Really Fun. This is the most fun I've had with an IOS synth in a long time. Bought unlocked version within the first 10 minutes of playing. This is going to be a hard one to beat.

Great App. At first I was bummed they removed the in-app track recorder but then I realized how well this app integrates with garage band so it’s no longer needed! In the old days I was importing back and forth between the two

ANALOG SOUND FOR SYNTH ENTHUSIASTS!. This is the truest synth on ios! Really brinfs such analog sound & the UI is inspiring :) The timbres feature is great for getting a wavetable like experience out of any sounds & recordings! ———————————————————- Small suggestions: Timbres Section: If the import timbres had an option to auto slice & fill all slots automatically. This would be incredibly useful for using field recordings & experimental audio as all source sound. maybe like equal 3-10 second slices or slice into equal parts & there is a max time for each division so to not slow things down too much. Mod Section: I feel a mod matrix similar to ApeMatrix by Apesoft or Factory by Sugarbytes. These matrices are so intuitive & the UI looks beautiful & I feel if you matched it to your current UI colors & visuals it would be really interesting :) ————————————————- Thanks to everyone on the team b/c its really a masterpiece!

Faithfully Crashes Live!!!. I've been trying to get this VST3 (wrapper) to work in Live 11 (M1 Mac) for a while... wishing each update makes it whole. This VST 3 will load and work for about a minute or two, then the audio will drop out (for the channel with Animoog Z only). When I try to delete the instance of the plugin from the channel it completely crashes Live. I do love my Grandmother mono synth and view MOOG as an absolutely great company, but maybe they should just stick to analog :)

Loving it…but purchase did not unlock on all compatible devices. Aloha, After playing with this for a few days I decided to purchase. I used the app store on my 2109 MacBook Pro. When I went to my iPad, I have the limited version. I’ve tried clicking on the “Unlock Full App” that is labeled as “Already Purchased” when I visit the App Store on my ipad, but no go. I’m happy to up this rating to 5 in exchange for some developer support to get this up and running on my ipad (without purchasing again, if possible!) I reached out a few days ago thru the contact form on the website but no word so far. Help, please. Thanks in advance!! Update: It took a while but the developer got back to me to explain that this was a feature of the App Store. I was, indeed, able to get this unlocked on my iPad and am busy thoroughly enjoying learning the mysteries. Awesome!! Thank you for a sweet rabbit hole to dive down.

A wonderful instrument. This is easily accessible for new musicians and for those who want to dive deep into sound sculpting. Totally worth the money, not just for more access and presets, but because the designers deserve some compensation for a great instrument. I personally use it in Logic Pro with the M1. It needs restarted and the app ran on stand-alone before it runs great in Logic. If you plug an iPad into the Mac you can enable it and sort of use it as a controller. An Animoog Z within an Animoog Z! Just bouncing presets off one another is hours of fun. Amazing for soundscapes and quick song ideas!

An inspiring instrument. This is not just another synthesizer app. This is a well-crafted and carefully thought-out musical instrument with the musician in mind. Love the expressiveness, as well as the MPE support with a 5D midi keyboard like the ROLI as well. The tones and sounds are “super Moog”, and I enjoy this little app, in a lot of ways, as much as my physical Moog Subsequent37. What this thing does is inspire. It “leads” you to new creative ideas, and in a special way. I think it’s great for musicians who are looking to expand their voice and find new ways to express and summon the muse. Kudos to Moog for this excellent and inspiring creation! Keep it comin’.

Nice update!. I’ve Enjoyed the original for many years now and there’s always some new sound to find. This one looks like a cool update.

A Classic reborn as an AUv3!. The Moog Model 15 and Model D apps are all business and all about emulating classic hardware. Animoog Z feels like a playground, an experiment with things you can’t really do in a hardware synth. I’m so happy that Moog has revitalized the Animoog with AUv3 support. With that, it jumps from “fun diversion” to part of my everyday workflow. Worth every penny.

Awesome. I wish I had this when I was 4 years old.. If I had had this when I was 4 years old, I would have become the person I have always been.

Great synth!. Great sounding synth! Just like the Model 15, this is a great bang for the buck. Highly recommended. If you're like me and have issue of it working in Logic on MacOS Monterey, launch the standalone app first. It works after that!

The most beautiful synth app ever. Moog not only does the best synth hardware, but also their software is beautiful, accessible and open to exploration. Animoog is a new way of understanding wavetable synthesis and after first use, you won't be dissappointed at the results. Is fun and beautiful.

MoogTastic!. As a kid my first Moog was a real Mini-Moog back in 1980. Kids today can get the trill of Moog sounds for free and that is game-changing for bringing the next generation of songwriters forward. I love the didactic keyboard which makes it so easy to compose a new part in D# Lydian if I so desire. This is a dream machine. Support this dev team - they bring the joy.

This is Fantastic!. The same sizzling and acerbic and complex timbral sound as the first, but in 3D. Nice improvements like a more modular signal path, and more modulation sources/destinations. I like how you can see the effect of modulation on the knobs themselves, and it be awesome if they would do the same for the LFOs, but still every attention to detail is incredible. Great job to the developers over at Moog!

Animoog Z ROCKS!. First off, who can actually not love Moog?? That said, this is a worthy upgrade to Animoog and great to have it on Mac as well as iOS. I will admit the AU/VST plugins might need a little love, but this app is fantastic and seriously good value. You will not regret buying from Moog and hopefully they will develop even more on the Apple platforms.

What??!!. This is sick! I just downloaded this started playing with it and an hour went by without noticing. I am just using the free version. I will definitely be purchasing the upgrade to support the dev team if nothing else. I 😍 you Moog

Love this synth.. It took me a little while to wrap my head around it completely, but after digging into the manual for some of the finer points I am seriously impressed. I have to admit that initially this seemed cute with all the blinky lights, don't be fooled, this is actually a wicked powerful synth once you dig into it. Thanks to the team at Moog for such a wonderful instrument and all of the continuous updates.

Unlimited possibilities. Never heard anything like this before. I didn’t know what I was looking for until this happened. Now I found it. It’s time to speak through these sounds. Don’t think twice. Just get it. I’m serious.

New Animoog? Yes please…. I’m not going to write much, because I’ve only been into it for about 15 minutes. And already, I like what I am seeing. An arpeggiator, more path editing features, and new sounds. The free parts are fun, but spring for the full version, it’s not expensive. I still need to wrap my head around the editing features. Edited: Not only managed to pull my stuff over from Animoog, all that content is on my desktop and phone versions too. The import function is too easy. Thanks. My Adam Holzman presets are intact.

Legendary. Absolute must-have for anyone who is into synthesizers. Moog has been a huge force in analog synths since the very start, and their foray into iOS synth apps has set the bar. Z takes Animoog to the next level. I’ve only scratched the surface, and am amazed. Seriously, get this app. Buy the upgrades. Did I mention that it’s AUv3, and universal for Mac too? Mind boggling.

very nice update with one caveat. I love this new update but missing one great feature of the original. Please consider adding missing 4 track recorder from original animoog. Will keep both versions for now.

My Secret Weapon of Choice. Record Producer Joe Solo here. Whenever I need to invent a new sound, which amost all the time, one of my go to creative tools is Anamoog Z. The presets are amazing, and getting the entire set they offer in the Store menu expands Anamoog 's palette with a diffferent spin on each collection offered - Well worh the price of a few bucks. Each presets can also be used as a starting point to invent your own new sounds. This is highly valuable, becasue Anamoog Z works and sounds like no other instrument can to begin with. It uses an proprietery synth engine so you can create sounds and vibes no other device so far can make. Not that you will need to make your own sounds, as the presets are incredible. And take it from me, I am a audio snob. Very few devices are unique in their sonic abilities - this is one, and it's near or on the top of such a list. I recommend anyone who wants to (endlessly) explore new soundscapes, new ways to control what you're playing, and invent clever ways of combining the two for altering your sounds in ways you didn't know existed, get Anamoog Z right now.

Nice to get lost. Drawing the orbits in 3D is kind of addictive. It’s like drawing and each added mark morphs the sound and with three dimensions it gets pretty trippy and beautiful. I think the layout on this app is pretty great on the iPad though the iPhone is cramped like Animoog, but it’s still just as enjoyable and I have a newer se (small screen), It’s half the price ($10) of Animoog for unlocking all the parameters. I’m not big on freemium but it doesn’t strike me as predatory just adding effects and other modulation for $5. It’s an enjoyable time killer on the bus. Worth it to me.

A Good Upgrade. Basically the "Z" model is the same as the original AniMoog. Some features are improved (the mod matrix, for example), while others are essentially the same (some of the effects, the scale programmer, etc.). The workflow is better after shelving the skewmorphic modular synthesizer look and feel of the original, where you had to scroll among "modules" to gain access to them. The Z axis does add some new wave table capabilities. But over all it is not fundamentally different from the original. The price is fair for what it is and the sound quality is very good. Having said all of that, I have never been a big fan of the sound of the Animoog. It sounds very digital and most of the waves in the catalog sound far too similar. I prefer more analog sound qualities to the sterile sound of digital waves. But for those pieces when you want that digital sound, the AniMoog really excels. Very complex wave-shifting is easy and sounds more alive than standard, static waves. Importing waves and preset from AniMoog is easy breezy. I really miss the 4-track recorder, though. Perhaps Moog can bring that back in a future update. So while Animoog Z is not a major new product or even a giant improvement over the previous Animoog, I am still happy I bought it. Its really fun to just experiment with. Its easily worth the price.

Missing features. How do I access features that I already owned on your previous Animoog app? You guys removed the old app from the Appstore where I already owned features that you're now charging again for. I tried to restore purchases in the new app but it didn't work. Is there a way for previous users who already owned these features to get them back?

A brilliant update of an icon. Animoog Z literally takes the original Animoog (a classic in its own right) into another dimension. Endless sound design possibility sits behind an interface you can happily play with (or just stare at) for hours. Special mention to the new Effects tab—it’s great to see all the effects at once—and the modulation matrix. Easy LFO assignment FTW.

I saw this app icon on the App Store the other day and I completely ignored it because I was 100% sure it was some kind of Simon Says game app icon is hideous. 2. why do good synthesizers leave out reverb. 3. preset navigation arrows are too small & too close together. 4. Can you make the app fit iPad Pro 11” screen without the black lines on the edges. My complaints are too minor to take any stars away five stars are well deserved 👏🏼

Better than the original, but... I’m seeing issues making my own timbres on an M1 iPad. Importing any wav file, regardless of source or being stereo/mono, results in a sample with an electric sounding buzz that sounds nothing like the file should. Recording from the mic does the same thing. Other than that I love it. It’s the more mature version of Animoog that we’ve all wanted for years and I’ve already had a ton of fun mixing it with other apps with the auv3 support.

Boys and girls, the trip is back. Trippers rejoice, it's not only on my m1 pro iPad, but also on the Mac. What a day. I'm thinking of switching purely to the Mac since all the best synthetic are now on the Mac with infinite more abilities in Ableton. Phew. The sound and in app purchase packs are spot on and instabuys like Korg module pro. Moog is following Korg into the Mac and it's a great path. Just give me AU now too on the Macs already.

Great app. I really dig the new Animoog Z, but I don’t have an iPad that will run it. Can we PLEASE have the older version back on the AppStore? Some of us can’t shell out the cash for new iPads, and have to make do with what we have. And now I can’t install an app that I dearly love and had PURCHASED! All of the moog products are brilliant, I would purchase “Z” if I could, but I have to make music with iOS 12.5.5. Come on Moog, do the right thing here... George Hardin

Great stuff!!. For those complaining that there’s no recording, try the looper in the Fx section. This is the best Animoog version yet, the sound is classic moog and can be tweaked to my heart’s content, yeah u can try the free version but for 20 bucks I cannot think of any synth with more fun , maybe Synth One, but this is amazing if you know what the controls do, can’t wait to try it with my DAW.

INSTABUY. I didn’t need to test the free version - went straight to purchase full app. Fun! ISSUE: Doesn’t come up in the list on AudioShare. Is Animoog Z compatible with Inter App Audio? We’ll still need that feature from the original until MPE is supported in the DAWs we use. —————————————————————————— NOTE to reviewer Soundister: “When I used it in Nanostudio Animoog X UI was so small I couldn’t adjust anything while playing” In Nanostudio, in upper right hand corner, tap the icon that looks like this: (((O))) That will allow you to use Animoog Z (or any AUV3 app) in full window mode. Hope that helps anyone with that issue.

Dissatisfied. This app does not work with iOS even after paying the $9.99 for the full unlock all features . I’ve tested it on two different DAWS Nanostudio 2 and Zenbeats. Recording is not possible using the didactic keyboard and the cube . Recording is only achieved by using the Daws built in keyboard but any morphing and modulation is bypassed rendering the app useless . I really like the app as it comes with terrific sounds so I’m very much hoping this important issue can be fixed soon.

Accept It Knowing the Presets are Tame.. Wow. One of those instruments full of nooks and crannies and a few surprises like + and ~lfo drive to the same destination for unusual interruptions. This is built for space farts or “head music” and all the presets are keyboard playable? Don’t be fooled either by the unusual interface or the presets or the orbs. A little time and it’s addicting.

Great tool for analog sonic experiments. If you are a relative newcomer to Moog you might find the extensive number of settings a bit daunting. In my case, I played a bit, read a bit (on their forums), and it just gets more fascinating. Great app.

Almost excellent. Wonderful and expressive. Worth 5 stars but there is no way I can find to make the volume of the presets global. When paying live it can be a pain for the volume to jump up or down when you switch presets. Please add volume global setting.

Wish original didn’t stop working. I have presets and IAP’s as well as custom timbres etc from the original Animoog. It Will not open (immediate crashes) since new update which coincidentally merely advertised “the free” new version of “Z”. This would’ve been ok if in the “free” new version I could at least import those presets and timbres to use before being asked to spend more money. Now, I remember during Lock down Moog stepped up and gave away apps and that was an awesome generous thing they did.

Really crappy of Moog to disable the older version.. So, I saw that Moog added a new Z version of their app. I liked using the original so I tried it out. Didn’t see anything that exciting in the update but I thought, maybe later, However, today, an ‘update’ for the older version of Animoog downloaded and essentially crippled it. It will crash as soon as you open it. Pretty crappy, Moog.

I think that what Defines a GOOD SYNTH is that it leaves you Asking questions; what is this going to do, what if I hit this note here, can I get it to sound wrong or right or whatever negative or positive notions you have of sounds, it doesn’t tell you or make you believe it’s good or not, it lets you Define it with whatever capabilities it had or has or expands towards_ There’s no defining a good synth except by its limitations; if it has doors unlocked, pathways into infinity, definitive but ever expanding, it’s limitless, IT’S A WINNER!! 🙏🙏🙏😇🙏🙏🙏 I CONNECTED THE KEYSTEP PRO: NOW, I FEEL I AM THE LAWNMOWER MAN!!

A Must Have. Full disclosure, I basically live down the street from Moog HQ. This is well worth the unlock and I have only scratched the surface. Big fan of Moog and am so excited for anyone who gets their hands on this amazing app!

Mac and iPad both available now. After my 1 star review for not getting help after requesting, I revisited the iPad tonight and was successful at "restoring purchase." I had tried several times after purchasing on my mac to restore on the iPad as well. Reached out several times to the support email and still haven't heard back. Tonight, the restore purchase option worked and I just finished happily spending 2 hours exploring more (there is soooo much here!) I would joyfully give it a 5 had I had any sort of feedback/response from support. Maybe they are busy adding functionality? Maybe the recent update fixed my issue? Either way. . .happier tonight!

AWSOME. I’ve had Animoog almost from when it came out and love it. Animoog Z picks it up with out missing a beat. I’ve had a ton of presets and Timbers in Animoog. The import of Animoog presets and Timbers to Animoog Z was flawless. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to even like it. Animoog Z does not disappoint. For me Moog hit a grand slam. Moog has also been good with updates.

Excellent synth! Very pleasant, both to the ears and eyes!. Excellent and very unique synth. Love the sound quality and diverse possibilities, and UI is very pleasant to use especially in standalone mode. The synth is Very rich harmonically, feels like the sounds have organic depth to them. Aside from the excellent sound quality, it’s also an inspiration tool for me. I often open and mess around with it to get ideas. Just create interesting flowing sounds and then create music around them. You can make very interesting spacious ambiences with it. I primarily use it to make melodic tones that can be played with both hands. But sometimes I get carried away making more meditative sounds that seem to fill the room with pleasant harmonics. And that’s even before you put reverb on it ;) Definitely would recommend this synth to anyone. p.s. Thanks for fixing the timbres-scrolling bug. Now it’s perfect 😍

Surpasses the original in every way.. Moog clearly put a tremendous amount of work updating and upgrading Animoog and the new one is really, really good. The new synth gives you all the originality of version one with new sounds available in every direction, yet retaining the unique tone that Animoog was famous for. In my opinion this is a classic and I cant wait to see how they continue to improve it. Truly beautiful warm sounds if you want them and nasty sharp edged ones are easy to obtain as well. A synth work of art in my humble opinion. No question - 5 stars.

Pure synth fun.. Great to see this new version of the classic "Animoog-iPhone". I have enjoyed the original version since it first came out. -- This new version completely refreshes and updates Animoog's look and features. -- With the many new features and interaction possibilities in the new Animoog Z, I will be spending a lot of time exploring and having fun with this synth.

Terrible sales practices. So you launch a new version of Animoog which basically requires in app purchases to achieve similar functionality to the old version. Then you release an update to the old app that kills it (crash on app launch) on both the iPhone and iPad platforms. Then you remove the old version from the App Store. Customers who paid for the old version prior to it going free you are happy deceitfully walk all over. Shameful practices.

This was Science Fiction back in the 80s. Just a positive review concerning price. I have just downloaded free version … there is enough inspiration here ..and timbre variation in my AirPods that a young me could of even dreamed of … running through a silent lightweight machine that I can hold in my hand whilst having a coffee. This just a few decades ago would have been black magic. Rewind to 1980. Yeah Joe you heard right .. I just bought a Moog Synth that I can hold in my hand …

lost in music. I love this app - as a longtime fan of the original Animoog app, I was a little wary of yet another app “upgrade” (having been so disappointed many times before by other developers’ attempts to “improve” an existing app), but my concerns were unfounded. The only thing missing is the 4-track recorder from Animoog, but with inter-app audio and VST AU functionality, maybe Moog felt it wasn’t needed.

Pretty awesome - but user presets need fixing. An amazing thick sounding synth. But as a plug-in it doesn’t allow access to user presets, only factory sounds. AUM reports it needs an update. So unfortunate if you want to tweak & save custom sounds. Works ok as a free-standing app.

Wireframes Extension Rip Off. $8.00 Bucks for only 4 Wireframe presets ?… I cant decide if it’s highway robbery or a total rip off… DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Great Sound. Nice thick moving sounds from this app. Only niggle is its a little heavy on cpu compared to say the Synthamasters, but similar to Bleass Megalit. Doesn't my Mac M1 but shows a bit on my ipad air. If your after a "motion" kind of sound this definitly has something to offer.

Oh Moog, I love you so.. Decades ago, I met some of your hardware while I was doing work experience in a Radio Station. They had a studio B, with a bunch of old analog gear set up, and I don’t remember what it was that I played with at the time, but I remember the name. From day one, which happened decades before I stumbled across this equipment in this dingy little room Moog have defined their own sound. You can just tell when you hear it. You know it’s a Moog filter. You know that warmth that every other synth box tried to replicate but didn’t get quite right. Back in those days, owning a tablet device that ran new synthesisers made by Moog were a black magic concept. Instead, it was a common belief that by 2020 we’d all be in hover cars. But it’s happened. You can run new and old Moog synths portably on a tablet you can hold in your hand, and you can just tell it’s Moog. Even virtually, their work is the benchmark of excellence. Love your work.

Animoog original, please don’t go. =P. Upon a second review of the application.. I am sad to figure out.. a conclusion one avid animoog user is to draw would be, in all actuality you have discontinued the Original Animoog? This is very upsetting, on one hand. But in light of a transparent review, slight differences interface wise leads to a ‘fluff’ up - you had the design detail on L O C K with that original Animoog, I hope you all please make it available in the App Store once again - love using it live - a TRUE tone and INSTANT CLASSIC with absolutely no compared competition and NO EQUAL! Set thus far .. as the iOS music and sound design model.. if not available (the original) - maybe, a hard mark, but progression forward as a sound design unit is not enough to take the pit away, But will that pit fade away? Not when I have 20$ to spend AGAIN when investing in previous releases but have nothing to show.. I don’t know.

worst support...ever. Tried several times to ask about loading this as an AU instrument in my Daw (DP11) since it doesn't come up as a loadble au plugin nor is it scanned by Performer like all other plugins when I boot the Daw. Support is non-existant..they simply ignore anything sent to them so you're on your own. Have tried to contact them 3 times now to no avail. Not planning on buying any more products from them.

Another Winner. Moog comes up with cool sounding synths. This one is special. How can someone give a terrible rating because they expected the app to go on sale instead of changing from the intro price to the normal price. The guy obviously likes the app because he bought it. So as a thank you for the great app, he decided to screw up sales by giving a terrible rating. How selfish is that. Ratings are a way to tell others if the app is good, not as an immature way to complain about your own mistake. Humans are not a cool race of aliens. We only care about ourselves and our own feelings. That rating did absolutely nothing except screw the developer who did nothing wrong.

Animoog Z. Sounds fantastic, using it on my Mac as well (without buying a different version) is fantastic . Lush sounds, beautifully designed (logical) UI, running it on either the IOS or Mac platform without any additional cost (other developers should take note) what’s not to like. As I’ve given it a 5 star rating, obviously nothing. Well done Moog.

Sweet sounds but…. As per all Moog instruments, the sound quality is outstanding. This new version is amazing, not like the original wasn’t. Although it seems like the help centre doesn’t want to contact you back if you have issues… like the one that if you use this app with AUM, all the purchased patches won’t come up in your library. I’ve had other small issues over the last couple years even with the original Animoog. Emailed, tried to chat, all to no avail. What gives Moog? I’d say your a big enough company to at least help out your devoted fans…

Animoog W is next.. Re-editing post develloper response…. I suppose too much might be what some of you are looking for. Then you’ve found it. The 2D version is still better for some simple presets (even the 2D wacky pressets are overly wonky). A third dimension is a lot of control over too many parameters... We already had LFO’s, X, Y, orbit rate variation, path rate variation and only four modules to vary sound design (now more modules if you buy them). Alright, the new app is better, but it completely reaks that I’ve put in a valid 40$ for an old iPad app. And now, If I purchase the new app, that 40 bucks has been thrown in the thrash can by the guys at Moog. Comming from a regular iOS beatmaker who has used your apps and put his wallets faith in you, it’s an insult, a big cash grab. Z should have been an in app purchase for Animoog 2D. In fact, the third dimension should be a toggle, that way 2D would fit seemingly in the 3D app and make everyone happier. Also, I could keep my presets I’ve been working on for years in the new app. Any computer assited design program has a 2D component to sketch things out, and then you press the 3D button. Make the Z a reasonnably priced add-in in normal Animoog, make the extra bells and whistles extra add ons too, respect the 40$ I’ve already put in for the iPad version and boom. You got me back. Great sound. Discount for Animoog users would have been nice.. Animoog has always been one of the best sounding iOS synths (if not THE best). Price is fair, but it would have been nice for buyers of Animoog and add-ons to have received some upgrade discount.

Missed out. I like the Animoog 2d. It was fine. When I finally got around to updating, the Z was not available to download anymore…feels like that shouldn’t be a time limited thing for customers who bought the original. So, because I liked the 2D I bought the Z. It’s good too , but the interface is clumsy. I can get used to that BUT WHY DOES IT NO LONGER CONNECT TO AUDIOSHARE like 2D does??? I make recordings that are longer than the built in recorder, which seems about 5 minutes. PLEASE RESTORE THIS FEATURE !!!! So I’ve paid twice and lost a crucial feature, not impressed.

Broken with new update?. New update OR new iPad update has broken the main visualizer wavecube screen, it’s just black. Sound works and everything else, just the visualizer section is blank. iPad OS 16.1

A Budget entry into MPE and advanced synthesis. I have had Animoog classic on one iPad or another since 2013 and have always been impressed with its fresh and innovative approach to synthesis. Lately I’ve wanted to explore MPE but controllers of any capability are expensive. Except I picked up an “open box” Artiphon Instrument 1 for a reasonable price. It mates very well with Animoog Z (and Animoog Classic) so I am exploring new musical horizons and I like that I have a formidable synth on my iPad Pro. I was a bit grumpy about shelling out to activate all the features, but once in 10 years? Sober second thought: the price is actually more than reasonable when you think about how much you get for the money.

Top of the class. One of the best synths in the App Store without question. Top marks Moog !

Amazing app!. Just one small criticism about the UX. It’s very hard to quit the iOS app as it’s locked on landscape mode. Labels are very small but that, I can live with. The UX needs improvement. Other than that, it’s a great app.

Audio over usb. Doesn’t output audio over audio over usb (stream audio from iOS Tia macOS device via the lightning cable, enabling the iPhone as a sound device in audio/midi setup)… I tested with other apps, include other moog apps, working just fine, Animoog Z, no audio over usb.

Best of the best. This the best synth to have since the original animoog period.

Privacy Concerns. I don’t see a reason for music app needing to know your location and all the other data. The app contacts few servers every time it’s launched. It’s a shame because other Moog apps don’t collect any data.

It’s like Having a digital & modular system all in one!. I love the ARP and extra drive FX along with the extended mod matrix! Moog is the best at what they do! FX section is a nice plus!

Old Moog dude enjoying big time!. I’ve had my share of vintage Moog’s over the years and this tasty little app is the best of old analog sounds and new tech. Truly inspiring!

No Record Feature. I wanted to record and thus send the file to AUDIOSHARE OR AD 480 Pro, but how can I collect the music created on Animoog? David German

Sick app .. Makes me miss my synthesizer. But with this app it’s more portable and a lot of fun

Great app. I really dig the new Animoog Z, but I don’t have an iPad that will run it. Can we PLEASE have the older version back on the AppStore? Some of us can’t shell out the cash for new iPads, and have to make do with what we have. And now I can’t install an app that I dearly love and had PURCHASED! All of the moog products are brilliant, I would purchase “Z” if I could, but I have to make music with iOS 12.5.5. Come on Moog, do the right thing here... George Hardin

Not real usable on iPhone. When using note hold you cannot put Animoog Z into the background without playing notes because the app doesn’t handle the white app switching bar on the bottom margin well at all. Offloaded app for now.

Fantastic!. This is now my #1 goto app for quickly setting up intuitive, great sounding MPE patches. The original Animoog was great, but Animoog Z is freaking amazing.

Great synth!. Great sounding synth! Just like the Model 15, this is a great bang for the buck. Highly recommended. If you're like me and have issue of it working in Logic on MacOS Monterey, launch the standalone app first. It works after that!

The Z is real. Increidble depth of sound and now visually glorious. The presets show this beauty off in a big way. I didnt know how bad I needed this until now. And ots on all my devices AND my MacBook - so rad!

Didnt think they could make animoog any better. But they did. all i can say is if you liked animoog, you are going to love this.

Previously purchased ~ slight mods req. re-purchase?. I purchased this AniMoog a few years ago... Never really used it for practical purposes = only “Play”. Personal medical required surgeries; stopped using. Now app is updated with a slightly different name, yet it’s the same app. Requires re-purchase! All my past add ‘Packs’ of sounds will restore yet not my app purchase...? Presently not working, right budget.

One of the greatest synths of all time. Lots of great presets, and lots of potential for deep sound design. It's great to have Animoog finally available as an Audio Unit, with a modern sound engine.

Charged 2 times. Huge fan of moog and really liked this app. Not enough to buy it 2 times, though I bought this app when my 2nd gen iPad was brand new, probably about 10 years ago. After reading mojobear22 review I felt confident I could go through the “purchase" and not be charged to upload Animoog to my new iPad. Not happy that a charge is pending on my debit card Any advice to become reimbursed?

No XY Pad Visuals.. I have purchased the full version of Animoogz but unfortunately no matter how I load it up there is zero visuals in the XY Pad. I’ve done everything I could think of including deleting and reinstalling. I’ve reached out to Moog support with no response. I’ll be requesting a refund next.

I'M NOT A PRO.... But then again, who has to be one with synths; as sonn as i fathomed the capabilties, which took me about a whole 2 seconds. I was out of Bed and FIRING up the MILIINIUM FALCON (M1) to Get this Bad Boy: Moog DOES IT AGAIN PROVING THEY CAN NOT ONLY STICK WITH THE TIMES BUT BE THE LEADER IN OUR TIME!!

Crashing on IOS 17. Wanted to upgrade but can’t justify the cost with it crashing as an auv3 in both Drambo and AUM. It went from occasional to frequent crashes moving from IOS 16 to 17.

Too Much Fun. The delicious sounds coupled with the evocative ORBS presentation provide endless hours of musical experimentation. The Animoog Z will get lots of use either as a standalone synth or integrated with my modular setup.

Nice update!. I’ve Enjoyed the original for many years now and there’s always some new sound to find. This one looks like a cool update.

It says I’ve purchased full features but cannot use. Cannot use the full features on my iPhone version even though it said it was complete ownership for all devices…..

Endless sonic possibilities here and there. This synth is incredible. Moog brought something new to the digital synth world and it quickly made it to my go-to synthesizers!

Wonderful MPE synth. Control it with a lynnstrument, iFretless bass, or any mpe midi controller for independent note pitch bends. Great soundscape to explore!

What is Moog ?. This doesn’t really make music, Or allow you to record songs or edit them ( like GB ) … It just makes a lot of gravely sounds ? ? ? I don’t know what I should have been expecting, but I’m disappointed !

Excellent. It's great to have quality apps from Moog, and I love the Animoog Z the most wiht its intuitive and capable interface AND great polyphony.

Very Cool. Love the whole new level of control with sliding and tapping fingers on glass of iPad. Also love using with Arturia Keystep 37 controller. WAY too much fun!
