Wyze - Make Your Home Smarter Comments & Reviews 2026

Nice cameras. I’m guessing like anything new they have some bugs to work out. But they have gotten pricey over the last year or so with the monthly charges for video and other features. When i first got these i could pop in sd card and never had a monthly charge to be able to watch playback video right then. Now they have several different offers for monthly fees. The one they should offer is a app for smart TV’s so we can have real 24/7 monitoring without having to pull up the app on the phone or tablet. I’m talking have a dedicated tv so customers can just look up and see which ever camera they choose instead of having to find their phone , open their phone, open their wyze app, open which ever camera they are trying to see and then hope their isn’t an update. Their is a lot of steps to get to what you are trying to see and a lot can happen on that period of time. They are awesome for the quick back let me check to see what is going on around the house or in a room. But not for a first response security camera system. Great image, great product selection, the sound is a one star. The flood light with camera is awesome besides the sound. I have ten wyze camera set ups but only use 5.

Quality of Service & New Subscription Service Scam. I have had a camera by this company since before this corporate scam known as “CamPlus” where you could record onto the cloud as well as a micro SD chip your footage. One Day they removed this feature at, ironically, the same day the people across the street backed up into my car, and took off. (Kinda was the reason I decided to BUY a “SECURITY” camera) So due to having no proof, besides my own eyes since the camera was no longer recording thanks to the overnight addition to a new feature that you had to NOW subscribe to for recording and playback. To add a subscription to an already free service that was working decent in the first place just to take money out of peoples pockets where you didn’t need to, is a scam. To add MORE or some other service for a subscription, sure. Some of us were already consumers/customers who used this for what it’s purpose was and you turned around and took away the main feature “security” and due to that. I had no proof of the damage that was done to my vehicle, I had to pay more insurance since I had to make a claim and they took it as “I’m at fault” since the camera that’s one job was to record the activity around my vehicle, and your company failed to deliver. The second star was courtesy, not really even deserving. More out of pity and hoping that the company straightens up and stops screwing over their customers.

Very grateful for this product. I love having the Wyler products; they work extremely well, the picture is clear, and it makes me feel secure in my home. When I first moved into my home, a couple months in and someone had broken in while my boyfriend and I were at work. It was a worrying situation, and even more so when him and I split up and he had to move out, leaving me here alone. I’m very petite so it would be difficult to fight off an intruder. I felt unsafe, and I couldn’t afford a lot of the security systems that were on the market, but then I came across these cameras. I started trying out they’re other products as well and I really like them a lot! I have two of their cameras, one is outside and the other in my living area, and then I use the doorbell as well. The product itself I don’t have any issues with, but in the app, when watching any of the event clips, I wish there was a “next clip” and “previous clip” options so you don’t have to try and remember which one you were just watching cuz you have to scroll all the way back to wherever the video was. I’ve accidentally rewatched the same clip so many times cuz I forgot which one it was. That’s my only complaint so far and I’ve been using them for 5 months now.

Ya Get What Ya Pay For. I have 2 Wyze devices, a video doorbell and the sprinkler controller. While the doorbell has been buggy at times (usually after a power surge) the sprinkler controller is non stop trouble. It is constantly thrown off-line and the only fix is to delete the device and reinstall. This means setting up all zones with each reinstall. I have had to do this 3x in the last 3 days. It was okay last night but this morning it’s offline again. The app says I need to update the sprinkler firmware and sends me to the App Store. Once there there’s no way to update the app. On top of everything else, Cox has upgraded our internet to 5g and the sprinkler app won’t work on 5g. When the sprinkler works, it’s fine. But since it has to be controlled through the app (which is why I switched from my older controller in the first place), it’s more trouble than it’s worth imo. Buyer beware. Update: Wyze support listened to my problem patiently and sympathetically. After reviewing the steps I have taken to get the sprinkler controller working and no success, Wyze has offered to send a replacement. The support team was easy to work with and I am still willing to continue purchasing Wyze products.

Unusable because of Cam plus ads. Too much in your face pops to subscribe to Wyze Cam plus every time you want to use and it is not easy to close the advertisement and navigate back to where you can watch the live stream. I paid for the hardware and I have not experienced this type of brazen attempt at the marketing. For example, a similar technology and product like Ring (which also has a advanced subscription program) does not inundate you with so much in your face marketing. They also have this option of playback subscription in one of the menus . Think if anytime the bell rings and what you are offered is not the live stream but a Ring Plus subscription offer. Imagine how unusable the product would be. That is what Wyze is. We are using it as a baby monitor and also used it in the past for monitoring an elderly person, which we then abandoned. Whenever we got a motion detection notification, we were concerned if the elderly person has not fallen, but what we were confronted with is a subscription offer for Wyze plus which also would not go away with a simple click but somehow you have to learn to dismiss it. First dismiss the popup, then close the offer screen, and then get to the home page, and form there you can click another button go to live stream. Whereas like Ring, it should have immediately taken you to the live stream whenever there was an alert.

Horrible investment, Go with Ring Security Instead!. We purchased two Wyze Cams after hearing great recommendations for these security cameras. We had been wanting to add a sense of security after having our first child, we did plenty of research and got great feedback, so we invested into Wyze. Everything was great for awhile but then our cameras began to have trouble connecting to our server. After many headaches trying to get our cameras to connect and run again we had our internet provider send out a technician to see if our WiFi was the issue, the technician couldn’t find any issues with our router, we even got all new equipment in hopes to resolve the issue. However, the cameras still would not connect, so after weeks of dealing with this horrible headache we packed up our Wyze cameras, and invested into a ring security camera bundle and it has been the best decision we made. We’ve never had issues with our Ring cameras the way Wyze cameras caused issues, even with updates and all. Seriously, save yourself the sanity and headache of these low quality cameras and invest your time and money into better quality security system such as Ring. Everyone has different experiences and I’m glad others seem to be having better luck but unfortunately that wasn’t the case for us. Wyze has been a huge disappointment and waste of money in our experience.

Privacy Policy and forced use of Trial. Your products are in my house. You should not be monitoring my webpages or selling my data. I like the product, but don’t need a company to monitor my internet usage/cookies, etc when I use the app. Why is there a need to collect data to “Personalize your online experience and the advertisements you see when you use our Devices or Services or third-party platforms based on your preferences, interests, and browsing and purchasing behavior;”??? How does allowing a 3rd party the ability to monitor web pages viewed and the time spent on each page make a better camera? I prefer a company that makes money on a great product and not by selling my information. Furthermore, to set up a camera I’m FORCED to accept additional disclosures for a 2-week trial of a paid subscription. I can’t get by the camera setup screen unless I hit Continue, which means I HAVE to accept all ADDITIONAL terms for a service I DON’T want. I do not accept the terms. I do not want the trial, but the only option provided is to accept IF I am to use the camera. I’e has these cameras and set them up when my WiFi changed. Now I’m stuck with being FORCED to accept additional terms, because they’re cheap cameras that have to be set up from scratch to change the WiFi. I’ll be looking for cameras and services that respect my privacy and choices better.

Love the Wyze cam but have a couple suggestions... I have the Wyze 3 cam for my two cats. So far I love having these but for one of my cats it’s important I be notified after she uses her litter. I subscribed to plus for the Alexa integration so that Alexa can announce it for me. I set it up, waited and nothing.. no notification even though it recorded her using the litter. The next morning, at 5:30am, Alexa announces (really loud) that the litter box has been used, and it was my husband who was changing the litter, lol.. so apparently it can tell the difference between human and pet, which is nice.. I would love to only have it notify my of my cat using it, but in Alexa there is only an option for human AI detection. I can’t set it up for the pet AI, which defeats the purpose. I’ve canceled my plus as there’s no point of it now. The other suggestion is just an app issue. I would love it if, since I have Wyze on my iPad, I could use it in landscape mode. If I want to look at events, they are locked in portrait mode and I have to constantly flip my iPad around to read events, then click on one and then it goes to landscape where I have to flip it back. I know this is trivial, but it would be nice if I could just stay in landscape mode. I do love my little cams though and hope maybe these two issues might be resolved in an update someday. :)

Leave well enough alone. Now I don’t know how to put this but I Really do love WYZE products. I am going to give them 4 stars because the new APP rolled out the other day and I could tell right off the bay something was a little off. First off WYZE if you are going to change the whole APP please direct the consumers to a how to page on a step by step usage of the APP. It doesn’t bother me I will figure it out but all the time I am messing with it I am thinking about the people who get there system up and running perfectly and they update the APP and BAM everything changes. The first thing I noticed is my groups were messed up what I mean is on the device tab when you make a group it’s supposed to take it away in the device tap but no you have your group and your devices still on the device tab. But anyway there are a few more things. But that was my biggest concern was IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHANGE THE WHOLE LAYOUT PLEASE insert a webpage to help others. Like I said before I dont care I will still love your products I buy them just to push the limits of them and take them apart to see what improvements I can make for myself and see what configuration I can make. But anyway have a great day

Not worth it. I have had issues with these cameras since day 1 and I use two for baby monitors. First, when you turn up the audio it sounds very staticky. Second, the phone app glitches all the time and you think you have live stream running then check the time stamp and it’s been frozen for however long. Third, I have to toggle the microphone icon (creating a noise in baby’s room) to retrieve audio. Fourth, the speaker icon has fully disappeared from my split screen so I’m unable to access audio for either screens. Fifth, the rules you can set are very limiting especially if you want one camera to trigger audio if a sound is detected when using split screen (doesn’t exist). Sixth, when switching the video setting if you want to go from night vision to auto, to whatever else, it makes a clicking sound in the camera. And more issues that I don’t have the patience to write. I have been in touch with customer support and they’re very kind but recommend all things that are very obvious like restating the cameras, checking to make sure software and firmware is up to date, etc. Every problem I’ve had has been solved by coincidental discovery on my end. It is insanely frustrating seeing as I use these for baby monitors. The plus side is the video quality is excellent and one of the best I’ve seen for a camera as such. It’s not worth the money. It has caused more unease than any comfort when needing to monitor my kids during naps and bedtime.

Bait and switch. The company has recently decided to screw over its existing customers. When I originally purchased the cameras, it came standard with a 12 second video capture. This came with the purchase. There was no additional cost. The company also aggressively pushed monthly subscriptions to get longer video clips. But it was always pushed as optional. Wyze has now decided to force customers to pay a monthly subscription fee to get any video captures at all. Now the “free” service only takes a thumbnail snapshot, not a 12 second video. So in summary, to get what I originally paid for and used for nearly a year, I am now required to pay again, on a monthly basis. To get what I already paid for. If you purchase anything from Wyze, do not expect that what you think you are purchasing is actually what you will get. I purchased video cameras. The cameras captured videos for a year with no requirement of a monthly subscription. Now Wyze has changed what I have already purchased. They have disabled the video capability, holding my video cameras hostage as cheap snapshot cameras until I cave and pay them a monthly fee. Won’t happen. Even if I do decide to switch to a paid security camera service, I GUARANTEE it will NOT be Wyze. I will not give another penny to a company that screws over its customers.

Cams Disconnect Constantly & Other issues. Sad. This used to be really decent product. After last couple firmware updates I noticed lagging & now 4 cameras all disconnect within seconds of opening app. Its definitely a Wyze issue. I have done ALL+ troubleshooting! Disconnected power & replugged them in, restarted cams thru app, deleted & reinstalled cams, designated modem 2.4 hz to just Wyze cams, deleted & reinstalled Wyze app over 5 times now. In addition, inserted new micro SD cards because the cams no longer recognize there is a card in them & therefore cannot continuous record without an SD card. And they still freeze (but you need to look at the timestamp to see if it is actually operating because it freezes a live shot & at glance it looks like its working but it is not current live feed!!!) I contacted internet company & speed exceeds 200 and other connected items have no issues. So its not the internet. My 2.4hz is separately connected to Wyze so it can’t be affected by the dual 5hz on same modem. Until they fix the connection issues, I do not recommend this product anymore.

Webcams A Life Saver! V4. I finally bit the bullet and ordered three for outside my home. So glad I did! I live in a neighborhood where you want to keep an eye on things, lol. Since I’ve had the cameras, many people that I’ve never known about, walk in vicinity to my house, (and animals).. they didn’t do anything, but I would have had it on camera! Now I want to order some for inside! I have cats and thought they just slept all day and night. I left a camera on inside for a couple days.. cats are active all day and night! I had no idea! So great to keep an eye on their eating habits and how they get along when you aren’t there. I have v4, and the yearly subscription.. worth it.. I can watch all three cams at once on my phone.. from anywhere!! And since I will be ordering more cams, I’ll be able to see all of them at once too (with the yearly subscription.)! The quality of these little gems is stunning.. and the app makes everything so easy! I’ve sent video clips to friends the amazing things these cameras pick up and they are astounded. The sense of security these powerhouse cams give is outstanding! Highly recommend for any indoor or outdoor use!

Wyze does NOT = Wise!. avoid this product like the plague! Seems apple is just fine with allowing fake bot app reviews to artificially inflate terrible apps and products which means you are NEVER getting accurate reviews. only positive reviews coming from simps and bots that either dont know any better or are paid to inflate reviews! this app is complete garbage along with the cameras themselves. it only works correctly about 3% of the time so you absolutely do not get what you pay for in the least. security and privacy are non existent to the manufacturer along with just basic functionality! only works on 2.4 ghz wifi in 2024??!! lol says everything. you will end up physically unplugging and plugging back in and restarting the app and the camera everytime you want to change a setting or get the. camera to work and tech support is nonexistent. add that to the fact wyze had a public news media reported major "outtage" this week and you get the idea. They wouldnt even talk to the local news media about it! lol seems like they are a greedy fraudulent company to me. i wouldnt trust them at all with your security or privacy. they havent done anything to earn it and the rate they are going? doesnt look like any positive changes coming for this company any time soon. yikes! dont waste your money on them. terrible.

Needs Major Improvements. I’ve cleared everything with internet provider that it isn’t my WiFi, let’s start there. Now, not saying that Wyze isn’t great because when I initially got it, it was. However lately it has been very slow in monitoring. For example there’s about a 10 second delay when watching live streaming. When going back to view playback, it’s always freezing or doesn’t complete the video and stays stuck on 3 seconds of the playback. The quality of the video is grainy and not clear at all. Also sound is all ways off as well and I assume because of the delay, hut when watching live or playback, the sound itself goes in and out even when I know there was sound there. Also when trying to access live stream, it takes more than me having to try three times before I can actually get anything to show up. After failing the three attempts , I have to at least exit out of the app twice in order to get back in and finally have a picture up reflecting the live feed. It wasn’t like this until updates started happening. Could we please get a camera that both shows clearly and is able to have clear sound. I purchased this product to make sure there was safety in my home and now, I don’t feel that my family & I are safe. This is a major issue and Wyze have to make some major improvements. I’m trying to convince my partner not to switch, but other options are looking better and better due to the continuous trouble we’re having with Wyze.

So close, but not yet worth the hassle. The picture is crystal clear, and the features that it’s SUPPOSED to come with sound amazing. Eventually, it could be a great product! However, there is a laundry list of flaws, and the forums will attest to that. For me personally, the flaws I encountered were: dropped streams CONSTANTLY (reliable WiFi, promise), screen timeout after 10 mins on google home or a few hours on iPhone (take note those wanting constant streaming like for baby monitor or constant security monitoring- there is no way to lengthen the time the screen is active, I confirmed this with their own tech support), camera would move randomly for no apparent reason, motion detection alerts never- not once- actually alerted anyone (2 people on account, one google pixel 3 and one iPhone XS MAX) even though I confirmed several times with several people that all push and notifications were active both within the wise app and on the phones themselves, and customer service seems either burnt out or just not all there. When I asked about the 10 minute screen timeout time on the google hub they said I could simply ask google to bring up the camera every 10 mins for hours on end..... um..... what? How is that even a logical response? TL;DR wyze has great potential. Too many kinks to work out for now.

Works most of the time. Please take notice that Wyze support is offshore somewhere over in Asia (Philippines, Malaysia, China, Vietnam?). I had an issue with their latest model 360 degree camera. The Asian female had me do about a dozen different things to resolve the issue. At that time, I couldn’t complete ever task that day. When I finally completed ever task, the problem still existed. When I responded back to their support person to tell them that the camera still has the issue, I found out the female support person already closed this support ticket and that I would need to open a brand new support ticket and start all over explaining my issue, what I had already done to resolve the issue (apparently they don’t log or have access to the previous support?), and finally, waste even more off my time completing more tasks from the new support person. So, my 2-star rating is directed at the lousy support. The camera I have an issue with is less than 1-year old and the support person should have offered to replace it instead of kicking the issue down the road to the next support person. There is a reason they sell their products cheaper than their competitors - it’s because their products are inferior. Also, be aware that they keep pushing their subscription service so hard that in time their cameras will be useless unless you pay for subscription!

Notifications need help. I use the Wyze cam as a baby monitor. It works great - has a really good picture quality night and day. The app frequently loses communication with the camera and I have to restart the app to get it back up. The sound goes out A LOT. When my baby is sleeping I like to keep the app up and running on my phone for constant monitoring. Sound loss is extremely frustrating at night when I’m relying on the app to be my ears while I sleep. I also think there should be an option to change the way it notifies you of sound/motion. Instead of just one quick sound that goes away after a second, it should be a constant noise, similar to the way a phone rings, until you turn off the notification. This way, it’d actually wake you up at night, and you won’t miss a notification during the day while you’re cleaning or busy with another child or whatever, while the baby is sleeping. I have missed so many notifications at night due to this, and I am a light sleeper. There have been several nights where I check the sound log and my baby had been crying for over five minutes before I woke up due to sound loss within the app and poor notification style. For these reasons I’m going to have to buy a true baby monitor for piece of mind and safety.

Still better than most self set up camera even after their recent issue.. I know some people are saying a lot of negative things about Wyze but they are still one of the best self security options out there. Sure they had an outage though it did not only affect them. And yes when they came back online there was some security issues that affect less than 1% of all cameras but they took action right away. But having used other brands I have rarely had any problems with Wyze. They replaced faulted cameras for free, gave feed back with a skipping issue and even fixed it with a future update. Sure they are not a huge company but they are better than most big name security company’s that have been caught with employees viewing security footage. Don’t go by a few haters when giving these camera a try. They are not expensive and are easy to set up and you can choose to pay for some extra features or not at all and they are great either way. Do your own reviews as always but this is one user who recommends them.

More an more features put behind paywalls and app is dysfunctional. When I bought my first set of cameras years, recording for a short interval during an event was the default and these cameras no longer record at all unless you pay for it. I’ve added more and more cameras over the year and I’m disappointed that features have been completely taken away. Paying per camera monthly is frustrating when it used to be included in the price of just purchasing the camera. I pay for one for my safety but I’m considering discontinuing, and trying a different brand if I can afford the change over. Not just the payment frustration, with me currently paying to have my events recorded, going through them is absolutely painful. Every time I view a video and back out, it goes back to the most recent video, not where I left off. Reloading every event and trying to scroll back to where I’m trying to parse through my recordings is tedious and frustrating. If something were to happen where I needed to retrieve these recording for police documentation, this would be insanely time consuming for something so simple. The app didn’t always behave like this. It used to save where I left off so I could look at the adjacent events right after, why this would be taken away is beyond me.

Love hate relationship. There are a lot of reasons I love Wyze. It’s great as a baby monitor to be able to peek in my baby from anywhere, anytime. It has great quality, yes, even in nighttime mode. We have been using a v2 for 2 years with minimal problems. The only real issue we have is that it will sometimes disconnect from Wifi with no audible notification, and as I’ve said, we use it as a baby monitor, which means if it disconnects and turns off, especially during the night, we have no idea if baby is up crying or not. But we have loved it enough that we just bought 3 new v3 cameras. And that is where is gets rough and why I cannot give a 5 star review. Although the camera quality is still amazing, and the night vision is amazing (for indoor and outdoor), each v3 camera is constantly making crackling sounds on the app. You can’t even really hear what actual sound there is because the crackling is so loud. And again, as a baby monitor, us having the camera up on our phones at night makes for a really loud and annoying sound to try and sleep through. Wyze, PLEASE, update this!! I was so excited for these new cameras and am just so disappointed that I spent more for these and they seem to be garbage. I have read forums and I know it’s a common issue. Lastly, I do love the option to have these as outdoor cameras, but unless you have a plug up near where you want it placed, it isn’t going to give any security as anyone could just walk up and unplug it…???

Usually Work. My 5 cameras give good coverage when they work. Some will go offline at times for no apparent reason. They will sense a person or motion and show a still image while spinning but never produce a video. Yesterday our mail carrier triggered one camera at the front door. It only indicated motion-not a person. It showed a 12 second video was recorded that would not download. This spinning went on for over a minute before I gave up waiting to view it. This happens frequently. The controls for the various camera functions in the app are difficult to use and not at all intuitive. The app buttons that are designed to turn the cameras on and off will turn the cameras on or off by themselves when I try to use them. I.e., I can turn one or more camera on and the button shows my choice then it will change back to the previous setting on its own. I have set the cameras on and left the property only to check later and find one or more off. The sensitivity settings and coverage area which I set up for the cameras will sometimes change. The picture quality it very good when they record. Customer service is usually ok when you can get someone to answer hand they may be able to fix the immediate problem but not the long term issue.

It only gets worse. With each update, there is a new problem that arises. After this update, the app has been a mess. When I open the events tab to check out the alerts, it says that I’ve viewed some that I haven’t and vice versa. And when I do check an alert, it does not mark it as viewed like it normally would. It’s always glitching from viewed to not viewed. Also, when I click on an alert from a few hours ago and try to check the playback, it will not run the playback from a few hours ago. Instead it will run the playback only 5 minutes back from the current time. Then I have to scroll through to get back to three hours ago and find the time the alert was sent out. This was never the case, playback would actually play back the time (to the seconds) of the alert. I also have nasty feedback when I watch the cameras live and there is no sound besides the static feedback. The events also record the feedback so it’s hard to hear what’s really being detected as “sound” when the static is constantly in the way. I have the most up to date firmware and app, both don’t get better, they get worse after each update. When they need us to pay for a service, even a $1, they won’t hesitate to email and notify us. I’ve had a ticket number with the issue open for a month now and no response.

Once Great, Now Disappointing. ’ve been a dedicated Wyze user since the earliest models, initially drawn by their affordability, functionality, and commitment to making security accessible. Sadly, it’s clear the company has taken a sharp turn from those values, choosing instead to prioritize a subscription-heavy model that hinders genuine functionality. Over time, I’ve seen features that were once standard or promised gradually placed behind paywalls, which feels like a calculated move by the developers to extract more revenue from long-time users rather than innovate or improve. The consistent shift toward monetization through subscriptions, while sacrificing the product’s original promise, is disheartening. It feels as if Wyze has chosen to abandon their early adopters and loyal customer base. It’s disappointing that features which should be fundamental to security – such as certain alerts and monitoring tools – now require monthly fees. As a long-time supporter, I’m saddened to say I won’t be purchasing another Wyze cam again. It would be insulting to receive a scripted response or platitude from Wyze “thanking me for my feedback” – the issues here are widely known among users, and we don’t need more dismissive responses. This isn’t a call for reassurance; it’s a genuine disappointment with a brand I used to trust.

Everyday I get less Wyze.. I’ve been a long time user. Since generation one. As time progresses the whole system gets more and more broken and useless. The app crashes constantly, freezes, or is unresponsive. I’ve tried everything but it’s almost like my whole system has become useless the longer I use it. My baby monitor went from integral to my baby’s raising to officially useless at tracking my toddler. I can’t emphasize enough how the whole system went down hill. Camera notifications are random and unreliable. It tells me about the shadow of the trees consistently but when my catalytic converter was stolen off my car in my own driveway it didn’t even register a sound notification. The lights either have delayed response from the app or they just go to maximum brightness which is counterintuitive to bedtime routine for my toddler as they use to be great nightlights. The doorbell doesn’t work through the app anymore. It alerts the chime right quick and then continues to signal the chime on repeat. But I can’t use the app to then talk to the person at my door. I gave up on Wyze sense literally the same week I got those inoperable things and as such I refuse to try the generation two setup. I loved all these products. I used them to the point where I don’t even know what a life without them was like which is why now that they are mostly a nuisance over convenience I’m burned by the fact I purchased them all to begin with. As I said, every day I get a little less wyze in life.

Not a good long term option. The system was easy to install, connect and worked perfectly for about a year and a half. I had been using my phone and assumed the alarm was setting because the countdown continued when you hit armed in the app on my phone. It wasn’t until a family member tried to set the alarm with the keypad that I realized there was an issue…the alarm wasn’t setting, leaving my home unprotected with no way of knowing that if only using the app. Replaced the keypad and all was well for about 2 weeks then it stopped working again. Deleted then added everything back, replaced all the batteries and guess what…system still isn’t working. The worst part is that calling for assistance is a waste of time because they can only provide basic recommendations like resetting the system. When that doesn’t work your only option is to receive assistance via email, which is a complete waste of time. The equipment, specifically the hub and keypad don’t last more than 2 years, and by then your warranty is no longer in effect so you’ll be paying out of pocket for replacement parts. The cameras and sensors still work but the hub and keypad are poor quality and Wyze doesn’t stand behind their products.

Don’t get outdoor cam. This applies to outdoor cam only not the indoor/ outdoor v3. Those work great. I’d give those 4 stars. However the outdoor cam is buggy and fails often requiring hard resets and hours of troubleshooting to get them working again. They also still don’t have a function to record video to sd card even tho it comes with an sd card. The part that makes it a 1 star is you can’t even sell the camera if you are tired of all the problems and you just want to get rid of it and buy the v3 cameras, It’s locked to your account so you can’t transfer ownership. Complete garbage. Buyer beware!! If you must use one of these cameras you’re not completely boned because wyze support will answer you and they will send replacements for things not working just know that you will be spending a lot of time talking with them and hours of troubleshooting that resolve temporarily but then you have to do it again next week and it never ends. I have spent an entire day trying to get one of these back online before. I work in an IT department so it’s not my lack of common sense causing any of these issues. Do yourself a favor and buy a long (usb-a to mini) extension cable or super long power/data cables and get the V3 cameras even for outdoors. You will have no problems with those cameras.

Great expectations; modest experience. In theory, the Wyze app allows users to easily control a variety of programmable home devices (think light bulbs, cameras, locks, and more). In practice, the experience is mixed. The app allows “scheduled” events (such as lights turning on and off on schedules or with sunset-sunrise timing). But the user interface for managing those schedules is unintuitive and requires much more user attention than it should. Especially after power/internet failures (glitches which are common in the real world), the app and devices often fail to recover themselves, and require users to set up again. Control of cameras has gotten better, but the interface is likewise challenging. In addition to the unintuitive interface, the app’s visual design is built on a very “modern,” but impractically thin text font in a tiny size (to allow squeezing lots of controls onto few screens). Moreover, the text is colored “light gray” against a white background. And the app uses only a single color (a milquetoast green) for buttons, icons, etc. The overall effect creates a difficult-to-navigate interface with lots of tiny text and controls. So, the concept is very good, but the execution still needs a significant overhaul with the user experience at its center.

Satisfied Customer. I am a person that finds comfort in knowing that I can find answers to things that otherwise would be unknown and could create insecurities. I have Wyze cameras around and inside my home. And in many cases, I have been able to identify potential prowlers, like someone scoping out the neighborhood at night or critters getting into things. I’ve helped neighbors identify missing packages that were said to be delivered but never made it out of the courier’s van, etc. I am impressed with the simple yet very effective features and accessibility with my Wyze cameras and the ability of using a micro SD memory card as well as service to cameras I choose. 24 hour recording is a great option to have. So much bang for your buck in my opinion. The quality of the devices are not lacking either. I still have 1st generation cameras working great outdoors and they are not even intended for outdoor use. To be honest, I actually have been wanting some of them to actually stop working so I can upgrade them with some of the updated & newer cameras. I also own a few other Wyze products that I also am satisfied and happy with. Including to Wyze headphones and many Wyze color lightbulbs and smart plugs. 5 stars because they are constantly updating and improving and that is a 5 star attitude!

Wut Happened?. A few years ago, when we first purchased and put into operation our WYZE cameras…cameras with an “s”… we were happy. I think we started out with four or five. They all operated as expected; the app worked well; recordings were of good quality and accurate; we could switch from camera to camera quickly and without any issues; and the time it took the cameras to come online was fast. Now, some 20 cameras later, covering two properties in two different states, we question the reliability and accuracy of these cameras. My wife was home alone one evening and heard an unusual noise at our back door. Nothing happened, thank goodness, but when she was telling me about the incident she laughed saying, that in the amount of time it took the cameras to come online and a begin displaying video, if there was someone wanting to break in, they would have gained entry before the cameras started working. We have family that will stop by our other property to check on things. When they do, they usually send my wife a text or give her a call letting is know everything is looking good. When we check our cameras, on the date and time that they checked the property, there are no recordings, on any of the cameras, that have been set up for recording. Oh! Set up…and paid for…but not recorded. We keep them because we have them. We have only noticed these shortcomings in the past six months or so. Hopefully WYZE is aware of their issues and will correct them soon.

Fancy update? It’s crap!. I mean seriously. How do release an update without making sure it actually works? All cameras fail to load when you first open the app so you have to close it out then reopen to get them to load. Then when you are finally able to access them it opens them in landscape mode (finally) but of course only temporarily. I mean how hard is it in 2023 to make the app stay in landscape mode. As soon as you hit the back button out of the camera you were finally able to view in landscape mode, it goes back to just that camera page in portrait mode and not back to the camera group. Isn’t that what the little funky square in the upper right corner is for? When you hit the back button, shouldn’t it bring you back to the previous screen you were on being the multi camera view? Then when you hit the back button on the portrait view of the individual camera that you shouldn’t have even been on in the first place, it brings you back to the multi camera view, in you guessed it, portrait mode. Then to add insult to injury, you have to physically rotate the device to go back to landscape view. Then of course every time you view a camera you have to go through the same painful process. Might be time to hire some new coders folks or more likely, it might be time to choose another camera brand.

Smart scale rocks! Suggestion for app.. Got a fantastic deal on the affordable home smart scale from Wyze a couple years ago. It’s my third smart scale in the past decade, but the Wyze has, by far, the most stable and functional app of them all, even for scales purchased at three times the price. On command and without hiccup, it loads to other apps on demand, exports data easily and is a dieter’s dream. If I could make a request, the only one I’d have is that the fonts and colors on the lovely charts be of a font and color that’s easy for my ages eyes to read. I have an iPhone with a giant screen, wear glasses and I struggle to see the aqua colored text in the “trends” section where the data categories are laid out in the various charts. That’s but a tiny issue with an outstanding scale and an exceedingly stable and thoughtfully designed app. Thank you, developers! I wanted to address you all personally. You’re obviously talented and your work has helped me not only to change my life, but enjoy doing it. Hoping they feed you well and praise you for keeping it simple, but robust. Linus would be proud. (For Xmas, I’m asking Santa for some groovy light bulbs. )

Updates kills the camera every time. Since the update with Camera system and app, my camera no longer works. Been over 15 minutes (over 60 minutes before they picked up) waiting for someone to answer the phone in customer service/tech support. Now it shows my camera is set up with another account. Need someone to help. No web site has helped me resolve this issue. I keep losing the Chat connection when trouble shooting with the agent. Had to restart the chat mayb time before it finally stayed connected. The send button in chat is outta view to right of the chat. Have to move screen to see. Difficult on the phone. Update. They finally answered the phone after an hour. After 10 +/- minutes, we get disconnected. They don’t call back. They have the best cameras WiFi systems when it works. However, My WiFi outdoor camera shuts down every time after their updates. They use up the battery trying to update and the. reconnect. Typically updates when away from house for extended periods of time. Makes this outdoor v2 WiFi camera useless after system updates. Useless until I return to town or in town and realize it’s shut down again. Kept eye out this time after updated. Tried to stay on top of it. Still went down and been down.

These cameras and app USED TO be great….. I purchased these security cameras around the summer of 2020 and they were phenomenal until just a couple of months ago they only started to record 12-second videos or pay the subscription which isn't the most expensive for one camera but adding up all of the several cameras that I own it adds up to a good amount of cash annually. That’s not my biggest issue tho, The problems begin when I started the free trial for the more “PREMIUM” subscription to see if it was worth it and start paying for all of my cameras, but turns out that I can't even see the recordings from all of my cameras that have free trial added to them… on top of everything the notifications have a big delay and by the time it lets me know someone entered my driveway they’re already knocking on my door. So it kind of takes away the SECURITY part of it because by the time the app lets me know, someone more than likely already entered my house…. Also when viewing the cameras live there is a delay. We even checked with our wifi provider to make sure that all of these delays and issues didn’t have anything to do with the wifi. Our wifi provider replied and said that our wifi is running smoothly with no problems at all. All these things and several other issues are taken into consideration it makes me want to switch to another security camera company. One major thing that I will mention is the affordability of the cameras which is definitely a pro.

Guess I’m buying a Ring system. Every time there’s motion the camera freezes? What’s the point of a camera if it’s always frozen? UPDATE: Tried using an SD card so that I don’t have to sign up for a subscription that wasn’t previously required. The SD card can record continuously or just events. But even with the settings set to record to SD card and capture type set to Events the Events page still has still images instead of any kind of video. Trying to view the video from the Events makes you have to sign up for their subscription. And trying to go into settings to change the Event type recording from image to video brings up the subscription page. How can you force people to subscribe just so they can view videos that are supposed to be stored on the local device? What are my SD cards good for? My friend has Arlo, I think I’ll switch to that. Bought a camera years ago and loved that there was a free 12 second clip. That’s the reason I bought Wyze over other brands. No subscription necessary. Loved it so much I bought a second camera months ago. Now they are forcing you to update to a subscription in order to view even the short 12 second clips. Violation of consumer agreements in my opinion. If I have to buy a subscription I’d rather go with a bigger more well known brand that tells you up front that you’ll need a subscription.

Doesn’t record events very well. Most of the time events are not recorded in a way you can tell who anyone is. The camera I have the subscription on records once someone is to the side of the camera and you never see their face. It is set with a full view of a sidewalk that is 18ft long and doesn’t start recording until someone is about 16 Ft down the sidewalk. Then doesn’t record at all when they walk back. We also have a Wyze doorbell that doesn’t catch any coming up the same sidewalk. It only records after they have turned around to leave. Our driveway camera doesn’t start recording until a car is passing under the camera, so we only see the back of the car pulling into the garage. These camera are set for maximum distance and sensitivity. We have a total of 6 cameras and they all do not start recording until about 6 to 12 seconds after motion is seen within the detection grid. The SD cards installed in the cameras and base suit also do not record anything. After last update the app and camera are even slower. Delivery person came and dropped off a box. Walked in front of 2 cameras and rang doorbell, one camera didn’t detect or record anything and the doorbell camera didn’t notify that someone rang the doorbell and the only recording is a package sitting on the doorstep. This person had to walk up to the door and walk back to their vehicle and neither camera recorded who it was

Owner of Multiple Wyze items.. So, I never write reviews. But I am extremely happy with my products and the customer service so I figured I had to!! I own 4 different Wyze cameras, The Door Lock, Thermostat, Light Bulbs and the Wyze Vacuum!! I’ll just say I’m VERY happy with all of them. I have not had a single issue with anything other than the Vacuum. After about a years worth of daily use, the battery in the vacuum stopped working. Now mind you we would and still do use the Vacuum multiple times a day. It is extremely easy to use and works great!! We emailed their customer support and within a week or so we had a brand new vacuum at our front door! They replaced our old one with no questions asked because it was still covered under their warranty. They are constantly sending out updates for their products it’s amazing! I will continue to purchase Wyze products for as long as they keep making them. Very happy customer here. And a SOLID 5 Stars. If you’re on the fence, just make the purchase. You will not regret it, and will end up buying more if their stuff lol.

Agree that wyze is going downhill fast. Like so many other reviews I am reading here today, I have to agree that the past couple of updates seem to have broken features that I had set up without issue last summer and enjoyed for months without an issue. Now, there is always at least one out the three cameras that I own that cannot connect to the network. There is a terrible lag when trying to watch any event notification anymore and I routinely just stop bothering to watch it. I am not all that tech savvy to guess what the issues are, but I can say that it used to work and now it doesn’t. I frankly do not have the time to research all the issues I have to try to fix them or to contact the help desk and all that. I expect I’m like a lot of busy Middle Aged customers who just want something they can plug in and will work, and I’m not sure wyze is the answer for that need anymore. I was looking into Expanding my wyze product usage and, in particular, I wanted some of the smart bulbs for my house. But I think I better wait on them and see if the service improves. Also I have hated the inability to fast forward or rewind from day one. What kind of service is that? I mean imagine having to watch 8 or more hours if video to find out when your teenaged daughter snuck out the prior night. No one has that kind of time

Landscape view for iPad??. This app is working ok, though I dont find it a super intuitive user interface which makes adjusting the settings a bit of a guessing game of trial and error…like, lets see if this does what it seems like maybe they are intending it to do… The quality of the picture seems good…. My number one frustration is that it doesnt switch to landscape mode on my iPad. I exclusively use my iPad like a laptop and never hold it vertically like a phone but I’m forced to tip it and its keyboard sideways to read settings and make adjustments. If I want to look at my cameras, those are in landscape mode but nothing else. It even switches my whole home screen to a side ways mode after I’ve closed out of the app itself. This is so silly and annoying. Please change this, Wyze. I also would like to be able to have different zones for notification. Like if something happens in the zone around my front door, I want notification and recording but if something happens in the drive way zone, like a car drives by I just want it to record but not notify me. Cars drive by or park near by probably 20 times a day and I dont want to hear about it ever time. But if one of those times its someone robbing my neighbor across the street I would like to have motion in that zone recording and available for review later. I’m not sure I explained that well but hopefully it makes sense.

Updates ruined a great system. This was a fantastic app that went with great hardware (camera, earbuds, router) ect that I owned for several years but since your company began updating (obviously without testing) has the application completely deteriorated in quality. The cameras now trigger but many times do not notify the app, the app when opened used to show the 5 cameras that are live and you then can choose if you want to watch a recorded video. Now the app opens on a long ago recorded video then must be deleted (when posssble) to view the live camera and that’s only if you are able to get the advertisement banner out of the way so you can access the buttons to view what you need to view. The “team” at Wyze certainly made the banner so sensitive that no matter how lightly you touch it to get it out of the way it begins its advertisement only to have to be knocked out to view the live system. Anybody reading this should be aware of what degradation has occurred to this once fine system. I truely am a coustmer for several years and have 5 cans , router and earbuds so you know I was a huge fan and made many recommendations for this product but as a paying customer I am not happy with the advertisement banners and the terrible tech “upgrades” that obviously have not been fully tested before being offered.

Useless. *edit* In response to the developer, I decided to go back to Home Depot and purchase another outdoor camera (after I took the original back) to see if it just happened to be an issue from that day. Get home and go to set it up - same exact issue. I connect to the Wyze network and get back into the app and it gets stuck on “please wait” for an indefinite amount of time. Just an absolute junk combination of software and hardware. Very disappointed. I guess that’s why these cameras are so much less expensive than the competitors. You get what you pay for. I’m not going to spend hours troubleshooting this when it literally should be plug and play. Uninstalling and returning again tomorrow. I gave this newer company a chance and will never try another one of their products again. Have read pretty decent things regarding the Wyze cameras. Purchased one and was excited to try it out. I’m a tech savvy person. This app is hot garbage. I could not get the base station to setup. Tried quite a few troubleshooting steps - which btw are very limited through Wyze. No fix. Reset everything and tried again. No fix. Deleted app and tried again. No fix. Tried setting up from a different device. No fix. Pretty obvious why this app is related terribly. Will be returning the outdoor cam and base station tomorrow and will just spend the extra money on a Eufy camera.

Devices Good. App Not So Good (I.e., BAD). The app is the most frustrating, buggy, convoluted software in how it interfaces with cameras (have not gotten any thing else from Wyze as of this review), how detection areas are defined ("masked" versus what the camera actually "sees") and "advanced PIR detection" to define areas is useless in detecting motion. I have no connectivity issues throughout my house (cameras always show excellent signal) but cameras often go offline and need to be reset, which isn't all that convenient or doable if I'm not home. Yes, firmware is always kept up to date. And again, I have excellent signal strength at the cameras and and base station. Lastly, the delays in capturing motion is so bad. A couple examples: when I drive up in my "driveway zone", that camera only detects my car when I park under where the camera is mounted. I've tried MANY angles and advanced PIR detection to no avail. Same goes for the front door camera. Deliveries aren't captured until the item is literally dropped in front of the door. It does NOT capture the person walking up to the front door, even though the front door walkway is clearly in the "detection" zone. The less than stellar app and spotty camera performance has forced me to buy the pricier but more reliable Nest camera to ensure I have the reliable security coverage my family wants.

Problems With Recording People Through The Cameras. Hello, good afternoon. We just wanted to report the following: This problem has been going on for quite some time, at least over a month. Whenever we go out, the cameras record us, but the moment we make it back inside home, the cameras don’t record us the same anymore. We do not show up, as if the cameras itself were to be malfunctioning, or maybe it’s the app. The day of yesterday, we went out twice, but when we came back, the cameras didn’t record us anymore. The cameras don’t sense our presence and it’s beginning to become a problem. They sometimes only record the light movement of leaves or the sound of a car passing by. Something that urges us are the recordings of people, but the cameras don’t do that. We apologize for rating this app 3 out of 5 stars. With all honesty, this is surely a 5/5 stars, but with this problem approaching us, we would give it 3 stars. This is honestly one of the best apps we have come across though! For your attention, thank you very much and we hope you guys can help us very soon. Within all the time we’ve had this app with its cameras, this feature of recording people has stopped from a month prior. Please help us reconnect these cameras or figure out what to do.

Reliable but you have to wade through offers. I am enjoying the app. I think it is reliable and mostly intuitive. You cannot change WiFi network on the fly but there is a work-around for that. I don’t like seeing all of the flash deals and sale offers that pop up sometimes. It had been fairly infrequent - I only recall one here or there - but over the past month I have had to click through five ads or offers. Doesn’t seem like a lot but I use my app from a security point-of-view which means I need to see what is happening _now_, not after I click through more offers. I also get bombarded with ads via email. Please reduce to 1 per month and go easy on your users. We can only consume so much stuff. I have doubled my ownership over the past month as well. It is merely a coincidence. I began shopping for more things because we had an incident. Personally, I think I am buying because of my need and not because I’m blasted with ads. Some may argue differently. Who really knows? I think this company might end up nickel-and-diming me to death because I just keep adding things to my service. They need to offer a retirement planner for us to use to see how much longer until we retire based on how much money I am spending with the company. If they could package it up somehow and slap a camera on it I’d buy it.

Good for still images and not much else. There’s no point to having a camera that pans if it doesn’t follow the object it’s detecting. You get an “event” notice that something or someone is moving around a room and it’ll show you that person or animal briefly, but then the camera starts jerking spastically left or right like it’s blindly seeking the subject. I get video after video where the camera just goes the other way and stops following the subject completely while they (or it) wanders off. Even when the camera does stay on the subject it whips left and right so many times that the video’s unwatchable. One of my cameras, which are identical, does well in low light and the other doesn’t seem to have any IR function at all. I usually don’t have trouble connecting to each camera when I try to watch its images, but it’s not a very fast response time, either, before you can watch live video. About 5 seconds. You can remotely aim the cameras, kind of, but they’re susceptible to the same off-center jerking around when you do. Overall these are good for still images but essentially worthless for getting video clips because they don’t stay on subject and won’t stop “seeking” when they detect something. And by the way, there are not multiple people or animals in the room to confuse it. It’s got one subject to follow indoors, and it can’t even do that.

The Best Products In My Opinion. I can’t say enough good about Wyze, I simply can’t wait until a new product comes out to try it out and I always hope that the product is a product it will be something that I am going to be buying! And most of the time it is, I have their cameras, headphones, the watch, their scale, the new lightbulbs, light strips, just to name a few. Their products never disappoint! I would give a five star rating on every product I’ve tried and the price point is never disappointing. I also have there cordless vacuum and handheld vacuum and I love them both. Like I said I have other products as well but all of these are outstanding in my opinion and this review probably doesn’t do them justice but I think they were just a Great Brand all the way around through and through. That’s my recommendation, and I would give it as many stars is possible for the rating!!!! Thank you Wyze!! If this company ever goes public, I believe in them so much I would be anxious and proud investor because I believe they have so much potential and will look forward to being somebody that would back them financially and look forward to hopefully sharing some profits with them in the future.

Disaapointed in support. I loved these cameras a lot in the beginning i got the v2 then v3 then i got the outdoor wireless with the base i got cam plus for all my cameras as with all vendors as they start adding more product they messup whats good the outdoor camera never gives me event videos i keep connecting it to base and it works for an hour next time i look its stopped then i hit record it ask for a sd memory card and i send and send support request no response they even got a you tube channel & i asked them to do an outdoir pan camera video. Nothing Next the cameras periodically dont update right. Now they got cam-plus lite and my subscription now doesnt record the amt of time its suppose to i wrote support no response when my four cam plus subscriptions renewed this month there was no problem debting my acct but can get any answers from support If i cant get my camplus and can camera to work right i am gonna dispute charges with my bank then they will either respond or lose money Customers are whats earning them a living but if they cant keep up with proper operation they dont need us and i can go else where People have no morals or integrity anymore & we wont keep putting up with bad service

Needs work to scale. I purchased Wyze cams when the company began. The first 6-12 months was a really great experience. Latency was pretty decent and the technology was expensive for what your getting. When the platform gained traction and became somewhat popular the latency got bad and the confidence I had in the backend infrastructure really wavered. I would get delayed notifications an hour later after an event took place. Since then I have had outages while I have been on vacation where the cams would stop working and there was no recovery until I got home and climbed to the roof where I could manually power cycle them(internet was not down). Local SD cards work about 60 percent of the time. Sometimes you have to take the cards out and re-seat them so the cam registers them again. Where Wyze gets points is there security monitoring. I have had a good experience with quick response time when alarms are tripped and the service is pretty stable. They have also made strides in video camera quality in low light situations. The iOS app could use some fine tuning in terms of supporting new sdk features available like swipe back to dismiss a view. I always have to tap the back button and personally that’s dated UX as well as frustrating for me. Overall the exercise has been ok… I’m very close to moving to something else but I’ve got a lot of your products and integrations setup. I’m hoping for improvements.

Tried to Email My Question/Issue. hey there I do have a question. you guys sent me an introductory email asking if I have any questions or any feedback, so I sent this email to you and I got an auto reply saying that I cannot reply to this email. What’s the deal with that? ?? I have the cam indoor outdoor V.3 … I love it the quality, and great video i- sublime; everything‘s great except there’s a weird sound when I turn on the “sound” - it’s like a grinding, repetitive thumping sound - there’s absolutely nothing in any of the rooms in my house, no fan, no air conditioner know anything. I have moved it around and still is the same sound. It’s just continuous to the point where I cannot leave it open listening all night because of the sound it makes. thinking that maybe the gears on the camera itself are grinding inside? I have tested it via night vision and not on. nice vision and I still hear the same sound. I tried attaching a video to this to see if you can hear it and tell me what is happening (I see no way to add an attachment ) do I need to return this? I really want to be able to use this when my grandchildren are staying over to keep an eye on them but that sounds obnoxious. Please Help!

Horrible App Issues!!. UPDATE: I unplugged my cameras and uninstalled the app from my phone and had no ‘crashing’ issues on my phone at all. After a few months, I was hoping that there was some kind of an update that had eliminated this terrible situation. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I set everything up and it works/looks perfectly, but with each notification it reboots my phone! HORRIBLE! I gave 3 stars overall (rather than 1), because I think that, that this is a truly excellent product for the cost. I currently have 2 cameras that work great. I read reviews prior to buying and decided to invest in SD cards, which was a great bit of advise. The problem that I have is the APP. Previously it was completely shutting off the WiFi on my phone every time I received a notification. I would literally be in the middle of a phone call - receive a notification - and it drops my call! Repeatedly over and over and over for months. Now, with this newest update, almost every notification reboots my phone - basically like my phone is just crashing. Some times it will just completely shut it down and not reboot. I will not complain about personal preferences and things that I think that this product should/shouldn’t have - for the money, I think it’s great. BUT these app glitches are completely unacceptable!! I am missing phone calls because it has shut my phone off!!

Wyze Cameras. Awesome cameras very versatile and great for any location.

Super cheap camera. But good value

Time lapse. Time lapse downloads from the app have stopped working. They used to work. I spoke to Wyze support, who told me to just download it from the SD card. Why have an app then if it's not going to work?

Moving on. Not a good system anymore. Now they are just garbage. Constant issues, constant upsells that block the interface. It certainly feels like a cheap product. Moving on.

Last update messed it up!. Oh I luv Wize and been supporting them since the inception. But unfortunately, things are bit stirred lately. First the Wyze cam recordings play back got messed up. No fix to-date. And now the last app update doesn’t even let you the cams at one go. You got to open and close couple of times to get it running. Time to up your game guys. Don’t loose your loyal customer base.

misses real events but you'll know all about your tree movements, birds and lights. update: "Cannot find a specific network name" is what you hear majority of times trying to add v3 pro. every time after power outage can spend half an hour trying to connect. many times unsuccessfully. not a device you can count on. and everything else said below is still at same state. Own v3 PRO cam for 2 months now. Cam Plus subscription. 1. There is no true built-in AI, nor in the cloud! Constant false triggers by birds and bush waving, in the evening – by the lights from passing by cars. Eventually you just turn off notifications, cause it's impossible and endless false triggers. 2. Setting detection zone does absolutely nothing! You still get alerts from bush waving far outside the detection zone. 3. Add to that multiple occasions when camera misses people which occupy 60-90% of the vertical space – coming up to the entrance! I wouldn't believe it if I didn't observe it myself. When my wife with 2 hand luggage and myself with two duffel bags slowly moved to the entrance (because we were chatting with a neighbour) from the very left to the very right end of the camera view (occupying up to 90% of the vertical space), taking the keys out, opening a door. No trigger!!! How on Earth could this be possible for a security camera? 4. I submitted around a hundred reports, 'sharing' video and marking what is actually in a shot – did NOT help at all. So-called AI does NOT learn anything. 5. My front yard is probably around 20-30 meters long. Their 2K camera couldn't even record a licence plate of a vehicle parked 6-7 meters away (at an angle), you just see that there are some symbols there. A camera – you can't rely on anyhow! 6. And they refuse to refund that piece of garbage, offering a gift certificate to get another one, so that they can charge 4 times more for having both cameras connected to a cloud… 7. Support is awful and it can only send useless templated responses and they don't care about the quality of the product. Only how they can profit. CONCLUSION. If you want a toy, then Wyze is quite a decent option: its picture quality is good (although practically useless – see #5). Colourful night vision works pretty well even without ultraviolet LED (cause you can't use them through a window, like I have to). And that's it. If you want a security camera, then definitely go with another brand. FYI. Subscription packages (except for Cam Plus) works only in US and Canada! They're verifying the address and your cell number (you can't use an international format, only US & Canada cells). So, no way to trick this. But those scammers happily charge your card anyway, even knowing where you are located and which AppStore covers you! Even though they promise 2-week trial and say there won't be any charge until 24 hours before the end of the period. Wyze applies unfair business practices and lies and misleads consumers. Everything they do is aimed not at delivering a high quality product but at squeezing money out of you.

Great app and awesome products. We love love love our little Wyze, companions in our home :) very easy technology’s

App Crashes when download for timelapse is finished. The app crashes when the timelapse download has finished and causes the video file for the timelapse to be corrupted. I do multiple day timelapses with an interval of 5 minutes for plant movement.

One bug to the next. This really is an awful camera ecosystem, have had them running for a couple of years and they really do just move from one bug to the next. You never know what won’t work when you need the cameras but you can be assured SOMETHING won’t work. Current issue, can’t replay events if the cameras have detected a person. Super helpful….

Blinded. How can the app for a camera with night vision possibly have an entirely white UI, and no dark mode option? Thanks for the dev response, but this has been on the Wishlist for over three years with no action. Just makes you look a bit silly.

Stop advertising in push notifications. I have turned off all notifications and still get spammed every day or two with promotions. I’ve had enough and I’m looking to change to a different company.

Useless. Used to be good. Useless now unless you pay

Terrific Cameras. The cameras and associated app and online service have been terrific from the beginning and keep getting better.

Unreliable and buggy. I’m a long time user of Wyze. I own 7 Wyze Cams and have a Cam Plus subscription. Wyze has headed in a direction I’m just not a fan of. Constant nagging and upselling of paid features, introducing bugs constantly, it’s tiring. All I want is a simple, reliable set of cameras that can detect motion and people without all of the extra rubbish that comes along with it. Because they are constantly trying to “improve” and sell more, they regress by breaking things. For years I’ve been dealing with this now and I’m just done. They’re out of touch with consumers it seems. Sometimes less is more…..

Cannot stream remotely. I've tried everything and I cannot stream the camera from a remote location on my iPhone. I see many others having the same problem.

Great company. I don’t have many protects just cameras but v2 and v3 are great and work without issue - wish they had all the products on the Aus Global store but oh well

They killed it. Used to be great. Each update has made it worse and worse to the point where it’s no longer usable. I’ll have to upgrade my cameras and I do pay for subscription.

Difficult to get help. Like many tech companies, Wyze makes it difficult to raise a support ticket and provides no direct means of doing so. UN-like those tech companies, Wyze asks us to pay money, so don’t get surprised about your high return rate.

Okay. It’s mostly okay. But for the past month or so, the live steam takes forever to load. I have the latest firmware, but wish I didn’t. It worked much better before. They really need to look at their quality control and UX.

Good camera. Nice and good camera but it notify/alert slow if it compared to eufy or tp link camera

Constantly trying to upsell. It’s ok, but the interface is focused on upselling not on your cameras or video

Wyze playback keeps going to different spots. Hi could you guys please fix the camera playback it keeps going to different spot since the latest update it is like I want to look at the camera and I choose to go to 1 and it goes back to like 2 or 3 could you please fix it or I am keeping it at one star

Wyze v3 disappoints. The v3 app is a step backwards in terms of useability. The new home page is poorly designed, with only two cam live feeds visibility. Those live feeds are always ‘connecting’ and never load.

Time Zone Wrong. A timezone incorrect bug has been there for more than a year which is still to be fixed.

Wyze Watch app not real great. Its missing metric measurements, Does not sync all data to the HealthApp. Have to do manual heart rate and Oxygen saturation tests as it does not do regular auto tests. Lots of things to fix before its a great app.

Awesome camera’s. Wyze is by far the best and cheapest solution for home security…

Best camera sans HomeKit support. I’d say for the price this is the very best camera out there. If only they have HomeKit support I’d be able to widely refer this to all family and friends. That is one great limiting factor. Coz despite the app being great it’s not an idea situation. We would love to see all cameras simultaneously. I have 5 cameras and they work brilliantly though. But I’d have to toggle between each camera making it cumbersome. Come one guys u have a brilliant team. Get the HomeKit out of the way !!!!

Easy and Effective. Wyze cameras are easy to set up, way to use and do good motion-triggered recordings. I’ve been using these cameras for a while and very happy with them. The subscription provides longer motion-triggered recordings and well worth it.

Issue with event recording settings. Event recording time keep resetting everytime I go into the settings

Worst stream app ever. Perhaps the worst streaming app on the planet where there are great examples of how streaming apps should perform

Wyze actively removes support for older products. I was an early supporter of Wyze and thought Wyze and everything they stood for was great. Unfortunately, Wyze have decided to remove support for older products such as Wyze bulbs such that schedules (turning lights on/off at specific times) no longer works. This has established an unfortunate precedent where Wyze remove support for older products to try and force customers to upgrade. Wyze have lost me as a customer and I would encourage all potential Wyze customers to heed this warning. Update: after I posted my review on the App Store, Wyze replied with a recommendation to contact Wyze support, which I have done previously on multiple occasions. No remedy was offered by Wyze, so I stand by my comments that Wyze have knowingly removed timer control from Wyze original bulbs with software updates. Buy from a more reputable and reliable provider.

Live stream is glitchy. Since the most recent update (with the new app logo/ skin) the streaming has been really glitchy. The stream takes multiple attempts to load and is constantly buffering. This was not an issue prior to the update.

Disappointing. I was a user from the original free set up, nominated to continue for a small monthly fee for about two years and recently upgraded to Wyze cam with a charge per camera. I have four cameras, I’ve now had the upgrade for three months and the number of times it misses picking up people on my property is disappointingly high.

Best in class. I’ve used Xiaomi, eufy, ring etc and Wyze is simply the best in terms of ease of use, customer-focused features and quality. All that at a really attractive price compared to its competitors. I just wish they had an Aussie branch so that we can get full security suite as well!

Needs a dark mode. It's blinding at night to have this app all white while I'm using it as a baby monitor

Wyze comments from downunder!. Great product though the cost to us poor Aussie’s is bewildering. Someone is making a lot of profit as unfortunately Wyze won’t ship overseas. Find the prices great. I have six cameras hooked up through Alexa. Disappointing that all new features now come at a price though. Would have loved to be able to monitor all cameras at once. Though this comes at a price too. Tony

Only good if you pay subscription. Subscriptions don’t work in Australia, yet they’ll try charge you, so it’s now purely a paperweight

Replays have an issue since the latest update?. Ever since the last update the playback timestamps seem to be screwed up. When you skip back and forth in time it seems like the replay is not in proper chronological order, skipping back and forth, typically at the exact point you need to see an event. I have only noticed this since the latest update. Also I am using a brand new iPhone 15 and the computational load of the app makes it very slow. Older devices this is more evident. Otherwise it’s been really great, it’s just this last update.

Lost data. I just updated and lost over a year of data. Beware. Correction. The data was only lost for a few hours and has come back now. App is working fine.

Disappointed. I was raving to everyone how great these devices are working till about 3 weeks ago. Now having difficulty connecting to cameras. Trouble shooting and it’s not a wifi issue. Have to keep turning them off then on again to get connection, which only works from time to time.

Horrible-do not support this sham company. When I first bought these cameras, they were touted as a low cost alternative with free app support. Well over the years they’ve whittled it down to nothing, and with the last update, I can see absolutely nothing without paying. What a bunch of dishonest liars. When I call support, I just get the message saying no one is available to take your call, try again later. I will never, ever buy another product from this company and I hope no one else does either.

Terrible downgrade. Another instance of software upgrade being a complete failure and downgrade. Old version was ok, needed tweaks but survivable. New version has enormous panels of each camera and is perpetually trying to show them all, live. So it’s perpetually “polling” to try and pull down live stream. We have 10 cameras. Even at three cameras it doesn’t work. If you tap one of the cams to solely see that cam, guess what, it still tries to refresh all the cams. So it’s now perpetually losing connection, fails to show any single live stream without interruption, then crashes. Don’t buy Wyze cams because the software is truly useless. We now have ten plastic paperweights. Any buyers? Thought not.

Wyze Is Cancelling My Access. On July 16 Wyze will require any Apple device to be using an iOS of 14.00 or above. You are SOL if your device doesn’t meet their NEW requirement. The told me to go out and buy a new iPad if I wanted to continue using my 8 Wyze cameras. They told me that my security was their highest priority. I replied to them that my account would be one of the most secure they have because as of July 16 I will no longer be able to access it.

Not so good. Would not buy again. Almost useless. Wish I could get my money back. All most all functions are extra cost. Basically an over priced doorbell.

Not connecting. Basic Camera won’t connect to Wifi even after I followed multiple instructions and trouble shooting.

Poor customer consideration. Bought this camera back when the recording captured 12 secs for free with no subscription — that was the selling point for us. Wyze recently changed that and forced customers to buy a subscription in order to get video recordings. They should have grandfathered existing customers instead of cutting off the functionally for which those customers initially bought this product. If you have to buy a subscription go with another company that produces a better camera; wyze camera is “meh” at best

Camera can’t be seen when not at home. Cameras can’t be accessed when not at home on going issue

Paid features do not work. I upgraded to Cam Plus and the app does not recognize that it’s been paid for. I am not able to record video or use any plus features even though I’ve been paying for it. I’ve been talking with support and they don’t know how to resolve this issue.

Live video not working. Why is live video not working , I have to keep power cycling the camera to get it to work

BAD, don’t waste your time or money. Support non existent and is only there to close tickets behind your back and gaslight you by saying they solved your problem or can’t find your ticket. Cam plus subscription is pointless, app and products barely work when you need them to. Every month something is broken for multiple months. Security incidents are constant and Wyze only alerts users when news papers call them out.

Horrible. It never connects when I’m away. Only when I’m on the same wifi

Horrible Connectivity. Can almost never watch the live streams of my cameras - even with my paid subscription. Constantly fails to load livestream. Waste of money.

Playback not good. Although the picture quality is very clear when you playback video it shows in 15 seconds intervals instead of real time video. Not worth it.

Never loads properly. Sure, I get notifications as soon as someone comes up to my driveway or front door, but I can’t watch a live stream, can’t talk to the person at the door, and my driveway doesn’t keep a log. So many basic functions that could need better. I’ve tried resetting, reinstalling, contacting support…. Nothing helps

Total trash. Do NOT buy these products. The only people still using this broken joke of an app, from a truly disgusting, duplicitous, and greed driven enterprise are the ones unfortunate enough to have been duped into making the financial investment into the substandard and wholly useless hardware. This whole system, company, hardware, software is absolute trash., a hole in the internet they expect you to throw money into. Don't!

Worst system cam ever. Do not but this product it’s a ripe off! The cost is super expensive! It work for free and after they want you to charge you extra money it’s ridiculed! Product and seller never advise you about this extras stuff

Horrible. Keeps losing connection.

Used to work well, now unusable. This app used to be pretty good. Now, it just stays idle on the green Wyze screen. Big waste of money, and their support is completely useless.

V3 is absolute garbage!. This latest version is unfinished, buggy, slow, consumes bandwidth like it doesn’t matter and has a horrible user interface. Wyze have managed to combine the worst aspects of V2 with a whole new layer of ugly and useless. They didn’t fix issues that have been around for years but have managed to remove features and functionality while adding nothing new of any value. What they did manage to add, (I.e, dark mode) isn’t finished and only works on some screens. EPIC FAIL!

Useless. Hundreds of people on the forums are not getting recording to SD card but nothing is done. The camera is now forgotten for other more expensive items. I have cam plus and do not get notification anymore. It’s no good asking for support as dozens have done this but there is no help. READ THE CUSTOMERS ON THE WEB. DO NOY BUY this is now full of adds trying to make you make extra purchases they put adds over the controls forcing you to click

Constant connectivity problems. My wyze Cam Pan V2 forever has a connectivity issue. I have to reset it at least once a week. It’s very frustrating. I’m ready to get rid of it all together. Very disappointed

Terrible Support. Have not been able to view live feeds for the camera when not connected to the same wifi network that the cameras are on. Issue has been this way for many users for over a month and they can't seem to get it fixed. Best to look at other alternatives if good support is important to you. This lack of support is likely due to Wyze diversifying faster than they should have. It's too bad. This was a much better company for consumers when they just did cameras.

Version 3.0 is terrible. This version is very slow to connect to my devices and I can’t display four cameras anymore on the home page. How do I go back one version as it was fast and reliable…

No recordings after latest update. Have the premium subscription, latest app and firmware update messed something up. No recordings for any type of the events. Please fix.

Wyze Cams. If your wanting a toy or something for amusement then there ok. These are NOT security cameras as they only work properly about 15% of the time. I have 8 of them and it is rare that they all work.

Unreliable at best. When the cameras work, it’s fine.. but all four cameras go ‘off-line’ at least monthly (usually coordinates with a random update) and then takes several attempts to reset with fully powering down the modem And the router. Very frustrating.

So hard to connect.. I used Wyze before and it was great. Now connection problems and no free storage. They want you to upgrade always. I will use different system.

Bruh. Been tryna log on to my account for while and it says device not supported on a new phone like tf u support iPhone 30?

Ridiculously bad, Do Not Buy.. I have owned the Wyze V3 for over 2 years now, always using the latest firmware, After two major incidents 1. package was stolen but cannot find the footage on my Wyze cam even with detection turned on, 2. My car got rear ended in my own driveway while I was out and this camera failed to capture any evidence of the incident, The most frustrating part is that just simple things like recording a video footage you have to subscribe to a monthly subscription or else your Wyze camera will only take pictures which are useless. DO Not Buy

Terrible. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Wyze Cameras. I've had these camera for 2 years and they all stopped working properly. First the SD cards stoped recording and now they go offline for now reason and I have to constantly restart them for them to work for a few minutes.

Do not buy. I have 5 of these cameras and for the past 6 Months they will not show when you are at home using wifi. They will not work when you are out of your house on cell phone data defeating the purpose of having cameras. I now have 5 junk cameras

App is glitchy and rarely works properly.. Well after months of having this camera it does work. It does connect to the app (when it wants to) BUT if you go ahead and pay for the “plus” add on which offers person detection and motion detection and will send a notification when detected, it does not EVER WORK. It will work for one day and than I have to play around with the app and camera to attempt to get it working. Than I usually have to get tech support involved. If you are looking for an app/camera system that will actually notify you when someone or something is their, do not purchase this product.

All cameras are not stable. All Cameras from two different house holds are not stable, keep saying switch to 360P. Sometimes, they need to be turn on and restart for few times. Or they totally stop working for switching to 360p

Has been. I bought 4 WYZE cameras a couple years ago. They were a good investment at the time. Then they started to compete with other companies. Now I find with all the updates and fees it’s become a bit of a joke. Cameras never stay where you want them to, sometimes video is saved to the SD card, they think my dog is a human, detects my car ever 15min +/-… The old school CCTV cameras that recorded to tape were, by far, better. Oh! They don’t sell to Canadians. I got mine off of eBay (new). Get yourself a Chinese WiFi camera that records to an SD card and doesn’t come with extra charges.

Was great. I love my wyze cam, but recently I can’t watch any playbacks from the cloud (Error 06) and it’s really taking away from my experience. If this issue isn’t resolved soon I’ll have to switch to another camera.

Good til the last update. Now terrible. I’ve had excellent experiences with my all my cameras until after the last software update. Now all my cameras will not remain connected. I still get notifications for movement but I cannot view any live footage or playback.

Wyze cam. Camera always have to be reset all the time to access the vid.

After updated the app. I cannot connect the Cam V3. After 2 years . I cannot connect the camera.

Wyze Sells a product, then disable it. After you sold me a product , you disabled cloud event recording

Watch your cellular data!!. This app uses your cellular data even when all setting for cellular data for the app are turned off and you’re on wifi. You have to completely turn off cellular data for your phone if you don’t want it to use data! Even after talking to their customer support they won’t acknowledge there’s a problem with the coding for their app.

review. Why is Apple telling me it won't open this app when I already have it installed and use it everyday. I have to manually trash it then re-install yet now I have no option to re-install. GET IT TOGETHER!

Update ruined app. The app stopped working after the last update. I can’t even turn my camera on anymore. Please fix this ASAP. The camera is essentially junk now.

Notifications not working. App doesn’t send notifications. Tried troubleshooting with customer support and they said is to factory reset the devices and the app and make sure notifications are turned on in the app and on your phone. Tried everything, no notifications. Any other app on my phone has no problem sending me notifications. This is a software issue with your app that you need to fix. Angry birds can send notifications, why can’t you?

Wyze is far from wise. Cams and app have been on a steady slope from crappy to totally 100% garbage for about a year. Run away as fast as you can and spend your money elsewhere…take note that 99% of reviews are all negative or just plain bad. This company obviously became 2 big/2 stupid/2 fast. Greed screws up all good things. Hopefully my new non-Wyze cameras arrive today.

Wouldn’t buy again. I have the Wyze floodlight and thermostat and would not buy either of them since using. The camera on the flood light is not as good as it should be skipping on the video playbacks and sometimes pixelated. The thermostat has never been able to set schedules Well I set them in the app but the furnace never follows the schedule. Tried repeatedly to chat with support to be disconnected when my phone powered down or when I was asked to get the version - as soon as I opened the Wyze app chat disconnected. So I phoned support - no toll free number for customers to call so ended up paying $12 in long distance to get no answer from support except to reset the thermostat and if that didn’t work (it didn’t ) to get my plumber in to re hook up the thermostat to the furnace! Product isn’t great and support is worse

Deteriorated significantly I have 8 devices. Over time these devices declined and live view is gone! They worked consistently the sudden the app also failed. Nothing changed in home wifi, location, speed etc, other devices and brands of cameras besides the Wyze work perfectly. Regret purchasing low cost Wyze cameras, have to replace with Nest and Ring doorbell much more responsive so far, thank goodness.

Same S**t, different customer. Referred many to this product, even have a spare one in my kitchen cupboard. Today I find myself apologizing to them for such an awful product . Since the last few updates, barely functional. Is this China actually controlling the west? Even the “zen desk” doesn’t work, no valid reply’s from app developer. Boycott WYZE products. See below for generic message.

Notifications broken. Most notifications don’t come. People ring and I don’t get a notification. Most events not in the event log although we go in and out of the house. Tried all the troubleshooting steps and nothing works. Why am I paying monthly for this?

Best Purchase Ever. I am a mom of 3 girls all under 5. I have bought 6 other monitors trying to find something that worked. I got an echo show and decided to try this product because of reviews and price. I couldn’t believe all this product could do and how everything worked with my phone. I can check in on all three, I get alerts for noise and motion and with one touch I can see them it saves recordings of events. I can watch all my kids in one place. It has amazing night vision and you can control everything. It has both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. I don’t think you can buy a carbon monoxide detector this cheap. I can also see them when I am not at home and I can see them on my echo show and any other devices I want. This product does so much but the best part is there are NO OTHER FEES. I tell everyone about this product. Thank you to whoever made this product please don’t change a thing, please don’t add all the extra monthly charges. This is the best product I ever bought for my kids. If I could give 10 stars I would!!!!!

Was great, now really FAILING-Cameras useless now. I love this app and it’s really useful and easy to use. But recently the detection box hasn’t been working properly. Now we get notifications every couple of minutes! So annoying!! You used to be able to drag and change where you wanted the screen to detect. This is a very smart feature, that way you only get notified for stuff you actually need to see. Recently they updated it so it’s no longer just a box you can move and drag around to where you want to be notified. Now the screen is covered with little boxes and you select the boxes of where you want to be notified. Now this is actually even better, if it worked. You can now be more precise and have exactly where you want motion detected. The problem is it doesn’t work. Every time I change the detection zone the squares reset. So I’m getting notified for motion where I unselected it! We have this app on two phones and the detection zone will be different on both and then reset. Please fix this, it basically makes the detection feature and the camera overall USELESS. I don’t want to be notified every second so that means I have to shut it off and now the camera is useful. Fix your app!

Inconsistency in quality, and difficult access to customer service. Even after years of the developed system, AI still can’t tell when it’s a car passing by or a person. The captures have been shared with the team in multiple occasions, but no improvements noticed. Regardless of paying extra for CamPlus, most recordings are interrupted at random lengths, even when there is still active movement happening in area of coverage, so if something were to happen, important to record, it may or may not be missed because the system stopped recording. Other times, the system/cameras don’t get activated at all or there is a delayed start that only allowed for a short fragment of the moment to be recorded… Let’s not even mention customer service. They make sure that you try all different formats of fixing the issue yourself, like we all have the same capacity or technology knowledge before even suggesting the idea of having a one-on-one with a tech, if not by email before that…. Very disappointing but I guess it’s more important to diversify their products than quality in the primary one or equally among all…

Impressive abilities, good night mode, app is a bit cumbersome. There are many good things to choose from. The cameras are super easy to set up and fun to play with and of course they have tons of applications. My only beef so far is the modality of the software, it’s too much back and forth — to my knowledge you can’t even slide between the cams or view two at once (iPad) which seems like an obvious thing to be able to do, regardless of the connect time. I do love the way you can update the firmware all at once and I helped a friend connect all five of hers to Alexa — even that was surprisingly easy. That works pretty well — the only bummer there is that the firmware updates are iterative. It doesn’t recognize multiple updates so we had to click to do each twice to bring them up to date. I’m sure there will be improvements. The clarity is good and the night mode is really nice. You really have to tweak the sensitivity if you live in the city or get ready for a hundred notifications a day, but it’s pretty good so far. Thanks.

Basic plan is janky & motion is useless…. Detecting a person should be default on basic. Unless you have ALL your cameras pointed inside your closet(s) you just get spammed w notifications. I used to be able to afford the premium w detection zones & that definitely had almost no spam and was worth it if you had a job. I own 9 cameras (& the security system) 6v3 & 2v4s & an outdoor solar camera. All my outdoor lights are color & my wife changes them for holidays but I’d like them to all go red “if” a person is detected & cameras say what is mentioned below. Just let me know a person is around… Next, GEOLOCATION &/or Siri — I have the garage door opener & LOVE IT; however, I still have to hit a button. I have only used it once in 2+ years from a different city for my brother who was too lazy to walk through the house. Let walkers, cleaners, etc go through the door via lockbox key, if needed. With precise location enabled & motion activity open the garage ‘if’ Im moving/approaching faster than an Olympian. Also, just let me say “Hey Siri, open/close the garage. …Siri integration would be great on all lights & Wyze devices. Lastly, let me record my voice (or use some built-in obvious statements) to say something like Welcome or You’re currently being recorded & resident has already been notified or whatever. Ok, that’s all. Love my Wyze & recommend to everyone. Yes, I realize some of what’s above is more premium but grab some low hanging feature-fruit. Best, Wyze Fanatic

Fix the landscape mode on iPad and sound detected recordings. After all these years, the Wyze app still can’t be viewed in landscape mode on an iPad. The only way around this is to use stage manager. They’ve been nagged about this for years, and despite earlier promises to the contrary, have done nothing to try to fix it. The next known problem is the “sound detected” notifications. This is yet another known issue since iOS 16 launched September 2022. You’ll get a sound detected notification, but when you click on the event in the app, the thinking wheel gets stuck going round and round and you can’t listen to the sound recording. What good is that? This happens on each and every one of my devices using the Wyze app. Further info- I’ve had the issue “fixed” for several weeks at a time… until the next iOS update comes along. So 16.1, 16.2 etc., they seem to befuddle the Wyze engineers on what to do. Seriously, this is such an amateur show. They should outsource the software. I believe the wizards of Wyze core business are cameras, but yet they can’t seem to get things quite right. Seemingly ever. Just look at all the negative reviews here. Would you trust them with your home’s security system or God forbid, a gun safe?? No thanks, not me.

Missing features. Two things that apparently are more difficult than splitting the atom, as far as Wyze is concerned, is implementing fast forward and landscape mode. It does me no good to be able to record continuously to my SD card if I can’t fast forward through that footage. It’s ridiculous. People have been begging for that feature since the very first day the very first wise cam came out. And they have never been able to accomplish it. Oh, but wait, actually they have finally as of 2021 accomplished it. If you pay an extra fee per month PER CAMERA. Then you can fast forward through your videos. Except I’m told it doesn’t actually work. Like the person detection that doesn’t work either. Apparently, like corporations, my neighbors white van and my other neighbors white cat, are people too. Some of the false indications are understandable, but those two absolutely are not. And they took away the option to report bogus alerts. I guess there’s no point in getting them reported if you’re not going to fix the issue. They are not big on fixing issues with existing products. They’ll just put out another 10 half baked products instead.

I LOVE THIS APP. OK, first of all I love this app it’s really nice and it gives you the option to you know fast forward to when there was motion detected on the camera and I got to say overall it’s pretty nice, but sometimes it gets a little glitchy that’s one peeve. I have about this app whenever I’m trying to look up on some thing it just like freezes and sort of annoying and then I have to close the app and it’s the same thing but overall that’s the thing that’s been bothering me, but it’s really nice. I think you should get it if you guys are trying to look out for a dog or like he was trying to make sure if your home is safe or if you’re trying to just check up on your kids or your dogs or whoever or if you’re a mom or dad and you’re out of town on your business trip and you trying to look out for your family, this is a nice app OK, that’s it. Hope you guys get this app because it’s really good.😊😊

Why do you need my microphone?. For starters, I use this app specifically for the lightbulbs and one plug in light. I have two lights in my living room, three lights in my bedroom and two lights in the spare room. The living room and the bedroom lights are grouped together and they’re on a timer, and at first, they all turned on and off perfectly every time. Lately, one is missing. Either my bedroom table lights will turn on and my floor lamp won’t, or one table light and the floor light will turn on, but the other table light won’t. It happens randomly and i’ll have to go back into the app to manually turn on the remaining light. As I’m sitting in my living room, the floor lamp turned on as scheduled, but my table lamp is off. It’s still online, still connected to the wyze app. Just refuses to turn on as scheduled randomly. I just deal with it… but now, since the update, wyze is asking me every. time. i. open. the. app. i to allow them to use the microphone. WHY do you need microphone use if I don’t have anything but lights attached? I’ve declined 10 times, why do you insist on asking repeatedly? There should be a permanent opt out. You don’t need to be attached to my microphone for me to use lights on a timer.

40% of the time it works every time. I have three smart locks and I’ve had them for a few years. Initially they worked pretty well, but as time went on it seemed they became less responsive to my phone entering the zone to unlock. Now I usually am able unlock the door manually before the system can even recognize I got home. Once in a while the door unlocks before I get there - it’s always a nice surprise when it works. They also don’t work with rechargeable batteries, so now I have to spend money to keep buying batteries instead of using rechargeable ones. And when I replace the batteries it usually takes the lock a few hours to recognize that the batteries are new. You can’t do anything with the lock until it recognizes that you’ve changed the battery out. And I’ve found that the battery life indicator on the locks doesn’t always change when you change the batteries. It just reads as “low” and then you can’t judge if the batteries really are low or not. Overall, its not annoying enough to replace yet, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy the smart locks.

Awful. I’ve had these cameras and used the app for a few years now. Only because I didn’t want to invest money again to try a new camera system that I found affordable. I have changed Internet companies twice since I’ve had this and every time I do that it renders the cameras useless and I’ve had to be sent new ones and go through the setup all over again. Whenever something happens with the Wi-Fi the cameras stop working and I can no longer get them to connect again. When I call customer service they ask me to a install yet another app that scans my network. I do not feel comfortable with that whatsoever and I are, so I refuse every time I have to spend over an hour on the help me walk through all the steps that I’ve already done repeatedly, and then end up sending a new camera. Currently I have four cameras that are useless. None of them will connect and I don’t have the time or the patience to be on the phone with customer service who just gives the runaround. I spent paying for the app, I wanted extra security, and it’s been nothing but an annoyance and inconvenience. I do not recommend using Wyze. At all.

Firmware update bricked three cameras and a hub. I was a customer for eight or nine months. I updated the firmware whenever the app told me one was available. This last firmware update bricked my entire system - three Wyze Cam 3’s and a hub. System was working just fine prior to the update. I went through everything with their tech support trying to find a solution. They acknowledged something must have gone wrong with the firmware update. Wyze offered me a $40 gift card. They said the cameras were out of warranty. Ok, if one of the items broken or even two, ok. But the moment I updated the firmware the entire system broke. These are not defective products, this is a defective firmware update method that allows the gear to be ruined. I absolutely expect a company to step up in a case such as this and do the right thing. I was shuffled between two different support folk trying to resolve this and they kept making an offer of a $40 gift card. My assumption is if they relaxed my cameras they are admitting their is a problem and are opening themselves up to liability. This is about the worst customer support I have been party to. You might want to see what else’s is out there… caveat emptor.

Unreliable. I had used the color bulbs for a year and NO issues, they worked with Alexa routines dependably 100%. Now 2023 and one bulb just stopped working period and I started having connectivity issues with remaining bulb. The remaining bulb started disconnecting randomly. I’ve had to delete and re-add the bulb now at least 12 times since January. It’ll work for about a week and lose connection again in the Wyze app. This has to be the app as the issue as nothing else has changed on my network except the updates Wyze has pushed out with their app. Tech support at Wyze was not helpful at all when I called in regards to the disconnect issues and the dead color bulb, pretty much just lip service. Looking now for a new supplier for bulbs and surveillance going forward which I find disappointing as I was looking at other solutions Wyze has but cannot depend on this company. I don’t have money to throw away on a company that doesn’t test their software effectively to prevent these kind of issues. If it was a one off issue and happened once or twice but it’s not, other users are having connectivity issues also since the beginning of 2023 so this is NOT an isolated case.

Not the same. This company has really gone downhill. They’re a shell of what they used to be. All they’re focused on is penny pinching now. Subscriptions, raising prices, incremental updates that break the existing product, hiding existing free features behind a subscription paywall, run promotions that seemingly have no way of actually getting the “promotional product” and their customer service has just dropped off the planet. They’re more concerned with people willing to buy the cam plus plus plus subscription that they keep adding different tiers to, and locking more features behind. They’ve really lost what brought them to prominence. There’s now much better company’s who offer not only similar, but superior features. And DO NOT penny pinch the every living crud out of the their customers. Disappointed is an understatement. What used to be my favorite company, now just comes off as greedy and uncaring. Also. The fans of their Facebook are among the most sensitive, defensive people I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Overall, I highly recommend checking out other products such as eufy. You’ll be infinitely happier with both the company and products itself

Buggy, crash-prone app. I have many Wyze devices... cameras, plugs, original bulbs, and most recently color bulbs. After installing my color bulbs the app has become buggy, touchscreen response time becomes very slow and laggy, sometimes he app crashes me out to my iphone lock screen. Deleting & reinstalling the app helps for a short time but issue creeps back until it's so bad I need to delete & reinstall again. The app functioning properly is the basic backbone to everything Wyze. Right now it has become a massive amount of hassle just to turn lights on & off or check a cam. Have submitted a support incident & log, which to my knowledge was not addressed. Updates that have been released since I've seen this problem have not made a difference. Ready to scrap the whole ecosystem and be done with this mess. (Jan 2023) Update : forgot to mention the semi annual trainwreck that ie Wyze's inability to cope with daylight savings/standard time change. Devices turn on/off an hour early, late, or not at all. Sleep routines physically flip an hour and attempts to flip it back don't stick. This is beyond frustration, Wyze is a joke. I feel bad for the poor folks trusting them for life safety issues (alarms, thermostats, etc) when they can't get a lightbulb right. DO NOT BUY Wyze.

WAS working fine. Two weeks ago all my Wyze cams were working properly (2 V3 cams, 1 doorbell, 1 cam pan). But last couple days (maybe a week or so) they all started having connection issues. The worst is the V3 I mounted outside, can hardly connect at all. Even when I tried to check the settings of that cam it's say "unstable connection" and wouldn't open the setting. The video doorbell is better, but when you pay attention to the time display, you will see the second occasionally freeze. When you turn up the volume, the background noise will occasionally be silent. The other indoor units fared better, but occasional freezing still happens, which I didn't get before. How I wish I could roll back the app updates! The "What's New" for the latest update says they added detection customization to V3. Well V3 already had this feature, now they just put the setting of this feature one layer deeper: when you open "Detection Settings" you don't see the detection zone like before, you need to tap Detection Zone to go see it. Big deal. In doing so, they messed up something else: if you set Motion Detection Sensitivity to 4, it will actually save it as 3. It didn't do that before, a newly acquired "feature" from the last update :(

WYZE works great with CAM PLUS and WiFi. I have been using my 6 WYZE cameras and 4 door sensors for 2 years. I have CAM PLUS active on 4 Cameras which gives me 14 days of cloud storage for Camera EVENTS. The cameras all have a 32 Gb micro SD card (purchased separately) which will save almost 4 days of continuous recording. Cameras without CAM PLUS will save up to 12 second video clips for detected motion/people. But then goes into a 5 minute Black out where it won’t record anything else for 5 minutes and then has the ability to record another 12 second vinyette. The door sensors work great once you physically adjust them properly and the replacement battery will last for about 6-12 months. CONS: If you lose WiFi your camera go offline and obviously no CLOUD storage during that period. I believe the Standalone Outdoor Cameras still record video. But I haven’t confirmed this yet. I’d have to put the SD card in my PC to review any file footage.

Crashes all the time. I have worked extensively with support at WYZE with these cams. Had all 3 of my cams replaced. They are still forever loosing the connection to the base which requires restarting the base then manually rebooting each camera to get them back online. This whole process takes 20 minutes to half an hour and needs to be done a couple times a day sometimes. The cam that is the farthest from the base is only about 30 feet away. I have the paid program or cam plus for two of the cams. When you pay for cam plus you are suppose to be able to record long videos when it detects motion yet the longest video that I get is 12 seconds. As well with the paid program you are supposed the be able to set it for no cooldowns in between motion detection. There was an app update a while back and now the lowest I can set the cooldown is 1 minute. During the cooldown it does not detect motion. In one minutes time a person could have been murdered and it would not detect and record it because it is cooling down. But the real problem is I paid for the no cooldown feature and now it is not available. When these cams work they work great, just like what I need them for, but they are completely flaky and fail a lot. It is work trying to keep these running and working great. I really don’t have the time for it. It’s exhausting! If I put one up high somewhere and thought I could set it and forget, not even an option because I’d have to climb to manually reboot it.

Love my Wyze cameras. Started in 2021 added outdoor and indoor cameras with base station. To be clear I’m not a tech savvy person but I’m brave enough to try new things. Since my husband is blind I need all the extra help I can get watching out for our home. I cannot express how easy this works and truly how easy it all was to install. When I wasn’t sure about how to install items I found videos on you tube super helpful and customer service was great! Bonus because It is so nice to be able to watch our elderly dog when we go out and can’t take her with us. I can actually talk to her with my Wyze indoor camera! So cool!! Wyze is cost effective and there is no downside in not using an overinflated pricey security company. I have alarms and talk features for deliveries etc. just like the spendier versions. Did I mention I installed it all myself? If I can do this anyone can. Looking forward to trying more Wyze products! Wyze Happy in Washington State.

Love each new product. We’ve been using Wyze products for quite a while now and have been extremely happy with them. The price point was the reason we first purchased a camera to use as a puppy cam. It worked so well we were encouraged to continue getting their products; we now have an outdoor cam as well as a doorbell cam. All of them work really well. We love the high definition picture for all of the cameras. It’s so handy and easy to monitor all of these cameras remotely, to turn listening on and off, and turn the microphone on and off. I no longer have to run to the door to see why my dog is barking just to find out it’s a squirrel or chipmunk. I simply access the doorbell cam. We use iPhones Xs and 12 Pro as well as the series 6 watch to monitor the cameras. The only thing that’s awkward is on the watch the notification picture is sideways. We’d like to see the app work directly on the watch rather than having to rely on notifications.

Wyze App v3.0 is terrible! Don’t Update!. If you haven’t already downloaded the app and updates me, the don’t! The app is very buggy. Cameras that were previously connected will either not connect or will take a long time to connect. I have a high-end router, along with a 4 node MESH system. There are two outside cameras among the five, that won’t connect, even when I bring a node outside within 5 feet! I even did a factory reset of the cameras and no dice. I just took a new, out of the box, never used IP Scan Cam v3 and it would not connect to the network until I brought it into the location where I have my router. After connecting , I unplugged it and located it on my kitchen counter, which is about 15’ from one of the MESH nodes. The cameras itself is moving around following me, but I can’t connect it to my iPhone. Yes, I’ve cleared the cache, etc. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! This app is poorly designed and written. We are not beta testers. Wyze needs to fix the app or bring back the old one (v2) Yes, I placed a trouble ticket and chatted with support online, who stated he was escalating to the engineers. Maybe I’ll receive a response. Buyer beware. DON’T DOWNLOAD v3.0 !

Wyze Lock App Setup - Fatal flaw that will cost you a $240 locksmith visit. I’ve been a Wyze cam user for awhile without issue, so I was excited to see the Wyze Lock with external Keypad. BUT!!!! There is a fatal flaw where you will get locked out if your house. Here’s how: As you’re walking through the setup in-app, Wyze doesn’t give any warning or heads up that AUTO-LOCK functionality is ON by default. So picture this- I’ve just installed the lock and the app asks if I want to set up the external keypad now or later. I’m here, so why not now? I’m following the instructions, starting with the app instructing me to go outside and find a good place for the keypad. I have a dog and it was freezing cold so I shut my door to keep the dog in and the cold out. Suddenly from the other side I hear a motorized sound…. Yeah that was the lock auto-locking itself when I shut the door. I’m stuck outside with no way to call a locksmith, no jacket, no gloves and a locked door. 1 hour and $240 later… my locksmith gets us inside. This all could have been avoided during the in-app instructions. Either tell the user Wyze Lock auto-locks itself OR better get, keep that feature off and let me opt-in. You’ve been warned!!! This lock deserves like 1 million negative stars.

Awesome but one major flaw. I found out about this through some research and took the chance and got 4 for my house. Keep in mind you’re paying roughly $25 for each one if you buy them in twos. That being said, you get A LOT for what you’re paying for. Good quality but small and lightweight, and easy to use and setup. My only issue is that the camera gets set off every time it detects any kind of motion. I get notifications pretty often and a lot of times it’s because a bug or a bird flew into the view of the camera. I know you can set how sensitive you want the camera to be but I wish it could distinguish an animal or a tree branch from a human body or face. If there was an update for that feature then I’d give it 5 stars. Still, with that setback these little cameras are amazing. I bought 4 of them and one of my old neighbors saw me setting them up and I told her about them. Now she bought 2. I showed my sister and she’s going to get a few as well. My girlfriend works at a shelter and they need cameras so I also recommended them to her because of the price and ease of use.

Good at first. I bought these light early in 2022, and right away I loved them. There is a wide selection of colors to choose from on their color wheel and they're pretty vibrant. Connection to wifi was pretty simple as well. I had to do it twice and it takes about a minute when you know exactly what to do. I have two main problems with these lights, however. About 4 months ago, I supposed there was an update that changed the saturation of the colors red and blue. Now when I put on red, it looks washed out and not pure red, more like if red food coloring was washed out by a little bit of water. This was super upsetting to me as red is my favorite color in the lights. My second problem is the app. I have an iphone 14 pro max and EVERYTIME, as I'm not joking, open the app, it freezes and shuts off when I try to change the color wheel and or change the brightness. I've deleted the app and redownload it multiple times and it didn't solve the problem. If anyone from the app has a solution to either of these problems, I'll keep the lights, if not, I can't recommend them and will have to move on.

Cam plus is a scam. As soon as I purchased license I get false notifications for al event, then when I go to view events they are able to be viewed . If I take the license off. Any events that do record I can watch . Don’t buy camPlus . Developer and company should be ashamed of themself for scamming thousands out of money for a service that isn’t what it’s advertised to be. The federal trade commission should be informed of this false advertisement and there lack of urgency to correct this issue which is something that has been a problem since camplus service came into existence and still to this day . I had a neighbor come to my house with a gun and I had 3 wyze cams w/camplus in the direction of where he was. Which should of recorded the events, the cameras didn’t. Luckily I had another camera of a different brand located inside my garage , it recorded the whole event without any hiccups. If it wouldn’t have he would still be walking the streets. Instead he is serving a jail sentence. Thanks for the constant failure wyze cam . You should reimburse me for the slashed tires, damaged cameras, and property I couldn’t do anything about because your lame, pathetic, poorly thought out service isn’t worth a da** . With disappointment and anger, A future non-wyze customer.

Kind of regret Wyze. I thought that I finally found the best camera system out there, but I was wrong. Wyze has many pros such as video quality is amazing, the app is easy to use and looks attractive, the cameras and cables look nice, there are many options available from doorbells to 360 cameras, and you can easily use memory cards instead of the cloud. But, I have purchased at least 10 cameras in the last 2 years, different models, and the cons are really making me regret investing in Wyze. Several of the cameras randomly glitch the video or audio. One camera doesn’t overwrite the memory card as it is setup to do. Another camera randomly restarts itself constantly. Another camera stopped working due to the charger. I can’t think of the other cons right now. Wyze does have actual people on the phone instead of automated only, but I feel like it’s difficult to replace a camera. I have a very busy schedule and it would be nice if the replacement process was easier and faster. The back and forth is really time consuming and annoying. A one time quick interaction to fix or replace would be ideal.

Works Okay With Occasional Crashes. Overall, I can’t vouch as for the advanced features on this app as I don’t have premium and decided it wasn’t worth it for me. I use my Wyze plug on a daily basis and occasionally I’ll use the camera. Plug features on app: It works fine, honestly. Nothing much to complain about; it does what I ask of it and can be set to a schedule(as someone who needs light to wake up, this was useful). Camera: Again, I didn’t use the complex features but it appeared to work fine. I wish playback for a certain time frame was possible without premium, but alas, that’s the way it is I guess. Sorry if I sound like a complete camera idiot(which I am), but the camera is ultra low res, which makes sense for storage, but if I’m not storing the video, there’s no clear advantage to having ultra low res. Options for users here would completely revamp the camera’s functionality. Overall, the app works. Sometimes. Which is basically all I can say. The app crashes frequently on startup and, while reopening the app typically fixes the issue, it still is annoying and a clear bug.

Newly purchased and pretty happy so far. So I bought these cameras and I must admit the picture quality is great and I love the sound notifications which is different than a previous system I used. The set up was simple and took only a few moments. I love that the cameras can tilt which makes it easier to find the best view. The only flaw is within the app itself. I wish it had a feature like my previous brand did, which was when I leave my house the cameras auto arm based on my cell phone location and a radius that I got to determine. I work crazy hours that change daily so it's hard to do the scheduled time period for notifications. Or another option would be to have something on the home screen of the app where you could arm all the cameras at once (or individually if the owner wants). If one of those two options became available, I would be extremely happy! I am happy though so far and look forward to future app updates which hopefully provide more options like these.

Not even one star, utterly unreliable garbage.. Do NOT buy Wyze cams if you expect a useful, quality product or reliability. This company somehow signs a deal with Costco to distribute, yet their app is such utter trash it will drop your cams constantly requiring you to reinstall them, it won’t let you save clips of events, and when it does record to the SD cards it’s all glitched and skips seconds of video at a time. This company has all the wrong priorities. Instead of selling vacuum cleaners and smart scales, they should have made their cameras worth owning in the first place. Instead they have been constantly releasing new products that are just as unreliable as their cameras. Their “flash sales” are even broken in the app. Literally nothing works as advertised. You’ve been warned. They haven’t fixed anything since my first review, despite their claims to want to assist as a response. Their tech support is useless because their app is so busted there is nothing a support tech can do to help you. Take it from a very disappointed and frustrated customer of many years. Again, you’ve been warned. Much, much better options exist. Wyze is a has-been company.

I’m all in!. There is just no better value on the market to compare with what these folks are doing and at prices within everyones reach. I saw a short news story about Wyze cameras and how they were Amazons top selling wifi camera and have wanted them since. Started with the Pan Cam. Love the pan, zoom, up and down options. The motor noise is slightly audible very much so through the app with volume up. The connection point for the power cord could be more secure and slightly water resistant maybe? Neither of these are even near deal breakers. I’m supposed to review the app, myybadd. Find me on twitch. I added the Wyze home starter bundle I scored for $50 on sale at Home Depot. $100 worth for $50. The Wyze sense starter kit is in as well. So far the app is really good I know it will be in constant growth. These people at Wyze are on top of it. I do worry they’re putting out too many products too quickly at times. But if you guys keep the user friendliness there and quality rock on. 5 Stars for all of the cool products they have alone! I do want the app on my fire tv and smart TVs though.

A very annoying experience. I have 3 wyze cams, all within 20 feet of my wifi router. I do not pay for your service because there is no value in it. If I hear something outside, I obviously want to know what is going on so I open the app, click on the camera for the area where I want to see, and it is authorizing, and authorizing, and authorizing. If it does actually load the camera it is usually 15 to 30 seconds before it comes up. Most times it times out and I have to click on reload. After all of this, whatever was going on is long over and I see nothing. So now I have to go and look at the playback for the time period I want to see but of course it is loading, and loading, and typically times out and I have to click on reload. Just an overall frustrating experience and I have no idea how you expect anyone to pay for your service when what is available for free is barely usable. I am not interested in helping you figure out what the problem with your app is, hire some people to figure that out for yourself. The cams are affordable and that is really the only plus I can say about wyze.

Cameras, not working on cellular net work anymore???. I used to speak very highly to the people I know about wyze products I’ve even gone as far as helping a couple, different families ordering wyze cameras, and I installed them at their house for them I have multiple outdoor cameras and I had five indoor cameras all of a sudden all my indoor cameras stopped working on the cellular net work when I would call Wyze technical support, they would run there test, blah blah blah, and basically tell me OK the cameras are Are now basically bad understand things happen I feel like this company purposely causes the older cameras to stop working in order for people to buy the newer cameras of the five cameras. That stopped working. I kept one because it worked if I have my Wi-Fi on but soon as I turn my home Wi-Fi off the camera stops working so I called technical support back one more time they kept trying to tell me it’s something with my net work so I went and purchased a new camera brought it home, hooked it up. Camera works without the Wi-Fi being on so it’s not my network and they can’t give me a straight answer on what the problem is. Does anybody else have an idea? Thank you in advance.

Used to be great. Update 5/23. All of my cameras are down now and will not log on to the network. Whatever last update was done bricked them all. This company took a great product and literally trashed it for whatever reason. Do not purchase their cameras. Their outlets work fine, the scale is great, but their real cornerstone the cameras are complete junk now. I have a bunch of cams and recently replaced my version 1 with the 3s. Since they decided to push their overpriced per camera plus program they have reduced the usefulness of the cameras. Putting a 5 minute cooling off period between alerts and removing live alerts makes the cameras ineffective for security. They have fantastic cameras but unless you are watching them you will likely not get information fast enough to make a difference. The pet camera price model is not a good idea. We’ve decided to take another look at our security setup and probably dump the Wyze cameras and invest in ones that aren’t going to hold their customers hostage. Very, very disappointing. Update- getting hit with updates constantly. Cameras go offline continuously afterwards and I have to go around resetting them. This was a great camera system that’s been done in by a no so great business model.

Close but needs work. UPDATED REVIEW The setup is easy, the product looks and feels nice, and the video quality is great. The problem: it consistently doesn’t work. The video just doesn’t load and you have to unplug it in order to get it to work again. I’m rooting for this product, it’s early days and I’m sure the tram will figure it out, but until they do I have to leave this review at 3 stars. We’re using it as a baby monitor so if it doesn’t work any percent of the time it basically doesn’t work. ORIGINAL REVIEW I’d be happy with this product if it had cost be $100. It’s comparable to top of the line camera products, it’s clear that the team has put a lot of thought into how people would use it. The setup was incredibly easy, the camera looks and feels sturdier than I expected due to the price point, and the app has been flawless for us thus far. Even the audio works well enough. We’ll be buying a few more of the cameras now that we’ve had a chance to test this, and are excited to see what other products the team comes out with in the future.

As good as garbage now. Thing worked great while on the free program. Seems as soon as that wasn’t active it took about a month for the thing to become wholly in worthless. Every alert buffers and won’t playback. It won’t go to live feed and it won’t record despite countless reformats of the SD card. I bought this thing because it was supposed to work without the need for one of the cloud services others try and hook you into. Why else would I want a 30 gig Sd card if not to record directly on site and not into a paid cloud. You would think that would make it immune to connection issues to at least recall the stuff recorded already. Wrong. Even that was sub par in the best of times because it seems they left features out on purpose to force you to subscribe. For example when the recorded playback feature did work, it wouldn’t allow you to pause, rewind or fast time forward. Nor will it jump to where it had seen and alerted of something. Those things were available in the subscription form. The sensitivity and zone recognition is as good as useless and to top that off the thing won’t even stay set with the preferences I choose now anyway. What a pile of crap

Many issues that should not exist. Keep getting double notifications on cam plus camera. No one can seem to figure it out. It just started doing it one day. Another thing that annoys me is when I go to events for the first time on a day, it will say no events until I click on the previous day and then click again on the current day. Then they all show up. This is every day. EVERY DAY. Why are you not able to fix this stuff? This app is way too clunky for me not to be nervous at how well you are keeping my stuff private. Also the cameras pick up the most minor movement from a bush in the wind but will miss a whole person. How is that possible? The AI filtering for my camera seems to be getting dumber not smarter. How many times do you have to submit events tagged as showing nothing? It can’t tell between a person and a vehicle. Still. A dog and a car? Nope. Can’t call it. Will call a bush branch moving a vehicle. Everything is a vehicle to these cameras. Can’t record sound to save its life either. Sounds like someone talkin into a tin can if you get any sound at all. I need a video doorbell but I’m going with someone else.

Could be the best but….. I’ve had these cameras for at least 5 years 3 v2 and 3 v3, I feel v3 has lots of quality advantages but recently the playback is awful. I had a slight incident and needed to playback, I went to the events screen and I was having problems playing back from my sd card. I called the customer service and the person was nice but - I was having the same playback issue on both cameras and the SD card was full and instead of recording over it - it just stopped- so I was instructed to format- losing all my data, plus how could two cameras have the same issue- it’s either the camera firmware or the app. I truly wish the app was more intuitive- it’s very clunky and outdated- & sd playback is average at best when it works. This company grew so fast and released so many products it feels they forgot the main product that made them success. I will update the to the next version and hope that things get better but low expectations. Please overhaul the app and make it better than the rest available on the market. Thanks

Fantastic app. Was surprised their “cam-plus” cloud subscription option rendered the need for an SD card per cam no longer an immediate necessity which saved me tons and meant my home upon subscribing to the free trial initially was secured off the rip without needing to get extra money together for individual SD cards (bought second-hand used devices didnt know how much the storage microsd cards were gonna be til after purchase and couldnt afford most that i wouldve needed) The customizable “smart-detection” and customizable motion detection features are so useful in reducing unnecessary phone pings, mine hasnt gone off for false detection in past 3 weeks except for maybe twice but otherwise the other dozens of notifications have always been an actual person and so i feel safe and confident in both the app and the cam devices to not just work but work accurately and in a timely manner. Which so far has been amazingly diff

Used to be worth it.. not anymore. Bought a starter kit for my husband a few years ago that included a camera, several light bulbs and a few plugs. During the pandemic, I set up the camera on our driveway since I was home alone during the day, and a light in my kitchen because I could set it on a timer. Everything worked great for a while, then everything went downhill -FAST. The light no longer works on the set schedule, and the camera stopped picking up/notifying me when people were in the driveway. I even had a woman come to my door in a bright yellow coat that the camera never even detected. Now, after I’ve already been frustrated with the app for months, the camera no longer records video - just takes stills - of the things in my driveway unless I pay a subscription fee. This is ridiculous. I bought the system because I didn’t want to pay for a Ring system, but I should have just spent the extra money then instead of having a lot of expensive paper weights around the house and having to spend the money now so I can have a reliable system to monitor my front door. Worst investment ever.

Issues! And no help with tickets! Or CS. I have four of the cam pan v3 cameras, The first two I bought the audio was terrible. You couldn’t hear anything and you could barely talk through it now after a few updates for work because the two I bought after that did the same thing. But the sirens worked on all for, but now the siren only works on one! That won’t update, cause it shows offline but when you click on it it’s working, you can talk through it and hear! The 3 with the newest update the sirens won’t work! I’ve tried everything on my end I can do and reached out multiple times in the past 3months. No response and no help from CS! Also the camera that shows offline I switched with another one and it completely killed the camera it won’t power on now, after unplugging it multiple times… idk what happened it won’t work at all now. So down to 3. I truly enjoy the wyze brand when they work correctly and the idea it great but usually nothing ever works like it should all together/same time.

Every version is worse. It’s like Wyze is self sabotaging. Every version gets worse. I used to beba fierce advocate for a fresh, spontaneous, honest and affordable brand. Everything seemed great because it just worked, It since Wyze decided to diversify and distract from what it used to do (great cameras), the app is absolute trash. Today I updated ton the latest version. The previous one was working... it had lots of bugs but I had get used to it. This one is not working at all. Two of my cams completely stopped working after the latest update. In the ones that work the quality is rubbish. The Pan cam takes forever to respond to my commands if I want to change its position. If it refreshes, the images gets completely blurry. I get notifications of the complete motion recordings but I can’t see the cameras in real time. I had to completely delete them, and they’re still not working as I want. With Every update they make it more unusable. I used to really love this brand but you’re disappointing your core base users with pointless and superficial projects like the band or the weight. At this Point the brand has lost my respect and my support. I use them because I can’t afford to completely change my cams, but I just can’t trust the brand anymore.

Ever since they started charging more. Despite my active subscription to Cam Plus, I am experiencing a problem where my account appears to be losing access to this service, even though I am still being billed for it. Additionally, my cameras are being removed from my account, yet I can still hear the activation clicks when they become active, despite them no longer being connected. This situation raises significant security concerns, as the IP log shows various unknown devices connecting to my cameras. When I reached out to Wyze customer support, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency and unwillingness to provide any information or explanation for these issues. This is particularly concerning from a security standpoint. If these cameras were intended to record something critical and the device was compromised, it seems there would be no recourse, as Wyze would not acknowledge the existence of the account, even with the credit card on file and corresponding receipts. In such a scenario, all recorded videos would be lost without any acknowledgment from Wyze. I hope this issue can be addressed promptly, as it is a matter of both service reliability and customer trust.

Nursing it along. We’ve had Wyze products for 3 years now. We have a home monitoring system with 4 indoor cameras and 2 outdoor cameras, multiple door and window sensors, 2 keypads and pay for the annual subscription. We have also had 3 Wyze watches. I’ve tried really hard to utilize and enjoy this system, but after 3 years I find myself nursing this system along as well the devices. I’ve had 2 cameras go out on me, just stopped working, and a watch completely die. I’ve reached out to customer service multiple times with absolutely ZERO response. I am allowing these products to all phase themselves out before I purchase a new system and it won’t be Wyze. But for now it is what it is. The cameras I have are working fine, I had to buy a new watch to replace one that died because I couldn’t get ahold of anyone with custom service and for $30 I wasn’t ready to buy a real smart watch. This will work for now. The home monitoring system has worked fine, they call me every time we trip our alarm. There hasn’t even been a real need for it. Overall I won’t be purchasing Wyze products because they are too cheap and I don’t get any help when something stops working.

Horrible app, crashes your Apple Watch. I have gone through 3 months of blaming apple for making a watch that constantly reboots. I went through sending back 3 watches to try to figure out what was causing my watch series 5 and series 6 to constantly reboot in a cycle that would do nothing but show the watch face for seconds then reboot, so unstable. But finally online someone else said that this app was the cause of it, and sure enough uninstalling it my watch is back to normal. I don’t know if I blame the Wyze developers for not having the competence to build an app without crashing the entire ecosystem, or apple for approving it without testing it more. But I have returned 3 watches to apple, and erased my entire iPhone troubleshooting apps one by one per a request from apple. All this troubleshooting was not worth it, I was ready to leave apple and now ready to dump my Wyze cameras, this was way too much of a headache. I just hope this review saves someone else the miserable headaches this all caused me, and to this day apple didn’t come up with a solution. I keep reporting it hoping they will look into it and get a fix, I also contacted Wyze to let them know. This made my watch completely unusable.

Push notifications will not stop. 1st complaint: every time I look at an event video, a pop up appears which urges me to subscribe to their online service. **** I DO NOT WANT THE SERVICE **** . Please give us the option to select “Do not ask again” 2nd complaint: You cannot disable push notifications. I have tried, turning off the ‘option’ for an individual camera, and for all devices. It only works for a few hours. Within less than a day, all push notifications have been re-enabled. Recently, we were away from home, and, at 3am, one of our cats was walking repeatedly past a camera, causing continuous notifications. After I looked at the first few, to figure out what was going on, a full screen pop up appeared, telling me to subscribe to their online service. There was only one option offered: a single button that said “subscribe”.. I had to kill the app & restart to get rid of the pop up. After that, I found the options to turn off all push notifications. This worked for about an hour, when we again started receiving non stop notifications. Wyze cameras are ok, but their overly aggressive marketing strategy & lousy software rate them zero stars. Unfortunately one star is the lowest allowed.

The app works, but veining events becomes impossible.. Yes, I get it… CamPlus this, CamPlus that. I have a MicroSD card and can hardly view any of the events without the nag screen of “get CamPlus” each and every time I dare to tap the screen. I have to hurry and press the “ X “ in the corner to close the screen in hopes that the event UI is still on screen long enough for me to interact with it. If not, then another “Get CamPlus” screen has to be seen… if I want to SAVE the event to my photo album, then I have to see “GET CAMPLUS GET CAMPLUS” and hurry to close that so the button to save a photo will appear… if I want to make the event full screen? “GET CAMPLUS GET CAMPLUS GET CAMPLUS GET CAMPLUS GET CAMPLUS GATCAMPLUSCAMPLUSCAMPLUSCAMPLUSCAMPLUSYOUDBETTERGETCAMPLUSORWEARENTLEAVINGYOUALONECAMPLUSCAMPLUSCAMPLUS”… in order to zoom, to do anything in the full screen event view, the nag screen comes up ANY TIME your finger comes in contact with the screen. I’m ready to return the camera and go with another brand, because this is annoying to me. I get it, you want people to subscribe but nagging me to death and making the app near impossible to view past events doesn’t work for me.

Unable to use Cam Plus. ***UPDATED REVIEW: Spoke with customer service tech who helped me try out a few things to remedy the error. Didn’t work that first night, as my app still wouldn’t show the updated firmware version as available. He had me send in an app log to see if we could get anywhere with that. This morning, I got notification from the app that a firmware upgrade was available and now everything is working without a hitch! Really impressed with customer support. They were incredibly prompt with replies and very detailed in what steps to take to fix the issues. Definitely one of the better customer service experiences I’ve had. Very excited to use the cam and app with full function! //Original review: All setup, firmware updated. It will not allow me to assign my subscription service to my camera as it keeps giving a Firmware Not Supported error message. Super frustrating. If I can get that remedied, my rating will be higher.

Was a loyal customer since 2017, now I’m switching to another brand…. Since the famous “hack” with Wyze, things have gone bad. Especially with all these new products they keep pushing out but yet won’t bother to update or fix the older products that we pay a subscription to use at this point. Our app has been crashing since the beginning of Dec, and is still unusable on iPhone. The Wyze light bulbs have been “offline” since Dec too and honestly I’m upset that these “really awesome” lights are not JUST lights that we paid to do routines, turn colors certain times, shut down when no person detected, but since the cameras aren’t working, and the bulbs are offline, the products are unusable. We wanted to give it another chance, we promoted the heck out of Wyze. We were super loyal but now, we are switching to either Ring or Blink. We definitely need the security system to work because we live in a dangerous area unfortunately. So, sorry, peace out Wyze.

Much better than its price suggests. If you’re on the fence about Wyze, trust me when I say it’s worth it! It works well enough with Alexa, though not great. Still, it's fantastic with IFTTT! The quality and auto-night vision are also better than you’d expect. I can only give the app 4 stars because, while it is good for watching a live stream, it’s missing a few features. You can change the quality from 720p to 360p but even the lowest setting the video is still very watchable if you don’t need to zoom in too much. There are several automations to play with; more than enough for any smart homes. The camera load time is adequate at 3-4 seconds, just a tad bit slower than my Nest (which is a lot more expensive). All this being said, watching a playback of previously recorded video is so difficult to use. The way you have to FF and RW is not even close to being helpful in finding a certain event. It would be great if the developers added a “Skip 15 seconds” feature or whatever period of time. It would make life so much easier than trying to use only the little slider in the current app.

Was fine before update. Holy cow I cannot use the app now without being inundated with ads to get premium on all cameras. Not to mention they made the adds be placed in the way of the back button so it makes you have to open an add in order to deny interest on some of them. This is incredibly frustrating, we pay premium on some cams, don’t need it on all devices, but we are still inundated with advertisements for premium. If I am looking through my event history I am getting adds every two clicks. I wish I never had to update the app. If we hadn’t already bought the hardware I would consider canceling service to find another camera company that doesn’t inundate you with advertisements when you are trying to check your security devices. Also the ai detection is terrible, many times it says it’s detected a person and there is a bus/ car driving by or a tree moving it’s branch. If you are on the fence and wanting it due to ai detection I would skip until they improve it. If you get sd cards for your cameras you don’t need the premium service. But be ready to have spamville all over your app telling you to get premium service.
