Great!. The speaker is great, but having the option to turn it on or off without having to get up would be a nice feature. Adding that would be great, it really is a inconvenience to have to turn it on from the speaker Itself. Also, Airplay doesn’t work that well, needs to be improved.

Stereo pair on deck via Roon!. The best portable option I’ve found for deck or around the house using Roon to drive mult-room music.

Good at first. I’ve recently hooked the 1300X up and I love it. This app was great at first but now after about 3 days I’ve had the same issues as mentioned. The virtual remote is gone and the EQ does not appear to be working. Please fix JBL, it was a great app, at first.

firmware update check at every app launch. please make this stop.

Feels pressure to subscribe. I can’t play Pandora. It has to be only the apps this speaker uses so you may need to subscribe again

Speaker keeps shutting down.. Reset. Set to never Auto Shutdown. Keeps shutting down after 1/2 hour. Poor support.

Volume modulation. Volume adjustment / modulation is a problem on iPhone

JBL One is HORRIBLE.. App will not even stay up without crashing.

JBL 500 bar. This replaced a still working Samsung sound bar with a 4-5 inch woofer and satellite surround. I’m not comparing apples to apples but the difference in every way is astounding. It has a rich full sound with deep bass. I love everything about it from the sound to the app You hear things that you didn’t hear before. I can’t say enough good things. I’m happy with my purchase

Decent start, lots of room to improve. I have the Authentics 300. The app was easy to set up. The app has lots of controls which are poorly identified via VoiceOver, and the EQ is not usable with VoiceOver. Besides significant accessibility improvement, I would also love to be able to enter an audio URL to be passed to the speaker to be played.

Boombox 3 WiFi w/ iPhone 13 Pro Max /ios 17. Ever since I bought the speaker when I use the JBL app for Wi-Fi, which has the best sounds I adjust the volume through the app, and the volume will either scroll all the way to no volume or all the way up to maximum volume without stopping I called the customer service. It was on the phone for over an hour, and they couldn’t even put me in touch with the technical service rep. Ridiculous.

Bluetooth issue. I really like the sound and the bass of this WiFi 5. However, the Bluetooth performs poorly when I take it on the go, that is disappointing

Now, regarding the audio smart mode feature- PLEASE PLEASE add an option to keep it turned off to prevent auto surround audio decoding of different formats… The problem is it’s auto on feature every time the bar is turned on … Otherwise… it’s a great product.. Well done guys… well done..

Doesn’t work. This app does not connect to my home speaker that costs over 1k. Rip off.

App ruins the audio. I am on my second JBL speaker, having returned the first one because it skipped/dropped/popped regularly. Second one did the same thing. I found info online indicating that the JBL app might be responsible. Removed the app and sure enough, the speaker works like a dream now. The app adds virtually nothing to the experience, so avoid it at all costs.

Add Apple Music Dolby Atmos Support!!!!. It’s pretty crazy that Jbl is forcing users to have a tidal premium subscription for $25 a month just to take full advantage of the Dolby Atmos feature PLEASE ADD APPLE MUSIC WITH DOLBY ATMOS SUPPORT!!!!

App won’t connect to Bar 5.1. Manual connect forces download of JBL Bar Setup, which does appear to connect, but does nothing except say it’s “online”. Then, in this app, Bar 5.1 is still not recognized and won’t connect. As a side note, the sound quality/volume of the 5.1 is HALF the sound quality/volume of the TV sound (Bravia). I was hoping the JBL app could help, but it does nothing.

100% disappointed. This is the worst app I have ever used in my life. It barely supports any music apps for the moment feature and when I try to log into any of the ones it does support, like Iheartradio it immediately fails login even though I can log into the Iheart app itself no problem

Connecting more than 1 Speaker is useless, is this 1999?. JBL has been a dominating brand of high quality products for decades, in homes, in cars, in personal entertainment and so much more. I’ve been attempting to connect a Charge 5 Wifi and Boombox3 Wifi in some type of pairing mode for months without success and i’ve tried everything. Maybe this is some weird scenario with my Iphone App Compatibility but ai don’t have any problems with any other system. Feeling disappointed now that I went the JBL Route.

WiFi doesn’t work well on a mesh. JBL One doesn’t work well on a mesh WiFi network. It only works if the speaker and smart phone are in the same node in a mesh network. If the phone moves within the same network but switches to another node the speaker disconnects from the WiFi completely. It’s quite difficult to reconnect them after. Please update to resolve this.

PLEASE TURN OFF UPMIXING for STEREO mode！. up mixing for stereo mode is very weird and unnatural in JBL Bar 800, I tried the manual guidance of silence and plus button, it resets every time it starts. Please add feature to configure in app or simply turn it off.

Charge 5 WiFi won’t join WiFi. I bought 2. First one paired as expected- both Bluetooth and WiFi. Pleasantly surprised. Second one won’t pair. Tried reset 3 times. No luck. Help page suggested in app is 404. No quality control at JBL.

Misunderstood. I love the sound but disappointed that it said wireless , which lead me to think it was portable ! Bought it for my back yard , now I need a extension cord

Wifi does not connect. The wifi consistently will not connect to my iphone. Numerous turn on/turn offs to get the wifi to connect. App repeatedly show no wifi service “at this time” and sometimes takes a long as 30 mins or more to connect to wifi.

Good App, With a Limitwd Equalizer. Overall, the JBL One app is a good app. However, where it could improvement is with the equalizer. It’s limited to 3 frequencies. Perhaps, JBL (Harmon) can update the firmware so the speaker system can support a wider range of frequency adjustments.

Precise location required. Why is permission to share my precise location required to connect the sound bar I paid for to my personal wifi? Shady

Want access to everything. This isn’t a breeze to setup if you don’t want them to use your precise location or access to your WiFi. Just wanted to use it with my phone Bluetooth. Deleted off my phone and just used the phone Bluetooth settings.

Quality. The JBL 500 isn’t the type of quality that I would expect from this manufacturer. I have purchased there products in the past and the quality was much better. Quite frankly, I was disappointed in this particular product.

Makes my Charge 5 Snap, Crackle and Pop. For some reason when I’m using my charge 5 and I have this app also using the Bluetooth it creates a snapping and crackling sound while it’s playing music. At first I I thought it was a bad speaker I just bought it this month December 2023. It did have the latest firmware, but after reading others having the same problem someone in the Reddit said it was the app. As soon as you delete the app, it wasn’t crackling no more, so it has to do something with the app and the speaker using the Bluetooth at the same time, this needs to be fixed. I had to delete the app.

It’s a whole New World with the JBL charge five. Thinking about getting rid of old stereo, cassette player, CD player CD player turntable two big speakers $1500 with a Roberts stereo pioneer with this speaker hooked up to Alexa and Bluetooth thing from my phone

AirPlay issue. I have now bought and returned the boombox 3 WiFi thinking it was a defect, but now with my second unit, the problem still persists. I will play music via airplay, and the music will randomly stop being received at the boombox. No music, just silence, but when I go to my phone, or iPad (second device I tried during my troubleshooting) the music still says it’s playing, and the progress bar of the song is still moving as if it’s still playing. Still says it’s connected to the boombox 3 via airplay and WiFi, yet the transmission seemingly just stops randomly with no rhyme or reason. I have tried multiple devices, as well as multiple WiFi networks with the same result. It is infuriating. Unit, devices, and even a new wireless router have been replaced. Updates on router, devices, app, and boombox 3 WiFi are up to date. Any manufacturer fix or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dropped the ball on this app. If JBL made this app with an actual equilizer function like the JBL Headphone app then I would think about changing my review but this app is pointless when using it for the JBL Bar 1300. It is sad because that sound bar set up has some serious potential that is extremely limited by the functionality and controllability which is supposed to come from this pointless app!

Needs work with authenticating with Alexa MRM. I could not get the app to authenticate with Alexa. I have 2FA on and the app was telling me to enable cookies. It was an endless loop of trying to get it to log in. I finally tried to fresh when it gave me the cookie warning and then log in again. At that point I was able to login and get the MRM setup. This need to be fixed.

Poor speaker, poor app. I’m a JBL fanboy so I bought the Authentics 300. WOW the speaker and the reviews could not have been further apart. I don’t know if mine was not functioning correctly but there was little bass and very narrow sound. As for the app. It seems cluttered and the volume seems to have about 8 settings on it. It is very anti incremental. Trying to play Music through Tidal requires you to go multi levels deep to find the music. The bass and treble work great and then it’s as if you turned them off or changed them. You can’t seem to get it set where you want it as it seems to constantly change.

Buggy Tidal plugin. Tidal plugin login accepts your password then errors out. You get a green check mark indicating that the password is accepted, then it spins for a few seconds and give you the error: Login Failed, please try again! Not the new user experience that you want. This is the same password I tested in my tidal app. This has been happening without a fix since I got the Charge 5 WiFi.

Shut off to update. This thing decides to update while I have company over. This just messed everything up

Connectivity. It would be great if you could connect other speakers. I have a JBL Xtreme 2 and can’t connect the two speakers. To have the same music playing inside and outside with two different JBL speakers would be ideal and should be an option.

Not many useful features. It would be nice to have ability to check battery charge level of rear batteries. The bar messages, might not be watching TV when message displays.

Moment setup doesn’t have volume level setting anymore. Why remove the main decent feature. Now with latest version the Moment button configuration doesn’t have volume level setting anymore

It was great till you changed the EQ. I own a stereo pair of Ultimates, they sounded great until recently when you updated your eg setting. Even though I’ve always used the custom eq, you have now changed its sound significantly to the point where I now won’t listen to them. Please go back to the original profile. Never ever mess with sound signatures. Ever.

Colour glitch. When I got my Authentic 300 in white, the app used to show white, but now it’s showing black, and that hurts my eyes, can you please fix this evil glitch?

What the hell is the moment button. You need to hold the moment ad Bluetooth buttons with the JBL charge 5 to pair. THERE IS NO MOMENT BUTTON, I’ve tried every single combo for 10 seconds and nothing works. Why can’t this app talk to their other apps? Is JBL really this hopeless?

Dialogue not audible. Offline again and again and mid range ( dialogue ) not audible in movies at low volume like 12 to 15

Not bad but too basic. Needs more eq notches. Dolby setting not visible in app at all and for setting reference while watching. Soundbar is amazing no doubt there !!

Review. Speakers sound good but randomly system turns down without prompting🤢

Missing features. Nice app with potential, but missing required features. When you are using it with JBL Bar 1000 home theatre sound bar, the app doesnt display the battery charge for the satellite speakers when they are docked at the main sound bar for charging. If the app doesn’t show the battery charge levels for the rear speakers while they are charging at their home base… how would we know how much more time left until we can undock them? I mean we can undock them anytime, but, would be nice to know they are at 100% before undocking. The app shows battery levels while undocked, but not when docked and charging. The equalizer function keeps changing from 7 bar equalizer to 3 bar equalizer… with no explanation why it’s doing that. No saved equalizer presets. Have to re-set each time you changed your equalizer settings. No way to test each speaker/channel to see they are all functioning. Would be nice to have a test video included in the app. App could display if the content playing is in Atmos or 5.1 surround or 7.1? Etc… there is some info at the display hardware infront of the sound bar but it’s not enough.

Stopped connecting, now my speaker is a brick. JBL Authentics 500. Worked great for a year. On day 366 it stopped working. Software won’t connect, speaker is dead.

Can’t find the device. That all I see even though the other JBL setup app say connected this app still will not!!!

Was 5 star until update. It’s disappointing that the app now requires location to be always enabled to use JBL products. The update really made the experience worse.

I’m about done. Bad software and bad hardware, JBL Partybox Ultimates have to many problems. Decent sound, but if I could rate zero stars, I would. This is by far the wost experience I’ve had with expensive, high end tech. Please, do better than this.

Won’t connect to WiFi. The app is probably great but I can’t get the JBL 1000 MK 2 to connect to WiFi. I’ve been trying for days. Luckily the sound bar works through an optical connection and I can control volume with the remote.

Review. Keeps disconnecting from app and WiFi

In happy user. So in verifying my speaker I was immediately locked out of the app and told to email the support staff. They Provided no email address and now I can’t equalize my speaker. Thinking about returning the speaker due to this.

Big Brother.... Big Brother thinks he needs LOCATION ACCESS in order to use the equalizer & set up the lights for the JBL Ultimate

🙃. Was better before the update that makes me have location services on just to connect the speaker to the app.

Requires location. This app cannot be used unless you grant permission to see your location. The older JBL PartyBox and JBL Portable apps do not require location. I will not be switching to the JBL One app. Any JBL product I purchase that is only compatible with the JBL One app will be returned to the store.

Don’t Buy!. Endless connectivity problems with its Bluetooth. Works, then it doesn’t, then suddenly does again. Total PIA.
