Toolbox Pro for Shortcuts Comments & Reviews 2026
Alex Hay was capable and kind - an exemplary developer. Each time I use Toolbox Pro, I think of the brief interaction we had about his app. It has stayed with me. I appreciate his gift to the community. Using talents in this way always came across as a labor of love.
Really awesome idea, but NFC tools don’t quite work. Unfortunately the NFC scanning functionality doesn’t quite work. If I create a shortcut automation triggered by an NFC tag that is then followed by a Toolbox Pro NFC Read, then the read will not properly work. Bummer! Additionally the “scan result” variable doesn’t really work properly either, and instead you have to actually use the clipboard. Finally, reading with the text format prefixes the data with “en” for some reason (I guess it’s prefixing the language? Which means it’s probably not interpreting the NFC data properly?)
Phenomenal!!!. If you’re serious about shortcuts and you understand most of the logic within it this app is a MUST HAVE. my only current request i can think of which i don’t think is possible is the ability to detect if other apps are open in the background. this would be useful for me as a door dash driver to have maps automatically open back up after a timer if i’m in a location and another app i use for dashing is open. Thats all for now regardless this app is priceless!
Needs to be free for 4 or more of so hours after downloading. So we all know that shortcuts is iffy sometimes. and what you think will work may not actually work! so this app needs to let you use everything for free for the next couple of hours after installation, so you can see if your idea works and if it does you know it would be a good investment to pay the premium! but how it is now you can’t even try it for free so what end up happening is someone would buy the app pay the premium charge because they think there idea will work in shortcuts but then, it doesn’t. and there angry because to them they feel like they wasted money or time trying to get a refund. so there really should be a free few hours after first use of the app so people can actually tell if it’s what they need.
A Fantastic Product. If you are interested in adding enhanced features to your shortcuts then don’t hesitate to buy the full premium version of this incredibly will polished app, that adds real unique features to the ShortCuts suit of actions. This app is worth every cent.
Pretty good, but notifications are buggy. A couple issues: - attachments don’t show up (tested with audio, photos, video — nothing works even though the api says it should) - in shortcuts, the form is implemented in some weird kind of way that causes overflow formatting bugs. Can’t get to the top or bottom in various cases when trying to edit the action in Shorcuts.
Sad day…. It made recent news in the Shortcuts community that Mr. Alex Hay (the developer of this wonderful app) just passed away. It is with a heavy heart I place this review, as it is quite possibly the most useful shortcuts extension available. May Mr. Hay rest in peace.
Don't Expect ANY Music shortcuts to work. The music actions don't work. I brought up the issue on reddit, the dev is AWARE that his PAID actions aren't working and still has not updated the app to make them work. It's been 2 months! If I pay for something, I expect to be able to use it at the time of payment. At this rate, it looks like the ONE feature I wanted and the reason I bought the Pro tools version, will never be usable.
"Is audio playing" is bizarre. I downloaded this app so that I could disable my morning alarm in case I was already awake and listening to music. I set up this flow (literal text input shown between caret quotes) Get clipboard -> Set variable to Clipboard; Is audio playing?; Wait to return; Get clipboard -> Set variable to Clipboard -> Copy to clipboard -> If clipboard is <"true"> { Exit shortcut with Clipboard } otherwise { /* play my alarm */ }; I had to make sure to use the double quotes when testing the clipboard value, which was not clear from the instructions and nearly caused me to leave a one star review until I was able to guess the correct format. The "is audio playing?" action takes a very long time to return (nearly a minute!). It also wipes out whatever may have been on my clipboard previously, which forced me to jump through hoops to preserve the clipboard state as shown above. I suspect there is also a race condition in the event that I use the clipboard while the action is executing (which, again, is not a short amount of time). It would be much better to return a boolean or at least write to one of Toolbox Pros global variables. Three stars because it technically works and meets my needs, but very surprising and disappointing in the details. Finally, ZERO STARS to Apple for mangling the linefeeds and other whitespace in this review, making technical feedback extremely challenging.
RIP - still best shortcut helper app. This is a fantastic app and I am sad to loose the original developer (Alex), but so excited that this app is under a new developer. I have the Pro Version, but I Suggest people support the effort by tipping. It is a worthwhile cause if you do anything with shortcuts.
On the buggy side.. I wouldn’t depend on the actions in this app for Shortcuts I rely on. It needs more time before I can confidently use it. Remove key from dictionary destroyed it when strings had line breaks. The sort edit list is unpredictable. If you can avoid using this app, avoid it. Make your shortcuts independent.
Incredible app with continuous potential. This app is amazing for users that want to get into using Shortcuts in their daily routine as well as learning the basics of Shortcuts in general. I love it, you can’t go wrong with this app.
RIP Alex, you are my inspiration. I’ve been using Toolbox Pro for as long as I can remember. When I first downloaded the app I was blown away by the number of actions and how easy of an app it was to use. I proudly paid for premium and still use the app daily in my shortcuts. I was incredibly saddened to hear of his passing as he was (and still is) such an inspiration to me as someone studying CS. I hope that one day I can be half the developer Alex was. I hope development continues but what’s most important is remembering his legacy. It’s worth the download even if some actions may not work pending future iOS updates. Sending my condolences to his family and friends who are grieving ❤️
Wonderful!. I wish I had thought of doing this. So glad somebody else has, and that he has done such a great job.
Toolbox Pro makes Shortcuts easier. I downloaded Toolbox Pro months ago because of a MacStories recommendation but I hadn’t used it much. Today it showed its value. I needed to grab 20 photos from my phone, shrink them, change their format, zip them and upload them to Dropbox. A Shortcut I made in about a minute did the job and was only possible to do that quickly because of capabilities provided by Toolbox Pro. THe new functions it adds are powerful, intuitive and invaluable.
Worth the price first time I used it!. I found it worth the price of in just two weeks for fully unlocked access! I had been emailed images of text documents that I needed to quickly edit. Instead of laboriously transcribing the text via keyboard, I used the example Scan Text shortcut in Toolbox Pro to convert the images of text into text files, saving me a huge amount of manual typing. If you are serious about using or creating your own shortcuts, I highly recommend this app.
Awesome. This app has so many amazing functions, but my favorite is the Global Variable tool. If you’ve used shortcuts much at all, you’ve almost certainly had a moment when you wish that a shortcut could have some kind of memory. To know if it’s been run that day, or to remember a piece of information that changes. A score for a game, a simple tally, and countless other uses. Well that’s exactly what Global variable does. Beyond that, toolbox pro has lots of great functions that shortcuts can’t normally do, and even more functions that you could pull off in the shortcuts app, but that would be so cumbersome that they’re not worth it. But in Toolbox Pro, it’s right there, and works just the way it says. Seriously, if you like shortcuts at all, download this.
Disappointingly unreliable.. Toolbox pro provides many incredible options in Shortcuts, but it is very unreliable. The latest problem is haptic feedback: I created a shortcut to test different options with a 2 second wait in between each haptic action from Toolbox Pro. None of them play any haptic feedback. When the shortcut contains only one haptic action, it works fine.
Interesting, but little available.... This app looks like it could be useful, but All I'm seeing are a few features. You can't even convert currency or make a calendar OF ALL THINGS. Very little is available for free that the basic user would be able to get with a single browser lookup or even the shortcuts app itself! I'm getting more and more disappointed with apps these days, they ask you for money for very little features, use scriptable, it's free, and a lot more flexibility because you can program your own scripts/shortcuts
The missing functionality in Shortcuts. This app is amazing. If you want to unlock the real potential of Shortcuts, download it right away!
Ugh. It took way too long to figure out that you can’t do anything without paying for a premium license. Want to know the price? Yeah… me too. Maybe they should add that to their website in a manner that anybody can find it. Honestly… it feels a bit too underhanded for me to feel comfortable supporting them. Be more transparent with your model.
Suggestion. I want there to be a menu where you can add folders on the first page or a shortcut and shortcuts can go in the folders and make it like assistive touch
Worth it for the Premium Version. This adds so many tools to Shortcuts that it is completely worth the one-time price to unlock all the actions. This is a game-changing app for those who like to automate with shortcuts.
Get. If you’re just slightly into building Shortcuts, download this immediately. There are many free tools and you can see the premium tools offered. If you feel powerful and accomplished when you build Shortcuts, download this app and immediately pay the one time unlock fee for all the existing and upcoming tools.
Amazing App!!!. I’ve wanted this app for a while, but only today did I get it and purchase the Premium, and I love it so much! It’s such a helpful app! I do have a few suggestions, and I may update them as I get to know this app better: (1) Add an action that sorts numbers. Like, an action that takes a list of numbers and sorts them from highest to lowest, or lowest to highest. (2) Make the ‘Is Premium Unlocked’ action free. Right now, it’s pointless because it only returns ‘true’ for users with premium access. Since you can’t run the action without premium, it never returns ‘false.’ Once premium is purchased, this action just confirms what the user already knows, making it redundant. (3) Make a custom “Repeat” action, and make an “end repeat” action that will immediately end the loop if that action is run. Thank you so much for this wonderful app!
A Must Have. I seriously can’t make a shortcut now a days without using at least one action from this app! And the developer keeps adding more and more so frequently, it’s well worth the price! Support this guy, we need more actions!
Looking forward to more actions. Cool app, I like the concept of adding actions to Shortcuts. I have a couple feature requests that, if possible to implement, would allow me to completely automate a daily task I have. 1: The ability to search for connected SD cards by their name and pass that to Shortcuts so I can run actions on the folders on the card. Currently I can choose a SD card as a source but reformatting the SD card breaks the file path Shortcuts used to find it. 2: Pull the AAE file of a photo or create a JSON with the edits on a photo inside of Apple’s Photos app. For example, I need to pull the crop, rotation, and straightening info from a specific photo so I can translate it to a sidecar file that Adobe Bridge can read. Hope these are possible, but either way I love that developers are adding additional actions to the Shortcuts app! Thank you!
Global Variables are less helpful than expected.. The way the Check if Global Variable Exists box is formatted is awkward and doesn’t perform the task I was trying to accomplish. I was trying to create an If that would have a specific output only if the Global Variable had a certain value. When you create the variable, it only allows you to input text. However, when you add the Check if Global Variable Exists box and select that input for the If, then select “Is” for the relationship between the variable and the value, it only allows you to enter a number for the value. I would suggest a box that simply retrieves the Global Variable value with an input slot that, when selected, will display all of your preexisting Global Variables to choose from. This would make the Global Variables much more useful.
Still a Great Addition. There are some great features and functionality that this app adds to Apple’s Shortcuts. If you like to automate, then I’d highly recommend it.
Creative + Impressive + Really Useful!. I love how creative this app is in providing useful functionality to the Shortcuts app. The actions it adds are really impressive and look like Apple implemented actions with how slick they are. I use Shortcuts on a daily basis and Toolbox Pro actions are in a lot of those actions. I’m also really impressed with how transparent the developer is on Twitter. They’re open to input and share upcoming features with their community. I give this app 5 stars because of how impressive it is plus how impressive the developer is. Looking forward to seeing where this app goes especially as Shortcuts evolves over time and (hopefully) allows devs to access even more functionality in iOS and iPadOS!! Thank you!!
RIP Alex Hay. You will be missed. Toolbox Pro has been an invaluable tool to so many Shortcuts users. Sadly the developer, Alex Hay, recently lost his battle with cancer and passed away. TBH until I heard of his passing through a story on MacStories I didn’t even know who the developer of Toolbox Pro was. It was a good reminder to me that many of the apps I use and rely every single day aren’t made by some billion dollar big corporation but by real people who have a family, go through life issues like everyone else and most aren’t making a ton of $$ developing the apps we depend on. Alex and his family’s struggles were even bigger than many of us will ever face. So before you write a review or a feedback email ripping a developer try to remember they’re a person. We’re all imperfect and some people may be going through a major life issue that you’re unaware of. Toolbox Pro made Shortcuts so much better by including actions that Apple either forgot to include or simply wouldn’t include. It would be nice if Apple would buy Toolbox Pro from Alex’s family. It wouldn’t bring him back or make their loss any easier but it would help them during a time where they may be struggling financially. Apple in return would improve Shortcuts, make users happy and show their support for the developer community. Rest in peace Alex. You will be missed by many.
Not supported by the dev anymore. Last version was released a year ago. Should have known... When I bought this about a month ago, the license didn't sync properly between my devices. My shortcuts using this app basically don't work as they return an error claiming I don't have the pro version. Tried reaching out to support, but they don't respond...
Fantastic. Amazing App, Extremely Useful Actions and Well Designed with Plenty of Examples (Example Shortcuts, Too!). While This App and the App called “Actions” are both extremely similar, both have unique actions and in some cases actions that are seemingly identical end up having slight differences in data points and output results. Rest In Peace Alex & Thank You for All You Gave to the Community. Thanks to the New Devs for the Continued Support & Updates. The Community appreciates it and I’m sure that Alex’s Family does as well! PS. Would Love to See Alex’s TestFlight App called "Menu Box" Released to the App Store or Fully Incorporated into Toolbox Pro… *wink wink*
Add more power to your shortcuts. I've been using Toolbox Pro since it launched and its awesome. It adds so much more power and flexibility to your shortcuts. I use their awesome rich menus, extra calendar event controls, and I'm having a lot of fun with the emoji icon creator.
So sad to hear about the developer, app still has great value. So sad to hear about the developer, app still has great value. Maybe one day someone can pick up working on it. This app extend the ability of shortcuts, offers many tools.
Ability to share all shortcuts as one link please?. I just got this app and can’t wait to dive in. But if there isn’t a feature to share Multiple shortcuts at once and for the other person to easily download them in one tap. I’m begging you guys to please add it!
A must-have app for Shortcuts tinkerers. I’m going to keep this review short and sweet: This is a must-have app for anyone with more than a passing interest in iOS Shortcuts. Full marks.
A must have shortcuts companion.. Every person interested or currently making shortcuts app shortcuts needs this app. It opens up endless possibilities for new shortcuts and contains actions that will blow your mind and befuddle you for Why they werent already included in the shortcuts app.
When it works it's awesome. I don't do s ton of shortcuts so i don't use this as much as i should. But i love it when it helps me solve a problem. I also want to thank the new dev team for carrying on this app. You honor Alex's work.
⭐️UPDATED: Amazing tool, and the developer will be missed 😔. I didn’t the developer passed away until reading reviews here in the App Store. 😔 This is an amazing app that helped me gain an understanding of how shortcuts work, and helped my programming knowledge over all. I highly recommend it, even though it has not been updated and likely will be sunsetted. It levels Iup your shortcuts to a new degree of functionality. I appreciate all the dev has done for our community 🕊️
Rip-off. Don't even bother downloading if you think you are going to get some free "useable" shortcuts. I went through the entire list and every shortcut I was interested in was a paid "Premium" shortcut. I realize developers should be paid for apps that they put in a lot of time to create, but I don't think they should advertise them as free apps with in app purchases if almost every function requires a purchase. Just change the "Get" download option to the price of the app, like honest developers. Update 2/3/20: Developer's Response tells me that almost 1/4 are free (13 free out of 100 total = 13 percent free).
Thank You Alex Hay. I’m aware I’m not the average shortcuts user. Where as most people use it to automate things, I use it to make games. Need to get a head start on my career somehow, eh? The Global Variables system has done WONDERS for my RPG! My players can now save their name, their gold, and their inventory! None of this would be possible without Alex Hay. Thank you for inspiring my programming career. Rest In Peace. o7
Good app, very helpful in little ways. Very little things that Apple missed, but make a huge difference. Well worth it. Even to unlock everything.
This is crazy powerful. I wouldn’t care if I had only used this for *one* shortcut—it would pay for itself with that one! This has so many features, I can’t imagine even being able to use half of them!!!
User friendly app. I am new to Toolbox. And very impressed with how well it's programmed to be user friendly. Good examples, too. As a career software designer and programmer, I compliment the care taken on the design of Toolbox. Austin, Texas
Adding lots of functionality!. The Shortcuts system in iOS is pretty amazing, right up until you need something that isn’t built in. Toolbox Pro is stepping up to fill in som’s of the missing features. Really cool, very useful. Really looking forward to future enhancements and features. A must have tool for anyone really wanting to automate in iOS.
Awesome app, worth every cent. The developer of this app, Alex, is on it. Constantly adding features and the support can’t be beat. If you like to automate and use Siri Shortcuts, you’ll probably encounter a point where you’ll ask why didn’t Apple include this feature? It’s very likely that feature is in Toolbox Pro. Highly recommend!
Love it! But.... I love this app! I use RoutineHub, so I can give people updates through the check for updates tool! I just wish 1 thing, PLEASE Make authentication with Face-ID and Fingerprint free! That is the 1 feature I rly want, but it costs 6.00. Please make it free!
Worth the price. I was a little worried at first when the price was 6 dollars, but it turned out to have the things I wanted and more!
Just what I needed. I was trying to create a Apple Shortcut that would only run an automation IF my phone was on silent to remind me to take my phone off silent so that I wouldn’t miss calls/texts. I could not find anyway to do this without this app. I had to pay for the premium to get access to that particular feature, but totally worth it. I really love that it’s a one time fee and not a Subscription based service. I only got the app for the one feature originally, but looking forward to seeing what else I can do with it. Thank you to Alex Hay and may he rest in peace. Thank you to to the developers who continued his legacy!

Apple should include this by default. This has so many features for making shortcuts to that I don’t understand why apple has not implemented them into shortcuts for example you can’t trigger the Taptic Engine unless you use a third party app like this
Excellent!!! but my favourite feature..... Authentication is really great feature but somehow the one you provided doesn’t work properly. When the authentication is just promoted on the toolbox app from one shortcut and I want to carry out another authentication for another shortcut, the page where it says “Authentication result copied to clipboard” isn’t closed— therefore slows down the progress for carrying out another authentication from other shortcuts. Consequently, before it even finishes— with the built-in URL to go back to shortcut, it runs too fast and go back to the shortcut app and I’m left being denied. However, I found a solution. I made all of my shortcuts that require authentication to involve copying “a certain phrase” to the clipboard. Then I create an automation for every time the toolbox app is opened, it does this: If the clipboard contains “the certain phrase”— then waits for 2-3 seconds (so that the authentication is promoted properly); then once the “wait” finishes, it opens up the shortcuts app. if success (clipboard true), it replaces “the certain phrase” with whatever—and carry out the preferred shortcuts. By adding this your authentication feature works perfectly.
Heaps of useful free tools but I’ve now paid for pro because I was impressed by many things.. I can’t remember the last time I saw an app with “free” option that wasn’t just a 3 days trial before thinking I’ll pay a $20 monthly sub for a tool you’ll find in this app for free 🤣 or you are fed 5 ads for every 2 buttons you click (and they include the ad exit button as 1.) amirite fellas?! But not these guys. High number of high quality Free options ✅ Even more useful paid options but never begged to do so ✅ i know what you’re thinking , alright what’s the catch, it’s a high price subscription model I bet?! NOPE. $10 for life time access ✅✅✅ Bro they’ve got me typing like a crackhead I’m gonna cry tears of joy at this app. Almost makes me wanna quit my AI Postgrad so I don’t continue to the downfall of heroic devs . I name all of my future children after your app “Toolbox Jr” etc etc :)))
Doubled and halved my productivity. Huge productivity booster for me, especially with global variables, dictionary editing and list manipulation. Then I spend all my new time stuffing around with menus and photo albums. If you use Shortcuts at all, it’s a no-brainer.
I’d rate this 10 if I could!. This app and developer are amazing! I wanted to create a more natural conversation between myself and Siri where she’d ask a question and based on my answer would complete a task. However I wanted to make it so I didn’t have to say 1 trigger word, instead I wanted to say 1 out of 5+ common words. This genius was super helpful in replying back to me and with a helpful link to a shortcut he created during our conversation. Turns out he created a built in system using IF OR making the Natural Language Parser shortcut!! keep doing what your doing!! Much Appreciated
Debug is not working. Debug (Printing and Viewing console, recommended for debugging your shortcuts) is not working at the moment. I am glad that we are seeing new releases again.
I purchased the app but still can’t use it.. When Itry to use it it says it premium and to go to setting in Toolbox pro app. I rebooted the phone with no luck. Suggestions?
Fly on, Alexander Hay. Through your apps (such as this one) I, a mere designer, for the first time found myself at long last beginning to understand programming, a concept I’d long since dismissed as impossible. You will never know just how much you meant to so many people, how many lives you enriched. Thank you, friend. For you there is no more sorrow and no more pain. (My sincere condolences to his loved ones; may you, in time, find healing ❤️🩹).
Supercharges shortcuts. I’m very delighted with it and have been using it for a few years. It’s just allowed me to use shortcuts on a new level. I’ve also had a lot of fun playing around with other functions it adds which I’ve never thought to use. Great job developer.
What, no MacOS?. I thought this app was a great help, until I recently developed a shortcut which uses the advanced menu feature and tried to use it on the Mac. Zero support for MacOS?? I realise that some of the features are iOS only, but there’s no excuse for not even having a MacOS version when all shortcuts are supposed to work interchangeably everywhere.
Amazing utility! Must have!. I love this app, it allows me to make much better looking and more powerful shortcuts. Love it! I wanted to add to this review. I’ve been using this amazing utility more and more and each day I’m continually amazed by the amount of much needed function this app adds. Seriously, I can’t recommend this enough. If I could rate higher than 5 I would!

Fantastic App. I have used this app ever single day for many years. Its an excellent app and a must have for anyone who uses Shortcuts.
Dead?. No updates in 2 years. Is this dead? Many posts from developer on Reddit sayin he will add this or that feature but it didn’t happen. Not sure if it is still worth paying for this app. I would use the Actions app instead.
App ruined. I’m not paying 9$ to get actually useful tools
Must have. This is a must have app if you're doing anything more than the basics in Shortcuts. It's shocking that these functions aren't built into the main app. RIP Alex.
Awesome. Thanks for this! Amazing toolset of options added.
Not that useful. It had general things but not ones I would normally use or find helpful. It would be good if it was something automated like responding to any new emails coming in and adding meetings to your calendar as soon as it in your inbox
Awesom. Awesome app it really makes regular shortcuts 10 times better when used together. I wish more apps like this will keep coming. I have been self teaching myself since I got the scriptable app. it’s slow going but with apps like this it helps.
Shortcut example bug. If you try to get a example shortcut it says not found or deleted shortcut and it won’t work, other then that good app. BUT PLEASE FIX THIS!
Great extensions to Shortcuts!. These extensions make Shortcuts really useful. Most of my use has been around Photo Shortcuts and was delighted to be able to automate Album creation. Well worth the purchase if you use shortcuts at all.
RIP. Rip
System detail. I purchased the premium copy hoping that I would be able to use advanced system details information specifically iPhone serial number and NFC tag UID. I couldn’t get either so it does not do what I need.
Absolutely incredible extension to Shortcuts!. Overall I’m extremely happy with this app. It provides a lot of convenience for Shortcuts creators and also allows for some new tricks that weren’t possible before. If you have made more than a handful of more advanced Shortcuts then this is an essential app for you to check out. The user friendliness is a bit poor for some certain actions which require jumping back and forth between Shortcuts app and Toolbox Pro (especially those where Wait to Return isn’t viable) and I hope there is a way to improve this in the future.
Recommended. It's a great app for beginners and power users of Shortcuts alike. Features added range from quality of life additions to complex AI powered actions.

So Lovely. It’s so lovely that “Snailed” developments will continue on with Mr. Hays legacy and innovations and add their own voice to the mix. Thank you.
It just doesn’t work.... Before I could try any of the examples, I had to buy the pro version. Then I tried the two simplest examples Soulver and Calculate with Soulver and nothing! Can I get my money back now? Boo!
Most good stuff is paid. .
Can’t get any of the shortcuts to run. Paid for pro but havnt seen any of the shortcuts work
Not Paying to Test Scripting. I don’t know if the shortcuts thing I’m trying to do will work so I will not be paying you $6 (20+ minutes of labor) just to find out if it will
No way to upgrade. My shortcuts stopped working because I don't have premium, but there is no way to upgrade to premium in the app.
Rest in peace Alex. Toolbox Pro is an incredible app you created Alex. Rest in peace.
Pay. You have to pay for most functions. There are only 11 free shortcut functions
So long thanks for all the fish ( Douglas Adam’s). Great App
Just One More…. Toolbox is potentially very useful, but it’s missing one thing I really, really want… A way to get the name of the currently running shortcut. It would be a great help in writing more generic, reusable code.
Very powerful and creative. Very powerful and creative app but I feel sorry for the developer who passed recently. Rest in peace, may Allah help his family
Can’t do anything without paying for premium. There is nothing to do without premium.
The developer blocked me on Twitter for calling out a bug. I’m a paid user…horrible. Functionality in this is so broken.
Fantastic app - having some trouble with audio transcriptions tho. Getting an error message with audio transcriptions. Otherwise great app. Worth paid upgrade.
DO NO BUY! Many actions no longer work. Bought this extension explicitly for the playlist actions to help me manage my music. All of them error out and alert "User Token Invalid" Other actions have weird behavior when trying to use with Siri, especially the list based actions.
great app but still some bugs. this app is great but could be better, the "add to list" function doesnt work
Best application for shortcuts. RIP Alex. My condolences 😞 This application is everything that is missing in iOS. Best app!
May you rest in peace. Amazing app by someone who was and is an amazing developer. May he rest in peace.
Nothing works. I’ve paid and downloaded the example shortcuts and none of them product any output.
Paid for premium but did not let me restore purchase. Debating whether to spend another $6 on something I already paid for.
Suggestion. Change App icon to be for Shortcuts theme please so new app icon fits well with shortcuts.
Nice but not optimized for iPhone X. The layout on an iPhone X seems to be broken. I can’t use the search as it’s behind the notch. Otherwise great app.
So so great. Thanks Alex for making Shortcuts even better. The new release is excellent. File and Folder bookmarks are a huge addition.
25 for free!. This app is incredible. So generous of you to provide 1/4 of the 100 shortcuts for free. $5.99 is a fantastic price—A+++ work!
RIP Alex.. Thanks for keeping the app alive ❤️
It is a great app!. I really love the app. But there are some issues with it that are making me not be able to give five stars. The image recognition is pretty awful. In my opinion you should at least give an action that has the ability to correct, and tech the ai at by giving the user the ability put in the correct answer. This would also be useful for custom objects like pictures or specific people that you want the image recognition to recognize. There should also be a color wheel where you can pick any color. This would be useful for a color to hex generator (which would be very useful if you code like I do). It would also be very useful for the user to customize things. You should have choices for a color wheel, one of those horizontal things that goes from dark to bright vertically, and rainbow colors horizontally (Lol) and also color selection from a photo. There should also be a screenshot function so that you can make the phone take a screenshot. I’m not sure if this next one is already a function or not (lol) but if it’s not, you should have the ability to search for letters, and remove them, or switch them with other letters/numbers. Wow! That would make life so much easier! You should also add something about weather. Like get weather details (extended). You should also add get past weather details. I think that would be useful. Thanks for making the app. It’s really useful. I will rate this app ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ if you add in some options like what I said! Thanks again!!
Useless app and unhelpful developer.. Accidentally installed this app thinking it will be useful for the feature I needed, it didn’t work. Then I requested a refund providing my reasoning and the developer rejected it, good luck getting a refund if the app isn’t what you expected.
Global Variables not Working. Immediately after updating, global variables stopped working.
Great add on. Thanks
RIP Alex. Your app got me into shortcuts and automation, thanks so much for making such a great toolbox. Screw cancer!
Awesome Shortcuts Extension. This app adds a bunch of features to the Shortcuts app. It vastly expands the Shortcuts functionality.
Premium. Can’t find a place in settings to unlock premium features
Tools. Varibles
Fantastic!. A great addition to Apple Shortcuts.
Excellent tool!. Thank you very much!
Nice app but will there ever be a new update?. This^
Huinya. Trash
Must-have. A great addition for any serious Shortcuts user.
What shortcuts should be.. Great implementation and great use and documentation. Essential for anyone who uses shortcuts !
Great app keep it on the App Store forever. Nice one
Too many premium. If there where less premium options it would be a lot better. More than half of them are premium so not much to actually do.
Broken app. Do not buy. Music search has been broken for 2 years. Receiving 401 error every time. No fit presented yet. Paid for premium for no reason.
Terrific tool. Absolutely amazing functionality
Amazing. So much power in such a little package.
First use = awesome. I wanted to check to see if a Bluetooth audio device was connected as output before starting my walking workout podcast in Overcast.app. It worked perfectly. You do have to experiment to see what kind of results get returned, but once you have that, it makes all your following logic easy to construct. Now my music only starts when I have my AirPods in rather than starting the music playing out of the iPhone speaker in my pocket.
Must have for shortcuts. This unlocks the power of shortcuts and personal automation by overcoming the limitations for shortcuts’ built in capabilities.
Noice 😎. I’m the kind of person who loves having the right tool for the job. I also am pretty much obsessed with doing things the easiest way that still is exactly what I want. Coming from an OS X, Linux, and Windoze programming and then IS/IT background, managing data, users, machines, and so forth all day, then going hope and messing with my gaming and production rigs for fun (I know), it’s been hard to embrace the “Smart Device” world, where the ability to get behind the UI and customize things is very limited, especially on Apple products (I love my iPhones and iPads, but I’m not ignorant about them being part of a walled off garden where Apple makes the rules). But now that newer versions of iOS (especially iOS 14) are giving users the ability to tweak and customize their own experience just a bit more, and to make shortcuts (a la AppleScript and Automator from the desktop macOS), things are getting much more interesting. I’ve been playing around customizing my home pages, but I’m more interested in apps like this – utility apps that add to the functionality already present, but save the user some time and effort. I’ll be honest I’ve only used this a bit, but enough to know that it’s something I want to support; should get lots of use out of; and is priced the right way for me. It’s a free download, and the pro version is a very reasonable one time fee. No subscriptions, which I refuse to do no matter how much I like a product. I want to own the app I pay for, at least up to that version. If there’s a charge for upgrading in the future, I’ll consider whether I need it then. But I’m never going to give in to a subscription model for apps unless they’re enterprise level corporate stuff that comes with priority 24/7 support etc. I’ve got rid of so many photo apps and other potentially useful ones because I don’t want to manage twenty or thirty app subscriptions in addition to streaming tv subscriptions plus normal bills, groceries and the rest. I always feel like I’m under pressure to be using stuff because I’m paying for it. I want to have something like this app there for when I need it, and living in a Utilities folder and out of sight the rest of the time. Ok, so I wrote an entire essay. Sorry about that! Bottom line is I’m eager to see what all this app can do to make my iOS experience just a little slicker and more efficient. Keep up the good work, I love stuff like this ツ —J.S.
