Overall I give 3 stars !. I love this daw! Has so many great features but I wish it had a better piano roll. Features like a brush tool where you can paint in hihats or a simple 2 step fill feature for the drum track would help workflow a ton! Crashes sometimes but for the price it’s great… hopefully you guys add some plugins like a sampler and not just sound kits

Easy to use, but does not work with AltiSpace. I like how quickly I can get tracks down with the software, and really like the operational flow. And since the recent update fixed the prior issue with AltiSpace, this is now my go-to program. I also own Auria and GarageBand, but using this, once you get the hang of it, is cassette deck simple and fast, and has most if not all of the horsepower of Auria, but hidden under the hood, just where I want it. From the the time the notion hits to record a song, to the time it is being recorded is measured in seconds, including plugging in a mic, with great audio quality and plenty of built in effects. Great job!

Update. I wrote a review over a year ago but THIS app has become my go-to iOS DAW. It’s so slick and well laid out that it beats a lot of the other options by a mile. And it’s not a toy like some other apps. He updates this constantly. All the changes are useful. Kudos.

Getting better and better-An Awesome DAW. .....pleSe look at other competitors such as na no to better integrate au and auv3 inside their ow wondowws but besides that my second most used,especially because it uses sf2 and my own midi samples as a workable format for midi and sound

Solid Time Line DAW. The app works well and has all of the features you needed in such a DAW. The developer is responsive to user feedback and constantly seems to refine the app. The piano roll and automation work well including the parameters for AUv3 apps. Integrated Files app functionality. You can output stems and import SF2 soundfonts. One of the best values for apps in this category.

I have all of the iOS DAWs and this one is #1. Like the title says, I have all the iOS DAWs including Auria Pro, Cubasis 2, GarageBand, Nano Studio 2......etc, etc. I have used Auria Pro and Cubasis 2 as my main workhorses. Auria Pro for its bussing, Cubasis 2 because of its much better work flow. By sheer accident or by divine fate I stumbled upon this DAW and at first I almost passed it by. With the puny $9 price point what could it possibly offer that I already had? Well, for whatever reason I decided to download it. My two biggest gripes about Cubasis are the lack of busses and lack of markers, which is something I use quite a bit of. Auria Pro has the busses but I just cannot get into the workflow of that software. Audio Evolution has it all and more! The workflow is seamless AND it covers busses and markers. I think the developers have lost their mind on the price point! If you are looking for an iOS DAW or are just tired of all the work arounds required by the others then I seriously suggest giving Audio Evolution a try. THIS is what I’ve been looking for all along! I’ve been an iOS musician since 2014 and a recording musician for over 35 years, so I’ve had some experience with these things. I finally feel like my search for an iOS DAW is over.

Amazing. Used it for years. Impressed many who use much more expensive programs on computer or other apps

Great, but.... I think this is a great app, but what’s holding it back from getting a five stars is that whenever I import certain midi files, everything is then loaded into one single track. All of the notes from the multiple different tracks, for some reason, are put into one single track. Even though whenever I import those same midi files into other apps, they work fine, everything is loaded into multiple different tracks. I don’t why this happens but I hope this gets fixed soon.

Freezing. Keeps freezing everytime I press undo

Get the AI. They have this AI it’s like 5 minutes long I think it would be neat I’ll buy it. Perfect app been using it for a thousand years winkwink

Couldn’t add my own instrumental. I couldn’t add my own instrumental from my files which I don’t like I feel as if I was played out of my money. If you know how to import your own instrumentals without paying additional money please help me.

Surprise. Not bad DAW. But with surprise. In the description of the application there is no information that I buy trial version with three tracks remaining (hilarious for DAW) About one month I purchased this product, I was happy and started with my project. After some time, three tracks remained from my project and there demand appeared to pay an additional $8 to get unlimited tracks. Its not a money and I paid. But my work got lost. Plus some issue with note length editing in piano roll. So not 5, but about 3.5 , almost 4

Wats good in it ?. 8 99 and dose you verry much, other 50 dollar programs are not that much better this app is light and fest. i also find the marker option something what i dont see elsewhere, i dont know why people are complaining it dose the jub gr8. now the only thing i need is the option of exporting midi 0 not just midi 1 what evry app is probably using, so i can use it to make all my korg programs on it because of the marker option. also if the tracks in editing mode can be a little nicer so i can see every track before editing. but besides that its 1of the best thanks

Wow a wonderful surprise!!!. It’s like Auria pro meets Cubasis meets MTS meets NanoStudio 2 mixed them all together in a bowl and this is what you get. You can’t beat the price which is a game changer for me. Sure it may not have all the features but not far from it. So far no issues and seems very stable. There is no reason to not try this one. AEM please keep up the good work. I’ll be using this one a lot. I think this is the Daw to buy I have all the iOS Daws and this one is my go to. This one just makes sense and can wrap my head around very easily.

Cool. Needs more microphone options and I want to connect my audio interface to it to use my microphone of choice

Awesome Daw. I never leave reviews. I’ve used many Daws both on desktop and mobile. This is by far one of the best. It does require some of the paid plugins to really tweak but it does a fantastic job. Certainly going to become a tool I use a lot. Please keep developing for this Daw. Thanks

Benefit of the doubt. This app has so much potential. I really do hope that they continue to update and improve it. I even tried to buy the full version but I guess there’s some kind of bug and it’s interfering with my ability to do so

Great app.....but. Love this app. I’ve been a professional mix engineer for nearly 30 years and have an incredible studio. This app is amazing for on the go stuff between studios and sessions. One thing.... is sidechain coming to the iOS version? Great work so far.

This is The iOS DAW to buy. After spending a downright embarrassing amount of money on other iOS DAWs that never seem to get it quite right, I am so pleased that I have found Audio Evolution mobile. This app is a real gem and if you’re looking for a DAW I highly recommend that you start with this one. Then you can spend the rest of your time making music instead of falling into the endless cycle of searching for a workable DAW, spending money and getting frustrated. And guess what, this developer actually answers questions too! Promptly even!

Please fix. It’s not working I use this app for 7 years and was doing very good with it now I can hear my voice I done try everything l want it’s still don’t want to record my voice need fixing ASAP

Updated review. This is a great unfortunate and tragic and regrettable experience that in 2025 AEM does not have the function of “Searching “ in the instrument selection section and the AU selection right underneath the Grid section. Just, just, anyway, leave it. P.s. Even cubasis have incorporated this functionality, come on, cubasis has this!

Top tier daw for 10 bucks.. This DAW will hold it's own, and thensome, with rhe "other" more expensive ones. The manual has to be one of the top 10 best I have ever read (and I'm a 58 yr old IT guy). Absolutely fantastic job dev team.

Convenient, well-built App. I recorded and arranged an entire 13 song project using this app. Though I've began using a desktop since then, I still upload all vocals into the app to do initial EQ before mixing and mastering.

DAW. This is for the serious producer. No gimmicks or bs. The integration, editing, sends, automation, workflow, tech support.. I use Audiobus 3 with a midi controller and like to further edit my recordings. The functionality of this DAW right here got me sold. The modest price tag can be deceiving lol. The in-app purchases are dope 😏. Did my research and this does look like some audio evolution opening up ACCESS across multiple platforms. Right on 🙂👍🤙🙏

Capable but outdated daw. Jumped into this daw because of the features that have quickly been added like Vocal Tune Studio, full track pad support and iOS clipboard support. However, it didn’t take long to realize how outdated the user interface is. This daw feels like it was designed for a phone but wasn’t imagined to take advantage of an iPads bigger screen. We should have a proper mixer icon and have a mixer/playlist view and not have to flip through pages to get to the mixer then next again to get to groups and master track then next again to get back to the playlist view. It’s very unintuitive. There’s no way of having multiple effects on screen like AUM and are forced to have effects full screen. This daw lacks 32 bit float rendering and multi core rendering.

This app is probably the best multitrack recording app EVER if you have a tablet or phone!. I might suggest adding the ability to press and hold onto the volume and typing the number of decibels you want in order to balance the music out.

Bugs. Had a layout bug where the image of the app looks grainy. Improvements to be made in that area

Somewhat stable. Crashes randomly when using audio units. It is good for audio tracks and automation. Midi and software instruments are mostly unusable for me because of frequent stuck notes.

Recorded 48 tracks from my Midas M32r!. Great DAW apP PLEASE UPDATE THE APP TO BE ABLE TO RECORD TO EXTERNAL STORAGE!!!!! With IOS 17. Great for backup recordings to my iPad or iPhone off my M32r so its worth the price just for that, and able to get files off to my Mac Pro easily unlike N-track where you have to jump through hoops to get them off. That being said N track has easily selectable channel outputs when connected to my board, with AE you have to setup mix buses to output each track to separate channels. N track creates them for you when you select an output. N track also can handle a lot more AU synths. I really like AE so hoping they keep improving on it and for the price it can’t be beat.

Deluxe features Obsolete file handing. There are levels of control this app offers that are deluxe and not found in competitors and I wish I could love it more than Cubasis3 , even though overall feels a bit stiff workflow wise. There is no simple browser mode to gain access to all save or share locations now so abundant since Apple granted easy usb options for iPhones and iPads running ‘modern’ iOS versions. I should choose where I want a saved file to end up, on my device, external drive, or micro sdxc… without going online/cloud then download back to device if your cloud server allows it…other than to photos app only option. Adds way too many limitations…a “Cold War” artefact from the time Apple made it impossible to use mobile devices for creative work by limiting access to that work from anywhere but the app it was originally recorded in. Also, high on resources use, admittedly I was using Audio Evolution on an old iPhone 8+ but I got a lot more tracks working with competitors who offer a more contemporary although (appropriately) also more expensive app.

Decent. Dropping in samples and recording works well. Have not been able to use au plugins successfully. Wanted to buy the audio interface but not sure anymore

It's a Keeper. As a new digital music maker I've been challenged to understand the technical aspects enough to even evaluate apps. AEM has been on my iPad all along, and I keep coming back to it. The developer has been incredibly responsive and helpful while I struggled to connect a synth app to Audio Evolution. I'm psyched to continue this journey and highly recommend this app.

This is my Acid Pro for iPhone!. This is absolutely in a class by itself! You’ve made life easier because I no longer need to drag out my laptop. I’ve tried the others and all Daws have something to offer but for editing I find nothing more precise. I am impressed with it’s ease of operation. Once you do learn the program editing becomes breeze. AE is now my Acid Pro for my iPhone, I have it installed on both my iPhone and iPad but I mainly use my iPhone! A Truly Excellent App!

Intuitive and transparent. I am mostly using this daw to mix sound files to make ambient fixed media pieces. I have used most other ios daws and find this app to be quick, transparent, fast and doesn’t get in the way. If a bit quirky at first, I adapted to it quickly and it is now my primary ios daw. There is something organic about using my fingers to manipulate the file instead of a mouse but then transfer to the desktop for a more robust computer environment or quickly store files in AudioShare. I am not playing midi instruments and recording voices ( maybe a bit) as many others; so, maybe I can’t entirely speak to this. But this seems like it would be quick and great for this and the tone boosters mastering purchases addons are reasonable and excellent. The purchase price of the app is much cheaper than others and I prefer it regardless of price.

Great for what it is!. Seeing a lot of negative reviews for this nitpicking at what it doesn't include at the base price of FREE. I just wanted something that I could route all of my audiobus 3 channels into that would actually treat them as multi tracks. I already have some great apps on my laptop so I didn't want to drop another $20-$40 just for a multi track app on iPad. This met my basic requirements and gave me a ton more. The only feature requests at this point would be a way to view the whole mixer as a separate window from the tracks as well as view track labels when recording.

Doesn’t live up to it’s potential.. I’m upset with what’s happening here. this app, it’s not a full Daw, though it has the potential to be and be better than most. I gave you my money and I expect what you say it does to be on the money for my money. I know a thing or two about midi applications and for the price, the outside looks good, but the engine needs work. I have a list of things that could make it a better product, but what you have could be cost efficient, If made to run smoother. I could scream I want my money back or I can say, but fix it and make it worth every cent. right now there is a growing mobile music community and I am part of it. this is not a hobby for me. don’t ad on what the others have. Fix what’s already there!

Cubasis 3 making me crazy..then found this hidden gem. Cubasis crazy dsp spiking..got me looking elsewhere. I’m a professional musician and have used many DAW’s , So this app is really nice to find on ios , as I can intuitively find all the features I’m accustomed too on the desktop workstations. *I really hope the developer continues to improve on it. Some suggestions : would be to include a search for Auv3 plugins Some work on the midi editing function .. *A feature like , a live looping function, to set tempo organically and overdub..or a seemless integration with loopy pro . Features like that will get people interested..and bring this awesome ios daw into the light 💎🎧🎼

Audio evaluation is fire. I’ve used this app and it works just as good as pro tools to me. I had to give it 5 starts, and I’ve been doing music for over 20yrs.

Don’t buy anything else. Ive used Cubasis 2 & 3, Auria Pro, n-Track.. this is closest to the daw’s i have on my studio computer. Cubase & Studio One. I’m a professional songwriter & producer in Nashville. I’m amazed the capabilities of this app from recording to editing to automation. vocal tune studio makes this DAW a real world hitmaker. most other IOS DAWs focus on the beats, but real world hits still come from truly great vocals and AEM’s mel -oh ! - dyne like vocal corrector gives you them. A full feature DAW , well supported by developer and at a very reasonable price…

Phenomenal Developer!. When I recently picked up this app, I had an issue using my midi keyboard. I emailed the developer (Davy), and he answered almost right away. We weren’t able to find an answer after trying 2 or 3 things. Davy actually went to the length of purchasing the same midi keyboard I have so he could get to the bottom of the problem, which he did. Absolutely unbelievable customer service! As for the app itself, one need only look at the constant updates and upgrades. Great, professional IOS DAW at a great price. Nice alternative to some of the others.

So much better and cheaper on android.... You have to buy another app to use with this one in order to add your own tracks to record on. You have to pay again to record more than 3 tracks after you have already paid to use the app in the first place, not to mention the plug ins, which are gonna cost you either way. While the cost is still low compared to having to rent a booth and pay an engineer, I am still annoyed that apple makes it so hard for apps to be competitive with android. I got an iPad as a gift and I thought I would try this out after how much I liked it in my LG Stylo 4. I wish I knew then what I know now.

Question. I ❤️ this app. But i can’t seem to find a video /tutorial for IOS about importing beats from YouTube and other websites.

Mic input. I have been using audio evolution since the early 2000s for android and it is great.today was my first time using it for the iPhone. While searching for bt output I decided to cancel the search but there was no return arrow to take me back to the main project, that caused me to have to restart the whole program over by force closing it. Further more; in the audio evolution on android there is an option to choose your mic input but there are no mic input options available on the iPhone audio evolution. It is still a great program although for these reasons previously mentioned I gave this version of the app three stars. Please fix the issues mentioned and I will be overjoyed to update a flawless review. (Aaron R. Belk)

Audio Evolution Studio rocks!. I have just recently begun using AES but to me, this is the easiest, most logically laid-out IOS DAW that I have tried, and the price is great. The app creator has also made available a series of YouTube instructional videos to make it even faster to get started. Good job on this new version! Highly recommended.

Excellent!. I had this DAW for Android years ago but forgot about it. I have been an iOS musician for sometime and needed something with a better workflow than the one Apple provides. Boom! AEM smokes the competition. And yes I have shelled out the cash for Adria and Cubasis. Multitrack DAW came close but AEM wins by a long shot. It’s a lot better than the version I used to use, too. I’m happy it’s here on iOS and I forgot how great Sf2 can be when done properly.

Very nice but missing a feature!. I love this app. I have it on my ipad and android, I opened it from audio recorder option in GarageBand, but there’s no button in AE that should take you back to GarageBand for audio recording! It would be perfect if you can add that function to audio evolution!

Stellar app that needs an inspiring spokesperson!. This is a stellar app that can easily compete with any other daw yet many people don’t know it because there is no real community behind it offering tutorials to help creators know that this program even exists. When you go on youtube there is a plethora of informative and engaging tutorials showing people how to make magic with their music with garageband, cubasis, etc. Not so for Audio evolution. So the daw hits the bullesye yet the educational support misses the mark leaving the community behind. If Audio Evoulution hired someone like Pete Johns or Dan Baker to create insightful and inspirational how to videos, I do believe sales of this app would skyrocket!🚀🚀🚀

Great!!!!!!!!. Honestly ive been using it live at church, although I cant buy expensive stuff, I can combine this with my Auv3 apps and bunch more, it is versatile, great app overall. But my complain is my sustain pedals. Okay so when I connect my midi right to my ipad, I have another extension, so I connect it to my ( KORG nanoKONTROL2 ) so i can switch my midi option to the Korg nanokontrol, Here is the problem Keep in mind my ( audio evolution is connected to the nanoKontrol 2 ) but in the side of that my sustain pedal keeps messing with the ( Mute buttons ) which is kind of annoying in some extent. I hope you can fix this. OVERALL GREAT APP!!!!

Needs a global swing/groove track. This is about the most complete DAW on iOS and is even quite usable on my little IPhone SE. But it has destructive editing for swing settings and only on a per track basis, it would be really great to be able to load groove templates, a custom groove editor would be super great, and since I'm asking a chord track would be outstanding. I'm giving it 5 stars even though it is missing this because it has markers and tempo changes and again, I can use it on my iPad and iPhone, and I own the Android version as well.

Promising DAW..Some missing stuff..some Genius as well. Been using iPad DAWs for field vocal recordings, mixing for about 5 years..(mostly harmonicdawgs Multitrack DAW or GarageBand) Only skimmed through the online manual to get spun up on particulars; and played with it for about 2 hours..(for full disclosure) The Good: good interface, semi-easy learning to pick up, easiest bus send “concept” ever, cutting and editing tracks is simple, noise reduction, basic mixing controls are good (Not sure why the free EQ functions like the iTunes EQ, or why adding parametric EQ is one band-at-a-time, on a 3 FX max allowed track.. with move the knobs Side-side style.. The GREAT: Automation! Automation, Automation! Being built-in is sick! Toneboosters effects are dope, Integration with external apps is great (although a must have these days) Visually, it’s got the simplicity people want..no need to be flashy cool unless your a plugin..lol The Bad: only three effect slots per track? Especially in a bus send? Standard vocal bus will have 4-5 FX minimum.. Sure, most ipad-artists already have plenty of IAA plugs to use, and we like to stick with the current DAW we know “mostly” word after an update..but even still today they are hit & miss with every production app, especially when using built in FX as well..what’s the effect chain? Not sure how it’s chained up. Which comes first the chicken or egg? I somehow stopped getting sound from my vocal bus..nothing muted, track X was sending to track Y which was sending to master Z..couldn’t figure it out. Extras: I get the paying for plugins separately or making a “pack” 1 or 2 etc.. but when you go for the get PRO version button, that usually means “professional HQ, all-in, bells n whistles included - version” should be a culminated total discount that is a one stop shop, which out-competes a culmination of the current Pro, 1FX pack and 1 added plug in - I’d say about $14.99 for “the all-inclusive band” on the cruise ship That being said, Offering a free product with $options is always a tough math equation to figure out, so I get. The best concept!: To me, having an al-a-cart menu of advanced (as good as another brands app) internal plugins within the DAW mobile iOS app is awesome! Adding a brand name plugin option that’s straight ingenious to the app is GENIUS! From the consumer this means each app update will entail functionality of its internal options..not shooting the crap dice on others IAA reliability, which has rarely gotten past the “cross your fingers-hope it still supports A,B, C apps after updates” line. Sometimes it only takes one or two “favorite’ IAA apps to stop working and they go back to using another recorder for the time being. Overall a great addition to the Multitrack iOS realm. Due to having 3 other Daws on my iOS, I will continue to use those for now, but will definitely keep the app & upgrades I purchased & revisit the app at each update to check how it has improved. I will say, introducing add-ins that are from a legit company that makes actual PC/MAC DAW plug-ins is awesome. It drew me to their site, and I now intend on buying one of their PC plug-ins shortly.

Transport. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because of the transport there is no rewind or fast forward option. Please add this and my rating change immediately. This DAWis very affordable and the plug-ins are too. I love it I’ve been using it since I owned an android tablet

Best mobile DAW out there!. Not sure why this DAW doesn’t have better reviews…..I’ve been using it since before there was an iOS version (Android only) and its development has been phenomenal…. From not having usb interface capabilities to developing a driver that would actually work with Android and certain USB interfaces for actual mobile phone high end recordings was a major audio achievement. If you are looking for compatibility and true multitrack recording on your phone or tablet, I have a 9” Galaxy Tab that works great. But my iPhone 16+ is absolutely plug and play with my Motu M4 and all inputs. 10 stars as far as I’m concerned from the progress I’ve watch over the years from this mobile DAW and it’s one man developer!

the best. let's be real, i won't make any masters on my ipad, so any app on here is for demos or ideas. i wanted a full daw that allows me to work with audio and midi without a soundcloud-generation loop-based interface (music should not be cut and pasted, but performed, even digitally) AND didn't collect my personal data, which is a requirement for me.Garageband was way too complicated as it wanted to "it just works" everything but ironically that design philosophy took control away from me and made simple punch in recording too difficult. this is perfect. collects no personal data, and super intuitive. i love it. worth more than the asking price.

Great feature filled DAW, great Dev response, great price, just GREAT. I was doing research for days trying to decide if I wanted to get Cubasis or Auria as a step up from GarageBand then an AB forum user suggested this app and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to follow his advice. As far as I can tell it has most of the features of either of those more well known DAW’s, at a much more affordable price, and the developer is super responsive and helpful, continuing to include new features as he gets the iOS version up to par with the Android. I emailed him about an issue and he replied within minutes, solved the issue within 24 hours, and then emailed me back again when he had it fixed and updated. Very much appreciated, very happy purchase, very happy user. If considering this app, stop hesitating and try for yourself as the price allows for that kind of “risk.”
