simple, intuitive, and password-protected manner. Also add on the ability to d/l and u/l from Dropbox and tapforms even has its own webserver utility (you just tap "on" and it lists an address you type on your browser and boom! You're on your phone as a local database over wi-fi. Both http and ftp). Absolutely fantastic! I would say that the program in its current build is easily worth over $30. I've already spent roughly 20-30 man hours fiddling, making and re-making forms to just the way I want. You can customize this thing to the umpteenth degree with any and all information you have. Buy it. I assure you, you will not regret it. After you buy it, sit down with it for a few hours and figure out how everything works and is organized. This will save you from re-making forms once you realize a better way to do it later on.

I'm done. Instead of upgrading current version this developer constantly comes out with a new version with a hefty price. Extremely greedy!

Pretty scummy. Bought this version (which was already a pretty expensive app to begin with). You put out a new version instead of updating this app and doubled the price. Won't be purchasing anything from this developer again.

Excellent app, highly useful. I've used a number of iPhone applications since getting my iPhone this year, and out of all of them this one has proven the best. I should mention that I've upgraded to OS 3.0 and TapForms is very stable so far. When it comes to data collection, TapForms is outstanding and vary easy to use once you get over the slight learning curve. Although this is still a flat file database system, the pick list feature makes repetitive data entry nice and quick. I really like the built-in ftp server feature as this makes backing up the data much more hastle free compared to other applications. As an online retailer, I have to keep a databse of items shipped and as the iPhone is always in my pocket, Tapforms has made keeping keeping shipping information a breeze. Thanks Guys!

Worth the Price -- Shows Great Promise. Tapfroms works great! It's a flat file database that is very easy to use, but surprisingly versatile. I plan to use Tapforms for storage of passwords, keep information about frequent flier numbers, insurance information, listing of wineries and wines and countless other things. There are a couple of drawbacks that resulted in a rating of 4 rather than 5 stars, but the developer has said that he's working on them. The primary drawback is the inability to import or sync. Without an import/sync feature, it takes forever to input data because of the iPhone/iPod Touch keyboard. The major missing field type is the ability to select from a list -- this is also important because of the keyboard limitation. The ability to link to a record in another form would make the program extremely powerful. I like this program a lot.

Great app!. I absolutely love this app and have been using it for at least a decade now as my password manager, since long before password managers have become a thing to have. I’ve noticed that the new iOS 15.4 update seems to cause it to immediately crash. I really, really, really hope this can be fixed. Please 🙏🏼 *** Update *** The developer was correct. I had moved from a Touch ID device to a Face ID device, and the app was instantly crashing. I deleted and reinstalled TapForms, and as long as I don’t try to use Face or Touch ID on the new device, the app opens just fine. Thanks for the tip! That should get me by a while longer.

The best!. Now this is an awesome app. You can completely customize any kind of form. You can password-protect. It's got a great UI - very easy to use; looks good. AND it's been totally stable on my 3G. I've got only one criticism - the viewing screen needs some options. Right now all the entries for a particular form are displayed alphabetically, and only the first field shows. It would be so much better if you could have more than one field displayed, especially if you could choose which fields to show. Filters would be even better! And a suggestion... how about radio buttons or drop down lists? Hmm, and more icons to choose from? But these are just details - overall the program is terrific. I've got lots of apps; this is one of my favorites. I've got about 40 different databases on it - I use it every day.

Sync is hit or miss. I really wanted to love this software because there is a lot to like. The developer is very responsive. The sync between devices is REALLY hit or miss meaning that it doesn't work very often

Better browsing needed.. First off great program. One of the absolute best utilities I've put on my iPhone. There is room for improvement in some areas, better backup/computer interface is one example. Another that I actually care more about is having better built-in browsing. The ability to click on a web link in a record and have it open up right in Tap Forms is merely novel without being able to go back and forth between the web page and the record. For instance, say I need to fill out multiple fields on a web site, all with information I have in a record. Without having keep all the information in my head while I open the page and enter the data, I would need to write it all down on a scrap of paper and then proceed to the page. Holding the page in the iPhone's memory while I go back to the record would be ideal.

Dropped iCloud; dropped Tapforms. Pricey upgrade(s) I was going to tolerate, but also dropped iCloud sync. Done.

Very happy Bento to Tapform user. I was an happy Bento user but since they are no longer supporting it and it doesn’t seem to work well, if at all on Yosemite, I started using Tapforms. Great program. It does almost all of what Bento does and I find it a bit more flexible for set up and forms. It’s not as user friendly as Bento but very, very close. I have it on 2 Mac’s, my iPad and iPhone and all sync well together. I’ve had one issue and Brendan responded quickly, while in vacation no less, and helped me resolve the issue. I have quite a few databases within Tapforms, all brought over neatly from Bento, using the built in Bento import. You can print out all your forms within a database, you just have to select them all. I saw something didn’t think you could do that so wanted to clear that up. Overall, I’m very happy and hope to use this for a long time.

App doesn’t synchronize anymore. I have the latest Tap Forms apps on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, however every time I try to synchronize it says synchronization failed. I do not know what to do about this.

Really?. Another purchase for long time users. I gave this app 5 stars previous to this update. Now I don't care, they are leaving me, I am leaving them. Beware purchasers of the new app, it'll happen again. It's a temporary purchase until they want more money to stay current.

The missing software for my iPhone being my complete mobile solution. I just bought this a couple of days ago..... waiting patiently for Apple to get their 'stuff' together and put version 1.5 on the app store.... in its current version (1.0), it has a great UI, and is very useful for data that is fairly flat - which describes 95% of the data I want to carry with me..... with the 1.5 update, this will be an awesome database. The developer has put a lot of thinking into this and I expect it to be THE app to have if you need any type of database or list type manager ! Update !!!!!! I just updated to 1.5 - WOW ! just the ability to import and export files makes this SO much better.... now I can create my dbs in Numbers or Excel and import them. Or us export to back things up. I did find one problem..... when I exported the data, it added a space to each letter as it exported..... easy enough to remove the spaces with Numbers, but still a hassle. (Hint to those that need to remove the extra spaces... Replace all ' ' (3 spaces) with some characters such as '!@#', then Replace all spaces with '' (nothing).... then Replace '!@#' with ' ' (1 space)..... this will get rid of all the extra spaces)

Elegant replacement for FileMaker Mobile. Since I ditched my old Palm for a shiny iPod Touch, I've been looking for an affordable solution to my old, discontinued FileMaker Mobile. I used this to add new records while on the move that I could sync back to my desktop database. After looking into the options, I tried out Tap Forms. I've been thoroughly impressed. It's got an elegant, intuitive interface and it's slick to use. It's so much more user friendly than my geriatric FileMaker Mobile that the two are hardly comparable. I've since added many hundreds of rows into five forms, the largest with over 50 columns, and I've easily emailed the forms back to myself as csv files for importing into my desktop FileMaker databases. If you can live without the desktop database syncing of FileMaker Mobile (or FMTouch), I thoroughly recommend Tap Forms. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a power database, and I've made some suggestions for added features on their website (e.g., importable pick lists and simple relationships between forms would be useful). However, at this price point, you're getting a whole lot of mobile databasing goodness for your money, so it's five stars from me.

New purchase immediately offers upgrade at full price.. There seem to be too many versions. I use tap forms on MacOS and wanted to be able to use it on iOS as well. But when I buy, it immediately encourages me to upgrade to tap forms 5. Don't make your users figure out which version of your app they need.

Perfect for GTD - Getting Things Done. I have been using Tap Forms for years for my GTD personal productivity. I have forms for my Vision of my life, 5 Goals for the coming year, 22 Responsibilities this year, 96 Projects to undertake this week and in the coming weeks, and 418 Actions to perform in various contexts this week that each bring me a step closer to my Vision. I also keep checklists, 60 stories I am writing, 11 recipes, 53 inventions, 443 passwords, and plenty of financial information all encrypted in a database that doesn’t need any multinational corporations’ clouds to function. It all resides on my phone, quickly accessible. I also routinely make backups to store offline so if I ever lose my phone, I can easily restore the whole database to a new one.

Great support!!. Switched phones and was working with the developer to get my data back. He kept working with me until we got there!! I appreciated his help because I’ve used this app for a long time and needed the data. He was tenacious!

Amazing app. Fun to use. Takes a little time to understand how its put together, well for me anyway as I am not database wise. But in a few minutes you are up and running. It’s flexible and you can use it for anything from simple recurring lists to all the data you need in one place for a school.

Update has corrupted my database. I have used tapforms for a very long time. A recent auto update has corrupted my database and I have lost all of my info. Ridiculous.

Very fully featured, cross-platform functionality, unbelievably responsive support!. It’s been about nine months since I last reviewed Tap Forms for iOS. I feel compelled to review it again because I am constantly so excited and pleased about this product. Here’s an indicator of how strongly I feel: when I installed Yosemite, the very first thing I wanted to do was test the functionality of Tap Forms iCloud syncing with iOS. The product is not bug-free, but it is SO fully featured and SO assiduously maintained and supported, I only wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I actually feel guilty that the developer hasn’t charged me anything since my initial purchases on the various platforms, despite his adding a great deal of functionality and providing outstanding support. I am particularly fond of the “inverse relationship” feature, which allows two-way linking of database fields. I find all kinds of uses for this, and don’t know of ANY other consumer-level product which provides this functionality on the Mac, iPad, and iPhone. I think Tap Forms is unique in its functionality and close to unique in the level of dedication and commitment shown demonstrated by its developer. If you’re organization-prone and data driven as I am, this is an app you should not pass up, at any price!

Excellent for the OCD Listmaker Inside Me!. Last week I decided to start the task of cataloging all the plants in my garden. There was no acceptable gardening app for this task so I did it the old school way on the spreadsheet. Furthermore, I was going to print out my spreadsheet, take notes with a pen, and transfer them back to the computer. App geeks, you know that there is a better way. So I visited all the database apps and purchased three: HanDBase, StoreIt, and TapForms. They're all functional for what I need to do but TapForms has the superior GUI. Functionality and aesthetics--that's how an application succeeds. I visited the developer's website and it looks like he is hard at work improving the program and responding to all sorts of requests. That's great but I hope that the developer has strong boundaries as to what this program is and isn't. Looks like people want this to be part of a strong business engine for under $10. Don't try to compete with FM Touch. Just keep it simple and functional. This is one of the top 3 apps that I have purchased from iTunes. I will be using it all the time. I look forward to the data encryption and hope that there will be a feature that allows the remote deletion of data should the device be lost. Is that even possible? I don't know. They're making a lot of impossible things happen these days.

Customer support is superb!. I have been using Tap Forms for nearly a year and can't say enough about this product. I use it primarily as a database for my customer contacts. Creating a custom database from scratch was simple and quick. The other day I decided to try out some more advanced features including importing, exporting, syncing, and file transfers. I ran into a couple of glitches because of the some of the features I was using in my custom form, so I emailed Tap Forms customer support and I could not believe it when I received an email back within 15 minutes with answers to my questions. Not only did Brendan answer my questions and help me fix my problems, but he offered some tips on how to improve the things I was trying to accomplish. Great for mobile professional. This review applies to the Mac app and the iPhone app. Tap forms is the solution for the mobile professional. As a solo attorney, I need to be able to keep track of billing, time, status, clients and many other details in the office and on the road with clients. I have been looking for software like this since I started practice 6 years ago. I have tried programs and database solutions that cost hundreds of dollars. Tap forms is better than all of them for a few reasons. First, it is very simple to customize. Anybody can make a comprehensive database in a few minutes. Rather than trying to make other software work, you can make this software fit your business model. Second, the mobile app is just as easy and provides a simple, but extensive user interface. Also to note, some of the negative reviews are premature and without consideration I experienced a minor problem, emailed customer support at 11:15 pm and received a personal email from the developer in under 30 minutes. He worked with me demonstrating genuine interest and devotion to his software and resolved the issue (which turned out to be my oversight). Very few products are developed by somebody with personal interest. In sum, this product can be customized to fit your business or personal needs. You can track everything on your phone and on your mac. The cloud sync works perfectly. I am recommending this product to all of my small business clients and fellow attorneys.

Excellent Database App for the iPhone/iPod touch. I have been looking for a handheld database that was elegant, flexible, and reasonably powerful. This is it. One particular function I was looking for was the ability to fill in a form on my iPod touch, then email the contents of the form. This app does this with no effort. The support for various field types is excellent - I am able to time and date-stamp a new record with a couple of taps. Tap Forms features: A URL field which launches a built-in browser. A contacts field that lets you select from your contacts. A picture field that works with your photo library or the built-in camera. Even a voice memo field type is available. Reasonable support for backups (independent of the normal iTunes backup facility) is provided, as is support for import and export via CSV files. It even supports an FTP server and local file viewing similar to Air Sharing. The developer seems to be responsive and the product is being actively developed. I get the impression that some of the earlier versions may have been a bit rough around the edges, but version 1.6 has been flawless for me. Overall, I recommend this product highly - the learning curve appears reasonable for non-technical users, but it has a lot of depth for those who want to use it in more complex ways.

Ok, this app rocks!. I changed to this app from handbase, mainly because you can easily email files in .csv format, which can be used in excel. Having used it for a few months, I've been very happy. Today I discovered another feature I wish I'd worked out earlier (you can import and export in different date formats for those who aren't American), which changes my mind to being extremely happy with this app. Easy to use, very customisable and reliable. Top work!

Buy it now! Best App I've ever used.. 5 stars, hands down the best and most valuable app on my iPhone and I've been using it now for years. So good that I would buy an iPhone just to be able to use tapforms (if I didn't have one already). Seriously. But why you ask? Because I use it for recording almost everything! For example timesheet, expences, field data entry (frog surveys, habitat tree surveys etc), tax records, vehicle logbook, emission factors etc. Default forms are good for basic ideas but dont show you the real power this app has! Flexible portable data base. Excellent app for doing custom databases and storing general info. I use it as a library app (it scans bar codes), lists, passwords, etc. It is secure and has excellent support. Regular updates improve features. Have been using it for 3+ years.

Best 7 dollars spent. This app is really powerful! It is also amazingly flexible and I have also found it really intuitive to use. I am using it to track my diet in hope to find food sensitivity trends, but now I am thinking about other uses.. Excellent app. This app is fantastic, there are a couple of issues with it though. Photos cannot be cropped so becomes increasingly hard to take a photo crop it and then attach it here. Sometimes the Cammero just hangs and there is a black screen. But apart from these, the app is fantastic and recommended.

Outstanding App!!. I've been using this app frequently for the past 2 years and it just becomes more useful. I had a small issue with the encryption of my passwords, I emailed the developer and had an immediate reply. The support for this app is like no other. Thank you Brendan, keep up the good work.

Disastrous. After having TapForms for a few years it was my go to for my passwords. Since iOS 13 it has been buggy but worked well until iOS 13.1.2 at which point it creased all function nothing could get it working I was unable to recover the data base. Considering I have Paid for this version and they now want another $27 for the new version NO WAY this had already caused untold problems with my passwords and complete loss of all of them. Tap Forms a very bad idea.

Outstanding support. The timeliness and excellence of support for this app is surely the benchmark to which all apps should aspire. I couldn't work out how to export/ import to/from MS excel which is a little tricky for a novice like me, and had responses to my three emails within 6hours, half an hour, and 2hours respectively. While we can't always expect this speed of turnaround, it is highly impressive to receive it even once. Thanks Brendan.

Good Reliable App. Very flexible database. Well supported. Regular updates. Import and export works well. Integrates with iOS contacts. Using IPad, iPhone and Mac. Sync works very well with Dropbox. Lags a little with iCloud. Highly recommended as a work tool. Have been using this app for a couple of years. Rock solid. Very flexible and easy to use.

Perfect application. Added my companies telephone directory of 8k records and the access is instant. Used another db and it took ages. Even created a home inventory with pictures for insurane purposes. It's replaced 3 apps so far. I'm sure that number will increase over time.

Worth it!!. Tried to do what I wanted with another form/list app and after almost a day of customizing MY list the way IT wanted, it wouldn't sync!! That was money wasted!! Great datastore and customised tracker. I use Tap Forms for nearly everything, insurance tracking of assets, tracking favourite grocery products, wallet audit, loyalty cards. A truly justified app for people on-the-go. It loses 1 star only because I am unable to export photos taken with the inbuilt camera along with the associated data I've saved. If it could export to XLS with thumbnails or images intact (instead of a textual reference to the unique photo) this would be a truly sublime app. A must have though regardless!

Form for every occasion in my pocket. I have many types of interactions with customers and colleagues that I need to plan and record. This tool is so valuable as it increases my effectiveness. I have created templates (forms) for several situations and embedded prompts for guiding the planning and information gathering. Use cases I have are: planning & recording management meetings, presentation scaffolding, customer business analysis. I find this is an easy to use tool for entering information and a fantastic user interface for form creation.

Absolutely brilliant. I cannot believe that the developers have put so much usable functionality into this app. Besides normal db capabilities, the interfaces to computers are excellent. Have just imported a csv file from my mac and it created a form for me with the data loaded. Brilliant people - thanks.

Most used app on my iPhone!. I use Tap Forms every other day and pretty much can't live without it. I've used it for years now and am completely dependent! It's never let me down and I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND it as an essential app to own!

A must have App. Tap Forms is brilliant. I have tried a lot of apps to catalogue my various possessions and private data; none seem to do the job and some of them even corrupt data. A lot of them get you to use their online site for backup and restore, how crazy is that, to send your confidential info to some stranger. Tap Forms shines out as an exceptionally well thought out and easy to use app; it has a great range of templates with the ability to customize all fields to suit your own needs; not only backup and restore but import and export to your computer. I only hope they will bring out a desktop application soon.

Very useful personal database. I use this as a mood journal (using a custom form of my own), including using a calculated field to come up with an overall value based on several value I've entered. I also use it to track planes I've spotted. In both cases, creating the forms was simple, and adding records is simple.

Great app + great support. Apart from being an awesome app (which I have not made full use of I yet), the support is great! Had a problem with a calculation thing in both the iPhone and iPad version and so I emailed support. Great App, Great Value, Great Support. I had my first Tap Forms database up and running in minutes, including a 2900 record import. Fast, easy and has many features that I'll get to as time goes by. I had one quick question, and it was answered in less than 5 minutes! Outstanding value at A$2.49 - if you read this when the price has gone back up -buy it anyway. There are many average apps, we should support the excellent one like this, particularly when there's outstanding support too.

Great, but could use more search options. Easy to set up and use, great for most basic non-relational database requirements. Good interface, clean and pleasant visual appearance, good stability. Field type options cover most things you need. Data entry is quick and easy. Search is simple - entire database, all fields, with no options. Could benefit by having a second advanced search option where values in specific fields could be specified to get more accurate and useful search results. Import and export option is great, and I like the bonus feature whereby it can take the place of many of those file storage/transfer apps out there on the iPhone. Makes it's cost even more worthwhile. Good work - look forward to future updates.

Wow. I have been using this data base program for about a week now and can honestly say it is the best of its kind I have ever used. Over the last year I have purchased a large number of data base apps hoping to find the one that will be powerful yet flexible and easy to use, but every time I downloaded one that looked promising there would always be a problem, either very restrictive or not very powerfull. Tap Forms is now my number one app on my iphone and is already bulging with a variety of data from standard on board forms to imported .csv files. Well done Tap Forms.

Nice bit of kit. Lovely interface. I'd like the option to graph the data I've inputted. That would negate the need for any desktop app. For example, to be able to plot numerical results against date. To include some basic maths like dividing the contents of one field by that of another and putting it into a new 'formula' field - Now that would really replace a lot of my existing apps. Any chance of seeing this in a future update?

Very Impressive Application. Great database with many field types, including photos. Support was virtually immediate and it is excellent value. I will be using this on a daily basis. I love the ability to import spreadsheet files, backup the entire database and easily add fields to the forms.

The best productivity app on iOS. I've used this now for multiple research projects as a data collection tool. Can't recommend it highly enough, seriously it's saved us countless hours and dollars. Also, best support for any software I've ever owned, bar none.

Great, lots of features. This is a simple database creation software that lets you customise forms to fill in data. My favourite part is you can choose lots of types of fields in the form, like text, number, pick from a list, even files.

Perfect app got lists. One of the most polished iPhone apps I've seen. This app knows what it's meant to do, and it does it well. I tried Listomni after reading some other reviews, but it's nowhere near as good as Tap Forms for simple recording of lists. Highly recommend this app!

Good. Made little sense at first, but after a few hours I think I have a handle on it. Would be good if you could have a subset of fields under some fields so that different fields could be utilised depending on what what was "picked" in a field. That makes sense doesn't it?...

Great App. There's probably no app that I use more on my iPhone or iPad. I use it for organising pretty much everything. Its versatile but also very easy to use. Fantastic and timely support as well. BTW I don't make the above comments lightly. I rarely write reviews, actually this is the only app I've written a review for and I've had every iPhone since the first one came out almost 8 years ago.

Great features, nice price.. I was testing FileMaker for the past few weeks and held off buying a licence for the trial version. I'm glad I did, because after discovering Tap Forms today, I've not only saved myself a ton of money (and I will buy the Mac version too), but also saved myself the headache of configuring FileMaker. Tap Forms is simple to use, but extremely powerful. I'm using it for my small business to track inventory. The database search is super fast. I'm very impressed.

Great App!!. I use it to catalog my paper and digital sewing patterns. The ability to add any type of field from text to tick box to drop downs makes it really easy to add all the search categories you could ever want. Only one suggestion the ability to duplicate a form entry would be great. Fabulous app. BTW I heard about your app from a sewing blog, which was referencing another sewing blog that mentioned you.

Serious misgivings. Spent hours setting up my database. Backup to my email and the whole database disappeared. Unable to retrieve it or reinstall it in the app no matter how I tried. This app needs to be updated. I will need a refund for the amount of money I paid for this!!! My time is worth a lot more than that

A great app with fantastic support.. I use this app every day; several times a day in fact. I have no programming or coding experience yet I can easily create a database on the fly - no planning, just start creating. Sometimes I’ve been searching in the app store for a specific app / database (say a calorie counter) but they’re all got “in app purchases “ !!! So I quickly create a tap form to do the job even better. If I have any issues trying to create or modify a database, I send and email and I usually have a helpful answer and a solution within 12 hours! Fantastic support. Highly recommended.

Perfect. I wanted an App that I can use to keep an inventory of spare parts at work that I have across mutiple stores in my city. TapForms works perfectly for this application. I have been able to create a form to store all the data I require. I've also included photos which is handy for remembering what each item is. I've also put all my passwords and bank details into the same App so everything is together. Very handy 

Best tool ever!. 5 stars no often awarded but this is great. If any improvements could be made? Perhaps a wider range of icons. Also would be good to be able to attach a pick list to a text field but no complaints ;-))

Invaluable piece of kit. I have been using tap forms for over three years now and have thousands of entries which I use daily in my line of work. Picks up where Bento left off. I've used FileMaker's Bento for years to manage expense tracking, invoicing etc for my small business. But Bento is no longer being supported/updated - which was fine till things broke with Yosemite. Now smart collections don't work etc. So I went looking for a replacement. TapForms is a little less intuitive to use than Bento - and works a bit differently, but I've been using it now for a few weeks and think now that I like it better than Bento.

Goodbye Bento!. I'd been struggling with Bento since upgrading. It's limited export options meant my data is stuck there. Got this and recreated my database in minutes. It has great export options. Wish it auto saved when you went back to the form. Fantastic! Goodbye Bento!

Tap Forms. Great database. So much power in such a great app. I found the forms very easy to make and use. Would highly recommend this app to anyone needing quick, simple access to data. Well done to the developers!

Trip log. I created a trip record which includes linked files for flights, hotels, other transport, activities, key photos anad a rating. It works perfectly and more conveniently than a non-modifiable app. Very pleased.

Good app, So versatile, excellent support. You can use this app to record everything. It's so versatile although you have to play around to fully get out of it. Recently the app log me out and say invalid password and I couldnt access to data for two months (lesson: make sure you have some backup). Later on a new patch come out and fix this. The support team is helpful and reply so quickly. Overall I m happy with it.

By far the best productivity app I have used on the ipod. So well laid out and easy to use with all the functionality I was looking for (for entering data on the go). The only thing it doesnt do that would be helpful is ability to set default values for the pick lists.

It’s a great app, but.... First off I’d like to say for what I’m using it for it has been a great app. I love, and love how it organizes my information. The only thing that prevents it from being a 5 star app is that the developer (I’m assuming it’s them that determines price) has decided that they need to charge a full $10 for each version, i.e. iPad, iPhone, mac. So, while the price tag says $10, be aware that it is in fact, for full functionality and accessibility from your devices, it is more like $30. Personally, I’m not sure why that is necessary as a lot of apps that have multi device formats usually make you pay once and then it’s good for all devices. Anyway, It is a good app, just not sure it’s necessary to charge for each device. Cheers.

Record everything you want!. This app is just amazing :). I can record everything I want and I have all the information with me. Since I fly a lot, I can save a lot of paper sheets and the data is much faster available: flying info, passport number, you name it ... The function I love most is the duplication of records, it's saving me lots and lots of time :) Thank you for the amazing app and for the more than fair price ...

Excellent Full Featured Database App and very responsive Developer. I have been using Tap Forms for a while now and it keeps getting better. The Touch ID access is one of the most recent additions I like. I switched from another database a few years ago because Tap Forms had a built in GPS location function that was worth the switch on its own. The ease of creating a new database and the ease of editing it on the fly is so easy. I use it every day to track many things in my life and I wouldn't be without it. Support when needed is almost instant which is much appreciated these days. With Tap Forms it's almost like being a programmer who can make their own apps to do any varied number of things. iCloud backup is also great as I also have the Mac Desktop version so it keeps both in sync. I am still discovering things this App can do. Apps like this should cost a lot more than it does so it's pretty much a no-brainer. Just get it, you won't be disappointed.

Impressed. This is a very well put together and practical application, with use well beyond the preset forms. It would be great if it had warnings for when certain dates (e.g., insurance renewals) were coming up?

killer app. This is a very comprehensive, flexible app that pretty much allows you to create any list or form you can imagine. With a built-in voice recorder for voice notes, a prompt to camera and many basic forms already availble to get you going, this is excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

An App Store gem. I stumbled across this app when looking for something to track some random information. It's since earned a place in my dock as a go to app for all sorts of stuff. It's like yojimbo for ios. The app is constantly under development and the developer is very responsive.

A handy-dandy app!. Just an Amazing app! I use it store my phone card numbers, account numbers, and other info that I can't memorize. It saves me a lot of time and hassle of trying to fish out all the info when I need it. It's one the most used apps on my phone. It's not one those apps that you purchase and it just sits there waiting to be put to use! I love the fact that it allows you to customize forms according to your needs. Fantastic!. I use the app almost everyday. It’s incredibly functional because you build it the way you want it. I wish I’d had this years ago! One hiccup: Photo field on forms isn’t showing completely, it looks like the cell margins are half the height of what they should be. Only for photo field without a photo uploaded yet.

A part of my work day. I couldn't imagination not having this amazing app on my iOS devices and my Mac. This is what Bento should have evolved to. Excellent app.

Essential app. I started using this app to track stats for work. Then I used it for data gathering on a research assignment. Then I started using it for encrypted, secure journaling. Then I used it to backup all my passwords in a central location. Along with the desktop companion (which syncs beautifully) this app has become a central staple in my daily life and work.

a lot of potential but still some bugs. great product with a lot of potential. very difficult to import data, I still have not successeded as it keeps crashing. I wish this is fixed or an example is published as I have a lot of data to import. It would be nice to also have a java version that can run on both windows or Mac platforms. this is important if iphone is lost

Had this since 2010. I originally got this free on my 2 gen iPod in 2010. I only have that iPod to this day because of this app (albeit an older version) and use it almost daily. I have so much faith in Tap Forms that I purchased it on my new phone, with a new account.

Switched from HanDBase. Very longtime HanDBase user, but finally switched because I wanted a simple database utility that takes full advantage of iCloud to sync my databases between my iPhone, iPad, and iMac. Looks like Tap Forms is it. I found it easy to figure out how to create new "forms" (databases) for my various records. I installed TF on my iPhone after getting it sorted out out on my iPad. As soon as I turned on iCloud in TF on my iPhone, TF synchronized with the work I had done on the iPad. Great start. Next: import my databases from HanDBase.

Very cool application!. Love this application. I can record about any kind of information on my iPod touch now while I'm out shopping, climbing, travelling, you name it. The problem I always have with bookkeeping is that I'm to lazy to enter the info later on with the MacBook Pro, so I love to have the Touch at hand, make an entry quickly, and have it there. And it has all kinds of fields that come in handy, it can do audio notes and attach a contact or a photo to the entry. Sweet! Just building my Running Log form and one for climbing. Can't wait for a sync feature, so I can sync the database with Numbers or other applications. Follow Up: Talked to the developer about the crashes that happen when a form entry was deleted - the update is already in review at Apple and he's waiting for it to be released.

Exactly What I Needed!!. Finally, an app that lets you tailor it to your personal needs. Although they have only one Tap Form to buy, I'm sure that there are hundreds of versions currently running. If you can't find a form to suit your exact needs ( and there a lot of excellent pre formated forms readily available) you can simply modify one or even better yet, create your own. Wow!! An app thet lets you create your own app. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming.

Tap Forms: indispensable information manager.. This app has saved me an incredible amount of space in my wallet - I no longer have to carry around a stack of points or membership cards. Useful App. Tap Forms does what I need in a simple to use database. When Bento disappeared I wasn't sure I'd be able to replace it - this does the job.

This is my most used app. If comparing to HanDBase, there are things it can't do, but the things it can do, it does the best. That's why I gave it 5 stars instead of 4. Because it can do nested forms, supports textexpander, photos, contacts, etc. and then formats it into a nicely designed email, I use it for quotations, logs, agendas etc. if you like HanDBase, you'll find this faster and the reporting ability right from your iPhone is something handbase can't do.

Keeps locking up. I love this app and is one I could not live without but it keeps locking up in the login screen and will not display the keypad so you can login. Have to reboot to fix. Please fix!

Great App. This is a great App. I use it for all sorts of business applications using the custom forms. The flexibility is wonderful. Tech support answers questions immediately and u very helpful. Keep up the good work.

In-App Advertisements. The newly added "App Recommendations" are irritating and totally out of place. I don"t like the idea of this app 'phoning-home" to update its ever-changing lists of ads (oh sorry: recommendations) and potentially communicating any user selections back to the app seller. I mean, with what they're charging for this, do they really need the extra few bucks? I bought this app largely based on its supposed SECURITY. Can"t we just have an app that goes online ONLY when -we- want it to?

The Best. Easy to use yet very powerful. It's come in handy for tracking property with photos and serial numbers, collections and much more.

Great App, excellent developer!. It's nice to see small developers creating such useful and thought-out software. This replaced Bento for me when FileMaker discontinued it, and does all I need it to and more. I had some troubles earlier this year (that were my own doing) and the developer was quick and comprehensive in his support. He took a lot of time to help me restore my database and get everything working again.

Excellent!!!. This has become one of my all-time favorite apps! I have been able to replace several of the apps I had on my ipod with this one. The ability to make your own forms and customize the ones already avaiable, makes this app invaluable. The interface is clean and simple, and you can email your lists to yourself or anyone else. It would be great if it were possible to back-up your data - especially since I have so much information stored. The addition of a desk-top component would also be of great value. Great work! I hope an update is on the way!

So Far, I'd have to call this a category killer.. It's a beautiful app. Well designed and user friendly. It's intuitive and easy to get going quckly. I'd like to see better security and a desktop app but so far am very pleased and looking forward to version 1.5 which is due anytime. It reminds me of Filemaker in that it is a database for non-geeks. It's also fun to play around with.

Nice app. Does it's job perfectly. Within minutes I was able to organize all my daily paperwork for my job. Nice I have another reason now to have my iPhone in my hand all day long. Sweet job great idea.

Simply the Best. I am a confessed appaholic with more than 300 downloaded apps and my favourite is Tap Forms. It is a remarkably flexible allowing anyone to create their own do lists, file systems, address lists etc. easily. Time an again I have downloaded an app just to find that I can easily forumulate the Tap Form Organiser to replicate the app and do an even better job. Powerful, Effective, and Versatile. I found this app when looking for solutions on how to track anything I wanted in a simple yet customizable way, and Tap Forms is exactly what I wanted. It's easy to use, and if you can come up with something you want to repeatedly measure or track, this app will probably have something that works for you. My only complaint is that the icon selection feels a bit lacking, and I'm personally more for simpler looking icons, but it's only a preference. I use this app to track my weight, my gas usage (calculations make filling out forms very fast!), and several other things. It's great for cataloging things like favorite movies and books, and there are countless other ways to use the app. Overall, great design!

Best Business App. This is BY FAR the most essential app I have on my Ipod Touch. With version 1.5 it is exactly what I needed. I can export all of my data from SQL Server as flat text files and get them on my Ipod in no time. It could not be easier. All of my order information, tracking numbers, customer data, inventory numbers, and contact info on my Ipod, organized in easy to view forms. Plus I can automatically update the data whenever I want wirelessly via the FTP functions. I love this application and the developer is very helpful. Perfect tool for anyone looking to store data on your Ipod/Touch so you can access it on your Ipod.

I Love TAPForms. I have fallen in love with TAPForms. My wife is even jealous. I am a principal of a school. I love having the ability to create forms to collect all types of data. I collect pictures of areas that need work in the building, teacher walkthroughs, investigations, positive notes to teacher, and the list goes on. I would love to be able to have control of how the form is displayed. Sometimes I need to be able to send a form in a certain format. This would be a great addition. I have told all my principal friend about TAPForms, they purchased it, and they love it!!!! Keep doing what you're doing TAP Forms.....

Great, and keeps getting better. After having used Bento, MacJournal, and Yojimbo for years, I had to look for an alternative because Bento was discontinued and the other two went through a very slow updating process that induced no significant new features and abandoned iCloud for Syncing. I found Tap Forms, tried it, then purchased and started using on my Macs and iPhone and iPad. The software had no serious issues, but was lacking a few features that I thought were essential. To my great surprise, and joy, the developer has been very responsive, and new great features have been introduced regularly. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a database solution that sync flawlessly across all Macs and iDevices, secure, easy to use, and flexible.

It only gets better...and Better. I have been using tapforms for a long time now, I started on my first generation phone, and now on my 3GS. Tapforms is the go-to file holder for me, but so much more. it's adaptable and versatile while still being quick to use. But more than the quality of the app, functionality and design, the most important aspect to my continued use is the developer. He has always been there for my questions and always found a way to explain solutions to me in non-geek lingo. He continues to improve his app, something that many other app developers could learn from. If you have only one files/forms app, this should be the one, and now with the advent of a free Lite version, you can all try it and see why I have stuck with it so long amidst all the competition. And no, I have no personal interest in this app and the developer is not a relative that owes me money, I just plain like what he created and how he backs his work up everyday (just like I do mine with his app). UPDATE - this app, and it's hard working developer, continues to get better, smoother and easier to use. It's nice to see an app developer take such pride in his work, now the backup is as easy as drag and drop. Fantastic.

Great App!. I'll confess I don't typically submit reviews, but I've been very happy with this app and wanted to give the developers credit. I've been trying a bunch of apps that securely store information of different types and this app has worked perfectly for what I need and is extremely customizable. Great job. The only feature request I have is the ability to add multiple photos to one photo field. It was more than I would normally spend on an app, but I feel it was worth the price. Thanks. More apps should be this well rounded.

Excellent Easy Program Design. This programmer knows how to create a fluid interface and utilizes the best of all the iPhone technologies such as camera, voice, and address book integration. They are also very responsive and involved with end users on continually evolving this app with every new tech that Apple provides. I've sampled other database apps and this far exceeds all of them combined! So easy to create a database and many different uses you'll find as you start using. I use mine as a mobil field reporting tool. Emailing forms directly to clients and vendors as inspection reports and work order requests.

NOT Disappointed. I must respond to a previous review, titled "Disappointed". Being an old Palm power user, the first thing I looked for with my iPod Touch was a solid database application. After spending two months looking at every DB app on the App Store, I settled on Tap Forms. But not because it did everything I needed. I bought this app because the developer was actively involved in evolving this product into the best database app available. Over the many updates since I bought this app late last year, the program has doubled in features and capabilities. So no, it may not have the capabilities of database programs from the Palm Pilot glory days, but I'm sure it will. Just give it some time, and a suggestion or two on the Tap Forms website.

Tapforms is excellent!. This application is powerful yet easy to use. With Tapforms I can setup a whole selection of databases to store and track my information. Within 20 minutes I setup a database to track all of my business contacts listing ALL of the data exactly as I wanted it. No compromises unlike those very limited fixed apps. No programming needed. This is truly an excellent, powerful and endlessly versatile app. Highly recommended and for what it does it's a total bargain. Love it! PS A desktop app for my MacBook Air with info synced to my iPhone Tapforms would complete my database nirvana. Forget Bento and the rest, Tapforms is the way to go. Thanks to the developer!

Well thought application. This is a very well thought application, with all the flexibility you need to custom make nice databases. I like how the developer has incorporated new features that make sense to have in this kind of application. It seems like if the developer is reading my mind about the things I miss, and a few revisions later, he incorporates them. I can see that this is not one of those applications that once out there, nobody updates them. Tap Forms seems to be an application with a lot of new improvements coming. I definitely recommend it.

Versatile and powerful app that succeeds where others falter. WHO NEEDS THIS APP: Anyone with information that needs: organizing; to be kept secure; to be accessed easily; presented well; and backed-up. IS IT WORTH IT?:This app is well worth the cost. It is very customizable and has so much potential to be whatever you need it to be. Extremely easy to use. BUG? DRAWBACKS? It was crashing for me at first and I have been in contact with the developer and this is what I have found: Brendan is very responsive to bugs, is continuing to work on the app, and has plans to roll out future synchronization. This makes me confident in my purchase decision. Great job!

Syncs data between devices, extensible to meet your needs, stable. This is a fantastic database app and syncs with no special conduit add-ons or extra purchases. It works great and has proven to be very stable and quick when doing searches. It is great to be able to pick up any of my devices and make a change or add a record, knowing that change will be available on any other device. Lots of field types to record just about any data and the record linking makes for powerful relationships. I've tried many of the iOS databases and this is the one I keep coming back to - it works, it syncs, it allows me to create databases to meet my needs and its proven to be very stable. One of the best apps on iOS today, in my opinion anyway.

The Best Inventory Control App on the Market!!!!. If you're into inventory control or record keeping then this app is AWESOME!!! It provides the most advanced design flexibility of its type for your needs. Nothing else compares. I'm a truck driver and use it to record my trips, pick up numbers, the shipper and receiver names and addresses, pick up and delivery dates and times, contacts, telephone numbers, pay per mile fees, expenses, advances and etc. This app is undervalued. If it was a computer program it would cost 10 times as much. Btw, the support is incredible. I accidentally encrypted the app one Sunday morning and Brendan responded quickly that day. I'm impressed!!!!!

Almost perfect. This was exactly what I was searching for. I needed a lightweight database app that was very flexible and easy to use. This app satisfies both of those needs. The fact that is had a very easy sync process to both the iPad and my Mac is a plus, but that is also one of its shortcomings as well. When the sync works it's wonderful, but I find I have to reset sync way to often. Maybe in the future the developer can figure out a more robust approach to this issue. I know part of this issue is with iCloud and or DropBox, but maybe a offline sync to a Mac as a master would help solve this, but I digress.

Love the app, I have one feature request. I love the app, this is a very flexible app that I use to store both personal information such as bank accounts and logins, as well as using the data base to track projects and other ongoing information. The one feature I would love to be added is the ability to show / hide categories. For example; on the main screen add a drop down arrow on the right side of the category headings, and make the a drop down list. That way when I just want to see my projects, I don't have to scroll through all my banks, insurance, movies, and other information I only rarely access.

Not quite a five star, but getting close.. I tried HanDbase and FMTouch, but I like TAP FORMS better. Good security. Love the contacts field. Tap Forms "Import Files" messing with my email account???????. I had purchased the 1.6 version last week and have now gotten the update (free - thank you I think) of 1.7. PLEASE BE AWARE that when I try to import files using this application that my email account STOPS WORKING! I have no ideal of how this could be BUT I have reset my email account for the third time today and decided to "test" my theory that it was this application that was causing the problem. Sure enough when I tried to Import Files, my email account dumped and I am not able to send emails out. Can still get emails in but can't send them. Weird. Not sure but I'll reset my email account again and wouldn't try to import any file through this application and if I can continue to send and receive emails than it has to be something this application is doing.

One of my favorite apps. Tap forms is one of the most useful apps I have on my apple devices. The ability to make customized data forms on my phone is super powerful and easy. I've created custom forms to track business site information. Back at my office, I switch to a print layout I created for the same form and print a copy out to be stored onsite. Did I mention it's encrypted? I feel safe storing critical business information in encrypted forms while leaving basic stuff, like my game collection, unencrypted. Tap forms is so versatile that i can recommend it to anyone who needs to carry and maintain critical information in an organized manner.

This is a "must have" app. I write very few app reviews. Tap Forms deserves the effort. I've been using the app for several months now and it really has become indespensible. I use it for one thing or another every day. The few times I've needed to contact the author, I've always received a quick response. And, unlike some other apps, the updates are consistent and useful. The latest addition allows one form to link to another - one to many style for the database aware reader. I keep my blood pressure readings logged, daily meds taken, to do lists, and much more. Try it out and see for yourself. No, I'm not affiliated in any way with the product - just a happy user. The iPhone App I use most often. I never write reviews, but for Tap Forms I must make an exception. I was looking for a good way to keep up with passwords & personal data. Tap Forms was that and a whole lot more! I must admit that I was reluctant to pay the higher price for an iPhone app, but, if you try, you will agree that the ease of use and flexibility are well worth it. I had an issue with backing up the data and the developer responded to my email within a couple of hours and with the answer I needed to solve the issue! All of his correspondence was polite and he really knew what he was talking about. I say, Keep up the good work!

Best all around app.. This app replaces at least 20 other productivity apps that I was using. I have spent money on other database applications and have found TapForms to be the easiest to use and the most functional of all the databases. The use of the microphone and being able to translate speech into text is a tremendous timesaver. I also need to express my gratitude to the developer of this application. He has shown a quick response to any questions that I've had and a willingness to help in anyway possible. He is definitely dedicated to making this application the best app that it can be and works diligently to help the end-user utilize its functionality.

Is Tap Forms a substitute for Bento?. A better question is Bento a substitute for Tap Forms? The answer to that question is definitely be NO. Tap Forms is vastly superior and more customizable. There is a wider range of field available including dictated notes. I have the app on my iMac, iPad and iPhone and am extremely satsified with the synchronization. Unlike Bento, attached photos and files may be viewed on the IOS devices. The customer service is extremely responsive. I e-mailed a question about calculations to the developer and I received an answer within a few hours. I am glad that Bento is being discontinued, this is a far better program.

Patience People!!!. This is an awesome app and very useful. But, just like everything else in this world, things go wrong from time to time. I discovered the crashing issue (mostly related to encrypted fields) today and emailed support. They relied back in a matter of minutes to say that the issue was fixed and submitted to Apple last week. It should be released shortly. As a work-a-round, temporarily turn off the encryption on encrypted fields until the fixed release is out. Afterwards, you can re-enable the encryption. The support team is awesome and deserves a ton of credits for all their hard work and dedication to this app. So please....... Be patient.

The standard for "Productivity". I can't tell you how much wasted money I have spent trying to find that "App" that actually does work to organize, simplify and makes life a bit more easy. This app is fully customizable and you will find many, many uses. Some of my recent uses were that I used Tap Forms to helped me organize and manage a full home remodel. I was able to create a database with every detail of every room for example paint colors and materials that were used, sizes and dimensions etc. I was able to attach pictures of receipts, keep records of labor expenses and on and on. I can say this app paid for itself and has saved me money!

Simple, smart, sexy. Okay maybe not overly sexy, but a well designed interface. I've been looking for an iOS database app to handle what I wasn't getting from the myriad of project management or task management apps. Thankfully there was this which I am now using to organize my life. Well done, guys. Really well done. One minor beef is that what they call forms is technically a table but I suppose they don't want to get too technical for non-Database Administrator oriented folks. So I originally thought they were missing a key level of organization and nearly panned the app. Thankfully I decided to try it.

Hands down this is the best database. I've tried other dB but none are as simple as TF. TF 2.0 is even better!!! I've been trying to get my dB backup for a long-time with syncdoc without any success, but with TF 2.0 backup was easy using iTunes File Sharing. It was EASY and QUICK! I've been using TF for over a year now. The main reason while I still use it is the fact that it is customizable. Another reason is it is real easy to use as well. I use TF for to inventory my personal belonging, Frequent Flyer numbers, and homework assignments. With me being able to customize any form, it makes it simple for input. If you are looking for a dB that is simple, easy to understand, not complicated, customizable and fun - Tap Forms 2.0 is what you want! Update: I've been using this app for 2+ years now and it keeps getting better and better as time goes along. The best improvement that came out is iOS cloud sync. All my iOS devices have the same database across all of them. I remember the days when I hated creating a new form and then having to export it to Dropbox and then import. Then having to remove dups. What a pain that was. No more.

Excellent and versatile data input. I was looking for something that facilitates management of information and end up with a gathering point for valuable data. This app leases itself to storing many categories or types of information. It is easy for me to input an assortment of different data together. You create a template akin to a form that you can fill in with new, real time data as you see fit. For example, I like to group my personal favorite apple apps together with relevant data like user name, passwords, website, support link, and even screenshot. Every time I open a new form, I input the necessary information so that over time, I have a collection that stays well organized. This information can be easy to find when I need it, because I forget a lot.

Pocket office. I just started as a real estate agent and I am overwhelmed at all the paperwork I need to keep on file. Tapforms allows me to put all of that paperwork right into my iPhone 6 plus. Instead of taking paperwork home from the office I now take pictures of it and enter into the appropriate database I setup. This is my favorite app for work hands down! I found it is easier to create databases on the iPhone then to create them on my Mac. iCloud feature is nice so all of your information and databases are pushed out to all of your devices. If you ever have trouble or questions about the app the developer is great about responding back to you. You will not find another database app like this one.

Great database for organizing ideas. I use Tap forms on Mac and iPhone to organize a large collection of notes on various topics. It is very flexible and allows ranking and sorting of ideas according to categories that I choose. It has actually been an extremely valuable tool for organizing my life. The syncing feature through dropbox works very well, as opposed to the iCloud syncing feature, which is a constant source of headaches (not the developers fault). Fortunately you have the option of choosing the syncing service that works best for you. The developer is extremely responsive and helpful through his website if any problems are encountered. Thank you Brendon for creating and constantly improving this highly useful tool!

Great for keeping track of... anything!. I've gotten to the point where I have an awful lot to keep track of – books, movies, email aliases, where storage items are located and so forth. Tap Forms is great for this, but what really sets it apart is the iCloud sync. I bought the app for iPhone (great for adding pictures), iPad, and Mac, and have yet to find a similar app capable of syncing between all three. Normally I use spreadsheets for these sorts of things, but mobile data entry is much better with Tap Forms, as is picture support. I highly recommend the app, and it's flexible enough that it probably caters to a lot of use cases I haven't thought of yet.

After the update on 8 October, it truncated all decimals, I.e. 201.3 becomes 291. Please fix!. While this is not intended to be a powerful relational database, it is very good at what it does. I use it for keeping track of weight and blood pressure, but it is perfect for any application where you are away from your computer and want to enter the data point with a mobile device. The sync to iCloud words well and it can easily be exported to Excel for analysis, charting, etc. I have been using this program for number of years and have found the developer is very good at the occasional update and feature improvement.

Great App. Works as advertised. I find it more useful every day. Exporting my data to a universal format, csv, is very important to me. January 5, 2012 update. Still 5 star app. Developer very quick to respond on the sites forums. Very quick to fix bugs. Yes, every piece of software very likely has bugs. The deciding factor is how the developer goes about recognizing that and correcting it. This developer is great about how he does it. I think the "disappearing notes" bug was responded to and corrected as quickly as the processes involved would allow. Good job. April 18, 2013 update Bugs fixed. Still continue to love this app.

10 Minutes and already WOW !!!. I have been looking for a handheld database to create the tracking content that I want to create and attempted "list master" app but it's not even close to the Interface in tap forms. I have played around in 10 minutes and everything seems so intuitive that I wished I developed it myself. This is a definite tool I will be using immediately but wanted to write a review because for less than lunch cost, I have so much database power in my hand to basically create anything custom that I want. I highly recommend it.

Great, except for Export and Backup Functionality. I really like the application itself. It was well structured, and very stable. But the export and backup features belong in DOS. The setup process is convoluted, involve 3rd party software (which I spend an hour trying to configure), and simply too involved to be worth the trouble. Yes, one can email the back too, but all it does is dump the data as text into an email. Now what? There are other applications on iTunes that manage a seemless backup or export process, so I know that they do exist (iOwn is one of them). This one isn't it. I'm sure that the smarter people here did just that, and I can't fault them for their success. But for me, and the hour that I lost, it was not a Mac moment I want to remember.

Really great App. I must say I am enjoying my life. I have been using Bento since they first released it. I never really liked it. It also erased my entries and I couldn't sync with the cloud. It's unethical that they are still selling that app with intention to fix anything. I made the switch and I couldn't be happier. They folks really care about making an awesome database app. I noticed a bug when entering text in a version that wasn't out long. They fixed it really quickly. Wireless syncing between mac, iPad and iPhone has been flawless. Entering data, creating custom databases, using calculations. Love it all. Nice work.

great app. This app is awesome. After playing with it and consulting the forums, I have figured out how to effectively use this app and I love it. I can make lists of everything with pictures and audio and what not. Right now I am working on a database of all my 220 movies and am half way done thanks to the important feature. I am also working on a book database. The greatest thing is that it allows me to also export so i can put all the information in and export my book list then import my book list into endnote and have biographical data right there for each book sorted and all. I love this app. I am sure I will find millions of uses for this app.

Better than Bento!. I was so upset when Apple stopped supporting their Bento program. I use it to track all of my craft and sewing supplies. I continued using it, but kept being afraid that with every OS upgrade, it would stop working. I reluctantly searched for a new database program when I came across this program. This program is great- better than Bento! I was able to seamlessly transfer all my data out of Bento into this program. I also purchased the computer version and syncing between the two is flawless. I truly couldn't be happier- keep up the great job!

Thank you for an amazing app!!. This is the database manager I have been looking for! As a hardcore gamer whom hosts tournaments and practice functions with competitive gamers. Thanks to this amazing database with deep, yet simple to navigate interface features. I am able to create/edit a database full of my and others experiences, docket them under they're appropriate categories, with pictures indicative of the subject matter. Tricks & Tips, Strategies, Match up Knowledge, Known Bugs/Glitches, Unit description & Details. I just had to take the time out to congratulate the developers. I downloaded the lite version, tested it, and immediately bought the full version. Another "HUGE" proponent that made me purchase the full version, was checking your update revisions. Once I saw these developers are constantly updating/integrating new features onto the app - It was a no brainer to click the buy button. As a gamer, this is a main staple to games I decide to spend my time and commitment with. Updates, Revisions, Features and if the developers are listening. Tapforms is right up my alley with this, they seem to get it.

Wow!! Awesome!. This app has saved my sanity! It has effectively replaced 3 apps I was previously using. I now store and organize all my information in Tap Forms. Why purchase multiple apps to secure your passwords, logging app, daily diary and your database to store your movie collection. There are so many different ways to organize your data in this app. It's graphical interface is very nice and a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other so called data management apps. Plus, import and exports cvs files if you don't want to input all your data on the phone. I could go on and on. Download the app, you won't be dissapointed. :)

Great app so many uses!. I love this app, it has so many uses and is very customizable. I have created my own databases to keep track of what size and type of clothes we have for my son so when I find new deals I know what to buy. Anyone who has ever tried to keep track of a toddler's clothing will understand how useful this can be. I also have a database to keep track of the maintenance on my two cars. I tried the apps specifically created for this and they were all horrible. I must have deleted 5 of them. So I decided to create a database using this app and it works flawlessly. The best part is it is easy to back everything up so you don't lose your data. One of the most useful apps I have downloaded. Thank you!

Great app, exceptional support. First, the support part. I ran into a problem with sync on one of my Macs. The developer replied almost immediately, and late in the day. It took some effort and all the responses were very fast and helpful. I wish everyone did support like this. The app itself works great. I came over from Bento when that product was discontinued. After a little learning curve, I’m doing everything I need to and finding a few new things that are helpful. The app is super-easy to use, being pretty much like laying out text/spaces on a piece of paper or in a word processing application. No technical effort needed at all. There are some powerful features though that make it quite useful for many tracking, inventory, form, and similar needs.

Outstanding design. I've never written a review before but felt compelled to comment on this excellently designed app. I downloaded this app to use as a database to review and catalog wine. I have been frustrated by the inability of all of the wine apps to backup or export my saved information. With this app I was easily able to design a custom form with the fields that I needed. The app is very well thought out and designed and is lightening fast. With the ability to import and export .csv files I was able to transfer my previous wine information to a spreadsheet and import it into the app. Although it took some time to set up, (mostly due to my inexperience) the built in ftp server and ability to transfer files is an incredible bonus. Overall this is an excellent app that I highly recommend.

Love this app ... but still lacks sync. I've been using this app for about 3 years and I really love it. Let's me categorize and customize my information. My only frustration is that it cannot do a true sync between devices now that my husband has an iPhone and we have an iPad. Yes, it does do a back up and restore, but it's not the same. If a change is made an another device and I don't know it, restoring an back up from one device could potentially wipes out the changes made on the other devices. The developer has stated he is working on it, but it's been over a year. I've had to start using another app, but I keep this one on my phone ... just in case. Please add it soon. I really do prefer TapForms.

Amazing and Versatile!. I truly don't believe that there is anything this app can't do. That there is no data hungry shape it cannot morph into. Whatever you want to store or track and report on and all the number massaging that goes with it, this app can be EASILY made to take it, store it, report on it, archive it (off site no less), and whatever else you wanna do with your data. It's kinda like a database in a can, only there's no can! Check it out, you won't regret it. I don't normally recommend products, but I'll do it for this one because it is one of the few that really is amazing!

Very Nice!. I don't think i'll ever run out of new ways to use this application! This is genius! I've gotten started with a mileage log, website passwords log, and a vehicle maintenance log. The website features a vote-tracking software, where you can submit ideas and view/vote on the ideas of others. It would be nice if I could make a field that was a calculation based on 2 other fields, so I cast my vote on the web-site feedback for it. I can see that the developer is very responsive to the community, and is working to implement the ideas of his customers. Thanks for such a great app!

Just what I was looking for. Excellent easy to use app. Some suggestions: Allow for better use of space by having the option of putting the title of the text box and the text on the same line. Clicking responses are not activated on the left side of the screen, would like to see when I click the > symbol to go to the contents. Allow for font size adjustment. Have the option to just have a pop-up menu (by just pressing the blank space for the item, maybe have some symbol to indicate popup option) with frequently selected options without having to click twice. Overall very impressive app.

Excellent Mobile Database App. I am a database developer (have been for 10 years), and I am loving this app! I setup a simple "Bills" database in a matter of minutes and was able to do just about everything with it that I need (except for table joins to track payments on said bills… it seems that will come in 2.0.2!). Also, I noticed that you can export/import the database file from iTunes and easily edit it with the free "Navicat for SQLite Lite" app on my Mac (it's in the Mac App Store). I'm probably going to use that to copy records from my Microsoft Access database and clean up all of the unwanted "forms" (in reality they're just records in one table and are treated like individual tables within Tap Forms) that came with it. In short, get it while it's free! You won't be sorry!

A welcome well polished database!. I use this frequently, and have been using for about three months. No data loss, syncs quickly between my iPhone and iMac. Easy to work with, and since you can alter your own creations at will, you are not locked into someone else's concept of a list. Development seems to be progressing with regular updates, definitely an alternative to FileMaker which had a big learning curve, costs a lot more, and would require a dedicated server and software to serve the file to do what this application accomplished without.

Solid replacement for Bento. I purchased Bento for both Mac and iPhone/iPad. Great app except the biggest deal breaker: terrible or non-existing backup and sync. This app solves the problem. The biggest grief I have with this app is that is terribly ugly to look at while Bento was "Mac-like." The developers should realize that we need good looking forms since 99% of customers use the form in business in front of a customer. iPhone users don't work at Bob's Mechanic where you can use ugly hardware, software and invoice sheets. We work at snobby places like Sushi restaurants where we are using our form as part of our branding... Businesses that have iPads want a Bento-looking form. Formstack should step 1) make a presentable icon. That would solve 90% of the problem and let me move the app to my home screen. Maybe consider having a shorter name to go with the icon or no name at all. If it looked better this would be go to app for work. Also some things are slow at times but no big deal. The features plus cloud support make this clearly the best form app that I've seen, but it should clearly be crushing Bento, and it's not. Too ugly to look like and looks like it belongs on a 1995 palm pilot more than an iPhone.

Solid app, well worth the money. This is a really well-written app and does what I was looking for and more. I ran across this looking for a journal app where I could keep my thoughts for the day as well as some diet and exercise logs. I am now using tap forms for that and all of my other personal info. The best features are: customizable forms, awesome interface, well-thought out standard forms, encryption, customizable pick lists and import/export. I had a spreadsheet with close to 200 web site logins and was able to import those easily. I found a few minor bugs and have some small feature requests, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
