Logitech POP App Description & Overview

What is logitech pop app? Now, smart home control is within everyone’s reach.

Use Logitech POP to set the scene with lighting presets, Sonos favorites, and more. Use a single, double, or long press to control smart home devices—individually or in groups—or turn Harmony Activities on or off.

Quickly and easily set up Logitech POP Home Switches from your iphone. To get started, the POP app scans your home Wi-Fi network to find compatible devices you can control, such as smart lights, Sonos music players, or smart locks. Once devices have been added to a switch, you can assign individual commands to single, double, or long-presses.

For more advanced and creative uses, you can combine multiple devices using Recipes. With drag-and-drop simplicity, Recipes let you control multiple devices with a single command.

All your POP Home Switches are easily accessible in the Dashboard. And, you can easily identify different switches by their color directly in the app.

Logitech POP Home Switch Starter Pack is required.

Great product. I love the whole entire concept of the switch controlling different smart devices with a simple different types of press of the buttons. But there’s one thing that I can not be able to do and that is log into the application

Work in progress - still no Sonos grouping.. This update says they added Sonos grouping, but it is either not there yet, or very hard to find. Also, they haven't added Hue groups and scenes yet, as most other home automations apps have done in recent months with new Hue firmware. Great product idea, but I don't have a feeling Logitech is putting much effort into this product. Not very reliable yet.

App no longer supported. This app is no longer compatible with new version of iOS and Logitech doesn’t support it with updates for over a year. Don’t buy hardware from Logitech, you will have hundreds of dollars of paperweights after they take your money and run.

Initial setup is painful. App only supports iOS 9 and up, and is not supported for iPad. Major hassle forcing me to update my iPhone. Device should have an auto configuration or a desktop version.

App crashes with IOS 12. After upgrading to iOS 12, the app just crashes upon opening. (I have even deleted and reinstalled. And tried on iPhone 7 Plus as well as XS with the same outcomes.) This means that whatever configuration you have your buttons set to, they’ll continue to work but cannot be changed after upgrading to iOS 12.

Limited functionality. Works well... but why can’t you control Lutron Caseta scenes?! I have my whole house set up with lutron scenes and I purchased this so I can turn on and off scenes. Now I have to individually re create them all in this app. Pointless and frustrating

Outdated app. No brightness control for LIFX bulbs. It's been seven months since last update guys. People are asking about the brightness slide that disappeared on reddit, on your forum, here. Did you give up on this app?!

Can't change brightness. Brightness control is gone, severely degrading usefulness of app. Please fix.

TP-Link compatibility. Nice app and controls, works great with my Sonos, but would like TP-Link Smart WiFi Plug compatibility please.

Siri Harmony Hub. This button works with harmony hub, compatible with homekit, but I can not use Siri to turn my TV on / off. Disappointed.

Great buttons, frustrating app. I’ve configured two different sets of POP buttons - one to work with IFTTT and the other with HomeKit. This app’s poor usability made the process confusing and frustrating in both cases. However, I stuck with it, figured out what needed, and have been very happy with the buttons. Logitech might have a real winner with the buttons if they improved the usability of this setup app.

Can’t log in. Cannot log in on iPhone 11

Not working with LIFX or HomeKit. The buttons were working fine for a while with LIFX lights, and all the sudden it stopped working, I tried everything, factory reset on buttons and the bridge, and nothing. After resetting everything I can't even get it to work with IFTTT. I was also never able to get it to work with HomeKit since the beginning, but that wasn't a big deal for me. Also the app is not intuitive at all, it took me a long time to figure out something as simple as deleting buttons, devices, etc. and there is no interaction feedback, you're never sure if you pressed a button or not. UPDATE: It has been 40 days since I posted this review and still LIFX, WeMo and HomeKit are NOT WORKING, this is not right, please fix it.

Please help. My devices stopped working today with iOS 16.2 HomeKit upgrade! Any update planned or help here would be greatly appreciated Edit: removing bridge and re-adding resolved issue!

Sonos Support Lacking. Logitech finally released their Sonos documentation on the support site and it turns out that you can't use this app to create Sonos groups, but rather only control one speaker. This is worthless for my current use and now I have $150 worth of useless equipment. I wouldn't recommend the POP system and software if being used for controlling Sonos.

Complete garage. App keeps crashing when trying to launch. I can’t tell you how many people have searched on Reddit to try and find a solution, and not one person from Logitech cares. Don’t believe me? Google search logi pop app keeps crashing and see what “pops” up.

Not updated for iOS 13. App crashes constantly on iOS 13. Unusable. Works on iOS 12 with my old phone still or my numerous poppers would be completely useless :( Last update was a year ago.

Non-functional. Until the brightness control for lighting is updated for LIFX lights (and I’m assuming others), the 2 pop switches that I’ve purchased are effectively rendered useless. Don’t buy this product unless you only like your lights at 50% all the time...

No updates in a year? Pathetic.. Will never buy a Logitech product again.

Frustrating and unreliable.. The hardware is good but it’s extremely difficult to troubleshoot and in my experience is generally unreliable. The app still isn’t optimized for the iPhone X.

Fix software. It’s 2018 and the iPhone X has been out for over a year now. Can you optimize the UI of the app to fit the whole screen.

Long time user—appreciating this update. I’ve used Logi POP switches for several years now. This app had been on its last legs for years. I had to juggle old devices to adjust certain settings, where iOS updates made the UI unusable. And by happenstance, I had need to try to make some adjustments to my scenes after some recent hardware upgrades. Imagine my surprise that an update was published 4 days prior, fixing many of the most devastating bugs that had plagued the experience of using this app. Realize, this product line is in an end of life state—no new hardware being made. But this is a review of the software, not the hardware. And the services available in this software still mostly do everything that it was ever advertised to do. So no new features will likely ever come, but still useful for certain workflows. I give many thanks to the engineer who pushed out this update! I have imagine they did it just for their own personal devices. I suspect this will be the final update. But it’s in an ok spot to be useful for at least a few more years, I think. To this day, the options in this space are limited, and I’m glad I don’t have to invest in any other system just yet, all of them on the market now having their own drawbacks. Thankfully, this old, under appreciated, reliable ecosystem has a little fight left in it.

App instantly crashes. I haven’t been able to use this app for months because it keeps instantly crashing. The home app says I need to update the firmware on it but because the app crashes I’m not able to do it. This is very frustrating.

Love it. Love this product and the app is great - very clean UI

Lost all my settings again!. The app seems to lose my settings every couple of months, now I have to set up everything. The app asks me to log in, then everything breaks. There's no backup And no I'm not emailing your tech department, that's why you have QA

No brightness control. Please add brightness control for the up to date iOS.

Can’t login with facebook, and can’t change the login method. OK so now I’m stuck can’t get back into the app and of course there’s no support available just useless forums.

App crashes immediately. Can’t get past either “log in” or “set up” on iOS 13.2. Crashes instantly. How am I supposed to apply the update that HomeKit says is available?

Can’t believe how bad it is. This app is as complicated as it could have been. I thought it would be a good experience but now I think I’m just returning this button

Crashes when logging in. This app crashes when I attempt to log in.

Obsolete. Welp. 1.6 No longer connects to a Lutron hub. So the whole POP system is headed for the trash. Shame, because it worked well with systems from multiple vendors for a while. Getting rather tired of home connectivity devices that get abandoned after a couple of years.

Crashes in iOS 12. Used to work great but the app crashes in iOS 12. Please fix!

Needs to be updated l!. Can’t adjust anything related to brightness since I got the iPhone X and even worse since iOS 12.

Setup and loving it. Just got my buttons set up. Now I can lock my front door, turn on lights and start music all with the same button. Setup was a breeze, love these little things. Just wish there was an option for custom button colors to match my living room.

Forgets everything. Resets needed every few days because buttons stop working. Major let down for something so simple

Not fully supported in iOS 12. I unable to control brightness settings for my LIFX light strip after upgrading to iOS 12

Total neglect. This was an ok app to support an otherwise good product, but failure to keep the app updated for eons at this point renders the product and app useless. Shame on Logitech. Read forums online for details while you look for alternatives.

Abyss of hope. Buyer beware!! Not updated for new OS’s, for new screen sizes, for new features from the lighting manufacturers, for support on their own site, for anything HomeKit related. If you enjoy punishment and get it to work for its limited capabilities, then congrats. If they ever do put out an update, it won’t be anywhere near enough to make up for the embarrassing neglect they’ve done so far. Shame on Logitech Shame on me for buying the product Shame on you if you read these reviews and still buy the product Buyer warned.

Bizarre it shows but doesn’t control LIFX brightness. The physical button is handy and works well. But running under iOS 12 although the app gives an indicator line displaying the set brightness, it has no slider to change it, even though the same app when installed under an earlier version of iOS (in my case v9 on a very old iPad) has a prominent slider that works. Very strange, very frustrating, very puzzling given Logitech’s usual excellence.

Always need to reset after update!. Every time this app updates, I need to reset all of my POP switches. The update logs me out, I need to re-login, and then nothing works! This is getting very annoying!

No Longer Control Brightness. This app has not been updated for iOS 12. Since updating to iOS 12 you can no longer adjust the brightness setting of my LIFX bulbs. There should be a brightness slider at the top of each bulbs settings but it’s now gone. Please update the app.

Non stop crashing. The app crashes immediately after launch. Tried deleting and installing again and went through a few screens before the crashing started again.

Great little tools. Much easier than saying Alexa. I just wish the made replacement for physical switches. The app doesn’t quite work on my iPhone Xs. I can’t control the top slider to adjust the brightness due to the notch.

Good idea, terrible execution. This product is a good idea but the execution is terrible. The app is not intuitive and doesn't work well. Horrible still after over a year of ownership. Seems like a dead end product.

Last update... 7 months ago!. This is a horrendous way to leave your customers. I know don’t have the ability to adjust the dimmer through the app as it hasn’t been update to support the newest iOS. Please update this!

Update the app please... crashes every time. Needs at least latest screen size and the app really could use an overhaul. Edit: crashes every time I try to login and HomeKit is telling me there are updates for my buttons but can’t login to update. Is this dead?

Amazing product, horrible app (use HomeKit). First off, I want to say this is an amazing product overall - the rating I gave is directly tethered to the app itself. Not the hardware or experience when you get it working. The app will NOT let you convert your device to HomeKit - despite it having the feature to do so. The app is horribly laid out, and very confusing. Even more so when you compare to the simplicity of the Apple HomeKit interface. If you add the device with this app first but intend to use HomeKit, prepare to lose at least 20 minutes, as you will need to perform a factory reset on the bridge & button(s) to set it back up in HomeKit. Lastly, if you add directly through HomeKit while on your 2.4GHz band of your network - it will be painless and work perfectly. I cannot stress enough how great the end result is - you get to control any HomeKit device by the touch of a button. You can add as many as you like as well, just be sure not to use this app - use HomeKit and if you add a button, simply tap the Birdge’s button and then your add-on button and it will automatically appear in the Apple Home app. Great product - horrible app.

No iOS 13 support.. Great product. Horrible app. Just as others complained... No brightness support for iOS 13. This is absolutely not acceptable. It has been a year since the last update. What excuse could they possibly have?

Suddenly stopped working. The app suddenly stopped working with an alert on launch that it can’t connect to the server.

Can’t control LIFX brightness. Just got this thing to give my LIFX bulbs a physical switch. But surprise surprise the app hasn’t been updated in 7 months and doesn’t support brightness adjustments. 100% not worth $50 since it doesn’t appear that Logitech cares enough to update the app to keep pace with the fast changing world of technology.

Time to move on?. I tried to make adjustments for the first time in a long time and also discovered the absence of a working brightness control for LIFX bulbs. Lucky I had an old iPad mini running IOS 9.3 to complete my changes. No updates in 7 months is alarming and suggests they may no longer develop this. Another waste of money it seems in the pursuit of an automated home. The FLIC hub and buttons have proven to be rock solid now, so looks like it’s time to go POP!

I love my Pop buttons. They are really great, although they do not detect my new model LIFX and LIFX+ bulbs, pleeeeease fix this quickly Logitech :)

No development of app anymore. Sooo, this app has been broken for a long time now and it is no longer possible to set the brightness of LIFX lights with this product. Not impressed!!! Looks like there is no choice but to dump Logitech and go with a more reliable brand.

Busted for Lifx. I had to set up the app on a new device but scanning for Lifx now gives me nothing. These expensive buttons are now absolutely worthless. Thanks folks.

Logitech has abandoned this app and its users. After investing around $500 in Logitech pop buttons and incorporating them into my home - I was shocked to find that Logitech’s integration with LIFX bulbs is now broken and they have not made any attempt to fix it. It is simply not possible to adjust brightness of LIFX bulbs anymore with this app. I have waited for them to resolve it for multiple versions of IOS and I am now about to replace all of my switch infrastructure with Flic buttons. I will remember this as I gradually replace my peripherals and speakers over time (with products from companies that care more about their customers).

Great switches ... home automation without a phone. Love these little devices. Home automation without using lots of smartphone apps. Love just using the switch instead of pulling out my phone ... so much faster! Could do with some bug fixes (my Lifx brightness does not work anymore).

Desperately needs an update. Can’t change the brightness, only the temperature.

Needs an update!. Great hardware and a neat app, but needs an iOS 12 update to make the brightness function for LIFX bulbs work again.

They are awesome when they work. Have been using these buttons in HomeKit to control a Phillips hue go and two elgato eve’s for about 6 months. The buttons are great and work well except the hub disconnects from wifi about every 3-4 weeks. It is then a full factory reset and re-setup to get everything working again. The Logitech pop app and support guides are terrible. They are incredibly simple but lots of things just don’t work. Logitech are you still updating this app and firmware because there is a lot of flaws for fairly expensive hardware.

Abandoned support. iOS12 has been out for over 6 months and the App still doesn’t work properly with Lifx. You may think “big deal. I don’t use Lifx”. But it shows they are asleep at the wheel. Your home automation device may be the next to break. Avoid this abandoned platform.

Did work with HomeKit but no longer :(. I had to reset my WiFi password and the Logitech Pop stopped working; I reset the device to use my new WiFi password but it no longer worked, after multiple resets it looks like HomeKit is no longer supported. I will gift this button to someone or put it on Kijiji

App still needs a lot of work. This app was working before the last update; now brightness on bulbs like LIFX are defaulted to brightness to 50%, instead of adjustable. This is a known issue within the Pop community, but no update or communication about fix. Will adjust rating once update happens

Can’t connect to bridge or pop. Just received this thing and nothing works. Cannot find the bridge, had to add it through the home app, but now I am unable to find the pop. What a useless thing.

No updates in a year. My pop button is not working with HomeKit. It worked for a while now it seems to have stopped. I reset the pop bridge but it still does not work. Why has this app not been updated in over a year. Poor support.

Ifttt, wth?. Arcane, cryptic and impenetrable. Needs to be rebuild from ground up for usability and user friendliness.

Crashes on login. Crashes every time I try to log in. Support was no help. Had to switch to an android device. Now it only crashes every time I try to use the main navigation menu. Totally useless app.

Buggy app, also frustrating they stopped supporting something so expensive so soon. I keep an old android phone around to change the “recipes” because they don’t work properly, and never worked properly in iOS. The android version allows the user to change the brightness of Hue and Lifx bulbs in recipes, while this has never worked in iOS. Recently, the bridge has been struggling to connect to my router. Resetting the bridge hasn’t worked and the app has no way of clearing out the bridge before a re-pair attempt.

It’s ok. I’m only using this button to control one Phillips hue light. The first issue is that the color scheme doesn’t match colors from Hue. You can set the color to blue and the color will actually be a bluish white. You can then go into the Hue app and turn it a deeper blue. Logitech needs to update this. The apps doesn’t have iPhone X support. A bit of a pain in the butt to set up. I had to restart my phone, the hub, and the router in order to get it to work. You guys should have an outlet on the bridge so an outlet is not totally taken up.
