💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

Lost most of journals. The only journals I have are the ones from classic, and I assuming I only still have those because it is stored locally. I like other reviewers used it in my phone and iPad to discover today that it was completely gone. Use the classic, or another journal I recommend. Good app but at this point unreliable, I’m deleting the new app and keeping the classic while using another app for my journals going forward until I can transfer my old ones to another app.

Can’t access my subscription.. I decided to upgrade. First, it made me go back to a previous account. I finally get it to a right email. Then all my stuff was deleted. Wrote support nothing back. When you buy the subscription, it tells me to keep buying it. Says it will save me money to resubscribe at this point. I just want it to work and not delete my stuff I cannot contact support or anything... I have been trying all day!!! Can not access bulletin features

This is my favorite App. As someone struggling with mental health, time management, and everything you can imagine with occasional really productive busts Grid Diary is helping me to stay consistent and to self reflect

Love how you can customize. I like this app very much because it let me customize what I want to write about. There are many templates choose from. I like to focus on journalizing on certain things for certain period of time and then switch it and this is what I feel like the perfect app for me.

Incredible app on every level, and on all devices. I've been using Grid Diary for a few years now. It is 100% worth the subscription. It's extremely customizable and user friendly up to the point it just feels so satisfying to use, but why I'm leaving this review is because of the quality of development of this app/service. Robust synchronisation across all devices, careful database management NASA would be proud of, and consistent quality updates. Grid Diary sets the bar. I have complete confidence my years of data is safe with them.

Insert history no longer works after update!. This is a feature that is part of the PAID subscription that does NOT work with the latest update! This must be fixed or refunds should be issued! You can select that option and even tap on what you want inserted from the history list, but it does NOT insert it! I’m running the latest version of iOS on an iPhone Mini 12. Also: The app freezes CONSTANTLY now!!!

Meh.. This app is okay. I got it a few days ago, but now I’m barely using it. Don’t get me wrong. This app is really good. But it’s a little boring. It asks you questions, and you can answer them, but it doesn’t feel right. Why can’t you put your own stuff in there? Not just answers to questions. I love this app, and it’s really nice, but, I’m just saying, please, be able to put your own stuff in there. Don’t be stuck. Be free! Tell it your OWN life. So please, just keep in mind that if you get this app, you can’t get out of the questions.

Great tool for self-growth!. I’ve been using Grid Diary 2 to keep track of various aspects of my life and it always keep me productive! I’m looking forward to using the Mac app!

Locked out / seizure risk. I’ve been using grid diary for years. Recent update has me signed out but there are endless animations on the sign in screen and other crucial points in the app. These animations serve no purpose other than looking flashy. I have high seizure risk to animation and can’t access my account or support without risking one. I tried to contact support through the App Store but it’s just thier FAQ.

Very Few Features. The app is good and I understand the need to make money off of the app through subscription. However there are very few features without paying. I can’t add a second journal. I got this app to track my quarantine habits but I can’t make a second journal to keep track of my dogs. This was slightly confusing but understandable. I tried to add quotes so I can see more variety of quotes but it was locked. I also tried to add a second reminder on the journal app so I would remember to use it. Of all things to lock they locked this. Normally I would delete the app but I love the format of the grid so much I can’t. This app probably deserves less stars but I respect the need for a subscription it’s also not very expensive and I may get the subscription later if this app really works. All in all it’s an okay app take note that as much as I complain about it the subscription is only two dollars a month.

Unique, Customizable, Game-Changing App!!!. I’m only able to edit the review I have already made, but in doing so, I am “upping” my rating to 5 stars. There is truly no comparable application anywhere that even approaches the ease of use, abundant (and not bloated) features, with the number of customization tools available as Grid Diary 2! Anyone who uses this app can surely tell that there is a lot of love and care in its design, maintenance, and extension...I talk this app up to everyone I know who would be interested. There is literally simply nothing like it out there, and it truly is a game changer. 2 minor features I’d still love to see: - In the “Timeline” context, using the filter function, the weather stickers and emoji stickers are not multi-select, while the flags are. I would think that if a user wanted to select all entries where they were either upset OR sad OR mad, they would be able to do so. - A desktop version of the application and cross platform synch would be awesome as well. :) All in all, this is a great app...well worth the meager price of subscription, and I certainly appreciate your efforts in delivering this kind of quality mobile application. It is truly a credit to your creativity, care, and tenacity to be able to produce something this amazing! Thanks!!!

Update. Everytime you update this app it says I don't have any journals. I am paid for a year's subscription and it doesn't expire till Nov. 13, 2020. I love this app and record my day and keep track of my medical situation and since I am currently fighting breast cancer I need this. Please do something.

Great APP but missing critical security feature. The app was claimed to have end-to-end encryption capabilities when it was released several years ago, but it has not been possible until now. Other than that the rest of the basic features are well done

You will lose your data. If you use this app with the pro subscription across multiple devices, then expect to lose your data. The sync is unreliable. I entered data on one device and half of it was wiped when I viewed it on another. I was really depending on having that data. Awful. I sent a message to customer support five days ago asking them to address these technical questions. I only received an automated response that I’d hear an answer within a few hours, but I have heard nothing. I would not recommend this app unless your content is ephemeral, because everything else is pretty ok.

10/10 recommend!!. It is the most user-friendly way to quickly jot down things from your day, and there are so many options available for the free version alone!!

Exactly what I need.. This is a perfect to organize and reflect on your day. I can have tasks, calendar and my thoughts for personal growth all in the same place. Thank you.

Love the idea. I’m a big journalist in my spare time, I finally found an app to fit m6 writing needs, namely this app however, I don’t like having to be charge an6 amount to further expand my experience with its use. I wish the $20 was a one time payment toward the app including its features. Tbh, when I see ads having to subscribe, it diminishes its value toward the consumer & its very distasteful to trick your consumers into trying out the app but having to suggest we get charged for something we can do ourselves for free. Doesn’t make sense.

Amazing App but Sync Feature is horrible!. Ive been searching for an app like this for so long that clean and organize like this one! Only thing I hate is that the sync to other mobile device does not work well. This is my day 2 of using it and my entry’s from my desktop still has not transferred to my iPhone app !

Importance of Reflection. Since becoming a teacher I have reflected a lot as an educator in order to improve my own teaching style and model for my students what it means to put effort towards improving. Now having kids of my own reflecting on how fast they actually grow and develop becoming the humans beings they will be. Grid Classic 2 allows me to reflect on how fast they are growing up, they seem like new people every week. GC2 allows me to change topics as different things become more pertinent in raising them and their own interests change, and when ready I can share with them all of my joys, mistakes, worries, fears, pride, and resilience in parenting and enjoying who they are and are becoming. You’ve made a great app that is user friendly and incorporates so much. Thank you for your efforts. I cant wait to look back years down the road, shake my head and laugh at tragic comedy that is day to day parenting.

Continue to develop. This is my favorite journaling app. Please continue to make improvements, everyone of them are appreciate it. It would be great if some of the functions like different fonts were easier to use. If the bullet points were more user-friendly that would be great also.

Made me realize some things about my life. This is really nice and far better than anything I’ve tried before. Everyone should really give this a try.

Great. I just started to journal due to starting therapy. I needed a way to track my feelings and thoughts. I’m a big fan of the grid and the sections. I customized the grid to have four categories: what happened today, how am I feeling, what am I grateful for, things to consider/discuss w therapist. The tag system is great. I use the tags to say if I had a good day or bad day. I really love the quotes and hope that more continue to be added. It would be nice if this synced with google calendar to track what events happened that day. Also, I would LOVE if this synced with a PC/web version. Other those couple suggestions, this has been a great app. Hope it keeps getting better and better

Perfect Journal. I can’t say enough good things about this app! It does it all! I love the grid format with customizable prompts, the calendar widget to show your logged days, and the very easy functionality!

Great Until My Phone Updated. I had been using Grid Journal for almost a year, but when my phone updated to IOS1 15, all of my data from the last 10 months was deleted since I was on guest mode. Wish I would have known that 10 months ago. If you want to use this app, buy the membership. Otherwise it’s a waste of time.

The best journaling app for busy people. I LOVE this style of journaling. It is so helpful to have prompts to answer and is reflective yet quick. The grid layout is awesome, I love how you can see all your prompts at once. It’s super customizable, you can move your prompts around and edit them and even create your own. Additionally, the feature that lets you see all your entries for one prompt is AMAZING. I love this app and hope it will continue to be updated while maintaining the features that makes it great.

Disappointed. I can’t add photos because they will show up as a question mark on my second device, no matter which device I add the photo on. I also have tons of titles and tags from deleted entries. It says 55 total entries but I have 4 (still counts deleted entries from a while back). I have contacted support repeatedly and only received one response that was a single line and offered a non-working solution. Been waiting for weeks for help with this. The app also said the year sun was $13 (I had the classic version) but it charged me $22. Support needs to help users who paid for this. Photos should not be such a mess, and the sync takes forever.

Lost everything!. I love this app right. Matter fact, I believe I suggested a weekly, monthly , annual view from the last one which is a life changer. Except, when I signed up, it says you would lose your current data so asks if I wanted to a restore, b , or c clear. I clicked clear thinking it was the option to come out of this step bc I would just export instead, but it cleared everything in the diary. Who would even want to clear the phone’s notes if they’re signing up? B and c options have the same meaning. Just auto add to the account leave clear in settings or something. My year was all set for the first time in my life. I’m so sad.

Almost a good app…. It seemed great the first day I used it, but when I went to answer the questions I had put into my journal, they were all different the next day. I use a popular method where I ask myself the same 4 questions every morning, so I did not want their random prompts. I figured I just needed to save my questions as a template, which I did, but when I went to add it to my journal, it wasn’t an option. After about 30+ minutes of trying to figure out how to add my template to my journal so it shows up without me having to re-write them in manually every day, I gave up. I believe there must be a way to do it (or else why have the option for templates?) but the app makes it so difficult and unintuitive that it’s not worth it. This should be an extremely easy feature to find, since I’m sure it’s what a lot of people hope to use it for.

Great. Could have an extra feature or 2. Great. I won’t go into detail of what makes the app great as others have already pointed that out. I’ll just detail a little why I decided to remove one star: > If you add your own quote and it’s very long, it will get cut off. > A 3 day free trial if you’re interested in paying monthly seems almost trivial and too short to determine if you want to pay for pro. So you almost feel forced to sign up for the yearly and hope you don’t forget to cancel. Feels somewhat shady. >I wish you could organize your quotes instead of the defacto “Custom” and “Default” groups > It would be great if a grid could be marked random so every day it would ask you a different question So it’s great but it’s definitely not reaching its full potential.

love everything about this app. i’ve been using this app for the last two years. it’s the best journaling app i’ve found in the app store. i appreciate that the new update made importing my old data from the original app super easy. i also love the new interface and color scheme. the light mode on the original app has been killing my eyes forever. glad i found this and thank you for the updates!!

Terrible on-boarding process. It’s a hellish process going from the free version to a subscription and accessing the account sync capabilities. Nothing would sync. Very confusing because you’re never prompted to create an account with a password. My work -around after much trial and error was to “reset my password” allowing me to finally create one in the first place.

Sync Between devices doesn’t work well at all. I paid for the annual subscription in large part to be able to use grid diary across my devices, but the sync feature doesn’t work, and is almost worse than just using one device because it results in lost entries/updates. Please fix this asap

No pencil? No font or size changes?. I expected that with a subscription I would get some things that are now considered pretty basic on free apps - like being able to change the font and the text size. Being able to use the Apple Pencil is a must have for an iPad journaling app. It’s a great idea that was ahead of its time when it came out but now seems really basic and dated.

LOVING this app. This app has allowed me to create a 5 minute journaling practice each day that fits into my busy life as a mom and business owner, and it has had a positive effect on my mental health by allowing me to reflect and become more mindful of my thoughts and activities each day.

Exactly what I was looking for!. I wanted to be able to have a daily template of my own questions and prompts. I have learned many different great ideas for ways to start your day and get your mind on the right path. I did not want to have to write the templates everyday with pen and paper. Going to use this app everyday and customize it to whatever self help book I am reading at the time. A lot of other apps have cliche fixed questions and that’s not what I want.

Introspection. This app allows me to clear and process all of my thoughts and emotions, it allows me the space to be creative with it and give it some of my own personality on it. I only wish they were compatible with other iOS devices cause I would greatly enjoy this on my macbook.

LOVE. I want to thank the people that made this app. There is so much customization to make it my own - that I can change the headers if I want or add tags. Thank you for making it accessible. I’m new to journaling and I really enjoy taking a few minutes to write each day.

A great app that keeps getting better.. This is a great journal app if you are looking for self care or self discovery. The prompts always help get my thoughts flowing. Or if I only have a few moments, provide a quick way to journal quickly without losing the habit.

Exactly what I wanted.. Exactly what I was looking for. Can’t wait for the iMac version. And suggest a video walk-through tutorial in the future. Haven’t figured out the week and month journals yet. But I just got it and I love it.

Fantastic App. I’ve been using this app for a couple weeks now. It took a bit to integrate it into my routine but once I did, I find myself going back to it to help me with my to do’s and habits. I find it very helpful and user friendly. Thanks again.

Most Important Journal App + Export to PDF. This is the absolute best journaling App for iOS. I’ve tried several in the past. The hardest part about keeping a journal is know what to write. This app makes it easy by suggesting questions to answer about your day, week, current events, what you have learned, or what is on your mind. I LOVE that I can customize my own template of questions. I LOVE that all of the questions are arranged in a “Grid” and I can answer all, one or none of them. Some of the custom questions I have created for my journal include: Where did I see the hand of God in my life today? What am I currently praying for? Who needed a little extra attention or love today? What can I do for that person tomorrow? What did I learn today? What problems did I encounter today and how did I solve them? As the cherry on top, you can easily export your entries into a PDF, which turns into a beautiful document. Using this app helped me to keep a more consistent journal than any other method I’ve tried.

One of the best Journaling Apps. I never review apps but I thought this journal app deserves it. This is a superb journaling app and it’s really helped me to stay productive throughout my day. I highly recommend it! The only complaints I have is that when you try to type in bold or italic text it puts these weird stars around the text. It gets fixed once your preview the entry but I wish it would just type in bold and italic without the stars.

Nice App. I use Grid Diary last one year and find it is the app that I want to use to organize my daily reflection. Now I use Grid Diary 2. It is better than before and I love it.

I Want To Love It. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE everything about this app, and even pay the premium membership. The only addition that would be super cool to see would be some place you could have a checklist of things that repeat to each day on a daily grid or something. That would be the ultimate app for me, and I would be a forever customer, as long as you can fix one thing: I do a lot of memory journaling for my kids to have one day, so I use this a lot to quickly write down my thoughts and happenings throughout the day until I can spend the time to make it "pretty" in my physical journal. But you guuuuyyys. The syncing has to get better. Sometimes I will input things on my phone, sometimes my MacBook. And a lot of the time they don't crossover and once and a while disappear completely. These are my memories! My kids milestones! This can't be happening. I will be a forever yearly premium customer if I feel confident my memories aren't going to be lost... and right now I'm not confident. It's so frustrating!

So much better than Day One or anything else. This is the only journaling app you’ll ever need. It’s stable and downright beautiful. I’ve been using it for about four months and could not be happier.

Best journaling app. Believe me, I’ve tried many journaling apps. This one is by far the best. The layout is amazing. It’s simple, effective, and super easy to use. Every night, I select a couple of questions to answer and record my thoughts down into the boxes. It really makes me reflect on what happened. One thing, however, I think it would by better if every day, you got a random assortment of questions. This makes it more exciting to see what you have next, and let’s you think even deeper. You can, however, change the question if you don’t like it.

Scam. Do not buy. App upgrade not activated 12 hours (and counting) after purchase. Huge let down. I’ve never felt compelled to write a review about an app. This one is SO bad, I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t warn others. I spent a few days deciding which journaling app to buy. Settled on this. Liked the grid template vs. long narrative templates. Purchased at 9:30am and now it’s 9:30pm. Still not active so I’m unable to sync and use on my desktop. Subscription shows active in App Store. Tried all the solutions offered in the troubleshooting FAQs and nothing works. Submitted multiple messages to “support” with screenshots and no response. Terrible.

Great option for a journal/productivity app. Some things I would like to see: - sync with reminders - more journaling/writing promoting options - shortcuts options

Feature loaded. Probably the best I’ve used I always come back to this app, it’s so detail enriched, and the layout is cohesive.

It’s GREAT!. I don’t have to use iOS notes for this, if you likes neat journal and want to keep digital records, you don’t want to miss this!

Great apps. I love the idea of this app. It is great and simple to use. I would love to have the opportunity to use it with Apple Pencil as well.

Excellent, different approach to journaling. I was looking for a journaling app which would allow me to keep track of my process as a PhD student - things like my motivation and what affected it, key lessons for the day, general notes, key tasks accomplished, etc. The grid style is perfect for this - it allows me to customise how many grids, the prompts in each grid, and quickly see an overview for the day. It syncs perfectly with the MacOS version as well. Really helpful.

Wonderful app and devs are very good with communication. I previously used their grid diary classic app before changing over to this one. This app is a good way to record your thoughts and feelings and make it a simple habit to keep up in your daily life. I had contacted them about a crash error from the recent update and they were very prompt to give m a solution. They have since then released an update addressing bugs. I recommend this app if you like to keep a grid- style diary that you can custom to your needs. The subscription is also a reasonable one as the customisations and ease of use make this a worthwhile one to stick to.

Grid Diary Classic. I like the new layout on this app but this is ridiculous! i can not find a way to sync my old diary information with this new one AND now i have to pay for a membership? i had already payed for premium on ‘classic’ but now i cant transfer over any of those existing features, this WAS my favourite app and i used it daily but not anymore :(

Great app. I love this app so so much, it’s worth the purchase even with out premium features. Would totally recommend! 👍

Simple, easy for daily use. Daily/Yearly questions prompts helps me to develop a habit of reflection on my days / year. You can insert pictures to journal as a memory stamp. Love the design of app!

Pricey. Great layout. Would enjoy using it. But it’s not worth the $20+ mark per year. Classic was a great buy and this upgrade isn’t that much different (other than the weekly, month, year option - a request I put in for classic).

Just terrible. I really liked the idea behind this app. I signed up to the two week Premium trial on my Mac, setup my first template and made my first day's entry. I then downloaded the iphone app, signed in to the same account (both apps signed in using my Apple ID) and the entry wasn't there. Went back to the Mac app, the entry has now disappeared from there. Setup the ttemplate again, saved the template again, made my first entry. Closed the app, opened the app, everything gone. If I could give this app negative stars for wasting 20 minutes of my life I would. Good idea, terrible execution.

Good, but.... Good: - A life management journal all in one place! But: - Perpetual payment is off putting. - So much going on. Wasn’t the idea of the grid to keep it short, sweet and simple? - I just bought the original grid diary, and now I’m buying it again, only perpetually? Thanks, but no thanks.

Incredibly easy and organised!. An easy, simple way to reflect and monitor your mood, goals, mental health and overall daily happenings. Even if you normally can’t make entries or don’t know where to start the app pretty much does that part for you and all you need to do is simply answer the prompts, and you have a well formatted, organised, insightful reflection. Love the fact that you can not only edit the format for an individual day, but also create your own templates too, meaning you can personalise it to suit your individual needs. Well done to the developer!!

Always conflicting and crashes. I love this app but can you please fix this problem? I can't use it now as a result of this

Gay. Vvvv extra gay

Account? No. When you’re required to create an account that’s a red flag for me, so deleted straight away

Disappointed. I downloaded this app and it wouldn’t even let me do anything, I would click on a date to add something and it would crash on me. I tried doing it more then once. I’m extremely disappointed as it looked like an a amazing app.

Great app 1 request. Love the app. It’s been a great way for me to get back to journaling. 1 thing I would live to see is the ability to set random prompts for a grid. Maybe have 4 grids on a board and each day it’s a different set of prompts from a preselected few. Thanks for that app.

Great update. The new Grid diary is great 👍 I like all the new features, and it's well priced (although subscriptions are plenty with iOS apps these days). The UI is familiar but has many new additions.

Requires signing up for an account. I don’t feel comfortable when app developers force you to use their server to sync your personal data. Why not let users choose where to sync their data - Apple, Dropbox, or the many other options.

Excellent, flexible journal. I have explored a few journal apps (many of which are excellent), but the key point of difference witih Grid Diary is this grid concept. It allows you to customise the grid format, including prompts, to help in focusing on documenting key items. For me, I am wanting to use it as a journal through my PhD studies - to help keep me motivated, understand what affects my motivation, just down important notes and lessons, as well as key tasks completed. As a result this grid format is perfect for me. It syncs perfectly with the app on my iPhone and iPad which makes life easy.

The URL Scheme for Grid Diary 2 is broken..... The URL Scheme for Grid Diary 2 is broken. None of the URLs work except griddiary2://open But the application is not configured to insert ”griddiary2” into any URL strings so no URLs work out of the application. Not sure how this is getting past the Apple App checkers. Please resolve. Best Regards Sven

I like but.... I like the layout but I think you should give the possibility as per old app to do a one time purchased, people is sick to have hundreds of subscriptions and without apple pencil is useless

Simple & effective - Wish you could print it out!. I’m struggling between choosing Grid Diary and Day One because the latter has the feature to print out the journal which is amazing!! I prefer Grid Diary on every other aspect, but having a physical copy would be amazing! I hope the devs consider it, and I think it would make the app more competitive!

Terrible Customer Service. I have been a yearly subscriber from Day 1 after using their free Grid Diary Classic. I have had issues with the app in the past and have gotten a response within 1-2 days. I’m over 9+ days in to my most recent experience and customer service has barely answered me. I’ve been waiting 7 days for a response on how to retrieve all my information that they apparently can see on their end. Thanks for not taking care of one of your most loyal customers. 👎🏼

Good update. Enjoyed the classic version and now think the update is an improvement. Not sure I understand the purpose of what use I can make of something called Tags but I only use one journal with only one template so probably not relevant. The one thing that would be better for me is to see the working page make more effective use of what looks like a lot of space. I prefer to see all my journal entries on one page but each grid cuts off the information after 5 lines. The information is still there of course but just doesn’t show in that view but the amount of what looks like unused available space is a bit frustrating. Update After A Few Months Still liking the app but will follow with interest the paid version as the pricing at $19 annually seems considerably higher than what’s generally found with other apps. Another Update They took away the painful subscription marketing that preceded access to our data. It was just way too much when compared to other apps and is now simply easily found within the app instead of force feeding the user. Given the comparatively very high pricing I’m a bit doubtful there’ll be many takers though.

Difficult. As I’ve seen already the transition is just to difficult and the classic version was just so much simpler and better for people with no time to just put how their feeling in the app. Probably gonna keep using the other one for now.

Super. Wow super application

Overall good. It’s one of the best diary/journal apps that I have found and been using for 4 years now but it has issues at times... but they are very helpful in helping solve the issues. Overall, it’s really good.

Beautiful app wrecked by a subscription. The app is beautiful, but is completely wrecked by the subscription model. I miss the days where you could just pay for the app once.

Exactly what I've been looking for!. App is perfect for getting your life together.

Beautiful - but poor upgrade path. Looks beautiful but the transition from the previous version is way harder than it should be. I haven't been able to free up enough time to figure it out.

Apple pencil. Overall great app, but not quite what i was looking for. I downloaded this app, Hoping that I could handwrite my texts, using my apple pencil which is not currently feasible. It would give that real journaling feeling for some. I hope this will be an option in the future updates.

Money sucker. I bought this upgrade with the impression that I would be able to use a passcode on it. Oh, I can, for $2/month $19/year. I like that I can personalize the prompts, but will NOT pay a monthly fee for password protection. That’s extortion. I’ll be researching to find another diary.

Suggestion. Love the unique format of the journals. Could there possibly be a section to put in a picture?

New to it but so far lovely. It's a super lovely app, daily journals are easy to use and edit, great customization, just really enjoy it right now

Rip-off. Paying $4 per month for something that doesn’t even work. Synch almost never works across my devices. As soon as I find something comparable, I am deleting this app forever!!!

Freezes and Unusable. I was interested in your product and considering paying for a membership but when I came back to my Mac laptop the spinny wheel appeared. I had to force quit. Upon opening the app the spinny wheel appears instantly. I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the app - still get the spinny wheel. It looked good but didn't work for more than 2 hours before it became unusable.

Very poor sign up. Asked me to subscribe multiple times when I already had. Didn’t have a remember password option upon sign up. Verifying email still didn’t recognize I’d already subscribed. Overall poor experience before even getting to the actual interface. Deleted app.

Why. Yet another app that doesn’t warrant a subscription. Loved it before but now? *DELETED* Added after dev response: Repeat, does not warrant a subscription. Will not subscribe. Bye.

Far, far too expensive. $25 every year for access? That adds up really quickly if you use the diary reliably. The product does seem to be better than any others on the market in the App Store but this is Usery.

subscription cost too high. the original was $13.99 one time fee, this one is $26.99 a year! ouch! I was ready to upgrade and do the $13.99 even if it was yearly but not this

Can’t import old data. I am unable to select a backup file to import my Grid Diary Classic data. The app is useless to me if I can’t have my old data.

I use this app at least 4 times a day. I use this app as a daily food, blood sugar and medication record. My Dr. Loves it. It’s the best way I have found to keep an accurate, on hand log book. I love that you can modify the cells to fit your needs. I would recommend this to any diabetic. Dallas

Like it. I abandoned it the first time I tried last year, but I come back for it coz I really like the new font and the animation is so smooth that I feel very joyful during writing. I can feel it's a scrupulous work done devotedly by the team.

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS. The synch feature never works. The customer support is the most incompetent ever. They never get back to you.

Awesome!. I love the app but I just don’t wanna pay so much for it!! 😩

Déçu. Je n’aime pas cela

Best journal app. Forgot to mention how great the widget is and the fact you can customise your journal cover! Probably forgot other great features. Again... I love this app

Some difficulties. Problem solved. iOS 17.2 "Journal" Why pay to upgrade when the data migration doesn't work and no one answers. I'd love to review it but I'm stuck trying to change my password. All I get is a message saying "failed to reset" I've been trying to get support from the chat line on the website which is all I can find for help and it's been days with no response. So, might be good. I don't know. But support is ?slow? Anyone?

iPad sketching. It would be so nice if it supported sketching on the iPad, it would feel much like a classic journal with all the perks of the Grid Diary.

No way. I was a huge fan of the (now) Classic (and abandoned) version of this app. The developers have created this “new” app, in order to charge a subscription price. I tried the trial and found it full of bugs, and with less-functioning features than the app I already purchased (and love!). Even something as simple as landscape mode is not available in this new version, as it was with the old. I will stick with the Classic until it becomes unusable (since the developers are no longer updating it), and then I will move on to a new app. I am open to paying for a new version of an app if it offers more features, but this one does not. Highly disappointing.

Happy Grid Diary is still supported. I have been using the original Grid Diary app daily for the past 3+ years. After this new push to a subscription model, I decided to try Day One again. I can’t bring myself to like Day One and I’m so used to Grid Diary that I’m giving Grid Diary 2 a chance. Exporting the old data to the new app went very smoothly–that was a big relief for me. As others have mentioned, it’s obvious that English is not the native language of the developers, but they do allow a lot of in-app customizations so we can fix most of their errors. Being able to create custom questions using a template is the best part of Grid Diary. Instead of having to write something into a blank page, I only have to answer 4 simple questions every night. This reduces time trying to decide which topics to write about. Feature request: Day One has automatic geotagging and weather input data based on location. For those of us who travel, that would be awesome to see a map of all the places we've been.

Ugh. You should give al least 3 journals. Even if we don't subscribe. I had high hopes and then I saw this. DISGUSTING!

They don’t care about you. Paid in the early days because I wanted to help the team. Little did I know that rather than updating the app one day, they’d just invent a new one to purposely go around early backers

Won’t let me log in. Ok so I logged in as a guest and it looks really great! I like how it made several improvements and every was much neater. It seemed amazing and even better than the first.. until I TrueDepth to log on. Every time I try to log on it says that my email doesn’t exist. I have copied and pasted my EXACT email several time and it still says it’s wrong. I write in this app a lot and I have many important entries so there is no way I’m going to restart and get another account. I’m soo disappointed because I didn’t even get to see what this app was like.

Still in Beta. I am a long time user of the first grid diary and I bought grid diary to even being a subscription because I love the first one but I am very disappointed. Grid diary 2 is, for sure, in Beta. Important features like sync between devices is now very slow, when it happens. Even when you open grid diary in the two devices and it says sync is complete, you don’t get both devices in sync. In grid diary classic this work perfectly. iPad version have an inferior interface because the app does not use well the space. You have a tag resource that is cool but you can’t have a calendar view of the tags, making the Tags less useful. The resource to enter data using wed is gone. Well, it is really in beta and with the sync problems, I can only recomend the app if you have only one device and it is not an iPad.

Love the new version!!!. Absolutely love the new elegant layout and setups! Good job team:)干得漂亮! I’ve always been hoping to settle on a subscription journaling app since that almost guarantees longer lifecycle of the product. The classics version is good, but I’m worried that it will stop updating at a point. So horraaaay!!! Finally you guys have something out! I also love the tags and how pics look like in the page with all of my grids. There are also some setups I think have better solutions. 1. The tag system. I think we need a place where we can manage all the tags to sort them in categories and cancel out ones that mean the same thing(this could happen, A LOT). We can also include the proportion of tag categories in the statistics(btw please promise we will have a statistics page). 2. I do recognize that there are a couple of functions that allow us to review our past journal. But they seem to be......scattered in the app. I really do hope that they are all in the same big page( or else it will be just......very confusing where I should go if I want to review). 3. Will we have a shortcut setting enabling us to automatically enter the grid page of a certain journal once we enter the app?

Didn’t enjoy. Was kinda boring and didn’t think it was worth 20 dollars.

Really like this app. I have been using a repetitive series of questions to journal off and on for quite a while. In the past I was having to copy and paste over those questions into something like Apple notes or google keep. This makes it easy to setup and still can have a general journal entry as well. I especially like the weekly and monthly sections. This is something I had never thought of. Pricing is also much more reasonable than some of the other journals out there. I highly recommend.

It’s ok. It works ok, not bad

Trapped & Betrayed by New App - Happy 2019!. I paid to upgrade my classic edition Grid Diary long ago as I felt it was fair to pay something, assuming it was a ‘lifetime’ subscription/pmt, as many are. After only ~2 years of daily journaling using only the basic private features, I’m now faced with a discontinuance of the App and a Lifetime of Subscription FEES to keep it active and have access to my own ‘free’ journal entries. I am highly disappointed in this and feel somewhat trapped & betrayed by these latest developments. We should at least be given a way to download our entries before departing, and/or given an extra-special lifetime deal as 1-2 pmts. I will not signup for continuing yearly payments as things change too fast & one may end up using 1 yr, but paying many. I was loyal & recommended the handy app to others, so this treatment is very upsetting. I’d like to be contacted!

NO WINDOWS OPTION. Seriously!!?!!. They have an option for MAC and not Windows. I don’t want to type with my fingers on my phone. I want this on my LAPTOP. Please offer this for Windows it’s not fair. This is ridiculous no one wants to text their prompts daily.

Is this a shell company? No information online. The developer of this software is NOWHERE online. I don’t think I’ll be trusting my ideas to be safe when there’s no actual identity of Xiamen Sumi Network Technology. Beware

Bad Move. So the creators of Grid Diary really told me that I’m Boo Boo the Fool for buying their pro version for 5.99 when I have so many empty journals. I know that this change was to make money but your old users are clearly not happy because you made them waste their time on an app so you could make an update with pointless changes and no one with sense is going to pay a subscription for a journaling app when there are so many superior alternatives. I’m going to delete Grid Diary Classic too and I’m truly sorry I wasted 5.99 on it.

Data security risks. This should concern everyone. Quote from Grid Diary privacy policy:”A Note to Users Outside of the China. How to type online?. The new version, Grid Diary 2, takes some getting used to, but it’s growing on me. I’m happy to see it still has a “memories” function and is still visually simple. Migrating my Classic data over took some troubleshooting, but I made it happen. I also appreciate that you can now have multiple journals for various topics. I only gave 4 stars because it seems to have lost the online typing connection feature, which means I can’t figure out a way to write using my laptop. If that feature gets added back in, then it’s 5 stars for sure! Update: Was able to connect my blue tooth keyboard to my iphone, which allows for easier typing on long entries. I also see via twitter that an online version and desktop version is in the works.

The one I have been looking for!. Well designed to life in order!

Good App, Bad Spellcheck. I love this Journaling App. It's excellent for tracking progress. I use this with my iOS devices and Mac. I pay for premium. Not sure what is going on, but the spellcheck and autocorrect are very broken. I have to go back manually each time and correct misspellings. This is a basic feature that works well in the iOS version but is terrible in the Mac App. FEATURE REQUESTS (for all versions): 1. Dictation for "through-out day" thought jouranling. 2. Auto Time-Stamp (and default time stamp formatting) - each time I want to time-stamp i have to select the buried option AND the format, even though I only use the same formatting each time. 3. Grid Template Font and Style Formatting - I would like the option to select what kind of formatting each grid has. EX: One grid is auto time stamped ; another grid one font style ; etc 4. MORE WIDGETS or PLUGINS - this option has been around for Grid Diary forever and yet there are only a few widgets. Why not let devs create plugins and then we can buy them? Or simply create more and we can buy those. THANKS!

Uncover. Overtime

Boo!. I journal for myself, but also as a way to note my young child’s development. Now that this switch is happening, I can’t get my previous entries exported to a PDF or text doc to my phone, without paying. I would consider buying a subscription for a month to download my data, but unsure if that will even work. I can’t move my data over to the new app without paying. So, I can’t even use the free version of the new app. If the developer allows old users to either download their old entries to a text file on their phones or migrate data without a paid subscription I would likely change my review.

Nice app. Wish you could just select questions rather than choose between templates.

Old version. Please don’t get rid of the old version. I really like the old version. Please allow us to name templates. I don’t like the new version and worry about investing my time journaling in an app if I fear it’ll be unrecognizable after redesign.

I wish the widget accent color changed. Got a subscription just to do that and it didn’t change

Simple and effective. I was a new user to Classic when this version came out so I don’t have the conversion issues and I LOVE this app. Great to have multiple journals with multiple views (weekly, daily etc) so I can focus on different things in each. You’ve made my journaling SO much easier! Yes, lots of typos but I create my own templates anyway, sometimes inspired by the stock questions but more typically based on my personal needs.

Can’t sign in?. I was actually kind of excited for the new version! So I’m trying out the 6 month free trial... but it says my original account doesn’t exist and I can’t bring in anything from my old account? I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or what, but if I can’t bring in my old information, I won’t be sticking with the new app. Doesn’t seem worth it to me to have two different apps for different data storage. Please fix!

Password reset does not work. I am super frustrated - paid for an annual subscription 6 months ago and now the forgot password issue will not work. When you click on the link it just takes you back to the app with no option to reset link. DO NOT BUY. TERRIBLE PRODUCT.

Needs Some Work But Overall Good. The generated questions are clearly written by an ESL speaker, the grammar is awkward. Please get someone to edit those, it’s really distracting! I tend to use the app at the end of the day and want to questions to be more reflective. It would be cool to be able to filter ‘beginning of day questions’ vs ‘end of day’ questions so it makes more sense for the time we use it. Attaching photos is better with this version, it could be visually better but I’d love the devs to keep working on that. I don’t mind subscription if it’s polished and keeps improving. It’s still the best daily journal app I’ve found. Just please get someone to fix the questions!!

I loooove tuits app. Its my second brain. I would love to left handwrittig notes in the Grid. 😍 If you Guys do that it will become the best app eveeeeer

Stick with GD classic. Grid Diary 2 is awful. I paid for premium and spent hours troubleshooting how to import classic data. They finally fixed whatever bug was preventing the import, and when I saw the new layout I was shocked and appalled. From a design standpoint, GD2 is awful. The layout looks lousy-- images especially. It is also far less intuitive than the classic version. I'm so angry I could swear. I'm deleting the expensive new version and keeping the original. I still love GD classic: simple, customizable, elegant. The developers dropped the ball on GD2. They got my hopes up. What a waste of time.

Basically just classic. This is basically just classic with a different look because you have to have a membership to do any of the things advertised for the new app

Not subscription worthy. The original app is great and incredibly helpful. To me, this version just has a few extra unnecessary gimmicks and a subscription only pricing model. I don’t feel the new gimmicks and modest service justify a subscription. I think they would be totally worth a one time in-app-purchase; but no way would I pay an ongoing fee for them. But I also have to add a “buyer beware” to this review regarding how they are handling the transition from version 1 to version 2. I bought the pro version of the original Grid Diary just 2 months ago only to find out today it will no longer be updated - starting *last* week. Gee, thanks for the warning. I believe developers should be compensated for new releases and understand the need to focus on the new release; but to suddenly cut off updates for customers like myself who paid for the app just a few weeks ago is incredibly disappointing. I believe the fair thing would be to continue maintenance releases for the old version for at least a year so anyone who spent money on it will get a fair return on their investment. By suddenly stopping all updates on the old app, it feels like the dev is trying to force users to spend money on this app.

Not very happy. I was really pleased with the original grid diary.. of course they have to change it and make it way more complicating than it already was. What is even more frustrating! You cant even transfer old data from the original grid diary to the new one! That alone will be the reason I cancel my membership with this new grid diary 2 and stick to the 5$ app i already paid for! very frustrating when developers create new apps you pay for them. Then they create a new one to which you cant export your data and they expect you to pay yearly Or monthly for it?!?!? No way...very unhappy with this... if they the journals that they added honestly what's the point of that... grid diary was amazing because it was minimalistic! Simple and easy.. now they complicated it way too much

Great for casual diary. The grid concept is great! It solves the problem of remembering what to say in a diary. Recommend 🍭

I love the layout, but. Every time I try to write something in the template the words disappear. I can’t see what I’m writing until after I save it. It’s really frustrating because I’m typing blind and I can’t see to correct my typos

All my entries are gone. I loved using this app, until my journal and all the entries within it disappeared 3 days ago. It’s all gone.

Helpful!. So good! Really helped me with my mental health and depression 😀😋

Surprise subscription fee. This app looked great. It probably is , but I really hold disdain for apps that surprise me with fees halfway or full on into setup. Sure, there’s a free version. I probably would have liked it. Unfortunately I now I won’t find out.

Journaling App Found!!. After testing I don’t know how many apps, I think I have finally found the one I will commit to. I like the questions format to prompt topics to write about, it has a nice, clean design, and finally, having the daily/week/monthly/annual grids is great for mindfulness reflecting and planning ahead. Very nice app.

Love this guided diary app!. I have been using Day One for several years. Now I’d love to put some structures into my diary, aiming to really logging my life and thoughts (almost) every day. This app satisfies my need. Their Cloud Input function works well. And I find it a clever solution. Thank you for developing the app. I wish you prosperity and success!

Fantastic. I’ve been a long time user of Grid and liked it before but was struggling how to USE this as a planner too which is what the new version does. I can journal, plan, review and can have many journals not to mention unlimited attachments all in this one app. Thank you so much for staying current with your application. I have spent more for other online planners and this eliminates those now! The annual cost to me is FAR LESS then the cost of my time to incorporate all the above in one place! Again thank you - one EXTREMELY SATISFIED longtime customer!

Great. I just wish that the passcode was free :(

Almost great. Excellent idea and good execution. Thankfully has data export and import using JSON. Different timeframes through categories for day, week, month, year is nice. I see a Mac desktop app is coming 2019. I can’t wait for that. I am a bit worried about data privacy. They say they own our data in the documentation. It syncs using their servers. I’m not sure what country they are in as the developers appear to be based in China. They say data is encrypted but who knows how strong or whether they store the keys. I’m probably not going to be writing anything too private. One missing feature I have seen is the ability to view all of your entries for a single question in a list. You can do this by tag or category, but not the individual boxes in a grid. In my opinion Siri shortcuts for data entry and 3D Touch menu on the home icon are very handy in journal apps and would be useful here too. If the above features were implemented this would be a 4.5 star app. If they used iCloud sync and unshared private keys to ease my privacy worries, it would be 5. But overall a unique take on journalling.

Use daily. I use this app daily to support my bullet journaling. I like the grids to help me keep all my thoughts organized. I have a place to keep track of my diary, my meds, and my spending. I would rate it higher if they got rid of the stupid line break after the time stamp. I use the time stamp for my meds and my diary and I spend a lot of time deleting the line breaks so it lines up with my entry and I can tell what med I took at what time. For something I use daily I wish it was less tedious to use. I also had to contact their customer service 3 times before they even sent a response. It’s the best diary app I’ve used so far so I’m hoping they improve the little annoyances I’ve come across so far.

I am WOW'ed by this App !. This app has EVERYTHING that I have been trying to find in a self help, personal, goal setting and personal accountability journal. The prompts give me no excuses to think "I have nothing to write about" and they keep things interesting. I am currently on the trial version, and normally with many trials, I plan to let them expire - not this one. Take my Monnnneeeey on this one haha. I've committed myself to using this app twice a day. Once in the morning and once after work or just in the early evening. It is a great way to track my habits, my thinking, my goals and my life. I love personal development, and this app is top of the line!. ** to developers ** is there a way that you can allow window re sizing to "stick" this is one thing that I have noticed. When I dash the application down, and re open it, it defaults back to a smaller size, and I like to have more window room to look through all of the content.

No Pencil support. The prompts are great. The layout is nice and simplistic. But no Pencil option is a total deal breaker for me. The act of writing is what I was after. I’ll be onboard once I can use a pencil.

Perfect.. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the new version! I loved the old version but it was a bit limited. This is perfect & does everything I want it to do. And with the subscription it allows you to have unlimited journals, which Day One doesn’t do, and unlimited tags which Google Keep (as much as I love it) doesn’t do. So, this is great for me. And I hate that now you have to have subscriptions for every other app you download these days, but this is very reasonable, so I don’t mind.

Doesn’t sync. Have had App less than two weeks. Stopped syncing a few days ago. No response from support.
