Eyepatch. This game is ok.. However after getting and enchanting the eyepatch the game refuses to allow me to equip it.. Super frustrating, and i cannot proceed in the game until I'm able to put the eyepatch on.. Please fix this!

Decent. Maybe it’s because I’ve never played the previous games but I found the ending to be abrupt and incredibly unsatisfying as a heads up. Up until that point the game was enjoyable, the puzzles made sense and the hint book was appreciated when needed. Aside from the ending my only other issues is the two finger swipe to skip dialogue sometimes didn’t work and would take multiple tries until it did.

No sound. No sound when playing the game with volume at max

You need this game. Who knew this was actually going to happen AND make it to the best point and click platform: iOS. Great puzzles, funny, logical. Just one of the best P&C games from the old master Ron Gilbert. I just wish MI1 and MI2 were still available on iOS.

Excellent throwback. This was so nostalgic for me as I played a long long time ago. I love the developers note at the end of the scrapbook. I also felt very similar playing as I’m older now. I can’t wait to let my kids have a try. I could not put this down over the last couple days it was super super good. Love love love this, great job and I’ll spread the word as much as I can <3

Fun new chapter in the classic favorite. All your favorite characters are back in this fan favorite. Ahoy Matey. Shiver me timbers swashbucklers. The mighty fierce pirate Guybrush needs your help again. If I told you the secret of Monkey Island, it wouldn’t be a secret. Lots of fun classic traditional puzzles, fun characters, cutely drawn story boards, great music per scene and more. Awesome voiceovers.

Restore option?. Edit: One month later, where is the fix for the restore of past purchases? Is it too late to ask for a refund? Where is the restore option for those of us that purchased the game before it became free to try? Still waiting….

Update made my game unplayable. I purchased the game when it first arrived on iOS. However, it now requires me to buy it again to continue playing it. Will there be a restore purchase option?

Fantastic walk down memory lane. I absolutely LOVED this game! I played the first two Monkey Island games back in the 90s and this one is just as fun. Lots of great puzzles, bad jokes, and swashbuckling fun! Also, a very nice nod to the game Adventure to those of you who played that text-based game.

Just like old times. I think im at least half-way through, so I can say that this game is fantastic. The humor and puzzles are just like the old games. I think the only complaint anyone could give is the art style, which I don’t mind. My son however…

Awesome game making me nostalgic. What can I say? I’m not even done playing the game, and I’m compelled to write this review. I first played The Secret of Monkey Island back in the early 90’s on my PC. I had already played some of the Sierra games, and LucasArts games were soooo much better. With the Sierra games like the King’s Quest series, you could actually come to a dead end and spend hours wandering around and not realize you were doomed. Your character could die. They were horrible that way. The Monkey Island games are wonderful. Intriguing storyline. You can’t die. You can’t do anything that will ruin your chances of figuring things out. I love that about these games. They are full of humor. I laughed out loud a couple times. Speaking of humor, I’m wondering if in this current game they are making fun of the current crop of “adventure games” and “escape games” what with the symbols placed everywhere and LeChuck claiming he hates puzzles while manipulating something I’ve seen in a lot of the games I’ve played. I played them b/c I didn’t realize graphic adventure games were still a thing. I had played the 1st and 2nd Monkey Island, but the third installment was too advanced for my PC at the time. After that, I was dealing with college and graduating and working, and I just didn’t keep up with the technology. So, I know that the games were re-released in the 2000’s, but I don’t have the equipment to run them on. Since, Maniac Mansion Day of the Tentacle was re-released for iPad, I’m hoping they will re-release the former Monkey Island games for ipad. Please, please. Pretty please. I’m begging. I would love to replay those early games. They were so much fun! I just love them! I also love the way the hints are incorporated into the game. Gosh, I remember calling the hint line multiple times and hoping that my folks didn’t freak out when the phone bill came! And I love that the hints are true hints. They don’t just give you the solution; they walk you through the logic. And speaking of logic, that’s the best thing about these types of games versus the weird escape room games. Why would you push a potted plant out of the way to see some numbers written on the floor beneath it? That makes no sense in reality. In the Monkeyverse, you do things that make sense. You need to unlock something? Well, there’s a locksmith. Go talk to her. Makes perfect sense. The only thing I didn’t care for was the graphics. But honestly, they could be stick drawings and I’d still play the game. That’s how loyal I am to the Monkeyverse. TLDR: This game rocks! Please re-release the old Monkey Island games, and please keep making more! These are the best games in the world. I hate being so hyperbolic, but I just really love them!

One of my all time favorites. This brings me back to the adventure games of my childhood like Sierra and Kinqs Quest and Monkey Island please make some more they don’t make games like they used too

A fun game. I had to use hints more than I liked and even had to lookup a walkthrough on how to beat the Queen. But all in all it’s an amazing game the one thing that really got me was not being able to skip dialog though.

Review. Super fun game, I only play on hard mode in any game but i had to asks for a ton of hints but i legit couldn't put this game down i really enjoyed it and kinda bummed I bet it and its over lolol I've been play for 2 days straight even when I'm at work and i realllly love how thought out this game is, developer did a great job

Update killed my game. Though I paid for the complete game, the update won’t let me continue without buying again, and developer won’t respond to my issue. Beware.

Promising re-visit. In the scenes with all the kids, it was at first worrisome for older fans that they MI they remember is a kid game now, but then you’re Guybrush again and it all satisfies. I am at the part having the map to the mop and a hint refers to place that I can’t find; I wish it were clearer whether this is the point at which you have to buy the game before proceeding or if I missed something, it would be nice of the devs to make it clearer.

Shut up and take my money.. Best game series ever. Nothing comes close.

Please make more. I really liked this game. I really liked the art work and storyline. I hope they make more or redo the old version because the older ones are clunky for today’s use. Or change perspective and make the game from Elaine’s point of view or just her own storyline.

It’s worth every penny!. It’s been quite a while playing a game with rich storylines.

Game Ending is rushed. Game starts off strong, but then you notice the game is recycling areas throughout the game, and without spoiling anything the ending is utter dissapointment. One moment you’re about to see the climax of the story, the next…well youre let down in the most laziest way possible. Such a shame, I grew up with Guybrush.

NO SOUND ON IPHONE 8. Fix the sound on iPhone 8!!!!! There is NO SOUND!!!!!

1.01 update nerfed my purchase. Since the update the game has become convinced that I have not purchased it… it’s currently unplayable.

Love the nostalgia but controls are defective. None of the controls that require two fingers work, so I have to listen to painfully long dialog. Woe to me if I accidentally select a scene I’ve already cleared. If these were corrected, this would be a 5 star game.

Soooo much dialogue. There should be a lite version of this game. There is so much dialogue that you can’t skip through and because of this the game is very slow paced. If I had known, I wouldn’t have spent $10 on this game.

Fantastic Point & Click!. If you are old enough to remember the classic point and click games like Monkey Island, Police Quest, King’s Quest, Space Quest, and you loved them, this game is for you! What a fun game, I literally couldn’t put it down for 2 days until I solved it. The puzzles are challenging on hard mode, I thought they were good. I cannot speak for easy mode. Definitely recommend this game and hope more are on the way.

Sound Stopped Working. After about 30 minutes of gameplay the sound stopped working completely. I have checked the game settings, checked my phone’s settings, restarted the app, restarted my phone, and finally deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing has fixed the issue. The game is useless and not worth $10 without audio.

New version removed my purchase?. I had purchased the game months ago but now when I start a New Game it prompts me to buy it????

Great adventure game until it bugged out. Massive Monkey Island fan here and loved playing through it but for some reason when I was at the lava pit after finding all 5 keys it glitched asking me again to pay for the app or ‘procrastinate’. So i deleted it thinking that my saved game would be on gamecentre but as I discovered this was not the case. Wont be running through it again…. Hoping there will be more Monkey Islands or other Lucasgames from that era

Nostalgia Peaked. This game brought back great memories of Monkey Island from my childhood playing on Amiga hours on end. Times and technology changed but Guybrush not so much. ❤️ Thank you Dave and Ron for this.

Amazing game, and would be even more immersive with full screen optimisation for newer iPhone models. I love this game, but the letterboxing on the sides of the screen is annoying to have there. Could the developers kindly update the optimisation on newer phones please? Much love.

An incredible ending to one of the best pc games ever…. I had so much fun playing this, I couldn’t put it down. Having played The Secret of Monkey Island back in the early 90’s when I was like nine or ten, this took me on a nostalgia trip down memory lane. I’ll be honest, I shed a few tears when the credits started rolling knowing this will be the last adventure with Guybrush on Monkey Island. Thank you Ron Gilbert for the entire Monkey Island experience. I have so many fond memories playing the series as a kid, and a few more now as an adult.

Paid initially for game, and disappointed to be asked to pay again.. Corrected, updated review.. Although I was initially disappointed that the game was updated to a “free to play” mode, with an option to pay extra to get a full update, and there was no provision for former owners, the developer was kind enough to provide an unlock code after writing them and informing them of the situation. I am updating my former one star review to four stars, and happy that the developer took this step. I would have preferred, though, that the full version would be provided automatically to former owners. Possibly this will happen with a future update. The game itself is a true gem, and brings back fond memories of how adventure games should be made.

Perfect but needs a patch. Excellent game but probably needs a bash for sound, because neither dialogue or music or FX are playing.

Absolute masterpiece!. RTMI is a wonderful addition to an already amazing series - absolutely enjoyed this chapter and really appreciate that Ron returned to this series to give us one more adventure with Guybrush Threepwood. Not only was it a great story bit itself, it really tied everything together and made me appreciate the other games even more. Highly recommended!
