WiFox App Description & Overview
What is wifox app? WiFox is a continually updated map of airport and lounge wifi passwords from around the world. In map view, you can tap any wifi icon where wireless information is available, and use the button to copy the password to the clipboard. The map is available offline so you don’t need an Internet connection to use WiFox when you’re traveling.
*Click Copy to easily paste passwords into wireless network settings.
*Users can also add passwords they find from airports around the world. Those passwords are then sent to foXnoMad for verification and approval before they are added to the map.
*In ‘List View’ you can update passwords for airports already added (when you’ve noticed some changes). As you travel you can also rate the wireless hotspot information to let us know if the details worked for you or not. Based on traveler feedback, the connection information is updated, verified, or removed.
*WiFox icons indicate how fresh, reliable, and highly rated a given airport wireless network’s information is.
*WiFox is updated continuously with information travelers, pilots, and other users send through the WiFox app, foXnoMad website, and foXnoMad Facebook and Twitter accounts. WiFox currently has wireless Internet information for over 700 airports around the world.
*The map is updated automatically upon opening the app (when you have Internet access) or by clicking the ‘Update’ button on the map or refresh icon on the List View.
*WiFox also protects users on free (open) wifi networks by telling you the proper network name, so you don't unintentionally connect to a rogue or malicious access point.
WiFox Premium subscriptions unlock the following features:
* Automatic notifications of the highest rated password, with network connection information, as soon as you land. WiFox Premium detects the airport you're at and displays the most relevant wifi network name and password so you can get online as soon as you step off the plane.
* View password ratings to see which passwords work best throughout an airport so you can connect to the strongest and most reliable connection.
* Be able to add your own password ratings within WiFox. Premium user priority ratings ensure the best wifi passwords are always displayed.
After a 30-day free trial period a $24.99/year purchase will be applied to your iTunes account following confirmation of a Premium upgrade. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled within 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime with your iTunes account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription. WiFox. WiFox has been very useful during travel. Very user friendly! Excited to use it during my upcoming travel and will add any helpful wifi spots.
Crashes on Trying to Open. Same as other reviewers. This app crashes before it opens. I bought it hoping developer fixes it SOON. I travel a lot and could use this.
Great idea!. I'm really liking this app, and love how users can submit updates to different connections. I think it'd be great to eventually add any wifi/hotspots (not just airports) so travelers will be able to find or see free connections near them. A+!
Doesn't Launch Part II. About a previous version of the App, I wrote:<>I have it one star for a good idea only.
Now, on the same hardware and software, the new version launches correctly and is stable. We're not on the road, so I can't add airport network data or do more than search the database for already-entered data from others.
But I think the developer is on the right track here. Four stars.

Excellent app!. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Works well, gets updated often, and it doesn't crash! Great app for constant travelers.
Seasoned Traveller. Best thing when no access to lounges to get an emergency internet call through or look at air/hotel options. Keeps getting updated by "real people" who travel for business or leisure.
UI Not Compatible with Dark Mode. The UI is unreadable when Dark Mode is enabled

Great Idea Lousy Execution. I read about this app in a travel magazine. It works about half the time and crashes the other half. If I were the developer I wouldnt sleep until I got this fixed because it takes so much time and effort to come back from a botched launch.

It did not work. It did not work in a couple of airports I tried in the middle east
Runs fine, but never works. I applaud the idea; but since the listed password never actually seems to work, you may as well use the money to pay for WiFi access.
bad. This app does not work on my iPad 2 with ios 9. Crashes. Unless you have a newer iPad and ios 10 don’t buy this app.

Crashes at startup. Tested this app out on both iPhone 5s/ios9 and iPad mini/ios10. Crashes on both platforms. Seriously after having been featured on lifehacker and mashable u would think this app would actually work but no - its pure junk. I wonder how the reviewers actually tested this nonsense.
No Wifi Spots listed in Costa Rica- please refund my purchase.. Each time I do a search, the app says that it can not connect to your servers. Internet is working via cellphone fine. Please refund my $1.99 Thank you...
Great info. It's great to have the wifi info at your fingertips when you're traipsing around airports instead of wondering whether or not the airport has free wifi. Totally worth it.
Horrible. App is incredibly out of date and no way to update with proper information, wifi map app is much better and yet much is lacking from it. Only main airports foxnomad has been to. Such a waste of money.
Useless. Useless and useless
Great idea, but needs work. Really cool idea, but desperately needs to download the full map for offline access. If I don't have wifi, how would I use this app? Kinda ridiculous.
Dont bother !. Iphone 6s with IOS 10 and it crashes at start up ! Money back please or fix this !
SCAM. This app charged me without me even authorizing it. It’s supposed to be free, but they charge you alright, hoping people won’t notice. AVOID at any cost.

Terrible and outdated, waste of money. I recently tried to use this in the Istanbul Airport and it was completely useless. It had Wi-Fi info for stores/shops that didn’t even exist. I don’t recommend using this app.

Absolute Rubbish. Says it is backward compatible to iOS 9.3+. I am running 9.3.5 on iPad2 and the app doesn't even open.

Old, out of date app with no hotspots I can find. The app was never updated for modern iPhone resolutions so it’s low resolution. It doesn’t have a single wifi hotspot listed in the whole country of Fiji which is a major tourist destination.
