Level change?. I love this app but I don’t like the fact that I can’t change my language level! My Korean level is advanced but I wanted to check out the beginner level then I never could change it again!! Could you please make the level option more flexible??! Thank you

LOVE. As someone who consumes Korean content, I love that this app uses videos to help you understand it better. I especially like it because they replay the part you need to learn multiple times! You could even slow down the speed if you need to, so you can fully hear the sentence. This app makes learning fun because I get to watch clips of my favorite idols all while developing my listening and speaking skills. I highly recommend if you enjoy consuming K-content as well! P.S - I have tried A LOT of apps, and this has so far been my favorite!

Great way to learn. Fun way to learn Korean, really only takes about 10 minutes per mini lesson. It’s nice to hear yourself back as you attempt new words. My favorite aspect is that it highlights the words that you struggle with for pronunciation.

A great way to learn English. I’ve always tried a lot of apps to learn English and stopped to used them because I got bored with the same theme. When I saw some previous of this app I was not sure if try it or not but once I start with the first fun interactive lesson I got impressed and hook by this app, honestly I love it and it’s worth it ✌️

Love this English learning app!. English is my second language, but I have worked and lived in the US for more than 10 years. I have no problem speaking and understanding. However sometimes I found people hard to understand my speaking, because of my accent and pronunciation. The app helps me pay attention to the tone and allow me to learn the accent.

EVERYTHING IS PLUS. I really like this app, but recently, Cake has literally made everything PLUS+ only. It is really frustrating because so many people can’t pay 13$ a month for this. I have already completed all the free classes, even the intermediate ones. (I am just a beginner) ON TOP OF THAT, I one day went to my review sentences (sentences that you can save and study later) and it went from 20 sentences to 10!!! 🤬for cake plus it is UNLIMITED. It went from saving 20 to 10 😭. Also if you mess up a question you loose a heart and you get 5. After you loose all those, you have to watch ads to get more. The number went from 5 TO 3😫PLS CHANGE THIS

Nice and Entertaining. It isnt as toilsome and “determine” your own rules and self guiding as duolingo. This app helps you learn relevant expressions and phrases most commonly said in korean. It really helps a lot even more since the developers went the extra step of adding videos and native korean dialogue into the curriculum. Thank you Cake! 🔥

My daily portion of Cake. This app is unexpectedly very interactive and fun. It’s not like the rest of the apps and that’s definitely a plus for Cake. My English is a C1 Level and it’s helping me to improve every day. But most importantly to practice and never lose track. I can take each lesson at my own pace which makes it perfect!

This is so fun and applicable 💜. I’ve been using duolingo for a while, and it’s helped me learn a lot of vocabulary and get the hang of Korean sentence structure. But Cake’s speaking practice and building grammatically correct expressions from syllables has helped me to remember useful, real life expressions that one would need when traveling.

Cake is helping me so much!. This app is very easy and simple, and I have learned several symbols in just 3 days! It is also very hard to get distracted (which means a lot coming from a person who has adhd) and the app layout is very pleasant. 5/5 stars I recommend!

Daily Communication, native language. Highly recommend for a person who wants to learn how native speakers say in a daily conversation, down to earth and easy to learn. What app needs to improve is to have an introduction before using the app (how to use, the benefit, how to hit the goals..). It takes time for a while to explore about this app, but it is worth for learning native English.

Great, just a few suggestions. So I downloaded Cake because I want to learn Korean, for my dream vacation is to Korea, and as you know, if you go to Korea, you need to learn some Korean to be able to communicate with the locals. So far, it’s pretty good, although, I do think it would help me improve more quickly if they had more speaking lessons. When the lesson requires you to watch videos, I find it hard to understand what they are saying since it’s so fast-paced. However, I just started using this app so I’m sure I’m just overreacting. Other than that it’s a really useful app that I highly recommend for beginners! (This app was recommended to me by my friend who is also learning Korean) Have a good night! :)

Perfect. This is the perfect app if you want to improve your pronunciation and if you want to learn a different language! I don’t have much to say since words can’t explain how helpful this app has been.

An English Speech Therapist learning Korean. As an American Speech Therapist, I really love using this app. I love that it takes the time to break down each consonant and vowel letter, and sound so letter-sound correspondence is able to be established. As a speech therapist, I know just how important it is to establish letter-sound correspondence and recognition in order to continue to build strong language skills, and pre-literacy skills. This course is fantastic!

No SKZ. i got this app bc it said that it could teach me korean w kpop idols (i saw an ad) however i only saw bts most of the time w the exception of a few pther artist. However there were only a few kpop idols and not my ults (stray kids) the app is fine however id like for advertising not to say ‘kpop idols’ when there isnt much content on idols except for BTS (no hate btw i love bts this review isnt about that) I saw like 5 vids on txt, and about >5 of other groups like svt, nwjs, and 2pm.

Amairis. I just started using this and so far it great. Definitely will be using more because I’m trying to learn Korean. My Korean is getting better but my English is getting worse lol but so far it’s a good app to use if your trying to learn a new language.

I really like it.. I’ve used a few different language learning apps, but this is definitely becoming one of my favorites. It’s user friendly, the content is clear and helpful, and most of the features are free for the most part. I really recommend for anyone who hasn’t used a language learning app before or are short on time but still want to learn.

THE BETTER DUOLINGO. Right now, so many people are trying to learn Korean because of their favorite K-pop groups. I am one of the many people learning Korean. Cake has helped me so much and it helps you learn in a fun way! You earn stars with everything you do! It is very easy to work with. There is also a lesson where you can learn to say everyday sentences by a video. It’s not like Duolingo where you have to solve weird, random sentences. And most people may love this fact… YOU CAN LEARN KOREAN BY BTS. Not literally with them sadly, but you can watch videos of them and learn more! Overall, I think that Cake is a VERY GOOD way to learn English or Korean! FIVE STARS!

Cake is the step between textbooks and speaking with native speakers. I have studied Korean with textbooks for about a year. When I tried speaking to Koreans at my college, I had a hard time recalling the things I learned from my textbook and putting them into everyday use. Cake shows you grammar structures and other things you learn in a daily context. It is the step that helps you get from just studying with textbooks to actually speaking Korean with people. Highly recommend.

Great App. I have tried many different language learning apps for Korean, but this one stands out to me. I love how interactive it is. I love how they take excerpts of videos with the expressions you learn from real Korean conversations, so you can hear how they are used naturally. Great App!

Kinda Disappointed. It’s an amazing app.. but when I repeat after them saying exactly what they told me to say it says it’s wrong and I need to try again. Even when I listen back to it and listen to their example and there’s no difference in the way it’s pronounced.

Update?. I don’t know what happened exactly, but I was only two more units away from completing all units. But when I went and checked the app, it said all plus only. Now I can’t access it unless I subscribe to the plus only, which I won’t. I don’t know if it is a glitch or something but I hope they would get rid of that. But overall the app itself it’s great.

Great Learning App. I like the many lessons they have to teach you different phrases and also gives you videos to watch to hear how different words are used in everyday settings. I enjoy it and I have picked up a lot since using.

Language Level criteria. How I would like to know is that how Cake app recognises my English level or my progress in English learning. Or all are contents are for all kinds of students with different levels and learning have to select the topic relevant to their backgrounds. If not, how can I choose and practise the lessons related to my proficiency phase actually I am in intermediate learners.

great. i took 5 years of french in high school and college combined and i’ve been trying to learn spanish for 5 years and this app truly has done the most. i’m learning hangul and i have never learned so quickly and Cake makes it incredibly easy to stay with it and come back everyday which is what other language apps lack. thank you so much

Great App. I really like this app as it lets you take videos in small increments. The videos are even in categories. I really love this app, and I even have the free version. For me, it helps to learn repeatedly. With the little quizzes, I feel like I remember the words better and even pick up other words. It’s better than nothing at all!!

The best app but it needs to improve a bit. I really love Cake, but now I don't like that the most of the videos are PLUS, before it was better, at least only 25% PLUS and the other free, now it's like 75% PLUS and the other FREE, also, I'd rather the videos to be longer, like 1 minutes, I don't feel like I learn a lot only watching a 15 second video, I don't go much into the context and finally, improve a little bit more the pronunciation, when I record a audio

Makes it so easy to learn!. I’m a very visual person, so how they compare the shapes of the alphabet letters to objects really helps me memorize them easily! So far I really love it, and I’m very grateful that there is a video with each lesson!! Makes it feel more personal and as an autistic person, this also makes it feel less overwhelming to learn. ❤️ 10/10

I love this app!!!. I finally found an app that’s actually helped me learn Korean and I've actually retained what I've learned. Watching videos and using real life scenarios has really helped me grasp the language and made it super fun to learn! I also love how it doesn't make you pay once you get to a certain point, you can use most of its features and still do all the lessons for free. By paying you just get a few more resources to help learning be even easier and in depth. I will definitely buy the premium version soon once I become more consistent and serious about it. I definitely recommend this app!!

Very good and easy to learn. The app has a ton of different ways you can learn korean. You can watch videos explaining how to pronounce vowels and it’s explained very well, you can even learn with k pop idols to make it more fun and learn with a ton of different people and in a ton of different ways its a great app and i really love using it recommend if you wanna learn korean but you get bored easily its really fun and i love it😌🧌

Easy to use for this beginner. Clean design makes navigating the app very easy. I was nervous- not knowing where to begin, but after purchasing a book made with Cake (BTS Recipe Book) I decided this app could be a great starting point. Speaking as someone who isn’t the best with languages and is still recovering from the embarrassment trauma from high school French and college Spanish, this app is making it fun, without pressure. Oh! And I love seeing k-pop and other pop culture references. Most importantly, I feel I am learning the building blocks to a new language, not just being thrown in with greetings and “where’s the bathroom”. Though you can skip ahead to those if you really need to 😉

Easy to learn!. I’ve been trying to learn Korean for a while since I have been wanting to go to Korea for my next travel destination but I was afraid I was not going to understand anything at all so I decided to learn the basics but it was difficult learning by yourself. Skip a day and you forget it all trust me 😅😅 but this app made it easier. You will NOT be fluent after even 100 lessons but trust me it’s okay it takes patience and a lot of work! I’m trying my best as well, and I hope to be fluent enough to go for my quince! Atleast to hold a conversation and ask for services here and there. Definitely enjoying this app and its so easy to use!

Very fun! Never understood better.. I am a big fan of K-dramas and K-pop. So much so that it is a part of my everyday life. The only problem was that I didn’t speak Korean or could be able to understand it. There’s no classes for me to learn where I live, so I’ve had to turn to apps. I’ve tried learning Korean on another app, but I wasn’t fully comprehending it. This app has already helped me improve so much with giving me easy things to remember Hangul! I definitely recommend if you’re a fan of anything Korean.

Amazing app. I’ve been learning Korean for about 1 week and I’ve just started using cake and before I was not able to understand any Hangul at all. I’ve tried learning it before cake and it just never stuck with me but when using cake I learned the entire Hangul alphabet in 2 days!

Good. Very good app for start to learn english

Voice recording. The app overall is good but the audio receiver can not pick up my recordings when there’s a bit of background noises. It’s frustrating to keep repeating the word over and over again when I clearly enunciated it before. This is the first Korean learning app I had with this problem. Other than this it’s good and let me learn basics well.

I’m so disappointed. I did my first day streak yesterday that I was on for over 1 hour and 30 minutes but then today when I went to use the app, it brought me all the way back to unit 1 (I was on unit 8) and it says that if I want to do the other units I have to pay. I’m so disappointed and frustrated as I thought this was the app I would use for the rest of my Korean studying time but I was wrong. It’s just like every other app, makes you pay after you use it once. I can’t express how upset I am as I thought I finally found an app that was different than all the others..

I already am good at Korean I just need to work on my pronunciations. it’s hard at first for some people to learn. so I help kids my age learn my level in Korean. Not accessible for everyone. This app only gives one basic lesson and everything else is inaccessible unless you pay for a membership. This app is practically useless unless you pay for the membership since everything requires one.

Very clear explanation for beginners to learn. I was using Duolingo to learn Korean for a month. I find it sometimes hard to hear the pronunciation clearly. But Cake is different, I like a real person talking and shows the words for beginners to associate with the sound. I also like that it has the writing practice which helps memorizing the words. Fun!

I am under 18 and trying to Lear Korean, I don’t think this is very helpful. The app should give more lessons to everyone and not just premium users. Deleting the app right now.

I love it!. It helps a lot with the basics and even more in depth. And if your a K-Pop fan like me, then you will love it! You can learn from watching short clips of for example, BTS. It’s really helpful and I really recommend it if your wanting to learn Korean!

AWESOME. I’ve used many apps and programs to try and learn Korean, but this is the first that actually feels like I’m being taught by an actual Korean. I love that it makes you say what you learned and checks your pronunciation FOR FREE! Lovely app! Worth the download😺!

Great app. I enjoyed using this app to learn Korean. I am a K drama fan so watching videos of them speaking Korean from the K drama is very helpful and makes it more fun. Most of all I enjoy being graded on my diction when I speak Korean so that I am not assuming I am doing it correctly.

35 days in and I’m nearly fluent!. I’ve been using cake in combination with other methods and cake has been the key! The videos combined with the drills make it so much easier to understand. Learning with cake feels like being taught by a friend.

I LOVE IT but... cake is such a great app. it helped me learn hangeul (korean alphabet) in less than 15 minutes!! the voices and kpop references are awesome! but almost everything it cake plus. i would recommend this app to help with hangeul and then mix it with duolingo. it really helps !! 💋

New favorite Korean learning tool!. I love that this app allows me to hear my pronunciation. I use Duolingo predominantly and they don’t offer a voice recording option for Korean. Cake has been a game changer

My opinion. This app is good and like easy to use, no offense but in my opinion Duolingo is kinda better tho since I think that duo it’s much easier to learn with and like sends u challenges and competitions so that u can keep on and duo it’s much easier to use and fun. No offense I respect Cake!

Why you should install cake. Cake is an easy and fun app to learn Korean. I have gotten way better at speaking in Korean and I understand everything with the simplified explanations and ways to memorize the words and symbols.

Cake is so good. Cake is good because sally actually teaches me the alphabet I’m a Kpop fan so I started learning korean by the way cake is better then duolingo because Duolingo just says korean stuff but does not tell me the words but cake actually helps me learn korean.
