🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟. I had initially figured that I would give this app a try and even receive useless notifications. I have enjoyed the app and have received USEFUL notifications that keep me in the loop with news that keeps me informed. Thanks KENS5 for not taking advantage of the notifications setting! 🏆

Kens/CBS. Local station is good, seems they are somewhat better about reporting the news without editorial. CBS on the other hand seems very bias, I have stopped watching CBS morning show because they only present stories from one side. They show the destruction without telling what cost in jobs and property damage. I rarely see the cops do anything bad without being provoked and never emphasize that. I know there are bad cops but compared to the races that are killing each other, it is much worse. Where is the outrage over that?

New app does not perform right. Navigation not intuitive or helpful: you quickly get to a dead end and must use the back arrow at the top. But it takes you to the TOP of the main screen, not to the link from which you navigated Several article links only display white content when clicked. No obvious way to report app anomalies. This app seems very beta. It makes me want to choose a new, competing news source app for San Antonio news, weather, traffic, etc.

BEST IN SAN ANTONIO. KENS5 is the BEST News Channel in San Antonio! It’s straight news, no spin and they also try to incorporate some positivity into each newscast. Their online, live weather updates when bad weather is in the area is second to none. Plus I love Isis Romero! LOL

A news guy:. Everything is cool and Kens 5 guys do the best of all the news channel’s and I enjoy watching @ early morning and @ 10 at nights; just keep up what y’all are doing. Y’all just to cool.

Blood donation rules. The article was interesting and informative but I read the article hoping to see if the blood bank has done away with the ‘Ginger bias’. They need blood I’ve donated numerous times in the past yet still turned away. I’m not a medical professional but I’ve heard O-negative is urgently needed. I’ve been turned away just because of the on going fear in the medical community of gingers. Seems like personal at donation centers should be train to handle the Ginger condition. That is that Red heads bleed excessively and feel pain more intensely once the tolerance level has is reached Thank you

The app has come a long way, but it needs more. Please add the ability to save news articles. A saved-articles page where we can organize them would make this my go-to apps. I mean, who wouldn't want to save important articles that pertain to our friends and their part of town? Please add this requirement, most current apps have this ability, please, and thanks.

KENS5 Stars. KENS5 is always at the top of current news! It is always given on the same day or continued throughout the night and that also goes for severe weather! The News Staff are very professional and knowledgeable on what they are reporting regardless of the time of day. We been watching since we moved to New Braunfels in 2012! Hate the new weather screens.. Too many screens. Loved the old radar with all its choices. No such ease of use with new app. Real disappointment!

Love KENS 5. My husband and I watch KENS 5 every morning before heading out to work. I read it during the day while at work and love receiving the breaking news from the App on my phone. ❤️

Old app better. Its harder to find what you want on the app now and the videos don’t always work well. If there’s a weather video it takes a while to load up. This is like dial-up; bring the old app back

KENS 5. Best news cast in San Antonio. I’m glad I have the app. At least I can still get the notifications and see news and weather clips. My AT&T Uverse TV provider is in negotiations with Tegna and I have not been able to see CBS since December 1st. Highly frustrating and disappointing!

Best SA News Station & Staff. I love seeing Jermey Baker on SA Living this morning ☺️ Plus, I absolutely love this news station. You have the most up to date weather, stories and the news anchors, who have become like my family over the TV. I see them daily on my screen, and know their voices, if I’m not watching the actual TV. This has been my favorite station since I moved to San Antonio in 2001. Thank you for coming into my home every day. And, with local stories, I care about. They all seem like family, to me.

RN Chick. KENS 5 provides the best up to the minute weather with the app! I am a retired nurse who loves gardening and the radar provides me future weather casts so I can do what is necessary to keep all my babies alive.

I just want to say thank you for your endless and tireless efforts. The only other thing would be that it seems like you have an unusual amount of new reporters. I didn’t realize the turnover rate was so high or maybe competitive.

KEEP KENS on Direct TV. KENS provides great local news, weather and entertainment. We’re so supportive of KENS that we are going to switch to Dish TV if this ridiculous impasse is not resolved very quickly!! This is a promise. This is not how you keep your viewers, Direct TV. We have choices and you are quickly NOT going to be the service we use in this household. Do the right thing during this Pandemic, Direct TV.

This app is totally lame!. If I could figure out a way to give Ken’s 5 a half star, I’d do it! I literally hate this app! I get notifications throughout the day from Ken’s 5. When I click on them it takes me to the app, but more often than not, the content is missing! I can’t tell you how often this happens! It is so annoying, so frustrating!! FIX THIS THING!! It’s a disgrace!! How are local people supposed to be informed about what’s going on around them??!!??!!

My observation as a viewer. It has been my observation that you sometimes do not cover events that impact our metro & state society; events that can be of significant importance to viewers. EXAMPLES: The 2 citizens peaceful protests recently held at the grounds of our state’s Capitol- 1.) the one against The Hearbeat Bill & 2) the one against Texas voter’s rights suppression. This is called censorship.

Magnolia pancake house on Huebner. People were standing outside over the weekend trying to get into this place this restaurant to get pancakes. I thought there was a regulation about how many people could be at one restaurant Charlesck

Informative news. I enjoy the news but sick of everything having commercials even this to read the news it’s full of commercials. Sick of it

KENS-5 SA. One of San Antonio’s oldest TV stations, too bad there are too many CBS & msm agenda driven opinions and slanted reports - so the mute button gets a workout. KENS did a good job on local weather during Feb-2021 statewide power outage. I use outside antenna as I “Cut The Cable” years ago. With antenna and having majored in Journalism I kerp surfing KENS, KSAT and FOXNEWS-CH-29 I can cherry pick good weather and avoid the leftist dominated opinion driven propaganda that definitely isn’t news.

Over all. Y’all have the news reporting on the spot, weather cast I love KENS 5 been watching years but for a week I haven’t been able to watch due to the contact with AT&T Directv and I don’t have to watch another channel witch I don’t like.I miss my 5am wake up news and 10pm news. Love y’all please come back to my home

Channel 5 - KENS Access. As a subscriber to DirecTV, I watch KENS more than any other channel for my resource for news & weather. I prefer this channel over other local channels for many reasons. The national news for CBS is my preference also as well as the night time programs. There has been a recent notification that TEGNA is considering pulling these channels from access. I am requesting that is not done and that the TEGNA channels remain accessible through KENS. Thank you in advance, I know these negotiations will close quickly and maintain the current accessibility. Exceptional Kens5. Blessings from Fran Kurtz! We have been watching Kens5 for over 20 years! The delivery of the news is exceptional! I love the friendliness of everyone! We love Bill Taylor! Thank you, Bill for coming to my schools to teach my kiddos! Exceptional job by weather team staff during the pandemic keeping the kids engaged with live programs! We feel as if we have old friends visiting our home with each broadcast from morning to evening! Thank you all for your professionalism, educational insights, and just genuine love for the people of San Antonio including all the surrounding areas! 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Forget 5 stars. The app is very hard to use. The print requires A magnifying glass. The only reason it got 5 stars was I hit the wrong end star. I was using my iPad and could nearly read the print.

Best New & Weather. KENS5 NEWS is what I’ve been watching for the last 50 years. We’ve been through some tough times tougher. They give up to the minute news, & Deborah Knapp & Henry Ramos are outstanding. In the weather none are Better than Bill Taylor. I miss him on his days off. He’s spot on for the weather.

KENS5 Mobile. This has been the best newsfeed since I am temporarily out of the city. I am informed of everything including the weather. It’s a great app to keep in touch with SA.

Weather Section is lacking. I had to delete this app, as the weather section was very disappointing and difficult to navigate. Took me about half an hour to find the radar, and once I did find it, it was only the national model. They also left some stories on there for two weeks, long after their expiration date. Deleted the app and now I’m using KSAT 12’s app and am enjoying it.

App freezes constantly. I was glad to see a new version of the app at first but quickly realized this one is even worse than the first one. It freezes up even reading text stories, so I can’t imagine trying to watch videos with it. I have to force quit just to get my phone back. The app also doesn’t refresh and there are older stories that show up again randomly. Use KSAT’s app instead.

KENS 5. Thanks for your KENS 5 app. I am certainly enjoying all the different news, sports, weather, events, and all the updates!! Thank you San Antonio for all your coverage on the city and surrounding areas!

Headline news. Always enjoy Kens 5 but your website isn’t very friendly for finding current local stories over a day or two old.

Not a fan-bring back old.. Not liking the new app. Screen is very jumpy while scrolling due to pictures loading. Click to read one story and that scrolls into another second story that almost seems like they run together. Go back to main menu and it takes you back to top of the page. Radar can be moved with one finger while traffic map has to be moved with two fingers. Don’t like how you have to click to go to weather map then go back to see other items. What are the cartoon characters on the traffic map? Couldn’t find an explanation. Not very user friendly.

CoVid-19 Coverage. Thanks for all the great links and extra efforts to keep the community and surrounding suburbs informed. Doesn’t work properly. Regularly happens...get a notification about a story, click notification, app opens but unable to locate story...quit app, relaunch, scroll through headlines, story nowhere to be found...not sure if the social media/IT peeps are screwing this up or if it’s the reporters not knowing how to post a story???

Kens 5. The problem I have with Kens5 is that your station reports on the agenda of the left! Lies about the Covid vaccine and lies that masks protect you when all your doing is harming and killing ppl. Only N95 masks will protect you from an airborne virus and now ppl are dropping dead because of the vaccine!

New format. Since the new format was updated, some stories open but freeze on a page. I have to close and reopen to read a story. This occurs very frequently, so I am usually checking other stations for news until this is fixed.

Please provide an option to remove ads, even if we have to pay for it.. Need to have a way or option to remove ads, guys. I’d pay to have an ad-free version, because nothing is more annoying than jumping into a live news feed where critical info might be being dispersed and then getting blocked by a 25 second ad, potentially missing out on this information. I can’t be the only person that feels this way.

Not as good as it once was. I have been watching Kens5 literally my entire life. I remember when the weather man would walk outside and how us how the ants would be going crazy, telling us a storm was coming. The most amazing thing ever. As I grew older, that man passed away. Times changed and I got the app and ditched regular TV. It worked so well. I knew after certain times to check the app to see what the latest update was... About a year ago Kens5 redid their app, adding in more commercials to make more money. So, not only do you have ads through the ENTIRE feed, but the ENTIRE story as well. Even worse, on the video you click on... it glitches so bad that I finally gave up watching the lady rescue her dog in the flood today and went to Ksat12, which use to be considered a cuss word in my house. From reading the reviews on here, it’s safe to say your excessive use of ads will be your downfall.

Direct TV. It is beyond annoying that I have to stream my favorite news station because two companies can’t figure out a contract. 100% ridiculous.

Classrooms. If the children wear mask to school ,will they be 6 ft apart? If so then fewer children would have to be in classroom, or is it possible to place a clear plastic glass around a desk? If so then mask would have to be worn only when entering, changing classes and leaving premises, PE would have to be canceled,I think breakfast should being eaten at home then eat lunch at their desk.

Alamo is a polarizing image. The layout and news on offering is much better than the KSAT app which is atrocious, however as much as it is easier to navigate, the opening alamo background... Who is that for? Seriously use the riverwalk, tower of the americas or the bloody alamoDOME, but the alamo??? It alienates a vast swath of the south texas population in favor of rasict myth and ideology. Sorry but like every other san antonio news app, this one is a bust, until they respect all their readers/veiwers. You really gonna make me try fox/kaab?

Great source of latest information. I switched to Kens 5 after another station I had been watching for years was taken over by Sinclair. Great station, caring and accurate reporting and I’m really enjoying the app. Very well designed!

Everything about this app stinks. Tried reading several articles and the screen freezes and won’t release making me close the app out and this happens daily. So frustrating. The layout is also bad on this one. The old app had categories, local news, good eats, national news etc... this one is a mash of everything and it’s hard to find what you want to read. Did anyone test this out before it was released. You are supposed to be the better news station in town and this is the best you could do. Not good Kens5, not good at all.

Kens 5 ♥️. I always watch the news at 10 and other times when I’m able. Deborah Knapp, Bill Taylor and Joe Reinagel are my very favorites. Jeff Brady was awesome too. Truth is I enjoy everyone who shares the news with us. Keep up the fantastic job you all are doing.

The weather was better on the old app.. The new weather feature is horrible. The old one was better. I also don’t like the fact that I wasn’t given a choice on upgrading or not. Please go back to the old radar. It was user friendly, I like how I could go to different zones. This new one doesn’t even show my location.

New app is trash. Your old app was much better. Your old app needed improvement, but your new app is not any better. Your new app is worse. You should fire your app developer. I was excited when I heard about your new app. I deleted the old KENS 5 app, man was I stupid for doing so, and downloaded your new app. That was a waste. Unfortunately it’s back to using the KSAT 12 app for me. Maybe one day you’ll get a real app to replace this trash.

Story. There was a story about each a family who’s house was struck by lightning. I have furniture that they might be interested in for their home .

Kens5 Weather. Really appreciate the Kens5 Weather team. A couple of suggestions for the app: I would love to turn it sideways on my phone & be able to see the 7 day forecast larger! Please!!

Old one was better. I like that you can have favorites on this newer version but the weather functions are terrible. Too many screens and swiping takes you out of the topic all together. Very frustrating, needs work and to be better organized.

New KENS app. I do not like the new KENS app. With the old one I could easily get to weather radar maps. Tried for 15 min with new app but never did find radar, only weather reports from meteorologists. Most times I would rather just see the radar. And today’s weather page has the headline about tropical storm Barry using the spelling of Berry. Looks like someone needs to do some editing. I think I’ll just use the KSAT app.

Ok, but ads really lessen the usability. The ads are overbearing. I spend more time watching ads then news. Provide a pay option to lose the ads. Uninstalling...

KENS 5 REVIEW. I’ve enjoyed watching the news for as long as Debra Knapp has been on air maybe longer but I won’t say by how much😝. The news, weather, sports and traffic comes together so well.

I get a notice on my phone and touch it to read and it’s nothing about what you sent! This happens constantly all day! Deletion of your app is imminent! My kids live there and they don’t like you, either!

Weather. I like the fact that an allergy report is posted and the late breaking report notifications. Good app!

Radar. I’ve been using your site for awhile now. And I follow the weather regularly. But a couple of the sites are not working. They really need to be fixed. Thank you for being there.

Alerts to news in app. I find this app irritating. I get a news alert and instantly go to the app but cannot find the story related to the app.

Terrible!. Loved the KENS5 app before the update. It crashes quite frequently now and the content leaves much to be desired. Too many misspellings, typos and grammatical errors. Way too many ads! Instead of interrupting each story with ads/sponsored content, it would make more sense to cut back and keep it at the bottom of the page.

Ads!!!. The amount of ads required to see local news is ridiculous. Promptly delete as you will spend more waiting for ads to then actually viewing news!
