Lesson saver!. I have needed a document camera, but as a teacher I have limited funds. This worked beautifully! I used QuickTime to record my lesson and uploaded it for my students to use. Thank you!

Has a major bug when upgrading to IOS 16.2. You can’t choose landscape mode if you upgrade your phone to IOS 16.2. Great app while it worked but its useless to me know, I would pay for the app if it worked.

Great for the simplicity. I just discovered this app, and I love how simple the screen looks compared to using the camera app. I wish for the ability to set a focus point though. Sometimes during a writing demo the camera is focused on my finger rather than the paper. Otherwise it’s fabulous! Love that you can turn on the flashlight, too.

Great tool for virtual classes. I want to thank the developer for making this tool available for teachers for free. I have not used it with zoom yet but I watched the video and tried the functions in the app, such an easy to use tool with features exactly needed by teachers and students in virtual classrooms. 2021 is already looking better!. Oh the bent arm webcam tripod resting on dining room table and a book (that I had to reference during a speech Ming you) wobbly fiasco I’ve endured trying to get an overhead viewer made 2020 that much more special. Thank you immensely for this app!!

Great for virtual OT too!. I’ve been using Reincubate Camo and my own laptop when my daughter has virtual OT sessions each week to help with her handwriting. So grateful for Charlie making this and simplifying our setup. I just used it today connected to my daughter’s Mac mini. Thanks for easily solving the rotation issue in an easy, straightforward way!

Bleh. This honestly feels worse than just using my camera as a doc cam. It still has the black bars on the side.....only way more pronounced when you’re in portrait. Meaning you can’t actually show a whole sheet of paper. Super disappointing.

Won’t work with Windows 10. I was very hopeful about this app but it doesn’t seem to work with Windows 10. Despite using a USB connection, it makes me use screen mirroring, downloads an applet each time I open it, then the video locks up. If I start over, it does the same thing. My friend has a Mac and loves it. If this is only for Mac, that should be indicated in the app description.

LovED the app but now…. This app is awesome but since the iOS 16 update, it no longer works via airplay. If mirroring is turned on the app will not launch. An update would be awesome!

Must have for Zoom. This a super simple and yet highly effective way to share external content over zoom via your iPhone camera. I highly recommend it.

This works simply and well.. So often it’s impossible to get my iPhoe and IPad to work with live-streaming software. But this product does it in a plug n play way. My uses are to set up a 3rd generation iPad as a video source remotely on a public WiFi network on my ATEM via Apple TV’s HDMI setting.. I also connected to my iPhoe to an HDMI splitter wired in as a separate camera. Huzzah!

Wonderful but with one request. I’ve been using this app in my role of providing mental health support remotely with elementary school students. I’d use it more if I could use it with my old iPhone 5 running iOS 10.

Such an amazing app for a teacher!. I discovered this incredible app while distancing teaching during the pandemic. It’s so heartwarming to find out that Charlie created this for his teacher wife. I absolutely love that it does full screen mode as a document camera on my iPhone. I do have a Yuuuge request: Would it be possible to create a version of this for the iOS 9.3.5 update? I would love to install it on old iPod touches that a colleague donated to me, but sadly the App Store says “Overviewer” is not compatible with this iPod. Our school just invested in large flatscreen tvs for us to screenshare for lessons and it would be a game changer to use these iPod touches as document cameras.

Right tool, right cost, great TOA. Times like these require friends, partners, and spouses to step up and help us teachers. The developer of this eminently useful tool has done just that.

Great app. Perfect for “zoom classroom document camera” (flashlight is great) but also for video. Almost no features which is wonderful—nothing to learn.

Perfect at-home doc camera!. This app is great for teachers in remote teaching who don’t have a document camera or have the capacity to take theirs home from their school buildings. The setup is very easy to follow and almost foolproof. There’s a little bit of a lag in the video feed but only a couple seconds and doesn’t hinder productivity. You can zoom in using the “pinch” method on your phone screen. You would need to set your phone on an elevated platform such as a stack of books or boxes but a tripod probably works best in order to capture the image you want to project. Definitely recommend to teachers or others who need a document camera for video conferencing purposes.

Great app. This is a simple app that serves great purposes for instructors and teachers. I’ve been looking for such an app for a long time. I’m using it to connect my phone to the microscope and display the live camera to the projector screen. It is amazing and students like it.

Overviewer is just what I need!. I'm a science teacher and do a lot of labs for my middle-school students to observe while learning virtually during the pandemic. This app cost you nothing, yet brings so much value to my lessons, as now I can model some labs live, vs. pre-recorded labs.

Made my work easier. I have an online academy in drawing, I use my iPad as a camera and being able to slide the images around on Zoom screen sharing is fantastic, non of the other apps allow this versatility. Thank you. Glenn V.

Good, simple solution for overhead viewer. I started online tutoring with zoom and I wanted to use my iPhone for overhead viewing of documents and objects. This app works great and is very simple to use.

Button to change rotation/orientation not working. Not able to rotate from landscape to portrait by using button in app or tilting iPad to change orientation like you would with the internal camera app. Have to force close app, ensure ipad is held in the orientation that you want the app to use, then reopen the app.

Exactly what I was looking for!. Are use this with reflector for and OBS to record videos using the iPhone as my camera. It works absolutely perfectly.
