🥴. This app, overall is a good app but if you’d not willing to pay, don’t download it. When you first download the app they’ll make you rate the app before you do anything....they don’t even mention that you have to pay. When I got to the end of the tutorial on how to use the app, they finally show something that says that I have to pay....it’s not much, I believe it was $3.99, but just for people out there trying to make a vhs video, but your not willing to pay, don’t download it.

Say no to the subscription model.. App is decent at best. I have an issue with some basic features being locked behind a subscription. None of them are marked as being premium, only popping up a garish ad demanding one subscribe to unlock said features when tapping on them. I’d gladly pay a one time price for it but there is little here that has enough value to warrant a monthly fee for.

Amazing. The app has many effects to choose from. It even has a friendly interface. Not too complicated to start learning how to properly use every feature. Really cant wait to see the outcome of future projects with this app!

Disappointing. It would be a cool app if it let you do what it looks like it can at first. You can only do anything if you make in app-purchases. You can not take a video from you camera roll and put the filter over it unless you make a purchase. And the video taking in the app completely doesn’t work and it doesn’t save any of the videos I take only pictures. I’m disappointed in this app due to the fact that I can’t do anything with it at all. THE VIDEOS DONT SAVE TO ANYTHING AT ALL!

Best vhs app out there hands down. Every other app is a minimum of 7 dollars a week for a dumb membership but this one doesn’t have a membership, its leagues ahead of other vhs apps in both ability and the fact it’s free.

Best VHS app out there. Honestly for all apps I think more than most of the time do better if they're free like this one. I pre-ordered this one and I'm glad I did before I spent $5 on something I'll only use once in awhile. I think there should be some more effects the rest seems amazing.

Classic. This is a Good & Fun app more filters would be nice. Besides The ones that are there. Fun if you want to mess around with your videos just a tiny bit. VHS Does not have a bundle of editing features at moment so you’ll have to make due. Oh well.. *for the developers * the music adding feature for slideshows doesn’t not work at the moment.

Great App!. So I just started using this app, and it’s one of my favorite video editor apps. Now I can make retro videos, and I love you don’t need to pay to use some filters, it’s all completely free and I’m thankful for that! I think that no changes need to be made to this app, it’s perfect!

Love it! But needs a little work. 1- when you take a photo on the app and import it to photos it saves over white. Not a big issue but it kinda annoying especially when you take a photo at night. 2- the glitches on the video when recording are kinda very fake and cheap looking Other than that really good! Keep up the good work!!! ❤️

Awesome but could be better. I really like this app and I love that it’s free and doesn't make you buy a subscription PLEASE keep it like this it would be nice if you could switch the place of a video when making a slide show though

Super awesome!!!. I have soooooo much I love about this app! First of all, it’s nice not to download something and then see you have to pay for 99% of the app once you get it. I enjoy getting the whole app. Also all the filters are amazing! I really like anything old and it’s fun to make my videos look authentic and like their from forever ago when I just recorded them minutes before. It’s really nice to be able to mess with RGB and contrast too, those add an important and nice touch. I could keep going for hours about how much I love this app, but I’ll stop now.

Immediately asks for Payment. I understand, if you like the asthenic, you can pay for it. I couldn’t even sample this app before they asked for me to pay. Why not just have the price at the App Store up front? To answer that question, because few people would pay for this, when there are so many other ways to get this aesthetic to videos. It’s classic “throw your money away” so we can make a quick buck shenanigans. I respect their shady tactics, but will not give them a dime of further revenue. I suggest you do the same.

music glitch. absolutely LOVE the app, but the only thing i’m having trouble with is adding my own music to it. i click on the tab to add music and when i go to my apple music to add the track that i want, it wont select the song that i’m wanting - or any song for that matter. please fix this. other than that, i’m impressed with this app!

I just got it and I love it. I pre-ordered this app because it looked so cool. I just got it like 10 minutes ago and i’ve been messing around with it. the features for this free app are so nice. Some other VHS apps that you have to pay for aren’t even as great as this one. I love it.

Good but doesn’t save. I just got the app and it’s exactly what I have been looking for. Only problems I’m having is trying to save a slideshow and only being able to pic 5 videos to add to it. I keep trying to press the check mark to save my slideshow but it’s unresponsive but other than that this app is really cool.

Great!. I record a lot of videos and I’m always trying to find that simple app that is always At hand. I love the old school vibes it gives and also always you to upload and edit videos you have in your library. I hope it only get better I look forward to reviewing more and seeing other great apps from this developer if these are as good as all their apps will be!

Wish I Could Edit Photos With This App. I had been hoping that this app would allow me to overlay the effects it provides on Live photos or still photos, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. Other than that it's got a lot of cool effects and a very cute vintage UI. Good for making VHS spoof videos on the spot. I wish the UI was scaled up for iPad, but other than that it's been fun playing with the videos in their existing library.

Major Thing. I hate how you have to pay for everything, I just wanna use a free vhs app not a app where it constantly begs me to give it money, I don’t like how you have to pay money even if you wanna just have a simple vhs effect on a recording! It’s outrageous and I don’t think it’s worth it, I don’t like the apps that only want money out of it. That’s my opinion, I think the effect is good it’s just the way it’s designed is terrible. I love this app!. The app sound (static) is a tad loud but once you're in the app it goes away after a few seconds. This app gave me a wonderful nostalgic feeling! It's interesting how much joy I get with the effects of this app. Back in the day, I would be highly annoyed by these same effects on a tape! Thanks for this app!

Overall good. I love the attention to detail. Though it may not be perfect, perfection is impossible. I really appreciate the multiple different camera filter modes as well as the adjustability. I also love that when I listen to music in this app, there’s even a filter for that! Great job all around! 👍

4.99 a month for all the features? Why?. This app isn’t bad, in fact, it’s one of the better apps for this sub genre of apps. But, when you are trying to get all of the features, one of which is importing a video, the price you have to pay is ridiculous. I know app developers might want to make money, but this is just too much. A reasonable price would be a one time purchase of 4.99, I don’t know why it’d need to be a subscription. Almost every app with in-app purchases uses subscriptions, and they are most likely all overpriced. So, if the developer of this app is reading this, please don’t use subscriptions, consumers of these apps aren’t going to pay this ridiculous price.

I have to convert a ratio to fit on it. When I started to import a video, it wouldn’t let me do that because I have to get a premium version of it which would be yearly. Whenever I tried to restore it, it said that purchase is respires since the last time in 2021 and that’s the year we’re in. Mom would like to try buying the premium version in order to import videos which is why I choose effects. When I changed effects, they’re so bad because I don’t like this decision. I chose the effect so it can be better. The more videos convert, the less videos play. I couldn’t see that because I checked the effects and they’re all changed. When I changed the date and format and font, I did this correctly. One thing that we can do is it would be to export this video. Thank you so much!

gooood. i barely got the app today but so far it’s super good! everything is free. the only problem that i wish they could fix is the part where you can pick music from your playlist in iTunes, i don’t know for sure but for some reason it’s doesn’t play it but in other words it’s a good app:)

5 stars so far. The app seems pretty well at the moment. There aren’t any saving charges and there are 8 different filters you can use! And customize glitch. Only thing it doesn’t have the “aesthetic” date for under the camera. Very good

Great but needs work. Ok, it’s a cool effect. However, it’s a bit too much. You can change between the effect styles and make minor adjustments to the color and glitch, but it’s not enough. I wish I could lessen the effect of the noise and the wavy glitching more because it makes it annoying to playback. But it gets 4 stars cause of its ease of use! Great app, needs minor improvements.

One of the Most Dope VHS/Glitch App You Can Find!. I’ve downloaded a bunch of VHS apps to shoot some pho-vintage projects over the last few years and I can definitely say that this is one of the best ones I’ve gotten my hands on yet if you’re looking for that perfect glitchy-vhs app without the hassle of needling to make a bunch of extra in-app purchases. For anyone that has the same love for making nostalgic and glitchy media projects via iPhone, this is a pretty great tool to have in your VHS/Glitch app Arsenal. Most of us have countless different apps to get the desired effect we want because one app has something another doesn’t and most of the VHS/Vintage glitch apps are trash... NOT this one though! I pre-ordered this one and couldn’t wait for it to come out, honestly I was a little skeptical because if anyone else knows vhs/glitch apps like I do, you know most of them are far from what we are looking for... not to mention the fact you get very little to work with without making a bunch of in-app package purchases ((and even with the package purchases, it’s not what we want, it’s usually just the same try-hard filters with different names...)) this one though, this one is really dope and dependable when you learn how to use it! It offers so many different effects you don’t have to waste your time or money on because they’re already there and so simple to use! Definitely a must-have! I can’t say enough good things about it! :)

Ughh. I downloaded the app thinking it would be better than the other vhs apps, and it was even worse. I was not able to do anything on the app, except stare at it, without purchasing the premium. A watermark is fine if you don’t go premium, but just completely not letting you use the app after talking highly of it, is not ok. Definitely would not recommend if you are looking for a FREE vhs recording and editing app.

awesome app but.... i rather buy the extra stuff in one purchase only rather than buying it monthly or annually, dont get me wrong the filter and stuff is mad cool but the fact that u buy the full premium stuff for like 3 bucks each month is gonna keep building up. I’m app fees. You could lesser the price monthly o aa special while increasing the size of screen for the film viewfinder on the iPhone screen. Include time date as well as regular date and year. New filters too. Maybe think of adding stickers if you dare.

It’s not terrible. If you are looking for a novelty effect, this is a decent app. Here’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars: 1. You should have more control over the individual effects. Not just a “glitch” and mysterious “+”, “-“ slider. 2. Speaking of sliders, it is extremely difficult to target the slider control widget. It needs to be bigger. It’s very frustrating when you keep dragging on a control, wondering why the app froze, because nothing is happening! 3. It offers only 16:9, 1:1, and 9:16 aspect ratios, none of which are the 4:3 aspect ratio of actual VHS! I mean, that’s the name of the app! Perhaps these are features in a “Pro” version, but this version only deserves 3 stars.

Closes out on some videos. I’m disappointed whether charged or not some of the videos I want can’t get it shutdowns there is a video with basketballs first 1 black background and I can’t get it on pixababy so I can’t get all that I’m looking for here I really wanted to be able to use them for some work I’m. Doing I’m not sure either why I can’t get the right colors as well when I adjust I also hope the quality can improve on some of the videos too

Great, but.... This is a really great app, but there are some issues and also some suggestions. For one, vhs cameras shoot in a 4:3 aspect ratio and not in 16:9, and an option to switch to that would be great. Also on some of the videos it makes it a complete black screen. The overall interface is easy to use and the screen effects are stellar, and some more audio effects would be a cool addition to add in the future.

BEST VHS APP YET!!!!!!!!!. So this is is amazing. The video includes a date at the bottom. The video effects are amazing. But while you video it looks like a true vhs recorder. I truly love it. And I truly think you should get it if you are thinking about having a vhs recording app.

Just Right. The app is quick and easy to use. It really gives me an oldies feel with a smidge if today in it. I really recommend this app. It’s free and easy to use. All the effects are already there for you to use. Just add a video and tap any effect 1-8 to layer on top of it.

GREAT APP!! But.... I love the cool filters on the app and definitely recommend downloading it! It’s only flaws are that you cannot edit photos on it and the sound effect is horrific. Every time I open the app I happen to have my earphones in and the shrill background sound is so annoying! There is a way to turn it off which I just found, but I say it would be better without any noise in the first place. I still love everything else about it though🤩

I make edits on instagram and it’s hard to find mobile apps that give aesthetically pleasing video affects so I really liked this app. Things I would improve: for some reason I can’t figure out how to edit the date stamp. and even more affects would be cool 😌 but it’s free so I’m not complying 🤪

Release Version. iPhone 7+ I was very excited for the VHS App to release. It’s about time there was a decent analog video distortion emulator for iPhone. Overall this a very good app and will benefit from future improvements. Overall, the quality of a video saved to your camera roll from VHS App is worthy as a substitute to expensive After Effects filters. Worth your money. As a career video engineer, there are a few elements of analog video distortion I would love to have implemented but like I mentioned earlier- I look forward to future versions. Congratulations to the creators. BUT! The effect controls may freeze if you step out and back into the app. 4.5 stars if I could- that one little bug!

7$ A WEEK???. Looking at the past positive reviews, it seems like this app used to be free. They don’t even have a premium option with some effects free to use. If you want to use this app at all, you HAVE to subscribe for 7$ a week or 15$ a month. I’m not sure how this all started, but I miss when apps used to be 3-4$ and then you could keep it. Now they’re insisting on 7-8$ PER WEEK! It’s ridiculous. Absolutely worth it. 1$ a day to use a single photo effects app? No thanks.

Defective App. Was working wonderfully last night, I uploaded many videos on LINE and Instagram. Then this morning it stopped working completely. Cuts out any music that’s playing in the background, thereby rendering the app completely useless. Unless, of course, making silent faux VHS videos is a thing? Which it’s not, it will never be. Cuts out the creativity aspect completely. Cannot recommend.

Simple; has potential. Simple and effective, easy to tinker with easy sliders for each effect.. a few suggestions; would be nice to be able to save presets for each effect, so as to apply the same filter to multiple similar videos etc. also maybe allow a vertical GUI, other than that great job for what is advertised

Crashes every time I try to import slow motion videos. Looks cool but still crashing when I tried to load videos in slow motion, hope they fix this kind of bugs.

TOO EXPENSIVE. $4.99 A WEEK????? Paying for a subscription is ridiculous enough and expensive, but it is a weekly subscription!! This is way too expensive for any app not just this one. Nothing is usable without paying this ridiculous fee. If you download the app hoping to be able to at least record a video using the effect, you cannot. Having the app is literally pointless if you do not subscribe. There is literally nothing you can do with this app until you have subscribed. This app is NOT worth the weekly subscription, if anything it should be a yearly subscription. Honestly, it should just be a one time payment and not this expensive. Don’t waste your money.

Ok here’s my 2 cents. First of all very cool all the features you included. Kudos to the great work. But few things to work on I have seen in other viewers: + No play symbol usually vhs has that at the beginning play, rec etc. + the date looks fake. I think the font costs money which is probably why you didn’t do it but it can be replicated in photoshop. Maybe hire someone on reddit in the cheap work section? + The sound at the beginning is a little obnoxious and loud. Maybe lower it a tad or just put the sound of static or a recorder getting loaded? The off button works but I wouldn’t mind sound if it wasn’t so LOUD. + the glitches are cool but you are missing a few. The seperated rgb. Let us put in several types of glitches? Instead of all the filters with the glitches..put the filters and let us add 1 or 2 glitches at a time? Not sure if that’s possible but just some ideas. Besides that it seems pretty stable. The look is nice. The set up and UI is intuitive, creative and user friendly. All in all 5/5 but needs a few more things to be perfect. Thanks for the fun free app! Hope this feedback helps ❤️

This App Is Great. I'm glad that software developers have taken the time to make an emulator that renders video in old-school VHS-Style markup. The problem I have with apps like these is that I generally run out of tape, but it fits with the paradigm and the anachronistic situation you would run into with old hardware anyway, so fortunately, it works perfectly nostalgically! Great job team!

Solid so far. Good app, i hope it gets more filters though, i like E1 the most but its far to jittery for me to safely look at even at the lowest setting and i don’t really like the screen line/scan effect. Maybe release options without certain effects?

Needs a little work. This app has a lot of potential in it, just isn’t the app I’d necessarily go to if I wanted a vintage look for my videos. Love the cropping ability to fit my Snapchat and instagram but need more options also filter E3, E4 & E6 are almost if not completely unusable hopefully the creators fix this with a update soon.

The Most Approved VHS App. I am very proud of how my videos and pictures have came out of this app. I’ve downloaded many VHS apps and by far this is the most approved one. I approximately think the magnificent vintage and retro vibe I love. By my approval of this app is 5 stars by how nice really is.

I hadn’t even loaded my first video and a freaking pop up comes up asking “Are you liking the app so far? Care to give a review?” Give us a chance to try the app before you pester us for a review! So here is my review!

Different. It isn’t the same as it is in editing, compared to when you actually get the video. When you’re editing, it’s very nice, and such. But as soon as you download the video, it’s terrible. The filter is changed, sometimes even the glitch effect. Which, the app would be good if you could download the same video you actually made.

Buy thisss. It is so cool like all the filters and it even has this way to choose between Snapchat Instagram ect. And I think that is just so cool that you can choose plus the filters or so cool I love it !

VHS!!!. Finally an app that have cool and accurate effects of an old VHS Tape. This is great for photos and video. This is definitely gonna help me make some vintage videos for Instagram. Great job on the app. I highly recommend this app. Easy to use.

My money wasted. I bought this app a year ago and it was great, I loved doing vintage videos and it was fun, it didn’t have that many options but it worked just fine. But now all of the sudden it started charging me for taking videos because of some new subscription option. Would I be taking my money back? Or would it at least let me take a video?

90’ feel amazing app. This is one of my favourite apps! The effects can be used live or a previously recorded video can be selected and modified by any of the effects. And most of all them are awesome .

Blurry. Very impressed by this app and how we have the option to import from camera roll although i did notice when i saved the video to my camera roll it was very blurry. Overall great app

Needs date spoofed to 5 digits in the year timeline. So I know it has 4 digits you can go into the future too but was thinking if it could have 5 digits available in the vhs year would be better

Highly recommended. It’s a really nice app for the old school vhs effect, it’s free and allows you to upload your previously recorded videos without a water mark. I use the app to make videos for my music and it works fantastic

OK app, annoying popups. Okay, so I signed up for a free trial and the app is pretty cool except every 8 seconds or so there is a pop-up asking you to “rate” the app (hence me being here- I never rate things but this annoyed me enough that I clicked onto it to write this hahah) and that’s super annoying. Like, give me a second to even see what I think of it before you’re intrusively asking me that every 5 seconds!

Complete BS!!. This app is a complete scam!! Its posed as a free app, which is what i was looking for, to edit a moving tv static filter over my art but as soon as i downloaded the app and tried to do ANYTHING i find out that i have to start a trial that is very difficult to cancel or pay a monthly fee for an app ill barely use. While using the free trial i noticed that the quality of the videos was very shotty and often came out blurry and blue looking. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS APP!! ITS A SCAM!!

Free as in Freedom. Boom, let the Sparklers Flare ! (-: I searched "VHS VCR" on thee App Stow, and sho nuff, BOOM this freeware appeared. Ibriskly looked at it's preView, then installed. In less than a minute i had painlessly saved a small clip with the default VHSeey filter, it looks like a dying tape from back inna day. All good, no ads.

Good editor but a little hard to control. I couldn’t change the date on the picture or get the picture to change the contrast but over all it is a good app and I love using it to make my videos a little unique

Don’t buy, unless you want a Free Trial that is completely useless.. I got this app, hoping to create a good skateboarding montage. When I was finished with the tutorial, I tried to make a video but there “Free Trial” came up on every single option. That means I have to pay 8 dollars a month for something that I won’t even use for multiple videos. Moral of the story- Don’t make your app completely unusable.

Camera not opening. Love the app and it’s features but I have to say the sound at the beginning is a tad bit loud. Along with my camera not showing any picture or recording. It just stays on a black screen with a date on the bottom.

Eh. Didn’t get a chance to do anything with it. You can literally download it for free but anything beyond that costs after a 3 day trial. So I didn’t even get to mess around with it. Doesn’t appear cool enough to spend money on when I can get something like this as part of another app.

It so cool. I really like this app, from what I see it doesn’t have anything locked or you have to buy and that’s a really big thing for me because some people are poor.(not saying who) (me) But year so far so good.

This app is great, but sadly, another great app ruined by weekly subs. Probably one of the best VHS filter apps on the App Store, but this is another great idea completely RUINED by weekly subscriptions. 5 bucks a week? That’s more than 200 dollars! Please change this to a monthly subscription to like 5 bucks a month. 15 bucks a month is way too much.

You have to pay for basically everything. you have to pay for no more watermark, you have to pay to put in videos from your camera roll you have to pay for stock videos the list goes on and on, ive been trying to find a VHS editor for so long, and i thought this would be the best one but NOPE! you have to pay for everything

Free to download only. Wanted an app to timestamp and have vintage vibe to video diary. Downloaded this because it seemed to have what I was looking for. You have to pay for this, either 6.99/week, a monthly charge or a yearly charge in order to do anything. Only the first three days are free. Maybe If I could afford yet another subscription, then I’d consider it. But pass on $7/week!

Why it is great. If you want an old style types of video this is the way to go you have more then 2 filters you can tell how much glitch you want and the lighting and you can post it to any social media you have

Awesome but. The app could use more editing tools like moving the video and picture but other than that I loooveee it hahah. The developers really worked hard for this one. Great job!

Sound. I think the sound effects are cool but why does it not show up on the video ? I tried many times but there’s no sound in the video. I even tried the sound off and on icon but it still doesn’t show up on the video .

Frustrated, new customer. I was in the App Store on my iPhone and I see your app. It looked interesting until I started to install it. I thought trying it for three days would be a good idea. But then you make me jump through hoops just to try it out to see if Even works well. Too much trouble, moving on!

Annoying. Such a good app to use but it’s annoying how it bugs you to review and rate the app for every time you take a video and it tries saving it automatically. Also don’t think it saves your stuff if you delete the app and try getting it again, all my videos that I toke were gone 😢

It’s awesome!!. I pre downloaded this in like February and been waiting forever but it’s finally here and honestly I freaking love it it’s really good. I’m giving 5 stars because there are no in app purchases!!! The best VHS APP THERE IS!!!

Excellent Tool. I’ve been waiting for this App to be released. Love it. For me it’s going to be a tool to achieve a unique style when shooting and editing a video all from my phone.

It’s dope. All the stuff is so cool and u can choose the glitch effects and I used to edit with ae but I had to switch to a phone app and I needed vhs so I looked at apps this is the best one it’s almost perfect to the universe plugin on ae

Pretty bad. It doesn’t let you do ANYTHING unless you pay, if you can’t pay then I hope you have fun looking at a vhs screen because that is all you’ll be doing until you pay. It looks like if you pay then you get access to the features but it’s not even worth it! Would not recommend.

So close. Loving the look of it but having trouble selecting videos from my gallery. I chose a few to test out and there is no clear way to add more without closing the app completely.

I like it. Leaving off 1 star - because I feel there should be an effect that feels closer to a VHS tape from the time period- the effects look like what you would watch years later as the tape begins to wear down! But overall good app!!
