Stellarium Mobile - Star Map App Reviews
Stellarium Mobile - Star Map App Description & Overview
What is stellarium mobile - star map app? Stellarium Mobile is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.
Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky!
This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky.
Stellarium Mobile features:
• View an accurate night sky simulation of stars and planets for any date, time and location.
• Dive in a collection of many stars, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters and other deep sky objects.
• Zoom on realistic Milky Way and Deep Sky Objects images.
• Discover how people living in other regions of the planet see the stars by selecting the shapes and illustrations of the constellations for many sky cultures.
• Track artificial satellites, including the International Space Station.
• Simulate landscape and atmosphere with realistic sunrise, sunset and atmosphere refraction.
• Discover 3D rendering of the major solar system planets and their satellites.

Stellarium Mobile - Star Map Comments & Reviews 2026
Family Sharing Issue - Still Not Working. Update - I saw the response to my review below about a fix. Thanks for trying to fix it. I gave it several days and just tried again. The family sharing still does not work for one-time purchase. The app claims to allow for Family Sharing, but with the in-app purchase of Stellarium Plus rather than a separate app purchase like many other upgrade apps have, it doesn’t give you a way to access the upgrade through family sharing. I emailed the company to ask about it and got a link to the generic Apple “How to use Family Sharing” page that did not help at all.
Blown away. I can’t believe something so useful is free on the App Store without throwing in-app purchases in my face. Now I can show my daughter where the planets and constellations are in the sky and be sure I’m right about which one I’m pointing to. Good on whoever made this. Couldn’t ask for better.
Did not support SkyWatcher mount as promised. It says that this mobile version supports SkyWatch (SynScan) telescopes, but it does not. I spent several hours on this last night (and I’m and IT expert) and it does not connect to telescope via mobile, and it says this in the documentation, that it must connect via SynScan app in the background but IOS does not permit this, in short you cannot connect from this app to your scope. All the ports suggested do not work. I tried connecting to another ios device running synscan and the same device, and directly to the ip address of the scope. None of these work says promised.
Fantastic!. This app is one of the best ever produced! I am able to go forward and backward, and really delve into the night sky, accurately and quickly! I love it and I get on it every day I highly recommend it for both novice, and professional astronomers. Great work by developers! thank you!.
Totally freeee. This app is the best when I click on a star it tells you everything. I has learn so much it show satellites rockets and rockets body parts and tells you the name. There everything you can think of like star clusters and nebula. I has just started using the telescope and I learn much more than I would have before. I wonder what the upgraded version is?
Really helpful and informative!. Love this app, worth the upgrade price and then some. I am new to astronomy and frankly need all the help I can get. This app has helped me learn to identify the major constellations and planets. I am trying to learn to photograph the night sky (a challenge all of its own) and at least knowing what I’m looking at is a big help. Thank you for this really detailed tool.
AMAZING. I love this app so much I mean it shows real life of where you are and you can move your device and it like moves around like you’re actually looking at the stars. It looks like VR and it’s so cool like it shows the real planets that are out and it makes it look like you’re actually outside and you can show what like tonight‘s gonna look like even if it’s morning and it can show like more days like if you’re wondering what it’s gonna look like at night one day you can skip ahead to that day and you can look around at it and you can see all the stars are still gonna be out in the morning it’s really good👍🏼👌♥️
Excellent!. The standout feature for me is the relationship of scale of the stars. As a 2 year amateur astronomer, that feature gives me confidence that my telescope is pointing at the right object. I upgraded to the pro version and the visibility feature is really helpful in determining how long an object will be visible and when it will cross the meridian.
I love Stellarium. It’s the best app I can see where meteor showers are going to happen. I can see where my planets and I always use it to help me find Saturn Neptune, and very many more Jupiter and I really love how we can let us zoom in to see what it’s gonna look like at that time and I use it every day. When I use use SkyView it only showed me a few planets and some constellations but I like so better so that’s why I love this app.
My opinion(s) on Stellarium ! ❤️. Stellarium is so cool , it’s especially fun , it made me want to be an astronaut now and Stellarium is by far the best app ever to be honest but of course only in my opinion . Stellarium is a good app for children actually and it’s very satisfying especially to see what all planets , stars , and others look like close up ! It’s totally free and easy to install , I recommend Stellarium . #best app so far !
Amazing! And so accurate!. Amazing app! I downloaded it to help find the green comet that went by and despite not seeing it, I did see everything the map showed! 10/10 would recommend it tot anyone looking to find some constellations! Best app out there!!!
Cutting Edge for Students!. This will no doubt, become the 'GoTo' of aspiring Astronomy Students. The downloadable Desktop Version is lightning fast to acquire exactly what I am looking for, and the functions & settings are a breeze to use. Thank you for assembling a resource that caters to both novices and advanced users alike.
Wow. I am always fascinated With the night sky and so I really wanted to find an app that would help me appreciate what exactly I was looking at. OMG I actually started to giggle out loud as I explored the vast skyline with Stellarium! Never in my life did i expect to find something so easy to use and so informative as this app. I'm all set to really be able to lay down, look up, and spend hours playing like a child again. Thank you!!❤️
EXACTLY what I needed!. I have been a Stellarium user for quite a few years now, so I am familiar with the app’s features and user interface. What has really motivated me to write a review is Stellarium’s most recent update. I had been recently looking for a way to view my backyard obstructions in a planetarium software, and was well aware of the ability to import your own backyard panorama into Stellarium, but the problem that held me back was the fact that I image from several places in my backyard for different constellations. Long story short, Stellarium’s new AR feature has really upped my game to be able to view any deep sky objects path from any point in my backyard. This is much more versatile than creating and importing many panos into the software! Thank you! If I had one suggestion, if you could implement the ability to zoom in AR mode, that would be great! All in all, in my opinion, Stellarium is the best planetarium app/software to use for both Visual and Astrophotography!
Perfect for a serious user. I rarely write reviews, but I will for this app. In fact, I think this is my first. In this app I finally found the pocket star atlas I’ve been looking for. Not too heavy on eye candy, and instead full of features I need for observation sessions, well thought-out right at your fingertips. Coordinate grid, both equatorial and alt-az. Ability to zoom in and tweak the maximum displayed magnitude to match what’s in the eyepiece. A very nice daily summary of observable planets and satellites. Easy to pull up object coordinates. Activating the live view mode by tilting the phone app is ingenious. Six stars out of five.
Star-X. This app is the best and wherever you may be and in need of assistance to locate your zodiac sign, this program is for you. I love it and highly recommend the paid subscription based on more searches for what you want to star-gaze with?
Chiron Never Looked So Good. Wow. This is by far the best Astronomy tool I have used in a long time! The alternative apps I have used have not matched up compared to this one. It has very smooth graphics, it’s beautiful, and by far the best perk: you can move the phone to uncover what the sky looked like when you were born! I also purchased this Pro because 22 magnitude objects are included and I wanted to see Chiron (at about 16m) the standard only showing 10 magnitude.
Just doesn’t work. The main problem is that there is no way to tell it which direction you are looking. There doesn’t seem to be any way to calibrate the direction. Most of the time it was 180 degrees off horizontally, but not always, and vertical was anyone’s guess. If you actually know some significant landmarks in the sky and are looking to learn more, this is not the app. If you know nothing and want to feel like you know something, maybe this is what you need.
Favorite app for homeschooling and hobbies. This app is so easy to use, and at the same time so mindblowingly complex to wrap my mind around (but in the best way): I’ve had another astronomy app for years, but hardly knew about minor objects like asteroids, much less that they have names and all kinds of amazing facts: this is a whole new dimension of astronomy and we love it! It would be really amazing if you could enable the option to have more than one object labeled at a time!! And someday… in my wildest dreams, all the Latin, Japanese and other language names could have English translations searchable—or at least noted somewhere! Meanwhile, my kids and I are finding gems daily and learning so much!
Great app, but please add camera support!. Wonderful app for stargazing! I love the search function and just how detailed the starmap is, but there’s only one thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars: the lack of camera support! It would be awesome if instead of the basic horizon/atmosphere layers we could instead turn on the camera and see the star locations overlayed on top of it in real time. Would make it easier to tell what objects are visible or obscured and orient yourself properly!
Great app. This app is one of the best star maps, it is super accurate and when you point it at the night sky it’ll show you the exact star or planet you are looking at. It is super realistic and helpful. It is also free. I recommend if you want to learn more about space Because it also has events and information about different cultures constellations and their drawings. Great app! 10/10
Great app. This is the best of all apps of it’s kind, simple settings, nice views, very customizable, great landscaping, very informative. I just wish the labels of Neptune, Pluto and the asteroids to be visible without having to zoom in too much, so I can see their positions on the map. If I zoom in too much, this makes me miss some of them if they’re further away from the ecliptic line and I also lose the whole picture of the sky, so this just bothers me a bit. The label line in the settings is all the way up for the Solar System and yet, I can never spot these bodies without having to dive in deep enough. Plz make, at least our planets, visible at all zooming levels.
Needs some fixes. This is a very good star viewing app. I have enjoyed the short period of time I have been using it. I did notice however, and I find it fairly annoying, is that you can only see one constellations at a time. If you could fix this I would rate it 4 and a half because there are a few bugs. Sometimes I can’t move the stars with my trackpad or my arrow keys…. I can also lift up my iPad and look around and see the stars but some other times it will lag out and kick me out of the app. If it didn’t have these I would rate it 5 stars! Thank you for creating such an app for mobile devices. :D
Fantastic, exactly what I want.. This app is every stargazing tool I could want. It has extensive features even in the free version. I found the interface intuitive and spectacularly useful for identifying planets, constellations, and even individual stars. I learned a lot from the included descriptions of each constellation, but wish it was a little bit easier to read, maybe with just a couple headings separating mythology and interesting features and linking the Wikipedia entry instead of just loading a block of text. I also happen to love the fact the architecture is open source, and that they offer a lifetime price for the pro features. Good vibes all around!
Good app. Just a few improvements to make it amazing. Love having as much detail as possible shown. So much it can be overwhelming to start. Ability to use find features to help navigate with telescope is good. Fonts of planets are an issue during the day. Hard to see where they are. Also would be nice to have a summary of upcoming major events or best viewing days of certain objects. Otherwise a good app.
Review about Stellarum. This app is really realistic and the fact you can change the culture of the stars! My fav thing about this is that you can change the locations. Even tough antártica is just day at its southern point and Greenland at its northern point! Space people should download this app if the don’t have a computer!
Beautiful. This app simply blows me away, i always adored the night time sky, not only does this help me identify the constellations in the sky but the menus and everything are super user friendly, its not overpriced subscription and it genuinely seems the makers of this app wanted to make a friendly, good star gazing app. My first choice and ive shared this app with many others
Nice app but no AR camera view. This is a beautiful app but there is no option to view the stars and constellations through my phone’s camera using AR. I thought this was a feature when I was looking at the pictures but it’s not. The graphics shown come with the app itself rather than being filmed from a phone camera, so the scenery stays the same. There’s no AR used, just beautiful graphics within the app.
Great in Theory. The idea behind this app great. When put to use though, you need to know where to look for constellations and stars before using the app. Using it to locate Comet Neowise was next to impossible for a beginner. By the description I understood that by pointing the camera skyward the screen would show me where the Comet was in relationship to other well known items. I tried to see The Big Dipper which was just about directly overhead. I started the app and it said Porterville current view or something to those words. Could not locate the big dipper on my phone doing a search or just pointing the camera up. I followed all instructions and could not locate anything. $9.99 and it is nowhere near as easy as described. Very disappointed. Still guessing what I am looking at when I look at the night sky.
Great app!!!. I am very impressed with Stelarium. It shows the sky from any location and it is very accurate. You have the option to superimpose constellation diagrams to help identify them while looking at an up to date image of your sky. It really genius and I would recommend it for anyone interested in the sky above which is probably everyone.
Great tool for stargazing, but missing a good amount of objects. I’ll start by saying that this app really is great, it streamlines star gazing in a very intuitive app, and I was so pleased with it that I ended up buying the premium version (which is it a very affordable price, might I add) however, it has some notable flaws first off, although the premium version does have a pretty huge collection of stars and galaxies, I’ve noticed there are a good number of stars specifically that are just not present or are missing alternative labels There are no stars from the Frank Ross catalogue that have their Ross catalogue names assigned to them. For instance, the red dwarf Ross 128 does not appear in the search unless you go and search the alternative designations for it online and then put those into the search instead. Not tremendously convenient, if you ask me. There are a number of other catalogues and designations missing as well, including Groombridge, the WR Wolf-Rayet catalogue, the Gum nebula catalogue, the RCW nebula catalogue, Trumpler objects, Collinder designations, and likely some others too. I realize that I listed a lot there, but integrating even a few of these other catalogues would eliminate a lot of frustration. On a side note, the app absolutely drains through battery, even when using the lowest possible battery settings. On my year and a half to two year old phone I can go out with close to 60 or 70% battery and be down to single digits in a little over an hour. Sure, I could bring my phone out with more charge, but I also think that there surely has to be some way to optimize the app a bit better for battery life across the board. None of this is to discount the good of the app of course, as I mentioned previously I do really love having this app to use for my telescope excursions. I would very much like for the less than stellar (forgive the pun) spots to get more polish.
Amazing app!. This is an amazing app for a serious amateur astronomer. it’s what I have been looking for. Most of the astronomy apps out there are very simple and not for serious observation. It’s filled with great tools to plan or review an observation night, or as a field guide to help you find objects. It can also be used by casual observers to point up and see what’s there.
Awesome tool. I’ve always liked looking at the moon and the stars but on this particular morning, I saw something that was shining so bright. I downloaded this app and am getting an education about the skies—I can’t wait to travel beyond the city skies. I appreciate what I’m learning here this September 2025.
Good App - Iffy Interface. Overall I really like Stellarium. But there is one design choice that is so frustrating that it really makes me want to use other sky apps for Astro. Specifically, when you are required to enter a number, you can’t just type it in. No, the developer has fallen for the fallacy that it’s better to use spinners and sliders. Even worse, when entering a focal length, you need to use not one - BUT TWO - sliders. So a 1377 mm focal length you have to sin the first spinner u til you hit 13, then spin the second spinner till you hit 77. So instead of taking two seconds to type 1377, it takes 15 to 20 seconds to spin it in. It’s ridiculous. I know it seems like a small thing. But when you have Stellarium on your phone and on two iPads, and they don’t sync with each other, and you routinely are adding new scopes or cameras, well, the frustration becomes real. A classic example of interface over function. This is literally the only thing I dislike about the app. In all other aspects it great. But this one point is just needlessly complicated and frustrating.
Such a Joy to Use!. This app is such a joy to use! I’m not an astronomer, I don’t have a telescope or anything more than my iPhone’s night mode, but I do have the good fortune to live in a light free area where the panoply above me is regularly on view. When I wander around at night or early in the morning, Stellarium opens up the omniverse for me, showing and naming the constellations and stars that would otherwise just be little lights. Through it, I have started to appreciate the vastness that surrounds us, even to understand how different cultures saw what I can see, so that it places me both physically and historically. I don’t know of any better way to use a smartphone than that. A totally unique application. Kudos to the developers!
Disappointed. I just paid 9.99 So that me and my five-year-old son may identify planets in the early morning Sky. Wondering why the moon was not where it was supposed to be in the sky after I spent some time looking around, I found it in the completely opposite direction, under the ground It Took some time to realize I had to manually change the time as it defaults to the night sky. We’re looking at it during the day however you cannot visualize the labels very clearly by the stellar bodies because the background sky is too bright and the labels are too light. Please fix this!
Great simulation, but it does come with some bad. I will admit that lots of features have been locked behind a paywall, but just because of the amount of features to gain from it that you wouldn’t find in any other app makes it worth it. But there’s this one bug where when I try to connect my SkyWatcher Virtuoso GTi mount to the app it simply doesn’t work. Still a great app however
Good sky map. I use this app for astrophotography. It helps me locate objects in the night sky with pinpoint precision which is required for high magnification optics. It also give detailed info about every object. I would absolutely recommend it to you.
Great customer service!. I had a problem today with not seeing the alert for the ISS flyover in the observe feature of the app. I sent an email to the “help and feedback” link. Within an hour the developers got back to me. A few hours later they replied and suggested I delete and reinstall. Problem solved! All on a weekend! Really excellent customer service!!!
Great App! Clean Interface. Super easy to use and great app. I splurged for the pro but honestly do see much difference from the normal version. It would be great to have a toggle for deep sky objects. I know I can search them but a way to toggle them on/off on the display would be awesome. Also I was hoping the app might have a screen like recommended tonight for your location but it didn’t have one. Like Jupiter right now in June/July is closest to earth. Overall great app. I look forward to their future improvements and will be using this app for sure.
Almost perfect. I really love this app and I think it works really well. There’s so much information and it’s super easy to use. The reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because it’s missing lots of features that exist on the free PC version like being able to track the ephemeris of a planet. I do understand that it’s parred down probably to make it run smoother and because the average person doesn’t use all that stuff. However for the price I was hoping for the same features. All said, I’m glad to have a smaller app with less features that works well over a clunky bugged up app with all the features from the PC version.
Great app. This seems to be the best app for Astro viewing on the App Store. Sleek and no filler. However I would like to see some features: - 12 hour time toggle - option to show star/object trajectory when selected - lower price. I love there is a free version with no ads. But a slight decrease in price would be perfect (I plan to steer k12 students in my school district to this, it would be great to have pro features like “when to observe” available to them.
Plus is Nice but Standard Version is Fine. I'm a big fan of Stellarium. I just purchased the "plus" version for my iPad. For my use the changes from the standard mobile version are not so impressive as to warrant the increased price. Unless you have a very good reason to want this "plus" version you should just buy the standard version.
The Best, No Question. I’ve used a lot of different star map apps. This one is without a doubt the best, hands down, no contest. Great intuitive usability, reliability and information architecture is awesome, and the depth of features is astounding. I’m an amateur astronomer, so I use and rely on many of the more technical, numerical features. But my partner enjoys it just as much, and she simply loves stargazing and doesn’t have a need for the mathy stuff. I’m also a software engineer by trade, and if I were a developer of this app, I would be extremely proud of myself and my team. A+.
Outstanding growth over time. Kind of large storage footprint, as a designer guessing 1/2 or more is the database. Seems to have grown substantially over the 5 yrs or so since I first booted it up. Think I donated for premium upgrade long ago. Refreshes/Updates seem to be worthwhile, every time. Giving Grand daughters this tool. Makes me happy. U can turn off horizons, view as if you’re looking from a point in space, viewing 360 globe of surrounding universe.
Excellent mobile star ap. I’ve tried a few star apps and so far I like this the best. The upgrade is well worth it for planning tools. I’m also excited to try running our LX200 with it (additional adapter required). Night mode is a nice touch. Would be good to have more advice on best sky brightness and magnitude limits for typical light pollution zones.
Lacking function. I have used Stellarium for Windows and Linux for years. While the app for iOS is okay it doesn’t compare with the other platforms. The control and function of this app is lacking and if I could I’d return it. I do not recommend this for anyone who is used to the original program. Missing the multiple choices for telescopes, oculars, and cameras was the deal breaker for me. In my opinion it’s a go back and do it again.
Compass actually works. Bro, easy to use, don’t really need the paid version unless you want to hook up with an electric telescope, but if you’re just looking through your telescope it’s actually very easy to locate things with. The compass itself works very well and the couple times it wasn’t exact, it was only off by a few degrees. The only real thing the plus upgrade will get you is more info about the object and a deep space pic Hoped this helped
Outstanding Astro Application. Stellarium is by far the best general purpose astronomy application for iPhone. It is really cool, going out with binoculars and identifying various stars, star clusters and nebulae. We travel extensively between the northern and Southern Hemispheres. I’m looking forward to going back to the temperate south in a couple weeks to use it to locate the southern star clusters and Milky Whey features. While the paid version brings many more stars, Stellarium does not big down, allaying previous concerns. I again look forward to the rapid location of the Magellanic clouds, omega Centauri &c.
Can’t ask for much better. Can be a little tricky to find the cool features you want but the more I dig around in the program, the more impressed I am. I also think the cost for premium features is very reasonable.

Star Gazer. These developers deserve some genuine recognition for this application. Powerful software and extremely smooth.
Great App. Love that there are more First Nations star charts becoming more prevalent. In time it would great to see this in the app for Australia’s First Nations peoples also
not correct. this app is nice but the compass is incorrect, it says the moon is on the right even though it isn’t
One problem. The app is great except that I sometimes can’t read the name of the feature I’m seeing.
Compass Calibration issues. I love the app. Gives full detail from star types, lightyear distance. Issue is, every time I open this app it asks to calibrate my compass. When I try to follow instructions to fix it, it’s still inaccurate.
Oh No, Ross and Carrie! podcast. These guys recommend this app
Only the best app in the world 🌏!. I study the stars without going out with this app! You can see the current moon phase and also see which stars are which.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 10/10 best stargazing app i’ve ever seen. no ads, free, no subscriptions. if you’ve got a telescope hanging around then jump on this app now
Great app for star gazers. When I was a child, I always wished I could tell the names of the stars. So I collected star charts from books and tried to identify the stars from the paper charts. However it often not that easy to identify the large number of stars, except for those obvious ones. Stellarium is a new era of star chart. Its interactive nature was of great help for star gazers. I would recommend this app for anyone who has an interest in the stars.
Good 😊!. This app is amazing! Even without the paid version it is so informative! If you click on a star or a planet or anything else it has a detailed description on it. You can zoom in really far and it’s really cool. And there is no ads which is great 👍 overall I would recommend this app
Best Star Gazing App. Perfect! Does everything I hoped it would, is really user friendly and there are no pop-up ads. It also works brilliantly for people in the southern hemisphere, unlike other star gazing apps.
Crashes often. Every time a select a specific telescope I have configured it crashes. Then I remake the telescope with another name, as you can’t delete a telescope once made, and as I select this second telescope it crashes again. Not good enough for my $30 AU
From PC to IPAD. From the desktop to a handheld IPad the transition is perfect.
Nova. For a medium priced app, it does everything it’s designed for and delivers a bit more. Having been a amateur astronomer for 20 years l have seen higher priced apps not deliver half of what this does. To the designers, thank you you’ve done a great job
Good. Every thing about it is so good I’ve been looking for an app like this for soo long 11 / 10 definitely do recommend for stargazers
Astronomical!. Very good, but I think it would be better if you could click on stars, and see what they look like. So amazingly cool! I love the app! I bet I’ve used it about 45 times now!!!!
Star struck. Fantastic app. Good functionality, really intuitive and above all very interesting to identify those saucy planetary bods.
this free version is great. i lovee thiss app so muchhh
Glenn’s review. I never cease to be fascinated by the versatility and depth of detail in this fantastic app. Friends and family I show it to are equally impressed. One problem I found is navigation of its features is a bit cumbersome at first. Thank you and good luck with future updates. Regards Glenn Read. Digger Billion Squags
If field of view function can be added. I have been using Stellarium for a year now. Everything is good and the software is stable. If field of view calculation can be added to the app that would be good. (Just like the desktop one, with sensor size and telescope focal length) so we can frame the target on the mobile easily. Thanks
the best Astronomy app. does exactly what it says on the tin. I’ve tried a few and this is by far the best. It just works.
❤️🫵🖤. Tropic Of Capricious
Fabulous Star Therapy. Know the planets and stars above you at a given place and time. Perfect if you travel a lot, especially out in nature.
Amazing. Wow. The night sky explained. I’m speechless.
Best star app. I use this app almost nightly. I use it to advise me of astronomical occasions, date forward and back for planning astro trips and keeping track of what I have observed. I use it to teach me the night sky: point to things I don’t recognise, and learn info about stars and galaxies.
Stargazing at its best!. This is the first time I have ever left a review for an app because I absolutely love this and want everyone to know how great it is!!! Always looking up and now I know what I’m looking at on such a grand scale. Thank you!
Keeps dropping out...... App works reasonably well, but for a first time user, it doesn’t connect to the server and drops out
Culturally inclusive. First app I found that included astronomy from cultures in the southern hemisphere with their sky culture features. Would love an opinion to be able to overlay different sky cultures so I could see multiple cultures of constellations at once, and could expand on their cultures list. But overall a great app
Happy that there’s no subscription. Well priced for one off. Love the easy interface and reading about the different objects in the sky. Only problem is every now and then my “favourites” list disappears and have to fav all of my preferred ones again.
Excellent. An excellent app to replace lots of paper , good info embedded

Stellarium is SO AWESOME. Stellarium is seriously SO awesome it literally has the correct name for every single star I highly suggest it
Bob T. ….de loin la meilleure App pour le ciel….!!!!
Worth it, don’t second guess yourself on this app!. This app is so well put together, everything from the location tracking to the AR abilities, this has it all and in perfect format! As an astronomer and astrophotographer, this app helped me during my beginnings and to this day I still use it! Keep up the good work devs! Clear skies! -DJ
Starmazing!. Best app out there! I have my stars always in my pocket.
How can i do this. How can i see different areas like with light pollution
I love this app. I love to watch the sky but can you make an for free only app, I need to watch every satellite for free please
stellarium. Je ne me suis jamais autant intéressé a connaitre le nom des étoiles depuis que j'ai cette application et avec la version payante je vois tellement de chose plus precisément et en plus on ne paye qu'une fois, merci aux comcepteurs !!
Love this app!!. Honestly best purchase I’ve made on an app to date 100%! Super cool and gets the imagination going! 👽
Beau. Belle présentation
Starlaruim review. This app it very good for tracking planets and constellations five stars
The Blue Dragon. This app is so amazing I really enjoyed it for tracking this weekends summer solstice and the strawberry full moon , it’s so incredible because I didn’t know the positioning of the constellations and at the same time I’ve been using the energies of the symbols in the sky with my own life for my own progress and enlightenment , evolution and overall well being it’s amazing to actually see how the energies of stars really do influence our everyday lives . What was even more incredible to see if how certain land marker are place where the constellations are For example I enjoyed how you can look down through the earth to see the stars of the under belly of our planet There was a sculpture in New west minster British Columbia at what is called the Quay A friend and I were waiting to watch the moon rise on Saturday night But the sculpture was made with flowers and it was of a snake or serpent And we used the app too look below us and in the exact same spot was the constellation of a snake Incredible! I’d definitely consider paying for the upgrade for this app Thank you Hopefully it is worth it and is a ONE TIME FEE Thank you creators ! Sincerely Bryce Lazar Aka The Blue Dragon 💙✨🐉
Goood. I love this app
inaccurate. very cool app, i love the zoom in feature and detail you can get. but i found that everything was a bit off and to the right when you used to pointing to the sky feature
Wow great app. Finally an app that works well, is free, doesn’t have ads and is really satisfying to use
Great app. Very good app to get to know about the sky, however how do we change from Sidereal to Tropical? Because the moon constellations are not in sync with the tropical zodiac softwares that uses the tropical system.
Amazing. Amazing
Brilliantly done. Five stars, “Literally’ . Fabulous program!
Great app. This app works amazing for Milky Way photography
Big problem !!! Urgent !!!. For some reasons, there are a lot of deep sky objects in this app are missing their corresponding annotations that tells the users the name of the objects and what types of objects they are. Such as the Caldwell 46, aka the Hubble’s variable nebula, nothing pops up when I type C46 in the search bar, but the object is clearly there on the map in the constellation of Monoceros, same goes for many Abell planetary nebulae. Mind fixing this problem , Please ?
Nice app. Nice app, Though not perfect
Realistic magnitudes. You should have realistic magnitudes so it actually looks like the night sky not a fake animation. If there was an option for negative stars or 0 stars, I would choose that. Sky Guide is WAY WAY WAY MUCH MORE BETTER. I recommend you to use Sky Guide instead of this animated app. MAKE IT BETTER
The best cross platform astronomy software. Stellarium is probably the best cross platform software available for astronomy. It is feature rich and also inludes support for many telescopes and mounts. The ability to create hardware profiles to assist with choosing appropriate accessiries and framing assistance for astrophotography as well as visual observing make this software extremely useful to the amateur astronomer.
Disappointing for Astro photography. I had hoped this app would have the same features as the desk top version for setting up different sensor sizes and telescopes and lenses as well as popular photo objects. The old concept of pointing the phone to the sky is lame.
Complement. This is amazing
INCROYABLE 🤩🤪😍😇.
Nice, but…. over a billion stars and no procyon b? what’s up with that? this is a very useful app, but i wish there was a way to search by the gaiadr2 number. yes, a person can go to the gaia archive website and search the source_id, but after converting the ra and dec decimal degrees, the resulting coordinates one gets are way off when entering them in the stellarium app. it took me forever to find kepler-442…had to use the aid of the desktop version. thank you to the developer for the reply. any chance that exoplanets could be added in the future, with the ability to type their name in the search bar, similar to the desktop version?
White Bear 44. Simply Awesome :)
Awesome. I have my mount all working thru Stellarium. Great way to get on target and imaging in mere minutes.
Facile de s’y perdre. Lors de recherche ça virevolte dans tout les sens et facilement
Good to know the stars keep shining. See title above
Wonderfull app. Wonderfull app
Good. Search could use some improvements but over all good
Educational. For the first time I can now identify the lights that I see in the night sky.
Review. Literally my favourite space app, it’s so accurate & easy to use! love love love
Cool app, won’t calibrate. Very cool app, love the AR overlay, but the calibration won’t load correctly. When actually pointed at what is obviously the moon and mars, the overlay shows it many degrees to the right. Which completely throws everything off once you’re trying to actually decipher the unknown night sky
Excellent app! 🌙. Loved using this software in high school so much and this app has every single feature I remember loving on the desktop version back then! Incredibly useful, simple, affordable, reliable and accurate. Cannot recommend this app enough for all space enthusiasts ✨
Best investment.. Lovly app
Faces the wrong direction. Unusable because it refuses to pick up the direction I’m facing. Absolutely useless.
Stellarium review. It is amazing
Knowledge!. I am learning so much about the night sky. I particularly enjoy watching the satellites going by. It helps me find the meteor showers when they’re happening. Being able to distinguish some of the planets is particularly exciting for myself.
Fun to use and very handy!. Easy to use. Good knowledge. Really like the view screen. Very pleasant smooth experience. Everything seems to be functionally useful and intuitively well laid out. Two thumbs up!!
This is the best stargazing app. I have owned and used several apps as a telescope companion for stargazing. This is the best. Especially on iPad with night mode on. It can be used as a star chart and not just as an AR app.
Nice. Finally a app that met my expectations
Best EVER. Simple easy to use and very ACCURATE Thank you very Richard
Fake night sky. Do you really have to make a fake sky I was using my telescope for 6 hours and I had no stars but it said there was fake horrible would rate 0 if was an option
Boo. Can’t even open the app, keeps crashing when trying to open it
Application géniale!. Je l’adore ❤️

Great App! I Have Some Ideas Tho. I love space, And This App, But I Have Some Suggestions For This, 1. Have A Limit To The Space Objects Being Operated Like Solar Walk 2, 2. Add The Voyager Spacecrafts, and other distant objects and human-made objects, 3, Add A Setting To See All Or Most Of The Solar System Objects And Their Orbital Plane, 4. Add The Stars Background When Viewing Stars, 5. Add Black Holes, 6, Allow It To View Comets and meteors, and rouge comets and interstellar space objects, 7, Allow It To View Most Of The Objects In The Solar System. And 8. Add The Oort Cloud, Asteroid Belt, Kuiper Belt, And See Supernovae I Hope You Add These!
An amazing app to capture stars and planets!. I now know where stars are and I can take pictures of them! I also know most constellations by heart (Cygnus, Aquarius, Ursa Major, Centaurus, & Andromeda) and I also know the purpose of constellations! Thank you Stellarium.
What I think. It’s so cool how you can see which stars are which and which constellations they show. This is a great app to look at the stars and figure out which stars are which.
Night mode + Search. One major problem while in Night Mode. While using the search function the on-screen keyboard is NOT affected. This defeats the purpose of being in Night Mode. Is there a work around? Thank you Edit: Thanks for the reply. I understand the difficulty that might be. Here is a thought, perhaps ally with a current popular keyboard app which allows theme changes. It could open up some kind of possibility of not having to re-invent the keyboard, so to speak.
Thank you for this app.. This is so interesting and educational. When in the north woods, away from lights, being able to see and find different stars and planets is great. Thank you.
Love it but…. Paid for the pro version. Recent update seem to take away the option where I have saved telescope sensor combo where it shows you the field of view. I use this all the time! Has it been moved? Put it back please! Will put it back to 5 stars when restored
Stellar. I have been using Stellarium for quite awhile now for my astronomy 🔭 projects and been able to understand and engage with the various aspects of astronomy 🪐 🌆 .
Very good. This is a great app and I love it so far, but I would really really appreciate the ability to change the app's language! I need to have my phone in Spanish but I want to learn the names of stars and constellations in English. I hope they add that ability soon.
One small problem. It’s an amazing app, but recently I’ve been having calibration problems with the compass in the app where it shows the stars in the opposite direction in where my phone is pointing. Other than that I love this app so much!
Great app. Great app it is cool to see the planets up close I wish that it could have a thing where it shows what it's like to stand on it and if you could also zoom in close to stars and galaxies but it is great.
Just so cool but also bad. When we zoom in see real photos of stars but I can’t zoom in to comets I need more zoom in and I need 3d Solar system idk how to do that it so hard but the sun is so bad when zoom in and moon no mountains and creators on moon when zoom in and it is a problem
Law of diminishing returns. I’ve loved this app over the years, but, they are slowly making it barely useful by locking more and more standard features behind a paywall. I can’t even filter objects that are only currently visible. Time to uninstall and chuck this app in the rear view. I’ll most likely be moving to another app that I wouldn’t mind paying for. I won’t pay for basic functionality like Stellarium is devolving into.
I LOVE IT. I’ve had this app from last summer and I got to say it’s AMAZING. It’s one of my favorite apps and I use it at least one time every night. Also I have learned to memorise so many star constellations. It’s so easy to use and so easy to learn!!!!
I like this app!. I’ve turned off several settings that makes it easier to see where I am looking, but I love how you can turn on the names of stars and other things in the sky and they are tied to regional folklore and back stories.
Great app. Even not paying this app is amazing but a ONE TIME FEE to unlock features to see even more of all of the beautiful wonders out there is absolutely amazing and worth every cent
Awesome but make Equatorial grid free. Since I heard about this app, I was stunned. The only minus is that the equatorial grid is free in the web version, but on the mobile I have to pay to use it.
Beautiful app, only goes back to 5000bc. Paid for the upgrade hoping I’d be able to see ancient skies for archeological purposes, disappointed to find it only goes back 7000 years. Stellarium desktop will go back tens of thousands of years, so it’s frustrating to have this random limitation.
Learning Use is not Easy. I will not call this a bad app! I like what it can do, but what directions I was able to receive were very difficult to understand beyond basic! If there were a number to call for guidance it would be great!
Thank you to the genius team who created this app. This app is exactly what I need to keep learning about our universe and our place in it. It helps me situate myself within the planetary solar system and beyond. Thanks!
AMAZING APP!!. It can help with star gazing, and locating stats that you might not have expected to see there, and you can see the future locations of the stars and planets too, which is great!
The best out there. If you’re looking for a clean and intuitive interface, Stellarium has it. It’s a very simple yet powerful tool and I look forward to getting more use out of it.
A great alternative. You will easily get lost in the beauty of this app and everything it does, one might wish for notifications of certain events (like the ISS being visible, or certain stars and constellations rising, things like that.) but otherwise this is a great app.
Very good app. ive been using stelarrium for about a year on my computer and recently on my phone, its very good and helpful and has helped me find ZTF, my only problem is that the moons highlands and way too bright to see any detail, there is no setting to change this
Amazing Astronomy App!. I love this app! I was first introduced to it back in college and it’s amazing! The location features, the accuracy, the movement detection, it’s all fantastic! Would highly recommend for any astronomy lovers, whether experienced or a beginner!
Best astronomy tool!. Intuitive, easy to use, packed with useful, up to date information! I use it on my computer, my iPad, and my phone. I highly recommend it!
Frustrated.. This app is extremely glitchy. I had to do a homework with the website and it didn’t work after trying it ten different times. Next I tried to download the app and it glitched out again. I’m extremely frustrated with this app and won’t be recommending it or using it again.
Light Pollution. As for the heavens above, I live in the NYC metropolitan area. Light pollution is a constant! Stellarium is there despite the sky’s limitations! I once borrowed a friend’s telescope and I was privileged to see Jupiter and Saturn. Not with the best detail! But Stellarium told me where to look. I love this app!!👍🏻
Benchmark star app. their desktop version is wayyy better to learn with, but the mobile is 100% worth a nominal price for using. So easy to set, and so many settings to mess with (change time, place, “live view” vs seeking, show planets/grids/deep space stuff..).
Many years of enjoyment.. I have enjoyed Stellarium, for many years using the computer version and now the IOS version on my Cellphone with my grandson. We use the App as a teaching tool.
How much information do you require for 12 dollars?. I’ve paid a lot more for far less.
Perfect for checking the sky. Great app for checking the sky. The interface is smooth and well designed. Easy to track constellations and the stars.
App downloaded in French. Cannot figure out how to download app in English or switch to English language. Response to developer: I looked at my languages French was 2nd to English in the preferred list. English is the selected language. After I deleted French, Spanish was the 2nd language after English in the list. Now the app is displaying in Spanish. It’s like it’s missing the English localization and falling back to the next preferred, or skipping the preferred language of English altogether. Deleting the app and reinstalling to see if that helps.
Location. I downloaded this app after I’ve gotten a telescope I was fascinated with space and very excited to try this but when I turned it down daytime this was not my location it was a random hut in an empty road and when I typed in my location it said the moon was below me when it was right above me
I’m new, but it’s good. Simple choices have significant usefulness: if you close it in (all red) night mode, it opens in night mode; if you search for a celestial body, it gives you information and gently leads you to it with a big arrow. I’m very pleased. It’s great how much good you can get (sometimes) in inexpensive apps.
Great!. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for - accurate, very configurable, feature-rich, and affordable. It even has the constellation lines for the H.A. Rey Stars book! Highly recommended!
A problem when buying. There is a problem when buying the program, I can't buy it, and there is a problem.
Too expensive. It’s too expensive for what it is and what it does. Try some of the other apps before buying this one
Techgnosis been around. So they slaughtered all people then had ww1 we2 and created this system we can be enlightened and grounded Each is free but only in that enviro none of us would stray this thwartion is creating disorder Lack of common knowledge is destroying everything
Missing a few key items.. Nice to search and adjust time into future. Doesn’t overlay a live view though, just a few’landscapes’. And downloaded to iPhone but not iPad and support hasn’t responded. Update: they did respond and it did finally download. Plus one more star.
Cool App, Orbits Off. This is a cool app and has alot of feature but the orbits and timing seem to be off with tracking fast moving objects. I tried to follow the international space station and every time I try to track it, it starts in the same place so I can’t tell where it is in real time.
Very educational. This app blowing up the itch I’ve always had for astrology. The interface and accessibility are both rewarding and appreciated. Thank you! I will recommend.
The best Astronomy app, But…. I love Stellarium and I use it everyday to observe the stars outside. Now, I have no problem with it. The plus Is fair. But if you guys could find a way to add Blackholes and quasars like Sagittarius A or TON 618 this app would get way more downloads. Thanks for reading! 😁
Most used app on my iPhone. This is my most used app on my iPhone beside my email. Just love the detail and accuracy of the app. I use it to plan my observations in advance. If you’re into astronomy, this is a must have app.
BEST APP EVER!. If your a star gazer and just love space and wanna see the millions and I mean MILLIONS of galaxies like ours and learn about constellations, then buy this app. It is WORTH THE MONEY! Been on it for hours now and probably will be on it for many many more. I give it 5 stars TWICE and then 5 more!
Loving Your App. I find your app very interesting. Been learning a lot. I have about 5 friends that live at the apartment complex where I live and almost every night we are out using your app. Thank you so much
Doesn’t work most of the time. Every other time I open the app it doesn’t work like it just stops moving pretty much freezes up
Highly recommend. Most likely the best free star app on the market, with amazing added content for people who want more. But still the free version is more than enough for any curious armature.
Update idea: eclipse. When the moon blocks the sun now there is a corona around it same for the other eclipses. Now there is a eclipse finder but you need to buy it to have it, for example let’s say that you find a Titan eclipse then you will be able to land on Saturn and see it! (Dev pls read this: pls pls plssss add this in game pls I beg you)
Suggestion. Wish I could turn off Sky Cultures completely, and turn on IAU constellation boundaries. Also set the constellations to all be visible all the time, instead of only the one in the center of the screen being ‘active’.
Excellent app. I am more than excited to have found this app and use it currently to help my astrology practice, but I would really like if we could also go back in time on the calendar to confirm planet star placements
