Great app but Please add Weather. My son loves this but he is very interested in weather in different regions, can you look into adding weather for different regions?

Orboot & Globe. There is no sound in this , & I have tried to fix it by going to Settings and Set the control settings, yet no sound at all. What do I need to do fix it so my grandson can play & learn this game with sound? You have a bad bug in your software that needs to be fixed. I get sound when I play other games & movies. This child’s game is very bad and should be removed from Apple market!

Phone gets really hot, really fast. I’m concerned that my phone (xs max) gets really hot fast. Within the first minute of launching the app, it gets so noticeable. It is the latest phone with the latest software but is this normal? Also, sometimes the graphic will fail to show up when we explore the globe (starfish especially). Is this a bug? Please include it on your next fix, thanks! And one sad part... I was planning on using my old iPad for my son on this exploration but sadly the app failed to launch on older ones. Please help us utilize our old tablets (make apps lighter?) to help our kids explore your wonderful Orboot!

It is fun but….. one thing. For me it glitches a lot. and you could make it better with more options.

Fun and entertaining for my 5yo but lots of room for improvement. The poo park balance ecosystem sometimes doesn’t work even when you do exactly what the hint suggests. When you learn about animals, the only quiz is “what does it eat?” The globe itself is so shiny and reflective that my brand new phone camera cannot detect the pictures/stars or light reflections. They need to make a matte finish globe. The globe continents are not to scale at all and I’d like to see country names on the globe.

Not compatible with new iPad mini. In app mute button can’t be disabled making app unusable. App instructs user to turn mute off with switch on device. The last two iPads we’ve had no longer have that switch. There doesn’t seem to be a way to turn on the sound in our case. Bummer....

Awesome Tech. Ran into some trouble on Christmas Day connecting to the server, but it has been resolved. I wrote to support and they got back to me right away. I was able to connect the next day. So a little hassle, but it happened with all the tech we bought our son. Once loaded onto the ipad, and iPhone we were off and running. I can definitely see that we are going to have great fun while learning. Really glad we got him the globe. Wish they had something like this when I was 3 years old!!

Iphone 14 cannot focus the image. When I use an older iPad the app crashes even tough I have space, and when using an iPhone 14 the camera doesn’t focus and the globe cannot really be used. The concept is great, but I haven’t been able to try it.

Awesome! GREAT APP. We got this for Christmas and we already love it! Easy app installation too. Come home everyday after school and don’t want to stop playing on the app! The suggestion would be: Oko Park- when needing a hint, maybe give more than one hint. But seriously love the app. GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works on 1 iPad but not the other…. We got the globe, downloaded on two separate iPads for two kids. Both have the newest generation iPads. One gave us the option to give permission to use the camera, but the other doesn’t even give us the option to approve its use. How should we fix this? One of our kids can’t even properly play now. Very frustrating. We have tried restarting the iPad, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling. We have searched all over the settings and no options are given. Please help.

Best homeschool tool ever!. Sometimes, I just need a moment to myself, or a moment of calm during the hectic day. And sometimes, I just want to watch my kids get along for a little bit. Lol. This invention gives me all of that! My kids, ages 1, 3, 9 & 11 love this globe and the interactive app and they can all use it at the same time and even on their own (except for the 1 yo 😉). It's amazing to have something that's geared toward so many ages in our household! I love that the app does everything and the globe needs nothing, in order to work (no batteries or outlets). Nothing on the globe will ever need updating and the app can be easily updated with more information in the future (both were huge selling points for us). I would love to see a flat map designed for this app, to easily travel with on planes and whatnot. And, maybe some travel games! 😊 Overall, we love Orboot so much that we bought a second globe for our niece and nephews! We can't wait to get the dinosaur globe next.

Orboot Fun, but Inaccurate.. Well, once we freed up a ton of space, we dove right in, and it held our attention. However, within the first two mysteries already found two mistakes. In the Sea World where we had to find a dolphin, it told us we were looking at the Atlantic when we were in the Pacific. In the next mystery about a painting it asked us to find Greenland, calling it a country. Is it one mistake per mystery for the rest of the game?

Uses wrong camera. On iPhone 14 Pro, the game tries to use the wide angle camera, which cannot focus close enough to get the AR hotspots to trigger. Cannot find any place in the app to configure it to use the correct camera, making it essentially unusable.

App not working right. We bought this for our 4 year old and thought it was a great product. We were right, it was great, awesome even, until it wasn’t. The volume won’t work anymore. It did for 2 days then it didn’t. I even got mad at my son telling him not to touch icons he is not supposed to touch icons other than what we told him. and he said he didn’t touch anything. Until I read the reviews and realize this is a common issue with the app. The app says I mute the iPad but it is not muted. My other apps are working just fine.

App does not work. App does not work on my son’s 1 year old iPad nor will it work on my iPhone 14pro. It sits at the sync page and clicking “sync now” does nothing. I’ve force closed out the app multiple times on both devices, and restarted, to just come back to the same problem. I would think this was a fluke, except reading through the reviews it seems this is a common problem.

It’s for you. It helps you learn and it’s fine I love learning about new cuisine and animals I just learned the word crazy well I mean I know it means it’s just I get to see all the foods in travel all the world The best app EVER!!!

AMAZING. I love this so so so much I just got it for Xmas Santa got me it! My friends are begging to have it and it’s just amazing in General get the globe and geography is my favorite subject so this is perfect for me!

Disappointing setup experience at best. The app gets stuck on a “Sync Categories” screen during initial setup. My kid, who was super excited during unboxing, lost patience after 15 mins of troubleshooting and then lost interest in this toy. I still haven’t been able to get past the setup. Disappointed that the PlayShifu team pushed out an app with such a poor setup experience.

Good app, but needs more mysteries. Thanks for updating the app! You made better animal models and checked your facts. I just need a few more mysteries and more sections for the US and Africa in cultures, because there are lots of culture around the world. Not everyone lives in the US, so maybe you can make more facts on the US. Otherwise, an enjoyable app.

Good idea but content is weak and sometimes inaccurate. The idea of this app and toy is amazing. Young learners point device at globe and learn. However, in my opinion the good is wiped out by the content. The content is poor and sometimes flat out wrong (ie blue whales don’t eat fish, dudes, and it’s called a Proboscis monkey not a probiscis monkey). Reads as if it was written by a English second language person and the facts are just weird and often not particularly relevant. The creators’ phony international accents are at minimum bad and at worst pretty offensive to people from those places. My suggestion to the creators: pay some professionals to do your content rather than doing it yourself. This includes the script and the accents.

Christmas Day fail. My little boy was so excited for this but the app is apparently uninterested in happiness. I get to the sync screen and I’m unable to select or sync. The buttons are acting like they’re not actually set. Before I get old iPad or networking advice, it’s a new iPad, it’s updated, my wifi is ridiculously fast and there’s plenty of space. Settings all look correct. So….. followed the links to get to expert chat and, oh look at that I have to pay. WTH guys?

Not for a deep dive.... In a time where National Geographic or Discover Channel, or heck even a moderately competent adult with a phone can help a child explore the world, I had hoped this would go beyond the surface of trite, well known information about places and animals. For instance, I thought seeing multiple sea turtles on the globe would mean the app would explore the different species or talk about their migration patterns... but nope, just the same information across multiple continents... and to make it worse they even played into the “surfer dude” stereotype when they give a “voice” to the sea turtle... Totally a highjack from Finding Nemo... Just a disappointment.

Unable to download content in app, also not able to select content. Ruined Christmas!. My daughter received the Orboot globe for Christmas but the app does not function because it cannot download the content in the app. Does not allow selection or deselection of content and does not allow download. The app itself downloaded but does not work without the content download.

Great app sad to see bad reviews. This app is great and you can do ar expore on the globe and they have stares on the globe so they can see where you csn match the star on your screen to the globe is nice its self not cheap though you do need the app to be able to work or else its just a globe and thats not bad but if you want the app you have to have the globe or its not fun the games work without wifi but ar globe does not in the app this app and globe have a great idea and i great businesses I encourage you to get the app if you have the globe

Problems, addressed in minutes, stellar support. I had an issue with the app going to a blank screen on my son’s iPad mini 4 and on a Sunday within 20 minutes the issue was rectified through 2 emails via their absolutely stellar tech support. High praise deserved for certain. (FYI, the app needs more than 4 GB free. Then delete the app, restart iPad, and reinstall from the App Store.)

Can’t even install. I got this as a Christmas present and we needed this app so we installed it but the gift was worthless because the app doesn’t work. When you first come in everything seems to be working until it gives you A no Internet message, even if you have a good Internet. and once you get to the install page, you can’t click on anything! We’re sending it back because of this stupid app. I hope you get it fixed.

Sound doesn’t work. No matter how we go about it, we cannot get the sound to work on the app making it completely useless for my child unless I am with him reading everything for him. This needs to be fixed ASAP or we’ll be returning it.

No camera focus. I can’t get passed the first step because the app won’t pick up on the Statue of Liberty, even when it’s perfectly aligned. There are not any buttons available to bypass the issue. I have a brand new iPhone, so I know the technology is not the issue. I was really excited to use this with my nieces and they love the globe. It is a cool setup. It’s a shame the app doesn’t work the way it was intended. We are all disappointed.

Great game but…. My kid loves this game but we don’t like that there’s the AR reminder because it’s annoying also when there is the AR reminder my kid gets weirded out when she sees the word nausea, vomit, puke, throw up and many other things even though that never happens so I want there to be a don’t show this again button

Mixed Feelings. This is fantastic with so much information and variety of activities/information. My issues are that you have to hold the camera perfectly still over a star or it will disappear. We also have issues with stars not pulling anything up when there’s plenty of light. Obviously gets frustrating for a 6 year old, it even frustrates me. Now, most disappointing of all, I click the app, it opens the spin the globe screen, then just closes out. I thought the app needed updated, but no, there’s nothing I can do to get this app to stay open on my iPhone 8+. I paid too much money for this globe to just be a hunk of plastic taking up space. The underlying usage is great, but glitches definitely need worked out and all is useless if the app won’t open.

So fun!. Hi I’m 8 and I love this app! Very educational and fun at the same time. I have learned so much about different countries and the people and animals and the games are fun.

No compatibility. It’s one thing for people to dismiss complaints about this product not working with older iPads and it is an entirely different matter when those iPads are listed as being compatible with the product and then told for months that there is an issue with the app that is being worked on but then several updates later is no closer to being resolved. If I had purchased this assuming it would work with the iPad I had designated for my daughter and then found out they were not compatible it would be one thing, but I verified they were compatible before purchase and then have been stuck with the message that “You’re working on it,” indefinitely. If not compatible then don’t list it as compatible and then try to fix it after launch. Or at the very least, actually fix the issues before you develop the new features that continue not to be available for those other customers you screwed over.

I’m so sorry. That it was just my first time playing with it so sorry about that I got the app and I love it I’m in 3 Grade so me and my mum ack like we’re going flying to places and it is fun for me and my mum and thank you very much!!!!

Absolute Waste of Time! Does not work. Obviously these people have issues from the server side and connectivity. This always comes down to bad and cheap programming or privacy issues getting your domain blocked. Either one are a big issues with the app getting them banned on servers. There’s nothing like going through all of the steps including calling their support number only to have them tell you to “connect to another WiFi” ok,does not work. let’s try to “hotspot” no that does not work. Let’s try airplane mode. No that does not work. Finally simply telling me they have no othe r options but to write an email to support. But, wait I’m talking to support so what will change when you get an email? Nothing. That’s what: these people need to get their quality together. My guess is they are going to see hundreds if not thousands of these things returned after the holidays. And it’s well deserved.

I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. I like the game but I have problems with one part of oko park and I am having a hard time with it and it is getting horrible 😡😡😡 that’s why I wanted to rate it!!! P.S please read this!!!

Educational and Entertaining. Our 5 year old grandson just received the Orboot Earth Globe and loves it so far. The software is interactive and fun. Some aspects of the software will also work without the globe which is very useful. We initially had some issues downloading and syncing the software, but the developer contacted us and provided an app update that fixed our connection and syncing problems. The interactive nature of using the iPad with the globe is a little tricky for a 5 year old to navigate, as the camera has to be aimed precisely at small stars on the globe for the app to introduce features, and if the user holds and aims the iPad with 2 hands (as per the instructions) they cannot tap the screen to access the interactive feature. We also wish the globe had some kind of labels on it to help kids identify continents, countries, oceans, etc. while they are looking at the globe without their electronic device. It seems like it would be a more valuable teaching and learning tool if the globe itself more closely and more accurately resembled a more traditional globe.

Old iPad = Bad app experience. It’s Sad that such a good educational system gets so many bad review, coz they are either using old and rusty iPads or an iPad with no space.. The globe (Orboot) and the app together is a great system of learning for kids kindergarten and up.. I personally feel it’s best if used with kids second grade and up.. even adults can learn a lot.. The new addition oko park is great. I hope the developers keep up the good work and keep updating the app so it become better and better .its come a long way already. In the tour portion I would like something where u are a train or a plane and u start from where u live and go around exploring the world bit by bit so it becomes like a game and there is achievements and prizes as you progress . Also It would be great if u guys could lower the price o the globe a little so more people buy it.. also please add activities for the kids to do within the app Orboot should be owned by every home schooler or those parents who use the iPad as an education tool for their kids.. The potential for the app to grow is limitless .. it’s up to developers to seek new ideas and evolve Orboot into something every kid enjoys do it..

Great app. Had a little trouble during Christmas because of all the traffic but the company reached out and helped me solve the issue. My son loves exploring the world. If you have trouble like I did uninstall the app and reinstall.

Great idea, poor performance. Edit: I got the response that once you set it up, you don’t need wifi. That’s a lie. It WILL not work on AR unless you’re connected to the internet. Believe me, I’ve tried. Original review: My child got the globe as a gift and unfortunately, you HAVE to use the app. The camera on multiple devices looks blurry when the camera usually isn’t. On the iPhone, I can’t turn on the sound. On my kindle fire, the camera works once on the app and then IT KILLED MY CAMERA COMPLETELY! Now the camera on two kindle fires won’t work when it did previously to downloading the app. Lastly, the website and advertisements show that you don’t need the internet or wifi for it to work when in fact, you do. The globe cost a family member a lot of money for it to be useless.

If I could give a zero I would. Easy installation is not so easy. Downloaded the app, pointed the compatible iPad (with an enormous amount of available storage) and all my daughter has is a blank screen. Yes it’s Christmas, so service may be hard to achieve, but try explaining why something doesn’t work to a child that has autism. Don’t even get me started on the so called parent app...it can’t find either of my email addresses to create a new account. Sad this is the gift she wants to explore more than any other right now. Had I purchased this the globe would be in the trash right now.

Not kid friendly. My biggest complaint about this globe and app is that a parent has to operate the device because nothing about this app and globe is kid friendly. It requires exact precision and a very steady hand to focus on the areas of the globe the child wants to learn about. I struggle with it as an adult using either my iPhone or iPad, but it is impossible for my 6 year old to operate. Great concept, but Orboot should have its own device that kids can easily operate instead of having to use their parents devices that don’t work that great.

Won’t download on iPad. The cultures, etc won’t download on the iPad app (even though my pad has plenty of space). Also, globe should have some text for continents or oceans at least.

Waste of time. Tells me it doesnt connect to their shifu servers, tried multi devices and difference servers. Wasted time on xmas morning with this thing, only to find out so many others out there are having this same issue when i looked it up online. Not worth wasting your time or money with this thing.

A great beginning!. As a teacher I am really looking forward to using this Globe with my grade 2 ESL students. I hope some of the smaller countries information will be added in future versions of the app.

Best app for history class. I can use it for history class which helps a lot so I can see where this originates from where that originates from a example where do octopuses live where can I find the most sharks? it’s a very great app and all my friends that came over they were like what is this and I said it’s a very cool globe it’s not just a plain old globe. so I give a five out of five because it’s a very good app and it’s used and it’s a multipurpose globe.

Neat idea, poor app. Wish this app worked better after buying the expensive globe to go with it. Neat idea but app doesn’t perform. Bought a year ago and have numerous updates and it’s never worked well. Always glitching. Synching. Timing out.

It’s shameful. You have ignored everything that You didn’t like, there is nothing about most part of the world, Iran is a very big country with a big history, culture, cuisine and nature and you have nothing about it in this app just because of political issues, shame on you

Doesn’t work. Can’t even get past the setup on any of our devices (iPhone 12/iPad, iOS 16). Says there’s network error. So I try continuing as a guest and can’t get past the next download/sync screen. Nothing happens after pressing sync button… no progress loading bar or error message, just frozen. Our network and internet are fine. Makes for a disappointed 4 year old and frustrating Xmas present. Hopefully whoever gave this as a gift didn’t waste too much money.

Doesn’t work. The app won’t progress past the Sync Categories screen. Nothing happens when I press “Sync Now”. Tried on two different iPads and an iPhone, too. My nephew was so disappointed on Christmas Day that he couldn’t play with his present – truly upsetting that I had to tell him “I’m sorry, it’s not working”.

Wasted money. The app is not working on my I Pad 6th gen even if it was supposed to be compatible. It says my wi fi doesn’t let me connect to the Shifu servers, but the same wi fi worked for the cellphone. If you are looking for reviews before buying the globe, just avoid this garbage

Why Iran or Persia is absent. This is a good tool and a lot of fun for kids to learn about different countries. How come Iran is absent ? Persian civilization is one of the biggest civilization in human history with lots of savants and inventions. How come the country is absent from your globe. How can you ignore a civilization and a country like this ? I was curious... You don’t emphasize enough on the name of the countries with this toy.

Not ready for prime time. Difficult to focus on stars that bring up local information. Frustrating for both children and adults. Insufficient number of locations with information. Geographic regions too general. No countries on globe. Interesting idea but not of much academic value.

is the server down?. We are trying to download the map, but the server seems to be always down. Unable to play this toy without the map downloaded in the app!!!!

Is there a working version?. App can’t connect to servers. Asks to download almost 800 MB of files, but no matter how many times you click accept it doesn’t start the download. “Help” line is an international long distance call. I hope someone reads this review and fixes this asap or it is going back in the box for return.

App not working?. I can't access the app. Says I need 1 GB ram for the app to open. But I have at least 5 GB available so not sure why it's not working. I've never had this problem with any other application before?

Fun app but.... It is a great app but it reloads where to much when I start playing it reload and I have to start over again and it was not my internet. But it was not my first time playing it I had it before today and it was fine after that I couldn’t but when I saw the thing is fixed I added it. But that thing is still reloading.

App not compatible. We have the newest iPad, however app won’t play sounds and tells us to unmute iPad, even though there is no mute switch on newer iPads.

Disappointing Christmas Gift. We got our son an Orboot glove for Christmas, and we still haven’t been able to get the information to download in the app. We will try to figure out if we can return it - at this point, it’s a dud.

Camera won’t focus on app. No problem downloading but even with one of the newest iPhones the camera won’t focus so we can’t even learn about anything on the globe. Is there a way to fix this?

Continuously sticks upon opening. I have to redo load the app every time I want to use it. Terrible. Continuously gets stuck on the download/sync page. Terrible engineering.

Connection Issue. Per a recent review I read, I am not using an old “rusty” ipad but an iPhone 13 pro max and have been unsuccessful on 5G and Wi-Fi in connecting to download the content. Hopefully it will eventually connect but for now my son is disappointed and I am as well.

Used to be so/so. When the app did work, it was hard to maneuver the globe and iPad. Now that the app won’t get passed the loading screen, it’s a total waste.

Great. This app is so good it teaches me new things about sooooo many stuff it’s great and it helps kids a lot on their knowledge

Still will not download. Say after Xmas and still not working … app gets stuck and won’t download… plenty space etc but will not work. Apparently issue is known.

Great for kids. This app is great for learning about animals cultures and things on earth, it is great for kids to learn on.

App not functional. We have the correct iPad for this app and it will still not load beyond the “sync” screen no matter how many times we restart the iPad or app. I should have considered the warning reviews more carefully. Worst Christmas present to date.

Won’t sync. It’s a good app it just won’t sync for some reason. I love it but it just will not sync!

Holiday fail. I’ve been trying to sync for 2 days and it doesn’t work. My husband has also tried countless times. Don’t sell something that your system can’t handle.

Can Not Get Past Sync Categories. We have a 9th Gen iPad and our child can’t use the globe because we can not continue past Sync Categories. Tried different internet connections, closing app, rebooting iPad, nothing works.

Love it!. We are new homeschoolers this year, and Orboot is my 2nd grader’s favorite part of the school day! He loves all the facts and activities! It keeps him entertained for a while!

Learn, Play, have Artifacts that are fame, this is my kind of game. This is a great learning experience and great game that is fun. I think it’s great.

App won’t sync on Christmas Day or day after. Developer should look in to server failure over holiday with multiple reports of people unable to sync the app to use any of the coordinating devices. Big let down for gift giving.

Doesn’t line up every time. I have a 6th generation iPad and wouldn’t recommend for kids younger than 6. You have to be spot on on the globe for it to work.

Unable to sync. Unable to sync for days. I did receive a message from the app that their servers were down and there was high volume. Poor choice for Christmas gift that you are unable to use. Rather disappointing.

Cannot connect to servers. I tried connecting on two different devices on two different networks and I continue to get the same error message that my network cannot connect to the shift servers. My 7-year old daughter was quite disappointed.

It just has a Few problems. I like it is good. But I Don’t like how it Doesn’t have a Star for Canada. and I Don’t like how on the globe show’s buildings in Dubai that they Don’t teach about.

Love you so much. this game is awesome because they go anywhere one because it teaches us all cities and states . that’s my favorite one!

Bad app. My son and niece got this as a Christmas present and we were so excited to start playing with it. Sadly the app won’t pass from the sync categories part, we have been trying every day and nothing.

Perfect. This app may be hard at first but after you are done with the begging . The app is perfect and tells you lots of information about the world

No compatibility!. Can’t use the app anymore even after the update! It’s basically a paper weight now. Disappointing

The app is not downloading. When I try a press the sync button nothing happens. I deleted and redownloaded the app, but it still doesn’t do anything when you press the sync button.
