Fun but heavily relies on heroes. The game is pretty good and I’ve been playing it for almost a month now, at first things were good since I had heroes to help with the production of my items but soon enough I didn’t have the necessary heroes to push out a sufficient amount of goods to keep my city going. I’m currently on city 7 and I don’t have a hero to make what looks like a generator which results in 7 being made every 33.4 seconds which is absolutely outrageous honestly. All of my upgrades need a generator and the amount being pushed out is just so slow. I’ve already opened 3 gold chests (750 gems) and there have been no new heroes and I’m not going to spend money on this game either. Another issue was the upgrading of heroes since I didn’t have enough cards to upgrade them, I would only have one worker for each station since my hero wasn’t high enough level and it was painfully slow and I would be losing resources and not getting enough food. Adventures aren’t much fun either as all you do is just watch your heroes attack and repeat. I think to improve the game they could lessen their dependency on heroes in the game because it lessens the fun and drives people away from the game as I’ve seen in other reviews. The game isn’t that fun anymore and I plan on deleting it soon since it’s become mundane at this point.

Honest Review / 72 Hour Gameplay. Straight to the point ⏭️ The Game is honestly really fun, kind of addictive at first due to the fact that you’re constantly working on building your first base & understanding the rules of survival. Construction time if fairly fast and diamonds ( used to speed of the process of things ) are giving to you in a decent manner, depending on how strategic of a player you are you can manage them properly. (Strategic knowledge is a must) if you try to bum rush your way through by running through supply you can find yourself in a loop hole of scavenging and might need to purchase resources to get back to speed. If that’s how you play correctly and actually be patient with it, the Game is fun. The battles you can partake in is also decent given the fact that they supply you with Stars to lvl up your heroes in a reasonable manner as well. 4/5 Stars because it can be slow at times, but hey.. you can’t expect perfection. Ads arent annoying or in the way either! :)

Played until 3rd city but will probably stop.. I actually tried to explain this through discord but seems like they are hardcore fans there and don’t listen to actual debate. Looking at the reviews, it seems like I was right. The third city is extremely difficult to the point where it will become hard for newer player retention. Games should only be that hard gradually, but your city becoming too dependent on Hero’s you get by chance will become incredibly frustrating to new players. A game should be challenging, but fair too. There should also be a better way to properly assign/unassigned survivors to accommodate specific needs. If for example one needs resting, you could send that specific survivor to sleep- instead of having to randomly un-assign survivors until you get the right one. Also there is this very frustrating bug that happens whenever you put your phone for a couple of minutes. Specifically during the work hour there will be only a specific amount of food ready for survivors. I came back after a few minutes and only 8 meals were ready for 14 survivors. Which caused someone to die (as I locked my phone 3 times). It’s also a little of a bummer to have to restart your city every time you complete the tasks- and mind you you don’t have to fully upgrade it either. Very frustrating game in that sense. Challenge progression should come in naturally, not from 0 to 100. It will confuse players, and it will become frustrating to a lot of them.

What’s the use of Heroes?. The game concept is great. But why the heck do you have level locks on heroes, especially when you NEED them to progress the game? I’d understand it if it was restrictions on advanced Epic or Legendary Heroes, but for the common heroes too? That’s too much. And what’s up with needing to acquire the heroes through a loot box system? It was ok for the first 2 levels because you actually EARNED the heroes once you build their respective factories… but why would you make it where my common level chef hero can’t be used at all in the future levels? I would have to get lucky enough to somehow draw out an Epic Chef Hero, completely discarding the progress I made with my current one. What irks me even more is how you can’t add more workers in a factory without your hero being a certain level! You BARELY get the red evolution stones to upgrade your hero! So if you can’t upgrade the level cap on your hero, then you can’t add more workers, which leads to an even longer time to get everything done, which will eventually lead to more survivors dying or leaving. I like idle games, but If I’m gonna be advancing my factories to the point where there can be 6 workers, but can only put 2 to work because my hero isn’t leveled enough or I didn’t get lucky enough to pull them from a loot box, then it’s not a problem on my side. It’s the game’s fault for making my progress slow. Im done with this game. 2 weeks and $8 wasted.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game but. This game is so heavily dependent on the heroes I’ve been stuck on city 3 for the past week. I understand it’s an idle game but truth be told there’s nothing fun in returning just to find out you barely have any more items than you did the last time you logged in. The people on the discord server are of no help either and act as if everything is all rainbows and cupcakes, boasting about how they made it without paying, especially because they’ve seen the multiple people who complain about not being able to collect the heroes too. I’ve gone without Sophia in city 3 for so long and it’s getting to the point even foundry 2 has progressed a lot more. It’s so bad and the survivors have paused multiple times because there wasn’t enough resources to continue production. There is currently only one survivor working in the first foundry and I don’t have the patience to wait until every event to get a chest or card, just to find out it isn’t even the card that I need. Don’t bother with the “thank you for feedback and if you have more you can email us” because I will tell you right here. Stop making the game so focused on the heroes because you’re intensely slowing down gameplay for not just me but for multiple other players. I’d rather have more upgrades and longer building times than have to sit and wait for days just to never end up getting the card I need.

Money grabber. Far too much of a money-grabbing game. I’m not surprised since it’s GM5 Studio, but it makes it ridiculously difficult the further in you get. Not to mention how absolutely bonkers the cost of the IAPs is. Upgrading heroes to a point where you have enough food—period—and can collect resources to move cities in sooner than a couple of weeks at least is impossible. Mini events (like the plane and coin/acorn one) aren’t completable unless you pay. Main events are nigh impossible to reach higher than milestone 8 without paying, and that’s if you check in every two hours and spend more time in-game than most people reasonably have. I’m also very perturbed by how the story is pretty much abandoned after the first few cities. It’s fun as much as it can be for an almost-pay-to-progress. Definitely possible for a 5 star review, if only it didn’t have what are essentially paywalls.

Close but missed its mark, pay to play.. It reminds me a lot of the pc game frost punk, which I assume is where the idea generated from because it is very very similar, but it failed to hit its mark. I dislike that u move from city to city but can overlook that it was until I got to the 3rd or 4th city that the issue began. Do to mobile games being the same money hungry game over and over again they put “hero's” into the game. I didn’t have much of issue with it at first but when I arrived in the 3rd or 4th city you need a hero for the iron mine, unfortunately no matter what I did I could not unlock him none of the missions have crates that would give me that hero and the free crates won’t either, I can’t progress anymore because of it and I’m not gonna spend money on the game just so I can play it. I do not recommend this game because of this reason, you can’t force your players to spend money just to progress. Again do not recommend do not play or spend money on.

Not a long lasting draw to play. The game is fun in the beginning, but feels stale even after visiting the 4th, 5th, etc city. If you follow the tasks you can finish the city relatively quickly, only to start over and try to do the same exact tasks. Also, the events feel like a distraction and are a bit annoying. You have to do an event and do the exact (or mostly) same tasks as your main city, have to grow heroes and upgrade buildings, for prizes to use in your main quests. It would be better to just do away with the events and allow in game achievements to get resources and gems to progress your main city. Both main game and events within the game have an almost identical goal, so it feels like double the work for really little reason. Also the map ‘fights’ feel disconnected a bit. There doesn’t seem to be a big pull to do them other than they are there. Why not have the game be just about building the city, allowing the player to earn extra resources and hero cards within that part of the game.

Classic Hood Game Ruined by MicroTransactions. Shaping up to be a fine time waster, until the 3rd city. In the 2nd city they start introducing helps e that you can collect and level up. And then survivors being able to work in a building is locked behind these heroes leveling up. Which is fine, it encourages you to go do hero activities. Then in the third city you don't even have that option. You can have one worker work in the building unless you get a hero who isn't available. Many he'd be available in one of the random free packs? But I don't see him. Ah, there he is. I can purchase him in the store for $5. And if it was a one time purchase to unlock the full game that might be one thing, but he isn't the only required hero that hasn't arrived yet. No, this is a greedy way to get you to spend money because you'll have to buy however many heroes they decide you'll have to buy, they just haven't let you know yet what that will cost you. And after you buy the first you feel like you have to buy the next or your money on the first was wasted. I'm not falling for that. Deleted.

Fun but broken!!!. I have literally grinded this game for a few months. Enjoying every bit of it and slowly climbing to reach the next level. But for one reason and one reason only I can’t give it 5 stars. The offline cycle is busted and has been for awhile. I know the last update says it was fixed but it’s not. I even tried leaving the game running in the background and it still didn’t progress materials any. Time keeps moving but hunger, supplies, sleep, none of it happens offline. I believe I am currently on level 7, just starting it and I can’t get anywhere because I can’t make coal fast enough. I have shut off any other factories that use coal including the furnace and cannot progress unless I sit and watch it. With the furnace off I’m sure everyone will die soon also or lead to a strike. Hopefully this gets resolved soon because I’m debating on deleting it do to the frustration of it all.

Addicting but glitchy. The core gameplay loop is definitely fun, but you run into some annoying issues a few hours in. Everyone’s complaining (understandably) about the monetization halting progress in its tracks, and I’d agree that that needs some tinkering. So yes, the paywall is pretty serious, but as someone who’s fine doing some micro-transacting, the game needs to be fixed before I’ll drop any real money on it. Half of my settlement is starving because they can’t get through the kitchen line in time. If I log in during a work period, the survivors all scatter from their homes because they hadn’t left them yet. A game with an idle timer that people can pay to extend should actually work during that idle time! Lastly, making the buildings farther apart in later cities just to cut down on usable work hours is bad and predatory game design. Bottom line, fix your AI because it’s hindering an otherwise decent experience.

The hero won’t show. This game is fine but I have some concerns about it. I keep getting chest but the hero just doesn’t show up!!! Fix this so I can actually have my survivors survive!! And the adds are fine, there is no adds, but when you want to get another chest to I open you can watch an add, and some of these adds are inappropriate!! And when I play it on my phone, my sister usually watches what I’m doing, and I constantly have to lift my phone up so she doesn’t see inappropriate adds!!!! That is what worry’s me about this game!! And the price to work the furnace is just to much!! I wasted half of my coal to just work it!!! And when you go to the city’s that you already finish, you can’t to nothing there, fix this!!! I am getting tired of it being like this! But otherwise the game is good 👍. But feel free to fix the errors In the game!! Please!!! And I know people have this kind of problems, I’ve read it in the comments! Now fix it!!!!!!!!

Fun, but ads never work. This is a fun game, and the events are good, but my biggest complaint is that the ads never work. The game will give you the option to watch an ad to get some resources, but every time I just get a message saying something about the ad failing, and my ONLY options are to pay to remove ads, or lose out on the resources. Other games will give you the stuff when the ads don’t work. The inability to get those extra resources really makes the game go slower, plus the developer doesn’t get to make any income from the ads. Other than the issue with ads, this is pretty much exactly the type of game I was looking for. I could do without the whole freezing storms and such, since I’m more interested in the city building and resource generating aspect of it, but it hasn’t been much of a nuisance so far.

At the second city the fun drains out unless you start spending money. The screenshots are definitely misleading, you don’t get to be ground level with the survivors at all. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the art, and there are a lot of options of things to do, but ‘improving’ your town becomes glacial the deeper into the second city you get, and progress becomes impossible unless you start buying stuff, but you can’t buy specific items you need - you buy chests of random items, so spending money doesn’t necessarily guarantee you improve your game. It didn’t let me get far enough in to actually love playing the game and see its fun potential before making me buy stuff (which I’m in no way opposed to) and just made it a waiting game to gain resources with no clear path of where it’s supposed to be going. It has potential to be fun, but I got bored playing for free, so I’m not sure why I’d justify spending money on it.

Too reliant on heroes. I like this game and most of its mechanics. The major problem I have is that the heroes are required starting in city 3 just to make progress. The hero’s level limits how many people can work a job in a building. This would be fine in my opinion, if it didn’t affect food. Without a hero in city 4, I cannot get more than one person collecting food, and the amount they gather without the hero’s multiplier is abysmal. The people are starving to death and not able to get resources I need to advance the greenhouse either. Why not just wait it out in this city and get the hero, and all will be well from then on? That’s because when you advance to another city down the line, there’s a new hero you need of a higher rarity. Now you’re back with the same problem, with an even lower chance of getting the hero you need from the free box, and I do the one free box a day and the one that’s free from an ad. It feels like a forceful cash-grab to get you to buy premium currency and open boxes.

Good but there’s problems. I haven’t had this game for that long and I do think it’s great and very fun but I also think it has a few problems. When watching ads to get rewards, it doesn’t always give you the reward. For example if you get the game from the ad it showed you or there is any disturbance while watching the ad it won’t give you the reward among many other problems with ads. This is the only game that I have this problem with. During the adventures no matter how good of a team you have and picked it will give you enemies that are way above what you can defeat very early so the whole adventure was just pointless. One of the things I really enjoy in this game is the gems and how much they give you. You can use so many gems to speed things up and still have 200 plus left over. There are constant opportunities to receive gems without having to pay for them.

Fun for like 2 days. It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong. At least for the first day or so. Over time, it just becomes very apparent to be a pay-to-progress game. Not in a literal sense, but to a very distinct point. You get to a point where you’re required to have a hero in order to have people work in a building that produces a very essential item to progress, so until you get lucky and get the hero from the free cards every 8 hours, or you buy it, you best be okay with producing your materials at a painfully slow rate. I would understand if it involved prioritizing where you work your survivors in order to progress to the next step, but then you fall back into the restriction of needing a certain hero to have more than one person working in a shop. I get that you don’t want to advance through the villages/levels super rapidly, as that would take away the feeling of achievement, but if I have to feel like it’s easier to pay $5.99 to get the 2 hero’s i need just for ONE village than it is to check back every 2 hours for 3 days, then I see no enjoyment in this game. Rant review over.

Pay to play solution. Ugh I have to retype this 🙄 I was almost done typing and the App Store app decided to refresh itself 🙄 Ok many reviews complain about a pay wall. I’m assuming that I’ve hit the same point. It’s the 3rd city and the iron building requires a hero that you have to pay for. Heroes unlock additional worker slot, without them, you can only have 1 worker assigned in certain buildings. The 3rd city will require a lot of iron and coal to progress. You need coal to increase the iron production speed. You also need iron to increase the coal production in general. The fire that keeps the towns people warm, has an infinite fuel source when you first start off there. So refrain from upgrading the furnace to level 2 for awhile. Level 2 will burn the coal you’ve accumulated. it’s better to use it to max out the iron production speed first. The level 1 furnace won’t keep everyone warm enough, but you can utilize your hospital. If they get sick, they’ll get better within seconds. If someone dies, another survivor joins shortly after. So don’t stress on their health and focus solely on increasing your iron production. I have 1 worker who’s producing 108 iron every 6sec. It’s still slower, but it’s much better than what I started with. I hope this helps someone. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s working so far.

Great Game, Giant Issues. To start off I loved this game initially, it was an even level of grinding for resources and then getting rewarded by being able to progress. But the issues arise when you start progressing further into the story and into the harder cities and realize the only way to get the heroes you need (which are used for resources you must have to progress) is essentially to buy them the first time they pop up in the shop, hope to get them in a random pack if you miss your chance, or grind fanatically during events to maybe get them. You can of course grind for weeks to slowly amass enough resources to move to the next city but by the time you do that you essentially have to start over and it’s not worth the time spent just clicking and waiting ages to collect resources. It has a lot of potential to be a great game, but having to spend maybe more than ten dollars attempting to get a character to progress the story is ridiculous, paying to unlock skins and other fun things is great but paying to progress is incredibly frustrating as even if you do buy the pack you aren’t always guaranteed to get the hero you need.

Love it buttttttt. I love this game but I would like to see more of the chatting between characters (the chat pop ups of dialogue) and more life from the survivors while working and waking around such as frustration while working (bubble above the head with anger emoji) or running when late to work, turning blue or slow while cold and holding stomach while hungry (I love when they run to the kitchen/lunchroom) and a tad bit more explaining when going to a new city such as how did we get here, why we left the other town, what our goal is in the new city or something like that to get the player motivated to play in the new city because as I seen in these other reviews people are complaining about starting over but if you don’t want to start over play outlanders on Apple Arcade or something. I love the story line you guys have built but I feel like it’s got plot holes when you transfer to a new city, also where do the hero’s come from? You could add more story there just not too much to bore the average player. Thank you I hope you take my thoughts into consideration

Decent but needs adjusted.. Needs work. It’s a great game, I’ve always been into these types of games. Being a huge fan of Frost punk, which is obviously what this game took inspiration from, I had expectations that weren’t met. I actually edited the fact that you can move through different districts or whatever you call them, but the fact that I can’t get new hero’s to save my life is kind of a problem. I have 6 workbench’s in my iron mine but can only run 1 workers because I can’t get the hero. Yet my foundry 1 and 2 are both running atleast 4 workers. So there’s no way I can keep up with the demand and also have enough to upgrade. The iron mine is only making 8k iron a minute when it should be making more like 80k all because I can’t get one hero. I believe hero’s need reworked. I think them having an effect on how much you’re outputting or the speed is better than determining if you can have workers or not. Fix the hero’s and it’s be 5 stars.

Fun but getting harder. I am having fun with this game. Especially the side games they are much easier to upgrade your hero’s. The main game is basically the same in every town. But for some reason it is fun starting over at each town. Right now it is getting to hard to get red stars and I am having problems getting production out of some of my workshops. There is one hero that I need for one of the workshops that they say you can get in one of the suitcases but I can not get him. I have spent money on this game to buy a suitcase or two and still unable to get him. So now I am having trouble passing the level without him. It is very frustrating that I wait a day and hope that the production in certain workshops have built up so that I can continue and move on. But, that does not happen. Unfortunately I am almost ready to stop playing and delete the game because of these things. :(

Just too many bugs. I really want to love this game. It is fun but the bugs that persist through many updates are increasingly frustrating. Some are hard to notice but are undermining the ability to strategize at all. For example: the game will show that a certain upgrade will increase oil production by 400K but when you actually do the upgrade it increases production by only 100K. That’s bad, but what is much worse is the game has serious issues keeping track of your production when you’re not actively in the app. I will look at what my factory is producing and what amount I need for the next upgrade, figure out that should take x hours and plan to return. When I come back after the time, there has been zero actual production. Worse, even though I literally have 250K in excess raw food and a fully staffed kitchen, all my survivors are starving or have died and abandoned their posts. This is especially a problem in the events. To avoid this I have to leave the app open and my phone on. Kind of a deal breaker as it defeats the purpose of an “Idle Game”. If they could iron these issues out I would rate 5 stars and consider spending on an otherwise really well designed game.

The p2w bottlenecking is really egregious here.. Like many other reviews, the third city has a massive bottleneck in that you need a whole new crew of heroes to get production running. Previous cities unlocked heroes as you completed tasks but this one requires either waiting to get them out of free chests every 8 hours or so or buying chests or heroes in packs. The chances of getting the heroes you need for production out of the free packs are very, very low. You will get a lot of heroes you already have and aren’t in production. The push to pay is really hamfisted and introduces fake difficulty through a money wall rather than any actual difficulty or balance. I’m hoping the game lets up after this city and doesn’t introduce another crew of production heroes in city 4 because I’m not playing another week of box opening simulator. There needs to be a way to earn the new production heroes that isn’t luck-based. Put tokens in the fighting modes as rewards or something that doesn’t require chests and rng.

Another fun game ruined by microtransactions. Firstly I'd like to say I realize devs need to monetize their products. I'm not bothered by that at all. This game however breaks a few days into playing it specifically so you're enticed to make a microtransaction. Let me explain: TLDR: the drop rate on some necessary heroes is so insanely low that you're either stuck or forced to pay. full explanation: There are "heroes" which grow the output exponentially. If you don't get the hero you can't get more people working on that resource and thus have an extremely limited output. So when you get to copper there's a hero that they don't give you no matter how many earned suitcases you open. I imagine he is there but they made the drop chance so low that you get stuck. To give some reference, right now i'm outputting about 54 bronze pieces per 13 seconds and our idle output is limited to 2 hours; unless... you guessed it, another microtransaction. This makes it nearly impossible to progress and i'm not even that far into the game. The weirdest part is that it's a pretty even increase in difficulty until you get to bronze then it comes out of nowhere and the production goals just get more and more out of reach until you're considering paying. I was so into this game I would have bought stuff if it wasn't so coercive.

Paid to play after a certain point. I played until the certain point in the game. When I was getting less hero’s cards to upgrade the ones I was currently playing per city it was becoming more frustrating to get more materials and people to make them. I’ve noticed I built a bad habit of spending unnecessary money for the game to move on for the main game and their side games. So How i viewed it I was spending money just to play a game. Sorry I can’t no longer support it not when it was 1. Getting me no where and two when I’ve nearly spent $30 in one day. That’s when I knew I need to delete this game. After that I knew I needed to delete the game before I end up investing more money to only bring me joy for a few minutes. It was great to play the game in the beginning but once you past city 10 that’s when you spend your money. I liked it when you played the mini events they would give you gems 💎as rewards when they were up in 2-3 days (the main thing that would help you by past building materials) but now they hardly give you any good rewards to help you advance in the game. Like any game once you start spending for a free game it’s no longer free and not worth playing.

Greed ruins actual fun strategy and gameplay. The strategy of villager, building, and resource management is fun. The hero monetization makes it less fun as when you get to level 3, the game makes it extremely hard to acquire the necessary heroes to keep progressing at a reasonable pace. The “Last Austimn” limited time mode should be more or less how the main game functions where instead of hoping to acquire heroes via loot boxes, you have all the buildings and heroes available, with a limited amount of heroes which requires you to be more strategic in what you have your villagers work on and the order in which you upgrade your buildings and production. I was initially writing a whole essay of a review with a lot of detail, but me switching from game to App Store multiple times deleted my whole review. So this review is a lot more brief and I am not giving examples as to why I’m making these claims.

Good game but it’s basically pay to play. The theme is great, very frost punk and it is fun to play. However the game is often pay to play. I don’t just mean watching ads or buying things to advance faster/easier but you actually have to buy heroes on certain levels just to be able to play. Each city “level” require specific heroes to run production buildings. In the first 2 cities you are give these heroes by completing tasks. However in cities 3 and 4, Plain City and Ice Lake, you aren’t given the heroes to operate key production buildings. So you hit a huge roadblock that makes the game frustrating. One example, in Ice Lake there is a farm building. Which is the only food source for your city but without Andrew, you can only assign one worker which doesn’t produce nearly enough food so your survives constantly die. And it’s not just because the level is difficult and you have to play smart to advance, you are held back completely by the fact you didn’t buy the hero pack for that level.

Too hero dependent and monthly payments are bad value. Like other reviews state, the 3rd level is also doing me in. The game has a good gameplay loop however, progress at level 3 is stalled due to a necessary hero that I have to magically get with loot boxes. Additionally, there are 3 separate monthly paid subscriptions that you can opt into and they are all of incredibly bad value. $10/month for ad free? The game barely has ads as it is. $10/month to gain 100 gems a day? Might as well just buy the gems in bulk from the store. $15/month to construct more than 2 things at a time and gain 2 more hours of idle work. World of Warcraft offers a better value proposition for $15/month. To have all 3 subs going at once is $35/month. None of these subs address the issue that you’re completely stuck without getting the right heroes in loot boxes. I’m enjoying the gameplay loop for now but the devs really should tweak it so the builds do not depend on heroes to staff additional workers.

Good game but could be much better. The game has a great flow even if you’re practically starting over after every accomplished level/city. My biggest gripe is that players, like myself, that migrate from one city to the next seem to outpace the developers of this game. For example, I’m in a city where 30-40% of my buildings can only support 1 worker because relevant (new) heroes do not generate for the city that I am in. Yet hero’s generate for older cities that I’ve already moved on from, which is cool because i still may use them as fighters for adventures but ultimately it stagnates me because I’m unable to move forward and truly experience the game. I’ve completed 2 other cities with buildings that fail to attain a hero and still acquiesced with bottlenecks in my pipeline. It just gets worse as I progress through the game. It’s frustrating as a user and there should be better algos in place to support players in relation to the actual level they’re on. Meanwhile the side games provide rapid hero support even though these event aren’t the main objective of the game. Seems to be a huge gap and miss!

Fun game, terrible support and value for money. I’ve been playing this game for quite some time and strongly supported it. The game, progressively could get boring or difficult especially if you’re stuck with the food resource providers or the fuel ones and have to upgrade them as your game will pretty freeze for a while until you upgrade them. In terms of events, they keep coming up with good ideas but the even repeat themselves. I wouldve given the game a 4-5 star review had it not been to the recent incident in the event. Briefly, the new events they issue out consume a lot of processing space along and results in the overheating and lag of the device. I use two phones and I switch between them for this game. I purchased a few packages and consumed gems that I’ve been saving since I started playing. I ended up losing the progress I made after the purchase right when I switched phones and the maximum compensation they offered was a 120 minute resource pack which costs literally 180 gems after two hours in real time along with the gems and money spent ending up being useless due to the loss of progress and acquired cards. Over 1500 gems and 5$ were wasted.

Fun but also frustrating pay to progress game. The game is fun until they introduce heroes, afterwards, the game comes to a screeching halt if you don’t have the right one or the hero isn’t the right level. Most of the time you can purchase upgrades using real cash or diamonds (diamonds can be earned but most likely purchased). If you don’t want to or can’t purchase the upgrade then the game slows to a crawl while you want to collect the resources necessary. From what I can tell, the heroes and resources required to upgrade arrive randomly so you can’t plan on how to acquire them without purchase. Progress in the 3 day events reset after the event is over so you lose anything you buy and upgrades to make the overall game more playable are subscriptions (some monthly and some weekly). If you don’t mind the play parameters, the game can be a lot of fun but beware that it could be a black hole for your cash and time.

Misleading and Money Hungry. First off you don’t build your own town, you move from place to place upgrading. Then each city you move to gets harder, as with most games right? Well the only way to advance and move on is if you get these hero’s that the only way you’re guaranteed to get them is to buy them with your own money. Otherwise you have to wait until you get them either as a prize (which you get from advancing the city so that won’t happen if you can’t get the hero) or if you by some miracle get them in the 8 hour free case (which let’s be honest, I’ve never gotten the hero I actually need from this stupid thing). There is no option for you to use diamonds that you’ve earned to pick which hero card you get. So you could have like 10 cards for a hero you don’t even need them for, but nothing that will help you advance. The only redeeming part of this is weekend events. Only weekend ones. The Last Autumn is during the week and it’s just as bad as your main cities. The others are fun though, and they give pretty good rewards.

Great until 3rd City. I have the same comments as everyone else. This game is really fun, well done and with nice progression, and the rewards feel proportional up until city three. Then, instead of the heroes you need to being given out as you finish tasks, suddenly one vital hero is behind a pay wall. You can’t put more than one worker in a key building, no matter how much you upgrade. Progress grinds to a halt, and there’s no real point in logging in more than every couple of hours to grab your rewards and make hope is enough for one tiny upgrade. I love supporting developers who make good games. I’m always happy to throw money towards them because I know how expensive it is to make and maintain a mobile game. But the Hero paywall feels bad; also, $10 a week or $20 per month to go ad free is outrageous. Don’t respond to this and say you’d like my feedback on how to improve, because I’m giving it here: (1) don’t suddenly put heroes behind a paywall after you’ve led your gamers to believe that they’ll be handed out as rewards, and (2) lower the fee by about 90% for ad free (make it a one time fee or up at $1-$2 per month). Or don’t offer it at all, if ad revenue is so important to your income.

Fun Game UNTIL you get to third city. At first glance this game looked like fun, tried it out and it was! Resource management and a new idea that you gotta keep your colonists warm by centering your settlement around a big furnace. The game was a joy to play until I hit the third settlement where I was resource blocked because I needed heroes in order for my resources to be produced efficiently. The game does give you some beginner heroes, but by the third settlement you have to either unlock them by opening a daily box (low chance of success) OR you guessed it! Hand over the cash, which for me takes the joy out of any game and potential it could have to be a great game. I understand games have to formulate ways to become profitable, but at the same time their are games out there that are perfectly profitable without impeding a players progress. What I’m saying is don’t let your players hit a brick wall and then expect them to pay up in order to keep playing, because at that point we can see the greedy business man rubbing his hands together while he watches us mice try to get to the cheese.

Set up for failure. I actually enjoyed this game as a time consumer. I’m disabled so I have a bit of down time and I’m always looking for new games. This is a good game for that. I actually really enjoyed it. It has an adventure part you do on the side that keeps it non repetitive for the most part and it has side events where you go and build side towns for rewards. So that stuff is pretty nice. Unfortunately I did pay a little here and there to keep up to even out of the rewards that I got. I wish I never spent any money on this game now. As time has went on and I’ve passed levels (currently on 5 my screen only shows 7) it’s slowly made my people angry for no reason. Your survivor dissatisfied bar. Last town (4) for some reason they were almost ready to strike and it gave me 0 indication as to why. The temp, stomach and sleep were all basically always at the top so I have no idea what was going on. Now that I’ve moved on to the next town although all three of my major bars are full my meter is starting to drop. With 0 indication as to why. It’s frustrating that I’ve done all the requirements to keep them safe and fed but something is causing them to be dissatisfied and it won’t tell me what. Very frustrating. The fact I can’t get my money back is the only thing that keeps me playing.

My comments are the same as the others. It’s a fun game to do when your passing time, but the progress is agonizingly slow in r the 3rd city. Why require hero’s with a loot box system in place to get them? Especially if no progress can be made without them. The prices are outrageous, even more so when you think of the fact that they’re MONTHLY and some even Weekly. I took a gamble and bought diamonds so I could get some of the crates without waiting. I got a hero I didn’t even need, nor does it do anything to actually help my progress. And it’s very misleading when it says “Go to shop” in the hero’s screen under the ones to collect. It makes it seem like you can individually purchase them when again it’s all locked behind loot boxes essentially. I’ve filled out 2 in game surveys as well in having the game over the last month, and it doesn’t seem like they go to any use.

A great game until it isn’t.. So let me start off by saying the game was extremely fun and rewarding until the 3rd city. Why the 3rd city you ask? Well up until this point the game would give you the much needed heroes for each building that allows you to unlock more spots for civilians to speed up progression. In the 3rd city they do this but for one of the middle tier buildings. This essentially gimps you from making even the slowest of progress. I can only assume this is one of two things. A money making tool to force a player to spend money on the loot boxes in game in hopes of getting said hero or it’s a bug. I’m really hoping it’s just a bug because this has stopped my progression for multiple days now just hoping that finishing up some of the quests will finally give me a quest to unlock the hero needed to start making progress. Iv upgraded almost every building but the one needed has still been stuck at 1 civilian making upgrading any further actually impossible.

Starts out good but then loses its excitement. I saw this game advertised and thought it would be fun. It starts out great but then it becomes impossible. As you go to different cities you need to gather hero’s and level them up. In the beginning that is fun and doable. Do adventures, get stars, level up hero. Soon the amount of stars is not possible to get to level up one level plus every few levels you need multiple cards for that hero. It’s to the point you are running a factory with only one person. You can’t get enough fuel to heat the furnace, or food for the survivors to eat. It’s truest impossible unless you buy stuff. My town is always striking and any people starve to death. One of the side adventures you need building permits to get survivors but the only way to get them is the slot machine. Sometimes it’s ok, the last round I only got a few permits so I could not advance to get the prizes. It was not fair. Most likely will stop playing soon since it’s no longer fun or challenging.

Pay to win. At first this game was fun and seemed like something to bide my time for a while with its soothing calm music and semi dark need for survival. After this first 2 cities however the game takes a drastic change in difficulty that can only be remedied by purchasing from the store. It’s hard to get new heroes you need unless you buy them out right which….as soon as you unlock a resource that requires a new hero, guess which one magically appears in the shop for sale! Then there’s the events with a ranking system that you can only really win if you spend More money to give yourself a boost on resource generation. On a whim I wanted to see how much of a boost I would get. I spent 3 dollars to buy 15 blueprints to increase my housing for survivors. With a few hours I went from rank 209 to 142….for 3$. If you don’t mind spending money then this game is alright. But if your like me just looking to play then I would recommend another game.

Good Game- but not the production cap. I love the concept and the style of this game, and playing through the first two cities was extremely fun. Once I got to the third city though, every building required a new hero to have workers put into it- even if I already owned a hero with the same job description. The way it’s set up to require specific heroes isn’t very efficient, and Mmmh production is slowed down to virtually nothing. I can only get a couple upgrades every ten or so minutes because of how slowly my one worker gets things done. Other than that, I vastly enjoy the side battles you can do on the map, and I like how the heroes do serve some purpose in adding a multiplier to my workers output. I appreciate the lack of excessive ads, and still watch some by choice. Overall, I’m a bit sad that I can’t make very much progress- I’ve been waiting for four hours checking in every few minutes only to have my production not even double in one resource, but I’m still going to keep playing, because I still enjoy it.

Early Stage FUN, soon Serious Problems. I agree with all other reviews. At the beginning it’s super fun. Then, it becomes too needlessly difficult and boring as you wait to randomly get heroes that you NEED to complete levels. Also, the cost to build and the time to build (over an hour) becomes another reason to turn the game off and find one that is less torturous. The developers clearly want you to purchase access to heroes and ways to speed up time. It’s very heavy handed and not appreciated. Personally, I’m at a point where I’ve waited three real time days to get enough resources to move incrementally forward. This is not fun. It is arduous. *Case in point: playing 3 days on this new level, but desperately need the greenhouse hero. Had countless opportunities to get this hero (purchased suitcases with my existing diamonds & general play has yielded maybe 10 opportunities to get this specific hero… but no. The game WILL NOT give me this hero). Greenhouse w/o hero makes 18 potatoes. Kitchen needs 700 potatoes per meal. Characters are starving. This has been happening for three days. Simply can’t feed. This is zero fun.

Hard to progress without money. I typically do not play games like this one but really enjoyed it as soon as I downloaded it. The first two cities were fun and I was able to progress really fast. However, once it came to the third city, it was hard to make a sufficient amount of product, without having to pay for the heroes. Even if you open the boxes, you will get the same heroes that are useless for that city. I’m onto the fourth city now and have now deleted the game. It took me nearly 2 weeks to get past the third city when it took me less than a week to get past the first two. I can only imagine how long the fourth city is going to take without having to spend money and so on. Really sad I had to delete this game but I also don’t want to spend so much money trying to progress faster. Hope they find a solution to this soon :(

City 3 is the money wall. City 3 is where you have to break down and buy the heroes that will allow you to properly staff your production. Otherwise, you’ll just grind by logging in a couple times a day to collect resources for 1-2 upgrades. F2P time on app drops to about five minutes a day. If you’re cool with that then this game might work for you. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep playing to see if I can randomly draw a hero in a free crate that I know the devs want me to pay real money for. Another frustrating part of the game is that the survivors you lure in are always exhausted and starving, and some of them stay that way even if you pump all your resources into the dorms and kitchens to max out recovery. You can only have them eat twice a day and sleep once a day. The end result is that your production is always working at a reduced rate (10% loss). That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you can only have one worker per resource because you didn’t buy the heroes it can have a big effect.

Fun, but little bugs make it annoying. This is my favorite idle game, because it genuinely feels like the I’ve made progress almost every time I log in. Even the events are pretty satisfying, though I don’t like how some of the changes they’ve made to them generally make it harder to achieve rewards. The rewards themselves have also been switched around to be a little less appealing in general. One thing that drives me crazy sometimes though is the weird mechanics that go into how the villagers eat. If you leave the game open in the background, it will sometimes act up, and then just skip mealtimes. I’ve also noticed that if you have more than say 25 villagers, the rest of them basically always go hungry because there’s little not enough time for all of them to eat, even when you have enough food. All of this of course goes towards causing strikes, slowing down production, etc. It’s start to reach another level of annoying, and makes the game almost unbearable to play at times. Really hope they fix that soon.

Don’t waste your time on this game play WhiteOut Survival instead. Let me start this off by saying I initially downloaded this game first, now by some miraculous miracle I’m on the 4th city after having this game for the better part of a Year, you get most heroes you need except whoops if you want Sophia or the chef and medic and greenhouse hero for city 4 you are at the mercy of the 8 hour chests which don’t do jack, or claw and scrape to get to 350 gems to get a rare chest with what seems like 0.5% odds of achieving new heroes. The game developers here really dropped the ball and made this game to where if you don’t pay them to pay you will never get enjoyment out of it, oh and let’s not forget this new weekly and monthly subscription plan that doesn’t do anything but line the pockets of some shawty game that a second year programming could figure out how to work. Seriously if you want to make this game more fun make it to where the heroes you need to progress through the game are guaranteed unlockables while you play, increase the odds if you don’t have certain heroes over upgrading others, or just do away with utilizing heroes for boosts on your buildings.

Great game…... I like the game, yet there are some things I would def change about this. First thing is let the players choose if they want to play with the heroes. Waiting 8 hours to hope you get the hero you need and be disappointed every time because it is just the same old stuff is annoying. You can’t move forward without having the specific hero for the plant because you don’t receive them the game wants us to spend $6.99 to then guaranteed get the heroes we need. Not ok, there should be other ways to get heroes like when you go on adventures or on the fighting sprees. Games nowadays just always wants the players to spend money. Just not feasible. Also the players do not really communicate with each other like in your ads. Another thing is if you have a factory and have four machines yet only one worker due to the hero problem it’s not fun to be waiting around for that hero to finally show up. Something should be done about it. The game otherwise is not a bad game.

Issue with game. The game is pretty good to play. It would be a lot better if 2 things were changed. First you supposedly get two tries to get chests and puzzle pieces. One you get automatically pretty much the second you have to watch advertising to get it. Most of the times it works like it’s supposed to but manny or most it tells you that the “ads re not loaded” therefore you miss out on getting the second chest and puzzle piece. Few time if you go back at a later time before the time clock resets you can get them, but those are few and far. The other major issue I see is that sometimes the game is set up so that most used resource for that city becomes extremely difficult to acquire and no matter how much time you spend playing game you really can’t advance much due to this sue. I for one May stop playing if these two issues continue to occurr. I like the game but these 2 points make me lose interest in the game.

It's fun, but the commercial is misleading and could be better!. I would have given it five stars, but there are two or three things—hell, maybe more—about this game that I absolutely do not like. The advertisement is misleading. I thought I was going to be building my town from the ground up like the survivors in the trailer, but instead I’m moving from town to town, which is very annoying. I hate the idea of starting over every time my main survivors take me to a different location, just to start over. Second, I despise relying on the idiotic eight-hour free card to bring my hero to my town.I have two buildings that I can’t even move forward with because I don’t have the heroes. I wish they would just come with the story like the other survivors do when you upgrade your town's sleeping quarters. I mean, this is ridiculous. I have five excellently upgraded machines, but only one Survivor is working in my building. Why? because the so-called hero has not shown up. My other building has four machines but only one worker. one worker, and it's because the hero hasn't shown up for that one either. Again, this is ridiculous. Who came up with this stupid concept? and I'm definitely not desperate enough to spend money to get them to come to my town either. Also, another misleading thing your commercial shows, which clearly doesn't happen in the game, is that the survivors don't freely talk to each other!

Excellent City Building Game Play Again and Again. I will start by saying this game is always on my ipad and is really a staple amongst go-to games. It is really fun, first you start out by building basic city buildings and getting enough wood and materials to make your city warmer. There are side battles to make it interesting, and is an “idle” game that you can play for a bit, step away to let resources gather, and come back to it. it is very relaxing and not too competitive with other players like many games where you feel like you have to spend money just to keep up. The side events are fun and keep it interesting. My comments to the developers on this outstanding and amazing game are 1) let me buy “no ads” at a flat price versus a subscription (I will never subscribe, I hate that model, but would pay a good amount to get no ads); 2) the side game with the fur factory is super boring and i have played it many times and can never get enough money to even care if i finish it, the best ones are grandpas farm and the seaweed fishing; 3) the daily adventure should have an automatic feature to go through the levels because after playing for almost two years it feels like a chore so i just stopped doing it. Don’t let these three items take away from your fun though this game is top ranked, i don’t have any of the bugs these other people are talking about, and play this game almost every day and love it!

Good game but a bit slow.. Progress is possible without paying money, I am at city 15 just by watching a few :-) ads. I would happily pay some money for this game if it were a one-off, but the fee-per-month structure has put me off paying anything. Somewhat addictive (I have even got up in the night to play for 10mins) but slow progress unless you are willing to pay for each city. Occasional in-game crash, usually associated with showing ads, is a mild annoyance.

Paywall hurdles. The game was fun for the first two levels, but the third level is nearly impossible to progress on because the heroes needed for leveling up the productions, you don’t get as task rewards anymore. Apparently you can buy them but putting game progress behind a paywall on a “free to play” game is despicable. I am about ready to delete this game. To fix this, the heroes should become available again as task rewards, or the additional production slots should be available without the heroes.

Love this game!. Absolutely loving the game I’m just struggling with the yellow stars to build up my hero’s! They don’t seem to accumulate enough at all in the higher levels and I’m not enjoying it! I can’t even buy more! I’d love to see improvements on that and loved the longer even and can’t wait for more of them maybe just a little bit more achievable for the rewards!

Worth playing. I stumbled across this game from an ad. I probably play my IPad games so this is perfect for me. I do what needs to be done, go about my day then play again in the evenings. I like the variety in the game with various events and mini games. If you are a “set and forget” player this game is definitely for you.

Great game, until... I really enjoyed the game until I no long was able to unlock a hero (Arthur) that was preventing me from playing any further and progressing. The only way through was to spend money… which I’m not about. I think there needs to be more free ways to earn gems, otherwise it’s impossible to keep playing.

Fun… until 3rd city. The first two location was fun. Like any game if you don’t want to pay, it’s a grind. Which is fair. But, the 3rd location - well, let’s just say it’s pretty much you HAVE to pay. can’t unlock a certain character to level up your building & production. You can leave your game idle… but yea after a week i’m still nowhere near moving ahead. Such a shame.

Terrible forced paid progression and lootbox system. I’ve no idea why this game is rated so highly. Do people review it after only playing the first city or something? I’ve hit a paywall in the third city where I have no way of progressing (short of waiting months) without paying to find the hero I need. Worse than that however, is even if I do pay money, it’s completely up to chance as to whether or not I get the hero I need to progress. I purchased two premium lockboxes with gems I had managed to earn in-game and neither contained the hero I needed. It’s one thing to make you feel like you need to pay to progress, it’s another entirely to make what you pay only give you a CHANCE of having what you need. This is one of the worst examples of this in an idle game that I’ve seen. The rest of it I enjoyed, but considering I came across this in a few days of solid playing, I dread to think how much worse later cities will be. Deleting and moving on.

Pay to play basically. Been stuck on the same time for over a week because I can’t ransomly unlock the hero I need to I’m stuck with only 1 person working even though it’s almost fully upgraded. I’m mean I could fix this is I spend $11!!! The entire game isn’t worth $11. Shame really. Good way to ruin a good time killing game. Now I’m not saying I wouldn’t pay I understand the developers need to be paid but not worth $11 per person. Per town probably as every new town brings new hero’s.

Back to prev cities. Why can’t I go back to my previous cities anymore? I liked being able to go back to keep upgrading buildings I hadn’t finished even though I had moved on to the next city. Please bring it back I was close to maxing out all the buildings of my fourth city

Best game, please make the events longer!. I genuinely love this game! It does get progressively harder as you move to a new city. I dislike how it takes so long to gain characters/build and sometimes it feels you have to spend $$ to move forward in the game. I wish it went faster and didn’t take so long to move cities. I play this game hours everyday and even then I’m just constantly waiting for supplies to update buildings or trying to get characters. I loveeee the events, especially the farming. I love that there is a leaderboard and it is very easy to level up and build quickly I wish it was like that in the normal game

Scam start from level 4. They force to buy their cards bcuz in level 4 basic food is not enough without purchase of card firstly they build the interest then they start scam you guyz don’t have to do this at-least provide cards in normal buyz like 8 hours free box then watch ad box even we hace happy to spend diamonds but for every city have to spend 15$ is not worth it. Please make changes in your scheme

Can’t reach level eight on map. Hi, I love the game, but I can’t scroll to location 8 on the map PS I’m on iPhone 14 Pro in case that matters please fix this if you can because it is actually a fun game. Thank you for the time to read this

It’s okay but extremely slow. At the beginning of the game you progress through at a great speed, they ask for a review and you give a good one because you think its great. Than all of sudden you get to the third city (level three) and you hit a massive slow down. You can’t progress at any speed because they want you to buy two characters and if you don’t the factories pretty much comes to a stop as you can’t keep upgrading, you can’t put worker on and can’t keep up with demand from the other factories. Which mean you can’t upgrade anything, even after days of playing you get no where. They do have events that lead you too a different place and you get to upgrade them, keeps you distracted for a moment but obviously only lasts so long. The only good thing about these is they give you a bonus when the events over. Unfortunately this only gives you a small amount not really letting you progress much, unless you are willing to spend money I wouldn’t suggest this game.

FUN BUT YOU NEED TO SPEND MONEY TO PROGRESS. I am enjoying this game. I have been playing it for around a week. However to progress I need heroes. I am constantly using my free chests, spending gems to open rare chests and I am still short two heroes. So I have bought gems to purchase the heroes. Nope I get extra cards for my existing heroes. I can’t progress any further until I get the last hero. My survivors are starving (can’t upgrade the kitchen). Truly frustrating. So close to giving up. Not enjoyable at all!

Disappointed with the pay wall. I really enjoyed the first 2 cities, loved the dynamics and game play. The 3rd city took me 3 weeks to get through,I opened the chest and watched the videos for the second chest every 8 hours. Did not receive the hero’s needed until I completed enough tasks to move on to city 4. I persisted thinking once I finally got the hero’s I needed it would be much easier and more enjoyable. I was beyond disappointed to see city 4 only kept 2 of the hero’s needed. Hospital and kitchen required completely different hero’s to what I had already collected making progress a snail pace. Sad to say I had to give this game up. Don’t bother unless you want to fork out money for hero’s that don’t continue on through the game’s levels.

Hang in there for level 3 - - - 5 star game. Great game! Some reviews talk about not being able to pass Level 3, but you can, even without the heroes (it is how I passed it). There is a big difference in how quickly you can complete your city between cities 2 and 3. The first two are pretty easy to complete, but from city 3 it takes time and patience! I found the best trick is to not rush building everything - take your time building the main city - and play the fast paced mini game events in between, the daily adventure, and the battle challenges. Despite struggling in city 3, I got through it ( without the main heroes) with time and patience. The heroes ARE in the cases/crates. Use your blue diamonds to open more valued cases - diamonds are easy to accrue.

The best. Hands down one of the greatest phone games I’ve played. I never go out of my way to review but this game made me! I generally get bored of phone games fairly quickly but I have been playing this for a couple months now and still find myself playing any opportunity I get.

Frozen city. Frozen city is a great and easy game to play with a friend and I love it when you get to play it with a friend it is very simple to play it by yourself

This game could be so much better. I really enjoyed this game, but when it’s artificially making things harder to try and force spend money because of the lack of Arthur (googles the game and having his name auto complete gives me a vibe I’m not the only one) is very frustrating I want to enjoy it more. I’m 4 cities in and I might give up on this game

Blatant rip of from frostpunk. What they did was stole the concept like the frozen wasteland to the generator in the middle of the city from frostpunk. Then add mobile things like having to wait a certain time before doing anything or ither buy transactions to speed it up. If you want a better experience get frostpunk or wait until there version of mobile comes out.

A game to generate addicts. This game definitely hits all the addiction hotspots. I think the games sole purpose is to get you addicted to the repetitive actions of growth. Give you nice little dopamine hits along the way, then give you dopamines withdrawals to encourage you to get the in-app purchases. All the sounds in the game is like walking through a casino. This can’t be healthy. Besides that, the artistic style of the game is awesome, and the general theme and events are great. I just don’t like that it’s requiring my brain in the process.

Good game but. Good game until you get to city 2, you must get certain hero’s to be able to progress or you get stuck in a never ending loop. And to get the hero I require I have to use money, and even then I’m not guaranteed to get the hero I need. Please fix this feature somehow.

Honestly a good game, until…. This game is good. It’s a great pass time and I enjoy the relaxing nature of it. I enjoyed unlocking the cities and building up my city. I also really enjoy the events. However, there is a point in the game where you MUST unlock heroes in order to progress any further. I’m stuck on a city and I can’t gather enough resources without either using my diamond or spending real life money, which is overpriced and just not fun or worthwhile to do. It seems as if the game is rigged so you have to use money, which is rather disappointing considering I genuinely enjoy this game. Hoping the developers fix this, or just remove the hero system in general.

Can’t Stop Playing it!!. As a survival manage game, this is really relaxed and easy to manage!! Like a entry level, good for ppl like me who love love to play this type of game but horrible to manage, I just started and I think this game will get harder and harder !! love to challenge it! Highly recommend!

Can’t load at all. Loved the game, until this afternoon when I tried to open it while I wasn’t home (thought the wifi was the problem), however, it seems to be the game itself. It won’t load and just sits on the main screen forever. If it’s not fixed at the end of the week I’ll be requesting my money back from apple. Happy to spend a little here and there, I am not happy to spend money on a game I can no longer access. Update: it’s been a few days and nothing has changed, can’t send a message to the support when the game won’t load and no response to this. I guess I’m going to ask for a refund and delete the game, disappointed.

Don’t play unless you want to spend money!. This game is addictive at first, but later on, it’s harder to build things because you need to obtain heroes and the only way is spending money or a luck on a free basic chest. Even if you already obtain the hero and upgrade them, later on it will not be enough to get survivors to work. You can try it but it gets really frustrating.

Frozen City. Great pass timing game ! Definitely one of the games I play most/everyday. However, I do wish getting the hero cards were a bit easier as you seem to get stuck more and more the further into the game you go.

Honest observations. The game is really well made it looks great. It operates brilliantly The concept is wonderful the game plays well. It does, however, have one glitch it will not give you the opportunity to get certain heroes. So certain elements of the gameplay will fail as it wants you to buy those heroes. And I hate games that I just there to make money.

Fun and exciting. I do love playing this game. The only thing is I have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling the game as when I go to play it the next day it freezes on the opening loading screen and then it doesn’t load. Otherwise the game is easy to play, you can build up your buildings in a reasonable time. Doesn’t take forever. I like to login daily and play a bit and then come back later. Sometimes it can be hard to get a purple hero. I am on 3rd city and there is 1 purple hero I still haven’t been able to collect that I need.

Crashing. Great game! I love the graphics and everything about it. But it keeps crashing(I think that’s what it is). The game keeps closing itself and it means I can’t progress in the game and it sorta ruins it. If that could be fixed that’d be amazing!

Great but…. This game lives up to the ad that was advertised until city 3. I need two hero’s that I just cannot get unless I spend real money and even then it’s a chance I will get them. I won’t spend real money. I love this game but I’m stuck. I’m about to give up because I just can’t get any further. Please fix it

Version 1.7.1. Such a terrible update… every building you visit it glows the unlocked spots for workers , yet the game makes it impossible to gain hero cards and upgradable resources, it definitely makes it pay to win , there’s countless levels why do you make it so hard to excel. Moving around your city in the new update blurs your workers for no reason, makes it harder to see who’s working/tired/hungry. Decent game overall but the new update and making hero’s hard to upgrade which means countless workers not doing anything to help is a dragggg

Can’t get past the loading screen with new update.. Title says it all. Otherwise, great game. If you persevere, you don’t need to pay for anything. Like most idle games, quick off the bat and easy, then a little while in it slows down and you need to collect and forget for a while. The events are cool though and can play for hours.

Deliberate paywall. If you search by 1 star reviews there is a common issue. There is a paywall once you hit the third base. You will not get one of the heroes you need and it will require you to buy it to progress. To give the game a fair shake I played for over 2 weeks opening 2-3 crates a day using ad views and points from daily quests, and I never got the hero. Now after reading other reviewers I see why. If you like handing over real money for mindless grind games go right ahead. But I won’t give money to games that maliciously set you up to fail.

Monthly Payments. I really do love this game so much but I just wish, like other idle games that you can buy a one off purchase to get double rewards or a longer offline time. I think having to pay $20 a month for it is too much ☹️

city 3 is not that bad. I didn’t have the epic hero for the steel or the one for the machinery for 9 hrs yet I beat city 1, city 2, and city 3 within two days And I am not p2w, just do the events and your good

Good game but…... Good game and enjoy playing but as others have said it’s hard without access to the required heroes. I’m on city 3 and already run into pay wall. It is possible to grind but it lessons the enjoyment from the game. Can’t even buy the heroes as anything purchased is a chance reward. Developers, you will make more money if you allow heroes to be purchased directly🤷

Boring and money grabbing. How are people rating this game so highly????? All they are is money grabbing as you can’t advance without spending money. And the special events they have well let’s just say they are lacking. The creative team clearly have no creative spark as they keep running the exact same 4 special events which make the game boring as hell!!!!

This game started fun but have your wallet ready. The game had promise, which is why it’s rated so high but some recent decisions by the developers have very much shifted this to a pay to play game, and it’s not a reasonable pay model by any imagination. Polished game, poor support, bad roadmap from the developers. You choose if this is right for you.

Best building game out there.. I’ve been with this game since it’s initial launch. Found it through an ad on another game and decided to join (why not ey?). Some review here say they dislike how you have to spend money to progress as the game slows down progressively - and while this can be true, Frozen City offers a unique incentive with its game play. Despite the levels slowing down and getting harder, their regular (and great) events speed things up again. While your main city plods along you still get to feel like you’re playing at a fast pace and the beauty of the events are they give you rewards, and generous rewards at that. I’ve never played a more generous, thoughtful game on my phone that offers surveys for gameplay and genuine, quick responses to feedback in the form of updates (rather than just acknowledgement). I recommend Frozen City whole-heartedly. I can’t see myself ever deleting it!

Aggravated animal abuse in events. You mind having events that don‘t include aggravated animal abuse? Not sure where the company’s stance is, however if you’re really against animal abuse, you mind just talking about how disgusting animal abuse is, rather than having to include the aggravated abuse in the event? It is honestly disgusting, we won’t be joining this event now.

The Demise of Summer Hoval.. The game is nothing but a slog, with unnecessary and infuriating mechanics to give the game “substance”. It could've been something decent but is just a massive downgrade of an immensely watered-down version of Frostpunk. Devs don't even hide it hogging the title Last Autumn in their ads as if their entire game’s concept comes from a game that actually did the heavy lifting. Shout out my boys at 11 Bit Studios. Can't wait for Frostpunk 2.

The hero mechanics. The game is good but I hate the hero mechanics. It’s so annoying when u finish the first 2 chapters which is bassically the tutorial. For e.g I have collected every single hero where I’m up to except one. And when I get free chests it’s always ones I already have. Plz make when u open chest it gives u the hero u don’t have then it gives what u already have.

Very good game but very expensive. In my opinion it’s a great game but I have to go idle for a quiet long time as things are very expensive and getting the things are very slow or not a lot comes out other than that game highly recommended

Decent game but tries to force purchases. Yeah it’s a fun game for about the first 2/3 cities then you no longer get the guaranteed heroes you need to actually run any of the bases in the city. I’ve been trying for like 4 days and I haven’t gotten a single of the 2 heroes I need to run the bases in game so I can actually progress. The loot boxes are overly expensive same with all in-app purchases for the game and you can’t really progress or do anything without the heroes. I’m going to give this game a few more days but I definitely won’t be spending a cent on it. 1 star because of how much it tries to push in-app-purchases

Enjoyable. A current problem is that none of the ads play, I just get a blank screen, making it impossible to get the rewards!! But I really like this game. It is possible to progress without paying but it takes a while. I play the event games while I wait.

Alright game, but it is sometimes pay to win. Have to manage your time and resources.. I’m up to city 10, the Oil Rig, and i’ve noticed that the cities with Hunter’s Cabins as the food source are a bit harder to maintain a consistent food supply if your heroes are not high level. I’m mid to late stage of this city, and i’ve just got my hero to level 60 to finally keep in net positive of food supply for 48 survivors. The hunter cabin is maxed out so i will have to now pay diamonds to level up my hero more when i upgrade the last 4 cabins for 8 more survivors. Having growable food sources as the staple is easier to keep up with the number of survivors you accumulate. To help manage this, i’d appreciate having the food production vs expenditure show up in the statistics list like coal, iron etc. does, maybe have its own tab. Please Devs?

Pay blocks. Game is good however Once you reach city 3 you’re pretty much stuffed without buying unless you wait like 1 week or so to build up I can already see city 4 being a dead pay wall With little to no advancement I would suggest instead of blocking players from the progression why not add extra skins or features?

Was a great game. This game was fantastic, as per early reviews you could enjoy in downtime, but not necessary to play continuously. Fantastic. And in app purchases were available but not necessary. I’ve played for nearly 6 months. Today I deleted the game, tactics changed causing hunger in survivors and the response from the frozen team was that this was to entice more constant game play. Also things that before came with natural game play (eg building accomodation and getting new survivors)…now require in app purchases. I have spent over $50 in app purchases because I like to support good games. But demanding in app purchases and increased screen time, bu changing the game from how you started out. No good team frozen. Very disappointed

Forces you to pay to get anywhere. By the 3rd city, progress has gotten so slow that things get really boring. And that’s on purpose, as they want you to pay to speed up gameplay. Don’t be fooled by how quickly you complete the 1st and 2nd cities, that won’t last. Honestly, better not to waste your time with it at all. Really frustrating.

Pay to play. Without spending real money you get to a certain point that you do not have the right hero’s to continue. It becomes a literal standstill. Great game but make it easier to get the cards to you need and not force people to use their money. It is a fun game but not worth that

Fun daily game. This game has become the game I play to unwind on my breaks throughout the day. I have a busy life - three kids and I’m studying psychology - so I want to have something fun waiting when I sit down for coffee. I like the mini events for the extra materials I get afterward and the quicker pace for progress. It also helps me be more patient for the slower progress in the main event. The fact it doesn’t always have something to do is something I’m grateful for because then I don’t get lost in the game and have a natural break to help me close the game and wait for more treasure to build up for my next unwind time. I also love that they ask for feedback - it makes me feel more involved.

Please update!. I LOVE this game but there’s a couple of things I very much dislike: 1. You get stuck on levels or can’t make any progress because you can’t level up your hero’s. you barely get any red gems or cards to level them up. 2.You have the option to spend money to get gems to level them up but it costs so much to get gems then use them to level up. 3. Holiday pass: I love the idea of the holiday pass and hope they’ll continue to do it! I bought the pass but it only goes to level 50. I still complete the challenges and tasks but I can’t get anymore rewards. 4. I haven’t completed the previous travellers journals so I wish there was an option to do so

Amazing. I’ve never had a problem

Could be great. Not a free to play game, if you want to survive (let alone thrive) you need to be extraordinarily lucky or spend a lot ($10+ per level). Each level adds characters unnecessarily just to require you to buy new ones. Why can’t my cook/doctor from the last level continue in the next level? Why do I have a ton of extra of the character I haven’t seen in 2 levels but can’t get the character used in the last 3 levels? Started very promising but became very irritating.

Cant even play normally without spending money. Such a boring game and a rip-off.

Rewards are too few/far between. The game is impossible for any forward progress without having to purchase coins, gems, and diamonds. I just let my people die and play when I have time. You don’t ever feel like there’s a victory in any situation or city.

I like it. I played it ever since it came out, and I like playing it quite a bit.

Hero system is bricked to make you pay. The current hero system blocks progress early in the game. City 3 takes about 10x times to complete vs. cities 1 and 2. On City 4, things get worse as not only you’re missing 1 vital hero (that you wont be able to get unless you pay), but you have almost ALL heroes blocked by a paywall gimmick. The chest system is also to be reviewed as it always aims towards the lowest possible rewards. I thought this game was made by honest developers who didn’t want to make a paywall based game, but I was wrong when I progressed ever so slightly. Please review the hero system and rewards system as they do not allow proper progress in this game’s current version.

Max. Haven’t seen or started the real game yet, not been able to participate in the only addicting mini temporary games this app has to offer which is the event games. How many days will it take me to fill up my 2nd new beginning town? I refuse to move forward until all my levels are at max.

Great game, but. I’m currently at the 4th city and here are my observations. I am not planning to keep playing though. Here is why. This game is amazing regarding the concept and the design but it needs improvements for the mechanics. The first 2 cities are ok and you need a bit of patience and that’s fine. It gets tricky after. You don’t have to pay but the free options are crappy. You can watch a video - but only every 8 hours - to get new cards or gems. These videos don’t necessarily give what you need to move forward. Then you wait 8 hours again. In the meantime, your survivors are dying and rioting and you can do absolutely nothing but hope to get a hero card eventually. If you want to pay, the options are : 1- spend about 15$ to get enough gems 2- buy a hero card pack That still doesn’t guaranty you will get the cards you need. My suggestions : I would make it possible to watch videos more often, find new ways to give us hero cards or red gems and reduce the cost of buying gems.

Great game. Love this game but bug after update

Good concept and it ends there. The game concept is great, but the events a terrible unless you spend a lot of money. The option to remove adds is way over priced with a permanent payment option to remove them. Then the heroes get ridiculously difficult to upgrade. I played through 10 maps and I can promise the current mechanics do not make this game worth playing unless you plan to spend about $120 a month. To allow you to properly play the events and remove the adds. That is all you get for that money.

Really fun. It’s it’s a really cool game

A Struggle Against Pay-to-Win Mechanics. Obtaining heroes without using real money is incredibly difficult. The game heavily leans towards pay-to-win mechanics, making progress frustrating for free-to-play players

Takes super long. This app basically becomes a waiting game when you get to higher levels. It’s also impossible to get hero’s cards which makes your wait time even longer + waiting around on resources to build up so you can finally upgrade literally one thing.

Frozen City. This app was very fun and almost addicting in the start. Very fun, love how the idle feature works. Now time for the thing that ruined it for me, I’m on abandoned mine level, and you need Arthur, I haven’t gotten him yet, as of this post, and my city can’t function without him, since he is the source of coal. Very disappointed with how everything came to this.

Fun game but impossible to get cards. You won’t be able to move forward or progress if you don’t pay . It’ll take a long time to earn enough diamonds to buy 350 diamond chests to obtain the next card . Deleted it pretty after a few days . It was a great concept though

Good game but issues. Heroes make the game impossible to progress and enjoyable please make heroes easier to get

After playing 1 year. So I have played for just over a year.. I am on city zone 19, so here are my thoughts. Game play dose not change after first city, rinse and repeat forever. They added the events but they are basically the same as the city play. Don’t bother trying to get in the top 3, I saved all crystals for 4 months, and spent around 6500 on one event, was way up on the leaderboard then within an hour I was 4th, which after a year of playing I don’t see as possible of somebody surpassing that fast. I suspect the company places bots to displace players, hoping they then buy more gems. Or people have found a way to cheat. Anyway stay clear not worth your time.

Great game but expensive. This is a great game. Very enjoyable. The only thing is that it way too expensive to pay to play. I understand thats how free games need to keep the light on but as an example, they just added a season pass and it costs 30$. Thats wayyyyy to expensive for a season pass even with this economy. Especially when you see wayyy more impressive and popular games that graphically look better and have more fun game mechanics that have a season pass that cost only 10$. Lets be clear, this is not an RPG or a shooter or a pvp game, its an idle game lol Hope developers read this and adjust their pricing, because if its more than 2 to 7$ to progress greatly, im not opening my wallet.

Good but... Really fun pass time but unfortunately I didn’t listen to the other review regarding the unlocking of hero’s. takes wayyyyy to long you have to wait 8hrs for a “chance “ to win these hero’s you get 1-2 every 2 hrs and without their heros you can’t level up. basically the game leaves you at a stand still I’m on ice lake. the one before that already had me almost delete it. I’m at that point again :/

Sooo good. It’s like Soo good

Animals !. I thought that it was funny game but when I start to play evil fur factory section , the concept was awful as we should kill wolf and bear and other animals in the farm! I'm not vegan but it makes me uncomfortable specially when I should select factory and hear a wolf hawl !

Love it, but... the game was super fun in the beginning when u didn’t need heroes , I feel like it ruined the game .

Lixo!.

Good game if you want to pay. Game is great except you can’t progress through the different cities (past first two) unless you buy packs to get heroes; even then you don’t necessarily get the hero you need. Game progresses painfully slow when you don’t have the correct hero because it limits the amount of workers you can have at the different work areas within the village. Very frustrating. I am more likely to make in app purchases that enhance game play rather than in app purchases that are necessary to progress. Should have an outright purchase option that fully unlocks all heroes.

Great game, but. It is really nice game, graphics, gameplay and story etc. And it does make you connected and improve your cities easily; until the 3rd or 4th city. After 3rd city some heroes, heroes you need the most for production don’t show up. And you can’t buy them directly either. That slows down the production and game. Then it just becomes let’s wait for products to fill up and hope for a chest that will give the heroes. They need to fasten for heroes otherwise it get boring after 2nd city.

Fun Until You Need Heroes. Please make it easier to get heroes. I am at a standstill in Plain City because I am at my max number of upgrades without more workers, which I need heroes for. It’s very frustrating. I like the game, but I will be uninstalling due to not being able to advance without purchasing items in game.

Anything good is erased by a fur factory mini game. This game is fun, but the inclusion of a mini game focused on raising animals and killing them for their fur is so outdated and out of touch. I deleted it immediately. Seriously, adding a fur farm as a fun little mini game?? No thanks.

Ripoff. The game is clearly just a ripoff of frost punk and is a cash grab

Fun but,. By the third city… you can see they try to force you to pay for hero cards otherwise it makes the game super hard to advance through cities! I know it cost money to make apps but more options to possibly watch ads for the things you need like hero cards or red gems would be nice!

To many tutorials. Honestly from the cost to play this game alone annoys me but come on i know how to play the game why do i have to do a tutorial for every single side game. This game sucks

Lighten up. I get that rare cards are rare, but when one is required for a crucial part of the build and it never shows up, it really makes it a grind. Don’t get me wrong, I know you offered this game for free and hope for in-app purchases. Rare does not mean impossible. Raise the rare card chance in boxes. Or have it available in earnings from tasks when a character is required in the map.

Early Paywall. The game was great for the first “city”. Was basically as advertised. Then when you get into the next city you need to acquire “heroes” in order to have production. These are obtained through chests you can open, but there are rarity cards and basically these are obtained through gems (buy with cash) or with cash. I am on city 3 and now have a huge bottle neck because for the past week I cannot get the “hero” that I need in order to produce more of a certain good. Extra slots for production are locked behind the “hero” level requiring you to wait to get enough cards to upgrade them or to buy them. I will be uninstalling this game, which is too bad as I really liked the concept and the gameplay.

Frustrating. The game was fun at first, but as you progress through the levels it becomes almost impossible to keep moving through without spending a lot of money for the various pieces you need to make any progress. Then even when you do spend the money, most of the time you don’t even get the things you need and just end up with multiples of things you don’t need. It starts to feel like a money scam after a certain point which has me ready to be done with it. Too bad, because it was really fun at first.

Frostpunk?. This is pretty much a shameless rip of the PC game galled Frostpunk. Except in that game there isn’t paywalls lol

Hard to advance. I actually like the game itself. I like the tasks set forth. However, the reason for the one star is because I’m unable to advance as you need specific heroes to get more people assigned to each place. Currently, I have two spots that require heroes that I would have had to buy the special pack for. I am not able to get them in the store with the gems I’ve earned. I would have only been able to get it by spending real money. The free packs you get are only every 8 hours. So far, I haven’t gotten either hero I need. You can’t keep up like this. My suggestion would be to allow to get the necessary heroes and give a buy option to have them maxed out. That way people can choose to buy or not. And/or provide special packs more often than 8hrs

To bad they are so greedy. I like the game and could be persuaded to buy some In game features. That said, I’m a day or so away from deleting it as it’s too focused on big price items that should be attainable in game play.

Fun. Learn to calculate and be patient.

Pay to keep progressing. It’s all fun and interesting until you start getting stuck in the third city where a hero card will be forever missing unless you pay - a single card missing in one building creates a bottleneck in the production chain, meaning you cannot move forward. This isn’t pay to win, it’s pay to play - just be upfront about it.

Just for the events!. I play this all the time, but only for the events. I find the base game to be ok and nothing special; I rarely spend my time there. The events make the game fun and incorporate more challenge.

Trash. Trash. Trash trash asf, waste of time viewing ads

Kicking me out.. This game sucks!

Good but room for improvement.. The game itself is pretty fun, and progresses reasonably well but there are some issues I have: 1) the cash shop is badly over priced with no alternatives to the outrageously expensive subscription. They want nearly $13/week for no ads, bonus build slots, and bonus offline time (from 2h normal to 8h extended). This adds up to over $600/year. It is absolutely not worth the price they are asking for. 2) their short events can be extremely difficult to progress in unless you pay the aforementioned annual cost of $600/year. Seriously, that’s more than I pay for my streaming services. The build times in these events are frequently very long too. If I got 3 days and two build slots why is it taking 20-30 minutes to upgrade? 3)a good thing however is no forced ads. You CAN watch them for a reward unless you have $600/year extra in your budget to skip them, but they never require you to watch one and there is no interstitial ads. 4) another good thing is it’s a solo game. Too many of these games demand team play and that takes the casual aspect out of the game. I adore that I don’t have to play on teams and play frequently to stay on said team or risk losing days worth of resources. 5) It is hard to level up heroes without paying, and even if you do pay there is no guarantee of getting the hero you needed. This creates an extremely frustrating block even early on where you cannot level your hero's, and so you cannot assign people to work places. I feel this system either needs to be removed and the hero's are instead attached only to the adventure aspects, or they need to be easier to get. There’s one I haven’t got who is needed for a critical survival component. It has been 4 months and I still don’t have him. Tl;dr this game is fun and it’s okay, but it has the potential to be incredible if the developers tone down their greed just a little.

good game. just wanna say, pretty satisfying game. upgrade are not abusing long and the mini games every 2-3 days make it better. I'm almost more accro at the mini-game than principal one, but it help play the main so I like it allot. One desagriment would be that sometimes it depend on card win randomly, that slow your game alot and when you get the cards its became to easy for the uprades. So I almost wait more on leveling up the building than have the things to level up them (after you win the cards)

I like it. So gooood!

Fun but too much drain on the battery. The game itself is fun but the power the game draws kills the battery in a way I haven't seen since the release of PokemonGo. PokemonGo fixed those issues, this game needs to be fixed too.

fun at first but VERY DISAPPOINTED. i was amazed by this game, until I reached higher level. when you start a new village, food \ carbon are a problem because the hero isn’t available or too low and you can’t produce the food, and the villagers die.. SO, you have to pay for the hero or impossible upgrade of heroes. if not, it is impossible to succeed in that game. MONEY MONEY MONEY.. GREEDY game\dev. Furthermore, the monthly fees are ridiculously high. i am rally disappointed… don’t bother install this game thank you

Devs are money grabbers. I was enjoying the game very much until I got to the 3rd location, where I have not yet pulled a character I need. I’ve opened many boxes to no avail but they are so nice to offer me a $5 deal for the character but that’s not why I play mobile games I hate buying things instead of earning them it’s lazy game design and it’s a huge discount for the player. Another thing in my hunt for this character I had been saving up 700 gems hoping to buy the highest rarity chest but I saw a Easter challenge that seems like it could be more beneficial but to my surprise with their being 16 prizes I was sure that I could win something good with 45 yes 45 rolls but no I landed the 2 worst things 40 times this game had so much potential but it is ruined by greedy devs that don’t care about the enjoyment of the player they care about how deep their pocket goes happy Easter you Scamming scum bags.

I’ve enjoyed it, but after a certain point it’s impossible. It’s fun, the mini games are cool. It’s not as interactive as I thought it would be from the ads but it’s still enjoyable up to a certain point in the game. Once you progress enough there is no way to advance. I’m at Snowcap Castle and I’ve played on this level for a few weeks now and everyone is constantly dying because I haven’t gotten the hero card to unlock the greenhouse. There’s only one person unlocked, collecting 41.9 potatoes and the initial cost of cooking one meal is 700 potatoes. One meal. It’s become almost pointless to continue with the main gameplay since there’s no way to advance except praying day after day for a miracle. I’ve put a lot of time into this game and am sad to part with it but if this doesn’t change I have to quit for my own mental well-being.

Don’t open on more than 1 device. This seems like a old school problem but I have the game downloaded on two different devices (iPad & iPhone) I play mostly on my iPhone but they’re both signed into the same account. The other day I decided to open it on my iPad. It gave me a server error and closed down the app. When I restarted it, I had lost all my progress from 2 weeks of consistent playing and all the diamonds and resources I had gained from events. I’m assuming that because I don’t play on my iPad as much, when I opened it, it forced the last session played to be the current level. I’m strongly considering rage quitting. I feel like this shouldn’t be the case. I am signed into the same account why isn’t seamless?!

Latest update to user interface removed too much. I like this game. It gives a mix of playing, events and ads that works well. What I don’t like is when I cannot complete an event without being forced to spend money on at least one upgrade. I will watch ads to get additional coins and things and yet still be forced to buy something in order to complete? That seems stupid to me. Money comes from ads too. The latest update removed all the stats panels where you could see how much of an item is being produced. I also lost the ability to see how many people are assigned to what buildings and switch them around if needed in a quick manor. Both screens are not even an option anymore and were super useful. I am hoping this is a glitch on my phone, but it coincided with “updates user interface” so I am guessing it was a planned removal.

Love it, just one issue. I absolutely love this game, usually i just install, get tired of, then get rid of idle games, but this one I absolutely love, can’t barely put it down, I really like the balancing act around 3-4 areas but i have one issue, the cards for new characters are far too hard to get, I can’t afford to spend money to buy them and out of the probably 20 cards I’ve gotten so far in this area not one is a new one that I actually need, it makes progress slow, i have the farm maxed out but it literally can’t produce enough food for only 12 survivors, there are at least 12 more beds I can’t buy because the survivors will just die and strike over and over, I feel like for every little bit of progress i make, my survivors die and i just start ticking backwards.

Good game to pass the time. I’ve been playing this game for a while and it’s pretty good except after a while it gets to hard to get the hero cards and red stars to upgrade them, I’m on the 11th village and I should be having 23 workers but I only have 6 because my hero’s need multiple cards and red stars to upgrade them and I’m not getting them from the free chests or the chests with adds. I’ve spent some money on diamonds but I stopped because even with enough resources to upgrade and build the buildings it’s nothing without upgrades to the heroes in order to have enough workers my people keep dying and going on strike and then in order to negotiate you still need upgraded the heroes. I mainly play the mini games because the main city is at a standstill.

Sets you up to fail. Initially I was really enjoying this game and played it obsessively for the first few days. After completing a certain set of tasks survivors move on to a different city/camp. When you make it to the third camp “Plain City” you will rely heavily on iron to progress through the game. However, you can only have one survivor working in the iron mine until you receive the Arthur hero card. After completing about half of the tasks required for Plain City I still have not been able to get the Arthur card through completing tasks and it seems I would have to spend about $5.00 to purchase a pack that MIGHT give me the Arthur hero card. I got to the point where I couldn’t progress any further and survivors demands were outweighing the resources I could provide due to the iron mine road block. I’m not giving money to an app that sets me up to fail.

Progress is slow. The game is just slow enough to make you frustrated enough to want to spend money to speed things along but not slow enough that it makes you quit altogether. The events are pointless because they make you wait 2-3 days for a new event to start but the events only last from what I’ve seen so far, 8 hours to 15 hours to maybe a day and a half. But people want to be first so badly that they spend a lot of real money to essentially get nothing real in return. Heroes are hard to get and upgrade, which you need to be able to make enough resources to keep playing or to make them strong enough for the random adventure/battle aspect. It was a fun time waster but now progress is so slow that I open the app, maybe play for less then 5 minutes and then move onto something else.

Weird set up. I think the game itself could be worth 5/5 starts, but what's with not having any type of access to winning more hero cards or being able to upgrade them an easier way? You can go on the battles yea sure, but you can't win like any of the little red things that help upgrade a hero. It just doesn't make any sense. And they def got me in the beginning cause i started actually purchasing more diamonds so i could just buy myself out and upgrade what i needed but now i just deleted the app cause I can't even upgrade my little frozen city without these heros ... idk i started looking forward to the mini side cities you can play cause they were easier achievements and when they weren't at least it was fun!

awesome but. its a great game! the developers are open to feedback, do updates often and the game is fun! ive been playing for a while and have made it to world 9 and have come to a pretty hefty halt as upgrading your heros is becoming more difficult and earning new ones are held behind micro-transactions (you Could get it from a chest but its rare). because of this, the flow that ive had has considerably decreased and very quickly learning that this will likely be the first time my village revolts bc i cannot sustain resources for them. i will keep going a little but longer for the events bc i like them but i am likely going to delete the game if i cant make any more progress.

Fun but expect to be hindered. This is a really fun resource management game, at least, the first two levels are. I’m currently on the 3rd level and I’m having trouble progressing because of the ridiculous system to get heroes that open up worker slots. The system being luck? Paying real $$$ for characters? I don’t know what to call it. Safe to say that if I don’t manage to open random boxes with the two heroes that I’m missing, I’m ditching the app. I appreciate the requirement of the heroes and how their presence can improve production and effect gameplay (mini game is great) but if the system is going to require their presence, it should be possible to get them somehow! Perhaps using diamonds or watching ads, not what is currently in place that is so utterly frustrating.

Frozen City. I try not to leave reviews on a game, but I’ve been playing this particular one for almost a week and I’m pretty satisfied with the graphics, performance and gameplay. You guys definitely did your thing in this game. Salute!!! This is thus far the best strategy game out. I’m in Plain City and short One Hero to overlook the workshops. I’ve watched the ads in hoping I will get this last Hero. But as usual I don’t. Resources are alright but it makes it harder to achieve certain goals or objectives when you need that last part. More events should be included as well in my opinion. Grandpa Farms was pretty cool. Overall, no complaints and keep up the good work.

8/10. Game is fun up until the 3rd city, where it becomes VERY grindy. It takes forever to get resources if you don’t have the specific hero unlocked. Also you can only upgrade 2 buildings at a time, which doesn’t seem bad, until you have to wait 30 minutes per building 💀 The best part of the game is the events, which gives you a LOT of rewards! This makes the grinding not as bad, but you’re still stuck waiting to upgrade buildings. You can get tickets to shorten the wait (or gems) but they are hard to get and only remove 3 minutes.. I like the mission system, you get rewards for completing upgrades or buildings. You can also get gems from completing surveys.

Login get supplies, log out, repeat. As with many games, the initial levels of this game were loads of fun for me. I was engaged, I enjoyed the game, the rewards were exciting, there was _stuff to do_. But very quickly, those all ran out. Now, I log into the game every two(ish) hours to quickly get stuff. Then log out. I don’t even bother looking at anything in the game because I know I can’t afford to upgrade anything rewarding yet. I’m currently stuck hoping that a hero will show up on my random rewards. I need one hero in the city I’m currently in. The factory the hero will sit in has one worker (out of 8 possible) because they are all locked until I get that stupid hero. I let the ads play, so I do my part in supporting this developer. But I’m about three logins away from deleting the game because I am bored of the mindless unfulfilling grind.

Fun but expensive. I enjoy the game, but it gets quite frustrating that the heroes limit you so drastically and are both a pain to get and to upgrade unless you repeatedly buy in. Monthly subscription hits are absurd as well just to do things like remove ads. Definitely a pass on spending for this game. Also, somehow with a fully upgraded dining area, hero, and full employees, half my village is routinely starving. Not to mention being required to have up to 20 villagers who can’t work anywhere because the heroes are so overpriced (game currency and real money) just to clear the villages. Update: fast but lousy customer support. They apparently think customers can go back in time to record videos of past events and close tickets without any resolution. Awesome job, guys.

Very addictive and fun game but. Hi, This is actually a very fun game, I love it. The only issue is I won’t spend a penny on it as cities keep changing. I don’t know something about this modern games which can’t stick to just one city. If I have only one city and it grows exponentially I will buy stuff and grow it larger and bigger. But over here if I spend a penny on one city I know next day that city won’t matter cuz I am gonna be working on the next city. So it gets a 4 star from me. Sim city, city tycoon all modern fun games have the same problem they can’t stick to one city and make us play several cities infact this game goes even one step further where you don’t care about your past city and work a new city next day.

Gets very pay to play quick.. The game was super fun and the one thing I enjoyed in the first two cities was you earned enough diamonds to get packs occasionally but it didn’t feel like you needed to be pay to play. Now, in the third city, you can’t have a second iron mine worker unless you have the purple hero associated with it and after 5 days of pulling dozens of blue and multiple purple and gold hero boxes, the RNG is so bad that the purple guy hasn’t been acquired and the game is just at halt right now. Only being able to make 300 iron because you’re limited to one worker when upgrades take hundreds of thousands of iron just makes the game crawl at a snails pace. And all you can do is keep paying real money for a seemingly 1% chance to hit this character.

Could be better, but not bad.. I enjoy this game. Maybe 2 hours into play (3rd city) and it’s pretty fun. Like some other people though, i have my frustrations. There’s a fair amount of bugs (I reopen the game after 2 hours and i’m missing materials that should’ve been produced over time), (I upgrade dorms to max level and people are still tired) etc. The hero thing will definitely get frustrating over time, where in your buildings are useless if there’s no hero and it takes about 1.5 millennia to unlock them (unless u dump $ into the game (which like, come on dawg)). Overall, could be better. Solid entertainment for 3 hours but i’ll probably delete once it feels too grimy like clash of clans.

Overall, good game. Slow moving though and irrelevant items sometimes.. I just spent 350 diamonds to get the purple box. I got a hero that I can’t even use right now and I’m pretty disappointed in that. I took the survey to get enough diamonds for said box and would’ve put this comment in there too had I known what I know now. Also I don’t like how slow this can be at times. I wish when they were sleeping it would go a bit faster. Overall though the game looks nice, holds my attention and I like the mini games with the hero’s and their adventures. The amount of ads is great too, I like that that don’t force me to watch them, but still have that option if I do want something extra. I’d like to see some customization In the future!

Travelers Journal Event. The game is good I would have given 4 but this recent event really rubbed me the wrong way. I have 8/9 pieces for three of the ten pictures. It’s as if it’s an obvious cash grab. I only got three pictures completed. I would’ve loved to see what the other journal texts were but f—k me right? I’m already on Frost City and I’ve yet to get enough gems for a gold chest because I’ve had to pour most of the gems I earned for free into this event and 90% of the packs I opened with 15 days left were duplicates. I’m stuck with 298 puzzle coins now and even if I didn’t spend my first hundred for 50 leather pieces I wouldn’t have enough for a random piece I don’t have. Even then I doubt it would’ve given me a piece I need to finish a picture in the journal. I hate how this event turned out to be.

Unpopular opinion…. This game is SOOO much fun! I adore idle games like this. There are not many ads which I greatly appreciate. Everyone is unsatisfied with the heros and how hard it is to obtain them, but I actually love that part. It adds a sense of challenge to the game and it makes the game take even longer to beat. Because I love this game so much, I want it to take as long as possible! Sure, the hero thing is very annoying but there are many events that take place where you can earn the cards you need for the base game! Everything about frozen city is just amazing. The graphics, the music, the story line, the cute little details in the houses and buildings, AH I just love it! 5 well deserved stars! Really should check it out!!

Its okay.. becomes slow. The game is fun but it becomes really grindy on the third world. Go from like 20 challenges to over 110. You can’t unlock worker slots without getting the heros and upgrading them to a certain level which is taking days right now. Once you unlock the hero you have to get them to level 11 which you have to battle for, which also becomes really grindy and difficult. But you find the hero is level capped at ten and you have to collect a bunch of rare, time sensitive resources to even have a chance of unlocking higher levels. THEN you can upgrade beyond ten, but wait… it’s now capped at twenty! The survival aspect is really easy, i haven’t had a challenge there at all. The challenge is how to navigate the pay to win culture to actually enjoy the game.

Have to pay to advance. The game is great. very aesthetically pleasing, the survivors manageability and the resource management is a fun aspect to the game. one major downside. you literally struggle if you don’t pay money, like what? you have to get hero’s to utilize the jobs to the fullest but when you have 4 open machine slots but can add any survivors because you have to pay to get the hero, it’s painstakingly slow. if you’re gonna make your game free to play, it’s story should be free too. i’ve gone through many many “wait 8 hours for next free chest” just to get the same useless hero card instead of actually progressing. i know i won’t get the hero i need from the free chest but it’s worth the shot… to not pay money for a FREE game. let’s just call it not a free to play story :)

UPDATE CITY 3. For real the only thing keeping me playing is because the events are basically the same thing as the normal game but faster paced. If it were JUST the base game; I’d undownload because the way city 3 is set up and the dependency on heroes is ATROCIOUS. The way you have me not being able to ADD workers to jobs because I don’t have some random chick as a hero since she never seems to be in any of the chests I receive nor anyone ELSES FOR THAT MATTWR, is annoying beyond words. The game was fun until y’all started pullin this. Fix it. Or you’re gonna lose so many people from playing all because you won’t let them progress😑 you can ignore this or write off these complaints all you want but it’s a problem and you know it so why not just take the few extra minutes to admit “oh this isn’t very fair to players” and fix it instead of just sitting there doing nothing all day.

Cash grab. Yeah, it is like FrostPunk so I gave it a try. It was ok for a day. After you get past the first area your production gets severely limited due to wether or not you have specific heroes. You can only assign an amount of survivors to a building that is unlocked with your hero (specific to each building). You get some starter heroes for free through progression, but a lot aren’t given for free. You can try your luck with unlocking them in the store though! But you won’t be able to buy anyone specific unless they’re running a deal on them. I got to a point where I had 6 buildings out of 7 that I didn’t have the heroes for. You know, the typical mobile game stuff. I almost gave it 1 star, but they have surveys in the game which makes me think that they at least want to improve with their feedback.

Loved this game until Plain City. I love how fast this game seems to move, so far I’ve been having a lot of fun. I normally get really bored of games like this but I think I ran into a little bit of a bug and it’s kind of driving me crazy. So, for reference on this, I have 3.16m iron block, 500k cylinders, and 10,000 iron. Now I should have been able to upgrade my iron LONG ago, but I can’t get Arthur (the hero for the iron mine) no matter what I do. I’m not spending $7 to unlock a basic function of the game, and it’s gotten to the point now where I cant upgrade anything because I need iron to make iron blocks, and my block production is SO MUCH faster than the iron that I just stay around 5,000 iron at all times. I kinda want to delete the game but I’m hoping I open a chest one of the days and get Arthur. I guess the point of this is, I want Arthur. The end!

Great game but…. Grate game but it becomes almost impossible to play. I give to it 3 stars because even when it haves great design, mechanics, gameplay and graphics, not only asks for way more data than a game should (data linked to you) but also abuses of the hero figure: there are parts where you cannot proceed without actually buying the hero pack. I mean, it is ok to profit from what you have developed, but many other companies have achieve a working balance between paid users, ads and free users. This is not the case. The game caught me for real, I enjoyed while it last, but I recently deleted because that particular aspect, even been a person of patience, there are other games that allows more playability and earns the customer decision to spend some money in it.

Darn. I really enjoyed this game up until all of the sudden I need different hero’s instead of the ones I had been using. The amount of food you need to make meals is RIDICULOUS especially since they grow the food SUPER slow as well. You should stick with the meat it was better! Then in order to upgrade the food growth you have to upgrade the furnace. Which takes away the free energy supply. Then your stuck with 2 people making all the coal which requires more coal then the 2 can produce. I did very rarely see ad’s for supplies but never any for food. We already have expensive food in real life. Can the food cost less in the game 😭 I’m not trying to starve in game and in real life 🤣

Fun but you hit a wall early on. It is a fun survival game where you collect resources, assign people, level up buildings and repeat. If it wasn’t for below it would definitely get 5 stars. Unfortunately by area 3-4 you hit a hard wall with your resource generators. Without the hero cards, your stuck at assigning 1 out of 6 people that can take days to collect enough for one or two levels out of 230 on a building. The daily chests seem random after area 2 so no luck getting that one card out of 15 you already have. The odds are against you the further you progress. I hope the devs implement a guaranteed missing hero card in the task rewards like in areas 1-2 for the rest of the game. It would make progression much easier.

Game is pay too win. Nothing wrong with trying too make a little money but when I got too world 3 I had too crack and spend the 8 dollars on some heroes in the game that are crucial too playing world 4 is impossible without spending money and that’s not even half the game done I think I’m done playing there previous game if I’m correct prison empire was a far better game where I actually completed it with one purchase which was nice but they stopped adding content I’m assuming bc it wasn’t making them much money 🤷🏻‍♂️ kinda sad tbh I’d rather pay a one time fee too play the game and enjoy it then chip away at my wallet and be annoyed that I NEED too spend money too complete the game or not be frustrated at least the game is listed as free too play why don’t you make it that way and not impossible without spending money

So / So. The game is fine and progression is good until the 3rd city. The game basically forces you into buying crates to get hero’s. My issue with the hero’s is that they stop you from having more workers to gain more in production. For one factory from the 2nd city I had a Hero at level 10 with 5 or so workers to now in city 3 have max 3. Once I upgrade my guy to level 15 then I’m allocated 1 more guy. The same amount of workers to hero level should carry over. Lastly, the game adds more hero’s in level 3 but you do t have there cards. Now I have 3-4 factories that can only have a max of 1-2 workers until I find that hero or buy enough crates to find it. No better than EA for micro transactions. Give the players a free way of possible earning more hero cards.

Kinda stuck.. This game is relatively fun, it’s somewhat hard to obtain a substantial amount of resources. But not obnoxiously difficult. Until I got to one point. I just got introduced to the flat sheet metal and what I’m assuming is a wrench. On my iron bar recourse building I can’t seem to figure out how to unlock a hero. So my production for that specific material is very limited. Which I’ve overtime noticed it makes it harder to finish the level. I also haven’t been able to unlock a hero for my kitchen. So I have poor quality meals. But I always have enough of them. If we could see how to unlock the hero’s that would be amazing. I know if I bought the case with real money I’d eventually get it. But that’s insane. Other than that problem. Really fun game. Great story. Challenging but not too challenging.

I want to love it. The first few cities were fun, but needing a new hero when you have one that does the same thing is ridiculous. It would be better to have the same heroes each level that you just have to upgrade throughout to get better perks. Otherwise heroes should be able to be unlocked more easily without having to spend money. It’s also built to where you have to keep the game up on your phone or your survivors will either starve or freeze to death, who has the time for that? It should be an option to start over in a city from the beginning if you want to do things differently. I get that each city is progressively harder but after the third it’s basically impossible to progress.

Heroes = Zeros. Great game… until you hit the Hero paywall. Let me explain. The game has a great concept, and it’s very fun when you start. Graphics are nice, and even has a neat little storyline. Then you come to the 3rd city, which is where you’re meant to shell out several bucks. I paid for the beginner’s pack, which gets you started with some Hero cards and diamonds, but then when you get past the tutorial cities, the game limits the amount of resources you can earn by requiring a Hero for you to hire more workers to a certain resource mine. Unless you pay, that Hero will NOT show up. I opened several boxes through task progression and the 8hr chests in the shop (plus the ad chest), and the Hero you need most will NOT come. Convenient. Love the concept of the game, but that paywall is a slap to the face, especially for players who spent money early on.

Predatory money trap. The game is nice until they introduce the concept of heroes. They time it so that the game play seems good enough. Even give you surveys in rewards for diamonds up until the fourth town (Ice lake). But as the game progresses and the towns get more difficult to complete, it just becomes really seedy. The only way to make sure you have enough resources is to get “heroes” who do nothing but walk around and “boost production”. Production for certain items become extremely limited without the use of heroes, and getting the heroes you need is a shot in the dark as it’s behind random prize boxes that shoot out whatever random item it chooses. These so called “heroes” do nothing but hinder your progress through the game. Unless you’re willing to spend real money (which you shouldn’t be) the game loses its luster really quickly. Dying citizens, outrageously priced chests, and the oh so convenient option to purchase the heroes you need just highlights how predatory this game becomes. On top of that weekly subscription options for a mobile game is a bit out there. The game loses its attraction once you realize it’s impossible to beat unless you shell out real cash. Which I understand is fine for some people, but I’d rather just pick up a new game that doesn’t attempt to trap it’s consumers into paying way too much for what they get.

Cool Game. The game is good, I love games where you have to keep a bunch of characters stats up and make sure no one dies. The game could probably stand to be more difficult by adding more elements. For example, whenever any new characters get tasked with taking on jobs they have to train before hand. I haven’t gotten that far in the game but any kind of study feature would be super cool. They could also add some customization to the game. I would love to be able to customize all my town folk. Lastly, they could implement another mini game where you could actually hunt for food or look for materials in caves and maybe add thirst along side hunger to the game.

I really did try👎🏻👎🏻. I came back to Frozen city after not playing for a few months to see if getting anywhere in the events or even the main game was feasible without spending money. Cos I mean free game means that it should be reasonably playable right? No. You need that hero to increase your output of any resource that no matter how many chests you open, you just can’t seem to get? Well spend money and then MAYBE you can get it. But don’t forget you need to spend more money so you can level them up to the point that they can supervise more than one worker. Cos there’s no way to just select the heroes or upgrade stuff you need. So instead of spending weeks trying to do all of that organically (without money) try one of the events! Plenty of rewards to get there…if you spend money. You see where I’m getting with this? Come in with expendable income or find another game.

Hidden Paywall. Ive tried it on 4 separate accounts and can confirm they have a hidden paywall. Each city has a specific character locked that they make you believe you can get from a chest, but you can open 50+ chests and wont get the character unless you spend any type of money on the game. First trial I went 28 chests without the blacksmith in the 4th city. Bought the $1 gems package, got him immediately after. Decided to run the test on other accounts and each had the same result. Went 15, 32, & 20 chests without the character, got him immediately after spending $1 on each account. Im sure it only gets worse the further you get and after reviewing the tos, this is definitely shady business practices. They have to legally mention these invisible paywalls somewhere in the ToS & they didnt mention it in any of the first 80 pages read.

My Review On Frozen City. This game is really fun and everything it is so fun to play offline and it’s easy not like the other Idle games that are really hard and go up a lot of money or materials. The only thing I wish is on every map we could have defenses around our city. Like a wall, with guards and armed guards. And people that attack every few hours or maybe 45 minutes and they try to break in. Now if they do get in they have to break the front gate or the back gate open. And if they do you would have to spend maybe 200 wood on a standard gate but on the advanced gate as you level it up, you have to spend more wood to build it back up and secure it.

Fun Game quickly becomes Frustrating. All games are gonna make attempts to incentivize paying real money but this one get pretty odious for what is a fun lil game. After you move up in cities, you get into a gridlock cause you either don’t have the necessary hero or their level is not high enough to allow you to put enough workers to keep up with production. If you want to keep people playing it wouldn’t even be hard to make it easier to justify by: 1. Making the basic loot box available 4 hours after each open instead of 8. You rarely get the card you need anyway but atleast you have more opportunity and you could even get more ads in that way. 2. In adventures, reduce adventures cleared needed from 50 to 25. You are likely only going to clear at most 10 on a good run and then you have to wait 24 hours to try again. It will still take a few days but better than waiting up to a week. 3. Make schedule for workers meals, breaks, and work time adjustable. People in their discord have argued for this but dev’s think it would make the game “hard” but would give players more freedom in how they want to can play. 4. Fix the issue where workers aren’t at stations or at mess hall when opening game. How is that still an issue?

Good for two cites then 90% flip. So I was thoroughly enjoying this game for exactly two cities, then they totally flipped the play and made it 90% more difficult UNLESS you spent money. When I find a game I like, then I want to dig in, set up shop and play for 2 hrs at a time. I’m NOT going to pay money on a game I’m this early in ti playing. So because of that after the second city I constantly have to walk away from the game for two hrs at a time to only make minuscule progress. Very Very disappointing. Was really liking but the makers got greedy. When the cut back in progress isn’t so drastic and they start offering HEROS that you actually can use to proceed then I’ll come back. But for now I’m going to delete! I don’t get game makers constantly limiting game play and making players walk away from the game. Well I’m walking for sure!

Biggest paywall yet. The game mechanics are so fun, and the variety presented is pretty expansive. Genuinely was my favorite mobile game of all time for a day or two until the p2w started. Prepare to watch your cities die because the heroes gate keeping resource production can only be gotten in sufficient quantity by forking over money for randomized loot crates. Oh and their in game currency is EXTREMELY overvalued. I laughed out loud when I saw how much they wanted for gems. Given the quality of the game if they did the whole mobile battle pass I might consider it but I’m not dropping 15 bucks just to get the cards and hero upgrade materials necessary for one city. Rebalance the game or I don’t see many people sticking around past the first two cities. The fun of the game is sucked out by what is obviously a money grab and it’s a huge letdown.

Frozen City Good until it isn’t. Downloaded this game for a road trip and for the first day or two I made it through 2 cities and it was a breeze, which was expected to pull you in. Now I’m on the 3rd world, and my expectations of the game declined drastically. I can’t hire more workers/survivors without hero’s that are accumulated through random gifted cards. These gifted cards can be repetitions of previous hero’s and other various cards that are needed in the future but are not necessarily detrimental to the survivors day to day life. I’m unable to keep my fire running due to the low production of materials along with keeping my town/village thriving. I do not plan on paying for random cards that won’t guarantee me the hero’s I need. Love the premise of the game but I will probably delete this game once I make it back home. Won’t look back.

Good for a day. The game starts so well and fun but after the second city which is a bit irritating, the game just goes into a nosedive and becomes next to impossible to move to the next level. It actually becomes so not fun that I’m deleting it after this review. You can’t get the hero’s you need to improve your buildings. The stars required for hero’s to increase are ridiculous and really ruins the game. No matter how much food you have, people are always hungry and you can’t upgrade that hero to improve the people’s condition. Such a great concept but ill thought out as far as game play. Had high hopes but just deleting it now. One good thing is no ads unless you want them. Maybe allow ads to get some of the needed resources. Don’t force ads in the middle of play though. That will make the game unplayable for anyone.

Can be better. Had this game for more than a couple of months now, im on town 15 and what i hate the most is not being able to upgrade my hero's as much, rn the level requires 85 and up and most of my hero's are stuck at 60 not from lack of cards or the yellow thing but because not enough blazing stars. Need more ways to earn blazing stars or increase the amount we get daily or during the adventures. Another thing only 2 hours ??? Thats such a short period of time. Everyday i been using the app even less because its not as fun even with all the new updates. Also theres enough food to eat but chefs wont cook or the workers wont eat unless im on the actual game which is annoying because now they might go to strike because of it.

This game is fun, at the beginning.. Don’t get me wrong, I love the concept of this game. But there comes a point where it’s nearly impossible to get hero’s. Without the hero’s, it’s practically impossible to advance any further. I understand that it’s an attempt to make the game more engaging but it’s becomes frustrating and seems more like a cash grab for you to spend money to get said heros. The advertisements are completely misleading, making you think you’re building a city from the ground up, but instead, you start at one place, and then move to another and start all over. Not to mention when you start over, the buildings need different heros, so all the time you spent getting the hero’s for the other city, it’s useless. The hero system is a good idea but they need to make it just a little easier to get them.

Thinly veiled p2p. The game is fun, or would be if it was crippled by pay-to-play mechanics. Want the “premium experience” (no ads, longer harvesting times, daily gems)? It would cost you $45 PER MONTH. No biggie, right? Just go a bit slower and watch the occasional ad, right? Not so much. Starting in city 3, your workers are locked behind premium heroes that come from loot boxes. What does this mean? Play “free” and only one of six production slots can be used and, for that one slot, those resources will be produced at a fraction of the speed as if you had the hero. I considered their “upgrades” before realizing that they’re subscriptions. Most “free” games I’ve seen ask for around $10 to remove ads forever. Frozen City wants $10 PER WEEK, but they’re nice so you can pay a discounted $20 per month if you prefer. Hard pass. Thanks.

Paywalls Abound. Look, I get it - you want to make money with your game. You shouldn’t completely stop the player from progressing unless they spend money though. It was fun for the first few of hours. The first couple levels let you get by without having to buy anything, then they start throwing in production stations that require heroes (that have to be leveled up) to even assign workers to them. You can’t get the heroes unless you buy boxes. You can’t level up the heroes unless you wait long periods of time to collect “stars”. You can go out and do combat fights to get stars but then you hit a wall of difficult enemies that forces you level your heroes which you can’t do without the stars in the first place. Oh and then to raise the level cap on the heroes you need a separate resource to do that which also costs money. $10 please! Want to keep going? $10 please! Uninstalled.

It’s been great but the bugs are really coming out. The game itself has been fun. Albeit, the other reviews are spot on when referring to how difficult it becomes to progress once you hit the 3rd city. I personally am one to spend no more than 20$ usd on games. I’m only at the 4th city and I’ve already had to do that. It is difficult to keep workshops updated and producing enough material when you have to hope and pray you’re given that heroes card to have them start working. Today I also encountered a login error. I haven’t been able to open the game and play since yesterday. I love the concept, and hope the bugs get worked out so I, and others, can continue to enjoy what you’ve built!

Costs money to play. There are “hero’s” that are needed in the game to level up places and add more workers to such places. The game doesn’t let you earn them anymore after level 2 city. It wants you to pay money for them, even if you pass the level and move onto the next city those heroes will never become available to earn. The third city starved your people since the potato cabin and kitchen require a hero that they won’t give you. So you can only have one worker making potatoes and he can’t keep up except for making only enough for 3 meals, each mealtime. Game is no longer satisfying but frustrating! Played it as long as I could to give it a chance…great concept and graphics…I absolutely loved it until this point. Definitely a set up for failure unless you put money into it.
