No App transparency and slow. As it is mandatory to use the app more transparency on usage data would be welcome. Some data is stored for 28 days, some indefinitely. The app is also very slow to load an an iPhone 12.

Cannot link Covid vaccine certificate in iPhone 6. Cannot link Covid vaccine certificate in iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.5 with the latest version Service Victoria 1.15.0. The pop up blocker in Safari is DISABLED.

Unable to link COVID vaccine certificate. Still unable to load COVID vaccine certificate on iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.5 Service Vic version 1.15.0, safari pop up allowed.

Cannot download. If you have an older phone or iOS then it’s impossible to download this app.

No digital drivers license still????. Come on, is Victoria wanting to be the last state to implement this?

Unreliable. There’s a lot to like about the SV app. It’s small, it’s fast, it works on all devices. It isn’t invasive! But, it also needs to work reliably. - The QR codes are too complex (too much data!) and so are hard to scan in anything but perfect light - The app slices are inconsistent; when they don’t appear (which is often!), the website is opened instead… and there’s no way to checkin on the website - The “skip” button on first launch doesn’t actually work

Billing problem fail. I keep getting this message that stops me from checking in anywhere: “There is a billing problem with a previous purchase” All other apps continue to work and I have already deleted, reinstalled, signed out and back in to Apple ID, added another payment method and confirmed there are no outstanding payment issues. I have no idea how to fix this sadly.

Add vax status for other people. Need to add ability to show vax status for other people who are checked in with the app in addition to the main person checking in. *** I have now had a response that the Service Victoria app is working with the Commonwealth to update the app to cater for the deficiency above. This is poor form. NSW has this all sorted on the Service NSW app. This is a poor excuse on behalf of the Service Victoria app. Having states operating like silos is a lack of can do attitude. Service Victoria app consult with Service NSW app and share between yourselves how to get a solution! Service Victoria app it just makes you look incompetent trying to be better than NSW. Just don’t be afraid to ask the question to Service NSW app and work together to find the common goal. This sort of attitude is what the Victorian and Australian population have found frustrating during the pandemic***

Working Together. COVID-19 check in is simple and efficient. Much better than the other systems in use in places like Qld and nsw who require details not required to contact trace. Only issue I can see is that there is no way to check out from a location when you leave, this is no different to the other states, however would make contact tracing much easier if this detail were collected. Perhaps enable geofencing capability so checkout can be automatic.

Check In Status. I believe everyone should check in everywhere but sadly some don’t. To help venues who are making sure people are checked in it would be good if the app had a display current check in status button which showed a big clear screen with venue name and time details etc. The history is good but not easy to check

Check-in Needs to handle couples & families. Unlike check-in apps used by some other states, you can’t record the details of family members who are regularly visiting the same venues with you. After you scan you get to tick boxes against each of the extra people and everyone’s details are submitted together. It saves time and congestion - making the process easier and therefore increasing the likelihood of compliance.

Too many glitches. I have been trying for 4 days to process a requirement but the system glitches at varying stages and saves nothing so I have to start from scratch each time. As with most things ‘Government’ a very frustrating experience I received a response to contact Vicky for assistance but out of the whole class of 20 trying to get the required WWCC none of us were successful online and gave up and went to the post office. Much easier than this app. Rating remains 1 star, app needs to be fixed

Easy to use but needs a tweak.. Easy to use but needs the option of adding extra people to the one check in. The Qld, NT and Tas apps all allow you to add extra members of your party to the check in, as well as saving their details for later. Useful if you’re taking your elderly grandmother - who doesn’t have a smart phone - shopping, or if there are several people entering a restaurant together. Reduces congestion at the QR scanning point or the manual sign in desk.

Easy to use but can I access my history of sites visited?. Easy to scan QR codes. Can’t find where -if at all- sites I have checked in to are stored in the app? Unfortunately I can’t screen shot a checkin due to broken button on phone. Also familiar with Tasmanian Govt check in app that is brilliant - stores places you have checked into in the app, and takes you to the free local wifi as soon as the app is opened.

No login req for checkin. You can checkin for contact tracing without having to login - just leave name and ph. I had been avoiding using the app because of privacy tracking reasons - but today finally read the fine print and realised I could protect the community without having to login etc. great feature - perhaps add it high up in the app description so others who are hesitant know too.

Favourites and multiple certificates. 1. Tried to upload covid certificate no luck. Should allow multiple certificates to be added for other family members who don’t have app access. Since you already enable multiple person check ins. 2. Please change format of Favourites location names. I check in at a few different favourited Woolworths but it’s difficult to read which Woolworths I’m checking into on my favourites list as they’re all described as Woolworths with each location hidden. You have to open the location to ensure you have the correct one. Hope that makes sense? Maybe if you change font size it’ll allow for more words to be displayed? Good app otherwise though

Easy and fingers crossed for more features. Dead easy to check in, and certainly privacy concerns are dealt with. Definitely need the capability to check in for companions. As far as checking out, out of QLD, ACT and NSW apps, only NSW requires a check out and personally I didn’t remember to! I’m trained to check in not check out - agree that geofencing would be a better option. Love that I don’t need an account either ☺️

Not Disability Friendly. So I wanted to add my disabled brothers certificate to the app so when I’m out and about with him and check us in I don’t have to swap between the check in app and my wallet app (Which is capable of storing both his and my certificate! So easy having them both together, just a shame I still have to use the services vic app to check in.). He isn’t capable of doing it himself let alone having his own mobile device. For some absurd reason I can only add one certificate to the app. It’s easy to tell the developers created this app for the able world and didn’t think once about the disabled/elderly who have carers/family whenever they go out who check in for them.

Favourite Update, Thanks. Hi and thank you for the latest update with the addition of Favourites. This make it a lot easier to use the app as most stores have the scan codes on their windows and door out the front and this leads to long waits or getting rained on while trying to login.

Not the most user friendly.. You cannot register an account from the app. Which is totally ridiculous. The vast majority of companies provide a means to sign up direct from the app. This one you cannot. You can however register and sign/change details up via a service such as the Working with children check. Then you can register and login with this. Having said that, the signup process is cumbersome. It has potential though.

Vaccine Certificate. Despite being on the latest version of all apps and trying both methods - I’m unable to “share” my vaccine certificate with the app. I have the certificate working fine in my wallet - but despite several attempts - the certificate does not link to the Service Victoria app.

A Guess where app!!. Guess where you sign up to be able to sign in. Guess where you upload your licence. Guess.... I would rather a more straight forward app. I can’t change my password as I don’t have an account. I can’t log in because I can’t find where to make an account , to log in. If the app worked as it should it would get 5 starts from me. But right now , just from having to guess for the past 10 minutes and still not know where to go to make an account I’d rather give it 0 stars. Developers dropped the ball on this small important detail.

You really need a ‘frequent contact’ function. Not really here to review the app- it is what it is and it does the job fine- but some feedback for future updates: I’m recently back from TAS and was using their check-in app, they have a function to add a person to your check-in who is then stored for future use. Meaning one person can manage the check-in for a couple/family/friend group at a place and you don’t have multiple large groups standing around one check-in poster at locations that are only providing check-in at the door/entry/foyer.

Service Victoria. I’ve been checking in via my camera and that seems to work, although the App icon disappeared from my iPhone some time back. But when I tried to load my COVID Cert the system appears to let it load, but as I have no icon I cannot access it. Tried to contact them by accessing the site using my email address and despite having a profile (accessible only via the App Store) the system tells me I don’t exist. So this means that if I was at a COVID site I wouldn’t have been contacted anyway because the system does not work. Tried to dump it out and start again but that does not seem possible either. Very poor!

Actually the best check in system!. I was a bit skeptical from the bad reviews, but this is the easiest check in system I’ve seen. Name, number & done! The app is only for scanning Vic Gov QR codes though (I see a lot of reviews complaining that it’s not working, I can almost guarantee people are trying to use this on non-Vic gov QR codes). The rest of the app seems to be a bit of a work in progress, but it’s updated a few times since I first downloaded it, so it shows that it’s being improved.

Needs urgent work. The UX for signing up for a new account is terrible, ie this feature doesn’t exist in-app. I tried on the website too, and same deal (had to use the live chat bot on the site to find out how to create a profile). This is a crucial missing feature from the website and the app at present. Considering we’re in a snap lockdown and contact tracing is more important than ever, it’s disappointing the app was released without this functionality.

Check in made easy. I find this app incredibly easy to use. The only things that would make it better is a check out option. I won’t always remember how long I’ve been in a particular store and I’d hate to be caught up in having to isolate for 14 days if in reality I’d left the store prior to a confirmed case being present but according to the app I was still there.

App needs to allow for poor network availability. I have had several instances where I was trying to check-in but it failed due to poor or no network connection. Given the increased use of the check-in component it would be useful if it used a store-and-forward approach when a satisfactory network connection cannot be established. The stored data can be forwarded once a stable network connection can be established. This has to be better than losing valuable check-in information. I also agree with previous comments regarding storing of frequent companion details as per the check-in apps for NSW and ACT. The app could also do with a check-out capability same as NSW app as this must provide more useful information to the content tracers.

App closes on check-in now. Having updated the App and linked my vaccination certificate, each time I check in the screen flashes past and the app slams closed. If I try to re-open the successful check-in screen via history the app slams closed again. I am using iPhone 5 and don’t want to update my phone just now, I understood the app linked to my certificate should work with iPhone 5 and higher.

App fine, but doesn’t go far enough.. Like has been mentioned here. I was disappointed when using the app for the first time over the weekend. It’s no where near sophisticated enough. As noted by many it requires a frequent companion check in and for these people to be stored for future check ins. What’s the point of both my husband and I checking in at the supermarket, one should do it and tick the other as a companion. Many states have done this, I’m not sure why we are behind when we’ve experienced the worst, we need to be the best of the best and showing everyone how it’s done.

'BEST APP EVER.. The app is so productive and really easy to use. You don’t need to pay for it and you can also sign in for other people if they don’t have their phone on them. You can do so much and it isn’t slow and DOESNT SHOW ADDS. you take it everywhere with you and you can scan in from the camera app and service vic app shows up

Review of Service Victoria Apo. Mmm. I have had the same problem as previous person. Spent several times recently trying to figure out how to download this App and get an account with them. But to no avail. It’s a mystery to me. I don’t have the account with them, there’s no way ( today( June 7, 21) to get or delete a password with them as it doesn’t want to register me or my details? I’m willing and able. I got registered with Service NSW just fine and after that in NSW it was really easy to use. Hope this will be fixed soon guys. Gave lowest rating for this reason

Locked screen stops registration. But otherwise good. I’m surprised at his quick this is. I start the app with Siri holding the iPhone button so it’s easy walking up to a venue and asking Siri as I approach so I am all ready. I don’t use the camera app and let it link as that’s slower . EXCEPT I can’t get it to open from Siri when screen is locked. Settings do not allow this particular app to open on locked screen . Of course Face ID is a dumb thing to have to use as it means mask off but often that’s what I have to do Anything that hinders checkin is a bad thing

Not a problem. I had no issues linking via the Medicare Express app and have assisted elderly neighbours to do the same. I do agree with others that a “check out” is worth pursuing as you might buy nothing and have no receipt to remind you of being there (in the case of an outbreak).

NOT USABLE. Still DOESN'T WORK on older IPhones, iPods, iPads - or any iDevice which is operating less than iOS 11. Many vulnerable people can’t afford newer devices, especially when their current device still works. Others don’t want to contribute to the mountains of eWaste Victoria generates per year. Other States have managed to create apps that work on older devices so why not Victoria???? Solution - sack your app developer and buy a working version from interstate. Or better still partner with all other states to create an app which is usable by all Australians.

Generally easy to use. While I find the app generally easy to use for check in purposes, now that we can add our vaccine certificates to prove our status it would be great if we could add partners/ family members certificates to the app to streamline the process. We can already add other people to ‘check in with’ so please add the ability to store their certificates. It would allow couples who only use one phone to have a digital copy of both certificates readily available while already using the app the check both people in…

Migraine Sufferers Beware!!. The latest update adds an awful feature where as you open your vaccine certificate it raises the brightness on your screen to full without warning immediately after you click to view the certificate. I suffer from Chronic Migraine after a head injury and am out of action today after the sudden rise in brightness from lowest setting to full brought on a horrific migraine. If you’re affected by photosensitivity or migraine, please be careful! Services Vic - PLEASE REVERSE THIS!!

Severely limited functions. 1. We need to access our own check in records! 2. We need to be able to check out! Updated in response to the developer’s response: 1. not allowing users access to their own data is not protecting privacy. The data is clearly stored by the vic gov for contact tracing purpose. Besides, there are other ways to authenticate users to the app/data. Please don’t make excuses for the incompetency of the app. 2. Auto check out is a nice but impractical idea. It means the contact tracers have to comb through extra people when a simple checkout would’ve excluded many people. Again, poorly thought out. Finally, do you really need two splash screens? Or is it to hide the slowness of the app launching. Hilarious! Cannot imagine the team is proud of this…

Constantly need to add last name. With the recent up date for better contact tracing with the QR check in, I find myself having to type in my last name every time as this is not saved like the other details. I require club members to check in for sport - it is hard enough to get members to do this without adding another perceived hurdle.

need a check out function. Would be great if you could still scan to check in if out of mobile range. Most of all and more importantly there should be a function so you can check out. This would give a more accurate time of when you were in a venue. Making contract tracing easier as you know the exact times me you left venue.

Account doesn’t sync with website account. I created an account so I could add my WWCC and Ambulance membership, the WWCC was okay but it only allows you to buy Ambulance membership not add an existing one. I went online to see if I could do it on the website instead-it didn’t recognise my account, I had to create a new one with the same email! My ambulance membership is on the website but because there is a disconnect in the two does show up in the digital wallet! Also, how are we the only state left that doesn’t have a digital drivers licence? How about a digital Myki? 😂

Re-useable history (favourites). While it’s fantastic to see check in history, why can’t this be used to beat the queue and check into regular places without scanning again? A favourites list would be very handy for this purpose like an iPhone contact list is for messages and calls Also would be handy to have a digital drivers licence and Myki stored in there (or better still directly in Apple Wallet when IOS 15 launches)

Brilliant. Thank you for listening to feedback and adding history for the last 28 days, so users can view their own data, and delete info if they really wish (hopefully after writing it down). To anyone reading, all data is deleted within 28 days automatically, but check in info is also deleted within that time for places you check in to. Please use your real phone number, as if you are a tier 1 close contact, you’re going to get that phone call to keep you and those you interact with safe. This is great for the tier 3 close contact, and tier 2 where people haven’t been sent an sms because of the speed of updates. Very happy to give 5 stars for this version, after 3 for the previous versions. Thank you, and well done

Need to add more companions. Whilst the ability to add up to 10 companions is an improvement, it’d be great if you had the ability to add an unlimited amount of companions. I work at a venue with an overwhelming amount of elderly regular clientele. None of these people have the ability to check in with a smart phone so we do it for them on an iPad. Ideally, we would like the option to save their contacts and just select them each time they come in. Instead we must enter their details every single time they come in. Other than that, the app is really simple to use and very user friendly.

Works well. The app works well. If it fails, it is usually because it tries to connect to another wifi network - I found turning off the wifi and using your phone date fixes any issues. I’d like a watch version so I don’t have to touch the face mask

Time stamp larger. Make the time stamp larger and with black font as it is more important than an animation in the background that animates and harder to see in different light conditions. It might look ugly but will speed up the process of checking in and more secure. Harder for people to just take a screenshot when staff are not paying attention. I am a UX Designer for mobile apps and this not about as the aesthetics for a government app.

Check-In needs more work. Check-in has improved somewhat over the various releases. However, more improvements are needed. 1. Display of last check-in location is, seemingly, hit and miss. I checked into five locations over the past two days, only two displayed the last location option. Why? 2. It’s my information, why can’t I retrieve a list, say, check-ins for the current day/week. I’m not suggesting this should be instantaneous, but perhaps an SMS to the registered number after a couple of hours. 3. I should be able to check-in a frequent companion with SAVED information using a single scan. 4. This may be fixed, but an early release required network coverage to work. If it still does, why not cache check-in information and transmit when coverage returns?

Second Rate. Quite disappointing. This app doesn't live up to its hype. Tried to load digital seniors card on multiple occasions, only to receive repeated technical error messages. After contacting their customer support, learnt their tech boffins haven't quite mastered the app's interactions with other VIC government department data bases. Pretty mediocre performance for them to encourage us to digitise our seniors cards before they'd sorted the tech issues. It's anybody's guess how they'll go with digitisation of driver's licenses.

Other companions. We are a one phone couple. Need to be able to link a certificate for both of us and also have the ability to swap between single check ins. For example, User 1 checks in, User 2 checks in, or User 1 and 2 checks in. At the moment User 2 can’t check in on their own. Otherwise nice and easy.

Good check-in app. Some people are never happy I can see when reading these reviews. I found this app does what is intended and the developers have done well. Easy to use and works perfectly. Just do it people. Contact tracers need to know where you’ve been if an outbreak occurs…simple!

Getting better. Now with a ‘history’ page and the ability to add a vaccination certificate, the app is becoming a much more useful one to have on the phone. But PLEASE hide or minimise the massive “Remove” button from the certificate screen, that’s way too easy to hit by mistake, when it’ll be rare for anyone to be removing certificates.

Very impressed!. The VIC Government have done an exceptional job with this app. They have made it easy to use and super helpful to not only add other people to your check in, but now adding their vaccination certificate also! I love that I can favourite places I frequently visit, and that you can see your check in history. Thank you for making this app a great and easy resource in this Covid season!

Liking the favourites option. Will there eventually be a check out feature for this? This would be a great feature for those who don’t tend to keep receipts, or if paying by cash. We also need to check in each time we arrive back at our apartment complex, but if we’re just out for a walk, there’s no way to officially know what time we left the place in case of an exposure site whilst we’re out etc.

Success!. Installed a week ago when it first became available not a problem, very easy. Service Vic was the only one available on Medicare at the time. I’ve had nothing but problems with Service NSW seems to download fine from Medicare but won’t connect to Service NSW 1000s having problems. I’m on the Vic NSW border and need both states QR checks! Congratulations Service Vic for getting the Vax Cert to successfully load and I’ve been using it in Regional Vic with no problems and we haven’t reached 70% yet!

Joke. Made to make you think they care.. Updating deletes your contacts tracing history. That’s fantastic when you find there’s been a local case, update, and see you’ve been nowhere. No follow ups from the government if you have been to an exposure site. Best info is your local feeds and Facebook. You know, local that care about your life. Meanwhile my small rural town is full of tourists mid holidays whilst being told our daily Covid case will rise to 1500 in Victoria soon. It’s turned into ‘save yourself’. Government doesn’t care if you get Covid anymore. They just want the country making profit during a pandemic, which we have been…. You’d think any country would be in the red whilst going through something like this until we get ontop of it. Seems the government would like us to drop like flies. Less people to worry about then. Stay safe folks. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Look after one another. And consider the people in the towns you decide to visit. When I’m reality you should be stuck at home like many Australians.

Check in history. It would be most beneficial to have a history section in the app for the previous two to three weeks. This would allow users to see exactly where they been when there is an exposure site released. I for one cannot remember exactly where I was between 1600 and 1800 two weeks ago as has happened with exposure sites.
