How much does it cost?
• eSIMs from Airalo start from US$4.50 for 1GB of data.

Does an eSIM come with a number?
• Some eSIMs, including our Global Discover+ eSIM, come with a phone number so you can call, text, and access data. Check your eSIM's description for details.

Can I use my SIM card at the same time?
You sure can. Most devices allow you to use multiple SIMs and/or eSIMs simultaneously. You can keep your primary line active to receive text messages, calls, and 2FA authentication (but remember, they'll be subject to roaming fees).

Happy travels!

Airalo: eSIM Phone Internet Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Highly recommended. I have been traveling across Europe for the past 3 weeks. I have been to 4 countries so far and the regional bundle was amazing. It saved me a lot of time, money, and headache of purchasing Sim cards upon arrival to expensive roaming options on my local courier. The service worked great and even when I am on the train crossing borders, the service stops for a while (due to losing signal) then reconnect to the other country available networks. There was one time that the internet wasn’t fast and the signal wasn’t good, but the solution was very simple which was that I manually selected the network and service was great. I had no interruption with service (only in very few places that didn’t have signal). Setting up e-sim was very straightforward and I recommended to get it if you are traveling to multiple countries or one country for few days. It surely felt good to have internet upon landing to a foreign country. Airalo made everywhere I travel feel like home. Get Airlo and stay connected.

It’s great to be connected!. I bought a new iPhone SE last fall and my physical sim from my old phone was fighting with an eSIM that I must have downloaded from my carrier so I had no phone service. I went to my service provider to find out what was wrong and they reinstalled the eSIM and told me to wait 24 hours for it to become active. 24 hours later there was no change. I ended up removing my SIM card and I now had a phone that worked. That got me interested in eSIMs since I saw ads about using them in other countries. I had a trip to Australia and New Zealand coming up but still wasn’t sure they would work. None of my traveling friends used them. After being in Australia for 5 days living on public WiFi and trying to do Geocaching Adventure Labs I decided $14 wasn’t too much to lose so when I got to New Zealand I signed up and downloaded my first eSIM. It installed right away and after turning a few things on or off I was ready to go. When we got back to Australia for a few days I bought the Australian eSIM which I should have done right away. I was traveling with 4 other people and became the go between since I was the only one connected. I told them next time we take a trip we will all have an eSIm. I have a trip to Switzerland coming up and my husband will be getting a new iPhone so he can have an eSIM too and be connected.

Non functional and no support. Decided to try an esim for a trip to the UK. Had issues immediately when trying to purchase before I left the states which should have been my sign to just buy a physical sim on arrival. Contacted support and received a boilerplate response which suggested I check all the things I told them I had checked already and never received a follow up reply to my response. Was finally able to purchase and install the appropriate esim upon arrival to our destination so I thought all would be well but now can’t connect to the cellular network using the esim. Thinking it might be my phone, I enabled my regular sim and was able to connect immediately proving network availability and phone compatibility. Attempted to contact support without any response except an incoming call offering me travel insurance within 5 minutes of sending my support request. Maybe a coincidence but seems a bit suspect. Thankfully WiFi seems to be pretty broadly available but a local physical sim is in my near future and as well as a transaction dispute to my credit card company to attempt to get my money back. I couldn’t resist the promised convenience of an esim for my trip but the time wasted trying to get it to work has definitely turned me off Airalo for any future travels.

My First Try- It worked Instantly. I tested this with an unlocked I phone 12 pro max ( I bought second hand inUSA) on Groupon. I really wanted to see how it worked in prep for an upcoming trip to Europe. I bought a USA 7 day 1 GB e- sim to use in the USA for 7 days. I was using my home internet connection. You need a secure connection to get the E sim from Airolo. The tricky part but they flashed the instructions was to assign this E/ Sim to the second spot and turn off The Primary Cellular Data spot. I guess it can’t get two internet signals at the Same time? My primary physical sim had an Orange SIM card in place ( expired) from a former trip that had no data on it but must have still been active. I turned it off. I am picking up T- Mobile 5 G in my local area on the -E-sim from Airolo. My future plan is to purchase another E- Sim from them when I travel to Europe in several months. I think I will purchase it in advance but activate it when I reach my destination because you need an internet connection or I guess you can use any free wifi at airport arrival to activate it. May even consider on plane internet ( purchase on flight) to activate it on route. This is Data only. No voice phone calls.

Global Connectivity Made Easy: An Airalo Experience. Airalo has become an indispensable tool for my international travels. As a reliable and secure eSIM provider, it has consistently delivered seamless mobile data connectivity in various countries. My spouse and I recently ventured to Turkey and were thoroughly impressed with Airalo's performance. The app's installation process is straightforward, and its user-friendly interface ensures a hassle-free experience. One standout feature is the built-in loyalty program, "Airmoney," which offers rewards for every purchase, adding to the overall value. While there are occasional hiccups in connectivity, a quick toggle of the airplane mode or manual network selection usually resolves the issue. The pricing is competitive, often providing a more cost-effective solution than local SIM cards or international roaming plans. For travelers seeking an efficient and fairly priced way to stay connected internationally, Airalo is a top choice. Highly recommended for the modern globetrotter!

So much better than physical SIM card. Ok I admit. When I first tried to install an esim it was difficult. I didn’t understand the settings. I went to a phone store in Guatemala and was told I had no data even though I had just bought an esim and 1gb of data. The staffer supposedly made adjustments to my settings but it didn’t work. Finally I found a tour guide that made the settings work and instantly I had service on local networks. The trick is cellular service is now from a secondary source. You can toggle the turn off this line to stop service from your US or whatever country your home is. Think of it as two options. You want to stop the original one and begin using the new one. It’s so much cheaper than my home carrier which wanted $10 a day. I got 3gb fir a month fir about $30. Dont be discouraged if you can’t get the setting right. Just ask a good tour guide who is used to this question. You’ll be happy once it’s working.

a lifesaver. i’ve used this service several times over the last year and it has allowed me to have so much more freedom while traveling, by not having to rely on wifi, or other people and not having to pay absurd roaming rates to my US carrier. my only piece of feedback is that while this worked almost perfectly for me in european countries, i had a bit of trouble with it in uganda. i often found myself having to turn my phone off and on again to access data, despite the local network in the area actually being quite strong. if i didn’t do that, it would bump me down to 3g rendering data unusable. turning my phone off and back on again would bump me back up to 4g for at least 10-20 minutes or so before losing service again. those issues aside, i appreciated being able to have data in a country where i’m typically unable to use my phone. thanks for all you do!!

Life changing!. Airalo was a life changing solution for my family and I on our recent extended trip through several African countries, and I’ve started using it now for business trips as well. I’ve tried a couple other eSIM providers as well as tried using local physical sims, and the ease of purchase and installation of an Airalo eSIM was beyond amazing. No more hassles and language barriers and local currency issues and waiting to install and activate a physical sim in the airport. I literally spent 2 hours in Kenya getting local sims installed in our 6 phones, vs 20 minutes using Airalo to outfit 6 eSIMs across our devices, plus there is better network selection with Airalo, easy ability to track data usage and top up more data when needed. Only thing to improve would be an option to have a local phone number as well since that is often pretty essential especially on extended trips in a country.

Travel the world with Airalo. I am so happy that I decided to use Airalo. It was cheap, reliable and convenient. This was my first time using an esim. I found the instructions provided by Airalo easy to follow and I managed to complete the setup in my home country but I was unable to connect to the network as the Nova network was only available in the destination country. I reached out to Aíralo support who confirmed this. I was automatically connected to the network as soon as I landed. It was very very convenient. I could use the personal hotspot to let my kids connect to the network. There is an option to top up if you runout of the data you originally purchased. The network connection was really good I managed to connect even in the remotest parts. This was very essential given we drove and were dependent on the maps. I am very happy with the service and will surely use it during all my travels in the future. Thanks for making my holiday memorable.

Great service. In October I needed secure access to internet while traveling outside the US. My phone's international data plan would not let me use my phone as a hotspot, which made the ATT 5gb plan almost useless to me. I needed to work on my laptop, so I needed something that I could use to turn my phone into a hotspot for getting work done while I traveled to Turkey and Germany. The Airalo product exceeded my expectations with price and ease of use. Also, when I went to top off my data I made a silly mistake and created a new eSim. The service team at Airalo was incredibly quick to fix my mistake and their communication to me was always prompt and straight forward. (As in, they responded to my email within MINUTES). I was shocked be the high level of service I received. I was back online within minutes. I will always use this app when I travel out of the country. I love this app!

It worked well for me so far. I used the service in Costa Rica in May of 2023. I lost service one time down a side street but the power was out in the city at the time I later learned so that may have been the cause idk. I only lost service for about 5 mins maybe and it was just in that exact spot. It worked again when I got off that street and around the corner. After that I had no issues for the remaining time I was there. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I didn’t use much data so I think I bought the smallest amount and it lasted me for my entire vacation of several days. I would suggest purchasing in the airport on Wi-Fi or data and installing before you leave the U.S. or w/e airport and Wi-Fi if you can. You can Google the best instructions but I did not have any issues with installing, the internet worked etc. I will say that I don’t do much social media and I was too busy to be streaming much so a few gigs is more than enough for me.

Great Connectivity in Costa Rica. Purchased a cheap data plan in the States via Airalo before a trip to Costa Rica to familiarize myself with the dual-sim. That worked well, so I bought the Costa Rica eSim and couldn’t have been happier. I will say, it becomes a little tricky avoiding fees with your Stateside carrier as even though I spoke with Verizon representatives 3 times before leaving to make sure my account was setup the best to avoid international fees, I still was charged for one day of TravelPass (oddly at 3am while I was asleep). Verizon credited that back and I’ve found the best approach is to completely remove any international functionality from your phone line before leaving. Even with Data Roaming disabled for my Verizon sim, it somehow still triggered that one TravelPass day. Once they disabled all international roaming, I didn’t incur any additional travel fees. Overall the eSim worked perfectly and I’ll definitely be using it for all future international travel. Thanks Airalo!

Would definitely recommend, just has some headaches. Overall, have really enjoyed my experience using Airalo while traveling to Iceland, Ireland, and Italy. My carrier, Verizon, doesn’t have affordable packages for long-term international travel. But I can’t give five stars cause I’ve definitely dealt with some headaches figuring the process out. These problems can definitely come from my lack of knowledge on telecommunications, so I don’t think it’s inherently Airalo’s fault. But from an accessibility standpoint I do want to mention these problems. I never figured out how to have a working phone number. Sometimes my data and network would cut out for 5 minutes at a time. Not often but maybe twice in a month. And the set up process was definitely a head scratcher, I spent an hour trying to understand what was wrong until I realized I just needed to switch Iceland off while Ireland was on. Overall, this service has been fantastic and affordable! I would definitely recommend, just give yourself an hour on Wi-Fi to figure it out for the first time.

Save money with Airalo eSIM. I am an American residing in Costa Rica. For some time I’ve maintained my US mobile number with an AT&T prepaid account, which includes wi-fi calling, to handle US business and to have service when traveling to the States. I also have a Costa Rica number which requires a physical SIM card. I recently purchased an iPhone 13 (iPhone 14 doesn’t have a physical SIM card slot) and the world of eSIM was opened to me! After doing a bit of research I found that if I ported my number from AT&T to Google Voice for only $20 (there’s no monthly fee for Google Voice) and install an eSIM from Airalo I no would no longer have a monthly fee. All I have to do is top off my installed eSIM prior to traveling to the US. An extra added bonus is that while I’m in Costa Rica my US number is no longer dependent on wi-fi because of my Google Voice App which works using my Costa Rica SIM data! This change is a win win! I no longer have a monthly fee, I can use my US number anytime I want and the service is fantastic! As inexpensive as the Airalo data is I am pretty sure that if I returned permanently to the US I would likely continue using an Airalo eSIM and Google Voice.

Very affordable. Very happy I found out about Airalo. I bought two Esims one for Switzerland and one for Rurope, Italy and Spain. Both work really well. You just switch back and forth. Much easier than having to find a kiosk in country and buying a physical SIM. Also a fraction of the cost I would’ve been paying for Verizon my carrier in the US. Just search for hints and tips from Airalo as well as other bloggers who written about some difficulties they’ve encountered getting connected. I had to wait a gre minutes before each were activated. but once they were everything was smooth sailing. I will end up paying under $30 for 830 months day. Under Verizon that would’ve bought me three days. The only issue I had was when I was in the states and downloaded the ESims. I had a question and it took a long time for Airslo to get back to me. Turned out my question was irrelevant when I got in country and everything went fine after landing at Charles De Gaule airport in Paris. It’s eSIM all the way when I travel from here on out.

Reasonable price and very convenient. Having read about Airalo, I decided to try it on my trip to Australia and New Zealand. I purchased the eSim and installed both eSim at the comfort of home. When I arrived at the Australia airport and tried to activate the eSim, it does require an Internet connection. Since I had free airport Wi-Fi, that was no problem. Unfortunately, I could not find a cellular service. This is the only comments that I would have on any eSim is documentation or lack of. The issue was due to me not enabling “Data Roaming”. I thought the eSim was for Australia so no need for data roaming. I was wrong. Once I enabled data roaming, everything worked as expected. When I arrived in New Zealand, I thought I would need to enable data roaming. As it turned out, I didn’t. So my recommendation is to read whatever documentation from Airalo on how to activate the eSim and if in doubt, enable data roaming on the Airalo eSim but do not enable data roaming on your primary cellular provider or you will pay. 😏

Beats US International Phone Plan Charges. Airalo E-SIM and our new dual SIM phone will make our upcoming trip so much better. The last time we purchased a physical SIM in country and paid way too much for what we used. Airalo has a good selection of data and time to meet most peoples needs. I imagine it is difficult for companies to provide instructions due to the variety of phones available. We managed to download and install the E-SIM and align our settings without too much trouble. I would recommend waiting to install until after you read the tutorial provided with the purchase receipt! That answered questions after the fact that would have been helpful with the install. We plan to make the E-SIM line our primary data source and leave our regular SIM for Voice and Text. So, family can call us or text us and not use data from our regular plan. We have our phones set up so it will be a simple transition when we are jet lagged. Sure beats carrying 2 phones. Thanks Airalo!

eSIM worked. The company is pretty good. They respond to text messages from a chat module within the APP pretty quickly. Not lightning fast, but within 15 mins. So if you are in a jam, you won’t get out right away. They respond to emails only about once a day, so keep that in mind, but they are always friendly and thorough. I used one eSIM for Portugal and one for Spain. It only took about 30-60 secs for the eSIM to activate and connect to the network. One thing: I needed to use other settings than their instructions indicated in order to make iMessage work on an iPhone. Their instructions indicate to deselect your phone number and just chose your email as the preferred contact info associated with iMessage. I found I did have to select my actual primary phone number (I selected it in addition to selecting one of my emails associated with iMessage) in order for things to work properly and for the menu options to appear more like they appear in their help pages and videos. But once configured thusly, iMessage worked!

Airalo: Bridging Borders with Reliable eSIM Solutions. Airalo has emerged as an indispensable tool for international travelers. As a reliable and secure eSIM provider, it consistently ensures seamless mobile data connectivity across various countries. During a recent trip to Turkey, my hubby and I were thoroughly impressed with Airalo's performance. The app's installation process is straightforward, and its user-friendly interface guarantees a hassle-free experience. A notable highlight is the integrated loyalty program, "Airmoney," which rewards every purchase, enhancing the overall value. Although occasional connectivity issues may arise, a quick switch to airplane mode or manual network selection usually resolves them. Airalo's competitive pricing often offers a more cost-effective solution compared to local SIM cards or international roaming plans. For travelers seeking an efficient and reasonably priced means of staying connected internationally, Airalo stands as a top choice. We highly recommend it for the modern travelers.

Live in the US with Family in Germany & Brazil. This app is a complete game changer! I have an iPhone 12 mini which has an eSIM. I keep my physical US SIM card installed in my phone, and via this app, I have both a German eSIM and Brazilian eSIM installed for INTERNET DATA ONLY (I just chose which of the 2 eSIMS I would like to have active depending on the county I’m in and purchase the 1-time data package that works best for my visit. No contacts!). With this setup, I keep my American line active in case an important call comes in, and pay for that call according to my Verizon plan. But I typically only answer the call if it’s important. For the rest of my time abroad, I just use data-based apps like WhatsApp (or Apple Facetime and Apple Messenger of communicating with another iPhone user) and all of this is covered by the data. Very practical since I don’t live in Germany or Brazil and it’s not worth getting a different number there. The data rates are very reasonable and it works perfectly if you follow the installation and setup instruction closely and thoroughly. Total setup takes about 5-10 minutes, maybe a little longer if it’s you’re first time.

with Airalo, I will never choose a physical SIM again. I relied on physical SIMs for much of the last decade while traveling for work and leisure, but I recently discovered Airalo and I will never again buy a physical SIM. If I have internet access and the Airalo app, I have an eSIM for wherever I want to go, whenever I want to go there. No searching for SIM kiosks, hoping to find a reasonably priced one at an airport or city center, and *more importantly* if I need customer support, Airalo is just an email away; getting in-country support can be challenging unless you take the time out of your workday or vacation to "go to a local store." Airalo customer service is very responsive and was super helpful when I bought the wrong eSIM, they deactivated the SIM, credited my account, and I was able to then purchase the correct one. Great service, and my coverage is always on par with the locals I hang out with while in-country. Great service! Totally recommend!!

Great option to cell service - read tips. Found Airalo a great economical alternative to your regular cell service! Worked almost all the time like regular cell service - we were very pleased! We did not find that easy to set up in terms of understanding the directions. Airalo could benefit by having individual “slides”/images vs a YT video. The bottom line we figured out at end is you need to make your Travel service your Primary service and turn off your regular cell using the settings. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: if you have situations like credit card loss or fraud or you need to actually call banks or any phone that does not use an Internet-based service like WhatsApp or IM then you must restart your regular cell service and reconfigure your phone back. This is a real hassle if you need to make calls to companies that have customer service phone numbers but no other means and where chat is not sufficient to address their needs for identification or other.

First time user of eSiM abroad and Very Satisfied. I’m traveling abroad in Europe and felt I needed near full time bandwidth to stay connected when WiFi is not available. My USA cell carrier does allow use of data and texting abroad but can be very slow to a crawl. So after much careful research of over 6 eSIM providers, I went with Airalo. I must say I’m very very happy with their service. It has literally worked every place I have been, including the train stations. The only exception so far was traveling by train and entering a tunnel. Not going to count that against Airalo. Also, Airalo’s eSiM catalog seems to cover more of the world than other providers. Finally, Airalo’s app is very comprehensive and can do everything, including managing your account, installing sSIM directly, and see usage status. I highly recommend Airalo for your eSIM needs. Their rates are very comparable to other providers and is very reasonable. I will definitely be using them again on my next abroad trip to Asia.

Excellent!. I probably use Airalo in an unconventional way. Where I live, my T-Mobile service is awesome. However, I also hunt and fish in some pretty remote locations that are lacking in T-Mobile service. Now with Airalo, I can access data on other networks and still use iMessage and internet when my T-Mobile service is nonexistent. On iPhones, you can set your Airalo eSIM to automatically or manually choose a network... it usually defaults to AT&T in my area, but if I switch it to manual it will generally give the option to choose from several different carriers depending on your location. As an example, I currently have a choice between 9 different networks, including T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and a few smaller providers. I seriously can’t recommend this service enough!! Their customer service team is also extremely fast in responding to emails. I accidentally deleted my eSIM profile on my phone. After sending them an email, I had a response within an hour with a new eSIM and my new plan transferred over to it.

Great Product. I rent cars in many different Countries and finding a navigation solution is difficult. Tried everything from Garmin in laptop with gps device (2007), separate gps devices with downloaded maps, off-line saved maps, etc. However the best solution for me is Google maps with cell phone data. The downside is at $10 per day thru my cell phone provider it becomes very expensive. I never tried buying a SIM card because of the hassle of fining it and putting it into my phone. Last year on a 21 day trip to New Zealand I tried for the first time an eSIM from Airalo. It worked great and at a fraction of the cost that my cell phone provider would have charged. As a side benefit I also had cell data to go on the internet. Next month I am going to Japan and have already downloaded my eSIM for that trip. Airalo makes the process simple and inexpensive.

Impressive. We went to Portugal and upon our arrival my T-mobile (US) Cellular data wouldn’t pull out Waze. We were circling around outside the airport with our rented car trying to find signal - to get to our Airbnb (Imagine how tired and exhausted we were after a long flight, we just want to relax but we couldn’t get there) and Waze never worked. We even called T-mobile technical support trying to make the data work but it didn’t. We were helpless. But for some reason the Iphone maps worked (at least to get to our Airbnb). So when we arrived to our Airbnb, I immediately searched for eSIMS and found this. This is my first time using eSIMS, my husband used it as well. To our surprise, it’s perfect for all our needs. All the apps worked fast (even 5G) without using too much data. We purchased 30 GB - $19 for 15 days and on the last day there was still 29 GB left unused. It was reliable, powerful search and best eSIM ever. I will definitely used it again the next time we travel abroad. It totally made our trip hassle free and memorable. I would absolutely recommend it!

Highly recommend for international travel. Went to Italy for the first time in the summer of 2023. Airalo was a great tool to have and saved me a ton of money. I purchased a 20 GB data plan ($33 at the time of purchase) for a 15-day trip. I ended up using only 10 GB. I bought the largest possible package because I’m a heavy data user at home. I was surprised I used less than 1 GB per day despite how much I used my phone for Google Maps, checking for train updates, checking Twitter and other things abroad. Keep that in mind when picking your data plan. I generally had coverage everywhere, but there were a handful of small dead zones. Not a dealbreaker. The only reason this isn’t a five-star review is because I couldn’t get iMessage to work correctly while using Airalo. Using the mobile number from my normal carrier for iMessage wasn’t possible once I activated my eSIM — even if I tried to text on a WiFi connection in the hotel. Even after I switched my iMessage to a connected email address, it still didn’t really work right. That said, I never had an issue messaging on WhatsApp. If that’s your preferred chat app while abroad, you’ll be just fine. Bottom line: I saved over $100 on my mobile bill by using Airalo abroad, rather than paying for a daily international plan with my regular mobile carrier. It was easy to set up, pretty reliable and helped me navigate some of the most beautiful cities on earth.

BEST DATA SERVICE EVER!!!. The person who created this app deserves all the flowers! So typically I go through my phone service to pay for International data whenever I travel ( which was always costly 100$ or more) ever since I discovered Airlo I pay SIGNIFICANTLY LESS and the data speed is way faster than any USA international data plan. I honestly want to call T-mobile and cancel my service because Airlo data is literally so much faster & cheaper . If you are traveling internationally DOWNLOAD THIS APP ASAP!! I have used Airlo when traveling to Europe ( Paris, Spain, sweden, Denmark, Oslo, london) and Latin America( Colombia, Mexico). Idk how Airlo does it but the data speed is so much faster than any other USA plan you have. I honestly found this app out of random and upset I didn't know about it sooner. If you’re from America and you like to travel abroad THIS IS A MUST HAVE APP. Also the App is super simple and easy to navigate takes less than 5 mins to download your e-sim. So many more great things about this app but ill let you discover on your own😉

Easy Button for International Data. I used to switch to T-Mobile or Google Fi when traveling internationally, which meant stopping my Cricket service, porting my number, and paying a higher rate for a month of service when I might only need the international data for a few days. My wife and I traveled to Aruba recently, and decided to try out Airalo instead. Since it uses the internal eSIM, we were able to keep our existing cellular plans untouched and just add a 1GB/week plan for under $10! The Airalo app made it super easy to install the eSIM on our iPhones, then we had to make some small modifications to the cellular settings (which the app provides instructions for) and it worked great after that! I have wifi calling enabled, and my iPhone indicated that my Cricket service was running over the Airalo data connection, just like it does when I’m connected to wifi, so I was still able to use my main phone number as if I was still on domestic coverage. This will definitely be our main travel data option going forward, as long as they have coverage for the country we’re traveling too.

Convenient. The eSIM had made accessing the internet in Turkey more convenient for me. The first one I bought without the app. But with the app you can track how much data you have, something I couldn't figure out how to do with the SIM card I bought in Turkey. I can also top the data... It is important to note that this does not give you texting and phone calls, only internet access. I use an app to do phone calls. And texting using iMessage mostly... When you first load the SIM, you have to find a way to scan it. I would just ask a person, using Google translate since there is not much English here, and have them take a photo of it so I can scan it. I thought afterward that maybe you could scan it in a mirror. I think once it's loaded I can just top up without having to scan again, but I haven't run out of data on the second one yet.... It works great though and the price is reasonable compared to an actual SIM, as long as you don't need the phone service with it.

Best esim, reliable, save time and $$. While all my friends are paying $10/day and others at the airport are paying $20-$70 for a local sim, I paid just $5 each for reliable data in Rome, Israel, and Turkey! While you can usually get a sim card in country and outside the airport with 5-10gb for cheaper than $20-$70, the time it takes to do so isn’t worth it and by that point it makes sense to just buy the 2 or 3 gb plan from Airalo for a few bucks more. My 1gb got me through with maps and internet searches for 2-4 days in each location. Data speeds varied between fast and fast enough, as do all carriers, but it was really fast more often than not. I have a 2020 iPhone SE. Very satisfied! Airalo was recommended by a friend and after researching other esim alternatives it looked like the best one. I will definitely be recommending to everyone! (ps, I’m writing just because I’m satisfied. I wasn’t paid by Airalo!)

Reasonable price and very practical. I have been traveling for work and leisure for long time. International SIM plan always has been a headache. I spent nearly $200 for the international plan for about 12 days in my previous trip and the data package was awful. I bought a local sim card for my current trip but that wasn’t good nor cheap either. I found Airalo online and compared with the others. I purchased the 5gb/30 days plan for Costa Rica which was cheaper than the other providers. I took me about less than 10 minutes to purchase and install all together. It saved my trip. It’s been working perfectly in every area I have been in last 10 days. I didn’t have to pay anything to my provider for roaming nor I didn’t have to deal with the local providers like which one shall I chose or how do I top it up for prepaid when I run out of money. It’s very practical, convenient and works smoothly. Price wise it’s better than the other companies. I am very happy about it. Thank you!

Update. I bought a 7-day eSIM and it stopped working out of nowhere halfway through. I got an email saying that they transferred me to a “better network” provider which is fine. But then they proceed to not tell me I had to buy a whole new 7-day eSIM and they “refunded” me the remaining data of my plan. So now with only 3 days left of my trip they want me to buy a new 7-day eSIM and they didn’t even give me enough to cover it, I have to pay extra for the original 7-day service I wanted. Update: I’m now giving them more stars are they finally decided to work with me and give me back my eSIM and the original network. So I now have the original network I started off with before they took it away. So my data works as it did before now and I’m happy once again! I do recommend this app. It’s only 4 stars because they made it so complicated to finally give me back my original plan and I went almost 2 whole days without data because of this ordeal.

Simple, functional, and cheap. I travel ~frequently to different international locations and this is an absolute game changer. Just used it on a work trip to Malaysia with a long layover to Tokyo and had no issues at all and only spent like $5 to have full data access the whole time. I’d suggest installing the esim while still home then going in and swapping off all apps except the ones you need for navigating (maps etc) or communication (WhatsApp messages FaceTime) and credit cards etc. then once you’re on your flight go in and switch which sim is “on” and then when. You land it’ll swap over. Switched back on my (physical still) AT&T sim while on my flight back in airplane mode and then when I switched off airplane mode when on the ground I was back to my normal phone. This is how it should be. Incredible work. Already reccomend fed it to tons of people during this trip and will again.

Does what it needs to, but…. Look, this worked pretty well when I went to the UK (although it did constantly go between LTE/3G, and the fact my phone was constantly searching for a good signal absolutely killed my battery). However, it ended up being wildly unhelpful to not have the ability to make calls with a UK number. Obviously, this would make the service more expensive, and I don’t know how feasible it is. However, when you end up with a flat tire on the side of the highway, it’s pretty important for you to have the ability to call roadside assistance. I won’t be using this service again for that reason alone. Having a local number gives me significant peace of mind. If having an emergency and needing to call someone for help doesn’t concern you, I would still recommend Airalo, but bring along a battery pack for your phone so it doesn’t die in approximately five seconds. Also, don’t be stupid like me. Please bring a USB-A to plug your phone into the rental car to charge because unfortunately I forgot my USB-A, and my USB-C doesn’t plug into any car I know of.

Would definitely use again, but sometimes deprioritized. The first time I used Airalo, I did it through their website. When I set it up for my wife and daughter, I did it through the app, which was easier. The app is clean and intuitive, and lets you see how much data you have left. Airalo’s service worked pretty well - in Italy, I originally had it set to automatically pick a network - however, when I was in a very busy area, I wasn’t getting data despite having a strong signal - I presume I was being deprioritized by the network owner. I manually switched to another network, and was able to get data. I had to do this a few times on the trip. Getting a sim directly from the network owner would avoid this, but it would also be way more complicated. The nice thing with Airalo is that I have one app to deal with getting an esim pretty much anywhere. I’ll definitely be using it again the next time I travel abroad - or even if I run out of data on my main plan at home.

Terrible; avoid at all costs. I’m currently in Colombia. Just prior to my trip I purchased this company’s esim for Colombia, thinking it would be better than buying a physical SIM card here. BIG mistake. I followed all their steps to install and activate it while on a layover in Mex City. When I got to Medellin I quickly realized that the esim DOES NOT WORK FOR PHONE CALLS NOR TEXTS. Yes, I can use it for roaming data to check Google maps, etc., but not for any actual communication. I tried contacting their customer service through the app chat. It took them FIVE DAYS to reply. I’ve been here two weeks now and the only way I can communicate with anyone is via Whatsapp or Face Time. I even had to revert back to my US carrier to check for VM msgs, as Airalo did not allow ANY phone calls from the US to reach me. There were 14 VMs archived. When I return to the US I will contact my credit card company and have the charge for the esim reversed. This company is a complete scam, the service doesn’t work, and there is ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’ve learned my lesson. Next time just buy a physical SIM in the country you’re visiting. Oh, and most of their roaming service is 3G, glacially slow.

Useful with some quirks. Update: Airalo has gotten back to me with some suggested items such as a global SIM which can be used. I’ll try them out. I’ve used this on two trips so far, one to Germany and another to Japan (I live in the US). iPhone 14 pro max has no sim slot so I’m stuck using eSIMs. The good is that you will get data connectivity. I had no problems activating the eSIM and using them. Everything worked ok and even my US provider worked via cellular data. Pricing is ok. Not great but ok. But this app has an appeal to those who want an easy on-ramp to getting connected to many countries. Now the quirks. In Tokyo Japan it connected only at 4G. Not even LTE, but 4G, as in 3G that is labeled as 4G. This was with SoftBank. That’s fine for google maps and other stuff but it’s not very fast. The other eSIM app I used, Ubigi connected via 5G and was pretty fast. You don’t get a native in country sim in some cases. This mostly won’t matter but it could mess with geofencing and geolocation via IP. For example in Japan my eSIM was from Singtel and as such some apps thought I was in Singapore. In Germany it used a SIM from Play (Poland) and some apps thought I was in Poland. The final quirk is that for each country you need to install the eSIM. Some apps like Ubigi just let you install one eSIM and just add in data packs. This one you need to install a SIM for each country. If you travel a lot you could end up with a lot of eSIMs.

traveled Europe for 8 months with Airalo. So easy to install, very convenient for traveling anywhere in the world! I continued using my iPhone from the US while traveling in the UK, France, Greece, Turkey & Montenegro. It took less than 5 mins to buy & install a new esim for each country I visited (oftentimes using the airport wifi after landing in a new country). I recommend naming each esim in your phone with the country name so you can keep track of which esim to turn on/off as you move through different regions. My sister also traveled with me for four months and used Airalo too, I got a referral bonus when she signed up! I’m returning to the US but will continue to just buy a US esim from Airalo because it’s sooooo much cheaper than getting cell service from an American phone company! (I use the Hushed app to call/text with my own American phone number from anywhere in the world for $5/month too). I highly recommend Airalo!

Super useful for traveling, esp through different countries. Could have some UX improvements tho. My bf and I used the app for the first time. We flew to Portugal and the UK. My bf got the regional esim and I got 2 local esims just to test. His regional one worked well and was more seamless when switching countries. His service seemed better a lot of the times too, which was surprising. I got the local esim in case I needed to call any restaurants/stores but never used it. If I were to travel to multiple cities again, I’d definitely use this! I’d also get the regional esim so I wouldn’t have to install again. It’s way cheaper than my phone provider costing $10/day. Highly recommend! Also appreciate the UX/UI, most of it is clear and easy to use. Difficulties: 1. Installing the esim and activating it - this was probably the hardest and most confusing step. We got confused with what labeling of the esim and we were not sure whether or not to turn off my original sim. It’d be helpful to have instructions that were currently on the esim. We ended up turning off our original sim just in case. I also had issues activating and had to restart my phone a couple times. They should recommend that when they have certain errors. 2. Topping up - I had to top up my Portugal esim and it didn’t activate automatically like it said it would. I had to restart my phone multiple times and click a button to activate. Wish this was more seamless as it says it should be.

Worked great for me!. I installed Airalo esims on an IPhone 14 pro max a few days before I left for my trip. I’ve never used an esims for travel before but I found this to be easy to install (as long as you follow the instructions) and even easier to use. I bought the Eurolink 30 days/10gb and used it mostly for maps, searches for things to do, as well as WhatsApp. It worked seamlessly in Ireland, England, Scotland, Norway, Iceland, and the Netherlands. As I travelled from one country to another the service moved from one network provider to another without me having to do anything. I ended up using about 9gb of my data - another person in my group used 8gb. If you are traveling to multiple countries check the regional esims that are offered. That is what I purchased (Eurolink) and fortunately it covered all of the countries I planned to go to. Also keep in mind that this is for data only, not voice and text, but if you use WhatsApp you can still do all of those things. There may be less expensive esims to purchase, I don’t know. But this one worked great for me - no complaints at all.

Really terrible experience. I don’t write reviews ever but people need to hear my experience. I’m sure this doesn’t happen much as it seems many people really like this company, but they really failed me. I arrived in Italy and turned on my esim as I was supposed to. It said it was connected, but I could not access any data. After struggling for an hour to get the data to work or to connect to public wifi I sucked it up and paid international fees for my plan back home. After HOURS talking to customer service they realized there was an issue with their provider and told me it would be fixed. The next day It was working, except for the fact that iMessages wouldn’t send. One of their recommendations involved me turning on my plan back home (with them saying it wouldn’t charge me anything), which worked but charged me in full on my home plan. Don’t worry though, they offered me a refund if I returned their esim (which would leave me completely without connection abroad) or they gave me 25% off a future purchase done by the end of May (capped at $7 while the international fees Alone cost me $30+). Again, I’m sure this doesn’t happen for everyone as most people love this company - I’ve just had a really really bad experience with them and would not recommend them to anyone.

Finally future is here. Great idea. Finally no more switching SIM cards. I found out about Airalo reading travel article. Was skeptical at first but it’s really the greatest thing that I tried recently. You simply purchase desired plan for particular country or region and install e-SIM card on your phone. The process looks complicated at first but if you follow detailed instructions it’s not that difficult. You cannot actually activate the new SIM card while in US but once you arrive to your destination your phone is ready to use. Just make sure you switch from your primary line to travel or whatever you name the new line. You actually don’t have phone number associated with this line so can’t make regular phone calls. But if you have iPhone you can use FaceTime to call or any other app(WhatsApp or Viber). It’s truly great app. Rates are very affordable and you can refill any time. I will definitely use it every time I travel abroad. No more buying SIM cards Thank you Airalo

My new favorite travel hack!. I had never even heard of eSIMs before planning a recent trip to France. In the past, I’ve used Verizon’s Travel Plan ($10 a day for service), which worked reliably but was very expensive on a long trip. And when I go to France, I tend to stay for as long as I can manage. As soon as I learned of Airalo, I read all the how-to’s and watch all the tutorial videos the site provides, then I immediately called Verizon to have my phone carrier unlocked. Airalo was remarkably easy to use from there. The eSIM I chose ended up being a far larger data allowance than I actually needed even though I used my phone absolutely constantly to navigate while I was there, but it was still only just over $20. An enormous difference in price! And the service was excellent the whole time in both Paris and Strasbourg. With hardly a hiccup in service, I am thrilled and very excited to have this inexpensive and easy new way to keep my phone service when I travel. I couldn’t be happier with this product 😊

so helpful!!. I was just on a trip to Switzerland and Croatia for about three weeks total and Airalo was perfect to use! The design of the app is really easy to navigate and had very straightforward instructions for downloading the eSIM. Definitely cheaper than my provider’s international plan and nice to not have to take out my existing SIM card. I did call my provider before installing it because my phone said my SIM was locked even though it shouldn’t have been, but I called them to make sure and I had no issues after that. I’m not sure how this would fair if you’re going across multiple countries for just a few days, but for only 12 days in each country 3 GBs was a great amount to get around when I couldn’t find wifi. The only downside is that you do have to turn off your regular number so I couldn’t send or receive SMS (and any that were sent in the time you don’t see when you turn it back on) nor call — my texts and FaceTime calls just went through iMessage, but that might be a capability I just missed when setting up the eSIM. Either way I definitely recommend Airalo if you’re looking for a simple and easy way to stay online during your travels!

A Traveler’s Dream. Airalo is a game changer. The stressful days of trying to buy a data plan with a physical SIM card abroad, in an unknown town, in a foreign language, are now gone. With Airalo it was a breeze to find the right data package. Their regional plan was even better covering almost everywhere I visited. Cost wise it’s a no brainer: cheaper and more data than what my cellphone company was offering. I only ran into one problem when I initially tried to connect. At first my phone couldn’t find service, but I had googled potential problems and this seems to be common. By turning off automatic network connections and manually selecting the network I was able to get it work. I then turned automatic back on and the rest is history. Crossing borders and changing network providers was almost instantaneous. I don’t normally write reviews, but the thought of this service not existing because it’s unknown (like it was to me before this last trip) is terrifying - thanks to Airalo I no longer have to spend my entire trip panicking about whether or not I am going to lose my normal SIM card while a foreign one takes it’s safe spot inside my phone. Instead I just have data, no assembly required.

Easy, efficient, economical, and EFFECTIVE!. I was skeptical because I'm easily overwhelmed learning a new technology or software or change in my devices (I'm almost 60yo, so I'm in THAT group of digital immigrants -- my kids have always been my in-house IT support). But now traveling on my own internationally, I was tired of paying the $10/day on my US cellphone plan every time I needed/wanted the data service in a new city (especially on travel days when I don't yet know where to find the free wifi). I learned from a friend that it's easier to download the app BEFORE purchasing a data plan (she used the website and then had difficulty figuring out how to transfer her account onto the app, but the Airalo staff were FABULOUS and helpful and took care of it for her). I read through the instructions a couple times, and watched their video tutorial (sent in an email after purchasing a plan), and it was SO EASY! Boom. Just like that, I'm a believer and a fan.

5 week Greece travel using Airalo. Installed the esim on my iPhone-12 a few weeks prior to our departure from USA, and activated it as soon as plane landed at the Athens airport. It did not find the carrier right away even though all the settings seemed to be set correctly. After turning on and off the esim several times I found out that the roaming was not turned on. Turned the roaming on, and everything worked fine. We moved from cities to cities on mainland as well as went to several islands such as Milos, Corfu and Crete. I saw some case where the carrier was not found after we got out of WiFi in the hotel room to the local cities, or the speed became E or LTE, in which cases I had to reboot the iPhone. Afterwards the local carrier was selected at high speed, some in 5G. Overall pretty happy and satisfied with the esim. We bought the 30-day/5GB package for $15, and used around 4.5 GB for 4 week, mostly for navigation on the highway, cities, and to find places to visit. My suggestion is to highlight the main settings in a list, instead of screen shots of settings

Works great- until it doesn’t. When it’s working, it works great. But that’s true of all eSIM providers. When it’s not working is where the problem lies. I had two SIM cards suddenly stop working while in Chile. The first time I was texting with their chat support for 5 hours (slowly answering all the troubleshooting steps I told them at the beginning I had already tried) and finally got an $8 prorated credit. Not at all worth the time. The second time I tried a global card and again it worked for several days before stopping. Another endless chat session. I finally went to bed and woke up to find they’d closed my support session for lack of response in the middle of the night. Unresolved, my SIM expired the next day. Their only solution was to buy another card and they’d keep trying to fix it. I tried a competitor and had a similar problem, but their support was MUCH better: fast, responsive, and it looks like we’ve solved the problem, a buried setting on my phone. Unfortunately I can’t recommend Airalo because their support just isn’t good enough.

Pass! Buy another esim. Me and 7 other friends bought this esim for a trip to Bali Indonesia. I typically buy Holafly, but this esim was a little bit cheaper and had great reviews. I have never had issues with an esim before with Holafly, and the service was always great. Skip to Airalo, and my esim stopped providing service for exactly 24 hours. I did absolutely everything I could, reset my network, turned off/on my phone, switched off/on the network etc… I know my way around an iphone and I was able to deduce the issue being on the Airalo esim. After contacting support and getting a reply 7 hours later, they were of no help. Finally my esim started working again magically 24 hours after it stopped working. Airalo provided no assistance or compensation because “they were unable to run troubleshooting steps” (maybe if they replied quicker they would have told me to do exactly what I already did). I had to pay the $10 for my personal cellular data to kick in for the data to make up for the lack of internet I had for the 24 hours. 2 of my friends had the same issue, although 1 of them had the issue for 72 hours. I would stay away from Airalo, the product is subpar, and if I’m paying for service, I would rather ensure it work for the entirety of my trip. Also a support chat that would allow me to have the issue fixed/ get a new sim card within an hour would be nice.

The best way to travel overseas. My friends and I all purchased Airalo Global eSIM’s when traveling back and forth between three different countries recently. I found the eSIM easy to set up in the Airalo App, just have reliable access to Wi-Fi for this part of the process and follow the instructions carefully. I actually set it up at home the day before I flew out, and just had it turned off in settings until I was ready to use it. The data access worked so well and the only very small glitch was it occasionally took a short time to start again in a new country. It gave me peace of mind if family needed to contact me in an emergency, and not having to worry about any unsecured Wi-Fi. It was reasonably priced and saved the hassle of a local sim in each country. I’ll definitely be using it again when I travel again in a few months time. I can keep this eSIM and just top it up when ready.

AVOID: Less than 1mbps speeds in Asia. I purchased an Airalo Asialink eSIM and had issues from the moment I landed in Thailand. Download speeds didn’t get over 1mbps and were as low as 0.17mbps, making the internet practically unusable unless on wifi. I spent 3 days going in circles with their support staff, who tried to gaslight me into believing that the speeds I were experiencing were expected for roaming SIMs. When I asked for a refund, they said it’s not possible because I’ve already used some of the data. Please, if you only listen to 1 review, don’t make the same mistake as I did and buy from someone else. It’s not worth the headaches. Go with Nomad or a local SIM. Sure, it’s probably going to be slightly more expensive, but it’s going to save you time and headaches in the long run.

My Go To app for overseas mobile. Amazing company that allows you to buy airtime and/or data at prices practically equivalent to local rates. Easy install if you follow the instructions. It helps if you know a little about the mobile setup process in iPhone. Key one is to ensure roaming is switched ON in the eSIM profile. But follow the guide and it does the install for you. Also found it’s better to wait until you’re in the country to install the new eSIM. And you also need to have wifi to be able to buy the app purchase.

Very pleased with this. I am by no means a techno. So I was quite nervous taking this on. I confess, I am not sure I know just how I got it to work. But work it did. My data use is quite low and the 10g I purchased seemed to last forever. But then it started chewing thru it. I suspect all the web sites I accessed and their cookies? It didn’t work for a while, and the suggestions I received were very helpful. Then I realised it was my fault. On one flight I had turned off data roaming - duh! My own phone is a pre paid. So there was no way the data roaming applied to my home mobile My only issue is that when I needed to to a top up, for my last country. The offer came up for multiple countries- which I had previously purchased. I could have paid half the price if I had realised I could nominate one country. But for the hassle free access, I am prepared to accept this. My friend who had another option - had so many issues with wifi dropping out

The future in OS data access. This really is the future in overseas travel data access. So much easier than going into a store and buying and setting up a new SIM card on you phone. Topping up is easy too. Set up on an iPhone is a little bit tricky in terms of knowing exactly how to set up the on off switches for the airalo vs your primary service. Overall whilst OS I found it quite reliable and we travelled through UK, Spain & Portugal & Morocco. Some areas are a bit slow but that would happen with any service. Still, great for using google maps in particular. Would be great if you could use it to make calls and send /receive SMS. Recommended.

Works well once installed. I used an ESIM while travelling in Mexico for a couple of months. I found the installation difficult if you try to organise it’s activated once you land. I wasn’t able to get it right on the iPhone without a lot of trial and error and assistance from a friend. I’m usually good at technology so tad frustrated that I could get it to work properly first off. They offer assistance by calling up but once your in country that’s not possible without a wifi connection. Once installed it was great. Only limited by reception. Note you can’t call and don’t have a new number. So you’re limited to WhatsApp or messenger but that works for most things. Having access to maps was important for me so having data available important

Airalo E sim. Used the Airalo E sim for the first time when visiting family recently in LA. Chose as an option to using a locally purchased SIM card. The E sim allowed us to keep in touch with family via WhatsApp (using purchased data on E sim) and it worked perfectly. We hardly used any of the data and turned out even better than anticipated. Make sure you go through the online process of installing the E sim prior to your trip and when you arrive at your destination go to settings/mobile/your installed “Airalo E sim”/toggle on “Turn on this line”/go to “Network selection” and chose local network and finally toggle on “Data roaming”. Things to note is 1) the“Data roaming”is only to be used with this Airalo E sim 2) have WhatsApp connections in place prior to trip.

Disappointing. The first sim I purchased did not install correctly on the first attempt, and as a result was unable to activate it at all. So i deleted it and started the process again by purchasing a new sim with less GB so as to not lose as much $ if it was not successful in installing again. This one worked, and for 2 days the data was great, super fast and reliable. My partners was the same (his sim worked on the first try) but after a couple of days, it was so slow, almost to the point of not being able to load anything including google maps, which was incredibly frustrating as we thought we could rely on the internet to navigate our way around. We did some research, which suggested that higher density populated areas could result in this, as you are a lower priority within the network. We were in Japan, so as you can imagine it was very busy. But when we left the cities and were rural, the sim was still just as slow for the remainder of the trip and we ended up just giving up on it and spent a fortune using our Telstra daily roaming plan at $10 a day. After reading such great reviews we had high hopes for this one but it was really such a frustrating waste of money and time

European esim. I used the regional esim for Europe which so far has been super helpful! It picks up any available service in any European country that I travel too. Service wise everything is fast and downloads quickly. Once you purchase a sim you can top it up without offloading and having to redownload anything so you just pay for more data and it’s there in seconds. My only fault would be that there is no option to have a phone number so there is noway to call anyone if I need to which is a little risky when travelling. In that case I have to switch back to my roaming service.

Fantastic - super worth it. I used an Airalo e-sim card when I had a complicated trip going to four different countries in two different continents on my first overseas trip since Covid. It was brilliant – easy to set up, worked perfectly everywhere, gave me clear information as to how much data I had left and was equally easy to top up. I never had to call customer service once. I have kept the Sim card on my phone since then and used it on two other trips without having to do any extra work. It covers multiple countries, the prices seem really reasonable to me and the fact that you don’t get a local number was an advantage for me as it means that I can still check the voicemail on my local number or even answer it if necessary while away. You do need access to public or someone else’s Wi-Fi to make it seamless if you don’t have a local number but in the places I was that was easy. The only thing that is slightly complicated is learning to toggle between the eSIM number and your original number but I figured it out. Overall, I think it’s a game changer and I won’t be going back to any other way of keeping my phone usable while overseas.

Great Service. Traveling abroad has always been a battle to find WiFi since Telcos from home charge extraordinary prices for data roaming overseas, with little flexibility and daily limits. I was nervous about trying an eSim as the technology was foreign to me. The Airlo eSim has been an absolute joy. It was exceptionally easy to set up (even for a 65+ like me)and works like a dream. The normal phone sim and the eSim work together seamlessly and calls, texts and data all work without you needing to do anything. I would recommend wholeheartedly to any one wanting data on the go when traveling overseas

Smooth from the start.. I was new to e-sims and did my reading, chose Airolo. Even before I purchased they promptly answered a question I had. It was easy to set up in my home country and on arrival in France followed instructions and turned off my provider, switched to Airolo and had great coverage at all times. I made sure my skype account was in credit and planned to use that for phone calls (didn’t factor in Microsoft having a Skype meltdown but eventually got around it.) And in any case it’s a few small setting adjustments to switch back to home Telco if one needs to. All up: e-sims revolutionise international travel, and Airolo has been nothing but helpful and efficient. Highly recommend.

Easy and worked perfectly!. After years of juggling expensive little sim swaps during pre-Covid international travel, the Airalo eSim is just amazing. There are so many different options to suit your destinations - single or groups of countries - and your data usage. And it’s surprisingly cheap. Because it was such a new concept I was very nervous about the process, but you purchase digitally through the app, install before you leave home by following the little demo video provided, and then just turn it on in your phone settings when you plane lands. I had INSTANT connection in each country, and the app informs you of your data usage and it’s easy to top up with small affordable amounts if you need. This is simple and affordable and a must for international travel.

Loved the convenience and ease of the installation.. I recently used the Airalo App as it was recommended to me by someone else. I purchased my E Sim through the app and downloaded it for a recent trip to Bali. It has been a seamless experience and I am by no means that good with technology. Just follow the clear instructions and you can’t go wrong. I had the E-Sim all ready to go from home and activated it as soon as I got off the plane. It connected to the provider and just like that I had data for my travels. I will be using this type of E- Sim again. I have already recommended it to my family. I was also able to keep my own number and didn’t have to stress about expensive roaming rates.

Works fabulous for data. I bought the eSim for a trip to Japan and it worked great. I didn’t realise it required wifi for set up so with some trepidation I used the airport wifi but it worked. The instruction provided on setting it up were very clear. Loved the notifications re low data and I ended up purchasing a top-up. I did have problems with my primary number though, which I’d set up for text and phone line. I received a few incoming calls, which instead of showing up as coming from Australia showed up as local Japanese numbers. I wasn’t sure if these were spam or not. I even asked my Mum to call to work out if I would see an Australian number calling (which it did) but not sure why the other numbers showed up as being local. I also didn’t receive the voicemails that were left until I arrived back home. I also couldn’t send a text. All of these functions would have been great to have working as normal. Not sure if this was user error but the number switching was def weird.

Cheap but definitely not nasty. First time user based on recommendation of another first time user. Will not be my last. Airalo has created an easy to install, simple to use eSim data roaming offering. During a recent visit to North America I purchased a 3GB data package. It worked well in both city and rural settings. In 3 weeks I used just under half the data. Streaming, messaging, mobile phone access using my existing home country number, worked better than any package I have used offshore before.

Auto top up. The app is easy to use and simple dashboard reports usage at a glance BUT Airalo let’s all this down with its failure to reliably Topping Up data. Airalo sends an email following a Top Up order notifying you “not to worry, your top up package will activate automatically when your existing package runs out”. This happens most of the time but when it fails to do this you have no data and can’t even access your account via the App. Interrogation of their system will show the refresher package as FINISHED and elsewhere as NOT ACTIVATED. This is poor software system communication. Their response is to check the eSIM in question but you cannot access it given you are forced to ORDER a new top up to get data. There maybe a reporting problem with a failure to advise NEW top up is now ACTIVE (when this cuts in) NEW TOP up is about to gets to 25% and you need to top up. In this instance there was a failure to do so.

Excellent product. Really pleased with this product. Delighted not to have to pay absurd roaming fees or to have to swap out physical sims. Setup was pretty straightforward and key point to understand is that you’re simply diverting your normal data usage on your physical SIMULATOR , to a pre paid data data allowance on your eSIM, which co-exists with your physical SIM. You buy as much data as you need upfront and then toggle your data usage to run off your eSIM. Traditional phone calls still run through your physical sim so avoid that by using WhatsApp, Signal, etc for any calls you want to make - all that data runs off your eSIM.

A bit unreliable. I used Airolo on a 6 week trip covering Europe, the UK and Japan. In short, it worked pretty well in large cities, but the Scottish Highlands, the Rhine and parts of Switzerland were beyond its capabilities. In Japan, it took 3 days and many messages to management to actually bring the eSim to life. This mystified me as it’s generally very well reviewed and seems to work for most people. I’m disappointed that it was not reliable for me. I’m suspicious of apps that require a second device (or worse still, internet access - isn’t that what you’re paying for?) before they can be installed or activated. Great idea - needs some work to sort out the issues.

My great first experience with travel e-sims. This is my first experience with a travel e-sim. It was easy to set up in advance before I arrived at my first destination (USA). It connected to the local network and I was able to use my apps to call friends. I needed to use Google maps live view whilst walking to several destinations and the data worked very reliably. I subsequently purchased a regional Asian e-sim for use in Malaysia and yet another e-sim for use in India on this extended trip. Airalo’s plans are economical as they also have plans with a lower data allowance for users like me. I will continue to use e-sims from Airalo on future travels.

Don't be afraid of the magic of virtual SIMs, and the price is right.. My first eSIM with Airalo has been a good experience so far. I got a data only ‘Europe’ package as I'm visiting UK and Turkey over a couple of months. The price is reasonable, the sign up was easy. The activation required a bit of new knowledge in unknown areas of my iPhone settings menu, but once I had understood this, it has been easy too. I can use VOIP apps like WhatsApp to stay in contact with people via voice and text message. I travel to Turkey later in July and will find out how the package works there too. 39 countries and neither UK nor Turkey are in Europe!

Happy repeat customer. I first tried Airalo esim in Spain and Iceland - so much easier to use than trying to buy a normal sim, and changing from my Australian sim. It was super easy to top up, too. My next esim was for India - in didn’t realise that my dim didn’t transfer to my new phone, but the team at Airalo fixed that for me, easily. Third esim was a local one for Jordan - again, super easy to use, and gave me enough data for my short stay. Very happy with the product and the service, especially the global esim, as i just need yo to up when needed. Would highly recommend !!!

Great product - simple and effective. I was travelling through multiple countries in Europe and was delighted how simple it was to download and activate the e-sim. The instructions on how to use it are straightforward and simple to follow. It worked perfectly giving me seamless coverage without needing to change my phone number so I could still send and receive iMessages and calls. It was especially useful in Andorra to avoid the very expensive roaming charges there. You do need a later model than iPhone 11 though. It wouldn’t work for a friend with an 11 but was perfect on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro.

Game Changing Travel App. I was recently introduced to Airalo whilst in Qatar for the F1. Having limited data roaming data from Virgin KSA, and not wanting to spend a fortune on a dedicated data sim along with the hassle of using my passport at a physical kiosk, a friend showed me his solution to data roaming whilst travelling. Enter Airalo, easy to download, easy to use, multiple data (and call) packages available for most of the world. I selected the eSIM required for 7 days data and within 5 minutes I was powered up and online. You seriously cannot travel without Airalo! #GameChanger

Easy to use sim. Good price.. This sim I found easy to use turn on and off when needed. Only data but saved us on a number of occasions. Well priced compared to our local overseas travel Telstra/ Boost packs that were on offer. Installed through App was easy and automatically done. When asked bout keeping your local phone number just keep it. I was asked a few times if I wanted to keep using my local Boost number and just hit the keep button. Can also run two sim at same time. But preferred to switch between them. I found AOL sim was more reliable at times for data.

The best way to buy data when travelling. I’ve just bought a small data pack for 2 weeks in Japan. Not going to lie- it was a little complicated to understand and set up at first but the support crew at Airalo were fantastic. I’m not tech savvy. They walked me through each step by way of a very timely return email then followed up to see if I had any questions or difficulties. Service like that is pretty awesome. I haven’t arrived at my destination yet so at the time of writing, I cannot say if I have installed and set up correctly. I bought Airalo on the recommendation of a friend which gave me a bonus credit and now I’ve referred others which have added bonus $ to my account and theirs. At this price, why would you buy data any other way.

Easy as 123. While I’m still to use the mobile data service in Europe the ease of setting up the eSIM on the phone couldn’t have been easier. The online tutorial is comprehensive and easy to follow plus the app provides excellent documentation during the configuration process. I’ve also loaded the Airalo eSIM on two additional devices for friends and they both couldn’t believe how simple the process of installing the eSIM was. UPDATE Landed in Helsinki and within 40 seconds had full mobile Data service in the last 10 days I've moved within three different countries and seamlessly the service is 100% operational.

Such a great solution to mobile roaming. After a week of navigation between WiFi networks of variable quality, I was very grateful to be introduced to Airolo … I’m not very tech savvy and found the videos and step by step guides were easy to follow - great instructional design. Got myself set up and connected easily for Italy and then france. My Italian esim hadn’t expired when I returned from France and I could re activate it easily. I have saved big time on the lumpy fees that happen when you can’t find decent WiFi and need to use data from your primary carrier. Very highly recommend this app!

More simple than I thought. I decided to use the eSim capability of my iPhone with some trepidation but the support from Airalo has been great. Neither my local data supplier nor Apple support were a lot of help so if you decide to use the eSim and need help go direct to Airalo. I bought a sim to use in Europe in July and it is sitting there ready to activate. But I decided to buy a $3 USA to test it out here in Australia. After following the instructions it worked although not as fast as my local service provider. I’m in a poor service area so I’m not surprised. The only thing that would make the support go from great to exceptional would be to have something that refers to using the eSim on the iPad. There looks to be a few minor differences that you have to work through yourself.

SIM cards don’t work and no assistance. I have complained many times that after a day of working my e sim just suddenly stopped working I had small contact with the company who failed to resolve the issue with minimal effort. I kept asking but. I one replied.. Left on my own after 2 days in an important business trip without wifi I have now purchased from a superior provider. I think this is a very unethical company as not only does their product not work but they stop responding after some time. I’ll continue to pursue this issue until I get a full refund and apology. UPDATE: I have since been contacted by Airalo with an apology and a credit to use on my next trip. Hopefully there are no issues next time and the E-SIM works as advertised.

Simply great. I was apprehensive purchasing an Esim as I’d never heard of them before, however the esims offered were very well suited for where I needed to go (Japan, Switzerland, Germany and Italy). I purchased one Esim for Japan and the European Esim for the Europe part of my trip. Activation can seem a little confusing if it’s the first time you’ve done it but once you’ve done it one time it’s quite straight forward, just take your time with it, the initial installation can take quite a while. I installed my Japan Esim before leaving Australia as this Esim only activated once it connected to the Japanese mobile network. While I was waiting in customs I switched on the Esim waited about 10 minutes for it so connect to the network and from there it was very reliable, I only had one issue when I was catching a train home at night where I lost service for about 20 minutes, other than that it was great! I installed the Europe Esim before I left Japan to head to Switzerland and had exactly the same experience as I did in Japan; switch it on, wait 5-10 minutes for it to find the network and you don’t have to think about it again! Will I use an Esim again? Yes, obviously and the rates and deals offered on Airalo are very competitive. This was my first actual trip overseas by myself and so I needed reliability and that is exactly what I got with these esims.

UK & Italy. I have been actively using the app abroad for about 6 weeks. The initial activation process needs a good connection so should be planned for on arrival. I tried to install before departure then activate on arrival, but this didn’t seem to save time and may have caused issues with messages connecting; a reliable 2 step install/activate process may help getting up and running on arrival. The help system is quite good once you understand what info the Bot is looking for. Top ups are straightforward. Sometimes the activation/top up doesn’t show as activated; I found running a speed test would kick start this. Picking the best provider for your locality is key, the app tells you to use manual selection, so access to coverage maps would be good and it pays to check what providers support your SIM before arrival

I’m Happy and have referred to many. Have been travelling for 2 months in EGypt,GReece,Turkey,England,Italy,France and Morocco and have used Airalo and have been very happy . only place with any issue which i think is more a local issue has been Morocco and also when around GRand Prix in Morocco . Great for when first arriving in new country at airport . Just so handy and less stress when you are out for maps or ubers or taxis as each country differs in available wifi. this companies sim cost was less than another company i had started with . Best travel hack i have become aware of on this trip and at 61 was happy to enlighten my kids about something they were not aware of. Happy travels

Amazing. My current cell phone provider has great roaming bundles when I travel but on a recent trip I found out that they don’t support Mexico. After a quick Google, I came across this app. What a great feature I didn’t even realise eSims were a thing. It was easy to buy an eSim for Mexico and bought another one for a day trip in USA. I will be getting family members to install this for when they come visit to Bali, it is so much easier than having to get a physical SIM card and the app is easy to use to check data and top up.

Good coverage in Bali. The Esim was easy to install and manage. It connected as soon as the plane landed. When used in conjunction with wifi the plan I chose was 5gig for 30 days and so far after 10 days I have only used 700mb so the 5gig should last for 30 days. The only downside for me is that with an Esim you don’t get a phone number and I normally use a transport app in Bali which requires an Indonesian phone number so I can’t use that app. To get around that problem when I return home I will swap my primary physical sim with an Esim and then when I travel I will purchase a physical sim that comes with a local phone number. If you don’t need a local phone number then using an Esim is very convenient as you can set it up at home and it’s connected as soon as you arrive and you don’t need to worry about finding a phone shop. I also love that the app shows exactly how much data you are using. All in all a great product.

Makes multi-country travel a breeze. We used Airalo on our 7 month round-the-world trip and it was perfect. There were countries we were in for only a few days so getting separate sims would have been a waste. The global e-sim covered a majority of the countries we needed and others we could purchase individual packs for. The customer service was great when I needed to switch my e-sim to a new phone. Yes, it’s slightly more than a traditional sim but the convenience of having internet as soon as you get off the plane is so completely worth it

Esims a real game changer for overseas travel. Travelling in Europe used to be an issue with phones…. However esims from airalo make it dead easy. I used an international esim and didnt need topping up the whole time….we were travelling for two months. Airalo also was the most cost effective and easy to set up. They do a great job. I checked out many providers and decided airalo was the best for the variety of products and the comprehensive list of features. I mae sure I got an esim with DATA, TEXT and importantly VOICE. Esims have changed the way I use my technology overseas.

Easy to use and worked well. Set up our e-SIMS back home in Australia before we left for Europe and Japan. Easy to add, able to choose amount of data, good price. Turned off my primary number from home when I flew out. Switched on e-SIM that I named Europe when arrived in Europe and I will turn off when I leave and open Japan when I get there. Just go to settings in phone then mobile to toggle between. Maybe once I couldn’t get internet so I just turned off and back on in settings mobile and worked straight away. I’ve added the Airalo widget to my mobile screen so I can track my data usage. You also receive an email if it’s running low. Very happy with it and anticipating that I will have no problems in Japan.

Happy Customer. I loaded the eSIM in Australia to use on our holiday in Europe. As I’ve never used an eSIM before I was a bit concerned whether I would be successful loading it properly on my iPhone. I downloaded the eSIM and activated it at home and as soon as I landed in Amsterdam to my delight I was up and running with internet coverage. We are visiting multiple countries throughout Europe and the British Isles and will be away for 6 weeks so this eSIM will enable us to keep in touch with family back home. I also have been using the eSIM for Google Maps, banking and booking tours. I’m very happy to rate Airalo with a 5 star rating. Susan

It just works seamlessly. My first experience with Esims. You need to pay attention at the beginning and follow the process carefully. I did this the day before leaving to remove stress and I knew I had a solid wifi connection. I then labeled it travel so I could recognise the Esim. Then I turned off the data on my home country Sim and turned the new sim on. I moved through UK and Europe and it worked wherever I went. You can even buy a local sim if you need a mobile number and operate one for the mobile and the other for data. All done in settings or just use what’s app or FaceTime The Airalo apps great as well. I was with three family members who purchased local data sims and all had problems and top up was a pain. We cut our losses and purchased more Airalo Esims so we all had data. Brilliant.

Literally the worst - AVOID. The 5 star reviews on this app are fake. I purchased an eSIM because Airalo advertised I would be able to receive iMessages and there would be prompt support. Wrong. I have not been able to receive iMessages at all while abroad. It has taken 3 days to even get a response to my support request. This has made my travel so difficult :( Never trust Airalo, their advertising is false, their positive reviews are all fake and they don’t care if your trip is ruined. Zero stars. Update: I requested a refund since Airalo did not give me what I paid for. Airalo refused and said I could only have a partial credit. So now I can attest that Airalo does not comply with the Australian Consumer Law. Don’t trust them when they say they will “make it right”. Everything they say is a lie. I hope this review will help other travellers avoid having their holidays ruined by this scam company.

Highly recommend!. I used this app during my recent visit to Bali and it was awesome! It is really simple and easy to use, the 4G was fast, I had no issues with the service, and it ended up being cheaper than if I were to buy a SIM card over there. The only problem was that I didn’t buy enough data initially and ended up running out while I was away from my villa and trying to contact a friend - so maybe adding an option to turn on notifications for when the data is running low would be helpful so I could have topped up before going out - or maybe the app already has this functionality and I just didn’t enable it 😅 either way, I am going to be recommending this app to anyone travelling overseas. It’s much better than buying a new SIM card as I just used WhatsApp to make calls and contact people I needed to!

Perfect way of being in touch from home. I was hesitant at first as I was more of a roaming guy to be in touch with important people but with the experience I would definitely recommend it as you’re 24/7 connected and no worries of thinking you might blow up your mobile roaming bills. I did encounter an issue as I’ve activated it beforehand and once I’ve reached destination didn’t work after turning it ON but managed to fix it. And plus internet connection is everywhere though a little patchy sometimes without the need of looking for a free wifi somewhere. Would definitely use it again for my next journey. Overall it’s good and hoping it would be the same to other destinations in future travel.

India esim. My airalo esim was relatively easy to install and worked like a charm as soon as I touched down in Delhi. 2GB of data was more than enough for my 14 days in India. My only criticism of Airalo was that on my last day in India I had no service. I contacted Airalo. Their response time was slow (several hours of waiting for an agent), then I was asked to supply screenshots, check settings etc when in fact there was a network outage. 15 hours later service was restored but at no time during those 15 hours did Airalo notify me of the problem. Fortunately it didn’t matter too much as I managed to get by but if I’d really needed it it could have been very problematic. I would have liked better comms! Would still recommend.

Excellent to compliment free wifi while overseas using your own mobile number. I am so pleased I am using eSIM Airalo App while travelling overseas. It is a great way to compliment free wifi without paying exorbitant costs in international data roaming. Better still, no swapping of SIM cards and I am able to use my own mobile number. Use local eSIM if you are in one country If in Europe, use regional and if travelling around the world, use global eSIM. I find the cost rather reasonable compared to my own mobile provider using international roaming (Telstra Australia) at $10/day based on local Australian time. Once data is used up, I can top up (purchase more). Tips: Turn off your own primary mobile provider Turn on wifi, use free wifi at accommodation Turn on eSIM airalo, it will turn on when there is no free wifi If you want to save your data even more, turn on aeroplane mode when you are out and not needing to use data. Only turn off aeroplane mode when you need to use airalo. Always make sure your primary mobile provider data roaming is off… good luck.

Highly Recommended. I have now used an Airalo eSim on three occasions, one for Europe and two Global for use in the US and Mexico. It has worked well on each occasion and I'll certainly be using it again for further travels in 2023. It's important to understand it is for data only which is exactly what I wanted. Using WhatsApp rather than texting serves the same purpose and saves activation of an expensive Telco 'DayPass'. Being able to leave your physical Sim card in the phone for emergency calls ensures there is no threat of losing your home Sim card with physical Sim card changes by purchasing in a specific country. Just be careful with purchasing the Global eSim not to purchase too early because it will activate immediately if it is valid in your home country or country of purchase. I time the download the day before I am due to depart. Also turn off data roaming on your home Sim card to ensure there is no chance of 'Day Pass' activation.

It should be the best one. I just finished my holiday in Indonesia for 6 weeks. Now I am in Australia, I used Airalo from the day one when landing in Soekarno Hatta Airport. It was easy to activate the esim and top up the data. I went to Manado ( North Sulawesi ) and also some of small town surroinding it without any disconnected network. I stayed more than 3 weeks in Bandung and also went to a small town with 3 hours by driving, there is no any problem of connection. I am happy customer and glad to recommend it to anyone who needs it. I would like to suggest the choice of data will have a bigger one such as 20GB. Thank you.

Great way to travel. Recently used an Airalo esim on a trip to Bali. It was much better than paying daily roaming fees and let me keep my own number to use for wifi in the hotel etc. The instructions to set it up and activate it were clear. It was easy to check how much data I had used via the app and the option to top up if I needed was available too. With the esim I was able to use messenger WhatsApp and FaceTime for calling and messages which worked really well. Also allowed me to use maps when we were out and about. Would definitely recommend.

Timor Leste eSim. I have been travelling here a lot over the past year and have tried a Mifi, SIM card, and my Australian service provider (Tesla). The Telstra $10 a day travel package just doesn’t work, the mifi needs to be loaded often and charged almost constantly if being used a lot and I lost the nano sim through removing and changing every time I travelled. So I am trial of this and had the best access since starting to travel to Dili. So far, so good! It’s cost US$6.50 for the week but am using it in together with a mifi and this seems to be the best for my purposes.

Very convenient and easy to set up. I used Airalo for my 3-week trip to the Philippines. It’s super easy to use and the eSIM installation was really easy to follow, I didn’t encounter any issue setting it up. It worked throughout my trip in the Philippines, although the connection was sometimes slow and spotty, but that was probably because of the areas I was in, as I did stay in somewhat remote locations. A fair warning though, the eSIM’s are data only and don’t come with a phone number. This ended up being an issue for me because all public wifi I found (including in hotels) required me to enter a Filipino phone number to use them, so I couldn’t use any of them (would have saved a few GB of data) and I had to completely rely on the eSIM data. If not having a local number is not an issue for you and you just need data, then Airalo will do the job for you without any hassle.

Super easy and it works. I downloaded the app on our last day of cruise in Japan and I needed few more days of data coverage for our post-cruise tour in Tokyo. Sign up process was super easy through Google. Top-up for data plan was also easy. User friendly interface and it was cheaper than my other eSIM that I had on my phone. Highly recommend.

Do not buy this product!!!. We arrived in Mexico thinking this would be a quick set up like when you buy a SIM card….please be aware this is not simple it is 2 days I working on this problem. Trust me a lot easier to buy a SIM card and swap it .

Convenient, Cheap and easy to use. Just came back from Iceland and tried Airalo for the first time and my experience was VERY good! It's easy to use via the app, secure and I had NO issues at all with network coverage nor network strenght across the whole country. I'll definitly give it another try in my next travel! Hint 1: Buy and install the eSim the day before or before you take off. Hint 2: After the eSim install, make sure you switch your cellular data network BEFORE taking the airplane mode off.

Works in Mexico. Works well in Mexico easy to use. Nice to be able to get information fast on the go and not rely on free Wi-Fi.

What a perfect way to travel. We found the use of an e-sim to be easy and trouble free. There was never an issue with its use and when we used wifi the transition back and forth was seamless. Highly recommended!

Lost eSIM and was not supported by the team to have it reinstated. I recently bought an eSIM that is supposed to be good for a year. The new iPhone came end of September. Had all my data backup done and the transfer to the new phone was done including the eSIM. But when you try to use the eSIM. It would not work. It was considered deleted. I have been going back and forth with the support team, and they told me that I will be given credit to purchase a new eSIM, instead of just reinstating it! This is very disappointing.

Pleasantly surprised. We booked a 9 day cruise from Lisbon to Barcelona. Wifi on the ship is very expensive, once your off the ship it’s useless because you’re no longer connected. I needed data so that I could use google maps while visiting ports of call, check emails and text my family and send some pictures. The Airalo eSIM did all that and more. We purchased the Europe regional eSIM for 30 days and 3 GB of data, this was less expensive than a martini on the ships martini bar. Pleasantly surprised When at sea, if we could see land and were on the top deck (by the pool) we had connectivity, one or two bars. While in port we had connectivity in our stateroom (interior cabin) again one or two bars but connected never the less. There were a couple of things that I couldn’t figure out. I was a little nervous if Airilo eSIM would work, I downloaded the eSIM prior to leaving for my trip. Once at the destination I activated the card. It would have been nice if the folks at Airalo created two YouTube videos, one for prior to departure and another at destination. Wasn’t sure if data roaming should be on or off, I left it off, seemed to work ok When on the ship if we were connected to the “free ships WIFI” used to check your account, daily planner or book excursions the eSIM didn’t seem to work, I guess this made sense because if your connect to wifi why would you need data.

Great app. This is my first time using an esim card. We are travelling in Europe. The app is easy to install and use, very reasonably priced and, so far, we have had no issues and no roaming charges from our regular provider!

Easy to use - cant believe it exists. I was skeptical to try the service when it randomly popped up on. Google. I travel a lot and usually get a new sim in each country. usually the cost of a new sim in an airport is usually expensive. I found the prices quarter of the price quoted in an airport. I deciede to give it a try in Switzerland (most expensive place to buy anything). The steps to install were simple and i was not even expecting it to work. To my surprise it worked perfectly. The speed was great and setup was quick. I ended up using it again for my 2nd location (ireland) right away. Definitely will start using them going forward. So glad i found them. Give them a try too.

Fantastic App!. This was my first time using Airalo’s app and I was very pleased. It was easy to install on my phone and fairly simple for me to get it working, I didn’t need my teenaged son to help me at all! I will definitely use it again the next time I travel out of country. 🙂

Perfect for travelling. So much cheaper than buying a data roaming package from your cell phone provider. My wife and I used it when travelling to the United States (we’re from Canada) and it worked great. Never purchasing a data roaming package again from my cell phone provider. I’m going with Airalo.

Eastern Europe 2023. The e sim worked well save for a couple of little issues: 1. I bought a 30 day plus a 7 day top up at the same time and installed then at the same time. I didn’t know they would run concurrently with the last installed one being the active one. I will be smarter next time. When I added a 7 day top up it automatically switched over. This was great!!! 2. The e sim does not like train stations. I’m sure it’s an electrical interference problem caused by the location. As soon as I left the stations it worked fine. 3. I had to turn off some apps because it appeared that my data was being used quickly. I also needed to put it on airplane mode to prevent data usage, especially at night Thank you Robert Jong

Super easy and works great. Have the Europass and so far works perfectly in Spain!

Don’t Restart your Phone!. This app worked perfectly my first 5 days in Portugal. Then I had to restart my phone. After that I couldn’t receive or send any emails and Airalo support did not help at all - simply said to contact my service provider which I did but they could not call me as this was a data only plan and it wouldn’t accept calls. Totally frustrated with how it stopped my emails from working. And totally disappointed that Airalo had no suggestions as to how to fix it. Probably won’t use this eSim again.

Disaster. This was a terrible experience as I am just charged money for something that is failing to launch properly through no fault of mine. It is obviously not my iPad since the same application work in the last seven days. However it now stopped working completely and the support services are just automated responses tgAt are totally useless and unhelpful. There must be better semis out teHere avoid this one.

Essaie. Mon utilisation de e SIM était un test et ma première en prévision d’un voyage prochain en Espagne. Est-ce que je pourrai avoir les explications en français?

Works well, cheap but needs better user interface. I travel frequently, this app has been a life-saver! It's cheap, easy to top up and sends timely messages when you are running out of data. It includes so many countries also. My only complaint is that it's sometimes difficult to tell whether I am using my phone providers roaming data or the esim. I would love a fix that somehow indicates this more clearly as I got charged for a few days of roaming when I didn't realize which sim I was using!

Great app. Bought Airalo esim for recent trip to USA. Installed before leaving. Easy to install. Worked perfectly. Bought a top up which I didn’t need in the end. Used customer service email for a few questions along the way. Instant reply. Info provided was perfect. Will use again for other travels.

Great in US. First time user and I am loving it. Connection is pretty good. Price is reasonable and you don't need to get a physical local SIM. Usually when I travel to the US, I would pay 10-15 dollars a day to my Canadian phone company to roam in the US. This has saved me a lot if money.

Worked in Italy. Easy setup, full LTE In Positano. Rome worked great as well, any issues were just network congestion in busy tourist spots. Highly recommended for Canadians escaping high roaming daily charges. So far so good!

Latin America: Guatemala & Mexico. First time using an eSIM and it worked better than my partner’s who was using HolaFly, so we’ll be using Airalo from now on. Airalo was a much better alternative than our Canadian provider, Bell, who could only offer an extortive fee of $16 CAD/day in each region! We were in Guatemala and Mexico for 3 weeks, so I used a 2 gig 2 week Latin America package and had to top up with a 1 week 1 gig option during the last week. We were relying on my phone to navigate in non-tourist areas using maps and the web daily as it would pick up local providers and signals much better than my partner’s HolaFly. I wasn’t posting to social media unless I was using WiFi. Definitely recommend the Airalo Latin America package to anyone travelling in that area.

Below acceptable customer service. The esim didn't work they took forever to respond so I went with another option They gave some additional info after an hour Unhelpful and very unwilling to accept accountability I would avoid at all costs.

Not user friendly. While the app itself might function as described, it assumes that its customers are all about tech savvy. There are way too many steps to troubleshoot just to use this sim. There are other options for the average person to consider.

Airalo. The esim was a godsend for affordability. It is working really well. Make sure all your contacts are using a data based message system like Signal or WhatsApp and you easily stay in touch. Many tourist businesses can be reached using one of these apps. If you are a Canadian used to paying ridiculous roaming rates Airalo is incredibly cheap in comparison.

Très satisfaite. Facile a utiliser, simple pas cher et convivial.

Seamless/5 stars so far. I just got the global plan and am currently in Mexico. It’s working like a charm. No fussing with SIM cards, no need to go to any storefront when travelling. Just turn off your cellular plan used at home ( if you have one) and turn on the Esim and that’s it.

Good eSim for traveling overseas. We had a good experience using Airalo eSims when we travel to Spain and Portugal. We had fast 5G data speeds in those country. The connection is always on and good coverage on the capital cities and when we were in remote area (traveling by train). While in London UK, the data speed is slower because we can only get 3G connections, however we can manage to get connection in most of the time. Another thing is that Airalo only give you “data” internet connection. There is no option to get a local phone number. I wish they have one, it can be handy for local service Apps. Installation is easy and straightforward. We bought eSims, one for me and another one for my spouse. We will certainly using it again when we travel overseas. Currently the eSims stays in my phone. I am not sure how long can I keep this eSims. Thank you for the great service, we don’t have to pay excessive roaming charge overseas anymore.

Will definitely use again!. Used the esim when vacationing in Portugal from Canada. Installation was very easy and straightforward and it worked flawlessly for my entire vacation. Cost was very reasonable and service was great. This will definitely be my go to esim when travelling anywhere!

Customer Service and Instructions are useless. I’ve been sitting in an Internet cafe over Sears while my party has left without me. I’ve been here for 7 hours trying to get my issue resolved. The esim will not connect to the data I purchased and customer support has been absolutely garbage with returning messages. They have officially ruined the first leg of my vacation. Screw them!

Great interface, experience and price. Used in Portugal for 3 months and in Poland for 10 days. Great speeds (depends on the carriers coverage and infrastructure) which can range from 5 to 500mb/s download. Only complaint I have is that the installation process is a little overwhelming with all the steps but after I did it once it’s pretty easy to install again. Was also struggling to enable iMessage but managed to get it working.

Avoid if you want to pay absurd fees with your cellular company. Sickened by daily roaming charges of up to $15/day by my Canadian mobile company, I researched ways to bring the price down and came upon eSIM technology and Airalo. I figured, what the hell, let's give it a try for a trip to the US. A bit of a learning curve to get it up and running, but it worked flawlessly and I was sold. Went to Europe and used it there, again with no issues and at a fraction of the price. They monitor your usage and send you an email so you won't run out of data, and both the original and the top-up fees are beyond reasonable and the connectivity is great. The only deficit is the lack of a phone number, so I took off one star, but with all the apps available for phone calls, it's a small inconvenience. Still, I'd like to have the option. But there's no question that this is how roaming should be done: conventient, cheap, and plentiful. I'll be using Airalo again and again.

Don’t bother unless you are some sort of pro!. Extremely annoying. Paid out and can’t use simply because I don’t have the techno smarts to understand how to change various “secret” numbers so that the platform I’ve paid for can access my emails and messages. I’m on the Argentina/Chile border and have nothing. Useless.

Easy eSIM Option!. Perfect way to add international data to an iPhone XS or newer - fantastic!!!

Great app. Overall great experience, used ir in Chile, Italy, Greece, Peru and the US with no problem.

Fantastic!. Very useful app to have when travelling. Peace of mind at a very reasonable price!

Easy, Fast & Great Value. Just back from a 3 week adventure in the Caribbean. I had read about the app and was keen to try to see if it lived up to the reviews. So pleased with this, I installed on my cell, my wifes and my mother-in-law (shes 74 and was able to use it no problem). Follow the detailed instructions for setting up the e-sim and off you go. We had planned to buy a SIM card in one of the 3 islands we visited but we were able to use Airalo so efficiently, no need to track down a physical SIM card. Love it and can't recommend it enough. Love how the app told you how much data you have remaing. Very clever.

Lost cell service half way through my package. Turned my airplane mode on and off and my phone said it had bars but couldn’t connect to 3G, 4g or 5g. Going to try deleting my eSim and buying another package so I can hopefully have internet in a foreign country 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Saved so much $$$. I’m so happy I found this app. I landed in Canada and almost bought a SIM card at the airport. It would have cost me 5x more had I done so. The app is easy to use and I even topped off the data once without any surprises or hidden fees. I will definitely continue to use Airalo whenever I travel!!

Unable to set up. No refund. Messed up my phone.. The instructions to set it up are quite convoluted and require you to retrace your steps and mess around. I was unable to set it up due to the instructions not even matching the options that were visible on my phone. It’s the newest Os as well. I had to get another physical sim, lost my 11$ USD or whatnot, and they expect me to spend an hour or two trying to set it up now that I’m in different circumstances. Furthermore, the process has buggered up my settings in my phone such that there isn’t even a roaming toggle available to switch anymore. Not much better than a virus that I payed money to get. Garbage. They want to vacuum your money while buggering up your phone. Avoid avoid.

Do not use Airalo in Australia!. I purchased an Airalo rain for my trip to Australia. It worked initially, then stopped working and put into SOS mode. I was left at the other side of the planet from home unable to find directions to places I needed, and unable to make any contact with locals, or to AirAlo. Part of the problem was the Optus network was down for 12 hours. But then I was still unable to get any service for more than a few seconds, leaving this service useless. I was basically left stranded in the middle of a rural town halfway across the planet. I ended up having to get a Telstra SIM to use and I have no lost service yet, even on very rural roads and the Western Australia Highway. I will NEVER use AirAlo again. I will also be steering all my friends away for their upcoming trips. TLDR: Do not use AirAlo in Australia! Wait until you land and there is a Telstra in all the airports. You will get better service, faster speeds, and more data for basically the same price and won’t leave you stranded in a foreign country.

Quick and Easy. Honestly such a quick and easy app to setup and use for esims! Pricing is fair and it’s saved me from having to roam. I prefer this way more than having to buy a SIM card and swap it out manually, never again. Keep up the great work! I hope to keep using this as I travel

Good data plan worked in Turkey. Easy setup. Worked when travel in Turkey. Smooth video call with granddaughter in Canada.

Airalo simply amazing. Loved the overall data service while we travel in the US. Airalo is very easy to setup and love the fact its using LTE for data connectivity.. Highly recommended

Total fail. It must be me because I could not get this thing to work and there was no way Airolo was giving me a refund because it contended their end was not the problem. In my defence, I found the instructions difficult to follow if the install didn't go smoothly and the help function is all by email unless you have luck and can access their chat - which when I tried had a response time of "under two hours." I find, when you're on vacation in a foreign country, waiting anywhere around two hours for help isn't a high value offer. Otherwise they wanted five screen shots and other requirements that chewed up a lot of time. I had read great things about this app and service so can only conclude it's great if it works, but if my experience is any indication it's a lot of work if it doesn't. I think it does work, based on the reviews, but it didn't for and support was a complete let down.

This is the future. No more big 3 and over paying data charges Basic phone plan + Airalo esim for data. Also btw super friendly customer service. Can’t wait to see you guys grow bigger!

Works in Mexico. Very easy to setup and much more cost effective than standard roaming charges! We used Airalo while traveling in Mexico and worked like a breeze. Will use this for future travel needs from now on!

It is convenient. After I got the email from the support team. I followed the step and check out the problem I have. I connected to the network already. It is very convenient to use it. Thanks.

Cheapest way to travel with your phone. I bought an eSIM for a recent trip to Mexico and was pleased with the experience. It cost me $6 for a week, while my home carrier charged $12 per day! Buying the plan for Airalo was easy, just follow the instructions to install it and make sure you set the APN correctly (if needed). This is the hardest part, but it takes less than a minute. I bought my plan a week before travelling, and it activated just fine when I switched my phone on at destination. I’m never travelling again without an eSIM!

It works !. We travel the world a lot and always looking at local SIM card , mainly for data’s. It has been an usual routine to cross a border and , as a first aim, trying to figure the cheap and best way to be connected. Not an easy task in some countries. Until we heard from a fellow traveler about this app. Skeptical at first but now that we tried it in 2 different occasion, it was a quick job done at a pretty decent rate compare with local providers/retails. The process could maybe be a little more intuitive but it definitely works at good rates. We have not try it yet in undeveloped countries yet by will definitely soon. Recommended

Works well in Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Update 2022: We ride bikes from place to place on our holidays. Now using them in Greece for five weeks. They have greatly improved their app and it worked seamlessly. I highly recommend this app to everyone, even strangers that I meet while out traveling. Stop paying crazy roaming fees and hunting for Wi-Fi. Download this app and get your e-sim. 2021 review: There are some improvements they can make, like not requiring a network to use the app. When you first go into a new country it would be nice to see the country-network provider list so you can switch over. Currently need to find WiFi or guess. Still, a great app and I’ve already got four other people to use it. Makes touring by bike a breeze.

Good eSIM offers, slow support times. I’ve used Airalo in Paris, London and Bucharest and found their eSIMs reliable and reasonably priced. They’ve been straightforward to install and the data speeds are good. Never really had a problem—until recently when there was a minor glitch when acquiring and installing a new eSIM in Paris. I immediately submitted a support ticket, assuming that their well-marketed “24 hour support” would yield a quick reply. Unfortunately not, as I didn’t get a response for FIVE DAYS. Thankfully I had been able to resolve the problem myself quickly by consulting their documentation (eSIMS are relatively simple, and Airalo’s documentation is pretty decent), but it was not encouraging to experience such a delay. I worry that if I use Airalo in the future that I might find myself in a real pinch and be effectively stranded without timely support. Other eSIM providers might be similarly problematic, but it’s worth being aware of this aspect of Airalo.

Best option in Iceland. Traveling in Iceland, my wife and I tried three different connectivity options 1. Airalo Nenna eSim, 2. Local network SIM card, and 3. Roaming Day Pass with US carrier. Airalo eSim was the simplest and most reliable of the three. The local SIM showed up at our hotel via mail on day 3 of our visit vs day 1 as planned and ran out of load by day 4. The roaming day pass at an extra $10 a day was a bust after exceeding the 512mB of bandwidth threshold per day causing my wife great frustration posting photos to her social media by each afternoon. I used my phone with Airalo eSim to navigate around Iceland and to stream music and to post the whole trip without interruption from landing to return takeoff. I am hoping the experience is same when we head to Aruba this month. Easy to install and use.

Worked very well. Extremely pleased. Had a good experience buying 2 esims for a visit to Canada for my wife and I. Had great coverage while we were there and zero issues once installed and activated. The service switched between telus , rogers, and Bell easily based on the strongest signal. We were in the Canadian Rockies where cell coverage can be an issue but it worked fine where there was any sort of signal. We waited until we arrived at our hotel to activate on their WiFi, which went very well. After it was set up it was totally transparent to us that we were using the esim. I recommend watching some of the online videos on how to install and activate the esim before you leave on your trip. I feel confident now in using these in the future for international travel. I dont work for Airalo 😀

Easy as they say!. I found the installation quite simple onto my iPhone 12 Pro with the latest iOS, as of April 2023, (using the Direct, default procedure), and it seems like it’ll be easy to “turn on” when I arrive in Netherlands this summer. I like the data pack options and everything seems pretty accurately described; I was a little hesitant to load the app because in watching some online videos + Airalo’s videos there were options under the Cellular -> Data screens that didn’t appear on my phone but this was before installing the data pack - after I installed the eSIM for my data pack my phone’s screens reassuringly matched what I had seen in the videos (!) I’m not that technically inclined, but am looking forward to using the app in the future! It really is an easy thing to do - and better data prices at home and abroad than my domestic cell carrier!

Good but still need to make improvements. I bought esim cards for both Jordan and Turkey. Upon landing in Jordan I couldn’t get my esim to connect so I bought a physical SIM card while still at the airport. I contacted support in the hopes that they could help me with the Turkey esim before I landed. They were able to give me clear instructions and I was able to use the product in Turkey, which I'm very happy with. But the information they provided is NO WHERE on their website, I wouldn’t have been able to connect without emailing customer support and this makes no sense. They just need to have clear instructions with the exact APN settings that you need in each country. If this information was readily available, everyone would have a much easier time with the product. I don’t understand their reasoning in keeping this a secret. If they provide better clarity and transparency in how to use their product, this would be a 5 star service.

Amazing App - Save Money Using Your Phone While Traveling. We just traveled out of the country for a month. We needed a way to use our phone, I downloaded Airalo on my phone as suggested my friend who travels outside the country often and he said he was very happy with it. I paid $20 for 30 days and 5 GB, it has been 18 days so far and I still have over 4 GB of days left. My husband unfortunately was not able to install an eSIM on his phone (he has an iPhone X and it’s not supported), he has so far spent over $70 charged by our phone carrier and he ended up buying a IIM card for $10). My sister also could not use Airalo because her phone is locked (she hasn’t finished paying for her phone), so she also paid about $60 to her phone carrier for calls and data. I am extremely happy with the Airalo app and will use it every time we’ll travel outside the country.

Great app, fantastic capability. Don’t be afraid to try an eSim. This is the way to go on international travel. You can turn it on as soon as you land to let it activate and start sending data. My wife and I both used Airalo on a trip to India last November. It worked so well I bought a new one for business travel to France in February and will use it again for another trip in April. Easy to top off if you use all your data. Which I did in India, uploading too many pictures. But having data as soon as you land let’s you let others know that you’ve arrived, let’s you access the web for information you might need, use mapping applications with GPS. Without having to pay the $10/day or so that the cellular company charges for international access. It paid for itself in 3 days.

Did not work! Refund refused!. Not a good experience for me recently on my trip to Portugal. I signed up with Airalo and hit purchase. When nothing happened I tried it again the next day. It then went through twice charging me double. Airalo refused a refund on one of them. Then I never could get the one they said was active on my phone to work. Even though they said it was using data on my phone. We went back and forth with emails but it never worked. Finally had to call AT and T who is my service back in the states. They told me my SIM card had been ruined when I loaded the E sim so I had to remove it. Then I had to pay AT and T $10 a day for their international plan for the remainder of my trip (14 more days) as E sim still wouldn’t work. I run a small business so was missing important communication during the 4-5 days I fought with Airalo. I’ve contacted Airalo since returning home but they are not responding. All I’m asking is for my $34 back. I do not want a credit for a future E sim overseas.

A Solution That Works and is Affordable. We used Airalo’s eSIM on two iPhones for 5 weeks when in France. A great solution that saved us literally hundreds of dollars. My cell provider’s international daily plan cost would have totaled almost $800. The eSIM coupled with calls forwarded to Google Voice ended up costing about $75 for both phones. And it works great. Install and topping up was easy and convenient. I could do all of the setup in the US and then it activated when we landed. (I turned off my main providers SIM on the iPhone) The eSim kept us connected with data throughout our trip for maps, podcasts on long car trips, tethering, etc… A couple of times it was necessary to toggle Airplane Mode to reset things, but I’m not sure if that was even related to the app. Also, their support via email has always been responsive. I’d use this solution again without hesitation for any long term travel.

Easy to purchase/installation. From an iPhone user: Download the app to your iPhone. Easy to puchase-select your country or region, select the Data size/validity, make the purchase. The eSim goes to the AirAlo app under My eSIMs. You can see it also under Setting >Cellurar. >Airalo. **When you land at your location**, Make sure all your other SIMS are off and get a wifi signal. Install eSim...it'll ask you questions then make sure you Data Roaming is on. Take a few seconds and you're connected. It's easy and intuitive. When you have wfi, turn off Airalo and stick to the local wifi. Check the App to see how much Data is remaning. Airlo is easy and I will be using it for future overseas trips! By the if you use VPN, Airlo works fine with it. I have VPN installed in my iPhone.

Look elsewhere!. I used Airalo for the first time on a recent overseas trip. I purchased the eSIM prior to my trip and installed it. All that went pretty smooth. Upon arrival it even worked! But I had sooo many issues throughout the two weeks I was using it. The SIM quit working at least three times and was down for about a day each time. I had to contact support, go through the same canned support questions before they escalated it to “Tier 2”. Then after several more hours it would start working again and I would receive an email to the tune of “We’re sorry, we experienced problems with our provider.” No real explanation. Bottom line is I found I could have bought 4 times as much data for the same price or if I bought the same 10 gigs it would have been 1/3 the price by simply buying an eSIM once I arrived in country. It’s a good concept but the unreliable service and the delays to fix issues was unacceptable.

Airalo - Data for Portugal. My wife and I bought eSIMs from airalo for cellular data when we recently toured Portugal. Prices were good - better than renting a WiFi hotspot. We both have iPhone 12’s - very easy to install the eSIM. When arriving there (from US) it took a few minutes of changing settings to enable data on the eSIM and ensure that data roaming was turned off for our regular carrier (Xfinity Mobile) - airalo could help by documenting this process better (admittedly challenging given so many different phones and o/s versions). We were glad to find that we could still use WiFi Calling for our regular cellular carrier - but over the airalo data service instead of international data roaming ($$). Good experience overall - will look for their offerings whenever we travel in the future!

Consumer beware. I hate writing negative reviews about anything but this app concerns me. I installed it with the hope of being able to use my phone while abroad but quickly ran into issues. First off, it’s not user friendly whatsoever. There are a lot of things to toggle on/off… switch this, don’t switch that etc… after following their instructions I still couldn’t make outgoing calls properly. A lot of little bugs started popping up. I couldn’t use the internet while the phone was on… couldn’t text properly etc… for a lack of better words, it was a mess. The most alarming thing was that my contacts started to disappear and names were going missing. And a completely random and concerning issue was that my phone started to think it was in Russia… tik tok started showing me all Russian pages and at that point, enough was simply enough. Sorry for the negative review but hope this helps someone or the developers. I was genuinely excited to have a solution to using my phone while abroad.

Won’t ever use another standard SIM again!. The eSim from Airalo was so easy to use, and has a wide variety of locations covered! I’ve purchased the European eSIM as well as the local Morocco, and Egypt ones. The regional eSIM for Europe worked wonderfully transiting through even the countrysides of Northern Europe, and perfectly on the islands of Greece. The Egypt local eSIM worked in some of the most remote places. You do need wifi to enable the eSIM, which most airports have. The instructions for installation are clear and it makes traveling a breeze! Also, it’s very easy to add more data to your coverage, and switch back and forth between plans. I really enjoyed that my eSIM allowed me to still have my United States number active, making it easier to stay connected to work, friends and family at home.

Product is very reliable!. My wife purchased a Global eSIM with talk, text and data for 7 days the day before we left the U.S. to hold us on the beginning of our trip in Italy until we could get to a local cellular company to get a pre-paid SIM installed. Well, after the first couple days we realized that going that route was not necessary. Her service has been extremely reliable and we purchased an eSIM for my phone for 30 days of data while in the hotel at the airport upon arrival. All I can say is if you follow their clear instructions for downloading the eSIM (we did it through wifi) it works flawlessly. Additionally, their customer support are available and very helpful with any questions you may have. We will always continue to use Airalo for our cellular needs while traveling abroad in the future. Make sure you have an unlocked eSIM capable phone.

The app that is truly needed. This app is great! I travel a lot for pleasure and it really makes a difference. Back in the days, I would have to go out my way to the country that I visit and go find a place where they sell SIM card for that country. Most of the time, the lines are long or the price isn’t worth it. This app is very convenient because all I have to do is download the app, register my profile, search up the country I am currently visiting and purchase the amount of data I plan on using within the time of stay. They have multiple options to choose from. Prices can vary depending on how much data/country. I used Airalo for the Philippines and for Indonesia. It worked great in both countries. If you are traveling in a group and multiple people plan on using this app, you can refer to each other and can get a discounted rate. The data expires up to 30 days from activation. Activating the app for the data is pretty simple. They have written instructions as well as diagrams and videos to show you. Please note that you do only have one chance to activate the app, so read carefully and follow the instructions provided. I will be continuing to use this app for my next adventure!

No issues. Tried UK esim on iPhone and pixel with no issues over the last couple weeks. Got LTE on both. Streamed music and videos with no hiccups. On my way to UAE so will test but I’m not seeing the benefit where everywhere has Wi-Fi but it’s not really cost effective for those times you’re not connected to Wi-Fi. We will see but it’s been fairly easy to set up and get going quickly. I’d suggest setting up prior to travel so all you have to do it turn on when you land in the country you’re expecting to roam in. Safe travels. Update on 20/12 Roaming in the UAE on 4G as I’m typing this via an iPhone. No issues other than a bit of lag but that’s basically being connected to Hong Kong apparently. So latency is in the upper 400’s for me. Usable though but plan ahead if you are doing something that requires a little instant response time and updates.

Delivers on its promise... At an incredibly reasonable price. My use case: I live in the middle of nowhere. And verizon USED to have decent coverage. But with the purchase of the iPhone 12 mini, the 5g chip blocked Verizon's old 3g network... so now I have dead spots all over the place. The Airalo (AT&T/T-Mobile) data lets the phone switch to AT&T/T-Mobile's data, which seems to be stronger where Verizon's is weaker. This app and its service completely fills this void. The overall experience has been great. The rates are extremely reasonable, the data plan allows me to purchase a bucket that's plenty for my needs, and the eSim fills a void - namely with Verizon - that allows me to work remotely and in a mobile environment where I otherwise would not be able to. PS. If you ever should need help, customer service is awesome. Responsive, helpful, friendly.

Local eSIM plan for travel works and competitive price. I purchased a 2GB/15 days local plan for Turkey. The activation process took place after landing at IST airport. Once I turned on Airalo eSIM data, I was online in less than 5 minutes. The activation process was straightforward - no hiccups. There was no SIM swap involved. The coverage in Turkey was satisfactory as I traveled around the country. The pricing on local plan is very competitive. Next time, I will check out regional plan and see how coverage goes in other countries. eSIM capability provides the user to activate a data plan on the GO. You can switch carriers if the reception is not good or runs out of data in the middle. I did not use Airalo top-up option when I ran out data in Turkey. I simply switched to another data plan that is still active. Airalo provides a great option and very competitive pricing.

Solid performance. I went to South East Asia for a month and at the suggestion of a friend I picked this up. Installation was easy and effortless on my iPhone SE 2nd generation. From the moment I landed in Tokyo, the data seamlessly picked up. I travelled to Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Langkawi. I was never without data when I needed it anywhere I travelled that didn’t have Wi-Fi. Granted in some spots it was understandably slower, I was still never without. I wasn’t able to text or call via SMS, but any communication via apps like WhatsApp or any iPhone to iPhone went off without a hitch. Price was definitely worth it. I initially got a 10 gig package and then topped it with 3 more and that was more than enough for the month long trip which included a 6 day stretch with no access to Wi-Fi. It’s a wonderful option to have and I will definitely use again on my next overseas holiday.

Beyond Happy. My international travel started about 10 years ago when you still had to buy expensive, local plans that required physical cards. I’ve now used Airalo on multiple trips, including 2 concurrent ones between Europe and Morocco. It’s as legitimate as it gets - you use the highest rated networks in each country and there were many times I would prefer tethering to my Airalo internet for faster speeds over even using my local wifi. This is without a doubt in the top 5 most useful apps I’ve ever owned. If you travel internationally - just try it for yourself. Not to mention, their customer service is second to none. It’s personal and extremely fast. And it call be handled through the app so you aren’t making calls. Outstanding app all around. Thank you!

Airalo esim was an excellent product for my travels.. I didn’t want to deal with swapping out SIM cards and I was ok with not having voice communication and non iMessage SMS (texting). I was pleasantly surprised to be able to use iMessage, I didn’t expect that! 90+% of the folks I text with regularly have iPhones. For about two weeks in Morocco I used the esim with Maroc Telecom. I did face two issues. On a long drive from Merzouga to Fes I was unable to consistently used Airalo. Looking at a coverage map of the country this was no surprise as I was passing through some remote regions. In another case I found that switching between hotel Wi-Fi and esim was not seamless. I typically had to restart my phone. The last couple of places I used Wi-Fi this was not an issue. Response emails from the Airalo team were timely and appreciated.

Fantastic resource; great service.. I’m pretty new to the whole eSim thing but Airalo got me hooked with this tech of the future. I was able to install the eSim from the comfort of my house without having to go to a physical store to get a physical sim, which was great. While the installation instructions were easy to follow, I was a but confused about when to activate the eSim: I erroneously thought it need to be done before traveling;. Failing at this task I frantically contacted Airalo’s help desk who explained the problem; they also followed up after a few days to make sure I got sorted, which was an awesome touch. I also had no connectivity problems during my travels; no data throttling or anything like that.. I subsequently came close to running out of data, and too-up was as easy as can be. Yo sum, I’m a fan, and am about to get a mew package for the next country I’ll be visiting next week.

Perfect travel companion!. We’ve used airalo twice now; once for a trip to Italy, and again for a trip to Portugal and Spain. It worked flawlessly, and is the most economical way to get data abroad that we’ve found. We installed the app and purchased the eSims ahead of our trips, but waited to activate it until arriving in the country. I cannot tell you how great it is to be fully connected immediately upon landing- enabled us to use Uber right away to leave the airport, use Google maps, email, etc. We didn’t have regular phone call access (turned off our primary phone number), but used Signal, messenger, WhatsApp, and Skype for making calls. One of our kids with an older phone couldn’t use airalo, so had to stand in line for 30 minutes at the Lisbon airport (Vodafone) to purchase a SIM card for her phone. For us, we’ll keep using Airalo whenever we travel!

Much easier than expected. Many have reviewed that this is easier than having to change out a physical SIM card and keep track of your existing one for your return to your home country. It truly is, but to expand upon that, the process is seamless- as long as you have a data connection, it’s as simple as picking your plan and turning on the new eSim. One thing to bear in mind is you will need a data connection however. In order to activate the new eSim, it will need to connect to the network. I was worried that the process would have been more difficult, but it was quite the opposite and what could have been a stressful experience when traveling abroad was made easier yet by this new standard as well as an app that streamlined the process.

This is awesome. I didn’t realize eSims were that awesome until I had to travel abroad for work. This is a real game changer. I didn’t want to pay crazy money to keep using 4G while abroad, so I looked into getting a local data plan, which is a thing I already did when going on vacation, but usually involves finding a local store that sells pre paid plans, preferably not at the airport because those are often overpriced. Airalo is so convenient. You can buy an eSim data plan even before boarding the plane, or you can do that from the airport once you’ve arrived, as long as there’s free wifi. What I personally like to do is buy it before leaving, and follow the simple instructions to add the eSim to my phone. This way I keep my everyday SIM card in it, and it just magically starts to work once I’m abroad. This is so seemless (pun intended), I love it!

E-sim by Airalo is a perfect solution. Five years ago I went to Germany for several months, And getting my phone set up with a data plan there was incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. I just made the same trip again, and this time bought an e-sim from Airalo. SO EASY!! I had never used an e-sim before but I read up on them: reviews were great and there were many packages to choose for my specific trip length and data needs. I bought it online, typed the number into my phone, and have been using it every day since then, no problem. I love that I can turn the e-sim cell service “on” while leaving my built-in Xfinity mobile sim “off” and not worry about getting charged for Cfinity data. Game-changing technology!

Great for travel!. I’ve used Airalo abroad when I have traveled from USA to Australia and to Chile. It is extremely convenient and it has a simple process in order to purchase a data plan in the country I am traveling in. I am able to connect to home or coworkers without having to locate and activate a physical SIM card when I land in a different country. I am also able to still receive phone calls and text messages at my normal number but use the Esim data plan to answer the calls and respond back to messages with my dual sim capable phone. (You just have to make sure to turn the data roaming off and prevent data switching in order to avoid any accidental international charges on your normal sim.) It is awesome and I would highly recommend Esims for travel!

Cost Savngs. Love, love, love this eSim app. Easy to install, just follow the instructions. Keep it turned off until you arrive in Europe (be sure to keep your primary cellular phone number turned off so you are not charged from your carrier). We used it in Frankfurt when we had a layover and then in Greece. Worked perfectly. Saved us a ton of money from AT&T that charge $10/day for cellular data. No connectivity issues. We told everyone we would not be using text messaging but instead WhatsApp for communication. Perfect. As we came close to using all the data we purchased, we received a note allowing us to purchase additional data. Very helpful. In the week we were gone, we paid less then $13 for our two IPhone 13 mini’s. Thank you Airalo!

Very very easy, and it works!. Last time I went to Italy, I had a horrible experience with a physical SIM card from one of the Italian carriers. I’m going back this summer, and so I was very interested when I read about eSIMs as an alternative. Apple has a good discussion of eSIMs on their support website, so I felt comfortable that these things are legit. Still, I felt nervous about installing something like this on my phone, and wondered how hard it would be. But the advantage of eSIMs is that you can try it out before leaving home. So I installed the Airalo app, and saw that I could buy an eSIM for the USA, where I live, so I got 1 gig for 7 days to try it. The Airalo app is pretty simple, and made it very clear what I needed to do to install the eSIM. It was very fast and easy. There wasn’t much for me to do. The eSIM connected to the Verizon network right away, and after that it just worked. No problems at all. I now had a cellular service in my Settings called “travel”, for data, as well as my primary cell provider. I’ve been using “travel for about 5 days and there are no problems at all. I especially like that the app clearly shows how much of my 1 gig I’ve used. And if I want to top it off, my choices are right there in the app. I’ll definitely be buying an eSIM for Italy for my trip

eSIM for first week in country. Highly recommend this service especially for short term travel across several countries. Acquisition and setup was easy and it’s very impressive that they offer eSIMs that work across countries (I’m new to SIMs in general but I’ve never heard of a physical SIM that you can buy in country that’s capable of doing that). The service has been reliable (I’m in a major capital - they utilize well-known networks in my country). The big pro is you miss all the hassle with a physical SIM where there may also be language barriers and get it immediately. I can’t speak for other countries but at least in the one I will be spending the next 3 months, it appears (on a cursory search) that the physical SIM route is a better value. Worth considering for potentially longer term travel/stays in your country. Airalo has been a great and easy introduction to SIMs for me in general!

Super useful. I travel a lot and have been swapping physical SIMs, often with a 2nd phone, over the years. Airalo is way, way, easier. No looking for a kiosk/vender, waiting and showing a passport, struggling to top up with scratch cards or other goofy things, all to be inundated with promo texts from local carriers. All you really need is data, right ? Installing an Airalo eSIM is soooo much easier (and dual eSIM on the iPhone 13 means my home SIM can remain eSIM). Also, I had an issue with one pack I bought for the wrong phone — the Airalo support folks helped straighten this out via chat directly in the app. Super recommended — I’ve been telling my other traveling friends lagging behind with old non-eSIM phones now is the time to upgrade, in large part, to use these Airalo eSIM data things.

Great for 5 weeks in Europe!. I just recently used an Airalo esim for my five week trip to Europe. I was a little confused at first about how to actually use the esim, since I was not familiar at all with the technology, but it was fairly straightforward after doing some reading online and looking at Airalo’s instructions online. The esim worked really well and allowed me to have data connection in all of the five countries that I visited(only noting that sometimes I had to manually select the network in a city because the network that I was automatically connected to did not work). Using the esim was definitely much easier than purchasing and installing a local SIM card. I was able to top up my data at the end of the month without any problems. Overall, I had a great experience with Airalo and definitely would use it again!!!

Works like a charm. I’m lucky enough to get to travel often for both business and pleasure. Having functioning mobile data is critically important to me. I was very nervous when I got an iPhone 14 Pro which no longer has a SIM tray. I can say that using Airalo eSIM works wildly better than purchasing pay-as-you-go hardware SIMs. I particularly appreciate the effort taken to create a smooth user experience for what would otherwise be a tricky process. Before leaving for a trip to Turkey, Greece, Spain, England and France, I was able to verify that my newly installed Airalo eSIM was working by turning off my US eSIM and using all the apps on my phone as usual, Using my phone as a hotspot for my laptop was flawless. $35 for a month of travel vs. $10 / day for roaming? It’s a no-brainer: use Airalo. Knowing you have affordable

iMessages do not work with data-only eSim. iMessage users beware— I bought a UK Airalo data-only eSim under the impression that data-only messaging with iMessage would be functional. However, this was not the case, despite documentation and support saying it should work. This was frustrating as according to the description of the eSim, I couldn’t see why iMessage wouldn’t work via email but the activation continuously failed. The data itself works fine but knowing iMessage doesn’t work would have been a deal-breaker for me. (Apple Support confirmed that a phone number capable of receiving SMS and phone calls is required to activate iMessage which explains why this won’t work on data-only.) I understand why Airalo couldn’t provide a refund as technically the eSim is providing data as promised, and the data itself works fine. Documentation and FAQ should be updated to say that iMessage will not work on data-only eSims.

Works perfectly on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I got this for a trip to the Netherlands and it works perfectly. I was able to set it up in the USA before leaving the country. It did not initially work because I didn’t have data roaming selected. Once I changed that setting, it has worked perfectly. I paid $6 for my whole trip as opposed to $10 per day with my carrier. I still get text messages to my USA phone number and my internet works perfectly. I will be using this going forward on future trips. It’s also nice because I can use my hotel’s Wi-Fi, which limits the amount of data I need. However, I would use a higher amount of data if Wi-Fi wasn’t available. The cost is very reasonable and I highly recommend using this service.

Amazing. Once the app was installed, it took a little bit to figure out the process of adding the country-specific SIM card prior to arrival in the SIM card valid country (the instructions are a little confusing). But once I got the hang of it, the process was seamless and affordable. I was able to add new countries as I traveled and I had great feedback about how much time/data was left so I could easily top off when needed. The connectivity was great from the minute I set foot in each new location -I didn’t have to spend hours searching for a local SIM card every time I was in a new country and then try to physically install it! And it was so helpful to have such a reliable SIM (esp when we had a bit of an emergency on our trip). Airalo has improved my travel 100%.

Seamless, met our needs perfectly. I’ve used an eSIM from this company three times now and every time was perfect. Very detailed instructions made it so easy and we had great coverage. We were on a cruise on the Rhine river and had wifi on the ship but every time we got off the ship, we would’ve had nothing if we hadn’t purchased and installed this plan first. I bought data only plans so we didn’t have phone but with WhatsApp you can easily make calls, so we really didn’t miss it. I like the fact that it keeps a running total of how much data you’ve used and although I didn’t need it, it appears very easy to top off if you find you need more. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this again. Sure beats the old days of having to have a sim shipped and then physically installed. I highly recommend this product.

Great product. I have now used Airalo on three occasions one download was for Italy two others were for all Europe. Invest 20 minutes in familiarizing yourself with the set up and move easily from country to country as you travel. I had only one occasion where the product didn't perform correctly. I arrived somewhere and could not establish a local connection. If you simply return in settings to Airalo network selection and disable automatic, you were then able to try one of the local options offered. Doing this I got instant service. apparently the app was confused by the several options offered. In any event with this 10 second adjustment I was back in business. You get a lot of service for not very much money.

Perfect Solution for Travel. I upgraded my ancient phone for a trip abroad and discovered its eSIM capability. I didn’t want to pay the high rates of my provider’s international plan nor buy a disposable when I landed, so I googled, saw the Airalo blog, and decided to experiment. The eSIM connectivity was a life-saver, and with WhatsApp one can even make voice calls. It took about five minutes to get the settings adjusted for the eSIM to work, but the instructions were clear and helpful. Only two things keep this from 5 stars: when I contacted customer service with a question I never got a response and the eSIM I bought could not be topped up when it expired two days before the end of my trip. No problem—I bought and installed a different eSIM—but there should have been an indication of this issue before I bought the eSIM. Despite this, I’m recommending Airalo to all my friend.

Horrible customer service. I bought an eSim card from this app. I followed the instructions and did whatever the app said to do. Instructions were clear and not that complicated. However, it did not work! I was stuck without data coverage and I ended up paying roaming charges. The app does not have a customer service line, you can only reach them through chat services, and it’s not LIVE! So while on vacation, you have to spend hrs out of your day to go back and forth with their agent in the chat, and if you are out and about, and don’t have service, the app doesn’t work! So you miss the messages they send you. That’s when they send a message saying “ sorry we waited for your response, we will end this chat now” it was so frustrating dealing with them. AVOID! Totally not worth the hassle. Either get an actual SIM card or buy from an app that offer a live customer care. They finally refunded me after I continuously asked them for a refund ONE WHOLE DAY! I’m just glad I deleted the app and will never use them again!!!!!! Phew

For this trip, perfect. This was my first experience using a e-sim, so I was on edge about making mistakes and even perhaps unknowingly running up extra charges on my regular carrier. To be honest, I struggled a bit with the website on my tiny phone, but Airalo’s app not only solved those issues but also explained the process, explained settings on my iPhone, and installed the e-sim. For Borneo, the connectivity and speeds were great, so I often used the e-sim over hotel work services. I recommended Airalo to the tech adverse guide from Japan who was along on the trip. Two days later, he was profusely thanking me. Even he had zero issues and was thankful to be saving so much money by not using the service from his Japanese carrier’s overseas plan. Kudos

Excellent for international travelers. I’ve recommended Airalo to all of my friends since the first I’d heard of it. I’d had a lot of different experiences with international SIM cards and different phone plans, including using a US domestic servicer’s international plan (which was incredibly expensive). Airalo is a data based plan where you can select the country or region you’re going to for different data packages at reasonable prices points. There are a few steps involved with the downloading of the e-SIM, but they make the directions and steps clear and easy to follow. I had no issues with the download or use myself, nor did any of my friends who’ve used it. I think it’s the best way to go if you’re traveling internationally for a short period of time.

A lifesaver during my trip to Italy. I have an unlocked iPhone SE and was planning to buy a SIM card in Italy - because I am staying for 4 weeks - but found Airalo and I’m so glad I did! I mainly needed to use Apple and Google Maps while looking for attractions, restaurants and other places of interest in Rome and Waze while driving in Sicily and would have been unable to do it with my Colombian plan which doesn’t work here when you enable roaming. It has worked well for the messaging apps I use and it has been a relief not having to rely on WiFi being available in the places I visit. I was also able to download apps on the spot when scanning their QR codes for parking in several towns and the downloads were always fast. I will use it during my future trips and can highly recommend it.

A Seamless Experience with Airalo's eSIM: Efficient and Reliable Connectivity in Portugal. I recently had the opportunity to try out Airalo's eSIM service during my stay in Portugal, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in terms of both reliability and speed. As a frequent traveler, I've tried various international SIM card options, but Airalo's eSIM stands out for its seamless connectivity experience. First and foremost, the setup process was incredibly easy and straightforward. I simply downloaded the Airalo app, selected the eSIM plan that suited my needs, and activated it within minutes. The convenience of not needing a physical SIM card was a game-changer, allowing me to stay connected without the hassle of swapping cards or dealing with long queues at local mobile stores. Once activated, the eSIM provided me with excellent coverage throughout my stay in Portugal. Whether I was exploring the vibrant streets of Lisbon, wandering through the charming alleys of Porto, or venturing into the picturesque countryside, Airalo's eSIM ensured I had a reliable and stable connection at all times. I never experienced any dropouts or frustrating moments of no signal. Another aspect that impressed me was the speed of the eSIM when I was browsing the web .

Sometimes glitchy, but great when it works. I’ve used Airolo local eSims for both Colombia and Guatemala. The Colombia one was great until I was in an area that didn’t have the carrier their eSim supported (Tigo) and then it became useless as I couldn’t use data anymore. The Guatemala one I had a ton of trouble getting to work after installing, so much so that I wasn’t able to get it to connect for the first three days I was in the country. I eventually got it connected by turning off automatic network selection and manually selecting the alternative network (although there were two supported networks, only one would work). Since I didn’t that I have had no trouble with the Guatemalan eSim. Overall, when it works it’s excellent, but when it doesn’t, well just hope you have Wi-Fi access to troubleshoot…

Game-Changing. Having traveled for the past 20 years, it’s been incredible to see how much technology has progressed to make the experience ever more enjoyable. I’m so thrilled to have found Airalo to purchase an eSIM cellular data plan to use while I travel abroad. I hadn’t heard of them before, so I was hesitant to try them out. However, the reviews seemed good and the prices were attractive. Instead of paying high prices for international data passes from your home carrier, it’s much cheaper and better to instead install an eSIM with a prepaid data plan that works at high-speed and allows you to choose how much data you want to have and for how long. Installation was straightforward and simple. Should you run out of data, it’s easy to top it off by purchasing another pass. My only suggestions that would make the App and experience better would be to have a troubleshooting guide. For instance, I had to turn off data roaming on my eSIM plan to actually be able to use it. It would have been nice to know that the carrier I was using wasn’t actually local or based in the countries I was visiting. Also, it would be great to be warned or notified when you’re close to running out of data as once you do, you can’t top it off or buy more unless you connect to wifi. Other than that, the experience was perfect!

A Modern Solution!. I recently moved to Germany for one year - long enough where it would be good to have data but short enough where signing up for a traditional phone plan wouldn’t make much sense…besides, most of my communication is via iMessage or other messenger platforms anyways. When I tried Airalo I was immediately hooked - not only do you get just what you need (data only, no number or anything!) you can set your phone up to use data from Airalo and have another SIM active for receiving phone calls and messages abroad if you need. The pricing is great and if you use it regularly you rack up points that go towards making your next package even cheaper. I also LOVE the fact that they have SIM cards that work across entire continents, so if you travel around in Europe you can just get the Europe-wide plan and it works everywhere, great for those long layovers or weekend trips in a new city. If your phone supports e-SIM, this is an absolute no-brainer. My only issue has been that initial connection sometimes takes a bit of time, but usually waiting about 5-10 minutes does the trick. I also struggle to keep up to date with my data usage and I wonder if there’s a notification that I can set up - I honestly haven’t looked though so it might be there!

Nearly Perfect solution. This app allows you to come to another country and instantly have internet connection. Airport wifi usually is not available outside of the building where you need internet for Uber, some airports (like Bangalore) require you to stay in line to kiosk to get a pass to wifi, etc. It saved my day when the border control wanted copies of all my hotel bookings, and that required me to connect to internet. Also, unlike in late 90s, you can no longer find piles of vending machines selling SIMs at the airports. Most countries require long wait in line for ID validation before buying one, so vendors are not selling at low cost. This app solves problems in an instant. I tried it even though i have an included “free global data at 2G speed” from US Tmobile which is very slow. This eSIM solved my problems in India, Israel, and some other countries. On the unfortunate side: it only supports data plans. If you need a local number, you still will have to later get a local SIM or eSIM. This is the case if you need to book train in India. Their booking only allows India sms enabled numbers. The process of installing eSIM is straightforward. If you have an US sold iPhone 14, you even CAN NOT use physical local SIMs. So this solution is a great option for a traveller.
