Don’t download it’s a waste of time.. I downloaded this app because my remote is not working. I entered the app and as soon as I opened it it said “buy premium”. I did not want to so I pressed the X button I connected it to my tv and i tried to click the down button but it then put the premium thing again. That is when I actually read it. It said if you buy premium then you will be able to actually use it. Please do not buy it it’s a waste of time.

Paid for Forever Subscription Problem. I purchased the forever subscription and over the past few months it’s been extremely buggy. I have to “restore my purchase” ever time I enter the app. Now as of this last update I “restore my purchase” but it doesn’t actually restore anything and the pop up to buy the subscription keeps popping up every time I try to use the app. Very frustrating. Needs to fix this ASAP.

Way too expensive. I really hate all the apps that let you download the app for free, then make you pay money to do anything. As soon as I tried clicking a button to control the TV, it was like “alright, pay us money”. I’d appreciate it if they told me about costs before I downloaded it and set up the account and Wi-Fi stuff. It’s so annoying. It’s also way too expensive for me to even consider. $6 a week?

Very useful. It’s a very usual app I just wish you didn’t have too turn the tv on by hand first before you can connect too the tv

DONT BE FOOLED. This app isn’t explicitly claiming to be an official Roku product, but anyone who downloads it and doesn’t know any better would think it is, like myself at first. So of course I (regretfully) gave it access to devices on my local network. After slamming me with payment plan offers I figured something was up and uninstalled. This was also a sponsored app so it was the first result when I searched “Roku Remote”, looking for the official version. Many people have already been scammed in the app reviews and it’s time to take action and remove this from the App Store.

Looks nice but limited to internet. If you have a tv that is running off of cable or wired connection this won’t work. Only if it is running off WiFi. I bought this to use in hotels where the remotes are often lacking. But the tvs are mostly all hardwired into cable not streaming over the internet. So this is basically a brick.

Price. I thought it was going to be free like the others and I was like ok and I read reviews saying it gives full control and it sounded good, so I download it and everything costs money for a second I thought EA made it. But if your willing to spend money it I bet it’s probably good, that’s just why I didn’t give it a 1 star but I’m 14 so I jus have no money so no hate.

App was working well till app update. I started using the app and bought it and now with the update it wants to charge me again. Do not get app. I got app back in March 2023. Today app came up with update and trying to charge again anual membership.

Local tv. I appreciate being able to scan and find all sorts of things on the TV. However, I would also like to be able to view local Detroit television. How can I do that? I’d appreciate anything and everything you might be able to tell me about the possibility for doing that thank you so much.

Payment. I had lost my remote and remembered about the app and decided to redownload it, in the past usage of the app it was complete free. With this being said I was still under the impression that it was still free since there way no other labels saying otherwise. Once getting my tv connected I clicked on the arrow button to scroll as I did the same thing in the past. No matter what buttons I push there seems to be no way around having to make a monthly payment. If the app is not going to be free for use then there should be a better recognition of the matter. I’m extremely disappointed that I not only did I lose my remote, but my alternate is no longer free.

It has a problem. I install this app to be a control remote (obviously) because I lose mi control remote and this said that I need the control remote to connected and I install this app for be the control remote.

Teribble. I have been using this since my remote broke which is only been a few weeks and the app wanted to update so I went to update it and it won’t let me use the remote without updating it and when I went there to update it, it would not let me update it. Please tell me why or I will sadly not be using your app anymore

Does not work. I paid for the apps trial and was able to connect to my tv(according to the app). However, every time I pressed a button on the virtual remote, the pop up to pay for additional services came up. The app never worked on my Hisense google tv. Avoid this app, it will keep asking you to pay more even after you’ve already paid.

Worthless Scam. The ad says 3–day trial then yearly subscription. Don’t fall for it like I did. I saw on my bill within 5 minutes that there was a pending charge. I couldn’t get the remote to work on my TV. I didn’t use it for a single function. I messaged them immediately and they said they would “review” my case. My card was charged within 30 minutes of the messaging and they never so much as acknowledged why my review failed. The subscription I don’t want is scheduled to end the exactly one year from the day of first contact. The 3-day trial is even a lie. Don’t waste your money, find a legitimate option (this isn’t it).

(Mostly) useless app. This is only a good choice if your tv is already set up to the wifi. What sense does it make to have this ONLY connect though wifi? No bluetooth, physical cable options, nothing. If I could connect my tv to the network I wouldn’t need this app bc I could definitely scroll over and select the app I want to watch. AND it’s a subscription?? I’ll just go buy a remote. 😐

Waste of my time.. I got this bc my tv is a Roku tv and i can’t find the remote atm, most of the Roku apps on the App Store are free and easy to use, when I got this one, I was a little confused on why it had “in app purchases” but most apps have that anyways, I downloaded the app and opened it to use it, connected it to my tv, and as soon as it connected, it popped up with “pay to use” or “use a free trial”. So you download it to pay for it then you can use it? It is really cool that it doesn’t haft to be a Roku tv to use to app, like you can have a Vizio tv and this app would work…if you pay for it.

Generally Confused.. Ok so obviously I got this app for reasons like if I can’t find my actual remote or I don’t feel like using my actual remote.. This is the thing though, when I downloaded the app and got connected, every button I clicked the premium thing popped up. I couldn’t even use the arrows. So, you have to use pay otherwise you can’t use the app. Why would this be free to download if you have to pay in order to even use the arrow pad thing?. That says a lot…

This is a SCAM, don't bother paying to use your Roku. This was the first app I saw when I looked up "Roku Remote" so I absentmindedly downloaded only to see that every time I tried to connect to the TV, it would require some "premium membership." You shouldn't have to do that, you already are paying for Roku. Luckily my dad had the ACTUAL app (which we've been using the app because of course we misplaced the remote), and it is NOT this one. Be careful not to accidentally pay money for something that you can just use for free

Normally works well. Recently I’ve been having issues with it not turning my tvs on or off when it previously did. Now it made me update it and I did only for it to keep telling me to update it. I’m currently not able to even use it with my subscription!

Worst remote app ever. First of all they make you pay just to press one single button and that’s just terrible you need a premium upgrade for everything and it’s the worst app I’ve ever downloaded and I’m never getting this remote app again I was gonna download this one because it had a touchpad but now that I found out it’s just a stupid one that you have to pay premium for I’m just going to stick to my normal Roku remote app NEVER AGAIN

Always a dumb update. While some of the updates have been nice. It seems like this ap is ALWAYS updating and the updates always get messed up. So now the on my phone isn’t updating no matter how many times I try to. It also doesn’t let me click “maybe later” and use the remote. Kinda defeats the purpose of this app when it doesn’t let you use the remote on the app. So you have to dig up your old physical remote in the abyss of your couch because the app won’t work. I wish they’d just design a nice remote and leave the updates alone. Or limit how many times they update it within a time period of 6 months or something. Because this is frustrating.

Percent subscription. I loved this remote until I bought the permanent subscription a couple of months ago, and instead of the app restoring my subscription when I hit restore subscription. It says my subscription has been fixed; however, the pop-up screen that asks the consumer to subscribe to a monthly subscription or pay again for the lifetime subscription keeps popping up and will not allow me to use the remote! This blows!

Great for families.. Super convenient, can’t beat having access to a remote when your toddlers lose them every time you get a new one.

Roku virtual, remote. This is the best app ever I accidentally dropped my actual Roku remote in the toilet and I downloaded this app and I can actually control the TV with my phone so everybody download this app now if you accidentally dropped your remote in water or if you accidentally break it just download the app is the best app I promise you I will not lie to you download this app now

Great for when you don’t feel like digging in the couch crevices to find the remote. Great alternative to having to stick your hand in the back of the couch

This App Isnt A Remote--Its An Obnoxious Paywall. You cannot use ANY of the actual remote functions without paying for the app. Let it be known that the reason why I even downloaded the app is because the remote that was actually purchased fails on me on a whim. The ONLY functions that appear to be useable without a ludicrous paywall are screen-casting. If my goal was to screencast from my phone I would just buy a Chromecast and save myself the trouble. Don't advertise this as a FREE APP and a REMOTE if the sole function you are advertising is NOT FREE. Get a grip, Roku.

Are you actually kidding me?. I downloaded this cause it was the first thing that came up when I was trying to pause my tv, but lost the remote. I downloaded it and it worked perfectly to connect, I pressed the button and it paused the tv fine. Used it to unpause, still fine. When I tried to pause again it kept giving me premium advertisements, I was like, “ no. I wanna pause my tv bru. “ I keep trying and getting more advertisements, and I realized, You can’t use it without premium. Seriously? Premium to use a basic remote? After I place this review I am deleting this useless app.

Average remote. It honestly works amazing. I just don’t like how you need to connect the remote after the tv is on. It would be nice to have the app connected to the tv so that I can turn it on with the app.

Troubled start but good ending. I bought this app some time ago and I got the lifetime- but a week later the app has gone through some refresh or update and I lose all feature and I though I got rip- so I got their Facebook through the app and I made my obvious anger about the situation and didn’t use the app for like 2-3 month but they Finally respond and all I needed to do was press the restore purchase and bam! Got my lifetime back… so I feel stupid but also a little frustrated how long it took to get a respond but I’m glad I didn’t payed for a second lifetime and I can use the app againz

I wish it could be zero stars. I downloaded the app and before being able to use ANY function of the remote it said I had to purchase a membership first. I declined against the monthly membership and chose to just pay $40 and purchase a lifetime membership. Fast forward two months later and they have updated the app, to use any function I must update to the app. But in order to update the app I have to purchase a membership once again, because this app somehow forgot that I already purchased it. Zero stars, this app is a 100% RIP OFF!!!

The ads. This would be a good remote if you pay for no ads but if you don’t reducing volume just 3 notches from 30 gets you and ad and from then on it takes forever to get to 9. Took me a few minutes to actually watch tv at my volume level. Sorry I probably will delete it and use the actual remote. Easier to walk across a room then watch minutes of ads

Disconnects When Leaving the App & Expensive. I am a college student and I forgot my Xbox one controller at my parent’s house. When I went back to my dorm, I realized I left the controller and looked for a universal remote until I could my controller back. I couldn’t connect through the Xbox app for some reason so it was very frustrating until I found this app. I thought this universal remote would be PERFECT because it connects to my Xbox which is nearly impossible to find for a universal remote. It works, yes, but there are still issues that make it impossible to like nor want to pay for weekly. The biggest issue is that I have to keep the app open in order to use it. I can’t respond to message or email or do anything else on my phone because the minute I leave the app, the remote stops working. It’ll still be connected (it’ll say that it’s still connected) but none of the remote buttons will work. I think this app has potential, but it’s needs work still. Other apps are able to keep remotes connected regardless of if you leave the app. I don’t know if that’s a bug but it’s aggravating enough to make me regret purchasing it. The app should also be free in my opinion. I pay $6.49 per week (Approx $26 per month) when a universal remote is cheaper and guaranteed to work. Overall based on pricing and quality, I don’t recommend this app unless you need a temporary fix like I did.

They Actually Work. A lot of TV remote apps wanna glitch out and “fail to work” when you don’t pay them, these guys actually work.

No Back button. The application is really good and works perfectly, but it does not have a reverse button (back), which is a shame, because for this reason I need to look for another app, because the only way to exit the content is by clicking home, I hope it solves this in the future version

Remote ConPhone. I’ve been looking for my Roku remote and I completely gave up until I decided to download the app and utilize the phone for all its worth. Best thing since pizza

Update. Remote won't allow me to connect ! It's worked fine up until now. I've had it since 10/23! I've paid the year charge and I'm still having issues. App is asking me to update. When I try to update, the App Store only has the option to open the app, this is unexceptionable!!

Awesome for a free universal remote!. My family is always losing remotes so we downloaded this app for our smart lg TV. I use it to power it on and volume up and volume down when they lose the remote. They get so mad that I always have access. It does have a lot of ads but I don’t mind because I’m only using it secondary when my kids usually hide the remote in the couch or a random toy bin. It connects via Bluetooth very easily to my iPhone

App Update. I love using the Roku app, but since this latest update the update pop-up won’t go off my screen so I can’t use the app remote. It asks if I want to update or maybe later. When I hit the update it opens my app to update and I already updated, so it just gives the open option. If in the Roku app I hit maybe later, it does nothing, but the pop-up staying on my screen is preventing me from accessing my Roku app.

What in the world.. I purchased back in February the lifetime benefits. Everything was working fine up until today. Where it started asking me if I wanted to purchase but I thought the entire point was the lifetime membership. And I can’t get ahold of customer service. If somebody can help. I would like to ask for either a refund of my benefits back. Since it said lifetime. I have receipts from when I bought it.

Screen Mirroring not working with HiSense TV. The controller works well enough, but I paid specifically for the screen mirroring feature to cast to my HiSense TV. Whenever I try to use the feature, it does not work, even when the app in connected to my tv. Wish this feature would work as advertised.

Fine but not good. Requires you to buy a subscription just to use its advertised features and kinda glitched even after deleting my tv kept going to the same volume would not recommend

Good app but has bugs. Bought this ago to have a backup remote. And I was really impressed with it when I bought it. But now after an update a few days ago, it now doesn’t want to connect to any TV. Paid good money for the yearly subscription but for it to only work for alittle while. App has great potential but it’s not working.

Doesn’t work as an alternative remote. I just wanted an alternative remote to the physical one since it stopped working. My tv is already Roku but this app does not allow me to use it as a remote alternative because it forces me to pay a Roku subscription which I don’t need since my TV is already Roku. If there is a way to overpass that subscription screen it has been impossible to find so its a bad designed app and not user friendly.

5 star reviews are fake. 7 dollars a week !! You’ve got to be joking ! You can’t even use the app till you start paying. These universal remote apps are getting out of control I actually feel bad for the morons that would purchase that and upset with them at the same time that they would actually support such a ridiculous app.

This is not easy at all!. After 48 hours of having this app, the only thing I can do is change the volume. I can’t change xfinity channels and I have paired the app to my device 14 times already and every time I go to turn it on again with the app I can’t because it says it can’t reach my TV. Then I have to use the original remote to turn on the TV and at that point I can only change the volume. I just sent a bunch of videos to someone that’s in the tech Support department. I will come back and change this review if things change.

I’m confused here. If I am hacked then I know who to point to and give the complaint too. So we have ti pay for this app but all the others are free. Updated with things we can’t and won’t notice is what this maker said. That’s crazy

Update menu glitch. App worked fine. Now there is a popup menu that keeps telling me to get the new version. I got the new version and it continues to pop up. It doesn’t not allow me to skip the menu. The app is unusable. I have restarted the phone. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing works. Don’t buy this app until they fix the glitch. Very disappointing.

Unable to use app. I get a pop-up for a new update with options to “update now” or “later”, however later isn’t really an option. The pop-up window just pops right back up. To make things more frustrating, there isn’t an update available. I have the latest version. So I cannot use the app at all. Please get a handle on your pop-up message. If “later” isn’t actually an option, remove it from your messaging. Provide an update so I can get around the pop-up or disable it please!!

Doesn’t work. I have tried three of these apps so far and none of them work. I was under the impression (for all the apps) that you could connect the app to your TV even if the remote is lost but you can’t. The only reason I need the app is because the original remote is lost. What’s the point of the app if you need the remote to allow access? Doesn’t make sense. Plus you have to pay for it? No thanks, deleted a minute after downloading.

3 day trial. I tried the app, under the impression I was getting a 3-day free trial as stated once the app was downloaded. It charged me $34.99 +tax immediately after clicking on the 3-day free trial. Apparently there is no way of receiving a refund through Apple. Not impressed.

Good enough. Works great when you lose the remote otherwise a hassle. Turns off whatever your watching when you connect the remote to the tv so that’s pretty annoying and makes me not want to use the app unless I have to.

Fraudulent App, do not install. BEWARE, THIS APP HAS NO REAL FREE OPTIONS WHATSOEVER!!! Unless you sign up for a free trial, or pay for this app, it does not work at all. You can't even control your tv with the up and down toggle, every single button opens a free trial sign up. OH and lest we forget, if you wanted to provide any feedback to the developers of this application, you can't. Go to settings and the only button for feedback is broken and does not open. I hope apple sees this and removes it from the app store. If I could, I would give this zero stars. The people who made this app are scammers for sure.

Asking me to subscribe when I already paid for a year subscription. Idk if this is a glitch with the new update or what, but I paid for a year subscription in May. I should be good to go until May 2024, but for some reason today when I go to use the app it won’t let me turn on the TV or use the remote in anyway without requiring me to sign up for a new subscription. I tried restoring purchase, I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling, I even tried signing up for the free trial just to be able to use the remote today and it’s not working. It just keeps popping up with the sign up for a new subscription page. Please fix this ASAP, I can’t use my TV at the moment because I’ve lost my physical remote.

Don’t download. You need to pay for the remote when most of the remotes it offers are already apps. Like I use a Roku tv I just downloaded this because it was the first one on the page. I regret wasting my time

New Update Error. Even though I’ve constantly tried what I could with the app, it’s not allowing me past the “ New Update” Screen. I paid for a whole year and can’t use it now, so basically a waste of money.

Will not work. Frustrating to use. Doesn’t work don’t waste time. Plus 7.99 a week is very steep. I’ll just buy a replacement remote on Amazon for 10 bucks.

Money grabbing app. Unusable without a subscription, which they WILL NOT let you cancel after the free trial. Not even the remote. They know they can charge you money because they’re one of the few that works with so many TV brands. Only reason they have 5 stars is because before you even look for you device, you either rate 5 or the app messes with you.

Deceptive Unethical Business Practices. The app will lie to you and say it found your TV, then try and sign you up for a subscription service. I started the free trial, and *then* learned the app had not actually found my TV & was unable to connect. This app’s creators should be deeply embarrassed of what they’ve created.

NOT free. You’re better off downloading the official Roku app so you don’t have to be charged just to use a basic tv function. It’s not advertised anywhere that you have to buy to use it. The price point of $35 is ridiculous for permanent use. You could buy a couple of remotes for that.

Update now. I won’t let me use it , it keeps saying to update and then when I go back to the up the new update icon keeps showing up and won’t let me use the app it’s annoying bc I lost the controller and I been using this app for the longest now it isn’t working … as if it their was a glitch or some .

bad app 👎🏾. It’s a free app but then you download it to only be prompted to PAY to use the remote and “other features” through a subscription that is definitely too expensive for a remote app on my phone. I couldn’t even tap one of the buttons on the app without the prompt to pay again.

Not a free app. Unless u only use it for a day with their 3 day free trial. This app is soooo annoying!! You can’t even use it unless you pay $9 a month for premium. Well guess what? ALL the features are PREMIUM. It says ‘unlock the remote for only $9 and something a month.’ Like what tha’’’’. This should be listed under a paid category.

Update Bug. Keeps asking to update AFTER already updating. Deleted the app and reinstalled it and still does the same thing.

👎. I downloaded it because I need a new remote and I heard about these apps. And it wouldn’t let me use it. I tried to press the “ok” button and it said I had to pay. It kept saying that. So unless you want to pay $13 for an app premium. I don’t recommend this app.

Hirrible. Would turn my TV off but wouldn’t turn it back on the volume worked fine and the fast-forward, etc., but I couldn’t pause. The TV couldn’t figure out where to go to access all of my streaming channels very poorly done the big red buttons with the arrows and all directions didn’t do anything.

Cost money. I’m a little younger so I don’t have any money but I broke the request remote and now my tv is locked I was going to use this but it costs money the normal remote don’t cost so why does this I hope you see this I’m locked out of my tv and I can’t do anything about it.

Keeps trying to recharge you!. Purchased yearly with 3 day free trial Then it kept wanting me to keep trying 3 day free trial and wouldn’t let me use the volume controls although I had already purchased it once. Decided to just cancel subscription and find another app that does tv remote for roku.

$6.99 a week is a joke. The app is nice and very easy to use, however you have to pay $6.99 a WEEK to use anything in the app it’s ridiculous, they even flood the app with ads and you can’t even use it without the premium lol —- good for a onetime use then delete it.

5 star reviews are fake. 7 dollars a week !! You’ve got to be joking ! You can’t even use the app till you start paying. I have been using this since my remote broke which is only been a few weeks and the app wanted to update so I went to update it and it won’t let me use the remote without updating it and when I went there to update it, it would not let me update it. Please tell me why or I will sadly not be using your app anymore

Why do I have to pay???. I downloaded this app expecting a free app that will allow me to use my TV if I lost my remote the second I tried to turn the TV on it asked me to get the monthly payment. They really need to just add special things to put on the remote and that’s the thing you need to pay for. Please make this app free.

Don’t download has to pay. Soon as I downloaded and tried to actually use it, I needed to pay, I don’t want anything exclusive. You can’t even click the power button they’ll take you to the screen with music stating you have to pay

Apple should remove these Apps!!. States it’s free and does not indicate “in-app purchases” . You can’t use it unless you pay! Apple should remove these people from the App Store for “False Advertising”. This is what our society has come to. No integrity any more. Who knows what they install on your phone once you download! Advertisement whoring. Awesome. You download a remote app that doesn’t say ‘in app purchases’ and you can’t press any buttons. You get taken to an ad when you think you’re gonna turn your volume up. Can anyone make something that works without bull$ anymore?

Great app. I was able to connect to my tv easily. It’s quick and simple. I love the screen mirror and casting my videos to the tv. It’s amazing!

I’d give ZERO stars if possible. You cannot use this app at all without paying or signing up for recurring charges. If I wanted to pay for it, I’d go out and replace my missing remote. Lots of ads. Don’t know how there are so many happy customers who paid for this app.

Beware - Free Trial Cannot be Cancelled. The app works okay, but it will not let you cancel the trial subscription even if you attempt to do so before the subscription fee is charged. So there is no “free” trial - as soon as you agree to a subscription you will be stuck with it, which seemed pretty sketch / scammy to me.

Nowhere to cancel free trial on app. Downloaded the app, but it never actually connected to my smart tv so the app is useless. Now I can’t find anywhere to cancel my free 3-day trial because that’s what it made you do to be able to use anything on the app. Emailed customer support but haven’t heard anything back. Seems to be a scam to me.

Rip off. I paid the unlimited $35 fee and they updated it and now charge a monthly fee of $30. It worked great the few months I used it but I would rather go buy a new roku remote every time I lose it instead of pay for this. I feel like I got ripped off.

Does not work. Trying to connect it to my TV works maybe 10% of the time and once it does, the remote still does nothing. Cannot change apps, cannot turn the TV on or off. Absolute waste of my money, its staggering how something that is not remotely functional can be released

First time user. I’m old and technically challenged. I was able to connect on first try.

Great but not good at the same time. Works amazing but now it doenst as it tells me that I need to download a new version then I do it and it’s still doenst work. The all asks for a new version frequently so it’s really annoying + it didn’t work now and I paid for the whole version for life time and now it doenst work

Does not work. I paid for the apps trial and was able to connect to my tv(according to the app). However, every time I pressed a button on the virtual remote, the pop up to pay for additional services came up. The app never worked on my Hisense google tv. Avoid this app, it will keep asking you to pay more even after you’ve already paid.

Average remote. It honestly works amazing. I just don’t like how you need to connect the remote after the tv is on. It would be nice to have the app connected to the tv so that I can turn it on with the app.

Looks nice but limited to internet. If you have a tv that is running off of cable or wired connection this won’t work. Only if it is running off WiFi. I bought this to use in hotels where the remotes are often lacking. But the tvs are mostly all hardwired into cable not streaming over the internet. So this is basically a brick.

Works. Does what it says I can do. And with about any current Tv.
