Best game series ever!. Do yourself a favor and immerse yourself in this fascinatingly dark yet interesting world. The puzzles are clever, the story is intense, the callbacks and Easter eggs to other games in the franchise is next level, and you can tell that the team who make these games pour their hearts and souls into them, something that app developers nowadays should take cues from! I've loved these games for years and you really should give them a try even if you don't typically play escape room type games. Much love from a long time fan, Rusty Lake!

The Best Game I’ve Ever Played. I was on a hunt through the App Store for a puzzle-based escape room for about a month. Of the 10-12 different developers I’ve tried, not a single one can hold a candle to the genius of Rusty Lake. The originality alone would put it on the top spot, but the great puzzles, artwork that is both sophisticated and simple, and the plot that is clear enough to understand it, but still is confusing enough for personal aha moments make it shoot past the competition. Even the details are perfect: the anonymity of the animal-headed people , the recurring images of fish, Laura, clocks, Harvey, cubes, etc., and the simply inspired use of famous paintings. I loved seeing the pieces of the puzzle fall into place as I uncovered the story. Another great part about this game is that if I wait a while, I can replay all the puzzles, and I usually make a new realization every time! I can tell how much the developers care about telling the story instead of making money on cheap content, unlike the ad-loaded, mindless games I used to play. I have played nearly every game in the series already, including the premium ones, and I can’t wait to see what happens next at Rusty Lake! Also, thank you so much.

LOVE THIS GAME. This game was so fun and refreshing. It was a mixture of surrealism, macabre imagery, and creative puzzles and problem solving. It was creepy and bizarre, which I loved. I had to look up a few things when I was stuck. It did crash a few times (had to restart a level because I was getting a black screen). But these instances were minor and the game worked great the vast majority of the time. I’m going to play all of their other games now because I enjoyed this one so much!

The best 9 course meal. EVER.. Thank you for releasing the entire series in one package for us rabid Cube Escape/Rusty Lake fans. All these years later I am flabbergasted that this series was and is still F-R-E-E. I just want to thank you cuz I think it still ranks as one of THE best gifts I’ve ever received! Black humor, intense story telling, wonderful character development, incredible artwork, and probably one of the best musical scores out there. Oh yeah, did I mention the PUZZLES?! Quirky, funny, gross, thought provoking, creepy in the best way possible and always thoroughly enjoyable.

Absolutely phenomenal. Rusty Lake Cube Escape Collection is an absolute mind-bender of a game- in the best possible way. The story is amazing, I was engrossed by what was to come next as I was solving the puzzles and trying my best to escape from every room. I also commend them on their great walkthroughs. When I got stuck it was really easy to go to the settings menu and choose the option to view a walkthrough, which takes you to their website and shows you a walkthrough video. It is very easy to see the solution or even just a hint as to how to solve the thing you are stuck on in the walkthrough videos. This allows the player to get the help they need while still enjoying the experience and feel like they are doing most of the puzzle solving on their own. These games are not too difficult and not too easy, in other words they are accessible for everyone. I commend Rusty Lake for creating a beautiful game that is not only entertaining, but makes you think as well, and remember the experience long into the future. Even though I played through the whole series, I will definitely be back to play these again and get all the achievements I missed! Truly, as the game states, “the past is not even past,” and you really feel that way when you are done playing! I recommend this game to anyone who loves puzzles, stories, and wants a unique challenge!

I LOVE Rusty Lake, probably too much. I love every single game Rusty Lake has put out, and have played all of them (except Albert). It sounds silly, but these games came to me at a really dark time in my life and helped me in a lot of ways. As far as I’m concerned, these people are geniuses. The artwork is stunning, the intricate web tying the characters and settings together is immaculate, and I frankly cannot recommend these games enough. I love the morbidity, the darkness, but also the humor. I often play one of these games when I’m having a tough day to make myself feel better, because the Vanderbooms have some problems that make mine seem elementary.

My FAVORITE escape/point and click games.. I’ve never written a review for an app before but I feel so strongly about these games. I used to work at an escape room as a game master, and I’ve played every escape game you could imagine. These games are not just great, but EXPONENTIALLY better than any others I’ve played. The story is cryptic and thrilling and it never feels just like filler. The games are actually quite long and the puzzles are so much fun to figure out. Overall, the amount of effort and love that the developers put into these games shows and I hope they continue to make more! Rusty Lake fan for life :)

Absolute favorite game. THIS is what gaming should be. I have loved every single game Rusty Lake puts out. I bought each of these cube escape games individually when they were released and was thrilled to see them put together in one series. I loved playing them again, and it was even more fun this time around. I just played them all and will again many more times, I already know. If you love puzzle games, adventure/mystery games, fantastic graphics, and hours of entertainment, then do not hesitate: get them all! Also highly highly recommend The White Door, Samsara Room, Rusty Lake Paradise, Rusty Lake Hotel, Rusty Lake Roots, and of course Cube Escape Paradox. Seriously, they are all amazing. Not only is it an escape room game, but it’s a series of games and they have lore :D. I’ve been playing Rusty Lake’s games for 2 years now, and as someone who’s really into escape room games, this one and many others really put you to think, and don’t just make you look for tools and fix things, but actually have a way of working. The graphics of the game, the backgrounds, and the characters are all so unique and play their own part across all the games and I’m so happy I was able to come across such amazing pieces of art<3

Best Game ever created. I am a big fan of rusty lake games since I found samsara room. The puzzles amazed me but I had no idea that everything had a meaning and it was all connected. I wanted answers so I started researching and found the cube escape collection. I am amazed! It is the most entertaining and well made game I have ever played! The Plot is incredible, the music is amazing, and the puzzles are challenging enough to make you think and get you creative! I finished all the games but I wish I could forget them all so I could experience the games for the first time all over again. Thank you Rusty Lake for such an amazing creation!!!!!!

GET IT!!. So I never really enjoy the escape room type of games but I was bored on a car ride and it popped up so I thought so would try it out. It turned out to be one of my favorite games ever! Not only does it have an amazing twist in the story but I love the graphics and the detail in some of the clues. I also really enjoyed the birthday level that one was probably my favorite because it brought back old memories of the past levels. So even if you don’t like puzzles or escaping games I think you should try this one out because it’s free and really interesting!👍

OMG OMG OMG LOVE THIS GAMEEEEE. OMG LITERALLY BEST GAME/games EVERRRR. I’m not going to spoil it for new player but the storyline is absolutely AMAZING. Warning for young children and people who are easily scared, there is no inappropriate content, but it can be extremely dark and scary. The main things include jump scares, blood, and dead bodies. Some of it can be disturbing so be careful. But I definitely recommend this game! Also, definitely go in order of how they are placed on the Home Screen, everything will make a LOT more sense, and the storyline is really the best part of this game. If you need help or are stuck, look up the walkthrough! I definitely had to do that in the first one to get the hang of it. I really recommend this game, but remember, this is a horror game, it’s meant to be scary. LOVE THIS GAME!

Highly recommended for lore seekers. Honestly I wasn’t looking for much when I came across this game, just a fun little escape-room-like puzzle game. But when I played the first one I was sucked into the story of Rusty Lake. I played through each game at least three times in a span of a week, got all the achievements on day six, and I haven’t really gotten tired of it at all. Trying to find all the connections across all the games between Laura Vanderboom, Dale Vandermeer, and the various other characters within the story has been really fun so far. Long story short, this is probably one of the greatest series of games I’ve come across in a long time, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves puzzles and a great overarching story

Best game ever. I’m a 33 year old mom and don’t usually play games on my phone, but Samsara Room happened to come across recommendations in the App Store and my kid was asleep so figured why not. I’ve now played almost every single game Rusty Lake offers, including the ones that cost money. I highly recommend this collection. The creators story line took me a minute to catch onto, but wow is it amazing. The graphics are consistent and creative. It’s just the right level of difficulty to stump you but not make you quit and give up. This game is simply brilliant. Please keep the games in this series coming, I will keep playing!

I miss the old Rusty Lake. I have been a die hard Rusty Lake fan for years. I love everything about the games...challenging, grotesque, evolving storylines, uniqueness, etc. And I’ve loved watching them evolve over the years. I’ve never left anything less than a 5* review for their games, and it pains me to do so now, but I feel I must. I feel like the developers lost their focus and tried to go in too many different directions...videos, comics, merchandise, different types of games. And while I appreciate the creativity, they lost sight of what they do best...high end, point and click escape games. They now release a new game maybe once every 2 years...which offers, at best, 1-3 days of gameplay. That is just not enough to hold anyone’s attention and they are letting competitors pass them by. I hope they soon figure out what they want to be, and stick to it. In the meantime, I’ll be spending my time and money on other developers....Forgotten Hill, Lucid Dream, Cotton Games, Snapbreak...to name a few.

Escape room in your pocket. This was the most fun I’ve had with a mobile game in years. I happened upon it after playing several live Escape Rooms and this was a great way to bring that same fun home. I love escape rooms and puzzles. This was quite challenging, but had enough going on that even when I was stuck I was still determined. I would put it down for a few hours and come back, or give to my son, or just restart. I played most of them twice to try to catch anything I missed the first time. Huge variety of puzzles and challenges. Quite macabre intermittently, with a couple jump scares. Occasionally I wished they’d held back, but I suppose that added to the aura. Super fun!!

this is my second time writing a review - its that good. i've been looking for a phone game like this for AGES. and the first 9 chapters are free on this. plus the 10th is free as a separate app. it's insane. i have adhd and this managed to hold my interest and attention for far longer than other games like this. i'm so into the storyline and lore. this game is so well made and so well written. the only reason i can think of to not play this would be if you're sensitive to blood (it's not realistic though) or death/murder. if you're cool with that stuff and like games with mind puzzles and stuff i recommend this so much

favorite game (Spoilers). When I first stumbled upon this series I thought it was just a generic puzzle game but I was wrong. This series of games with a story all uniting each other is amazing, at first I had a hard time figuring out some of the puzzles and still do. No matter how many times I get bored of this game and come back to it it’s still just as hard and entertaining as last time. I still haven’t fully pieced the story together but what I think/ know is that your exploring your memories which are starting to fade away and become distorted from the lake. I’m still confused as who you are when playing as it seems to switch between people like for example Arles but yet again I haven’t pieced together much of the lore behind the game. Great job, would recommend. Also this is my first time leaving a review so it may sound a little weird or not be as good as others but I tried.

Fran Bow Meets Escape Rooms. This is a collection of Escape Room (Cube) games that have previously been individually released, and based on the first few games I’ve finished, it is well worth the download. There’s a story that flows through out, even for ones that seem unrelated. The gameplay and puzzles are very reminiscent of old PC point and click escape games, including its difficulty😳, which is partially due to its psychological horror elements that make for a good mix of common sense and thinking outside the box type puzzles. Horror is also another staple of a lot of classic escape room games and this game is especially impressive because each room is pretty simple, only really showing things that are needed for the puzzles. The horror in this gave me Fran Bow vibes (particularly when the “madness” really kicks in and there’s a visual rumbling) without as much gore and without the horror elements being consistent throughout, which makes when they do happen that much more unnerving if you’ve lowered your guard, and if you haven’t, you’ll be anxious the whole time, worried about when something spooky will happen. 😬 It really adds this sense of being watched and feeling trapped which seems to be what they’re going for thematically. It’s really well done storytelling so far with a lot of symbolism and atmosphere.

Great weird puzzles, incredible music, fascinating lore. My favorite puzzle is trying to figure out the overarching story. The more I play all these games the more I start to piece it together. The low budget cheapness of these games is charming too in its own way. My only negative comment is the sound effects are not great. The music is incredible, to the point that I regularly listen to the soundtrack on its own. Don’t sleep on the Cube Escape music. The puzzles are great because they really feel like dream logic.

Left me wanting more!!. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The plot left a lot of room for imagination and curiosity. It does contain frequent scenes of blood and violence, so I would be aware of that. It’s meant to be spooky, and what I love about the way it does that is that *spoiler* there are episodes where you play as the villain or the spooky character. As for the puzzles, there are several that I had to use the hint for. Unlike some other escape rooms there is a paranormal or fantasy element that means that the products of the puzzles are not always the logical expectation, but that just adds to the intrigue. The only ads in this game were by choice: you watch an ad to get a hint when you’re stuck, and you have no limits to the amounts of hints you can get. What’s great is that there were no pop-up ads whatsoever. It was so refreshing and helped me to have a more immersive experience. I have played some of this franchise’s other games, and if you have as well, you’ll enjoy the concepts, characters, and Easter eggs that carry over from the rest of the series. All in all I loved it. Intriguing storyline, challenging puzzles, and a great experience. I can see myself playing it again.

Yes, this game is real. I had memories of playing Harvey’s Box and Birthday in 2015, when I was in high school and home sick from some kind of fever. During this time I played several Flash games, these two being one of them. I won’t spoil the plot or mood, but I was completely blown away by the way the story emerges through the interactive elements. Maybe it’s just me, but this game goes into my weird memory brain box of things that are detached from my normal reality and I completely forgot that this existed immediately after playing, like some kind of fever dream. Also, 2015 is pretty late for a flash game to be released. So when I heard that all of the Rusty Lake Games were ported to mobile, I immediately downloaded them so that I could play them through in order. What cool concepts and simple and intuitive implementation: this game is truly a fresh take on the point-and-click adventure genre.

My favorite series!. I recommend this series to everyone I know! Hands down my favorite series ever. I love playing these games. The plot and the Twin Peak’s inspiration is probably my favorite thing about this entire series. The characters are awesome too! Dale and Harvey are my absolute favorite. Rusty Lake manages to take a normal escape room game and turn it into a full blown adventure! An amazing time is always guaranteed when playing any of their games! Challenging, fun, and absolutely awesome. If you have the money, definitely check out their other games: Rusty Lake Hotel, Rusty Lake: Roots, Rusty Lake Paradise, and The White Door! I had them downloaded on my old phone and I would play them all the time! I can’t wait to see what else you guys create to expand on this already awesome series!

If you like creepy/brainy but not terrifying, this is the game for you.. I have been playing these games for YEARS. My youngest kid had a memory flash the other day of sitting with me watching me play these games when they were in elementary school (So I’m not the most concerned parent, I guess. Cartoon blood and whatnot). I’m now replaying the games and loving them as much as I remember. I love that they do a lot of weirdness just for weirdness’s sake - that’s pretty much my whole life’s mission. The music is perfect - just enough to give the vibe but not overbearing or obnoxious. The imagery is simple and effective. The whole thing is a complex weaving of puzzle, horror, story, room escape, and something indefinable. Long story short, Rusty Lake is everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. Keep it up, my dudes. 🖤

10/10 game. these games are so addicting, yet challenging. i could play these games hours on end. last year during science class, this is all i would do instead of doing my work. these games are definitely a emotion rollercoaster, which is very good in a game. during the cube escape: birthday, i cried during class when the boys family got shot, which is a good thing, since that means its a terrific game. the first game that got me hooked on cube escape games was the paradox one. when i finished that game, i heard there was a mini movie. so i watched it. sobbed. balled my eyes out at 11 o'clock. these games are so good. i love a good game that can keep you hooked for a long period of time. these games also scared me a little, but i was so surprised on how well made this game was. please continue to make games like these, and never stop. everyone deserves to see these beautiful, well thought out, games. i follow yall on tiktok and you guys are so sweet on it, and deserve a huge fan base. my tiktok is userj9ti77wfzc if yall are curious. keep up the amazing work🫶

Great game. Similar to an escape room, but felt very original. Some parts were very easy, others a bit too hard, but they provide video walkthroughs when you get stuck. I wish there had been more clarification as to what happened in the story, some levels I couldn’t even tell which character I was playing as, and what my relationship with the victim was. Overall it was an interesting game, and took me about twelve hours to complete start-to-finish with all of the achievements. I will definitely be purchasing the other Rusty Lake games.

If you haven’t played it, you need to.. 10/10 You need to play this! The crossover in dark tones, spiritual, Taoist-derived themes, Dutch cultural inspiration, etc… it’s such a beautiful mix, such a profound story, and such a uniquely nostalgiac presentation. All of the Cube Escape and Rusty Lake games are an incredible, involving, unfolding, unfurling Artisitc masterpiece. Do yourself a favor and start with the cube escape series, it’s inexpensive, and if you like it, there are 9 games included! If you have a rational mind and an ounce of self respect, you’ll find yourself enriched in everything Rusty lake has to offer! If you want the full soul-enriching experience, just give them your credit card number, they can keep it. You now have a greater purpose in life. I cannot recommend this enough. Very good but not my favorite. I played most of the others in the Rusty Lake Cube Escape series before this, so I already knew somewhat the mood and feel of many of the puzzles before starting this. Most of them were clever, as usual, and just the right combo of weird and challenging. However, in this one, I got stuck at the sunflowers. As far as I can tell, there is no logic and just trial and error, with too many combinations to guess randomly. After trying for days, I finally watched the walkthrough to figure it out. We shouldn’t have to do this to finish the game! I think perhaps a hint somewhere about the order? Or hint of mechanism of how the sunflowers enlarge and shrink, because as far as I can tell, you just have to get lucky. Otherwise, great game. Surprisingly light and cheerful in tone compared to the others—well, despite the ear thing and the corrupted soul making an appearance at the end. Only didn’t give a 5 because I was comparing to the others, which were outstanding.

My favorite. The complexity and beautifully linked actual game series that Rusty Lake has managed to create and give us… chef’s kiss. I’ve played a couple times before about 2 years ago- before the all-in-one chapters were available- I looked up what order to play each game. I just happened to think about it randomly and dove right back in to this eerie and unnervingly deep world. The puzzles ARE tricky sometimes. But you really have to think outside the box….or rather….cube (ha). And there are walkthroughs and clues available if you get stuck. Seriously though, I keep coming back to this game. And be sure to play the others that tie into all the previous chapters. Standing ovation to the Rusty Lake creators. I really hope you continue putting all your effort into creating more. Thanks for giving us great quality and entertainment in these games.

Cube escape. My favorite game. I don’t like any others. My friend got me into this game a couple years ago, and I have played every “rusty lake” I can. (My mom doesn’t agree on paying for games, so I can’t play the hotel, roots…) I love rusty lake, I hope you guys make more free ones. I have a really weird liking of games. I like crossy road, cube escape, kitty collecter, and sudoku. That’s it. If you’re looking for a game without ads, doesn’t require internet, playable in any country, and actually makes you think, try this.

First interesting game in a while. I download games all the time and end up deleting them after five minutes of gameplay, in fact I downloaded this along with a mix of fiveish other random games when I was bored one night. It’s the only game that stuck. It’s been a very long time since I actually enjoyed a phone game, even longer since I finished one. Most games these days are either mindlessly easy or mimic 100 other games just like it. Cube escape was genuinely something different. I found it challenging but my curiosity and the gratification I got when I discovered anything, no matter how significant, is what led me to finishing every chapter of this game. The gameplay itself is enough to entertain but once bits a pieces of the story start to uncover you’ll get drawn into the mystery of it all.

Best escape game creators ever. I've watched and played tons of escape rooms, and this is the topper. They can be insanely difficult, but overall still possible. It's such an amazing game. I've downloaded Paradox, Hotel, and now am playing Roots. I'm not the best at writing a big paragraph like other reviews, but I think I can be able to do it like this. The art style is simple yet unsettling, the perfect mix for this series. If I could experience these games in the right order for the first time again, I completely would. I will buy every game that they have, no matter the cost. I highly suggest when you finish this to download Paradox and buy Chapter 2, as well as Roots. Roots has the story of the Vanderbooms. I'll stand by this opinion for however long I live, and wish that the creators make it super far in this journey, even more than they already have. Thank you Robin and Maarten for making such an amazing series, continue to make these amazing games!!

Best Amazing Puzzle Game Ever. Saying that this game is great would be an understatement because it is much more then that and will get your mind twisting and turning and yes, its can be difficult but thats one of the qualities I love about this game it never fails to stump me. All these other games seem oddly easy yet this one is a perfect challenge and a great story. The writers knew exactly what they were doing with this one and I don’t know how they came up with it but I commend them for it. Thank you Rusty Lake for making an awesome, fun, cool, crazy game we all enjoy

Spectacular value: Classic point-and-click escape rooms with a horror twist. This game is a collection of the first main entries in the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape series. Esoteric, challenging, and vaguely terrifying, these games tell the story of a murder-mystery in the alchemical pursuit of eternal life. Using classic point-and-click puzzling that heralds back to the franchise’s flash game roots, this series is most suitable for people who have already played point-and-click games before and are familiar with the kind of collect-items, then use-item-on gameplay tropes. The puzzles are challenging, particularly in the early entries of the series. The collection includes all of the mainline Cube Escape series and is WELL worth the cost. You get tons of content for the price (essentially 6 games in 1). The mystery of the story unfolding here continues to expand with each new installment in the franchise, and there’s so much to fall in love with here and try to figure out! Welcome to Rusty Lake Mental Health & Fishing, once you get hooked on the series you will invariably find it difficult to leave.

absolutely love rusty lake. Everytime ive played one of their games, I havent been disappointed at all. Ive played the whole cube escape collection at least 3 times as well as samsara room. Its challenging enough to keep you interested, but not too challenging to where you get stressed and delete the game. I absolutely love vincent van gogh as well, i have his paintings all over my house, and I love that he had his own cube escape and the detail that went into it such as his ear. I’m truly excited to see what comes from rusty lake in the future!!!

More than just an escape room game.. First game I played from rusty lake was samsara’s room a few years ago; and I found it absolutely interesting, although I was so confused. It wasn’t until some time after that I decided to play more of their games, and I must say, I absolutely love these compiled ones. The story is mysterious and eerie, yet captivating. It’s odd in the way that you don’t know what’s happening, but makes you want to learn more, about the characters that pop up from time to time, who they are and why they even appear in the first place. There’s some jump scares here and there, but they’re not overdone and placed nicely. The concept of memories, future and past is strong within the escape rooms, so it makes your brain do jumping jacks trying to comprehend their cryptic messages. But it’s absolutely fun! The order in which these escape rooms are placed within the app definitely gives you the best experience, as the next one will always reveal something that may have been left unanswered in the last one. Overall, it’s a game worth a try, and remember, “The past is never dead, it’s not even past.”

This game is EHmazing!!!!. Ahhhhhhh! I cannot explain how fun and interesting this game is! The story is awesome and creepy and absorbing. The characters make the game feel like a movie! Does it have a movie? Or is it a series? It was a great idea to put all of the games together because it is hard to find them in the correct order. I LOVE this game!!! The puzzles are hard but not rage quit hard so it makes Cube Escape so much better. I like games that are weird, mysterious, and puzzling and the Cube Series screams that! I am going to play the series all over again so see ya! Btw Rusty Lake is now my favorite game creators.

Favorite game. I love this game so much it’s so fun to play when I’m bored or have nothing to do or if I’m just out and about and need something to fill the time they give hints which are awesome but also, if you need more help, you can find a guide online. The game itself isn’t too hard to point where you’re going to want to give up but it’s just challenging enough to keep you playing. I personally love puzzle games and I feel like anyone who does puzzle games will love this game. You may need to take a break and step away from the game here and there but you can always come back and start where you left off or even start all over 10/10 game would recommend

Absolutely phenomenal. One of the few games available on the App Store that brings a fresh, intriguing, and logically challenging game (and a great plot line!) while simultaneously staying true to heart of these games. True story: I was playing this while riding in the car, when someone saw me playing and finally asked about it. I showed him how it worked, he immediately downloaded it and we spend a large portion of the road trip coming up with ideas on how to solve the puzzles!! Thank you again for the nostalgic feeling of a fantastic game without purchasing-to-win 🩵🩵

Phenomenal. These are my favorite games I’ve played them all 5 times or more. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The lore is amazing and it’s so interesting and one of the only escape games that I find difficult enough without feeling impossible. Also it’s the only escape game series I’ve found where every story goes together and it’s not something basic like prison escape or school escape or whatever, it’s creepy and interesting and I’ll never stop hyping this company up I love it so much!

It’s been a journey. ^ best describes this series. Especially coming from someone who has followed these games from practically their beginning. When I had just found these types of games and instantly fell in love with the genre. Back then I played the game thinking it was just another one off game that would never solve the mystery and it was just there to make for interesting game play. I’m glad that I’m the end it turned into this wacky, weird, and at times morbid universe. I replayed some of the cube games dozens of times. Some how it doesn’t get boring for me. 😆 and while I have to admit there are times I get stuck on a puzzle there are hints and walkthroughs to help every time. Best escape room puzzle app EVER!. I started with Samsara Room (another app rusty lake made) and loved it but it only took me 20 minutes. Downloaded this app because it looked like it had more escape rooms and it does! I love how they take time and require you to think but it is still solvable and the answer are logical. I’ve had this app for a few weeks and am almost done with all the room but I still need to get back and get more achievements. Literally in love with this app, and they story line and how it all ties together is so perfect. ❤️❤️❤️. Only downside is I play it on silent because the music creeps me out 😂

This game is fantastic. I am so glad I found this game. I never leave reviews but after listening to the podcast Beach Too Sandy Water Too Wet, I realized how important it is to compliment excellent work. This is a mind bending puzzle with a really emotional story. The elements of horror and eerie backdrop all add to the depth. Even with all of the oddities, there is a lot of truth to it all. It is like a nightmare that comes from grief and repressed memories. I found the difficulty to be hard enough but not ridiculous, the story line was creepy and well-crafted, and the gameplay worked perfectly on a small smart phone. Excellent work, Rusty Lake. I am going to purchase every one of your games ❤️

Just tough enough!. I really appreciate a good escape game. To me, a good escape game has to have a good story, quality graphics and, most importantly, it has to be just hard enough to challenge the player without being impossible without a walkthrough. This game has it all and I love the hint feature because they actually give you HINTS, not the actual answers! I sincerely hope to see more from these guys in the future and I just wanted to share my appreciation for this awesome game! Thanks :)

I enjoy all the games in the series. If you are looking for a escape room experience that you can do in a couple of hours, this is a good set of games for you. If you are new to games like this, be sure to write down any object that you have collected that you haven’t used yet, and any action that you do in one scene that doesn’t seem to have a purpose. You will use those items and return to those actions later in the game. If you get stuck, clues are available by watching an ad, and the price to remove all ads is reasonable. If worse comes to worst, walkthroughs are available for every game. All in all, a pleasant little diversion.

So good!!!. I love playing escape room/puzzle games and this game is perfect. The design of everything is amazing and has the perfect amount of fear. I love the story and how you get to play from different characters prospectives, it adds so much more to the game. The puzzles aren’t yo hard but not super easy and what’s more, a million adds don’t pop up and you don’t need to pay to get to other levels or to remove adds. When you need help you only need to watch one add per puzzle and I love that about the game. So to anyone considering getting this game, 100% recommend, it’s a perfect blend between puzzle and horror!!

Gold Standard Puzzles Games (with content warning). I’ve played most of the Rusty Lake games, and they are fantastic pieces of storytelling, world-building, and artwork. I look forward to coming back to the world and the multi-generational storyline with each new release. The voice acting and music adds beautifully to the atmosphere. Each game is inventive and thoughtful, with fun puzzles that require some time and thought but that are doable, especially as you come to understand the horror and paranormal elements. Two big warnings, though. Victims of sexual assault or domestic violence and those who’ve experienced miscarriage may struggle with some of the imagery and game actions. And cruelty to animals is a through-line. All is played for creepy laughs, so be warned and take care.

So much fun and a unique gaming experience. I have played now almost all Cube series escape games and each one is unique whilst staying true to an ongoing story. I usually just game casually in the evening, but I can admit I became hooked on these escape games by Rusty Lake. I even replayed several due to wanting to get the achievements completed as well. I rarely encounter any bugs and I would say all the puzzles can be solved with patience and thinking outside the box. Everything you need to progress is somewhere in that room, just click around or drag items you pick up to different parts of the room and see if any interact if you get stuck. A huge thank you to Rusty Lake for creating these games. You have added something unique to the App Store and I am definitely now a fan who will be watching to see what new adventures you create next.

Best escape room games I have ever played.. This was absolutely amazing. Every single puzzle was fun to complete, and when there’s that one part that takes forever to figure out it’s so incredibly satisfying to figure it out. I loved the way you tied each games story together, it’s really cool to realize what was in a previous game. All reviews complaining either can’t figure out a puzzle, gore, or a person with cowlover in their name complaining about mill. The only thing critical I need to say is the Story continues achievement. That’s the one thing I needed a walkthrough for.

So good. I don’t want to write a super long review, but just so anyone considering playing the game knows: Every Rusty Lake game is great. I look forward to every release, and they’re all so much fun to figure out. Even when you get stumped, you feel like you have to get back in there and figure things out. Although sometimes things are frustrating, like the UI of the older games such as Seasons, you can see the games visible improve with each release. The puzzles manage to be unique from each other, while maintaining the same logic between all of them. Every solution feels so satisfying and the overarching plot is quite interesting, although it is kind of hard to piece together. It is supposed to be very mysterious so not being able to piece together the story very easily is not something I would count as a con. All in all, if you’re considering buying/playing any Rusty Lake games, including the Cube Escape ones, you will not be disappointed!!!

Finally!. All your Cube Escape games in one place! I’m personally going to miss my ordered CE game folder on my phone, but this is much neater and a lot more convenient. Best series of escape games I have ever played, the story is elaborate and very creepy, the soundtrack is super eerie, graphics and art style are amazing, gameplay is smooth but most important of all, there’s NO ADS and it’s free to play! Looooove this game so much. I’m still slowly working my way through this. I can’t believe how much content there is in this game!!!! It’s the MOST compelling, interesting and just riveting puzzle game ever. There’s so many puzzles I’ve never seen in any other game of its kind and you really have to think outside the box- or cube, as it were. The story is highly relevant to what you’re doing at all times and it’s so satisfying to learn something new about the mystery with every unlocked door. The world building is fantastic, I’m captivated by the lore and can’t wait to get to the end. It’s so cool that each level has hidden achievements not necessary to completing it- it gives the game awesome replayability. Not sorry about gushing, I’m pretty fussy with games like this and this one towers over the competition.

The only problem I have with it is: one of the achievements doesn’t unlock no matter how hard I try to unlock it. Specifically it’s the Transformation achievement in The Cave. No matter how many times I change Mr. Crow from human to crow, it doesn’t unlock. What do I do?

Absolutely Amazing Games Aside From Minor Bugs. A friend of mine introduced me to this first lot of Rusty Lake games and I’ve fallen in love with them. Are they puzzling? Yes. Do they sometimes make me feel dumb? But are they incredibly fun? Yes! Easily worth the money for the upgrade too. My only complaint is that I’ve run into a few bugs (not many at all though) that render the level unfinishable and require a hard reset.

fun & interesting. puzzles are really cool and require just the right amount of thinking, not too easy or too hard. one thing i appreciated a lot was that the game has no ads that interrupt you, taking away from the experience. instead, you have to watch ads for hints, which works well for the gameplay, and you can choose to never have to watch ads for hints

PLAY IT don’t hesitate. Do you like mystery, thriller, twin peaks type vibes? Then this game is for you! It has the best lore and mystery, and everything that a game can offer! Mystery, intrigue, secret cults, romance, murder, a dysfunctional family, and a past that needs to be reconciled. I highly recommend playing the series in order, and you can look up the developers recomended order to play some of the other games in between (for example you can buy “Hotel” and play it in between ‘The Mill’ and ‘The Cave’ for a better lore experience. Or if you don’t want the lore you can just play for the puzzles.

Really Fun!. This game is so good yet creepy at the same time and it is perfect for people who want to solve puzzles but feel chills at the same time. The game sets a really realistic vibe to the point where I got goosebumps playing it. Some of the puzzles are pretty hard and I needed multiple hints to get them, but after I got it, it made so much sense. Really recommend to striving detectives, so much fun!

Thanks for the Memories. I had a lot of fun playing Rusty lake games. So much fun, in fact, that I actually tried to piece together all the games and make sense of this strange world. Just good. The app just asked me to review and I initially clicked “ask me later” but then came here immediately after that anyway. This is honestly the only game/app/whatever that I’ve ever intentionally come to the App Store to rate because I just love it. Worth every cent! (the games that cost money). This game can’t be any better, well that’s what I thought at first until it did get better! Best game no, best series out there! Not only does only 2 of Rusty Lake games cost money, but there only 3 dollars! I was starting to get sad realizing most of the games were made and last updated 3 years ago hinting to an end to the series, until I saw that there was a game by rusty lake recently published so I clicked on it and the miracle came true! 7 to 3 months! If I was gunpoint and had to name 1 bad thing about Rusty Lake games I’d be dead. I hope you read this and continue to make great games! My favorite series. I’ve played each of the free Rusty Lake games multiple times over, and I even bought the second chapter in Paradox. Each time it’s a challenge because it’s never an answer that you’d expect, and the gameplay is long. It really is an amazing game/ series and is very well made. It’s creative, fun, a bit creepy, and just overall incredible

Amazing. Cannot believe it’s free. No obtrusive ads at all, the only time you see one is to unlock a hint, nothing behind a paywall besides ad free hints. An incredible work of art with many small details to notice, and rare achievements and easter eggs that encourage you to go back and replay. First downloaded the app 2 years ago, just re-downloaded it because I wanted to experience it again!

Best Escape Game App Company, Hands Down. I found the Cube Escapes by Rusty Lake years ago and was hooked immediately. I’ve played them all since. The story is captivating and unique, and the game play is fun and challenging, and the art is so well done. Genuinely my favorite app creators. Rusty Lake is genuinely good. They have plenty of free games, and those that cost money are well worth the price given it’s a couple dollars for something with the quality of a full puzzle game on steam. There’s a great overarching story. Most of the games have you discover events that have already happened from the perspective of an unwilling observer. The atmosphere is remarkable. It has a distinct sense of humor that doesn’t distract from the morbid insanity of everything. If you like puzzles, Appalachian/ phycological horror and just weird vibes- genuinely give this series a shot! I recommend it to my friends in real life which should speak for itself. I have to talk to those people again.

Collection. I’ve been playing rusty lake games for a few years now and this is always so much fun to come back to and replay the games all over again especially trying to get the achievements for each game since each one is so mysteries in its lore so I recommend anyone to play this and any other rusty lake games.

Great escape room-like games. Want to mention something I haven’t seen in other reviews: I tend to not like atmospheric music, but in these games the OST is surprisingly good and well-composed for a mobile game (shout out to the composers… who I believe are Kevin MacLeod and Victor Butzelaar). I especially liked the horror-y moments and the sudden change to the corrupted sounding version of the birthday music after XYZ happens in Birthday. I think my favorites were Seasons and the theatre+bar stage.

Could’ve been really fun. I played the first two rooms in Seasons and then promptly uninstalled the game because I found it to be unnecessarily disturbing. The first room was relatively fine, but the second was bloody and frankly awful. The preview and bits of leading up to it didn’t provided anything to indicate that it was this kind of game. (I get that may have been intentional, but still…) The puzzle aspect, graphics and everything else was amazing, but the blood and creepiness seemed so needless and in my opinion just ruined what could have been a great game for me. If your looking for a fun, relaxing escape room type game, this isn’t it.

amazing game. I found rusty lake somehow through samasara room or whatever and i’ve really really enjoyed playing them there have been a few where i heavily relied on walkthroughs but even after i already know how to get through the puzzles it’s still fun to play i love the eerie vibe everything has sometime i feel genuinely anxious like i’m watching a good horror movie love these games!

New cube escape. I have played all cube escapes and completed them ,even Easter eggs, and many others have also. It would be amazing if you were to ,later on, make a cube escape with someone under the lake in a hidden room. I know many people have completed all of your wonderful games, and there is nothing special about my request, but it would be super cool to know that one of my wishes that I have had forever actually came true. Thank you for reading this if you ever do.

THIS IS SO FRICKING EPIC. I was recently introduced to rusty lake games (idk if its a team of developers or a series) I have been playing cherry blossom station,samsara room and I especially love the art style and the incorporation of horror and the character being trapped in there own minds and haveing a mental crisest (same here) I really enjoyed these games and I hope to see more like it or more rusty lake. Hardest Game To Figure Out!!!. Don’t get me wrong!! I like a challenge, but when the hints are hard to figure out…….. You’re either thinking “Someone just created the puzzle game of all puzzle games or this game just dead ends!!” I realize that sounds a little extreme. It’s still a great puzzle with interesting story lines; however, I may need a little help from the developer to continue on.

Amazing gameplay, art style, and storytelling. I discovered these games several years ago when Samsara Room first came out, instantly loved the puzzle solving and was delighted when I realized there were more, I’ve played though the series multiple times and love it so much, it’s such a creative game and gets you invested in the strange and exciting story of rusty lake. Keep making more!!!

WOW- Amazing story. I was looking for a solid story in a mobile app while my computer was broken and this blew me away. The story itself is so interesting and not what you would expect. I have been playing for a few hours and had to stop myself from staying up all night. 11/10 would play more. This game deserves more recognition for being so great and I wish there were more apps like it. Overall, great game!

Wish it was a little bit easier ❤️🙃. I love these rusty lake games but I have been having a really hard time figuring them out and I don’t feeling trying any other company out bcuz this one just has the perfect vibes that I want and I love!!! But I would love more of these but many more stuff to go off of instead of pretty much nothing in the rooms. Idk Maby I am just dumb or they really are hard. 🤷🏼‍♀️❤️

My favorite apps of all time. I discovered the Rusty Lake games, which include even more to check out than the Cube Escape, and they are hands down my favorite apps ever. I’ve replayed them all probably 5 or more times and they are so fun. The storyline is intriguing and a bit spooky but you get used to some of the scares and look forward to more (I’m saying this because I’m easily scared but obsessed with these so don’t NOT give them a try because they’re a bit creepy :)

best game series ever. I’ve been following the cube escape series for so long and honestly I think it is the best mobile puzzle game in the App Store. The story line is so realistic and basically everything else is amazing. Love it. I always really liked playing the Cube Escape games when I was younger, and now that they’re all in one app makes me so happy. I’ll admit, they’re a bit challenging at times but who doesn’t like a good challenge every once in a while? I have no complaints about this, just wanted to say the Cube Escape Collection is a great thing👍 keep up the great work.

Amazing 😉. I’m always into escape games. I very much enjoyed this game. Not just because it is an escape game, but because it has almost all of the cube escape games. It also helps the fact that my dad is sometimes busy with work, and sometimes can’t help me to get the games on my phone. With this game, it allows me to get the whole collection of cube escape games as well as to help my dad to not help me download every single game all the time.

Keeps you guessing. Fun game, kept me busy for a few weeks. Had to use hints or walkthroughs at times to move forward which means it can be challenging. By the final game, the cave, hints no longer worked properly on my new ipad. The “watch an ad” filled the entire screen and there was no exit button to finish watching an ad, after waiting forever I would have to close out of the entire app and it wouldn’t give me the hint. Other than that I loved the overall game- a lil spooky and fun.

i never write reviews, this game deserves it. this game is incredible. the puzzles are legitimately difficult, and the story is so intriguing. i COULD NOT put my phone down playing this. everyone needs to play it. i literally don’t have the words to describe how amazing this game is. i’ve never seen a phone game that deserved 5 stars until this. everyone needs to play it. so good!!!!!! cant wait to play the next one! i’d give it more stars if i could!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Difficult but not impossible. I’ve really enjoyed the Rusty Lake storyline so far. The puzzles are hard, but you’ll get them eventually and it’s a very interesting way to tell the story as you progress. I’m currently revisiting the games and playing them in order, and it’s a really good time-waster while I’m at work. At least it keeps me busy. The only problem I have is that when you get a hint, it doesn’t really help too much, especially when you’re already stuck.

#1 Rusty Lake Glazer‼️🙏🏾💗. I first played Samsara Room in the 7th grade and became obsessed with playing the entire series. Now I’m replaying again for the first time in 4 years, starting with the first game!! It’s still just as intriguing and fun as it was my first play through. You can tell a lot of love and effort went into this game and it deserves more praise and recognition! It’s really immersive and makes you think. The BEST escape-room game series ever this game is so goated 😭😭🙏🏾

This game is the best “escape room” game I have played!!. Like the title says.. this game is wonderful. In fact, this is the first review I think I’ve ever written! I don’t like to write reviews because well… I’m lazy, lol! Anyway, this game is absolutely worth all of your time and more. I can’t believe I finished it..! It took me about a day and a half to complete. That was with me playing constantly though, so yeah! Anyway I fully recommend this game and the other one by the developers, both are wonderful.

SO FUN. i love how the puzzles are challenging but not so hard i ragequit! i feel like so many puzzles are too hard to catch on to but once solve a few clues u get it quickr and quicker. not to mention how pretty the graphics are !! i love atmospheric horror like this esp. since its not a jumpscare horror vibe but a slow, thought out build up thats very satisfying. 5/5 stars!!

Such A Well Designed Game. This is such a well designed game! From the clever puzzles and eery story line to the unique and captivating art style. I am never bored, and even though I may be guilty of look up some of the puzzles to get through, even then it’s still my cure for boredom. And it makes your brain sharper, unlike doom scrolling.

The best 9 course meal. EVER.. Thank you for releasing the entire series in one package for us rabid Cube Escape/Rusty Lake fans. All these years later I am flabbergasted that this series was and is still F-R-E-E. I just want to thank you cuz I think it still ranks as one of THE best gifts I’ve ever received! Black humor, intense story telling, wonderful character development, incredible artwork, and probably one of the best musical scores out there. Oh yeah, did I mention the PUZZLES?! Quirky, funny, gross, thought provoking, creepy in the best way possible and always thoroughly enjoyable.

Amazing game. The logic for the puzzles makes sense even if I don’t get it at first. I love the artwork and the creepy surrealism of the game. I haven’t finished the game yet but the interconnected story of all the levels so far is a nice touch. The sound track/sound effects also really add to the experience. So far Seasons and Harvey’s Box have been my favorite. If you like this game I would recommend playing Samsara Room, another game by Rusty Lake. It has the same atmosphere as Cube Escape.

A Must Play!!!. The Rusty Lake games are one of my favorite where I come back to replay them fairly often. I love the story so much. With the collection there’s achievements that I didn’t know about from each individual game, so it’s been great finding the easter eggs they have sprinkled throughout. I recommend this app to anyone that’s looking for something new to try and I always get great feedback about it as well. 10/10

Love Rusty Lake. I love the rusty lake games so much have been replaying them. My only thing is that some of the level are so confusing and not even the hints help. It may just be me but I get very lost sometimes. Still obsessed with these games and they fulfill my addiction to escape games in a satisfying way. Some of the best puzzle games out there. Definitely going to buy the rest of the games and maybe replay them all again.

Wake up screaming. The puzzles were interesting, though some involve doing things that you’re like why would I ever think to use this for that, and the story was bizarre and disturbing. I did wake up screaming from nightmares after playing it, and thinking I saw symbols from the game written in lights on the ceiling. So… creepier than is obvious. It should be filed under horror, not adventure. If you like horror you should be happy. I did not realize it was going to have so much graphic murder.

Amazing Game!. Not only is this game very entertaining and enjoyable but it also doesn’t need any Wi-Fi! If you’re going on a trip and you want to stay entertained I really do recommend this game. It has all of their games in one, meaning it won’t be a hassle going to game to game. From the story to the game itself it really is enjoyable. Although the game is kind of difficult it certainly is something to keep you busy.

My all time favorite game. Horrify and adventurous with every story it adds more mystery. The graphics and puzzles are spectacular and is the perfect horror game that one could wish for. I love this game for the out of the box solutions and how it neatly packs everything together. I loved all the back stories you can unravel when getting achievements and I have loved every single one.

Dark, mind-bending curveballs. Im late to the game on this series of the Rusty Lake series but got drawn right in with its eerie, dark story line and off-kilter puzzles. It’s a little too dark in some parts and may be upsetting to some folks who aren’t expecting the low-key but no less disturbing psychological violence in the story line. It didn’t stop me from getting obsessed with every level! Highly recommend if you love twisty Twin Peak type story lines and some creepy characters in your puzzle games.

Well crafted and well thought. Every rusty lake game that I have played has spectacular storytelling and fantastic music and sound effects. I would say that some of them are for slightly more mature players (13+). They are filled with original puzzles and awesome twists. I would say that if you are looking for a beautiful and suspenseful indie game, rusty lake is what I recommend!!

I need more!. This is a great series. I haven’t been playing it for long, but this is my favorite game to play on my phone. For a series that is relative unknown compared to other games, this one stands out the most. With its tones based on older times, and it’s creative puzzles, this is a must play by all. And I am looking forward to the next game and I hope that it will be just as great as the rest.

Amazing and creepy. I absolutely love this game(s). So ominous, creepy, and I love the way images and dialogue repeat throughout the series. Very much a David Lynch influence; if you want to play a game set in Twin Peaks, try this one. It was surprisingly gory, which I enjoy, but I wouldn’t recommend it for kids. We see a woman’s throat cut over and over, and a family (including an elderly man) is also murdered.

what do I do when I get every single achievement. so basically when I got every single achievement I basically don’t know what to do now because every time when you get every single achievement you’ll see a symbol next to the game icons but somethings will get added in the background of the game background not the game icons but the game background so what do you do now is there like a simple cold or maybe like put a review

Weight lifting for your brain!. One of my top picks for these kinds of puzzles. I was not bothered with commercials every 5 min. Graphics are great and ideas are way out of the box. Game play was smooth no hang ups or pesky interruptions. To figure out what to do next was based on what you just did, where your going to next with help by viewing 30 second commercials. Creative story line with unexpected turns and twists.

i love it. i played rusty lake escape games a while back, and then i rediscovered them, and i am very happy i did. these games are so cool, and it doesn’t take you 5 minutes to complete the game: they’re longer games that have a darker feel to it and have an actual story behind it, so it doesn’t feel like you’re going to be doing nothing. i don’t really understand the story, but im going to play all the games in order so i can maybe catch up on it. i have no complaints. they did a very good job working on the games and the stroy behind it. 11/10 and i totally recommend it for anyone who doesn’t want to go a do an escape room in person.

Fantastic and just enough eerie. Can’t believe it’s free, but I watched a lot of ads for the very basic hints. Perfect amount of creepy/eerie and creativity. I will definitely buy the follow up games now. Smart business model. I would have paid $7.99 and have been content with the value compared to other games. Get this.
