Wow I didn’t know. I have had this app for a while but never checked it out after the updates. So glad. I did. Go check it out for yourselves you will be pleasantly surprised.

Brilliant as usual, but one suggestion.. Like it's predecessors, Soft Drummer is amazing, especially with the recent updates, but I have one suggestion. The jamming function is very, very good - so good that it sometimes plays something that I would like to save as a pattern and incorporate into another piece of music. It would be amazing if you would allow Soft Drummer (and also your other drummer apps that have the jamming function) to be able to recall, as a pattern, the last 4-8 fills in pattern form so that we can closely look at the improvisation (can that word be applied to A.I.?) and possibly save it for future use. Anyway, it's just an idea. Please keep updating and adding to your apps. They are truly superior. Thanks.

Finally. A Sophisticated jazz drummer app (with brushes!) that needs no tweaking. It can play full 16 measure patterns of excellent sampled drums and improvise softly (pianissimo) and with subtleties better than many drummers I know. Having used recorded bass and drums for years to accompany jazz standards, I could not change tempos easily since they were pre-recorded. Soft Drummer allows nuanced jazz drumming in many varied tempos and moods that works well live. Starting with a measure drumstick count-off, then a creative introduction measure, (and eventually a closing measure); jumping to the touchscreen controls and back to playing your instrument is easy. Those control buttons would be easier if BIGGER, at least as big as the drum trigger buttons. I missed the tiny INTRO button when stopping and starting (crucial musical moments). Making the INTRO button as big as the triangular start button would be my only improvement request. The Reverb, EQ, PAN, etc.; are detailed and easily adjusted. I have not tried MIDI integration yet but if it works as it should it can be an excellent alternative MIDI triggered sound module. Just a tip: If you play the same music at 120=BPM or 60=BPM in cut time (so it’s really the same speed) it will change the character a lot especially if you set the “jamming” and/or “swing” to a high setting. Alpha program! I can’t wait to see what an additional soundest, offered for my review, will do! Thank you. Dale Jeffries

So far.... So far so good… I like it better than iReal Pro… But I have many questions and I wish there was a help file!... what does the Vin diagram with the two circles mean mean and why does it change to a line when you press on it? Also when I move the jam intensity slider it doesn’t seem to do anything different.... also I really want to buy I bassist but there are no directions how to integrate it with the drumming programs how do I get them to interact together properly?? Do I use GarageBand or what? How would a trigger both to start the same time? And after writing this review how do I get my free sound file?… But so far so good love playing with all the parameters.

Great. but,. Still love this, but Please automate alphabetizing of custom rhythm names or at least allow position editing in the list! I use this app live and it’s v tuff scrolling through 200 different rhythms to find the one needed. Above could solve this in a second. Amazingly realistic and musical brush sounds. Many layers, still trying to figure out... I don't get a lot of it. But sounds so good. NOW with ability to alternate ride cymbal / hi hat... and also side stick / snare sound! Fantastic. Please allow user rhythms to recall tempo and percent of Swing amount. Also there is no edit mode! Your app defaults to a brand new, unnamed beat even if the most minor edit was attempted. Some congas and cow bells would be great btw. Foot pedal activate would be useful. Thanks Bc now can save the rhythms to the cloud that is clear and easy to use. Thanks!

Really good. I can set up grooves so easily and it’s midi functions work perfect. Plus I’ve never had any problems linking to other apps or programs. Anyone doing anything with drums will benefit from Soft Drummer even if you play an actual kit.

Great grandchildren. I wish I could say I love softdrummer the best of all the lumbers apps, but they are all like my grandchildren. I love them all equally and they are all so beautifully different, from a great family.

It sounds like what it is, a pricey drum machine app. Be aware that the “in-app purchases” on this one are actually two of the three drummers, so it will cost you $28, which I paid because it’s annoying to spend $18 & be locked out of 2/3 of the app. I was hopeful after reading the reviews, but, to be clear - no one is going to ask you who is playing on your recordings like another review mentions - it’s a drum machine app, an overpriced one, and that’s what it sounds like. I wanted to try 3 others, but will pass - not being upfront that the drummers in the description cost more + the “meh” factor leaves me unimpressed.

Most realistic I’ve ever seen. Amazing.. Quickly becoming one of my favorites. All the apps from this dev have been equally impressive. I’m a little surprised to see no 3/4 beats though, or at least a way to manually alter the beat count. Hoping I’m wrong.

Nice. Superb. Hopefully better UI in the future.. This can be really great for anyone practicing saxophone. Really enjoying the variety of the sounds and various patterns. And it says i can get a soundset if i write a review. One thing is that i wish i have a more intuitive n reliable UI. When in song mode, when i delete all parts, the app will crash n shut down. (Ipad pro 9.7) and i'd like to save my own variations from the existing patterns or sounds combinations, but the save button won't be activated most of the time. Hope these will be fixed in the future. Currently it's the best n only Soft drummer on the market i believe. ------ Deleted n reinstalled, and i have to rate it again. One another bug that i wish quickly be fixed is in the song mode. First part plays correctly, and the second part and the rest will not play snares at all. Deleted n Reinstalled but didn't change. Hopefully this will be fixed soon~ All other things are great.

Jazz Guitarist. Soft Drummer and Funk Drummer apps are 5 star in quality and sounds. 4 stars only because not being a drummer I could use some help files or info videos. Easy to use once I got the hang of it. Some of the best stuff out there for creating drum tracks that sound like a live drummer!

Pros use the app.. I have heard this app being used on pro gigs. So the performance quality and ease of use is obviously there. The sounds are good and also unusual. Also a plus. This app swings like a real drummer but no drummers girlfriend is there to complain. I plan to get it going on my own gigs.

Easily the best drummer available for idevices. Period.. The Swiss Army knife of quality drums. I’ve been using all of Luis’s apps together. Using Link... And with a little forethought you can have one heck of a drummer on your hands. With none of the drug problems ;) Have u ever seen another developer with straight across 5 stars on everything? That’s par for Luis. This is the most useful app you will have. If you don’t need it now. You will hit a wall where you need options. When you do. Thank Luis. And be glad this is here. Anyone who who has criticism of an app this good is doing something wrong or can’t dance. This quality of program used to cost hundreds of dollars on a desktop. And we paid. 20 bucks is nothing for the work that went into giving you an amazing tool from someone who knows what they’re doing. Not smooth operations for iphone use. Many of the features and displays shown are not available or adapted to a smaller iphone screen. I’d not recommend this app unless you have an ipad, assuming it actually works as advertised on that platform. Disappointed in my purchase

Ingenius Implementation but lacks full MIDI control. Love the sounds. UPDATE 2020 Still love the sounds but does not work on M1 Macs. No Apple Silicon support. Please fix this! Thank you! —-[older review]—- Love the concept and implementation in all their apps. Love the inter app audio BUT the app doesn’t accept MIDI commands to control the patterns, drum kits, or mixer UNTIL you load a pads layout. What if I don’t want to use pads and I want to control it from Quantiloop? Sorry, no can do. You have to load the program, THEN load a pads layout (which is limited to only 8 pads) and then you can send a program change message to switch between pads. What if I need 128 patches? Sorry no can do. Only 8. I own ALL of the Lumbeat drum apps. They ALL sounds great but they ALL have the same limitations... extremely limited MIDI implementation. I need to be able to switch patterns, drum kits, and control the mixer via MIDI from of apps. This series of great sounding apps does not do that. But the idea of being able to mix and match the parts of a drum kit is cool. I also like the pattern editor’s use of 4 levels/types of drum hits. But it really needs a better MIDI implementation. A better GUI would be nice too. But the MIDI thing is seriously lacking.

My go to. Of all the drum machine apps I own, Soft drummer is definitely my go to. It is by far my favorite and also the most stable. There is no other realistic drumming app out like it.

Great natural sounding playing. Absolutely love the natural feel to the rhythms created by the app. The ghost notes and ways I can tweak the sound give me a pretty robust tool kit. The song mode is really useful if you’re trying to set up a solo playlist and do automation of a set, and the midi setup is really straightforward. My only complaint is that I wish I had labels for the sounds when looking at the sequencer grid. If that’s there I’m just missing it. But I’d love to know — especially when jamming — which line is which instrument.

Very useful app. I've been using this app for several months now & love it. It's easy to figure out. Earlier I tried some far more complex drum machine apps that came highly recommended. I hated them. Soft Drummer has just the right amount of features to get the job done. Great for practicing &, if you use the song mode, works live, too.

A friendly drummer. After experimenting with a lot of drum apps, I keep coming back. The world of “beatmaking” is extensive, and well covered by apps. But the subtleties of drumming, with different nuances of sound on the same drum, and improvised fills and randomness, in other words FEEL, is rare. It’s pretty easy to use, sounds great, and never crashed for me.

Love it! Good. I resisted this at first but finally came around. This is perfect for me as I don’t really wish to spend too much time piecing together clips, fills and endings... although that’s possible in this app. Wish there were instructions.

There is a reason everyone rates 5star. I read all the reviews and watched the videos. i downloaded the Rock lite version. I am an avid user of loops from The Looploft because they are recorded by studio pros and sound great but sometimes you just need a filler for a sketch and this will get you there fast. Sounds awesome. Clock linked perfectly to Auria so I just laid down the drum track which sounds varied enough to sound human in just a minute. This app is an easy 5 star and incredible value. Just buy it you wont be sorry.

Wow! Phenomenal Brushes!!!. This is the BEST app of its kind. I have been recording drums for 20 years and these sound just like the sounds I worked so hard to achieve. So real and intimate. Just Love the sounds and layout. Really, really great job in designing this fantastic app

Still learning. So far I’m really enjoying practicing my bass along with these grooves. There are a lot of variations in terms of precision of the beat, swing, quantization, patterns, sound sets, etc. I’m just learning how to use it, but I’m optimistic that it will be useful in composing and creating backing tracks. Mostly intuitive layout. Great sounds!

I have few issues with mi iPad. I’ve got an iPad 3, or course is completely out of date but I had my presets already made long times ago, then I decided to update the app that actually says is compatible to iOS 8 and beyond. Once I loaded it, it didn’t recognize any sound, so I deleted and loaded again but from scratch and it worked but once I download from the cloud my backups, it doesn’t load any sound out fo it. Well I have to reprogram the whole thing. That’s frustrating... I got to admit I’m running iOS 9.5.6 which way too old but anyway it supposed to fully run even with my backups. I finally manage by downloading the backup in an updated iPhone 7 so it worked and then I save it again on this one, then I downloaded the new backup in iPad, now everything works like charm. Well here I got the info, whoever would like to fix this issue.

All Luis Martinez apps are great.. Works great with iBassist. Always being updated with new features which adds to the value. Suggestion: I’d like if a Pitch setting was added for all the sounds to be saved as kits. This would add a great amount of versatility to what already exists with only a single parameter. The settings would be saved as a kit. This might be best attempted with Future Drummer first perhaps

Horrible after you play initial pattern. I’ve played the first pattern and the count in works fine. The fills are fine. Everything plays fine. Then I stop the pattern and start a new one and the count in is only on the first beat. The fill never changes (it’s a pause then a boom kick drum, always) and it’s not even at the right measure. I’ve deleted and downloaded so many times and always the same. I was so excited about this app that I bought the additional drummers, but it’s a WASTE. My iOS is running the latest version but every time I download this app again, it craps out on me. 👎👎👎

Lively Drums. This is the 4th app I’ve purchased from Lumbeat. These drum apps are the most natural sounding drum machines I’ve heard. As a drummer I’m shocked at how Lumbeat captures all the complexities and nuances of a real drummer. I like the flexibility of selecting different drum kits or to create a custom kit. I’ve experienced some minor issues but nothing to keep me away from these apps!

You DO get what you pay for. This app may be pricier than a lot of other drum apps, but the quality of sounds is well worth it. I would like to see a “Fill Intensity” slider in the future. Right now the fills seem completely random. Add a “Sticks” kit and I probably wouldn’t use any other drum app!

Buy Everything By This Dev!. This is a great drum app, in a line of great drum apps. These apps are my go to when I need quick convincing drum tracks. I often even get questions like “Who played drums on this track?” (Although only Soft Drummer actually gets those questions) If you need quality drum tracks, this app (and its siblings) will get you there with the least amount of fuss, and superb sound quality. I would like to see higher sample rates for the drum samples (as an option, even if it was an IAP). What I really want is for this developer to make an “universal” drum app. One app that covers all the styles, and all the sounds, for one price (even if it is expensive). It would make moving between drum styles mid track much easier. If the developer is reading this, please consider making an app like this. I would pay substantially more for such an app, so long as it was done as well as the existing ones have been. Please consider this!

Fantastically Fun. I'm really enjoying this app and I'm just getting started. It's very intuitive and sounds great. I've been using drum machines since 1984 and though I have been super impressed by drummer tracks in logic and garageband, this app invites more playing and improvising with so many features. The live pads are a blast. Totally worth the purchase even for a few evenings of fun. I can imagine making a lot of music with this. It's awesome.

What’s not to love?. You could spend hours or days trying to program from scratch something that inspires your creativity, and still not come close to these types of grooves. Or you could just start this app and get inspired in about 2 seconds, literally. If I can get this thing to interface with my DAW on the Mac, Heaven! Even if I couldn’t, I’d record the output of the iPad to the DAW anyway, I’ve gotsta have these drums! This is a game changer!

Great app. The sounds in this app are amazing. Have a lot to figure out and would really like to be able to just copy and paste . Have used it with GarageBand a few times so far. Works in inner app well on my iPhone six but on my 5 it has a click at the beginning each time and it doesn't seem to work right sometimes as it starts immediately when I hit record instead of after the count in. Anyway it really is everything I could ask for as a non drummer and look forward to figuring everything out. If he made a bass app that worked the same way and together with this app, wow!!!! The only negative is I don't understand why there is a manual of some sort for this. There are so many nuances and it doesn't seem like a big deal to make one basic manual for all of these apps.

My favorite song demo tool keeps getting better. I can’t say enough Great things about this app! I’m really loving the new features. Especially the expanded exporting options. That’s been on my wishlist for years so thank you! I do hope you make the Jam/Intensity feature a little easier to setting to specific settings. The grid slider is far from finite or accurate, which is a problem in Song Mode. Anyway... I have faith you will fix that little bug too. All in all, your apps rule!

I love the sound & the functionality. I really *love* the sound and functions of all the lumbbeat apps I own (Soft drummer, Latin drummer, Mideast drummer, & ibassist) I highly recommend them all. I need to confess that I find it challenging to work with them as inter-app audio & would really love them to be auv3 plug-ins, if possible.

Finally!. Ever since I first started recording on a little cassette player I have searched for decent virtual drummer. I have tried so many methods that I always end up sounding wooden and robotic. This app allows me to have something that sounds like a human drummer playing for my ideas as I work on them, priceless. Real drummer is still better, but for the creative process this is great.

Great app. Solo musician here, about to use it for a show, wish me luck. Great in practice so far... edit***so Im using this with a boss rc300 loop station. The loop station sends the pc change to start and stop the song, but this app doesn’t have a way to assigning cc#’s so that let’s say cc#1 changes the bars to fill to 4 or 8. Anyway to make rhythm changes etc to be assigned to cc’s

Amazing use of the technology. Mr Martinez is a gifted person who has combined his vast musical talent and skill with his ability in the audio production and software IOS app building work. Simply stunning in it’s realism and usability. Get this app.

Holy Cow!!! Perfect APP!. Tremendous sound! Very intuitive and user-friendly ways (has several modes) to explore and to utilize this wonderful app! The sounds are stellar! I'm a big EZDrummer user.... But that means I have to go back and forth between PC to iPad. But with Soft Drummer, for many projects I'll be able to stay WITHIN my iPad. Cool! Some folks on various forums are requesting audio export.... Plz include this soon!!!! In fact, to be more "Pro" in the options department, it'd be great if you included a 2-track, 4-track and OR a 6-track export function. That is, for those of us that don't always want a STEREO ONLY mix of our drum tracks, we could have 2, 3 or 4 stereo mixes to BOOST kick, compress your great sounding snares and have an OVERHEAD mics stereo track to sweeten just the way we want it. Keep up the GREAT JOB! GF 👍🏼 😊

Next level. Soft Drummer is next level. In terms of realism, subtlety and the ability to mix multiple layers of attributes to a beat, on an iPad? Sick! I haven’t seen anything like it, anything close to it. Although I would like to have easier access to creating sub division on the edit panel (still trying to tease out some 6/8 on this baby), did I forget mention, the program articulates funky as hell. It’s one of those programs not only for songwriters I think it will certainly influence drummers, giving them new ideas on how to deal with the brush. Thank you for a great piece of work.

Soft Drummer vs Beat Buddy. I was looking for a drum app that I could to play live in small intimate settings where sometimes electrical power is not readily available. I was delighted when I found Soft Drummer. I currently use a Beat Buddy and was looking for something similar in an app. This is not it. With that said, this is an excellent app with its own qualities but it is not as intuitive as Beat Buddy. I am not a drummer and need something fairly simple to play along with live. I need to be able to control things using OnSong and Quantiloop. I think this app can do everything I need and more but there is a learning curve and the documentation is scarce. There are a couple of YT tutorials but seem to more focused on recording than live play. I have not found a good tutorial on the MIDI settings. My needs are simple: I need to select a song and set the tempo using CC or PC commands using an Airturn Stomp 6 footswitch. I use OnSong to configure the six switches to trigger MIDI commands like Start/Stop, and send CC and PC commands to Quantiloop and Beat Buddy to select songs, change tracks and set tempos. If I can figure out how to do this with Soft Drummer I will give it 5 Stars because the drum sounds and jamming features are stellar. If I could get some help from you, Louis, by getting some documentation and/or tutorials, that would be very much appreciated.

Version 3.15 Broken on iOS 14.5.1…. Ableton Link broken on this version. Bought SD for it’s Amazing samples an excellent playback engine, but mainly for the ability to link with other devices. It is recognized between apps on same device but not between other devices on same network. Other apps connect instantly on my network so I know there’s no issue there. Have to use a surrogate app as a work around. Basically, I launch a second Ableton Live app on same device (Group the Loop app in my case), leave it empty, SD connects to GTL on device, then GTL connects to other devices on my network achieving sync. Contacted the developer and got back fast saying a fix is coming which I appreciate, but so far it’s just been lip service and I haven’t been fully able to enjoy Soft Drummer. I have to export samples and airdrop and load losing a loop cell in the process. Will change my rating when issue is fixed, but for now 2 stars.

Sounds great; consistant crashes near 200 bars. I love everything about this app except its tendency to crash somewhere between 175 and 200 bars out. The samples are good, fills and variations are "drummerly," and the jam complexity control is brilliant. Time to work on long term stability.

Love the app. This is a great app for practicing. Easy to get going with enough variety in patterns to not think about it while focusing on your instrument. I have funkydrummer, and I enjoy layering the two. The only reason I did not give it a 5 out 5 is because the samples could be a little better. Because you can not process the hats and snares separately sometimes the sounds don’t fit when you try to change up the kits. Get it if you your looking for a practice tool.

Sounds great but..... Crashes every time I hit the save button, very good sounds but can only use it for jamming, otherwise useless to me. Supposedly audiobus compatible but can't find a copy button. Would like to use the obvious potential but seems broken. Update: Sounds great yes, found conflict causing crash, not compatible with Swift Key. Incredible lack of support for this app, about the only source of info is on audiob and nothing that he I can see from the developer. The glaring fault with SF is lack of IAA triggering or just simple pasteboard. The only way I can find to trigger it from group the loop or other apps is to use midi, which I'm not a fan of. I'm a guitar player looking for a decent drum tool, not a beat boxer looking for a toy. While this app sounds great, it works best in its own fishbowl. Disappointed at the lack of audio share support for this app and zero documentation other than a few fanboy videos. Sadly for me, I'll have waste more money in pursuit of a usable drum tool that doesn't require midi triggers from remote apps and them trimming the result to fit due to delays.

Lumbeat does it again!. How can he keep putting out such awesome apps? With Soft Drummer, Lumbeat has once again proven that they are true masters at their craft. With these apps at your fingertips musical ideas quickly become solid beats and patterns. I have sat for hours with these apps before I realize how much time has passed by. There must be some witchcraft at work here because they truly are magical pieces of software. I highly recommend any, no make that ALL, of the Lumbeat apps. Once you fire it up you're in for one enjoyable experience. Stop reading and download them now!

Pro drummer in your pocket (or backpack). I heard a lot about Lumbeat's apps. After having some issues getting my rhythms right, I decided to dive in and get one of them for starters. Only difficulty was deciding which one... lol I'm 100% satisfied starting with Soft Drummer, not only beacause its immediately useful on my tracks, but also on my jams while playing mandolin, semi acoustic guitar or my bass. Recommend it highly, and will soon buy a gift card for Funk Drummer fo'sho!

Amazing sound set and collection of rhythms. Please consider a full midi mapping menu for all you drummer apps, for example the mixer mutes/solos and I am especially interested in cc control of the “pattern slots” of the individual parts, it has always been my favorite aspect of your apps, but I could that could possibly be more difficult to implement than a parameter such as an knob. I don’t get much use out of the effects section , but I definitely would if it were controllable via midi. If there are more cc addresses for such things, please consider publishing them, Your apps are revolutionary for mobile music!

Excellent sounds, where's the manual?. I had to learn most everything by just trying everything. Wish there was a context help that was available but otherwise this is top notch.

Best in class of sound!. I would give it slightly less than 5 stars because of some improvements I'd like to see in the app (customizable crashes in patterns, more advanced song editing features, etc) but I have to give it 5 stars on the unmatched strength of 2 factors: the quality and choice of sounds, and the realism of the jam feature. Another home run! I cannot wait for future updates. No, I'm serious. I cannot wait. I'm using it to record my album now! Thank you, LUMBEAT!

Excellent. I have been a music teacher for over 30 years, I always encourage my students to practice with a rhythm. The Lumbeat apps all have great sounds and such good grooves with a really nice feel to them that it makes practicing fun. Also the ability to manipulate, program and build songs makes the Lumbeat apps great for composition. Would love to see the other apps especially Soft Drummer have the export capability that Jazz Drummer has. Works well with Auria Pro.

For the serious musician !. This is Gold

Unintuitive Layout. The sound may be good, but the interface is the most baffling layout I have ever experienced with a drum machine. It's anti-intuitive and non-productive. I wasn't able to even create a simple beat of my own. The preset rhythms are over-complicated and finding the right one for your song takes hours. Simple beats have unnecessary/odd embellishments that make them impractical for use.

Good but a couple of things need to be fixed. The mixer settings do not get saved with the groove, are non-savable and worst of all reset each time the app is shut down. Sounds great with Quantiloop but tempo changes are not effective until you stop and then restart the rhythm track.

One Of The Best. Unsurpassed drum app for live work!

Great chilled Drum machine. I really like the randomness of this drum machine. I don’t know what to expect as I am Playing along. Great sounds and the brush sounds are useful

Great Sounding Drums. This is by far the most realistic drum app on the App Store and by that I mean it has the most human feel. Despite being a bit unintuitive it’s more so than Drum Perfect Pro, and the update to allow export of audio stems is just brilliant which means I can use it in my fav daw Auria. If you like realistic sounding drums (and brushes in particular) then you should try this!

Grooves. Great sounds but can get a bit complicated

An evolving & tweakable drum app. The primary selling points for Soft Drummer are the sounds, and the styles. The sounds are suited for accompanying acoustic music, roots music, modern indie, blues, ballads, etc. the tones and textures coming from brushes, rods and mallets. These styles are usually under-represented, and there are a variety of preprogrammed patterns with enough nuance and sophistication to sound like professional performances. Hard to get used to but unbelievably great. As a guitar player I’ve searched high and low for an app that would make it easy for me add realistic drum parts to song ideas. Soft Drummer is that app! Although the new drummer in GarageBand is great, the quality of the parts that come out of Soft Drummer are amazing. Even for parts that I program myself it just adds its own random flair that makes it sound like I know what I’m doing! I just wish the other products offered by lumbeat were just modules within a single app rather than completely separate apps but I’ll live with it.

Latest Update Failed / Lost All Content / Bluetooth Issues. Feb 14 - 2021 Still no reply following bug reports. I think Lumbeats needs to focus on fixing existing products instead of working on expanding their product offerings. Soft Drummer is a great idea if only it worked properly. Also, this is the 2nd time their update has introduced new critical problems that did not exist before the update. Big time waster. I hope they get this fixed, it could be a good product and I would promote it if everything worked properly. Feb 2-2021 After fiddling some more I am finding that the midi Program Change for various functions has not been implemented properly. Functions are missing, other functions are ganged together. Come on guys, please do not release an update that isn't fully ready!!!!!!!! Progress Update Feb 1-2021 Latest update wiped out my Program Change settings for Play/Stop, Fill, toggle Hat/ride, Fill and stop. Numb-Beats just randomly decided to change how these Live Pads functions are controlled. It was working great, sort of, before. Now I am unable to program these at all with their new control scheme. Doesn't work, period. So frustrating. Thanks a lot for the no warning and why did you decide to make something that worked, not work now???????? Progress Update: Oct 5, 2020 I had to recreate all my patterns from scratch. There are still many glitches with this app. Buttons disappear, tap tempo stops responding, Bluetooth Program Change commands become unresponsive, etc, etc. All I can say is; if you need something reliable, this is NOT YET the app for you. Documentation for this app is very sketchy, inaccurate or non-existent. See initial posts below for a history of serious issues with this app. Initial post: Loaded the July 22/2020 update and suddenly all the patterns are gone. Both preset and user patterns are missing, no sound output. I see User song names but all patterns are missing. Lost all my personally programmed content. Very disappointed. Tried contacting the app developer, no response. Absolutely NO SUPPORT until I wrote an unfavourable review. Great drummer when it worked. But buyer beware!!!!!!!!! 1st follow-up: StillI having trouble loading previously programmed patterns from cloud backup. Songs and patterns programmed in working previous version will not load and play in new Soft Drummer version. Tried everything. Developer has responded but no fix yet. 2nd follow-up: Free Mallets kit offered but it won't load even though I wrote a review and rated the app. After 3 tries Mallets loaded.

My go to drums app. When I just want to jam out this is my go to. Just wish it was AUV3, otherwise it would be a 5.

High quality sounds. One of the most realistic acoustic drum machines I have heard. It offers lots of ways to tweek the sound, and the song feature is great. I have one small issue with fills sometimes sounding a bit awkward or robot-ish at higher bpm's, but certainly not a deal breaker. A bit pricey, but worth it if you're looking for a drum machine with finesse.

Takes away all the guesswork. Programming drums isn’t my strength and I don’t have the time for the learning curve. This is like having a professional drummer at your finger tips.

Nice but. This app no longer loads into AUM since iOS 15, nor does there seem to be any intent to make it Auv3 compatible. Otherwise, it’s an amazing app.

Buy them all .... Don’t waste you’re money or time on any of the other “Real” drum apps .. trust me I have them all and they just have no feel ... if you need the groove and happy accidents you won’t find it in other apps ... sound yes they all have decent sounds at the higher price points .. but they are not “drummers” this as close as you can get.

Best drum apps. There all good! This one is my second fav after future drummer but there all dope!

Constant crashes when using AUM. Nice sounds but not reliable. Crashes constantly on iPad Pro when using AUM (with only 3 instruments added), and even by itself when Using the ‘random’ beat button. Have had the same problem with all apps from this developer, the worst being ibassist. The apps fail to reload in aum sessions and need to be killed/deleted before they work again.

Great Drum Apps. Martinez created a wonderful set of drum apps. Easy to use, incredibly flexible, great sounds. A bunch of 5 star apps for musicians.

Took our money and broke promises. The developer responded to another complaint 2 years ago and said he was fixing the failure to load as AU. I bought the group of his apps to all work together (including iBassist) but so far he has not fixed AU since the two years he said he would. This issue makes the app so unpleasant to use in your DAW or AUM. Where is the long awaited fix you promised us??

Amazing Drum App!. Anyone who is frustrated with GarageBand not having any brush preset rhythms for jazz, funk, blues etc, this is your answer. Unbelievable drum sounds and patterns, high quality sounding with great effects. I only wish you could save any combination as a custom preset, for easy recall in live performing. I also wish you could export the loop pattern as a WAV or .aif but it doesn’t seem to have that capability yet. There doesn’t seem to be any help documentation so you have to figure out the controls on your own. Works great with iRig Blueboard or other midi controllers.

Have hard time reading the interface. I really like this app. Like magic with iBassist! My only gripe so far is that I have A REALLY hard time reading the white on light gray text.

Love It. It’s perfect if your looking for a drum tracks to jam to. Drums are not stuck in the same boring loop. Automatically randomizes or you can learn to program it yourself.

Soft and Silky. Butter type tops with just enough bass drum to cut through a mix. When I speak easy, soft drummer compliments the art.

Good sounds. This app has nice sounds that are good for practicing jazz, bossa, ballads, or soft drums in general. It’s nice to have the option to mix, add effects, etc. One star less because there’s not a manual, a pdf or website with instructions, which would be useful.

Really good at what it does. Really great quality, sounds and programming super realistic and human, but the preset genres feel very limited and bland. It took me a long time to realize you can create your own patterns.

AUv3. I love the apps from the developer but I need them to be AUV3 now so they can play easier without having to export. Until then, workaround.

Great app. Finally an app that explores the nuances of brushes and jazz music. Wish it would just save settings and not default to out of box settings every time it is launched.

So versatile..... Finally something I can complain about! White text on a white background....? Of course, the actual sounds and features are amazing like the rest of the series. The above complaint is barely a quibble and doesn’t get in the way of the excellence of this app..... This one is especially versatile for use in a number of genres. And it covers an area that is often difficult to get good stuff for (and does it very well).

It’s a happening app. Great sound. That’s the key. The improvements will come but it’s well thought out and will only get better. It sounds like real drums, and that’s the biggest issue for me. Mahalo!
