Work in progress. I’m certain this app will get better overtime. There are a few things that prevent me from giving a higher score. 1. No file images to know what you’re looking at - most of my files have randomized computer names which makes it difficult to know what file I’m opening unless there is a preview of the file when looking at the list of files in a folder. Which there isn’t. 2. No mass file upload - this would make a great backup of huge photo albums on your phone that you’d want to keep secured. But single file uploads makes that idea impractical. It’d be nice to not rely on google photos which are well known to not respect privacy. Hopefully these will be implemented in near updates.

limited functionality. great that its encrypted, but unable to move files around within locker is very limiting. can only select one at a time??? also when making a folder after other files are uploaded it doesn't allow moving files into that folder within the locker?. again encryption is great, but this has a ways to go in making it user friendly and increasing longer use. still trying to decide if the encryption is worth it when i can only work to move one file at time and once its in the locker cant move it into another folder with common drag and drop many will try this but not consider upgrading after trying because of the limited functionality. something to consider.

Bare Bones. Works good for storing files but hard to do anything with them. Could really use a swipe function to quickly go from file to file (especially for pictures). As well as preview thumbnails for image files.

Nord services are great - except NordLocker. My NordLocker subscription has been active for about 6 months. In that time, there has been a single 2-3 week period in which I was able to upload files from a laptop without being prompted to reenter the master password every few minutes, and uploads timing out. It has never worked on my iOS device. NordVPN is great, and I decided to try out NordLocker based on that reputation. If you’re thinking of trying out NordLocker based on the same logic, beware: as of May 2023, Nord is a one-trick pony, and it isn’t cloud storage.

Not user friendly. Good thing is it is affordable. However, no pre view the files I uploaded. Therefore , I would have to remember the file name or open one by one to find the file I want. Other thing is I can’t upload the folder or multiple files on my iOS device Which means I have to select and upload photos & files one by one. And it’s talking about almost thousand of photos and hundreds of files You have 1TB , so you expected people do have a lot of files to storage there.

Needs picture scrolling. The app is a great start! But unlike on the web were you can scroll through your pictures it makes it a real pain to show anyone anything. You have to open one picture, hit 2 exit screens, then click the next. I really don’t understand how this was missed in the app version. Other then that I absolutely love it and use it for everything. But that one complaint alone would be enough to make me reconsider if I didn’t pay upfront for 2 years.

Secure product. I wrote an earlier review but it would not allow me to add a star rating and after looking the star rating was wrong and it won’t let me change it so I’m writing another. Passwords are annoying but necessary auto lock features are annoying but can save you from a costly error. It does have the ability to bypass the password if you set up an account on a mobile device with biometrics capability.

Absolutely horrible app. Steer clear until developers do something. I’m an iOS developer myself so let me give you guys some honest advice since you respond to every review & haven’t addressed a single complaint: - Almost every rating you’ve received in 2023 are 1-2 star reviews for a reason. The app has a horrendous UI/UX design that’s not suitable for today’s standards at all - You can only upload 1 file at a time which is a joke. Almost every cloud storage app on the App Store is the complete opposite. Extremely embarassing - You can’t swipe between photos uploaded - Files don’t have previews - You have to enter your password during every relaunch. One of the laziest functionalities when managing user login data - Plenty of flimsy, lazy annoying bugs while browsing through uploaded files Why don’t you guys fix these issues? Ask your developer(s) to address each of these points I mentioned & you’ll see a huge change in your rating

Just frustrating. I had initially signed up to take advantage of an offer that seemed like a good deal in terms of cost for a 2 TB plan. After a little while, I decided I should probably cancel. I reached out to the support team (the only way to cancel) and let them know I wasn’t happy with it. They then told me something to make me think of it more as a security service and not simply something like Dropbox/ Google drive, and I ended up not canceling. I then had no doubt that from a security standpoint, my data would be safe, now though I’m not so confident having used the software that it will really be reliable in the end. Now I’m trying to use the app by uploading a bunch of files since I have all that space to play with, but their software for doing this is very underdeveloped. Everything takes a long time to upload, organizing things (especially keeping track of what’s uploaded vs on your local disk) is not intuitive, on and on. While it’s too late for me to cancel, you can be sure that without a MAJOR overhaul of this app I will not be a returning subscriber at any price. Very disappointing.

Good way to lose your data and unhelpful customer service. Use another service that won’t lose your data after an app update. Files, photos gone! Reached out to their support team and have gotten no help or even an explanation to what has happened.

Future improvements. This is a decent app for the purpose of securing files, however I would love to see previews of images, and also I would love to see a swipe action for mobile app users, it can be a little rough to have to swipe all the way out of the image, find where you were, and then proceed to the next file you were looking for. More so time consuming and that is what is frustrating. Needing a more user friendly app layout is my only downside here.

Worst App by Nord. This could possibly be the worst app ever created by Nord. Can’t upload any videos to cloud. So far the experience has been very poor.

Too basic. Got this along with the vpn because it was cheap. Boy, is it. Can’t upload all of my photos at once, can’t view them in the app. Can only see them individually. Have to enter password each time it’s opened(thankfully Face ID works). Not really worth $12 a year.

Needs much improvement. I have subscriptions to every Nord product and I like them all, except the current version of NordLocker. I really want to switch from storing all my important stuff on Google Drive to storing it all on NordLocker, and have been waiting anxiously for the app to hit the App Store. But now that it’s out and available on the App Store, it leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, I shouldn’t have to enter my master password every time I want to open my NordLocker. My master password is long and complex, so I have to log into my NordPass account, then copy and paste my password into the launch screen. This sometimes malfunctions and refuses to let me log into my NordLocker at all! Then once inside, it is a pain to switch between files. All in all, I think once NordLocker has been around and had the kinks/bugs worked out, it’ll be a fine app. But for now, there’s still a lot that needs to be improved upon before it becomes my (or anyone’s) cloud storage app of choice.

Use A Separate Hard Drive Instead. I use NORD VPN and NORD PASS and highly recommend both. I just tried NORD LOCKER and it’s terrible. Frankly, it should be taken off the market until it works. It kept crashing when I tried to upload files from a portal drive. I stopped uploading after repeated crashes. I then tried to download the partial upload to my PC hard drive and three folders would not download…after multiple tries. Luckily, I already backed-up the original files on a separate hard drive. I deleted everything in my NORD LOCKER account and won’t use it again. It’s a waist of time and money.

company backstabbed it’s users.. They have recently decided to no longer support on device encryption and are forcing you to throw all of your files online when it’s a lot easier to hack into your account online than it is to physically access your computer before you can access those files which means you got a physically enter my home compared to anywhere online. I also received some phantom charges on my credit card and asked them why I was given another two years and they said that I did that but then there’s another charge and I have everything set up to not automatically renew. I’m going to have to call the credit card company tomorrow and tell them to restrict any more charges towards this company and I’m going to challenge the previous charges. I’m in through December 2028 now and I never signed on for more than one year. I feel like I’m being scammed. These people can’t be trusted. I’m done for life. Backstabbed and done 😤

Really? One photo at a time?. Not ready for release. Especially as a paid app. I purchased a terabyte, but uploading one photo at a time will take a lifetime. Can NOT even select more than one and let it work in the background. Not realistically usable. I t

Terrible. I subscribed to nordlocker 8 months ago. So far, it has not worked. When they introduced the web access and this App, I was hopeful. But…it still does not work. Even worse, my data has been lost, and I have spent too many hours trying to get my data out of Nordlocker. For example a locker will show 30 files, I’ll download all, but only 25 actually download. I have to spend time trying to find out which ones did not. Even when I identify the missing files , I end up having to try repeatedly to download them to get everything. I gave nordlocker eight months of my time and money.I have filed many tickets and nothing has been resolved. And now I am terribly frustrated that I can’t even get my data out of nordlocker.

Total failure. The app overall does not feel it works smoothly. I hate that I can’t even upload more than one file at the time and then it has problems to open it later. I am signing off.

Viewing pictures. It would be nice to be able to slide through photos instead of having to go back and selecting the next one and opening it up in a file viewer each time. I can’t just slide from photo to photo? There’s also no preview of the image. I have to guess what imagine it is by the name and date. I want to like this app and transfer all my stuff here, but it just doesn’t feel ready or user friendly. I don’t understand the updating of the Lockers and re-entering the same password I just provided to open the app initially and it opens Nord locker in a browser after I enter the password again instead of going back to the app itself? Not being able to hold and drag files to move them around is a bummer too. It’s just real simple features this app lacks.

Disappointed as soon as the app was opened. I use NordVPN. So I really really wanted to use and LIKE this app. I always use my 1st gen iPad Pro in LANDSCAPE MODE. This app seems to be locked into Portrait Mode. No thanks. I returned to the Home Screen and closed the app. As an Apple Developer, I can honestly say there is NO REASON to lock an app into Portrait or Landscape mode…other than lazy or apathetic development. My apps screens AUTOMATICALLY adjust to the device’s orientation. If a lone developer like me can implement that, then certainly a company with Nord’s resources, should be able to do it as well. It does make me wonder what other ridiculous problems might exist beyond the app’s welcome screen. There are similar apps out there… but none of them really seem to be “polished”. None of them would merit a 5 out of 5 stars. If I had my own storage service, or the API specs for NordLocker, I would write my own app for this.

Finally!!. I’m so I happy there’s a Nordlocker app now. The only feature I wish the app had was to automatically upload photos from my phones gallery to the cloud that would be so awesome and time saving!

It works. But that’s it. The app does what it claims, it just doesn’t do it well. I’m going to list everything that I find frustrating 1. The app is just plain slow. It takes like 10 seconds to upload a single photo, and you can’t upload more than one at a time. It took me 2 minutes to upload 6 photos, a resume, and a video. 2. You can’t swipe between files, forcing you to view and exit each one manually. 3. You can’t rename your files, and you can’t see what the files are unless you view them. So if you have a bunch of files and you’re looking for a specific one, good luck. I feel like the app needs to act more like a photo gallery than Dropbox. The app is functional, and I think will definitely get better with time, it’s just not really up to snuff yet

Not ready for any serious use. They give you 2TB of storage, but good luck using it. It takes several days to upload 8 GB. I’m on a 4MB/sec line. 8GB should take 2000 seconds, about 40 minutes. Add a bit for overhead and I would have expected an hour. I assume the encryption cannot keep up. I really had high hopes for this, but it’s terrible to the point of unusable. No one is going to renew this.

Needs An Actual App. Been waiting for Nordlocker to finally come to the App Store so I can work from my phone and not have to use my laptop all the time. This app would be a game changer if it wasn’t just a shortcut to a browser where I can access my cloud. If they make an app like they did for the VPN and password manager for NordLocker, it would be a 5 star app no doubt. Hopefully they are in the process of making one and it comes soon.

Rip off. Installed on a brand new iPhone. After weeks of Tech support ticket after ticket, giving screenshots and videos … all for nothing. Tech support gave up and said they cannot help anymore. I asked for a refund, which was declined! “Buy my broken product, keep my broken product”. I bought this because I have Nord VPN and it’s been a solid product, but now I will not renew that subscription either. When will companies treat their customers with respect when the product fails? How is it my fault your product fails? Nord has greatly disappointed us

Not quite there. Needs to add the ability scroll through images and files, also loading is slow.

No gallery view for media. I have to open photos and media one by one, instead of seeing a preview and being able to swipe left/right between photos.

I need space to make space not make doubles. “Not enough local space. Try removing some items from your device”. I thought the point of this was that it gets uploaded to the Nord Locker Cloud to save on space from ones device. Apparently it just makes copies and saves it double on to the same device but it’s just now encrypted 🤦‍♂️ definitely needs works. Great idea but bad execution.

Ipad wish list. I have to say i hate the ipad apps that don’t rotate to a horizontal view - and just stay in the portrait mode. Do developers ever test this apps out on IPads? Ok.. its not going to be very useful on an ipad until that feature gets implemented.. please hurry developers!

Works fine on iPhone 14 Pro Max. No problems so far. Secure. Good price for 1TB of storage.

A lot of potential. Needs work to live up to the name. I like Nord, but this app needs some work to get it up to the reputation its name implies. 1: For gods sake, add multiple file and multiple folder upload capability, I’m not uploading 400gbs one file at a time. Until then, this app is quite unusable for me, unfortunately. 2: Thumbnails. It is extremely difficult to entertain the idea of this app being a primary backup solution (which was my plan) when I can’t tell my files apart. It’s 2023, my refrigerator shows thumbnails. 3: I’d like to see more robust preview support. More formats and less restrictions (50mb limit for PDF’s, for example) 4: Here’s where I get absurd and unreasonable: add a night mode, all the cool kids are doing it. All in all I really want to love the app. This app feels like it’s almost there, it just needs a couple things to be a joy to work with.

…1 file at a time?!. Ridiculous. Had I known it only lets you upload 1 file at a time I would’ve looked elsewhere for cloud storage. Getting my money back. This is absurd.

App has been broken for about a year already. This app stopped working on the iPhone about a year ago at this point and it still hasn’t been fixed. I can’t open the app.

Can’t slide through photos. One star review until you are able to slide through photos/documents. This is a total bummer and makes this app useless to me. :/ also it would be nice to have a slightly faster opening rate.

I forgive MOST of this app’s problems.. Most of this app’s problems are easily forgivable for reasons related to the fact that NordLocker takes security measures that others don’t, which slows it down relative to other cloud services. But one problem with this app that I can’t forgive is that you can’t yet upload or download an entire file folder on this mobile app. If you have a file folder that you want to upload, you have to create a folder in NordLocker with the same name and manually upload every, single, file. The time this takes is painfully tedious. Perhaps this is another security measure taken to prevent people with malicious intent to download too much personal information? But even then you should still be able to at least upload a file folder, and on the desktop app you can already upload and download whole folders, so I don't see why this is a problem and why its not a feature yet. Fingers crossed it will become a feature, if it does I can easily see myself changing from three to five stars.

App doesn’t work. Files just won’t download, all I get is an endless spinning circle. A progress bar is a much needed change to see if anything is even happening on this app or if it’s just a red herring

DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE - locker is awful. If you already have it & within 30 days. Cancel and get your $$ back. Nord Pass & Nord VPN (imo) are both good apps. Nord locker is slow and the worst part. Worst part BY FAR is there are no thumbnails. None. So how in the world are you going to see your pictures if you put gb’s of photos &. Vids in here. It would take 7-8+ hours to find anything. It’s truly mind boggling. If you have it, you don’t use it. I am a fan of Nord, this is so far below useable though it frustrates me that I paid for it. There’s not one individual anywhere on Gods’ green earth that is happy with Nord Locker.

Desperate need of image preview like in photos app. I like being able to have this so I can transfer things across my pc to my iPhone. I mainly use it to transfer photos, which is maid very hard by the lack of a feature to scroll between photos in the preview mode. Would also do with more sort view options in the main view!

A choir to use…. NordVPN is pretty great most of the time, but their other apps such as the locker are very lacking. NordLocker has you upload files one at a time. I can’t select an entire album of photos and set them to upload over the next hour or more. It appears the iPhone app lacks the option to share lockers from the phone. I can only view shared lockers and when I click on share a locker it shows me who I have it shared to but not an option to actually share it…Tresorit is simply better on every level right now.

Old reviews not applicable. The app has been revamped. Works great, but hope they quickly add multi-select on files being moved here. Folder select would help too. Now, I need to pick and choose one file at a time. Zipped files could work around this, but harder on iOS to do this way.

It’s a start…. I’m trying my best to like this app, after waiting so long for it to reappear in the App Store. My main problem is the consistent need to re-enter my master password after launching the app. My master password is quite complex, so I have to go to my password manager, copy it, then paste it into the app just to get going. After that, there is very little that I can do with the app other than viewing files, and to do this you have to do it one by one. For example, if you have a folder full of .pdf’s, you have to open and close to view each file. There’s no option to quickly swipe between files. There isn’t any thumbnail caching either, so if your files have generic names, you don’t know what you’re opening. For now, I’m sticking with Tresorit. I know things will get better as time goes on, but right now it’s not worth the hassle to use this app. With having to enter my master password every time, I’m better off using the website. It at least caches thumbnails and allows me to quickly swipe through files. It’s an OK start, but definitely could be 1000x better. I love Nord, and they do great work, but this app isn’t ready for prime time yet.

Changing my review. With the new update the app actually works. Kudos. You should make it part of nord vpn.

Happy it’s finally here!. I’ve been excited for the iOS release. I’m giving the app 5 stars based on the fact it’s finally here lol. I’m optimistic the current bugs can be worked out. People need to be patient with a brand new app. I’m ditching Tresorit!

Beyond frustrating. The app sometimes won’t even open won’t upload photos I’ve put on but now I can’t upload anything else I’ve used 3 gigs a total of 0%of the space and it’s taken me hours and hours to do that I’ve been giving it breaks for days restarting my devices it works better on my Samsung phone apple tablet is basically unusable. I bought it cause they marked it way down but instead of doing that and adding more customers on to a poor product they should have fixed the issues before giving out such a deal very bad business in my opinion. Honestly deserves zero stars prob should be looked into by the better business bureaus or something cause it just absolutely terrible. Save your money save your headache they should have paid me to use this and more then I paid them.

Terrible Interface. Uses a web browser as the interface and its slow and clunky. This needs to have its own interface.

One file at a time?. I get 1TB of storage but I can only upload 1 file at time?! Am I missing something? I payed a subscription but there’s not much point if I can’t upload batches of files. Is this going to be fixed?

Useless on an ipad.. The software only opens in portrait mode. My ipad is fixed in landscape mode, as are many ipads when on a stand or folder. I do so hope you will incorporate that simple code to make it work like it does on the iphone in both orientations… then I can give it more stars and a better review.

App is so lazy. This app is just a container for a safari tab… it’s so lazy that I won’t be using this, when I’m looking for an app, I wanted a native app experience, this type of app is rubbish and a total waste of time. NordVPN and NordPass is better but the nord account login page is still routed to Safari which is not ideal, I’m not looking to use safari when it’s possible for a native app experience, please change this or I won’t even use this, if it’s possible for a 0 star, I will rate it 0.

way too slow. I love Nord’s VPN service and I was excited to use NordLocker but unfortunately it’s way too slow for practical use. Both the desktop and iPhone app take way too long to load after logging in and everything just seems.. clunky. If I’m uploading a photo from my camera-roll it just hangs on the upload screen and seems to never finish. I have paid for a two year subscription so I guess I will have to persevere but the user experience needs a serious overhaul.

Crashes. The Nordlocker App Crashes my Macbook Pro as well it logs me out after the master password is taken, have reset the password, still crashes 🤦‍♂️

Total Garbage!. What a piece of absolute garbage the NordLocker app is. Nord should be ashamed to admit that they produced such useless garbage. I was very pleased to be a paying subscriber to their VPN app but now I’m definitely cancelling my subscription considering they’ve ruined their reputation by making this NordLocker app. I had to spend a ton of time and energy (that I’ll never get back) to try and get the app to work and it’s such garbage that I had to give up. Totally useless garbage app!

Keeps crashing/locking. Seems like a good idea, other nord products work wonderfully but this one keeps crashing/locking after uploading a single file.

Needs improvement. Files upload is slow as hell. No option to select multiple files to delete or move them. No option to see the images preview, making it completely useless for media storage. Cmon nord team, you can do better

A web browser?. I expect a much better product than a web browser client. Especially since you charge a monthly fee for the service.

Nothing more than a web browser. Literally all it does is open a web browser to the NordLocker website. Nothing more. Super disappointing, it’s barley even a app. You would be better off to just bookmark the page. What the he’ll NordLocker? What was the thought here?

Lacking features. I wish it had image previews and being able to rotate videos and gifs to fill your screen like in YouTube. Having to download everything constantly is a bit annoying aswell. It doesn’t take too long though. The desktop app takes forever to sync files to the cloud so I can’t access some of my files on my phone right now until it’s done syncing.

Not competive crude app. On the positive side, you get 3GB of free cloud storage and it’s zero-knowledge encryption system similar to MEGA cloud storage and has a corresponding Mac, Windows, and Android app. On the negative side, the free plan is not competitive in the least; MEGA includes 20GB in it’s free plan. One would think additional free storage would be provided to paid Nord VPN members but that’s not the case. The paid plans for increased storage are also not competitive. Lastly, this mobile app is just a wrapper for a web app and very crude compared to other services. As the service is in beta, hopefully improvements will be made.

Nord Locker. I love Nord pass and Nord VPN. It works perfectly. I cannot say the same about NordLocker the app crashes and doesn’t upload all of my files. It’s disappointing when a company that I love puts out a product like this.

I’m surprised. Wow it’s bad. Not an actual app. Very misleading. Needs HELP!

Where is my new recovery key?. You send me an email March 15, 2022 telling me “you will need a new recovery key” and all your app does is send me into an endless loop. Good bye and we are f’ing DONE!!!

No Security on the App. Overall this is extremely disappointing. There is no entry app security. Once you enter your master password (which is great) the app stays logged in and all you have to do is go back to it and all your files are there. There needs to be a way to turn on app security (face/Touch ID or PIN code) to keep you from seeing your entire encrypted folder if you go away from the app and come back 10 or 15 minutes later. I am disappointed. This is so simple it should have been in there. I hope they add it.

Unusable. Every time I open the app, it takes me to a web view and asks for master password. After I enter password and press done, web view redirects to app, then app immediately redirects to web view and asks for the password again. I never got past that web view.

Does not work with MacBook. I followed the steps repeatedly to install. It simply is not compatible with Mac. These grifters should withdraw it from the market

Why did you even release this?. It’s just a web page container.

Master password issue. I can’t even login to my account… everything works for email and password until it asks for my master password… I have it, even double checked by signing into NordPass with the master but this one keeps saying it’s wrong, and it won’t even accept the recovery code…

Feels like an Afterthought. Less “beta” and more “something Mike threw together over the weekend”. It’s just a wrapper for a web app - a web app that isn’t even designed for Safari. And I can’t help but wonder what unknown security & privacy flaws are introduced by using a browser as a platform.

Nord is usually great but this one…. …misses the mark. It’s basically a web browser right now, so not really an app. They just need one of their good developers to spend a couple months on it and it’ll be great.

Not an App, it’s just a link to the website. This is not an app! When you open it you are redirected via an internal browser to the website lol. Just book mark the website in your preferred browser i.e. Safari, chrome, Brave, ect.

NordLocker Good, iOS App Bad. It’s literally just a persistent web app through a browser. Design an actual file manager that integrates with iOS files and such, that I would use. As it is I might as well just use safari to add the web client to my homepage, the UI would be better. Other than that I’ve had no issues with NordLocker on Mac or Windows, or on the web.

App is lacking. Unfortunately just a browser. Please add the ability to open lockers from other shared drives like Dropbox or OneDrive.

Not a real app. Opening this just opens a web browser and gives you a web interface for NordLocker. Why would I use the app instead of just the website?

Personal Data at Risk. This app requires javascript to be enabled. This is a hazard in and of itself. But the why Nord wants javascript is more insidious…Nord uses it to load Google Analytics on your machine. Guess what? Kiss your personal privacy goodbye!

Syncing problems. That Nord is in a pro-privacy jurisdiction, they don’t keep logs of you, and keys are non-custodial all go a long way to winning my trust in the company. I hope they submit to an independent third-party audit of their security protocol (for locker) once the software is reliably stable. But I’m having problems syncing across machines. Hope I can solve this soon. Will change my review if the Nord team can help me resolve the issue. Hopeful.

Terrible ‘App’: it’s only a browser. When I try to login, it opens a browser window. That’s it. I see my locker through a Safari browser window. What a horrible app. How could NordPass and NordVPN be such excellent products and then we get this piece. Horrible app — do not waste your time.

I can’t even log in. When I’m logging in it opens an in-app browser and after I finish the process I just see the locker inside it and it never goes back to the app.

What a failure. No idea why Nord release a ridiculous app like that this is not even funny i use NordVpn for 2 years and very happy with it but this all got me scared 😂
