Simply one of the best out there. I bought this after much consideration thinking it was a bit expensive but I wish I had bought it right away. Not only is the game beautiful to look at, the ease of controls and the increasing level of complexity made for weeks of play. Some levels are extremely difficult but in the end, the game teaches about the use of limited resources and how to make the most out of them. This game is largely non-violent outside of being blown up by mines which is actually an aspect of strategizing the game teaches as your progress. There are no time limits so it’s not stressful in that way. The amount of game time you will put into this will amaze you. I played it nightly on my iPad for nearly 9 months as a way to relax. Online videos showing hard to find Easter eggs will add hours to your game play. The “philosophy” aspect of the game was intelligent and thought provoking. In the end, it was one of the most satisfying games I’ve bought and I’m hoping they develop part 2.

iPad with controller is amazing.. This game is amazing. THANK YOU for the controller support. Using a controller on the iPad for this game really is the closest to a console-like experience I’ve had. I was also pleasantly surprised to see it running at what seems to me to be a solid 60fps. Very well polished, clean, looks great, hours upon hours of entertainment. I love the mystery, the cool hexadecimal hidden text, and well thought out puzzles. I love seeing games turn the industry on it’s head by doing something different (incorporating philosophy and such) I Wish there were more games out there like this.

Intelligent, thought-provoking, beautiful. This is the most intricate, thought-provoking, and genuinely clever game I have ever played. The game play is smooth. The main puzzles are fascinating, difficult but not overly so. But the real beauty of it all is in the extra content. Finding the secret levels and Easter eggs, playing through the different endings, solving the mystery of who you are, what you are, where you are, when you are, and what is going on is hands down the most enjoyable experience I've ever had while gaming. This game is so beautifully designed, and the intelligence that went into all of it is appreciated.

Version 1.4 controls worse. This game is awesome, but the controls (still) need some work. I'm not a fan of the changes to the Virtual Gamepad that we're made in Version 1.4 - liked it better before. 1. Virtual Analog Stick - I like that it's stuck in one place. This makes more sense. It would make even more sense if you allowed the player to configure the location. 2. Jump button - it's better that it's out of the way, but not great that it's all the way at the top of the screen. It would also be nice if the player could reposition this button. 3. Tap control vs Crosshair/contextual actions. I do not like the method of tapping on the circles to interact with items. I liked it better seeing options based on the context of what the crosshairs are on. Please give us the option of switching back to crosshairs. The current method makes it really hard to drop an item if there are other actions you can perform on the screen. 4. Menu button hanging off side of screen. Prior to this update, the menu button was neatly hidden away. Now it's sticking out all the time. This breaks the immersive feeling of the game.

A most remarkable gaming achievement. I've never had a game instill feelings of complete awe or terrifying vertigo, or made me think deeply and philosophically about my worldview. How amazing to luck into getting this on sale during the holiday season for 99 cents! 8 months later I finally finish it and now want to go back and play it again (even though some of the levels were irritating to the nth degree!) I question if the game is really completable without an external controller (Eagle's Nest), but overall I found the virtual gamepad to be easier to work with on most things than my GameSir T4 (don't even try to use the Tap&Swipe option!) By far the most immersive gaming experience of my life, thank you CroTeam!

AAA title for $5. I’m only about an hour in and I am entertained, intrigued, and very pleased. This is easily one of the best games available for iOS and deserves to be permanent resident in the top sales charts. If you’re perusing the reviews to decide if this is worth buying, my opinion is a resounding “yes”. Solid and satisfying puzzles are the heart of the gameplay; immersive lighting, graphics, and ambient sound effects create a beautiful and believable world; top-notch voice acting hints at your place in this world; and an excellent plot and presentation keeps you searching for answers (and questions). The only negative points I saw in the reviews pertained to a somewhat frustrating default control scheme (switch to the virtual stick in the menu found in the upper-left corner of the screen), and occasional downloading problems (bug Apple). Scrolling through the reviews, I’m impressed that the devs are paying a lot of attention to what is, for them, an older game (originally released in 2014). As someone who paid for Bioshock and Xcom (not cheap by iOS standards) only to see them abandoned and unplayable, I appreciate Croteam’s commitment. Apart from the obvious references to Greek mythology and Paradise Lost, I’m also picking up vibes from Portal, 2001 - A Space Odyssey, and even the original Battlestar Galactica (the first voice reminds me of the Ship of Light). Just my impressions, and I’m sure others will have equally varied thoughts. TLDR summary- buy it.

Incredible, with minor nuisances. Beautiful game, graphics, story - it’s a treat. However, the controls for “place an object on top of the cube on this mine” and “walk forwards off the ledge and blow yourself up” are precisely the same thing, making precise placement very frustrating on levels; I know a solution, but am unable to place the objects as needed (in specific the C5 ‘jammed’ level). Update: tapping the ghost-object also places it, in addition to the dot that appears. My issues were solved, and I was thoroughly impressed by the game.

Outstanding Production Quality - Great Puzzles. Surprisingly huge amount of content. Thinking of other $5 mobile games, I thought I was about finished, only to find I was just a quarter way through! They say it’s 30 hours of content. That might be true if you knew the solution to every puzzle and clicked straight through. It’s easily five times that. Two favorite things about the game: 1. It provides many satisfying “...but what if I... ah ha!” moments. (Sometimes you have to put it away for a day before the answer comes to you.) 2. The amazing soundtrack that changes personality to match the world you’re in. It’s one of the few games I play with the music on. Two “nits”: 1. The touch target could be more forgiving. (If I’m tapping on a drone that might kill me, I probably don’t mean I want to walk towards it.) If we’ve figured out the solution to the puzzle, it can be frustrating to be foiled by the mechanics of the controls. 2. Yes, like another reviewer said, we miss some of the terminal conversation text as it scrolls by. I’m just hoping they weren’t pivotal clues to the final solution. Thanks for producing a great game, with amazing attention to detail, at a steal of a price!

Fun game, great storyline. Had a blast playing this. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. Often, the answer to one of them would come to me just before I went to sleep at night or after I went and tried a different level for a bit. By the time I reached the last part of the game I was totally engaged and curious about how it would end. Hope they make a part two or a similar adventure! Thanks to all the developers and various teams who created and helped get this game out to us. You guys are awesome!

For kill or be killed gamers, not relaxing puzzle gamers. I stupidly bought this without investigating further. The graphics are nice, but I thought this would be a relaxing yet intriguing puzzle game a la Myst, The Room, Legacy, etc. however, you have to move quickly before something kills you and I’m not a fan of those type of games especially when there is no instruction on how to use the “jammers” or weapons. I have tried pressing on the mind to stop it I have tried pressing on the camera to stop the mine, but I always get blown up. Too stressful and frustrating. There’s no way to turn off that element. I imagine this is easier on a gaming laptop, Xbox or PS4. Too difficult on a mobile device. A huge huge waste of five bucks.

Beautiful and amazing. This game has brought me much more than I thought it would. The puzzles are sincerely genius and the learning curve is perfect. It starts off fairly easy and gains difficulty quickly. There are also many secrets to discover in this game. The secrets, while not required to find, are very satisfactory when you find them. I only have 5 stars left to find and will continue to look until I find them. I got to admit though, some of these stars seem impossible to find. Thanks developers for creating a great game. However, some of the secrets can not be gotten because of the controls.

One Gripe. This is an incredible game, and if you enjoy puzzles, buy it immediately. If you are also a completionist, like me, you may be left wanting. I have played through nearly the entire game, and I have encountered two levels that are so difficult I have almost given up trying. Whole lot of Jamming and Egyptian arcade are extremely difficult on IOS. This game was originally made for mouse and keyboard, which makes sense and would make these levels very doable. However on mobile, the quick movements and turnarounds make for a nearly impossible scenario with the controls scheme available. I would hope the developers would come back and implement a patch, or some sort of workaround, for these and any other levels that require such quick timing and movements to pass.

great port of a fantastic game, needs to be updated. The iOS version of this game is super well optimized, on my iPhone 13 Pro it actually plays a lot better than my Xbox One X (worse image quality, but much higher and more stable framerate). This game does need to be updated to support ProMotion, the frame rate is consistently high and but persistent judder makes it feel less than entirely smooth.

Pretty good. Now, don't get me wrong, I still prefer the pc version of the game (I don't own a PS4.) but this game actually works pretty well. The graphics are ok, not the same but still acceptable. And the overall game, although I only played a bit of world A1, is extremely similar. Unlike the LEGO console and DS games, which are noticbly different, this games puzzles are exactly the same as the pc version. If you want the full experience, I would reccemond the PC or even the PS4 version, but if your looking for a cheaper or more portable version, I would get this one. Regardless, the game is great no matter which version you get.

Love the game. Frustrating controls. I’m probably more than halfway through and so far have moved the game. Great storyline. Pretty impressive graphics on my iPad Pro 10.5, great puzzles. Biggest gripe is with both modes of control. In puzzles that rely on precise and quick movements while being able to see around you, tap and swipe fails miserably. And the virtual joystick has no way to enable running that I can tell. Maybe I’m missing something. This is the first time I’ve felt I needed an MFI controller on an iPad. I think it may be the only way to really enjoy the game.

Great game, frustrating controls at times. This is a great game with just about one flaw: the touch area for selecting objects is too small, especially in the default tap-to-move mode. If it were only 50% larger in radius I’d give this game a 5+ rating. As it stands however, touching a sentinel robot just a few pixels off not only fails to target it, it **steps toward** the sentinel, ensuring your demise. Virtual gamepad mode helps address this, but is a bit clunky itself and it remains frustrating to poke poke poke the screen. Given that I have the whole rest of the screen for look gestures this seems a safe fix. Another easy interface change I’d like to see is that the jammer’s “drop” button remain even if a target is in sight. Currently, to drop the scanner targeting nothing, you have to stop moving, look at the sky, and then hit drop. Together these flaws made Labyrinth in particular nearly impossible, even in virtual gamepad mode. Finally, when using the prism reflectors many targets fail to show up until you “nod” the view back and forth a few times. I often would get my guy in just the one right spot to reflect everything and then find that when I tried to pick the target I’d step out of position. Don’t understand why visible targets lose their buttons. (Spoiler alert for my last comment) ... ... ... For the final puzzle, exclude all codes with the number 8. It’s too easy to think that’s the level you’re on. Mine started 88 and so I took no notice of the clues.

Fantastic! I can’t wait to play this again. Update for iPhone X: one small bug. Please change the persistent iOS home indicator from being persistent to auto-hide. As it is now, not only is it too easy to accidentally go home, the bright white bar really distracts from the game’s visuals. I loved this game on steam. I can’t wait to play it again on iOS. So far, the graphics are awesome. The controls are a bit strange, but you can revert to a traditional two-stick scheme, which might be easier in some of the later levels where timing is critical. Bravo for bringing this awesome AAA game to iOS!

Unable to complete game on iPad Pro 12.9. This game is long, has stunning graphics, and decent controls using the virtual gamepad. However a bug in the Eagle’s Nest level prevents acquiring a sigil that enables entry to tower level 5. In the PC version you can drop a cube to the ground when flying over the courtyard. On the iPad Pro you just cannot drop the cube and they fly by and never end up in a location necessary to complete the level. After spending hours solving all of the levels to get to the tower it is very frustrating to have this bug prevent completion of the game. I finally was able to finish this level using a bluetooth game controller that allowed me to release the cube by pressing a button.

Love it, but.... I have to say that after playing this, all other games seem disappointing. It is very frustrating and challenging at times but well worth playing. Only issue I have is that I had almost completed everything and it seems I walked through a gate that “ended” my game and reset all progress. I would have loved to have made it up the tower as that seems like the ultimate goal. Not sure I will invest all the time again to reach the point in the game I had previously achieved. All in all very enjoyable gameplay, but disappointing way to end it for me.

Captivating and thoughtful.. At first glance this game seems simply like a well constructed puzzler. However once I got into it it was apparent that this was much, much more. It’s non-linear design is fantastic and I’m totally hooked. Some of the puzzles are very difficult and some quite simple. It gives a good change of pace and there is a phenomenal story and feel to the whole thing. I’m totally hooked. I personally changed the controls and I find it much more engaging to use the virtual game pad style.

Computer station doesn’t have scrolling back :(. I wanted to give this a 5* because this game is really awesome and I’m very invested in the story but the problem is when my character is talking to the computer station I can’t scroll up to see everything it’s written, I’m only getting the bottom half and if it’s the end of the conversation it basically blocks out everything because the main screen shows up and the rest is lost. It’s such a shame because the arguments and ideas proposed by the computer station are very deep and existential. I hate that I’m missing part of it. Devs if you’re reading this by chance, my device is an iPhone 6. Hopefully this is fixed, if so I will amend my review to reflect the improvements. :)

Best IOS game graphically so far. First off, this game is stunning. From the graphics to the dialogue it blows other mobile games out of the water. Also I love how you include philosophy in this game. I love to philosophize myself and listening to the narration and reading the interesting text hidden throughout the maps I have a truly enjoyable time with it. I haven’t quite finished the game and the puzzles are most definitely increasing in difficulty but there’s nothing a little downtime won’t fix. This game is very large so don’t expect to finish it in one sitting. I’ve given this game 5 stars however as just an idea, the first person touch/look controls can be finicky at times and I often find my screen has done a 180 for an unknown reason. Hopefully this can be resolved in the future. Otherwise GREAT WORK!

Bad controls and boring play. Beautiful graphics with tiresome play. In a nutshell: wander around beautiful scenery using cumbersome controls, find a stun gun, use gun to strategically inactivate mines/force fields/death rays to collect a sigil, repeat. After collecting a set of sigils, do a fit-the-sigils-together puzzle. Maybe somewhere down the line the game play changes, but I see that I have at least 15 sigils to collect as of now and I really don’t want to do this same, unenjoyable gameplay that long. The game really needs to implement controls like Xon to make navigation more natural, but even that wouldn’t save me from the one-dimensional gameplay. Sorry I spent the money.

No iphone8 plus resolution. It did not even take 1 second to realize this game uses a scaled resolution on iphone 8 plus. It looks blurry compared to other games After playing jade empire, gta:sa, monster hunter, bully scholarship edition then coming to this.. talos principle looks super blurry in comparison. All the other games appear as crisp because they use the real iphones resolution. This should too I understand/appreciate the optimizations to the visuals and can stomach the lower res textures.. but come on. Native screen resolution is paramount. Talos principle uses a resolution of 1472x828 Iphone 8 plus screen is 2200x1200 or something The result is a scaled image. Blurry. And considering iphone8 plus is more powerful than ps4/xb1 and scores 40% higher than a 7th gen intel i5 on geekbench. there is no excuse for this. There should be advanced video options. Mobile devices are not weak. Its not developers job to worry about peoples phones overheating. Other games give you a warning if you turn up the graphics really high. My phone can handle it its my phone not yours Please i want talos principle to be CRISP AND HD!

A beautiful game that is frustrating at times. This game is beautiful to play but also frustrating at times. I’m using the default controller settings (touch and swipe) but the deeper I get into the game the more frustrating the experience, especially when I need to move quickly. Also, i don’t mind figuring stuff out on my own but there is little to no guidance on what to do or where to go next and, if you get stuck you’ll need to look for an iOS walkthrough for support. Lastly, it seems access to menu settings/options is only available at certain points in the game, like after completing a section, but not when you are working on obtaining an item. Maybe I’m missing something but it would be nice to have access to menu/settings/options at any point during game play to adjust sound, tweak controls, etc. Otherwise this is a fun and interesting experience that is enhanced by great visuals and intriguing premise. I installed the recent update and have no issues with graphics or gameplay on my iPhone 7+. I think the lack of guidance is intentional but would also appreciate a bit more in-game help or some next step hints as it sometimes feels like I’m not sure what I should be focusing on or what the current mission is.

Massive glitch. What I've been able to play of this game so far is pretty solid. Unfortunately that's not much because on my iPad Air every minute or two the screen will just go black. I can still move around and die, but nothing short of restarting the app makes the screen return to normal. It makes what I think is probably a great game pretty much completely unplayable. Hoping for a fix, but until then, 1*.

Game refuses to launch iP 6S+ 9.3.2. I bought this game having never heard of it until now. Hearing how great this game was & how much the console versions costed, I bought the iOS version w/out hesitation. However, the game crashes at the splash screen & have not been able to get past that yet. Deleted & reinstalled the latest 1.2 version but still the same problem. Edit: Within days of writing this, the developers have released 1.3 which has fixed my crash issue & now the game appears to work now. Have bumped up my rating due to that fix & the fact that the game runs well on my old 6S+. Thank you!

Perfect port of a terrific game. This is an extremely playable mobile version of the PC masterpiece. Developer very quickly resolved graphical glitches from iOS 11. I still very occasionally see objects flash primary colors but it’s not a distraction or something that happens regularly. The game looks and plays great on my old iPhone 6. Curious how the controls hold up in the later levels where puzzles require fast complicated movements. Play this game, it’s fantastic!

Great puzzles. Great game and was enjoying it until this last update. I liked having the hand button on the virtual game pad. Having to hold my device and move with the left thumb and view with the right, it was easier to have the jump and hand options down at the bottom right of the screen. Now having to click each object individually slows things down and makes it hard to accomplish timed puzzle objectives. Hope there is a way to change it back or at least have the option to toggle it for some users. Thanks for the great game and consideration on this feature.

Very good, couple of caveats. It's a very good game and has beautiful graphics (as is to be expected of a port of a pc game) but also will heat up your phone and has slightly clunky controls (as is to be expected of a port of a pc game). All in all, though, it's an absolute steal at $5. My only real criticisms for the game itself are that some of the 'puzzles' involving the robots feel less like puzzles and more like the reflex tests of an action game; and that it's not always clear when the game is saved (there's a saving indicator on the pc version — I guess that didn't make it into the mobile port?

Inferior controls ruin the experience. What should be a world-class game is brought down by amateurish controls. The hilarious thing is they try to brag about them in the description (it’s like listening to Trump) where he they are so delusional they try to pass off a flaw as a feature. When multiple gamers tell you your controls are terrible, you might want to listen. I don’t mind getting killed if I make a mistake or don’t get the puzzle, but when you have to tap a guard 3-5 times to get it to work, and get killed in the process, that’s just annoying.

Amazing puzzle game. The amount of effort put into this game is incredible. The game is very challenging and has so many secrets and extra content. You will literally spend hours and hours solving problems and progressing the storyline. The only complaint I have is in some of the puzzles you can “die” which resets everything you did in the puzzle. This can be very painful in some of the longer puzzles and make you want to stop playing. I think having check points in these puzzles would have immensely improved the experience. Still, for what it costs it’s the best value for money you’re going to get on the App Store

I don’t like the violence. Wonderful game concept in all regards except the guards. I came here for a mental challenge, not a physical reflexes challenge and certainly not to expend what little adrenaline I have left after a day at work. Is there a version without guards? Beautiful graphics and creative puzzles. I particularly like that it’s not explained, as I enjoy figuring things out and it makes the fun last longer. I’m quitting, though, after only finishing three or four of the rooms. It’s so lovely, that I hate to leave it undone. But facing the guards makes me feel nervous and angry….not my idea of a “game.”

The Best Game Ever. I used my new IPad for this game and had no movement issues. I used the over the left shoulder view (not first person) and found it quite easy to get around. I was able to control my speed easily and left side of the iPad used a joystick control for forward back and left right while right finger anywhere else was used for direction I was looking The puzzles were excellent, the story line was captivating and graphics for 3D were the best. I think the price is well below what was delivered. I thought all of the Room I, 2 & 3 series and Da Vinci game were the best but I have to Give Talos the nod.

Problems on iPad and No Support. This is a beautifully rendered game, and I mostly enjoyed playing it. There are several “puzzles” that are quite difficult to complete using the iPad touchscreen. With one exception, trying these puzzles over and over and over finally allowed me to find just the right sequence of touches to succeed. Unfortunately, there is one puzzle (“Whoosh”) that defies all of my attempts. Sadly, it is not possible to complete the game without completing this puzzle. I wrote to the developers twice to request technical assistance. Specifically, has the game been tested using a touchscreen? The developers did not respond to my request. The price for the game might not be high, but I did pay for it. Failure to respond to a customer inquiry is not acceptable, and this earns the game a poor review.

A puzzle game with depth. I gave this game a 5/5. Great graphics, sound, music, and gameplay. The only thing that had me at the beginning was the controls but once I went into the menu and found the right control setting for me the game is so much more smooth and fluid. With all that said it’s not that graphics, the puzzles, or sound that really grab my interest but the story. This philosophical aspect to it is amazing. I’m not finished with the game yet but definitely enjoying it!

AMAZING game for a great price!. I’m literally blown away but the sheer amount of content there is for this game, and that it’s available for anything under $30!! Most games like these I can finish in a day or two, but this one kept me (someone who is very ADHD) occupied through quarantine for like a week! There’s so many little easter eggs and hidden treats that make exploring every inch of the world absolutely worth it. On top of all that, I found the story remarkably relevant considering uh...the global pandemic, LOL. It was really nice to see the sheer love for humanity, even with all our past and current mistakes, in practically every inch of the story. So many stories that deal with the kind of situation this game presents would take the “humanity is inherently evil and destroying the world” path and I’ve heard enough of that ecofascist bull in the past weeks to last me a lifetime, so it was a treat to be able to open up this game and see a story that actually values life, individual lives, and just all the beautiful creativity of humanity. Thank you so much for helping making my quarantine a little less hellish!

Touch screen defeated me. Experience has taught me that shooters are no good on a touch screen but I've always enjoyed puzzle games on my iPad Air 2. This one defeated me though. I got as far as Woosh! In the B level and figured it out OK, but when it came time to execute two double taps to finish, the touch screen wouldn't react quickly enough for me. After many frustrating attempts, I gave up. Knowing that I won't be able to complete the game with out the sigal from this area, I deleted it from my pad. I found other areas frustrating in the same way, whenever there were complex actions required to evade black orbs, I had a difficult time getting the iPad to react quick enough. Perhaps younger, quicker fingers would enjoy this game more.

On iPad so far so good...Updated. Update - I was able to download on iPhone by going to my account and touching Purchased - there the app was with download arrow. So the “glitch” is when you go to the app page on another device to download after purchasing on first device it shows $4.99 - go to your account (touch the face icon on upper right and go to Purchased - there it is to download. Developer was quick to respond with suggestions on how to resolve which didn’t work so I figured it out on my own. Increased Star Rating to “4” - thanks. Initial Review After seeing Meet the Developers and App Store ad about the game I bought it on my iPad Pro - loads A-OK and enjoying the initial gameplay. When I went to download onto my iPhone the App Store indicates not a download arrow but another $4.99 to purchase for the iPhone on same Apple ID - Huh? Hope this is a glitch and not expecting us to pay for the app by device.

Spectacularly Addictive. Made me question what I means to be human. Exquisite graphics, wonderful soundtrack and gameplay. And the Easter bunny would be jealous of the dozens of Easter eggs and multiple endings. Philosophically like Tron, you play as the proverbial “program” on a quest to find himself. Question and enjoy everything. Take time to gain mastery of the player controls, as harder puzzles require more precision. Love this game and completely addicted to playing it. 2nd time through now, and it’s still fun

Controls are absolutely impossible!!!. I have played Talos Principle for years on Steam, I love it and know it extremely well. I can understand that a developer might have to slightly alter the controls for iPad play compatibility, but these controls are just completely over the top awful! The absolute worst attempt at iPad controls in a 3D POV environment.! No other game on the planet controls like this. If you tap to go across the length of the screen, it’s a continuous action that you just watch happen, and you will easily step out in front of enemies that you obviously can’t see a quarter mile away where you tapped. Two fingertips for “detailed control”, which is basically like pushing a skateboard with one of your two fingers while steering around stuff. It’s as impossible as it sounds. I thought $4.99 was a great deal! I might give it one more shot in a few hours, but I seriously doubt I’ll ever play it again...so $4.99 is pretty expensive for 15 minutes of (angry raging) gameplay. Just buy it...and youllllllseeeeee.... Dang them for destroying such a beautiful game...one that should be enjoyed on an excellent iPad display, too. I can’t believe they did this!

Fantastic game!!!. I played this game on my PC and loved it. It’s been a while since I’ve played, so when I saw it on the App Store I immediately bought it. It’s just as challenging as the first time I played! I’m a huge fan of puzzles and philosophy so this game is perfect to me. I do get a bit frustrated with the tap-to-move occasionally, like when trying to place a device to freeze a floating orb but I accidentally tap on the ground next to it and get blown up :) Otherwise fantastic! Side note: I hope Sigils of Elohim gets updated for iOS 11

Could we have graphical options?. Do you guys mind adding a higher poly count version of this game for iPad Pro or IPhone 8 and above users? I guess it doesn’t seem quite as obvious on the phones but on the iPad Pro, the poly count and textures looks so low res and washed out compared to the PC version. I’m not expecting it to be be on par with the pc but it seems like the graphics were designed with the 5s or 6 in mind. Would love to see a A title game looks it’s best on iOS

This is why I search the App Store.... If you’ve been playing video games since before they held your hand every step of the way (skill, logic, and perseverance were qualities you needed to justify not having the option of saving your game), this game is actually quite forgiving!! The whole point is that you have to figure it out as you go. If that’s too much to handle, don’t get this game. If you appreciate a good challenge, a rewarding experience when you solve a puzzle, AND the mercy of save points as you progress, you need to try this game. This game has mystery, problems to solve (which is the driving force behind human nature), and the voice in the sky gives you feedback as you explore, which is really cool. I recommend this game for anyone who is looking for a good problem to solve; and that’s just about all of us. If your search found this game, it’s time to download it and play it.

Bad controls. This is one of the best looking I have seen in awhile. It was featured in the App Store as a great game. However the controls are awful. The things that you have to preform in order to get to puzzle pieces is tedious and frustrating. I have played similar games with the same touch controls such as Shardlands even those on a much smaller landscape. I get that. But with such an open works feel these type of controls just do not work. It is also the preferred method by this developer to play the game. The touch controls just do not fit this game. I doubt the developer will correct this in the near future since their responses so far have been very unhelpful to the players. I would not recommend this game to anyone. I don’t mind paying for a game and the puzzles in this game a pretty straight forward but again the controls are why to difficult to complete some of them. Sorry but even Monument Valley is better.

Fantastic game, but sometimes crashes. Overall, I’m maybe about half-way through the game and it is breathtaking. Graphics are incredible and the puzzles are very challenging, not to mention the story is thought provoking and intriguing. However, I am playing this on an IPhone 6s and find that the game occasionally crashes. It helps when I use low battery mode and airplane mode but I don’t know if this is a compatibility problem or a problem with my phone. Luckily, the game is fun enough where the crashes aren’t a deal breaker.

Great game, but not on IPad. As others have said, the biggest problem with this game is the frustration with IPad controls. It’s easily a 5-star game on a console — the closest I’ve seen to Portal (Talos’ obvious inspiration), which is a big compliment. But on a touchscreen it’s impossible to control movements and speed with precision. Talos also drained the battery like no other app I’ve used. (That might be unavoidable, given the resources it takes to run game.) It would have helped if there was a save function so that progress on a puzzle wasn’t lost every time I was blown up by a roving mine. That would have also come in handy when the game needed to be put aside in the middle of a puzzle. More than a short break and you find yourself back at the start of the current puzzle. I finished the game angry, with no desire for a replay. If you decide to buy Talos for IPad, either invest in a controller or be prepared for the frustration.

Controls are better. I would like it if the game pad method adopted the split screen analogue setup without the overlay for the left stick as an option: The screen is divided in half; the whole left side is the left stick and the whole right side is the right stick. There are no graphical representations for the stick itself. It’s pretty much muscle memory at this point that when emulating a virtual analogue stick, once your thumb hits the screen, that’s where the origin/pivot point is. It would remove a lot of clutter. Also, please let us 3D Touch and move the jump and grab buttons on our own. This new setup is better regarding the buttons and overall feel, but devs please, checkout the Deadspace iOS game for an example of what I mean for optimal FPS touch screen controls. Edit: holy crap!!! You’re new method as far as grabbing and using things is spoiling puzzles!! The “Touch icon” method for beams and boxes is not bad but it’s showing secrets in the distance too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok game but confusing and not worth the cost.. Game is well designed and looks fantastic but the game itself is confusing. I purchased this bc of how well it’s designed and the App Store’s “rave” pre-release review. I’ve played several times since then and it doesn’t get much better. Not surprisingly, I’m thinking the App Store’s critics were paid a bit more for saying this game was amazing. I’ve played multiple times, progressed through several levels, and it never gets any better or becomes appealing to play. All this game has to offer is its look. When you start out the game with almost no instruction on gameplay and all you know that you’re a robot who doesn’t know anything, it doesn’t draw you in or get you hooked up front. Don’t waste your time or money unless they drop the price to $0.99.

HELP!. Very excited to play this, I’m a huge sci-fi fan, and have had an interest in this game for some time, but being a dad I don’t have time to sit in front of a television like I used to. Thanks so much for bringing this to mobile and at such a reasonable price. But....if the developer could give me some help, I’ve tried to download this app after purchasing it maybe 8 or 9 times. I have plenty of space for it. I believe I have about 4GB cleared for it, as it was my first concern on why it wasn’t working I cleared as much as I could, but it’s giving me an error of “this app cannot be downloaded at this time”. Is that a problem on the development end, or on apples end? I thought maybe a game as popular would maybe somehow be getting hit hard with downloads and possibly be causing some problems. But that’s just me making up things as I don’t have any idea how the internet works and I just want buttons to do things. Thanks for any help. Dad

Great.... I have Talos on the PC, but never got around to finishing it. This is the full experience on the iPad and it’s great! Edit: not sure what the other reviewer is taking about- after the last update it looks better and runs better on my 9.7.

It wood not let me download it😞. It doesn't work on iPad air2 help me☹️ Please

Love it. Driving, determining puzzle game.brilliant

Excellence. A great game that will give you hours of enjoyment. The puzzles are challenging without being frustrating, I did need a walkthrough for some of them though! The controls are for the most part fine, sometimes a little too sensitive but it didn’t detract from playing. The story, while it can be ignored, was kind of intriguing and pushed you to explore further. Excellent graphics. Well worth the price.

The controls. The controls are really weird maybe next update you could fix it like have a move button.

iCloud support. Excellent port, but a couple of improvements: - Add iCloud support so we can continue progress when reinstalling or switching between different devices. - Rework the virtual joystick UI to make it less clunky. Make it smaller so that it doesn’t block a whole lot of the screen, or give us an invisible joystick option. - Add the missing DLCs as IAPs.

Will not download on IPad Air. After multiple attempts at downloading, I have given up. Plenty of space, latest iOS,connections good, half an hour later it’s past the 50% mark and just stops? Frustrating +++. I did eventually manage to download onto my IPhone 6s but I really wanted to play it on my IPad. Pretty disappointing.*****UPDATED REVIEW******** After clearing a few more apps I finally got it to install with 4.2G of room. Very pretty game, taking a bit of getting used to controls but really enjoying it.

Meh controls make it too much work. These controls may work on a console or keyboard, but I can’t see new players flocking to this game

Boring and repetitive. I bought this having been through the four Room games and hoped for something similar. Don't get it if you are the same. I personally found it really boring and gave up on it very early. Just didn't like the premis of trying to avoid robots that kill you by figuring out how to sneak past them. That's about it for this game.

A request. I love this game :) I play it on iOS and on Stream. Different ways of playing it due to virtual joystick on iOS- it’s more difficult on some levels but it’s still good :) Any chance of including Road To Ghenna on iOS please? Pretty please? Pretty pretty please? With sugar on top? Also any chance of Talos 2? Yes I know you love Serious Sam but I really don’t but I REALLY REALLY love TTP.

Amazing puzzle game. It takes a small while to understand and get into but once overcome, the controls and challenging nature of the puzzles is amazing. Whilst the “piece” puzzles are reasonably logical and can be worked through, I challenge you to decipher and find the much more complex “star” puzzles and that is assuming you even realise that there is a star to be found... There are some that are so deviously hidden that I do not know how they were ever deciphered (I must admit to using a cheat for the diabolical one on level A) 20 hours of play does not do this game justice. The multitude of levels and number of puzzles is extraordinary for the cost of the game. If anyone can work through this whole game and solve all puzzles in 200 hours then they are a genius

Such a pity. Beautiful graphics, great movement in the game. But really boring and lacks a story. Although the scenery is beautifully done the repeating action to solve the same puzzle over and over let’s this game down. Not worth the price tag!

More like this. As thought provoking as it is beautiful even the sound track is brilliant. One of the best strategic puzzles ever.

Cool puzzles but heavy on battery. The game and puzzles are interesting and challenging so far and the backstory is intriguing. Battery drain is an issue.

Amazing. Talos is an amazing game. Simple in concept, open gates using lasers. Logic and patience is the only way to get through this game. Something so simple, yet puzzling enough to keep you thinking. Beautifully designed, controls are easy. Hours of game play, definitely worth the download.

Needs better restore point management. Great game. Very frustrating though, to be half way through a puzzle, only to be restored to the beginning when you make a mistake. Would really benefit by the user being able to manually set restore points as they progress.

Suggestion. This is just a suggestion but in the future could you add a control stick type of input. I feel like that would be easier and faster to use. Thanks

Thumbs up with reservations. Great game however I cannot play it for more than 5 min. due to iPad running hot. Running iOS 11.0.2 not sure if it’s the game or the iOS upgrade.

This is supposed to be a console game.. The title of this review has two meanings. The first is that there is so much gameplay here that playing The Talos Principle on a smart device for a middling cost really doesn’t do it justice. I sought out all the computer terminals and time capsules so I could enjoy the whole story, which gets you thinking about deep questions almost as much as the puzzles rack your brains as you figure out how to solve them. There are a load of easter eggs which are often hard to find, including (spoiler alert!) the little cat on the loading screen. And yes, I had to look up the solutions online to find all the stars. The second meaning of the review title is that this game feels out of place on a smart device, especially the controls. Turning on the spot is either too slow or dizzying (or both at once), and the virtual gamepad can be awkward to use. But that’s the price of saving money by buying a mobile port rather than the proper version on console or PC. My only complaint about the gameplay itself is that the last puzzle is time-limited, which - drove - me - mad -- so I looked up a walkthrough for that too. Despite having to cheat a bit to finish the game, it was still very worthwhile.

iPad Pro 10.5. So cool

Brilliant. It’s been a very long time since I have enjoyed such a great ‘adventure’ type game. Great problem solving game play. Puzzles within puzzles. Beautiful graphics. Think outside the box (sometimes inside the box). Highly recommend. Best game I have played in decades.

Intriguing. Lovely game, good puzzles. Would have given five stars but the game pad and touch/swipe methods of movement are horrible and have led to my character being killed repeatedly.

Partial Review. [01-01-2019] This is basically the only time I’ve played a game like this, especially one with a mix of strategies and puzzles. The graphics are quite good. The movement, navigation and moving/getting around isn’t too hard neither. So far, so good! I’ve given half of a review, because I am still trying to experience everything it has. I’ve only played for about an hour (or so), and am getting the first pieces of the door/lock puzzle. Because it is a game of concentration and focus, I feel that I have to put 100% of my time into the game (when playing) - so I don’t miss anything. I’m the sort of person who checks each corner, fence or bush, in case I’ve missed something important, before continuing on. Hence the reason why I’m still at the start, and because I’ve been busy - at the time, my hands are free to move around but my eyes aren’t, so I’ll play when I’m not busy or too tired.

Enjoying the challenge. Find I get a bit stuck and need to look for a good walkthrough for iPad, but tests my patience that I don’t get tied to it for too long and then I psych up to try again and have a good look around. The important thing with this game is to have a good look around.

Love this game. Fantastic. Great puzzles. Very thoughtful background and philosophy.

Awkward controls, pixelated graphics. Expected a bit more for the $8

Amazing Puzzler. Well worth the purchase price (under $10AUD when I bought it). Hours and hours of play (don’t worry about overcommitting though, it is broken up into 5-15minute puzzles, perfect for a phone game), you never get bored as they combine multiple game mechanics in a ton of different ways. This game has beautiful locations, amazing music, and a really well thought out story (which is so awesome I want to spoil it here but won’t!). The attention to detail on level design means the whole play through feels really organic (objects and clues to the solution aren’t just given up because they feel out of place). This game has tons available for completionists as well, the secret/hidden things don’t feel like a cop out that only geniuses can solve, the game always leaves a decent hint around if you’re paying attention (except for that ‘clock’ one in world ?A3?, the clue probably needs a bit of fine tuning devs). This is the best puzzler I’ve ever played (or equal best with portal), even better than the room series (as amazing as they are).

Couldn’t get the hang of the controls.. I spent most of my time bouncing of obstacles and trying to orientate the character to walk in a line not be looking at either the sky or the ground and stop where I wanted it to stop. I also found the puzzles were nearly identical up until level 10 when I gave up and deleted the app. It might be better on PC.

The Talos principle. Se jeux étais tros géniale mais il y a pas mal de chose dur pour les autres mais se jeux et tros bien je ne l’oublierais pas. : Armand 😄

Fantastic.. Great concept, great backstory, and great graphics. For the 'thinking gamer', but also fun. Just get it. 5/5

So disappointed. What a great, challenging game. Until you get to certain levels, that no matter how fast I try to move using the iPad, it’s just never quick enough, extremely frustrating!!! Have deleted the game because of it, as I know I won’t be able to move forward without getting through those levels 😠

Menu not visible on ipad. The top left hand side game menu bar (which I assume has app settings and other critical game information) is not visible or accessible on my iPad. The aspect ratio of the game does not suit modern iPads. If not fixed by the developer, would not recommend this game for owners of modern iPads.

The controls are beyond frustrating. I really want to give this game 5 stars as the puzzles are interesting and the graphics are great but the controls are so poor that there are several puzzles I know how to solve but have take ages to finish. And if you leave for a break the whole room resets and you have to start from the beginning. Seems like a game that would be better on a pc with a joystick.

The game cannot be completed on iPad. I challenge the developers to retrieve the stars in level C5. The iPad controls simply do not work properly. I watched multiple tutorials and the instructions cannot be followed because iPad lacks many of the PC controls. Moving and jumping is extremely clumsy. I am 99% finished but unable to complete the game with these ridiculous controls. My Bluetooth K830 keyboard isn’t even recognised by the game as a workaround. Disastrous.

Visually stunning and intellectually challenging. I’ve been watching this game on Steam for sometime and considering purchasing. As it released to iOS this week at a very reasonable price, I dove in. Graphics and sound are delightfully immersive. Some visual elements are recycled frequently, but overall the game looks great. The puzzles seem to well set as difficulty goes. Challenging without being interminably frustrating. The story, revealed in pieces through computer terminals scattered through the levels, is intriguing and keeps me wanting more. The touch controls tend to be a bit sensitive, but I suspect with some tweaking, that could be cured. My only real gripe is that there is no way to enter the QR codes from the ‘Sigils of Elohim’ companion game. These seem to be for the Steam version only. A bit silly as both games game are now playable on iOS. That needs to be rectified.

Heth. Such a magnificent game, the graphics are lifelike, you feel like you’re there, even the weather conditions change. From the deserts of Egypt to the snow in the high mountains. You’re brain is challenged on so many levels, from trying not to get killed by the patrolling mines, to the strategies of working out the laser connectors. As well as thinking laterally in the hunt for the stars, you also need to learn and master the tools you earn to solve each gate of each level. The only massive dissatisfaction I have, is that Talos Principle two still does not exist, and that Road to Gehenna is not available for IPad. Come on, get this happening, please ...

Good transition. I’m so glad I can play this game on iPhone and I hope we see the DLCs gets released on App Store as well. As for the game itself, like witness, controls actually work amazingly. however, partially a sense of free exploration fades away with the existence of auto pathing through tapping. It’s not a big deal but it takes away something. Although you can freely switch to virtual gamepad or use your own game controller and experience the game just like the pc version. Gameplay is as fantastic as you expect from this game. Puzzles start very simple and they extend to unimaginable challenges through a 20 hourish journey. Visual are actually amazing, draw distances are not as good as other versions but it’s a pleasure to see textures are high quality and crisp. Although it’s very odd to see the game runs on a variable FPS, for many parts seems above 30fps and for many parts seems just 30fps. I rather they locked it cuz it gets annoying sometimes. Overall recommended if you love playing puzzle games on iOS like me !

An excellent game!. Excellent game, but since I installed the new ipados and these windows that open to the right and left at each rapid movements of the fingers, some of the fun has flown. An update would be welcome to avoid this situation. That said, I repeat, it's a great game!

Really fun game. This an a very entertaining game. Lots of puzzles. The virtual game have been improved with this update which made made easier to control in tight spaces.

Broken. Games either crashes, or freezes on black screen.

Meh.. Controls are irritating, puzzles boring. Seriously regret paying for this.

Just a boring game. This isn’t a puzzle solving game like The Da Vinci Code or others. It is kind of a first person shooter with a very slow pace and weak puzzles which consists of shoot this first and that second then move here... Save your money if you are looking for a puzzle solver with beautiful graphics. This is just bad.

Dev doesn’t like my reviews?. All I have to say is good things about this game but my reviews are being removed. Talk about censorship.

Crashes!. Fun game so far and would have given 5 stars but it keeps crashing. Please fix!

Talos. Pom. Super de juteux mais patience

Love it!. Couldn’t stop playing. Loved the whole experience. Bring on Talos 2!

Sucks. Worst game ever it should be free why would anyone spend any money on this game

Nul. Nul sans intérêt aucun plaisir a jouer☹️☹️☹️

Have to pay twice?. I have purchase the game on iPad and cant install it on my iPhone, gotta pay again to install!?!? And doesn't seem to sync your progression between iPad and iPhone...

Not a tablet game. It’s probably way easier to play with a mouse. So difficult with touchscreen I’m giving up before the first section is complete. A waste of $7

Awesome. Awesome game!

iPad control suggestion. I think this app is fantastic! However, control using just an iPad is limited making run/ speed choppy... especially with the only option being jump besides picking up objects. It’d be great if the jump option actually allowed for further distance or higher jumps... much like keyboard control in Steam. I’ve tried the virtual keyboard and the joystick messes up the 3-D aspect the game offers.

Great port. Played this on PC years ago so good port, just a couple levels that are frustrating cause of the touch interface. Has a large amount of puzzles especially if you do all the stars and star levels. Great fun!

3D puzzle genre similar to Valve's Portal. Reminded me of the time I played Portal! Although there is no cake-is-a-lie or portal guns, there are delightful puzzles (of a different kind) in a simple game that is more open world, not too hard, not too easy. Runs stable on my iPad Mini 4 (iOS 10). Very graphically rich, with nearly-Crysis quality graphics . Tap-to-move was easier (Epic Citadel style approach) for me than the joystick option. Menu is accessed via swipe from left edge (took me a moment to figure out). Five stars for porting to iPad!

Great game. I liked everything about the game except how you move

Great Game!. This game is fantastic, A+++! Tons of very challenging puzzles, very interesting premise. (YouTube solutions are there if you get really stuck!). This game is big , 2GB so probably would play best on newer tablet hardware, older hardware may not be very good. Although other reviews were negative I had no issues at all with the game, never crashed, I suspect problems other users had may be due to older hardware or corrupted OS on device. I hope the developers come out with another game like this, I would definitely purchase!

Challenging Enjoyable Puzzles. The graphics are nice, the user interface is standard & effective, and the puzzles are definitely challenging; I did have to cheat a couple of times, but for the most part, they are well done and fun. I think it was worth the $6.99 that I paid. I certainly got many hours of enjoyment out of the game.

Good game. Really nice to this on my ipad

Battery!. It’s big and beautiful but it’s brutal on battery life. An AppleTV version would be a helpful countermeasure.

Great game crashes. Never spent money on games before. Thought I’d try this one. Like it, real mind bender but in the 4 days, I’ve had it it started to crash. Not pleasant hoping these updates work

Amazing Port. I just learned yesterday that my favourite game of all time received a mobile port. While this isn’t the best way to play this game (the Gold Edition with all dlc goes on sale for cheaper on Good Old Games very often), it is still a great way to experience the game. The puzzles in particular are very fun to go through, whenever I have a second I can pick up the game and attempt a puzzle or two. For fans of The Talos Principle this is a great way to experience the game in your free time. For newcomers I would stick to other ways of experiencing the game if you can, but this is still a great way if that isn’t possible.

Great Game. Would love to see more graphics customization options. Something like a 30FPS with higher graphics mode, or just outright full control like the other versions. Otherwise, fantastic.

So happy I found this game!. Loving the game so far.

Bravo. Excellent jeu

Bravo!. D’abord... trop difficile à manœuvrer... j’avais envi de laisser tomber... À la longue, plus facile à jouer et les casse têtes deviennent plus négociables! Reste à découvrir les foutus étoiles...

Great game. This is a fun creative puzzle game, was first introduced to it in the PlayStation 4 but never played too much of it. To be honest I think I’d be happier with a port of serious sam the first encounter

Give It Time. This game can be a bit ‘meh’ when you start playing it. As you get more involved and actually figure out how to use the landscape and outsmart the challenges, it gets cooler and you look forward to picking it up again at the end of the night.

Intense. Philosophical, beautiful and extremely challenging. An excellent way to engage one’s mind in an entirely different world when you need a break from this one.

Amazing Game. This is an amazing challenging strategic planning puzzle game. It really has you thinking ahead before you make your next move as like in chess. The graphics are phenomenal. This is not a game you will finish in a day. I like that if you get stuck on one puzzler you can still move on and go through the many other doors and go back and solve the ones you were stuck on. This game is worth every penny I paid. The developers put in a lot of time and planning on this one.

The Talos Principle. DON’T change anything! I just hope your going to add more area’s to venture into. Since I found and started playing this game I can’t stop. Good thing I’m retired,🤪. You’ve hit this one out of the park. Every and anyone that will listen I tell them to "BUY" this game, it’s worth every penny!

I love this game. J’adore...Enfin un jeu intéressant, les décors sont magnifique et la musique wawww...aussi en français très bien traduit...Bravo 💕💕💕 I want to know if « Road to Gehenna » will be issued for Ipad or not ?

Good game but no optimization for the new iPad Pro 11”. Please update the app to full screen support for the new device Also include iCloud sync to share save data through multiple devices

Great game. Problem with the controls. Great game. Love it. But this last update changed the game pad controls for the worse. I wish they would have left the old game pad (with the hand button and leaving all the left hand side as movement) as an extra option (“game pad 2” for example). I hope they add it back in as a third option sometime soon. Not a fan of the current two choices. Other than that, wonderful game. A must buy for all puzzle fans. I prefer it over the Witness.

Inverted control option is killer app. Thank thank thank you for providing inverted controls. My head would hurt playing without it. I didn’t know I could invert. I was thinking about a 1 star review because game was unplayable for me. I found the option to invert and can now enjoy this game. I want to thank you so much.

Amazing. The levels all feel like a unique and fun challenge. The art is amazing, the story is solid, there’s tons of gameplay, and it’s only 5 dollars, despite being easily worth more. My only problem is that it really eats up the battery. It can completely drain a full battery in 10-20 minutes, so I have to keep it plugged in. But other than that, this game is brilliant. Definitely worth picking up

Interesting premise, challenging puzzles. This is an engrossing game. The storyline and premise are interesting, and there’s plenty of reading as the game goes along. Many of the puzzles are quite challenging, but very satisfying once you solve them. Be sure to thoroughly look around; there’s tons of things hiding out of plain sight! Two things: 1. I wish there was a “zip mode”, like in Myst. It’s a bit tiring to get from place to place, especially as you complete more of the game. 2. In Italian, some of the subtitles don’t match up with the audio. That’s a bit frustrating.

Best Game Hint (Use a Controller). Played this game on PS4 a few years back, and when I saw it on iPad, I had to get it. I use an iPad Pro, so the graphics are stellar. I also use a dual shock PS4 controller, and boy, I’ll tell you: the control is 100% as good as on a console. It’s very very easy to see that iOS games will be a big future for Apple. My advice is to buy a controller and take gaming on iPad to the next level. I cannot wait until they take gaming to the very next level, and start competing with xbox and ps5 and such. We are really lucky with what’s coming

A little bit Myst, a little bit Portal. A very enjoyable game! Well paced and designed. I concur with other reviewers that the default control scheme doesn’t work much beyond the first few levels. Virtual joystick works well, except for a maddening bug where the view will suddenly snap to staring at the sky or the ground and turn you around 180°. If the developer fixes that, this will be a five-star game.

An Amazing World of Its Own. I was able to immerse myself in this world and successfully work my way through all of the mind-bending challenges using my iPad Pro. 5 stars, and I wish there were more like this Talos Principle around. In a class of its own.

Engaging. The reason this game has maintained my attention for as long as it has is because it is unique. I enjoy the freedom and openness of the worlds. While some may find the puzzles monotonous, I enjoy the ability to manipulate the environment in various ways to solve them.

Excellent puzzles. However, the interface is a major pain. I read that the developer says that’s part of the experience but I just find it needlessly frustrating. Sometimes you have to move quickly and if you don’t double tap in exactly the same spot you move normally and then die.

Excellent gameplay, Pretty good port. Played this on PC. It's an excellent game and I hope they make another. As a port it is well worth the $5.00. I play on an iPhone 8 which runs on the same chip as the regular iPhone x. Frames seem to be below 30 which is probably my only complaint but not sure on the capabilities to reach that fps on a mobile device. Thanks for the hard work guys I hope the game sells well!

Fun until it is stupidly hard. Fourth and final review. The developers should have thought more carefully before including timing puzzles in the game. While it might be prefectly satisfactory for the PC, the extremely poor movement on a mobile device means that you will soon run into a puzzle they cannot be beaten. YOU FAILED TO CONSIDER HOW THE TIMING PUZZLES WOULD WORK ON MOBILE. One star. Because you hooked me with a great story line and unique and challenging puzzle approach, wasted my time, and then delivered the most frustrating game experience of my life.

More about having fast reflexes and less about the puzzles. I bought this game because I had heard good things about the puzzles in this game. However after trying it out, I found the puzzles pretty straight forward, but the challenge is trying to not get killed and even if you make it 95% through the puzzle, 1 wrong move and you have to start completely over. Overall I’m very dissatisfied with this game.

Excellent puzzle game. I love the mood and atmosphere. The developers did a good job with the controls for a touch screen game. The game progresses with tougher puzzles and there’s a satisfying feeling of accomplishment when you solve them. Definitely a must buy. Also the developer was very quick to address initial launch bugs and seems committed to the success of the app. Keep up the great work!

Major graphics downgrade on iPod Touch 6. I have played many good looking games on my iPod Touch 6th generation such as Radiation Island and TurboDismount. But this game looks terrible the graphics are comparable to the first Ravensword game by Crescent Moon. And the graphics in that game are terrible. Even the old Dead Space mobile game which ran on my iPod Touch 4th generation has better graphics than this. Everything else is good but the graphics are just not up to par with most games I’ve played. I don’t want to sound rude but I know my iPod is capable of more than this.

On a pad/Iphone - fine controls - poor. First of all - this game is incredible. I cannot rave more about it. Sadly - on the subtle, more complicated, fine tuning type puzzles, the two “controllers” given to you are poor. It takes between 5-7 times the amount of time to complete a puzzle (whoosh, nerve destroyer(?) puzzles as an example). Please consider this next game. This game is obviously made for a mouse to be as successful as possible. Again - vast majority of game is a 5 ⭐️ EDIT: Please do yourself a favor - No pad No iphone It is a frustrating game ... in a good way. If you add the crappy controls to it - it makes it MADDENING!!!!!!

Thoughtful, clever, thoroughly enjoyable!. I would say that this is a thinking person’s game: creatively designed, always some new twist. I finished the whole thing, and it was manageable, since each puzzle could be completed in a relatively reasonable time frame. A real pleasure!

This is great but.... This game is a great game in general. Puzzles and adventure are mixed into one game. However, there are some levels that do not work. Beating these levels is sometimes imperative to keeping the story going. I am stuck on the level “You Know You Mustn’t Cross The Streams,” because every time I pick up the box, my game freezes and crashes. I need to get the puzzle piece from this level, and yet it’s impossible to obtain it. PLEASE FIX THIS, as I would love to play more.

Fantastic game. I played this through recently as was quite impressed. Some puzzles did require that I ditch the default tap and swipe controls, and I eventually just kept using the virtual game pad. I noticed there was an expansion for other platforms and hope that gets ported to IOS, too. This game is definitely worth purchasing!

Won’t download. Don’t waste your money.. I have tried to download this game at least a dozen times over the last three days. - the App Store says it is compatible with my phone. - I am downloading over a strong wifi connection. - I have disabled auto lock and leave it on the App Store screen while trying to download it. - I have 2x+ the 1.9 gig required for the game. (This should be PLENTY of space for the install.) - I am not using any other apps while downloading (to my knowledge). - I have iOS 11. - I have seen that there was an update in the last 24 hours, but I tried to download before the update, and have tried several times since the update. - it gets to about 60% complete and fails. - I have tried turning my phone off and back on again, turning WiFi off and on, and doing both of those things back-to-back. Nothing works. I’d love to play, but I can’t. Save your money and wait until the devs clear this up.

Rolbro. Only played this game for 10 minuets or so you guys really nailed this game I gave a 5 star rating because this game deserves it I would give this 10 stars if that were an option 1 graphics and gameplay both are over the top 2 controls great

Suggestion for controls. I love this game. I’ve bought and completed it on ps4 and it’s great to have a portable copy. That being said the controls are awkward. I like the “tap to pickup” mechanic of the default controls, but need the precision of the virtual sticks. It would be great if we could combine the two. (Minecraft implements this type of controls scheme beautifully.)

Highly recommend!. A-mazing. Just excellent! Put on some head phones, turn out the lights, and enjoy being immersed in this world. The graphics are pretty good. The play is great. Very well done game for the person who likes puzzle, escape adventure type of 3D adventure games, a bit of suspense. I definitely recommend this.

Simply the best. This is the best adventure or puzzle game on the entire platform. There’s no contest. CroTeam smashed it out of the park when they made this game and bringing it to iOS is magic. I strongly recommend playing with a MFI controller. Hooked up to a TV, this game is gorgeous. My son loves playing it too and seeing the gears turn in his head as he tries to solve these puzzles is a cherished memory I’ll always have. Thanks CroTeam from a huge fan, and a father to another fan.

Doesn't work well.. I have this game on the PS4 and it's easily my favorite puzzle game of all time and my favorite PS4 game to date. But this version runs terribly, it stutters and the touch input does not work. I try and use the camera but the game keeps panning the camera after I've stopping touching the screen. The game runs choppy to, I'm on a 6S+ so I'm confused why this doesn't run well, I would understand if I was on a 5S with an older CPU but this isn't the case. I hope this is just a minor issue that can be fixed. Does this game depend IOS 11?

Bummer!. Bought this yesterday and had a smash time playing for the first few hours. Then in about the 8th or 9th mission the screen goes black and I have to close and restart. Anybody who has played some of these tricky levels knows how annoying that is. My phone is new and my iOS is updated. Really hoping they identify the bug and get it fixed or I just spent $5 for a broken game. Bummer!

Fun interesting game but very annoying at times. Good premise, nice story, graphics, lots of content, interesting puzzles, hidden surprises and Easter eggs. Solid community and tip sheets. Fun! Unfortunately, too many puzzles are just repetitive and get extremely tiresome. Additionally, tap and swipe controls on the iPad are difficult for quick stops, turns, backing up, rapid precision movements which makes some levels/puzzles miserable and sad.

Doesn't take advantage of most powerful iOS hardware to say the least.. My 2018 iPad Pro is cool to the touch on the back near the A12X chip. The drawing distance is so short, and the resdution is so low. If this game used the full processing power of my device, or even just a larger fraction of it, it could be radically better. Playing this game is making me long for PS2 quality graphics. "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" looks photorealistic compared to this. Have you heard of The Witness? Even that game doesn't push my iPad Pro very hand, yet it's gorgeous and high resolution.

So Beautiful ... and So Tedious. The graphics and 3D feel are extraordinary. The smooth motion and fine detail immerse you in a world that’s lovingly crafted for exploration and examination. Myst, updated to 21st century standards! The gameplay is, sadly, yawningly repetitive. Some of the floating mine puzzles take far too many repetitions to get through, long after you have figured out what the solution is. The restart point is always the beginning of the puzzle which is a big negative. A manual save point would be a major improvement in gameplay. Not having one means spending large chunks of screen time just plodding around.... I deleted it from my device before working through to the end. If I hadn’t paid for it I suppose I might have done so much sooner. 5 stars for the graphics, 1 star for boring and uninspired gameplay.

Can’t put it down!. This game is unbelievable! The graphics are so amazing and realistic. The story line is imaginative. Money very well spent. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Don’t start playing if you don’t have a week to play because you won’t be able to put it down. Extremely addictive!

Breathtaking. This game has all the qualities of a console game. I would compare it to Portal, but it has much more charm. From the music to the graphics, the Talos Principle is one of a kind. It exemplifies many of the qualities that make for a wonderful gaming experience, and other developers should take note.

Remnant of a better age. If I'm not mistaken, this was released around when mobile games went kinda down hill. And it's one of the best games on my phone. Kinda has some weird freaky deaky storyline about god and the nature of man or something, but it clearly had a lot of time and effort out into it, which isn't something you see a whole lot of these days.

Excellent!. This is what became of the island in The Witness. Similar games, to some extent. I wonder if Tetris gets royalty fees?? Anyway, the game is fun, no black screen or control issues at all. I am running iOS 11.0.3 on an iPad Pro 9.7 with no issues at all. Devs thanks for the game. It is beautiful and challenging. Well done!

Beautiful and fun. Wow! They did a great job of translating this game to iOS. It feels just like playing it on my console. The controls felt a bit wonky until I selected the invert option and that made it much easier (now when I swipe left I look left and when I swipe up I look up, etc.). The graphics are beautiful and the game plays very smoothly on my iPad pro 12.9.

Beautiful. The Talos Principle will always be one of my favorite games. Yes, the graphics are gorgeous, but the story is even better. There are also a lot of philosophical questions that you are asked, which really make you think. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 100%

Holy horrible controls!. The controls make this game fairly maddening for me. The touch controls are a mess. Especially when the objective in time critical. The d-pad control scheme doesn’t work so well. I would only recommend downloading this version of the game if you have a controller that is compatible with you iPhone or iPad. Otherwise the game and its premise are incredible.

A lot overlayed on puzzles. The puzzles are pretty cool and the scenery is nice, but I can’t help but feel like I’d enjoy the puzzles more if I didn’t have to fight controls and getting turned around. It’s a fun game, but I’d personally prefer my beautiful scenery movie kept separate from my puzzle app. A top-down or isomeric version of this would be fine with me. And the “god” plot and computer terminals could still be used assuming they are building up to something more and play a greater role as things progress. A lot of work went into this and I don’t regret my purchase, just not loving all the unnecessary work required to solve the puzzles. Maybe time to invest in a Bluetooth controller.

Some levels unplayable on iOS. Really like this game, and am about 3/4 of the way through when I found out there are some levels that are unsolvable on iOS. Love the puzzle challenges, but some levels are just plain “how precisely can you run the controls” - no intellectual challenge at all. And unfortunately these levels are impossible on iOS due to the touchscreen controls. If I find out I can’t complete this game on iOS due to these levels, I’ll come back and change my review down to one star.

Buy it on PC or PS4.. The controls are frustrating on iPhone. I played through it on PC and loved it, but after trying for a few hours I’m still not used to the controls that are limited and cumbersome on the touch screen format. They did as good of a job as they could converting the controls but it’s a game made to be played on PC or with a physical controller.

Finally!. This has been a game that I have been wanting to play since it came out, but because my pc wasn't powerful enough I just couldn't do it. I have to congratulate you for even taking on this task and I hope for many great apps in the future.

Disappointed. Sorry y’all - I see the great reviews, and that’s why I downloaded it. I had done a Google search (yeah, first mistake) for “iOS games like The Room,” and this one came up (amongst all the ones I’ve already played). I was SUPER BORED by this game. No, I didn’t finish it, because I got fed up waiting for it to become…better. Now I’m mad that I actually spent dough on it. If you’re looking for “iOS games like The Room,” this is NOT it. But maybe you’ll have a different opinion. I can only give you mine. Blessings!

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE AN IPHONE MINI. This game does not account for the screen size of the iPhone 12 mini or 13 mini. The menu and other controls on the left-hand side are cut off and non-interactive. As far as I can tell, there is no setting to correct this. I know this game came out before these phones, but it’s also been over a year since these phones came out, at the time I’m writing this. Very frustrating that they care enough about this game to run a $0.99 sale but not enough to make sure it runs properly on current devices.

Simply Amazing. From the beautiful landscapes, thought provoking puzzles, and beautifully written story, The Talos Principle is by far one of the most amazing games I have ever played and probably ever will. I thoroughly enjoyed every second, and could hardly bring myself to stop until I had 100% the game and the DLC. If you’re on the fence about getting this game I highly recommend it.

Crashes on iPad. Every time I’ve played it, the screen goes black after a few minutes. Want my money back! Just as the developer said, the bug appears to have been fixed in the latest update. Excellent game! If you like Portal, you’ll love this. Best game I’ve tried on iPad.

Please give us better textures. I played this game on PS4 and the game is great. My problem is mostly with the iOS version. I think there should be an option for better textures on iPad Pro, because though it isn’t a problem on my iPhone 7, it is on my 10.5” iPad Pro. The floor is too blurry, and I’m sure the new iPad Pro is pretty capable of better textures considering those 4gb of ram.

Excellent. This is in the top 5 of the best mobile games I have ever played. Played almost every night before bed for over 2 months. Awesome graphics, story and sound. Takes a fair amount of thought, but not overwhelming. Use the joystick style controls.

Love the game, but.... The graphics are beautiful, I personally own an Iphone 5, and its nice to see some beautiful graphics and well developed game on such a small device, but for some reason, it is not allowing me to download it on my IPad mini. Is this an error, or is there a different process for downloading it, or is it not available for it yet? Just curious.

Amazing game. I loved this on the PC and am happy to see the port. Developer fixed initial graphic glitches, thanks! This is a lovely game to show off your new tablet or phone and gets very challenging as you progress. It’s also a full-sized PC game port with tons of hours of original play, and an absolute bargain at $5. Hope to see more PC ports like this come over as tablets and phones grow in power and graphics.

The Talos Principle. This seems like it would be a good game. But on my iPad the screen keeps going black, and the only to fix it is restarting the app. So far I’ve had to restart four times and I’ve only moved through about ten arches. It’s completely unplayable. I’m normally skeptical about new releases, but since the Apple Store is hyping this so heavily I (mistakenly) assumed they checked it out first. Not only does this not work for more than 30 seconds at a time on my iPad, it won’t even load on my 6s—tried it at least ten times.

Intriguing but infuriating. Make sure your phone has a case.. I like it in principle, but between fighting the controls and walking back and forth and back and forth moving boxes around you start to wonder if just doing the chore you were originally procrastinating, like doing the dishes for example, would have been just as tedious. Basically this is a job you don't get paid for. Although I find the game holds my interest, it also puts me in a foul mood and I end up snapping at people for no reason.

So good! Extra campaigns please!. Hello, how can we buy all the extra campaigns thanks! Road to Gehenna!!!! I’ve NEVER had a problem with the controls! I find them to work awesome fast and smooth. Just have to get a little used to it or turn up the sensitivity. I guess it is finicky sometimes to find certain points you need to connect to with the beams but other than that no probs
