Just OK; Not Intuitive. I’m in my free trial period. Unless things change, I probably won’t continue my subscription. I like that it notifies me that the load is done but World prefer if the app had a red notification badge in case I miss the notification. Also, I’m pretty tech savvy, but I can’t figure out how “Favorites” are supposed to work. It seems I can assign only one cycle to the Custom setting on the washer & have to change it from the app in order to get the washer to change settings. That would be OK if there was a way to easily start the cycle from the Favorites page. It looks like my only option is to set it to start in the future & at least an hour later. Very clunky app.

Maytag app. This is a terrible App. you can’t use any special characters when signing up on the App, although it doesn’t tell you that. This resulted in me, phoning customer service and being on hold for 15 minutes. when you create a password, it will change the password for any other appliances you have registered. So the next time you login to one of your other appliance Apps you will have to change that password as well. It also does not link to anything you’ve registered on their website. the app and the website do not speak to each other. Pretty useless. They need to invest a bit more money and upgrade this technology.

There’s a software update but I can’t update. I’m running the latest app and it connects to my washer with no issues and runs fine. The app says there is a software update for the washer and tells me to put it in sleep mode and then hit continue on the app. I do this but nothing happens, pressing continue on the app does zero, zip. The only way to get the continue pop up to go away is to hit cancel. I’m loathe to uninstall the app because it’s such a pain to get it to connect to washer first time. It just seems that every time there’s an app update, something else stops working.

READ the terms & conditions!!!. I am a paralegal and with this app Maytag covers themselves and YOU six ways to Sunday that you can do NOTHING to them even if they KNEW something was wrong or dangerous and did nothing to fix it! They own ALL your information and have the right to modify anything to suit themselves, use your name, and any information of yours they have managed to get hold of, and give to their affiliates or third parties, and there is nothing you can do about it! They can control your machines without your permission, but wait you gave them permission to do anything they want! I know it is long and boring but READ what you are agreeing to! I refuse to agree to this travesty of justice that goes against everything free enterprise in American stands for! Do yourself a favor and delete this app! Do not agree to these terms!

Rinse cycle non existent. Hate the rinse cycle. No water accumulates in the tub. No agitation to rinse the clothes. Just a little spray from the trickling water hitting the bottom of tub since the clothes are plastered to the side of tub after the spin cycle following wash cycle. Nosiest machine ever. Grunts, groans, shakes, rattles and rolls…horrible! Told by tech who came to inspect and never watched the rinse cycle, don’t use “normal/regular” cycle. That’s the one that uses least amount of water so you’re better off using another cycle. I tried different cycles and no difference. I’m better off putting the clothes through another “wash” cycle with no detergent. At least there will be water in the tub and the clothes will agitate and get rinsed!

Old Version was Vastly Superior. The old version of this app was so vastly superior to the new version it is t even funny. The old version showed both washer and dryer cycle on the same page so you didn’t have to switch tabs between appliances, and the old app version wasn’t cluttered with pointless marketing imagery. Lastly this new app just plain stops working every few weeks and has to be deleted and reinstalled to get it working again. Maytag if you actually want people to PAY for this service you need to provide a FUNCTIONAL app. Fix this dumpster fire please. The old version worked fine.

Last update completely ruined. I’ve had this app with my Maytag washer and dryer for over a year. Since the last update to the app, my washer and dryer will no longer stay connected. I can’t do a software update on both my appliances. I’ve emailed customer support and telling them this. I also told them everything I’ve tried so far. I was given a generic reply telling me to try doing all the things I’ve already done. I’m currently on hold 30+ minutes, which the hold time keeps going up instead of down. I’m below the poverty line and paid over $2K for these machines that don’t even work properly. This is completely unacceptable.

Very Poor App. The app would be great if it worked all the time. I can’t hear my washer and dryer because of their location in the home. The app is great because I could see the progress of the washer and dryer and would be notified when the cycle was complete. However, it will work for a couple times and then when you sign in you don’t see your washer/dryer and you get a spinning circle. Now I have to run back and forth to check on the appliances which is difficult since I’m a disabled veteran. I wish they would fix the app so it would work all the time. Wouldn’t recommend Maytag appliances or their apps.

Unbelievably poor product. There are too many issues with this product to even list them all. To name just a few…. Pore washing quality in general, water levels not even close to being accurate or enough to even get the close wet, cycles error out, jam, reset, end before even start washing… Just an absolute waste of money, will be going to another brand and will recommend people stay away from these products and Maytag in general. Have had these products for just over two years and have had issues from the start, we are fed up with the constant headache these have been.

Pointless. This app is totally pointless. You have to turn the power on to be able to activate a cycle then you still have to press start on the machine. What’s the point? I can do all that from right there in front of the machine. You should be able to start it from the phone, not being able to is just dumb. I would like to add since the developer responded. My washer and dryer are both enabled. They are both linked to my wifi and this waste of time app. The washer and dryer both have to be powered on to do anything on the app then when you select a cycle you still have to push start on the appliance. It is so stupid and pointless. I can select a cycle while standing there at the machine. What the app does is send a message when they are finished with their cycle or when the clothes need rearranged in the dryer. It will also show what the error codes mean(like when opening the lid on the washer) You can create your own customized cycle but you can also do that from the controls on the machine. The app doesn’t do anything useful. I would give this app zero stars if I could now even more so since their response was basically your appliance may not be enabled. If I have to reset the stupid thing every single load or every time the lid opens what is the point. What is the point of the wifi enabled option on the appliances. Total gimmick and a waste

Doesn’t ever work. Can you please fix this stupid app?! (And your appliances) It’s never connected to my appliances, although somehow it still sends me notifications ?? I can’t even get into it at all now. It doesn’t open when I click on it at all - it just flickers and goes away. Tried to get into it a few weeks ago and it said I was never registered, which I definitely am. I wish appliances never went to all of this stupid computer crap. The old fashioned way was much better - ugh. I can’t even reposition my off level sheets without screwing up the washer and having to start over again.

New Look - Complete Loss of Functionality. The new look may seem great in the promo pics, but since the redesign the app is broken. Nothing loads, not even the settings or the stain guide (it’s that bad). Buttons are blank rectangles. It turned into a completely useless application. I wish we could revert to the previous version as it worked just fine for a washing machine application. The only thing that does work is that I still get push notifications for when my washer or dryer is done as this was configured in the previous version. Although now I can’t change any settings or even view the appliances from within the application, as again, it’s a bunch of empty shapes. Clearly more time was given towards the new artwork than the user experience and overall quality. iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 14.5 (previous versions of iOS did not work either since this redesign) Rather surprising to see an app this badly broken release on the App Store — to the point where this is the first review I’ve ever left. The app was great before — it did the job. Trying to look fancy, again for a washing machine app, broke the core functionality.

Fix app WI-FI issues. Hey please fix the app connection with Wi-Fi It won’t stay connected to Wi-Fi all other devices in home stay connected but the washer and dryer won’t and there are glitches in the app also the washer and dryer box that shows you how longer they have to run before a cycle is done glitches please fix these problems as soon as possible please Do love the app a lot when it does work right Don’t love the problems that the app has Once again Please fix it

Doesn’t Work. I literally open the app and see nothing. It doesn’t even tell me if my washer/dryer are currently running, how much time is left, what type of cycle, etc. When there’s any error codes on the machines, I get the notification saying “open app to troubleshoot” but when I click it to go into the app, nothing happens. The only good thing is the notifications telling you when the loads are done but definitely not worth a subscription. This app hasn’t worked properly for me in months. It’s extremely disappointing to spend more for the better appliances that have features like this that can’t be used. Glad I got a free trial with my machines instead of purchasing off the bat and finding this. I know I won’t be buying a subscription when my time is up!!!

Fix Alexa integration!. Hey Maytag! We just bought the washer and dryer pair primarily because of the smart technology and integration with Alexa. To my HUGE disappointment, while the app does connect to Alexa, there is NO notification from Alexa when a wash or dry cycle is finished. Only the phone app gives a notification. I don’t want to carry my phone around the house for this notice. LG and other brands’ apps DO announce on Alexa when a cycle is done. Maytag needs to do the same! This is ridiculous and disappointing. Also, the app seems to regularly show the appliances as offline. Please check this bug too.

Never fully loads the app. I am not sure what happened as it was working on for awhile. Now I have had to fully delete and reinstall the app 4 different times as it never fully loads my machine which there fore doesn’t give me access to use it remotely. I also dislike that their are washing options in the app that are not available on my machine. I shouldn’t have to pay to be able to use all the options for my machine

Notifications for Finished not Working. The first day I setup the alarms for my washer and dryer I did get notifications when the washer or dryer had completed. I no longer get alerts. I’ve tried everything I can to fix it so that I’d get a notification when complete and have go nothing. I checked for software updates and nothing. I’ve started a load of washing and drying with my iPhone app and nothing.

Ok app. I don’t like the need for a paid subscription. LG does not change for their app. Would have possibly made a different choice if I knew about the subscription fees. Also washer stopped for an unbalanced load. No notifications were sent. This is a prime reason you have a phone app. When you have a problem you have immediate notification to address the situation.

easy and convenient!. I never thought I would want a smart washer/dryer but it’s been great! We’ve had this new set a few weeks now and the app the same amount of time. I can easily restart the dryer if I’m doing something right at that moment or check on remaining time for a load. I never have connection issues and the app is easy to navigate and change notification settings. Fully recommend this app if it’s compatible with your washer/dryer

Good luck if you ever need to reconnect. I’m honestly shocked that this app has such high reviews. It’s a decent enough app when it works, but if my internet ever goes out the entire system goes down. I constantly have to FIGHT with these things to connect them to my wifi, resulting in endless loops of deleting them from the app, deleting the app itself, unplugging my appliances, it’s just a gigantic mess. Makes me sad because the first time I connected everything it went so smooth and then it’s been a nightmare since, resulting in me barely using the functionality I paid for.

Which washer is done?. Solid start to a connected washer/dryer app but missing some key process features. We have several pair of these washer/dryers in a few locations in our house and the app kindly lets us know the washer is done, but which one?? Should I head to the basement, garage or kids laundry room? Simple need to add the machine name string into the alert. I can sometimes figure it out by going into the app but when the dryers are done they all say Idle and look the same. The alert should also allow you to simply tap keep fresh tumble for 30 mins (until I get off this zoom call) etc. Also the message “Your clothes are clean!” Causes me to think for a second is that the washer or dryer? How about “X Washer is done.” And “Y Dryer is done”. Sometimes their aren’t clothes involved like when I run the Affresh machine cleaning cycle.

Maytag most expensive useless bricks. If you are blind or visually impaired, do not buy these appliances to use this app with voiceover, as I initially did. I was initially very happy with the appliances and the app; however, in March of this year, there was an “update” to the app. This “update“ rendered the app useless to me with voiceover. I wrote a review, and contacted the company by phone. They contacted me back and told me that my problems should be taken care of with an update that was scheduled for April. At the end of April, I was contacted and told that the update would not happen until the following month. When the “update“ finally happened, I saw a little to no change in my ability to use the app with voiceover The appliances are essentially bricks to me if not fully functional with Voiceover. By the way, Voiceover is an app that comes on every iPhone from the factory. It reads print on the phone’s screen aloud. My wife, who is on medical leave due to surgery, is now having to do the laundry because I can’t access the app as before. To make matters worse, I recommended other blind people to purchase Maytag smart appliances because of my initial happiness with my appliances and the ease of use with the app and voiceover. Sadly, I can not, and will not recommend these appliances again until I am able to successfully operate them using voiceover as I was able to do prior to the “update“

Awesome. I really appreciate the fact this app is now free from MayTag. I was able to start my washer from the road about 1hour before I returned after a few days being out of town. Also really appreciate the app telling me the washer has finished a cycle as the washer is on a different floor. Thank You MayTag for making this app available and free to use.

Worst washing machine EVER!. Purchased the SMART Capable 5.3-cu ft HE Impeller Top-Load Washer in November 2022. Within just 3 months of purchase I had a service repair tech check my washer because the tub keep going out of balance. About 2 months later, another service tech had to come. They both said there was nothing they could do but recommend to fill it up with more laundry than I needed to wash. So, this machine is supposed to be energy and water efficient but it was constantly having to re-balance the load several times and I would even have to stop what I was doing to redistribute laundry. How is that saving energy or water? Now, the machine doesn’t put enough water in the tub and my laundry just rolls around in the tub all by itself. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MACHINE!!!! I read bad reviews about it but thought I would give it a try. Big mistake!

iPhone users beware!. I purchased my washer and dryer two months ago and this app worked for about a week. It doesn’t provide a status update for my appliances and despite deleting and redownloading several times, my products don’t appear. It also freezes when I try to reregister my products! Overall very frustrating. You pay more for a machine that has “smart” capabilities like updates to your phone, then have to pay for the subscription, and it STILL doesn’t work! I have had nothing but headaches with my Maytag products

Not Dependable. This 2.0 version is a mess. I can’t get it to work correctly. It dropped my washer and won’t let me reconnect it. My dryer was on it until today. The stain guide doesn’t come up. The customer support is good— but I was on for like 30 minutes. The wifi connections are odd— as other have said. They had me go through my router and that was nerve wracking. I do expect more from Maytag and a higher commitment to get this right. It reflects badly on the company. I’ve waited a month now for them to work the kinks out—and it still isn’t working. I have other apps for mechanical products such as my Jura coffee maker. Two years with that and not one issue— flawless. Guess I’ll be calling Maytag support again. At least they’re friendly and try to help.

App is functional but could use more phone features. It would be great if the app took advantage of iOS’s Live Update functionality which would display remaining time on the Lock Screen (like sports apps do with sports scores). With the newer always on display I can just glance at my phone to see if I have time to microwave some food or if I should wait until the washer or dryer is done in a few minutes.

Really should be zero stars.. Our smarthome (which has extremely robust wifi, servers, etc) has not benefited from the shoddy technology these machines provide. As many others have mentioned- the app randomly kicks off my machines and so I am, even while writing this app, spending my entire day trying to get it reconnected. Currently the app is telling me that I am connected, yet my machine is indicating I am not….even after unplugging the machine and reconnecting. After trying every method the Maytag troubleshooting site recommends I still have a machine that’s not connected to the wifi and laundry that still needs to be done. I guarantee you that if Apple made smart laundry equipment, they wouldn’t have all of these elementary issues….just saying.

App does not work. The app just plain does not work, very disappointed. To start I am a software developer for a major US Corp, so no BS tech answer. I am completely at a miss on why the login credentials that are created online when registering your new appliances are not also used to login to the app, why do you have to create a new login? Once you do try and create a login we can only get to the point of the email activation step and cannot get past it because you have not sent an email yet. Do not go down the road of asking us to look in the junk folder as that and many other folders have already been looked in, you have not sent an email for us to activate the account. It is ridiculous to ask us to call tech/help support to get this to happen. As many of reviews that I have read about this app have stated many issue that are being had, maybe some rigorous testing of the application should be done before releasing it to the public for use. I hope that there is a bug fix update coming soon otherwise it becomes completely useless.

Updated! Awesome best laundry app. With the latest update this app has it all. A nice user interface, ability to control basic remote control functions, and you can even deep dive into settings to make detergent concentration changes. Another nice feature is the ability to “Assign a task” and text message your kids, partners, or house mates to go get the laundry out of the dryer. Overall a nice update

It’s Free Now!. Ok, I liked this app but refused to give it anything above a single star. Prior to this version, you had to pay to use the app. Didn’t make much sense to purchase a $2k washer and dryer to only be squeeze for extra money by Maytag. Since it’s included with the purchase of the appliances now, I’ll give an updated review. The app works great. The notifications letting you know your laundry is done ensures you don’t forget to transfer them. Also, if you have clothes in the dryer, you can remote start it. I use this when I wake up, it’s cold in the house, and I want to put on warm clothes. 😁

Updates need work. The latest update need work, 9/10 times my appliances don’t even show up. Which defeats the entire purpose of them having Bluetooth to connect to my phone. Before this update it kept kicking me out of the account and disconnecting my phone from the appliances. I just want it to stay connected and to show my appliances like it’s supposed to do... When it works I love it, I’m pretty bad at remembering to change clothes over from the washer to the dryer and having them connect to my phone (when it works) is a lifesaver.

Update is beyond horrible!. The only thing I like about the new update is the streamline look. The update is complete rubbish. To start, it only connects to my washing machine maybe 10% of the time. I usually have to delete the app from my phone reinstall it and re-login to be able to get it to connect to my machine. Who sets up an app to scroll side to side, especially when you have such a long list of options? Next the main reason I used the app was because it always reverted to the default settings whereas the washing machine remembered your last programmed setting. Now the app remembers the programmed setting which makes it completely useless.

Slow connection…. When I initially installed it, it was working perfectly. I could go into the app and I could see how much time was left in my washer and it would always notify me when my wash was done. I feel like there was an update and now it is very slow in loading and it never shows me how much time is left on my washer anymore. I still get the notifications when my wash is done but there’s no way to check how much time is left or to make any changes because it won’t finish loading. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling and it worked for a little while again, but the next time I tried to use it, it never finished loading anything. I still have the app because it does notify me when the wash is done but I have no use for anything else.

App never works. I am very disappointed with this app. We paid for the highest priced washer and dryer and it was waste. The biggest sell was being able to start my dryer and steam refresh my clothes in the morning without having to go physically do it. The first two times I opened the app I could see my appliances. Since they have not shown up. It just spins. They ARE connected to the app. I get a very late message saying my clothes are done. I can’t control any settings or see what’s going on. What a waste. I also thought the update would fix this because I can’t be the only one. Instead it can now order my supplies when it’s running low… how about simply working in the first place Maytag.

HORRIBLE SINCE NEW APP UPDATE. I got this app last year when I purchased my new washer & dryer. At first I loved the app my appliances stayed connected never had an issue. Then the new update earlier this year came out so naturally I updated. Worst decision ever. Since then my appliances WiFi do not stay connected to my app they automatically turn off after each cycle is finished as where before this recent update they’d stay connected. My appliances will every so often usually once a week will disconnect the appliance from my app thus making me have to delete the app then re-download the app. Ive had to call customer service just to get my appliances to reconnect to the app because they would not recognize my wifi that’s been the same since getting my appliances. Getting ahold of someone in customer service is a nightmare But once you do get ahold of someone they’re super helpful. I will not pay for this app once my trial is up because of all the issues with this update. Please fix bugs in this update.

Please fix the app- updates brought problems. Hi- I love this app however with the newest updates I’m continually running into problems with the app resulting in me having to fully delete the app and download it again and sign in. The app will work great for a while until it doesn’t and when launching the app all it does is show the spinning “loading” circle and never get to the screen where my appliance devices are listed. This doesn’t affect notifications on the iPhone or Apple Watch however. So I am still noticed my cycle / load is done but I’m not able to view any details on any appliance from the app when it gets stuck like this. Also- attempting to sign out will occasionally work but most of the time when it’s stuck it will say it’s a bad request / similar to that. Only choice is to delete and reinstall which every time I’ve done that it’s fixed immediately. Signal and connectivity within my home and devices aren’t any different - correlates to updates and changes / improvements to the app. Hope this helps identify the issue - thanks!

Weak security and bad registration. Registration on this app allows password length of only up to 15 characters and NO special characters. Unacceptable in 2020 with security-conscious people using password managers with random long passwords and special characters. Especially for software that REQUIRES your home address and phone number. Also, the email confirmation for registration requires clicking a link that Microsoft detects and blocks as UNSAFE with a bright red banner. Again...this is in 2020. I’m sure this is from the external service Whirlpool uses, but how many times have you registered for something and confirmed easily and smoothly by clicking the confirmation link? It’s a common, simple task. In this one, you have to do what years of end user security training has taught you to avoid: close your eyes, click the “Continue anyway (not recommended)” link, and hope you’re not a victim of phishing. I won’t comment on the stupid subscription model since it’s just bad policy, not bad software development.

Tech lagging behind the quality of the hardware. Sorry you guys haven’t successfully married your tech with your appliances but it’s just not acceptable. It really ruins the whole pitch “my Maytag has lasted for years.” The concept of the app is right but the app doesn’t work (as you know). Also unfortunately the smart appliance controls on my washer don’t work 100%. The washer stopped beeping or sounding any alarms I’ve set. I’ve rebooted the machine, updated the firmware and nothing fixes it. I will be following up on the warranty to try to get it fixed. And please fix the app. Your machines are too good to suffer from this kind of problem.

App Issues/Clunky. Purchased a new Maytag washer & dryer. Downloaded the app to create a new account and register my product. The registration page would not allow me to accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’ box. After deleting the app and downloading again to repeat steps above it still didn’t work. Went to Maytag’s website to create an account and registered my product. That worked great. I downloaded the app for the third time thinking the website and app would be in sync. I tried to sign in with my login used on the website but still didn’t work. Help and feedback would be appreciated. I’d like to get my washer and dryer connected to my WiFi system. Thanks!

404 this app!. When it works, it’s a nice app. Unfortunately the app doesn’t work 90% of the time, and the insult is Whirlpool wants to charge you $1/month for a subscription to an app to manage a washer/dryer you paid $1,000 each for. On top of that, their app only works on the 2.4GHz spectrum, however most modern WiFi networks in homes these days are dual band 2.4 and 5GHz. Considering the connected appliances sold by Whirlpool are in their top end product lines, you’d think someone at Whirlpool would have done a market study and realize pretty much all apps to manage appliances in a WiFi connected home these days should be free, and work on dual band WiFi, and those folks spending $$$ for a top end washer probably have decent WiFi. I use multiple apps from appliance vendors in my home to manage WiFi connected devices (locks, cameras, smoke alarms, etc.), and NONE of them have these issues or restrictions. It’s an insult to ask people for $ if they’ve already shelled out $$$$ for your best products. Get it together, Whirlpool! Fix the dang app to work on dual band WiFi, and ditch the subscription!

Slow Connection and lacks features. I am happy with the top load washer and that it has a wifi connected app. I really like the notification when the wash is done and that I can set up favorites for different types of loads. I not happy with how long it takes for the app to find my washer. I have great wifi throughout the house, including the laundry room. The remote start disables after each wash and can take up to 10 minutes to show up on my phone, at which time I’ve already manually started it. I’m also not very impressed with the $1/month charge, but have read enough reviews to realize that Maytag is not going to remove the subscription model. Even with the monthly charge, I would give this app 5 stars if it worked well. Maybe they will use some of the subscription to speed up the interface.

DON’T DO IT!. This App forces you into an arbitration agreement and relinquishes some of your privacy rights with multiple companies (both Maytag/Wirlpool AND the creator of the app). It will set up a subscription from which they will charge you automatically. So in order to use the “custom cycle” on my Maytag washing machine (which I paid $800+ for) I now have to pay them a certain amount a month to be able to use the “custom cycle” that is neither explained nor defined in the book that came with the washing machine. If I unsubscribe I lose the cycle! My Maytag MVW6230 machine comes with no “color cycle”, one of the most commonly used cycles. Instead it has been replaced with a “custom cycle” that you have to pay for in order to use. What a scam! The poorly written manual that comes with the machine just disguises an apparent scam to get people to pay more money to conveniently use a machine they already paid for!

New washer/dryer with remote app. Purchased new washer and washer with the remote app and I love it. App works as advertised. Washer cleans well, with different wash cycles. The dryer moisture sensing cycle did not work as well. The first load we dried was a mix of jeans, sweaters, T-shirts, polyester, etc., and the the sweaters and jeans were still damp. Unsure if that was due to the different drying times for fabrics or a problem with the sensor. Overall though, I’m very satisfied with the new appliances

Notifications all night long. Not quite sure what’s happening… But along with my appliances not even showing up in the app anymore—the Guessing Game has ALWAYS been my favorite—I’ve been receiving (the same) notification for the past four hours! I can’t even get my husband to correspond with me that frequently! Starting from 11:30pm, to now after 3:30am, Maytag is letting me know that my Appliance Software Update was successful! Great! But this old hag doesn’t give a flying rat’s backside that it was successful! I like starring alongside Channing Tatum in my dreams’ own versions of Magic Mike, thank you very much. So do me a solid, and get your app and notifications under control, so I can get the bags under my eyes to do the same, mmmkay, Pumpkin? Thanks!

Not worth the aggravation. Would be a great app if it worked. Just bought our washer and dryer in March and immediately started using this app. From my understanding it is free for the first few months. After that you must pay for it. I will not be paying for it and using it anymore. As after awhile it stops working and you must delete the app completely and re-download it again and again. Again, if I didn’t have to do that I would pay for the service and have this on my phone.

Disappointed. Recently replaced an LG front load with this machine. Chose the Maytag top load because of its capacity and not wanting to deal with the mildew issues of front loads. I am not happy at all with this purchase. Items do not come out clean, fabric softener tray dumps softener as soon as you close the drawer instead of at the appropriate time and easily goes out of balance. Most recently confirmed my dissatisfaction when freshening towels by washing with 1/4 C baking soda and 1 C vinegar. I had 6 bath towels in this 5.3 cubic Ft machine, on the towel setting with extra power on. When the cycle completed, there was still baking soda on the side of the tub and in the towels. Also having issues with the control panel and just getting the machine to simply turn on. Such an overpriced, over rated washer and I would not recommend this to anyone and highly regret purchasing for myself!!!

Maytag commercial washing machine from Home Depot. Home Depot is not the problem. Maytag is the problem. This washing machine hasn’t worked properly since the moment I hooked it up. It won’t fill then the agitator just spins with no water in it. I’ve spent hours trying different settings to get it to work right. Waiting for it to get returned and I’ll buy a different brand. I’ll never be buying Maytag again. I wish companies made “dumb” machines that were t relying on a computer or wifi connection to download an update…feels like I’m waiting for my game to finish downloading before I can wash clothes. Please make a dumb mechanical washing machine with a few options.

Old app was great— new update is awful. I loved the older version of the app. They recently updated it and it has many bugs. I have to consistently delete the app and re-download it for it to work properly. I have tried just signing out and back in to fix problems, but that doesn’t help. I will open the app and it wont show the information for my washer and dryer, but when I re-download the app it does. It also does not let me remotely control my washer/dryer anymore (yes, remote enable is on on both devices as well as my phone, and the WiFi is properly connected). I’m hoping they come out with a new update that helps fix these bugs.

App Fee$. I am very pleased with my top load washer and dryer. I have been using Maytag washer and dryers for years. I am not pleased with the monthly prescription fee to use the Bluetooth. Doesn't make senses to charge I have to manually load the machine anyway. Set the wash time and settings and I'm good to go for free. They should tell you there is a prescription fee for WiFi when you purchase it. Or there than that 4 stars.

Buggy. Previous version was great, this one - is buggy, despite of all recent updates. It disconnects quite often, it sends same notifications several times, it doesn’t allow to see device status, unless you uninstall and reinstall App. Not sure what is happening, but this App definitely screwed up.

Maytag washer. Great app and a great washing machine! Extremely happy with the purchase.

Barely works. This app is a big disappointment! Have to uninstall and reinstall the app every week or two because it stops showing machine status. When it “stops working” the only thing I get are load completion notices, but I can’t see the current status of the machine or use the app to start loads. This shouldn’t be a difficult fix, so I can only assume that Maytag doesn’t intend to fix it. Would have bought a different brand had I known that app was garbage.

Not well thought out. The app is buggy. Worst thing is that it keeps kicking me out and to reconnect is a nightmare. Add to that the fact that the washer and dryer themselves are terrible in quality and features. If you can, stay away from all things Maytag.

Bug et encore des bugs. J’aime bien l’appli mais celle-ci bug encore et encore. Good Idea, Bad Execution. The idea of the app is good. Control your washer from your phone, and get notifications when things are done. Unfortunately, the app is quite glitchy. Often times when trying to change a setting (like from low to high heat), the setting will just revert back to the original right after I change it. Quite frustrating to go back and forth multiple times. The last 3 times I went to schedule my washer to start at a certain time in the future. I’ll select “start in 8 hours” and then confirm it. Then all of a sudden, I realize the wash has already begun? I have to cancel it and then re set the timer. Usually it works the second or third time. The remote enable setting is annoying as well. I wish that I could have it always enabled, rather than having to click it every time I turn on the washer or even open the lid to add clothes. The one positive thing is getting a notification once it’s done!! That part has worked flawlessly so far.

Très pratique. Application très pratique surtout pour se faire notifier quand le cycle de lavage ou de séchage est terminé. Le guide des taches est aussi bien car il permet de démarrer un type de lavage selon des types de taches. Je ne l’ai pas essayé encore mais cela a l’air bien.

Manque d’eau. On a beau demander le maximum d’eau , la laveuse commence à brasser ben avant d’avoir de l’eau et brisé mon linge 😡 Je ne recommande pas cette sorte de laveuse à mon pire ennemi

Awful app. It disconnects from my washing machine at least once a week, and then even after I set it up again it still won’t update on the remaining cycle time or give me notifications that the load is done. Either says “reconnect” or “start new cycle”. I never leave app reviews but this one sucks

Barely works. The app never shows status when info to look at my appliances and when I try to refresh or sign out gives back an error message. At least the notifications work.

Can’t add if you live in Canada?. Can’t add my appliances because the app doesn’t recognize postal code for Canada. Only allows for numbers to be entered. Country is correct still only allows for zip numbers no letters.

Updated app is terrible. I have had nothing but problems with the updated app. It seems to only work when I uninstall it then re install. Now with saying that it will only work for a week or two then same steps I need to do all over again. It takes forever to load and shows nothing. The old one always showed my washer and dryer that if I needed to fluff up clothes I could by using the app. I never had a problem with the old app.

After over a year it works. After over one year Maytag it finally appears that Maytag has fixed their app. So now I don’t have to delete the app every few weeks to get it to work. Maytag only gets 3 stars from me because the app although now working fine it took them over a year to fix it after being repeatedly told by numerous users of the problem. Useless app if you are not home. This is the first load I’m using the app I downloaded and set up. The app was very easy to use however, the machine will not turn on unless someone is actually beside the washer to push the start button. This app at this point and time is completely useless. I’m hoping Maytag actually read these posts so that they can make the app work whenever there is no one home to press that start button. Maytag you have really let me down!!!!!

New Version Won’t Open. I’ve used this for over a year with few problems except I had to re-Install it occasionally. Now it won’t open on my phone so I can’t use it. I am very upset and disappointed. I would like to go back to a previous version. I’ve downloaded other apps with no problems so it seems there is a problem with this new Maytag version for some users. Anyway I’ve been fighting with this for a month and I’m fed up!

I would give zero if I could. This app is terrible. I can’t even sign out to be able to use it. I have to uninstall and reinstall every time I run the washer/dryer. Clunky and unreliable. Washer and dryer become unlinked randomly and the instructions to reconnect them only work some of the time.

Worst app I’ve used. I have connected the app to my washer and it stops working. It half displays that I have an appliance (picture is distorted & buttons don’t display their purpose). I’ve reconnected multiple times. I have 4 routers in a mesh system that provide coverage all over my house and outside yet this is the only device that doesn’t connect or loses connection.

Time options. I wish I had a 30 min cycle from start to finish !

Buggy. Super buggy. Kept sending me software update notifications until I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to stop. Also occasionally won’t show me any appliances when I open it and I have to do the same thing. Maybe getting rid of automatic login will help but seriously annoying either way.

Doesn't work. Added my washer and dryer successfully according to the machines but they don't show up . Emailed for support and the said delete app and reinstall but still can't get the appliances to show up .

Can no longer connect to network. It was going great for a week and now it’s disconnected from the network. The instructions tell me to hold down the Remote Enable button to clear previous connection before reinstalling the connection. First of all… Why is disconnected? And secondly… when I follow instruction to clear the connection nothing happens.

Too complicated!!. Too complicated. This washer and dryer was sold to my father-in-law who passed away before the unit was delivered.My wife and I inherited it delivered to our door brand new. There is no way my father-in-law would’ve been able to figure this out and control it with his phone, why he was sold this unit I cannot understand. The paper instruction manual is minimal.I have been literally registering creating passwords and setting up Wi-Fi for 2 hours. I was not able adjust the soap with out using the app. I have more complaints but I am worried this review won’t be posted.

Would not recommend!!!. I have a washer and dryer and they both drop out of the Maytag app regularly. Reconnecting them is next to impossible and tech support virtually non existent. Between the terrible performance of the machines and the super frustrating app I will not buy Maytag again.

App isn’t great. I’ve had my washer and dryer for nearly 2 years. The remote feature to turn my washer and dryer on and off did not work in the app. I eventually had to uninstall the app and re-reset my account before finally getting it to work. This was also after having a very difficult time getting in touch with someone from Maytag to help me. I guess we will see how this works out…

Needs “unbalanced load” message. This app is pretty good - I use the “laundry is clean” notification to tell a kid to move laundry along. But - it needs an additional notification - unbalanced load. I have the “error notification” option switched on and I don’t get a message when the washer stops because of an unbalanced load.

Horrible. I bought the washer for the delay start option. Sorry to learn that I needed Bluetooth app to use. Downloaded and found that my remote enable option was locked and that I could not use. Of course there was no way to unlock it on app or on machine. Called service, waited 22 minutes for the call to go through. Was told that the new ( I just downloaded a new update) would be sent to my machine. Came and my remote enable connection is still locked. I don’t have 20 more minutes to wait on hold. So frustrating and Maytag is so terrible to work with.

Non stop notifications. I started getting Appliance Software Updates overnight & they’ve become non stop. I’m getting a notification every like 30 seconds. Please make it stop. Turning off the notifications for now, but I’d like to be able to actually use this app. It barely works as is. It doesn’t show load progress, but it is nice to get a notification when the load is done (when that works- sometimes that doesn’t even work).

Nice App!. When we purchased the new washer and dryer, I kind of scoffed at the idea of using the Maytag app. Was I mistaken! Had some free time two months ago, so downloaded the app and set it up on our network. Very easy setup. I see some users questioned the personal data the account needs. This is similar information submitted with warranties, so no big deal. We have been using the app after each wash/dry. The units are so efficient they finish way sooner than our 25+ year old washer and dryer. The “Your clothes are clean/dry” alert is very helpful. Appreciate the work the developer has done on the app!

Please fix this app. I agree with the other review regarding this app. It’s great until it stops working, which is way too often. Usually it will work after it has been deleted and reloaded. Today however, I have deleted, reloaded and it still just spins.

Update destroyed this app!. This app has been working very well for me for the past few months. There was absolutely no complaints but then some bright person decided to upgrade it and change things and now I can’t even login let alone get it to work correctly. Used to be awesome, not so much anymore. Since some update they did, it doesn’t work at all. It’s completely pointless actually. The screen is missing text and you can no longer do it from the app. Used to be able to run the dryer an additional cycle straight from my phone but now it doesn’t allow it. Wish they would have never done the update. Before the update I would have given 5 stars, but now since the app is worthless it gets 2.

Please PLEASE fix the app!. I love the convenience of this app..... when it works... it will work for a couple of days, then just freezes or won’t connect (not sure what proper term is) I have to delete the app and reinstall about 2 or 3 times a week. Easy to use, helpful reminders. The reminders for when clothes are ready are helpful, and I like being able to turn on the wrinkle prevent feature remotely if I get too busy to take the clothes out of the dryer immediately!

Very pleased with purchase and function.. We had the Maytag Neptune for almost 20 years. We were sorry to get rid of it and were concerned with reading some of the 1/5 reviews. Thus far we are really loving our new washer/dryer! WiFi connection required several steps, but otherwise the machines are better than we expected.

Nice App. I do like this app because it lets me know when it’s finished washing so when I am away from home I can remind my daughter to put the load in the dryer. However, it would be amazing if the app could let me know what cycle it is on because sometimes I want to pause the wash cycle to let the load soak for a bit. Also, I love the delay start feature on this machine!

WORKED FINE NOW BOOM NOTHING. I love this app for the first three months then boom nothing. My Maytag app just keeps spinning trying to find my WiFi. Which I have great WiFi. I’m not even near the end of my trial period where I would have to start paying for the app monthly. I was going to pay for the app monthly but now I probably won’t if this doesn’t resolve itself soon. It’s been three weeks already I can’t connect. I tried unplugging both washer and dryer still not working. UGH. So frustrating.

Notification overload. Apparently my washer got a software update and is back online. Ow. I know this because the app pushed over 30 notifications this morning. Obviously I have now turned off notifications. But now I can’t figure out why I’d want the app. The only useful feature I see is the buzz notification on my phone telling me my load is finished and then I should walk down to the basement.

Awesome washer and dryer. we’ve had this washer and dryer for a year, they work very well clean the clothes, and I love the fact that I can use them from my phone and set a time for them to turn on and turn off. I can also turn on to fluff them on my way home from work via my phone on the Maytag app.

Meh. When the so ap works, it’s great, but both my washer and dryer are constantly disconnecting. I know it’s not my wifi as there are other appliances in the same room that I use just as much and they have no connectivity issues. The ap frequently sits and spins, doing nothing until I forget or my phone times out. Days that I’m in luck and everything is working I get way more laundry done because I’m notified the cycles are done or can extend dry times without going to the laundry room.

App works great for the dryer, not the washer. I can save the dryer settings no problem. But, the washer settings won’t save. This isn’t good because my washer & dryer are in the basement. When the washer cycle gets interrupted, I don’t know. Then way later, when I think the washer cycle is done, I see an error message & I am so frustrated. I’ve signed out & all & nothing fixes the issue.

1 yr mark. I love the feature I could start the washer from my phone yet half the time it is spent disabling itself or just not working properly to begin with smart design but this thing has been malfunctioning here lately a lot and it’s a yr or less old and cost me nearly 1000 dollars I could have spent a little more money and got me a speed queen.

Maytag. Great staff. They were patient and able to get the connection made. Only downside is that you need to remember to enable the remote when you shut the door or it won’t work. Maybe you could add that to the app in case you forget.

Maytag 8630 washer dryer WiFi. Just got washer 8630 and dryer 8630 installed WiFi (for some reason didn’t want to accept the WiFi password the first attempt but did on the second set up attempt), I like the WiFi capability as it displays when the cycle has been completed but found it a bit difficult to navigate. I’m sure it’s the learning curve and I’ll do better with it in time.

Warning - $.99/month PER Appliance. I clearly did not do enough research on the newer model of my beloved Maytag washer at my old house. I had no clue this had remote capability upon purchase but was like okay cool when discovering after installation. Downloaded the app and it took me two separate tries, a new account and over a half hour just to log in. Buyer beware, Maytag charges $.99 a month per an appliance for the privilege to use their buggy app. It won’t keep me logged in either. My LG kitchen appliances have an app that works flawlessly and does not charge me.

paid app to run appliances I just paid $1600 for?. I stopped when I saw that I had to pay for the app. Read the reviews and it seems like it’s got lots of complaints and a string of boilerplate responses from the company. Would like to ensure that I’m comfortable with the terms & conditions, and then I may do the trial, but it really is irritating that they charge customers who’ve just spent a lot of money already. if they lose one skeptical potential customer how many app subscriptions do they have to sell to make up for it? Can’t imagine it’s worth it.

App tries to collect a ton of personal data.. Typical big business trying to scoop up a ton of personal data. Name, address, phone number, email, device location. None of this is at all relevant to the task of washing clothes in a machine. Downloaded this app only because my Maytag washer is crapping out after less than a year and won’t spin clothes. Instead of wasting my time time filling in personal info you should focus on making a washer that can last for more than 12 months.

Eh. This app is not very useful. I used it to create favorite cycles but still have to turn on machine and then enable at the machine each use before I can trigger a favorite from my app… plus if u enable then lift lid to add item u have to reenable… not really worth the few at machine clicks the favorites save you, due to steps to use app. I have appliance apps with other brands where once I connected to Wi-Fi I never have to touch appliance. That is what I was expecting. Disappointing.

I love my Maytag. After I put in a load to wash it dry- I love that option it tells me when it’s done. We have a big family and we’re able to use this app to get more done. I like being able to start the washer esp after I put dirty clothes in when it’s available for me. I enjoy and encourage you to get a Maytag today!

Tired of deleting the app. About every 2 weeks I have to delete the app and re-install it because it can’t connect to the washer and dryer. This NEVER happened before then you guys “updated” the app. For example I did was on Sunday, app worked fine now 2 days later I had to reinstall. I know the appliances are online because as soon as I reinstall the app, the time remaining shows. I shouldn’t have to reinstall the app every time you decide to do some type of update.

Subscription and Personal Info to Use Dryer. I can hear it now, “well we need the fees to keep the app running”. $800 and I’m paying monthly for a feature listed at the time of purchase with no mention of subscription. I’m not paying my dryer $12 a year so it can tell me when my laundry is dry. Make the money off of advertising your own products and your brand? The registration is ridiculous. You don’t need all of my info. If my printer works flawless via Bluetooth without creating an account, you can do it too. I need a password, email, address, etc so my dryer can tell me when the clothes are dry? Delete.

What’s the point of the “custom cycle” of it can’t be used?. I followed all the instructions. The washer said to use the app to set custom cycles, which I needed to do for a heating blanket. I got everything connected to the app & it works, but there is no “custom cycle” option anywhere in the app. I can’t find anything online about how to access the custom cycle option & the “help” videos I’ve found only show how use the app with every other cycle option but custom.

Has to be reinstalled every two weeks. It’s like after two weeks your login token is expired and the app can’t handle it, just displays blank information. Can’t log out can’t do anything. Have to uninstall, reinstall and then you can log back in and have the app work for another two weeks. Similar think with Alexa integration, every two weeks it’s “this looks like your first time” no I’ve been using this for a year, so frustrating.

Great app but wish it had two way connectivity. The connectivity to the Maytag washer and dryer makes my life much simpler. An Addison to the app I would like to see is the ability to remotely continue a cycle by adding more time to the dryer or run a rinse cycle on the washer. That would make the app perfection.

Disappointing. I get random notifications that the machine has been enabled or disabled when no one is even using it. I cannot change my notifications settings to turn that one off. It says I don’t have sufficient privileges. My husband and I both have the app and he is able to shut his off. I emailed for help and all they said was to uninstall and reinstall and I had already done that.

Easy to use. As a full time self employed barber, full time mom, wife, and all around busy person; this app is for me! It helps me keep laundry going, know when it is done, or if it has become unbalanced. 10/10 recommend. I’m also partial to Maytag products. They have always done well for my family.

Very broken. After a while, the app stops working and needs to be deleted and reinstalled. To add to the pain, it doesn’t use the iPhones password storage, so I have to memorize the password. This is a known problem, but is apparently not a very high priority for them to fix. Also, it’s unclear how the customer cycles work and whether they replace existing cycles on the machines, or add to them. Sadly, documentation is no longer a thing.

Disappointed. I have to install and reinstall the app every other use, because it stops connecting. I have been waiting on Maytag to fix my washing machine for over a year now, to no avail. It is not able to connect properly to the app and I’m only able to use it with my dryer. Very disappointed in this feature, as it has not worked from the beginning of owning the machines and maytag has been very unresponsive in helping me get the machine fixed.

Our Maytag washer.. We bought our Maytag washer about a year ago, and we like it very much. The only problem is since I am a blind person. The app for the washer makes it very difficult to change the temperature the soil level the spin speed we have been talking to Maytag to try to get them to change some of those, but it’s still a problem. I wanna be able to change the settings just like anyone else. Otherwise connecting it to Wi-Fi works really well.

Pride & Joy. I love this washer because unlike the washer without an agitator this washer doesn’t bang off the inside walls every time I do a load of clothes. Also, I used to wash clothes every other day now if the need arises I can wait 2weeks to build up enough clothes, towels, or other load(s) of washable because the drum is so much bigger!

Love this app. I was able to run an update to my washer with it. I had been having issues with the deep fill function on the washer at first, before registering my new appliance with Maytag on the app, but after the update it saved me a service call. Love it!! Thank you!!

My only gripe is with Notifications. For example: I would prefer to not receive notifications about my Parents laundry from the Maytag washer or dryer when I’m not at my Parents House. There should be a setting to toggle / mute notifications of the Maytag app when you’re not connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the washer or dryer. Also should add an option to allow notifications within a certain GPS radius of the Maytag devices.

Needs an Update. Love the app overall but think it needs an update right now. I can’t seem to use it. I can’t click out beyond the home screen. I love the ability to use this app so much that I definitely noticed when it’s down or buggy. Please fix!!! It’s been almost 2 months now.

Non-stop spinning. This app screwed up my washer. I paused my load remotely and it ended up messing with the cycle. Now it won’t stop spinning until I pause it manually. So when i pause it, the Water comes out for 2 seconds and continues spinning. I left the load alone and wouldn’t stop spinning for almost an hr when i checked on the load. Deleting my washer off the app helped but now the washer won’t wash. It just keeps adding water after stopping for a minute. Washer officially useless

My Machines are great but…. they will not stay connect to this app. My machines are offline more than they are connected. Sometimes they stay connected for days. Sometimes they go on and offline several times a day. I feel that this is technology that was introduced before all the bugs were worked out.

Must pay to use after trial. So I thought hey this will be a really neat feature to use the app. So you go through setup and agreements for them to gather your info and sell it all then to be asked to sign up for the trial and then be charged to use the app. I’m sorry that’s a no! After you are going to gather and sell my info and usage and profit from that but I have to pay for your app to use my wifi and my washer; no thanks. I feel that this is something that should have been built in to the overall price.

Inexcusable. When the dryer is started, it can be set to run for an hour or longer. But the sensor keeps shutting it off after less than 5 minutes. It says the clothes are dry but they haven’t even begun to dry. It does this no matter what setting it’s on. We had a serviceman come out to look at it and he said it’s working as designed (ie, no malfunction). He said according to EPA regulations, all appliances are now required to be in compliance with climate change policies. So in effect, they’re trying to take us back to the stone age.

App disconnects. The app regularly disconnects one or the other of my washer & dryer. The other is still connected so it’s not a wifi issue and it’s not always the same one. I am also not able to start a new cycle right after one has ended. So when I have bulky items in the dryer and know it needs to go longer I can’t restart it from the app. Defeats the purpose of me wanting the wifi connected appliances.

New Version is Horrible. This was a great App before they changed the look and feel, but it has been horrid since the change. Frequently hangs, often does not display the current status, and the “waiting circle of death” is the most common screen displayed. What was once a great App is now almost unusable.

New Update is Awful. When Maytag overhauled their app about a month ago, I was excited for the updated and modern look of the app. I was quick to find that the app is only visually appealing and does not work. I will use the app one day and try to login to access my dryer the next and it won’t load. Screen stays blank. I have to uninstall and reinstall and then my remote enable is shut off. This defeats the entire purpose of having a connected appliance. Thankfully I am still in my trial period but I will not be paying 99¢ a month for an app that doesn’t work! Get it together Maytag!!!

The Beat Washer My Husband Purchased!!. We wanted a washer without and agitator and we got the best washer out there. Remote start, scheduled washes and you can even set and save favorite washes for each family member. How cool is that? Technology has come so far and I’m glad to be able to own a great washer in my home. Next, a new and updated Maytag Dryer coming soon!!

What’s the point?. The app worked great when we first got our new dryer in March, but since the app updated it will no longer connect, even though it still sends me notifications. I probably won’t be purchasing it when the free trial runs out because what’s the point when it won’t even work? There are so many recent negative reviews pointing out this problem over the past two months and it STILL isn’t fixed. What’s the deal?

I like it!. I don’t understand why there are complaints about connection issues. The set up took me no more then 5 min for my washer & dryer. The only feedback I have is that I cannot turn off the machines remotely and I have enable remote on the appliances each time
