Looove my Birdsong ID app!!. As a Nonna to an adorable 15th old, not only does this app help when I go on my bushwalks, but also allows me to share this amazement with my Grandson. I love pointing out all the beautiful birds we hear on our walks. I feel so privileged to help him understand the variety and beauty of our flying neighbours 👍🥰

Useless. I wanted the app to identify bird calls but first it doesn’t want to use the microphone and you have to leave the function and go back for it to record. Then the identification is very bad, a European app my sister used was better in identifying Australian birds then this app is. A waste of my $7

Disappointed. The app only includes common birds species that we would be able to identify. There are also significant errors on the bird classification putting magpie lark in the flycatcher category for instance. I regretted purchasing it few minutes after I tried it. The app did not recognise rainbow lorikeets’ call and confused it with skylark! I would NOT recommend this app unless there is a significant improvement on the calls number (honeyeaters call would be a must) and auto recognition result.

Bird calls helpful. Interesting app but please keep adding more birds in the updates as there is a rather limited number of birds. Helpful to hear the examples of bird calls and the evaluation of bird calls you record is handy.

No good. I bought this a week ago, it has access to my microphone but each time I tray to record I get a “cannot record on this device” Very disappointed and waste of money

Good start. Useful and a good start - adding new birds will continue to improve its value.

Not worth the money.. Needs a 30 second recording which is nearly impossible. Then it gives a list of 10 possibilities so you now have to find the bird to identify it. Even then, does not work. Had an absolutely clear recording of an Asian Koel but it wasn’t even on the possibilities list! Got a lovely recording of a Kookaburra which surely has one of the most unmistakable calls in Australia, but it was only third on the list. I bought the App to try and identify hidden birds by their calls but it is useless for this

Great app. This is the best app I've seen so far. Very handy with the calls and the songs. Love the info with it as well.

Useful for beginners only. This app only includes about 100 of the most common birds encountered in urban areas. It is suitable to those that call everything with feathers, ‘bird’. For those that are already familiar with the common species and hope to use this app to ID birds, the app will not serve that purpose. It lacks the majority of species. I now use this app for recording bird songs and calls only. The automatic recognition fails in most cases, but the recording comment and gps coords feature is very handy for making an ID at a later date.

Waste of Money. I was expecting a sort of Shazam for bird songs. This promised that with Auto Recognition but delivered nothing of the kind. The same info as with other better apps. Waste of money.

Misinformed. Auto identification is limited to selecting from only 25 birds when you upload a recording of a bird song. They don’t disclose this until after you spend your $5. Not happy at all when it couldn’t identify the noisy bird that wakes me up every morning!!

Lovely little app. We have so many beautiful birds in our garden, now I can identify them all!

One feature I would Love. This is a great app. I just wish it had a “Favourites” option. It would definitely be a five star for me if that was the case.

Commonly confused words. When you say you will loose your data I’m sure you mean you will lose your data.

Relaxing while camping. I enjoy this app whilst camping, out with nature an see what you can find 👍😁

A Shazam for bird song. Exactly what I was looking for! Still perfecting my recordings and as others have said it will be even better when expanded but a great place to start.

Grandmasuey. Disappointed- expected a greater variety of popular birds. The ones on here are fairly commonly known. A good start and hopefully they will keep adding continually, otherwise feel a bit ripped off!

Absolute Rubbish. Take no notice of my location regarding birdsong, spinning wheel if Tgink every time I want to record.. riddled with spelling mistakes. I want my money back. Don't buy this App.

A really useful app. I have just developed an interest in learning about the many birds that inhabit the bush near our home. I am now on the way to recognizing their calls and songs. It helps you appreciate and enjoy them more

Improving the art of bird recognition. This app gets better the more I understand it’s procedures. Because of it I am becoming more attuned to sighting and recognising the local bird calls that share the landscape where I live. A wonderful tool.

Good start. What is done is excellent. There is more to do but I look forward to seeing the extended repertoire as it goes. I played the female koel song and started a riot from our current tenant.

Useful app. Good for identifying the bird but would like a bit more detail on the bird or a link. Also sorting by region would be helpful.

If for no other reason bring birds songs into your living room. Does need to expand to less common species, but a great start.

Waste of money.. It can’t recognise a clear recording of a magpie! Total waste of money. Develop the app before charging people money for something that does not do as it says… identify bird calls/songs.

Accurate and informative. Despite my living remotely the app is accurate, and easy to use.

Not working at all. I have very clear bird sounds here, but it just says it can’t record them - even though it has access to the microphone - and that’s that, apparently. Very disappointed and want my $ back!

Great app. This is a wonderful idea. Shazam for birds! It’s unclear whether users can contribute to the data base. If not that would be a great idea.

Needs more bird calls. This app needs more bird calls added. Also needs ability to delete your recordings (tested one and unable to delete) Has great potential and like the way it is organised. Easy to use. Went through all the calls and could not match the bird call I had recorded.

will be good when it has more smaller birds. This app looks like it's got potential, but I was a bit dissapointed that the birds all relevant to my region are ones I can already fairly easily ID from using my Morcambe app - ie distinctive enough calls or bigger birds. The ones I was hoping to find here were the tiny ones it's a nightmare to ID from calls - ie thornbills, gerygones, etc. I'm a field recording person and I'm really into learning to ID from calls rather than visually. I couldn't find a smart-search function where you can limit to birds in your region - that would make sense surely? Oh well, it's a beginning. Also, some of the ways birds are categorised seem a little strange - 'Rollers'? 'Flowerpeckers'? Thornbills are under 'warblers'? (2)...and a lot of birds have their own category...anyway. Haven't really been able to use the record function yet successfully.

Wait. When I opened the app- after I paid for it- it states that it is new and can only id about 25 birds. I would never have paid for that and the developers should wait to charge until they have a product to sell.
