Not user friendly. The app is not user-friendly at all. And to be honest, I was very disappointed with the game in general. It wasn’t worth the money.

Garbage. I wish I could do 0 stars. I ordered this late November, so it would arrive Christmas. It’s now January 19th. I emailed them two days ago asking for a refund and then they finally decided to mail it. I didn’t even want it anymore. Disappointed is an understatement.

Hit count. The training tool is great and kids enjoy it as well! The app is very bad. Does not count well at all.

Fell for all the hype. Kids were excited for this but couldn’t even play because the app is NOT functional. Should of known it was too good to be true with all the celebrity hype surrounding it for something at a reasonable price. Didn’t even think to check the app rating.

The App is Garbage. First review I have ever written! What a waste of money. They made millions.

App is useless. It doesn’t come close to counting the hits. This is an overpriced game. I thought there would be some kind of sensor on the ball to count the hits but it’s just a ball on a string. Not worth the price. Don’t fall for the online ads.

App is stuck. I’m trying to set up the app and it’s stuck on create a user name. Please fix!!

Didnt get my prize, overall crappy app. So this is a good app and generally a good except the timer and hit counter is very buggy. Especially the review time to wait for a score to get reviewed is VERY SLOW. I was competing for a tournament to win $1000, and I got the highest score. I waited for my score to get reviewed and then the tournament ended. I had sent in my score 3 DAYS before the tournament ended, and the score still wasn't verified. please fix this app and give me my well deserved 1000 USD.

Doesn’t Work at All. The app won’t even fully open! I click to open the app and it just plays a commercial video with a “loading” circle and never actually opens the app.

Not a great app. Would not recommend

the app is the problem.. i got this as a christmas gift and the game itself is pretty fun and quite entertaining, you can even work up a sweat. the app however does not calculate the correct amount of hits, even in a quiet room. the idea and competitive aspect is cool but when you are hitting it 16-17 times and it only registers 11-12 it can be frustrating.

Game is fun, app no so much. The concept of the game is fun and it dies get your heart rate up if you’re looking for a fun way to exercise! However, the big bummer is that the app doesn’t work that well. Doesn’t calculate hits, times out then restarts on its own. Very confusing when your as competitive as my family is! Nonetheless, if they can fix the app, I’d give this a 5 star.

App does not work. I downloaded the app but could not do anything but watch videos of people who used the thingy. Not worth it. Don’t bother getting it.

App is a joke. This is my first time writing a review and it’s because it’s a joke of an app. I love the game itself but whoever is in charge of developing and maintaining the app is out to lunch. The countdown timer glitches, video won’t load or i do a round, right next to my phone where I know it can hear the ball and it only counts one hit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not stellar at this but I’m most certainly getting more than one and the microphone can hear that. App is trash but if they bother to read the reviews I don’t see how the problems can’t be fixed.

Good. We just registered today. App works on both of our iPads registers under the same email. I don’t know if it counts the hits accurately, but it’s good for burning off pent up energy on winter days between homeschool lessons. People are saying it’s confusing to use. What the heck, watch the video and it shows you. My ten year old figured it out all on his own, the own registration process but using it. It’s not hard!

Does not work. The app won’t let me make a password

No support. I have been getting errors trying to log in to the app. There is a contact form, but no support link. I gave a detailed message regarding my problem, but I have not received a response. Pretty sad, but with no support, I believe the one rating is fair.

Low Standards. This company incentivizes people to use their product in the most inefficacious move

What a ripoff.. App tracks sounds. You can sit there and clap or yell and it registers as hits. It’s a complete scam designed to sucker you into purchasing a nerf ball, rubber band, and piece of Velcro for much more than they’re worth because the marketing implies there’s hardware in the ball that tracks hits. Thank goodness I only bought one.

App stinks. Game is fun. App doesn’t do what it says in regards to keeping track of the hits. It supposedly does it thru the mic so any sound that’s made (it’s supposed to be a party game) registers as a hit. Good ideas for games in the app but you’re gonna have to keep track of hits on your own

Would be tons of fun IF the app worked at all…. The app doesn’t work, which makes this pretty much useless as a game with friends. I will update my rating if this ever becomes usable, but right now it’s really disappointing. Don’t waste your money.

App is terrible. App requires a ton of info, wants a photo from you for your avatar and then requires videoing you when you play. It feels incredibly intrusive and you haven’t actually played yet. The physical game seems fun, but the app totally spoils the experience.

This apps bad at competitions. I entered a competition to win money and did what another kid did and I was gunna be in first place but it said cheated like what??? And the app doesn’t track every hit

Sad. I bought this because I always try to find something fun that gets my family moving. I have a brand new iPhone 15 and when I scan the license verification I get a blank page so now I had to submit a request and I get to wait 3 days ohhhh how wonderful.

Does not work. Complete rip off the app doesn’t count anything at all it will sit on the serve screen and no matter what won’t count so I essentially have an expensive nerf ball on a string

Awful scam. It took over 6 weeks from ordering to be received. Was planned for a Christmas game. Now that I have it I’m happy it didn’t come on time. Such a disappointment. The app records sound so any noise, including talking or coughing, count as a hit. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Crap. This app is crap as all the other reviews state. It doesn’t work. Expected the ball to actually have some kind of sensor. The actual game is a joke. No one in the family is able to do this for more than a few hits. There are no instructions and the return and refund policy is terrible. Do not fall for this gimmick. Bought 3 for Christmas gifts and didn’t even give them after trying the first one. These balls will be a pretty expensive pet toy!!!

Does not work for me. The app is useless. I’m hoping it’s something with my phone but neither the hitting count or recording ever start. Just constantly buffering. Regardless the actual product is a lot of fun. My one star is for the app and not the product. The app actually working would be an added bonus.

No customer service. App stinks.. I accidentally ordered two. Wrote customer service to check on returns and haven’t heard back. It’s been two weeks. I tried the other one and the string broke. Also the app is weird. Not at all like the Instagram videos.

How. How does this get worse every day first two days fun the rest not fun. Also the string connecting to the ball is harder to block and the app is glitchy.

String broke in three hours. I’ve pinged you on email, Instagram and now here. You haven’t replied anywhere. Seems like a promising tool but product quality is low.

Don’t buy. I fell for the influencer videos and bought not one, but two (one as a gift). We set it up and the app just doesn’t work as smooth as it looks in the videos. My guess is they gave influencers demo apps that look way better than the app in production. My kids - very athletic and excited to try - got bored after 2 tries because it just didn’t work. They just started using the ball/head band without the app. And then I see they won’t accept a return after you open it. So - you see an awesome video, buy it, try it, realize it’s nothing like the video, but you can’t retuned it. Awesome. Now I have two pieces of junk and have to go out and buy another gift - I won’t gift this.

App doesn’t work. The app doesn’t work as shown. It just sits there, doesn’t record anything.

Could be better if…. The ball had a Bluetooth trigger that would actually register in the app for accurate results. Using the microphone as the tracker is weak and inaccurate. The app is all hype with requiring a license to use it. While the game is kinda fun (kids are digging it), it’s very simple and the marketing team went bonkers with the idea of layering in tech to a simple fault in that it doesn’t work. I give it 2 stars because it has potential that I doubt we’ll ever see.

Not connected to equipment. There is no benefit to this app unless you want to manually enter achievements. It doesn’t provide any instruction for how to do what the videos show and the game we received does not act the way videos show…there’s no consistent direction, tension, or speed so most of the time we are just punching air and not the ball. I doubt we will be using this since it doesn’t do what they advertise.

Service was really bad and app isn’t accurate. Took them over 16 days to deliver! I send an email to 2 different emails but got no response for a very long time. Send them a message on IG - again, no response at all. Wrote to them under one of their IG posts- they deleted my comment immediately. So I send them again a message on IG asking for a refund. Only then I heard from them and my deliver was at my front door 2 days later around 6am in the morning, even tho I asked for a refund. And also, the app isn’t accurate.

Doesn’t work. It’s like a random number generator that displays random numbers and that’s how many hits you get 😅😂

Customer service. I NEVER GOT MY QR CODE IN THE MAIL SO I SENT THEM A EMAIL THEY GOT BACK TO ME IN A DAY AND SAID IF I DM THEM ON INSTA THEY WOULD SEND ME A license so I did just that and guess what they sent me a hole new one thank you box and ball y’all are great

Don’t waist your money. Garbage ..bought this thinking it has a sensor that counts punches ..only to find out it’s based on noise ??? Shows me I hit 20 when I barley hit 2…I’ve had it a total of 5 mins and I’ll be returning it 100%

Not as advertised. The ads make it seem so much better than it is. There’s not a lot of information on their website and now I understand why. You only get the app and YouTube info once you scan the QR codes on the box AFTER you order it … and there’s basically no return policy if you’ve activated it. It doesn’t have a sensor in it, it records the sound of you hitting the ball, and requires you to record yourself if you want to compete in the games. And there is no family challenge game like they make it look on the ads. What you see on the tv screen is simply a screen mirror from your phone turned on its side.

Fix your app!. Product works great, created an account but won’t let me log in. It shows the check mark to show it’s valid and then says “Unexpected error occurred” and then keeps asking me to create a new password every time I try again.

Uses your child's camera. The first thing I saw when I opened the app was a bunch of half naked children in their home environment. Very creepy. I would never give this to a child.

Garbage. Garbage product. App uses sound to count and not a sensor. It picks up every sound in the house and outside counting hits so if you want to track your progress to compete with others this doesn’t work. a should be a bluetooth sensor in the ball for accuracy.

Not as advertised 0 stars. Currently in a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Company refuses to respond to any emails. Customer support does not exist. Tried to return within the 12 day window as stated on the Boxballen website but ended up having to file a dispute with PayPal. And now I have to pay to send this cheap product back. Not happy.

Not worth it. Thought it would be something cooler definitely not worth the 30 dollars it’s basically just a ball with a sting attached to it. The app is cool but not really accurate. Would not recommend you can find these thing for 8 dollars on Amazon DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!

Non functional app. Does not start timing or scoring “games” continual buffering and zero support or troubleshooting within the app.

Unable to Log in - worthless. I tried to login for the first multiple times, app continues to ask for a new password, I update it, then I get “unexpected error”, over and over and over. Worthless. Hope I can send this back.

Pointless. Counter doesn’t work as intended and the headpiece itself is awkward.

App doesn’t work. The app is stuck on “Select a Username” and can’t get past it. Frustrating that a big part of the fun of this thing is interacting with others and tracking high scores. You can still play with this thing but not worth the money when it’s a headband with a ball tethered to an elastic band. If the app worked which I hope it does eventually this could be great.
