Horribly inaccurate.. I live in South Korea and have for a total of 5 years, spread out over the last decade in a 3 year stay and now 2 years into a 5 year stay, in that time the air quality here has gotten much much worse. I was recently diagnosed with asthma (something that is apparently becoming more common for people in Seoul) and have to check the air quality regularly. If it's above 100 aqi I have to wear a special filter mask to leave the house. I got this app to make it easier to check the AQI regularly, one of the big draws for this app is it notifies me if the AQI goes above 100, or it's supposed to. Yesterday it never dropped below 100 and I never got a notification (thankfully I'd had the thought to check online before leaving the house) and upon checking the app it said an AQI of 63 when it was really 163. If you're relying on this app for all your AQI information and live in a city with poor air quality such as Seoul you may be putting your health at risk by relying on this app.

App is a literally a life saver!. More info is much better than less info to make an informed decision to expose yourself to harmful pollutants. Certain ill informed so called Educators working against the free flow of info do us all a disservice. I very much doubt air visual would try to manipulate data to sell products. You don’t need a degree to step Outside and see the acrid air. Is too bad Vietnam has let special interest override people’s health. This app and the info is critical. I am moving because the govt is not doing anything to stop pollution and the Vietnamese people are literally choking to death. Thanks Mr Vu Khac Ngoc for being small minded and limiting available info.

Your AQI in an app. This free app can help you with information and forecasting of the air quality in your area. Since the 1970’s I’ve been personally interested in my home environment mainly because 3 of my family members, my husband & 2 children have hay fever in the Spring. We installed an electronic air filter in our furnace and air conditioning system which seemed to help immensely. Fat forward another 30+ years when we discovered the AirVisual app & their small device that could monitor our indoor air quality. Yes, using an AirVisual device is an easy way to monitor and improve your own air quality in your home. I discovered that NOT opening the windows to bring in a little fresh air was bad for us. Our carbon dioxide CO2 levels were getting in a higher range and causing headaches and lethargic behaviors. Being retired and at home most of the time, this became even more important to monitor our indoor AQI. Thank you AirVisual for providing the tools and information for a healthier lifestyle. 🥰

Helpful. I recently moved to Cincinnati, where the air quality is often poor. (This purple state has laws to mandate emission checks for cars more than 3 years old but doesn’t provide funding for car emission centers, so laws are unenforceable.). This app helps me time and pace my outdoor activities - shifting activity to Times with better air quality has helped my older toy dog, who developed bronchial problems after moving here. I use the app several times per day and compare it to other air quality forecasts - it seems pretty accurate.

Forecast data is completely unreliable. While current local condition air quality seemed accurate, the forecast data, even just a few hours ahead, was completely wrong. I live in Oregon and we had horrible air quality last summer, in the unhealthy range repeatedly, even crossing into hazardous at times. With many wildfires burning across our region, we are all jumpy in fear of a repeat. For some reason, despite consistently good air this year, the app predicts unhealthy air 4 hours in the future every single day. During the first week I cancelled a number of recreational and outdoor activity plans based on these predictions. I am especially peeved about one of these cancellations, something that I really wanted to do and lost some reservation money. I followed the site for another week—same thing every day. I know air patterns and fire conditions can change rapidly but AirVisual was never correct. The forecast ability was the main draw for me so I deleted AirVisual and swapped it out for an app with a very simple design, just current AQ numbers in bubbles on a map, easy to navigate around a region.

For the asthmatics. The app I didn’t know I needed. Great for checking the air quality with “accurate data”. I was using another website that was very misleading. The UI is pleasant and allows you to easily add multiple locations to monitor. Extremely helpful during the recent fires in Canada which put a halt on all outdoor activities for a few days. My family was able to map out a location to “get away” until things went back to normal in our area. I’ll definitely keep this around to better manage my asthma.

Moving forward- a must have app!. What else can 2020 bring?? This app has honestly been such a good source for the AQI. A trusted resource that most use, gives you hour by hour updates of anywhere in the world pretty much. The graphics are easy to understand and the app is simple to navigate. The fires here on the west coast are insane, but I’m thankful of how educated I am becoming because of this app and the circumstances I’m in. Moving forward I will be using this app, even after the fires have passed and the air quality improved. It’s very important to me now that ever before to have knowledge of the quality of air I breathe.

Pollen Counts. Love this app. We’re thinking of moving to get away from allergy city: Dallas-Fort Worrh Metroplex. A year after moving here I went from 1 to 9 allergies. This app allows me to check cities I’m interested in to see if it would be worth the move. A couple of improvements: 1. Break down pollen counts by most common allergens. 70% of people who have an allergy are allergic to Ragweed. 2. Add pollen counts for International cities. We’re also considering non-US locations like New Zealand, the Philippines and Canada for retirement but no allergy counts are available for those areas.

Pretty darn good. Ever since I had pneumonia, I check before I hang out outside and it’s helped a lot... this app has a location reader closer to where I live than any other app, sometimes I have found the air quality isn’t great even though it says it’s OK on the app (I have really sensitive lungs at the moment and environment really affects them) but generally it seems to be pretty accurate... and I like that there’s weather attached to it. I do wish there was a reading a little bit closer to where I am, but the main thing I wish they would change is the app image. Especially during the pandemic, I hate seeing an icon of someone with a mask on every time I go to check the air quality, just kind of depressing... it would be great if it were changed to a more positive image! We could all use more of that!

Please turn off air quality alerts on map. This app is usually great. At a glance I can see how air quality is trending across my region, which is so helpful for smoke season in Washington State. However, they seem to have just added a feature where it shows “air quality alerts” for each place that has one on the map. Since that is literally every municipality in my state, I can no longer just open the app to the map and see what the levels are like, because the actual AQI bubbles are annoyingly blocked by the alerts unless I zoom in a lot. This so so unhelpful, I know that the AQI is bad already and I do not care if every city has issued an alert (which means nothing, it’s not like it changed the aqi). Please allow users to turn off the AQI alerts so they no longer visually block the data from the air quality sensors.

Great app and integrations. Easy to use, nice UI, and great, accurate info. There are a lot of apps for aqi info, but this has become my go-to app. Seems accurate with up to date data that’s accessible and easy to read and use. The devices they sell are cool, too. The devices even integrate with hundreds of other things with IFTTT! My only wish is I hope they make the aggregated data and the news-like info they have in the app available for IFTTT, too — then it would work alongside the device-specific integration data they have if you own a device and the aggregate data wouldn’t be so locked up in this app.

Fantastic easily navigated app. This app is so easy to configure and navigate through and provides so much valuable information. We are extremely polluted right now in the San Francisco Bay area because of the wildfires. With the single glance on the map display we can see how our relatives are doing in Grass Valley California and how things are in San Francisco and Palo Alto and anywhere else for that matter by simply zooming and scrolling.. With the favorite places page I can see details on cities I have selected with seven day forecast if I want. Right now severe pollution in San Francisco is still basically just the equivalent of a not too bad day in New Delhi!

Very helpful information, user-friendly format. I downloaded this app to help with day-to-day decisions and vacation plans. I thankfully was able to cancel plans to head to an area with +400 AQI and went somewhere with 50 AQI instead. Having asthma, this is helpful to see if I should spend time outside or not. Some days I can tell visually or by smell if it’s a no-go kind of day, but sometimes it’s not obvious but I don’t want to aggravate my asthma. I like the color indicator, and the person icons that are a fast and easy way to see how things are in different areas. This is definitely reinforcing my plans to move abroad for better air quality.

When to mask and filter up. Air Visual app gives me AQI for my location and where I’m headed. When AQI too high I do not want to stress my car either. App gives continental view and wind directions showing what changes in wind direction. Then I can plan ahead. I wish smoke did not return or hurt others this week. Looking at Air Visual app I can adjust and make safest plan possible. Right now I can still go outside with mask and C filter. Take a short walk. Plant a few seeds in the garden. Also gives me a world perspective, where the fires are. Says a lot about climate change. In September the smoke in Brazil and near them, covered four times the land area of our west coast fires and Smokey air. Also that Canada Alaska and Europe had relief. China did not.

Useful!. This app provides important information about air quality in an easy to understand format. As someone with an impaired immune system, I appreciate knowing what precautions to take re: air quality on a given day. Two things that would make this app even better: 1. Either screen info providers for reliability/accuracy, or rate the quality of each provider’s data. For example, of the 10 readings shown for Washington DC, the AQI shown ranges from 8-130, with the rest showing AQIs between 28-54. Many measurements appear to come from anonymous sources, making it difficult to evaluate the degree to which those data should be relied upon. 2. The maps are difficult to move, despite using two fingers as required. Improving the responsiveness of the maps would make the app easier to use.

Amazing year-round, but esp w Fires. Having the app and the indoor CO2 and a Q I am on it or has been life-changing. I never knew that I was getting so fatigued while working because the CO2 levels would get so high. I just thought I was getting tired. Now I track CO2 levels and circulate the air much more in my house and feel more focused and less fatigued. It’s also been great during fire season because, when hooked up to Wi-Fi, the monitor tells me the AQI outdoors for a sensor less than a mile away from me, and there are so many sensors throughout the city I can choose from. So I know if it’s safe to open my windows or not. The app gives me notifications for when my indoor air quality gets to pour and it’s really helped me feel fresher in my home. So grateful!

Exactly what an app should be - dynamic, informative and can help people live healthier lives. IQAir has been amazingly helpful as we navigate the wildfire smoke days, thanks so much to everybody who manages and contributes to this effort. I have it at the top of my birthday wish list to get the equipment to become a contributor, and the information you provide has convinced many friends and relatives to take positive steps for their own health as well. This app is an inspiration about what science and collaboration by so many people can do, thanks again!

IQAir - For people who take breathing seriously. This company makes top-quality products. Even as I unpacked my new HEPA air purifier I could see at once how carefully it had been designed and built. The excellent design and performance of the purifier encouraged me to order their air-quality sensor a few days later, so I could really know what is going into my family’s lungs. I am more than impressed with the IQ Air sensor/monitor as well. It is these sensors, when they are installed outdoors, that provide the world-wide data (minus China) for the IQ air app. I am considering purchasing a second unit to install outdoors, so I too can provide air-quality data to help us all. But there happens to be one about a block away from where I live, so I am already receiving extremely local data from a device that I trust. Easy to give 5 stars here.

Garbage. When I first downloaded this app it could show wind currents and offered to alert me when the AQI was over 30 and under 25- as someone who is sensitive to smog particles this was worth investing in until I actually used it for a week, I no longer can see the air currents to tell the directions air toxicity is coming from, Nor do the alerts warn me when the AQI is above 30, instead the only alert I receive is WHEN ITS NORMAL, imagine that? This makes it useless to defend yourself from toxic air- just a cute data drainer don’t download this app or purchase the 276$ equipment to join in like I was planning to do until this app can’t fulfill its own basic functions. I deleted my account and decided to buy a dyson air purifier/ionizer instead- tl;dr this app will notify you only AFTER you have ingested toxic air. Fix your map. Fix your notifications

Excellent for Air Quality Forecast and Safety. This app continues to be very helpful for knowing the current AIR QUALITY in your location. Easy to use and read, great color coordinated layout to compare different areas air quality. It was very helpful for my family and I both during the 2017 Thomas Fire in California and today (September 2020) during this extremely difficult fire season across the West Coast. The app is able to consistently be updated and can show you hourly, daily, and weekly forecast and more. You can add many locations on the same page to compare. If you scroll down, it also shows you the PM level of pollutant in your area (worth learning about) and has guideline suggestions for your safety depending on the pollutant level in your area. I’m checking daily for forecast updates. Much appreciated and highly recommended. Thankful for this updated information.

Useful. This app has been great to have during all the wildfires happening around the West this summer. It updates quickly, and shows data from many locations. Cons: forecasting air quality is not really possible in the same way as weather - even though this app was predicting that every day the AQI would keep rising to “Very Unhealthy”, it did not turn out that way in our location due to ever changing winds. Also, the AirVisual Earth display is very cool and a pretty advanced feature in a free app, but I wish it would show state boundaries or some other geographic features to help me understand exactly where my community is, within the outline of the U.S.

Great resource!. Discovered this app a couple of months ago and find it very useful in evaluating air quality, ventilating my house, and considering how to improve air filtration in my house. With continuing fires and air pollution in N California, I have developed bronchial irritation and increased congestion (which closely tracks air quality conditions reported by air visual). I attribute the good info to lots of reporting stations in my area. Of particular interest is knowing when to ventilate my house (during periods of good air reported by air visual). Also, the app is helping me evaluate the performance of my whole house air filter system; my house filter helps but need improvement. As a result of the app's functionality, I'm considering buying a larger version of IQAir's home air purifier as an adjunct to my whole house filtering. I give a 4 star rating because there is always room for improvement.

Thank you!. You have made it possible for me to monitor air quality along the west coast during this horrific fire season. I live in Kentucky but have relatives in Washington and California as well as friends in Oregon. It may seem a small thing but it has meant a lot for me to be able to say to them “I see you are going to need to stay indoors today” or “your air quality will be better in two days so hang in there” instead of always asking “how bad is it?” I could demonstrate that I cared by knowing their situation and expressing empathy rather than pelting them with repeated questions. Compassion and empathy are so much better than questions when one is under duress!

Current AQ features great, but forecast is a joke. The Good: Air Visual lets you set a local AQ station as default, and on launch, displays current AQI reading plus 48hrs of detailed history and a week of daily averages. At the bottom of the page, there is a map that lets you scan AQ readings at stations within a ~15mile radius. To get this AQ map, or any local AQ info, on Weather Underground website requires a half dozen clicks to toggle on PM2.5 filter, and WU does not offer any AQ history data, so this functionality makes AirVisual well worth the download. The Bad: I had high hopes the AIrVisual AQ forecast feature would help me plan outdoor activity by predicting windows of good air during California fire season. My hopes were unfounded: it is the worst “predictive” weather tool I have ever encountered! It would appear AirVisual’s forecast tool is based on the assumption that daytime pollution will simply dissipate overnight. With most of the West Coast on fire, the question is how much new smoke prevailing winds are bringing our way, and AirVisual’s forecast feature is clearly not built to gauge this, whether by visual smoke imaging or by other means.

Asthma Family Says Thanks!. This app has been incredibly helpful for our family. We have 3 people in our family with asthma, one of which has severe asthma. This app helps us to know when they are safe to play outside and when going to the museum or the mall would be a better idea. We live in the Rocky Mountains, so, the smoke can get pretty intense here during the summer, which makes us use the app multiple times a day. The only problem for us is that we live in the mountains so the air quality is different here (usually worse) than it is where the air quality monitor is. The closest monitor is 30-45 minutes from where we live. Other than that, we love this app!

You can see where the Canadian wildfires are too. Where I live on the East Coast is greatly affecting the air quality by the fires. This app has a map and you can see where the fires are located. I’m a map person and couldn’t find by searching for it. Plus it’s free. I’m going to look in to their air filters as we have allergies to pretty much everything outside and daughter has asthma. Looks like an interesting house unit that gets small particles my regular house unit won’t filter out. My 7 small air cleaning units inside my small house aren’t doing the job and they take up room on the floor.

Would give negative stars if I could. I’be been a long time fan, and still am, of IQAir’s air purifiers. In fact, I own 4 of them. I was deeply disturbed when I waited exactly 48 hours into the East Palestine Ohio train derailment that happened a few months back. I thought to myself, what a great way to finally see if this app is reporting real accurate data. In an effort to give IQAir the benefit of the doubt, I waited the extra 48 hours in hopes the app would have either picked this tragic event up on national news or actually report real data. To my dismay, IQAir reported “GREEN LIGHT” next to which was a photo of a man on a bicycle stating great air quality to go for a bicycle ride. WOW. Really? The entire city has been EVACUATED and animals are being found DEAD on the ground but according to IQAir, the air quality is GREAT! What’s more disheartening is my review (same as this one) posted at the time was never approved and didn’t show up. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one doesn’t show up either. Sorry, IQAir. I’d love nothing more than to report 5 stars for you but you can’t cheat people like this especially when this information is used for people’s health. Shame.

Best air quality app so far. I live in Northern CA where we call Autumn “fire season” and not because the leaves look like fire. This year was better where I live than past years but you can’t always tell right away when the air is bad or if it has become more dangerous. This app warns you (if you let it) when the air quality has changed, good or bad, and uses a lot of different data from many sensors around the area including privately owned and EPA etc. that give a much better reading in the micro climate air. It’s very easy to use as well. I highly recommend getting this app to keep track of the air quality where ever you go.

This is feedback. Can you reduce the repetitive updates about air quality. I have my location setting on and am based in one city but right now I am receiving alerts for everywhere in the Bay Area and I don’t appreciate it. I know air quality can vary even locally but it’s a bit redundant to get 10+ alerts for the regional air quality, don’t you think? Also, make feedback through the app simpler. Otherwise this is a good air quality app. I like the air pollution and pollen info. If you don’t care about pollen and/or live in fire season areas then you should get Watch Duty. It shows air quality AND where wildfires are/their status, wind direction.

Terrible app with device. If you have an air iq, which I just bought. This app is pretty terrible. It has HUGE gaps in the reporting. For example I have my device on all day. And the graph for “daily” report only shows info for 10am-2pm then a huge gap of no data, and then more reporting from 5pm-11pm, then a huge gap again between 11pm-2am. It’s completely random each day with times it will decide not to record info. The decide itself shows what happened over the last 24 hours fine. But the app shows these huge gaps which makes it useless since you can’t look back at history on the device itself beyond a day. So this problem with the app makes in unusable and also severely damaged the usability of the device too since you can’t access historical data beyond a day. This makes testing in a bad air home almost impossible to see if you are making any progress or not. For a $300 device, the app should work flawlessly with it.

Did my research, get it. I have lived in China for 3 years and have a two-year old boy. Once he was born I became more interested in what all the AQI apps actually did and started researching them. AirVisual is by far the best one I have come across (having used 10+ different apps). Not only can you choose to use the US index (which I would highly recommend) you also can see which pollutants are contaminating the atmosphere at any given time. I also have a laser egg (also highly recommended) which is a portable particulate counter and the readings on my mobile device and the closest monitoring station on the app are always within +/-20 meaning they are not contradicting each other. On other apps there would often times be a 50 point+ difference between what my particulate counter read and the other random apps I was using. Also, do note that some apps do, like airvisual, have the different pollutants listed and their levels but airvisual is the only app I have found that combines that with the ability to choose the US AQI standard. My go-to app when it comes to air pollution.

Nice features, OK accuracy, one of many. I’ve found a number of sources to test my air quality. AirNow doesn’t have as many local sensors, so it’s best for a general idea and for ozone levels, which some don’t display. My favorite for local particle readings now is PurpleAir, which has local sensors and you can add your own, similar to Weather Underground, and you can even integrate with their site. AirNow has the unique feature of displaying overall air quality from your device home page as if it’s the number of notifications you’ve missed. Took me a minute. Now I have my general idea of air quality at a glance. Good for those of us opening and closing windows, turning on and off air filters, or wearing masks to exercise outdoors. Thanks for a stable app. Build those sensor numbers.

Very Helpful. This app has actually been super helpful during this horrendous California wildfire season. We have found ourselves checking the app several times a day and the information/numbers seem generally pretty accurate compared with our firsthand experience of air quality/smoke conditions. The information is presented in a clear and helpful format and everything usually works well. Two of the most helpful features have been the air quality projections for the coming hours and days, and the live smoke and wind-currents radar map. While we know the projected air quality numbers are not always accurate due to constantly changing wind and weather conditions, they can be very helpful in giving you some idea of how things are likely to be trending. They also seem to update frequently with the changing conditions, making the short term predictions generally pretty accurate, even if the longer term ones are not. In the air quality map section, be sure to tap on the small dark rectangle that says “Air Visual Earth” which brings up another map of the world that you can pinch-and-zoom-in to see a real time smoke and wind radar map. This app is much better than the other highly rated air quality app I tried. All in all, this app is excellent and very helpful.

It Might Be a Good App if.... I used the app for a couple of days and was pleased with the ease-of-use and the number of places I could monitor at a glance. More importantly, the app utilized different monitoring stations than the epa website, so it didn’t seem redundant. And, always a sucker for something pretty, its slick appearance appealed to me Then one day I was at work and the smoke kept rolling in, soon obscuring the view of a nearby butte, yet the app’s AQI number read 187, pretty much in the same range it had been for a number of hours. Finally, after I finished my work project, I checked 2 other monitoring sites and the AQI was actually over 400! Maybe it was a glitch with a particular monitoring station? Maybe this really is a great app??? In that moment I was disappointed, felt like got a false sense of security counting on the app so I deleted it.

Potential Lifesaver. It is only just beginning to seep into the public domain how catastrophically harmful poor quality air can be. It can irritate you, hurt your head and your heart, kill you or cause dementia. Checking air quality before engaging in outdoor work is vital especially in summer months. This is a simple but well-designed app that will display pollution levels and warnings for whichever monitoring stations you select. It can also provide notifications of changes in air quality. I have not yet come across intrusive tracking, data collection or advertising; it's not necessary to create an account to use it. I check it before working outside just as I check the (standard) weather forecast. Perhaps if we use products like these we'll come to see how we are, without exaggeration, poisoning ourselves. Highly recommended.

uncomfortable UI and sightly more cautious air rating. This app is useful because it has daily notifications and a widget. I use this app to check the air quality in Korea. But the number that this app reports is almost always higher than the Naver number, which is probably most correct in Korea. If it’s :( unhealthy on AirVisual, it’s just :/ not good on Naver. or if it’s :/ not good on AirVisual, it’s :| ok on Naver. It can be good to be cautious though! The worst part about this app is the UI. Swiping from the left never works to go back to the previous screen so I have to move my hand and push the back button in the top left corner. So annoying! There are a lot of menus on the bottom that I never click on like a map, a world ranking, and other not-that-useful stuff. Overall, it’s not that nice to look at and a bit frustrating to navigate. So I give 3 stars.

Indispensable App. This App is indispensable during the ever expanding California fire season. With so much smoke generated by the fires, the air quality is often in the hazardous range. The extra-fine particles in the air are extremely damaging as they can actually enter the blood stream if inhaled. This App helps us monitor the highly variable air quality which can change drastically throughout the day and it tells us when to stay in and when it is safe to venture outside. With its many local location readings, we receive up-to-date real-time information for our neighborhood 24/7.

A great reference tool—and free!. I have pulmonary fibrosis, which makes me extremely vulnerable to the smoke which is traveling through the west coast from fires in Siberia, California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. This app has current readings and even tells you from which station data is collected. It has a detailed map, as well as hourly, daily, and 7day predictions. For each level, warnings and precautions are given. This has let me plan my outings (especially walking the dog) for a time of day when danger is lowest. I’m grateful for help getting through this. I now use my AirMatters app only for the pollen count.

Can be useful, but not always accurate. I use this app to help prepare for bad air conditions, since I live in the PNW and the wildfire smoke aggravates my asthma. The statistical information and maps are really interesting and informative and the app itself is easy to use, but now I'm concerned that the information I'm getting is not accurate. There is currently an air advisory due to smoke in my area. For some reason, this app is insisting that the AQI is "Good" despite the fact that I can actually see pollution in the air. I'm not sure if this is really the app's fault or the fault of wherever the information is being sourced from, but regardless, I don't think I can rely on the information I'm being given to help me make informed decisions about my health anymore. It's unfortunate since I was really excited to find an app like this in the first place. If you decide to download it anyway, please be cautious and don't use it as your only source of information.

Clear and simple to use... I plan my bike rides by the map. This has been a great app to plan daily activities here in California with all of the recent fires and smoke. The large number of reporting stations reveal where the smoke clouds are drifting. I have actually been able to plan bike ride routes and outdoor activities to areas of better air quality. I also bought one of their personal air quality measurement units for my house. It is interesting to note that AQI does not always match what appears to the eye... sometimes the air appears clearer but is still unhealthful. The large number of reporting sites in their network provides a lot more information that is available on other websites.

Useful and provides insight. This app is very helpful whether you are traveling into the big city or just staying home. I never knew about this until it was recommended to me by a youtuber. If you plan on traveling, whether it be across country or just in to town, this app provides the right information you need to know about the air quality. My only qualm is since I live on the coast, the nearest AQI reading is 66 miles away, so it’s not really accurate for my local area but great for when I travel into the metro area to visit family. Maybe one day there will be an AQI for my area.

Best Headache control. Having this app allow me to know what’s going on with the air outside makes me super aware and careful of what’s also going on inside. It helps me know when to use my air purifiers and went to stay Away from the outside we had a major California fire blow through it in my hometown and the smoke put us in toxic levels and I don’t know what I would do without this app to keep me safe. It absolutely has gotten my headaches back under control I was so miserable every day in so much pain I recommend it for anyone that suffers or knows anyone in their family that suffers from any type of breathing issue

Peace of Mind. The app is so helpful as a quick reference to the air quality outside. I don’t have to guess and I know the reading is legitimate and accurate. In London, pollution is a major concern and exacerbates respiratory issues especially for children. I use AirVisual as a guide to determine when I turn on the air purifier for my infant son. The monitoring station is close to where I live so I am getting information that is up-to-date and relevant to the particular area where I live. My next step is to purchase one of the AirVisual monitors so I may see the readings in my own home as well as contribute data to the community. The app is very informative, giving you the basic or in depth information whichever you may prefer. Keep up the good work!

Helpful Beyond Expectation. I started using AirVisual during the November 2018 California fires. Now that the smoke has (mostly) cleared, I will keep using it. AirVisual not only tells you what the Air Quality Index (AQI) in your area is but also provides detailed information on what an AQI is and how it’s measured. The app provides both local and global (via a 3D globe) views of how our air is doing. It provides a ranked list of major cities based on air quality (thankfully San Francisco is now down to 68 ... during the intense smoke from the fires it was up near the top 10 of worst places to breathe), news articles on air quality and resources. And there is more! Highly recommended.

A Friend Indeed. My family lives in Medical Lake, Washington. We are working very hard to be safe from COVID 19 because we have a very young child and a medically vulnerable adult among us. After the fires in the surrounding area, we became concerned about not only meetings with the public but simply walking out our door. We began monitoring the air quality through your wonderful App. It enabled us to act BEFORE the air quality changed from moderate to hazardous. We received an air quality alert through a different service at 5pm pacific time. Which was nearly around 10 hours after the air was already in health damaging levels. Today your App helped us feel the confidence we needed to open our doors and windows and take a breath of much needed FRESH air. THANK YOU for helping us to stay healthy.

Love the info-as far as it goes. Definitely recommend as one tool.. Great app, but as a small population state in MAINE. I am in the second largest city, Lewiston and I am not sure if the readings ARE actually for LEWISTON or the most well known city of PORTLAND which would mean a difference for someone like me. What would be very helpful for people with lung diseases and air quality issues- knowing mold/ mildew spore counts as well as allergens such a ragweed, goldenrod, and other pollens. These are just as important to know for most of us. Thanks for the app- I have been telling others about it, but then I have to go to other sources for the other info- one app that would tell me everything I need to know as a person with severe lung disease and allergies would be the BEST!!!

Great international coverage. I spend a couple of months every year in northeast rural Thailand visiting my wonderful Thai in-laws. AirVisual's coverage of Thailand is excellent and helps guide me in taking antihistamines and using an inhaler when the sugar cane farmers are burning their crops. They do this prior to harvesting the sugar cane before they sell their sugar cane to the processing plants. Although the Thai government is actively encouraging the farmers to adopt different methods to improve air quality, the burn method quickly and efficiently prepares the sugar cane for harvesting. Consequently, change is slow. Beyond Thailand, I appreciate AirVisual's accurate air quality measurements and the ability to make a list of cities to monitor air quality.

Oh say can u see!. Well, even if the air is not as clear as we would like, I live a short distance from the Carr fire in northern CA, this app really helps to let us know the current air quality as well as the weather. When I first starting using the app I was unaware of all the GREAT features that were at my fingertips. Wow, it is like having my own weather station right in our home. From current weather for this days activities to predicting what we can expect later in the week. It is a wonderful tool that helps us make plans for all our outdoor activities. Thank u developers for a wonderful app. The Ryals family😁

Bring web features to mobile app. The service is fantastic so this rating is for the company and the service it provides so that I can have peace of mind and know when it is safe to open my windows and let fresh air in. The mobile app is a bit cluttered and not intuitive. I also would like to see the mobile app have the same (or better) functionality than the mobile website. Specifically, on the mobile website I can see a map of my neighborhood and it is layered with dynamic points of interest, fires, wind patterns, and a heatmap. None of this is available on the mobile app, so to get this functionality I have to keep the mobile website open and come back to it, rendering the app a lot less useful. I would also make it easier to find the nearest air quality station by allowing the user to enter an address and have the search results show nearby air quality stations so that the user can select the station they prefer to monitor in the My Air section of the app. The AirVisual Earth feature is fantastic, very evocative: it is beautiful and compelling and disheartening at the same time to be able to see air quality around the world. Thank you AirVisual team for putting this tech and service out to the world for consumption, awareness, and perhaps even reflection.

Saving Me. I learned about this app the other day when all the Canadian wildfire smoke was in our area and I didn’t realize how much of an issue it was going to cause me. I live in an area that normally has little to no pollution, so for me to experience such a change, where my asthma got so bad and I needed to bring the air purifier out, it was quite alarming. This app I learned about online after realizing I wasn’t sick, but rather having a reaction to all the pollution. It really helps me know when the air quality is down and when I need to be extra careful. It’s better than the Weather Channel that never mentioned there being an air quality alert on the worst day here.

Canberra air quality. When the city with the best air of many ranks behind New Delhi you know you have a problem. Since December 6 the pristine air has waxed and waned from unhealthy to 7 x Hazardous with the fire emergency! The App was a great help in knowing when one could vender out or open up the house

Very useful in the Sydney bushfires. This app is fantastic for monitoring air quality near where you’re staying; I’ve been using it during the Sydney bushfires and its been invaluable. It’s helped us to make decisions about holiday plans and which days to stay inside and run an air filter. Highly recommend it if you live anywhere with unpredictable air quality, or in NSW/VIC during this unprecedented fire season.

Great app!. Ever since the air pollution levels began fluctuating due to the bushfires, I have depended on this app daily to ensure my asthma is controlled. The app is easy to use and I find the readings are accurate. My only gripe is that the automatic location detection isn’t accurate and always pins me to another suburb instead of my own. If the developers can check this out, it’d be great!

Just started .... I have just started using this app and I am really happy with it. I get asthma and my eyes have also been affected by the pollution from the fires. With the knowledge of the app, I know exactly when I can open doors and windows, when to stay indoors and what the next few days will be like. It gives me the opportunity to plan ahead.

Ultimate air quality visualisation app. This app helps me to understand the air quality to my surroundings and also getting prepared before starting my day in poor air quality conditions. Also I got good education why this important. Recommend this app as essential.

Best air quality app. It’s a lot better and more accurate than Plume and other air quality reading apps. Very handy during Australian fires, as I often outdoors exercise and activities it was good to know what the smoke level would be where I’m going. Only needs Dark Mode to be implemented.

Great app - loads of potential. Love the format and presentation of information. The app will become even better over time when more institutions and people install monitors so that more good quality real-time data can be available in more locations.

Amazing! Where has this been every Bush fire season?. I'm so impressed. Buying one of air quality test machines for my apartment so I know exactly what the quality is. I've shared this app with all of my colleagues and we all use it religiously. Better stay tied to the government data... That way we know we can trust the ratings.

A must have in Australia right now. Loving and really grateful for this app right now in Sydney Australia. You can add what area you’re in for local alerts (globally). It sends you alerts on air quality for those areas. It tells you the levels of air pollution and what actions to take accordingly. Plus, if you have their air quality monitor and or you sign up, you can personalise it for recommendations and alerts for your specific threshold of tolerance. But you can get the app and see general air quality data either way. Very cool, not to mentioned very needed right now. Thank you Air Visual team.

Good, comprehensive information in an easy to use format.. As an asthmatic, it’s important to know what air quality is like on a daily basis. This app provides me with the data I need in an easily understandable format. I’ve used a few other air- quality apps and this is the best I’ve used so far.

Peace of mind. Our eldest daughter put us onto this apt It’s so easy to understand and grasp the information necessary to get on with your life. We’re in our sixties which isn’t old but has its issues. The scary part about air quality is you can’t see the harmfulness of the danger’s so your guided by the so called experts . This is an honest eye opening free !!! Apt thanks heaps for making it available

Appreciate this app. Thank God for this app! I really appreciate this app because it lets me know the quality of air and if it’s safe for my family or myself. Whether it’s for opening the windows or going out for daily exercise. So glad it’s there, especially since the bush fires 🔥 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Really appreciate this app!. This app has been a literal life saver. We check the AQI each day and keep track of whether it’s good to head out with our small kids, or not. We also use it to capture our own data for homeschooling. Can you make one change though, can you make the camera function to be for both vertical horizontal photos? Sometimes I’d like to take horizontal photos but then the AQI numbers are sideways. Thanks for a great user friendly app!

Easy to understand app. This has been a handy app to have during these past few weeks. It has helped me keep on top of my asthma because I can see if the following days are going to be bad and can adjust my meds accordingly. Simple to read.

Very good. This is an extremely helpfull app! It is definately worth 5 stars! Every morning i check this app to see if the air quality is ok to be able to go on my morning runs. I have not been able to do morning excersise but that is ok, the air has been hazardous and i would not have known that uf it werent for this app! Thank you for the help!

NSW Fires 2019. With the help of this app in the worst fires in our history, I am able to see if I can go out, should stay in, or if I need to wear a mask. (Like many the smoke has caused hazardous breathing for asthmatics) The school where I work has also been judging whether we should keep kids in or let them go out for lunch and recess. Thankyou

Excellent App.. I live in Melbourne and as you might have heard, Australia is on fire. This is a very helpful app that can potentially save your life. Air quality right now is at dangerous levels and because of this app I know it isn’t safe to be outside. If you have heart or respiratory issues, this should be on your phone.

Great, but needs ability to pick data sources. This app has been invaluable during NSW’s recent bushfires. Love it! My only ask is the ability to filter particular types of data sources. The map is crowded with inaccurate/delayed information and there’s no way of filtering it. Specifically, I’d like to filter out: * The “modelled using satellite data” markers. Often inaccurate and crowd out the real/physical sensors. * The Environment Department sensors. Often delayed by several hours, and of limited use anyway because they report 24h rolling averages rather than real-time data. The map view would be far more helpful if the above data sources could be hidden.

Life saving in Australia. This has been life saving over the last six weeks in Australia: the government and Murdoch controlled media is in deep denial over climate change. So it’s taken for State and other services to start declaring toxic levels of pollution. But I was lucky enough to get hold of this app and mask-up long before the masses stopped and started at their mortality.. A shame I can’t buy the outdoor monitor, but that’s the price of being in the rental rat racer that is Sydney and Melbourne

Bush fires!. We are very lucky because we usually have very clean air. But because if drought and fires, very dense smoke and dust have given us a taste of the other side. Interesting to see how we compare with well known polluted places of the world! Of course very helpful to know about the really small pollutants that are so damaging to our health.

Very accurate app rating air quality. Downloaded this app when I became unwell & needed to know what rating my local air quality was before I decided whether it was safe to go outside. I have tracked 3 areas each day for a month & the app has correlated to news sites published data. With all the smoke from bush fires appearing on & off I am finding this is the quick go to for air quality readings

Excellent App. Love this app. It gives you notifications and lets you know the air quality around you. You can also search for other areas. It gives ample information from low, to medium to very high quality of air quality with statistics. It’s a fantastic app to have. I highly recommend it. Thank you

Extremely useful. Air pollution isn’t always obvious until after exposure. This app has helped us to gauge when it’s safe to go outside and when it’s better to stay indoors with air conditioning on. It’s also been very useful for planning activities and trips. We didn’t realise just how exposed we were to pollutants and therefore damage to our lungs. We’ve now bought masks to wear outside when readings are high.

New User in Melbourne. I only gave 4 stars because I’ve only been using this app for 6 hrs, so a 5 rating seems a little premature. As I have asthma I’m using it already to plan when to hang the laundry out (tomorrow morning not this evening). It’s helpful because it’s impossible to know how many micro particles are about. I put a lot of effort into researching the best app for monitoring air quality. I read critical, most helpful, and most recent reviews instead of relying only on the main rating. It was shocking how many apps with high ratings had many people complaining that the app didn’t update in real time, some apps had people stating that the app was so inaccurate as to be dangerous for anyone relying on it. I also read reviews and ratings on independent websites and this app was consistently at the top of the list. I’m in Victoria and the app uses data provided by the Environmental Protection Authority. The app uses exposure guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation.

A Little Lifesaver. This app punches way above its weight. My lung disease has reached that point where I need to know when and if outside activities are safe for me. In a recent period of dense smoke haze in my area, this app kept me indoors and away from harm. It helped me avoid being impacted by what for me were very dangerous conditions Love it, Love it, Live it.

Great app. Like that diff areas can be entered so can keep eye on oldies areas! Have grandson cystic fibrosis so this app really helps his family. I work in day care and we have downloaded onto centre iPads as have babies and chn with asthma. Have recommended to family and friends. Actually it’s so good I would pay for it now that I see how helpful it is

Inaccurate - Don’t Rely On It. This is totally inaccurate for Sydney, Australia. Yesterday I received a poor air quality alert from the NSW government AQI website but this app shows good air quality - 27 for my local monitor station 12km away. There are many hazard reduction burns around Sydney now - 3 in central Sydney and 18 in total (rural fire service NSW). The air smells like a bonfire and my eyes sting. The app says it accesses government data - I doubt that. People with lung conditions rely on accurate information and they shouldn’t be allowed to operate in countries unless they use verified data.

Helpful. There seems to be a lag in how things are and how things are shown in the app but it’s still helpful in knowing what the rating for smoke in our area is during this bushfire season. We aren’t too close to a monitoring station but hopefully in time more will appear and this will get more accurate.

Does so much more. This is awesome if you need to know about air quality. Depending on the number of monitoring stations attached to the network, you get a pretty good idea of the air quality in your area or any area of interest. There's a great global map that gives you an infinitely detailed visualisation of air currents and pollution concentrations.

Breathe again. I like this ap in its simplicity of reporting the air quality at the phone site, as well as a few favourite places you may be interested in. It’s numerical as well as graded into good, moderate etc interpreting the reading for us. If moderate comes up, I find a mask can make a noticeable difference in my coughing and breathing so it’s great to have that guideline. It’s also great to see what it’s like where you are travelling to. And I find it interesting to check the pollution levels at different parts of the world. I had followed “purpleair” on internet and find that’s a good resource but this ap summarises clearly allowing a quick assessment so decisions can be made on the run. At certain levels, I know it’s healthy to go outside for s walk. At higher levels I know it’s healthier to find a way of exercising indoors. Thanks

Excellent. This app provides relevant and accurate information that allows me to plan daily activities to minimise my exposure to the smoke from the bushfires. I can tell when the smoke is bad just by looking out of the window of course but the data the app provides tells me how it rates objectively.

Simple and effective. AirVisual has been a great tool during the bushfire season this year and the subsequent smoke that has persisted. Very useful in determining when to do work outside and when to exercise our horses so as no to stress them. Has made planning our activities so much easier.

Great app for bushfire smoke/climate change adaptation. This app provides extra functionality over the “Air Visual” website. It’s really useful, easy to read and provides a wealth of facilities that assist in staying well, comfortable and well informed during times of compromised air quality (like bushfire smoke). No complaints or areas for improvement.

This app is amazing. The AirVisual collects the data from multiple sources, thus giving helpful recommendations for people, especially for someone who are living in air polluted conditions like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. Currently, the app is massively attacked by rating 1 star plus negative reviews from new Vietnamese users because of a campaign started by Vu Khac Ngoc, who cannot provide any evidence claiming that the AirVisual is manipulating the data to harm Vietnam tourism economy and to sell the air filter product. Again, I rate this app 5 stars because of its quality. I hope the app can be soon available again for Vietnamese people.

Where has this app been.. Due to sudden poor quality of air in Melbourne this app was wildly talked about at work. Once you look through the menu it’s very easy to use. You set your favourite locations and view the results instantly. This is a definite must have app for everyone concerned about their health and the health of other around them. Great work. Also you can see the air quality all around world. Cheers

Great app. Easterly winds in Byford/Perth Western Australia brings from the atmosphere many allergens and add to that industries such as a brickworks. This is so helpful to know when you can open up the house and breathe fresh air. Many bushfires around us in summer. As well as pre burning to minimise the extreme of bushfires by the Department DEFES and volunteers

Excellent factual information. Great app showing air quality visually, so true that some countries tried to hide it from their public to cover the real environmental conditions. They instead chose to stick their heads in the sand, and live in their delusional fictional world which clean air were a reality. Unfortunately not!

Up to date advice to stay safe. Particles that we can’t see our currently filling our city of Melbourne. Particularly as a nurse and a cyclist, being able to educate others and make informed decisions about my own outdoor activities has helped through a scary time of air pollution and bushfires. 4 star bc I’m curious how “estimates” are made and I can’t find that info !

PM2.5 alerted. I’ve been using the NSWDpie website that has 24 hour rolling averages (I can’t find a window of decent air to go outdoors) and PM10 and PM2.5 are treated equally. I can see PM10.5 but need to know if the smaller particles have also been blown away. AirVisual updates the AQI earlier, and graph historical data hourly and daily. (I can see the harzardous air for the last 20/24 days!

Air Quality App. This is a great app to have as when you have smoke from the bush fires, you know how bad the air quality is straight away. My sister is asthmatic and it helps her so much. Even if there are no bush fires and air quality is bad, you can be prepared to take all the precautions you need.

Air Quality. This app gets you a clear view on the air quality of your current location. Very helpful and informative especially when you’re traveling within 3rd world countries which are possibly very polluted, such as China, Vietnam, etc. Index provided by trusted measurements by US embassy (in this case, US embassy based in Saigon City, Vietnam)

Good app. Really good app to use. Melbourne is being shrouded in smoke from bushfires off and on. I am able to know when it is safe to air the house and when to close it up. I can also quickly find out if it is safe to go out. Highly recommended and easy to use.

Accurate monitoring of air quality. This app is an accurate and effective method to monitor hazardous air quality and enables the taking of appropriate planning and action where required. I have relied on this app to determine if masks are needed outdoors and if my children are able to attend outdoor activities.

AUSTRALIA IS BURNING. I love this app it’s helped me a lot, i live in melbourne (miles away from any active fires) but this app has helped me stay healthy. I love how the app sends me notifications every morning on the AQI for the day & specifically for my area, helps me plan out if i should/shouldn’t go for a jog in the morning. I’m obsessed with checking the AQI in my area & surroundings now, thanks for the app. I hope all Aussies & people around the world download this Air Quality app for assurance on safe clean air. Thoughts & prayers for everyone affected by the fires surrounding our country ❣️

Great handy app. I love the design of the app it’s visually clean and fresh to look at. I started using this yesterday as we’ve been hit hard by hazardous smoke by fires in Victoria. Ive been able to squeeze in some outdoor exercise before it hits peak AQI for the day thanks to the forecast reading. It works great on the Apple Watch with a nice little graph reading in the watch face.

Super useful!. With the current bushfires burning in Australia the smoke that has been around has made where I live the worst air in the world some days. This has been so helpful in planning simple things like going to the shops or when the windows can be opened for a short period.

Terrific app. I use this app daily to review the air quality in sydney since the smoke from the fires often sends ash and polluted air our way. I have been able to time my outdoor activity with the help of this app and feel so much more in control of the my life in this weather . I love being outdoors and have not wanted to compromise my health due to the air quality. I would recommend this app very highly. At least download it review it and then make a decision .

Great information. Was in desperate need to be able to understand the quality of the air to manage our everyday activities during this terrible bushfire season. The forecasting and monitoring gives the information needed to make better choices.

Really handy! A must have for your health and wellbeing. This app has really helped myself and my family while we have had quite several toxic air around, it’s great at keeping you informed when the big changes happen and you can check out just about anywhere in the world. Great work!

Every Aussie needs this app now !. This seems to be one of the better Air Quality apps if not the best one. Showing all regions of areas affected by current bush fires & recommendations eg wear mask, do or don’t exercise outdoors, risk to those sensitive to poor air etc. Great shows pollution numbers over Australia or any where in the World. Past & near future predicted pollution levels by 48 hrs or days. Even includes Street cams in cities so can see visibility levels. Great 👍🏼 Learnt by looking at the globe 🌍 other country levels. Unaware how bad Nth West Africa extreme pollution levels are ❗️Can even buy a device reads your air pollution levels inside and out & use it as a reporting station for your area to the app. 👍🏼(be better if it was bit cheaper though especially for other countries. )

Useful to know the air quality. Easy to check and trace

Air Quality App. Love the variety of places, accuracy and using the US AQI! Provinces like BC, with lots of cities require a lot of scrolling though, to get the data on the cities at the end of the alphabet, though! Great for my asthma, as I have a low threshold for an asthma attack due to forest fire smoke. I know when to wear a filtered mask, long before other apps advise caution outdoors!

Fabulous Resource. Living in British Columbia it’s always great to know what the air quality is in different parts of the province during the summer time with our unfortunate forest fires. This app also allows us to see how the air quality improves or otherwise during the day and helps us make decisions whether to go outdoors for strenuous activities or not based on the air quality

Easy to view. Like the visual aspect! Would like it up dated hourly during summer Wild Fire season:)

Great. It’s a great app no doubt. I wish then iPad version of the app would allow horizontal display.

Thank you. Shout out to developers

Good. Good App

Good app overall.. This AQ app is well laid-out and has good info and visuals. Also, air monitoring stations close by make it more relevant.

Great app. Amazing access to community air quality data.

Air Visual. Very helpful. Provides some peace of mind. Allows for decision making.

Lots of detail. I really love being able to see health-related air quality data so close to me. I can make better decisions about when to go out and when I might have to wear a mask.

Great. A must have

Used to be better.. I've relied on this app since mid-2020 but now I need to find another to use. It used to work better and be more accurate than it is now. It seems like they use user-generated data to report AQI now and it's rarely accurate. On days when I can distinctly smell wildfire smoke all day long and see a haze, the app reports good AQI, probably because Johnny down the street has a monitor set up inside and is providing inaccurate data to IQAir. Also, how is it possible that the AQI is "good" on my street and "unhealthy" two streets over? It's these kind of inaccuracies from their new data-generation system that have me searching for a new AQI app.

Fantastic!. Great application! Easy to keep track of air quality at multiple locations.

Problems, problems….. Lately I am receiving constant reminders about software updates on my device, despite several times going through the process. Opened case with Customer Service, they promised contact next day. Zero. Five days later still nothing. Not good. Disappointing experience.

Très utile surtout quand il y a des feux de forêts. Bravo

Provides a heads up. Can’t always tell in my immediate vicinity how clear, or not, it is once I’m out on my bike- this gives me the heads up I need to plan my day (bike or car, close/open the windows) so I don’t end up in the thick of it (I get a cough pretty quick when it’s a moderate or more day). Pretty damn sad that we need this in the world.

Great app!. Accurate and helpful, particularly with forest fires among us.

Amazing free tool. We have IQ Air purifiers but only discovered the app this year due to the forest fires. The crowd sourced meters are great and we have someone just a few blocks from us with one, which gives up accurate info to decide when to mask, or whether to take the kids out.

Very helpful!. In the BC wildfire season this app is very helpful and accurate!! Always good to know air quality.

Cycling healthy. As an avid cyclist I rely on the app to give me the most accurate and up to date air quality information for the specific area I am biking. It has been invaluable during the wildfire smoke incidences we have been experiencing here in Western Canada.

Great app!. I am a senior at 69. Poor air quality stuffs up my head and lungs. This past week, with the wildfires down in Washington State (Sept 2020) smoke has made it’s way into British Columbia here in Canada. We had planned an outing for the afternoon. On checking the AirVisuals with this app,we saw that the place with the most smoke and very poor air quality was where we had planned to go. Gas and driving time saved. As the day went on I could see on the map that the smoke shifted to different areas in our community, so we stayed inside to be safe. This app is invaluable, and the map is very cool too.

Air Quality. Excellent when looking at exercising indoors or outdoors for health reasons. Planning our day events this information is invaluable.

非常喜欢,很有用. 非常喜欢,很有用

超级好用. 世界各地的空气质量一目了然

Amazing. This app allows us to check the air quality and plan our activities while visiting Thailand. Our friends son’s activities are also a go or no go depending on the air quality on a regular basis to ensure it is safe.

⚠️ They Track You. They track you across apps and the web. Do you really trust a company that does that? See the App Privacy section of their App Store page for details.

Accurate, easy to use. I use this app to check air quality related to smoke from wildfires. It is specific to many different areas, and readings are submitted often. Very useful!

Great air quality app. reliable information that you can trust

Useful and informative. I use this app to plan my outdoor activities and exercise. It’s very reliable and seems accurate to the hour. I live in an area with very good air quality to begin with, so I tend to notice even small changes in the AQI. The app usually confirms them. I also enjoy the ranking features that show where in the World the AQI is problematic. I feel lucky to live in a place where the air we breathe is clean and clear. PK

Best ever on air quality near you. Get the apple

Vraiment bien fait comme application. Très utile pour déterminer la qualité de l’air à l’extérieur de la maison et ainsi controller l’apport d’air frais dans la maison seulement si l’air extérieur est bon.

Great. Good app for outdoor workers

Great app!. Very useful and precise.

Great tool. Using it to monitor air quality in a construction site. The ability to track and record and provide that your air quality is with in the parameters you agreed to keep. Any support needed IQ was there right away.

Air quality. Perfect to find out if jogging is safe today!

User friendly and reliable.. Detailed and assuring

Great Info. Love this app. This summer, with all of the wildfire smoke, it’s been a great tool to keep me safe. I have COPD.

Love it. Easy to use

Super helpful!. Especially when planning outdoor time activities, including work. Because of my allergies, my employer is impressed that I plan my workload well, as I am able to self accommodate solutions very quickly.

Well done iqair!. As a person who lives in a place with frequent wildfires in the summer who has severe COPD it has been great to be able to track the air quality near me. It helps me to determine when I should stay indoors. The app I used to use only reported air quality at the airport. This app has a monitor within one block of me and many more throughout the city. I have been recommending it to all my friends and acquaintances. Two thumbs up!

Works well. Nicely done. Navigation in the app works well. Visually appealing.

Good info on air quality.. helps you find the air quality for the location you will be at.

Helpful. I love that I can set threshold notifications for different locations.

Absolutely essential to my wellbeing. I use this app everyday, especially during fire season in the Okanagan Valley of BC, Canada, where I live. As an asthmatic with sarcoidosis, I depend on this app to give me the knowledge I need to protect my health.

Excellent App - Globe version of Map View broke. Recommend this app. The globe version of map view stopped working a few days ago. Hope it gets sorted. Excellent peace of mind with this app.

AirVisual. Application très utile et bien pratique.

Simple and it works.. Easy to use and app works well.

IQAir daily air quality reporting. IQAir app provides daily updates on air quality in my neighbourhood in a simple, easy to interpret report. I highly recommend it.

Thank you!. I downloaded this app because both my husband and my son have asthma and this app gives me another tool to help protect them. When the wild fire smoke hits hazardous we smell it and see it and know to close things up. When levels are unhealthy you can’t usually tell. Now we check the app before we hike or plan big outdoor activities. This has made a big difference in their quality of life because it gives us proactive measures to take and allows them to use their inhaler less.

Know the quality of your air. I suspected the pollution in Kathmandu was bad, but why it was so hard to exercise after Nepal lifted the lockdown? My nose was always running, eyes itchy and burning, my throat was chronically sore, my lungs were tight and I was coughing a lot. Some days I thought—do I have COVID-19? Nope, it was the pollution. I looked up the AQI in Kathmandu on one really bad day when the visibility was less than 100 meters: 607! That was an exceptional day but as I started to follow daily I saw the range was 140’s to 400’s on bad days. WHO recommends you start restricting your outdoor activities when it’s in the 100’s. Boston and NYC range between 30-50 to give you the range of a healthier city. When KTM started regularly hitting over 200 I moved. I cannot believe how much better I feel, no allergies, I don’t have to live with tissues within reach. Be savvy and protect yourself and those you love from poor air quality.

Good service; poor app. For starters, leaving feedback here because the leave feedback option in the app doesn’t take you to a place to leave feedback. That lack of attention to detail plagues the entire app. I frequently get nearby aqi alerts from place that both aren’t nearby and don’t have a high aqi level. On top of that, and possibly related, the app (with an active widget) chews up battery power way out of line with what action it performs. There appear to be no settings to customize any of this so you’re just stuck with the inaccuracy and waste if you choose to keep it installed. The website may be a better option.

Great app for planning my day. I recently moved to Long Beach and discovered my lungs do not like this area! For weeks I’ve been cycling to and from Long Beach to Seal Beach, walking my dog a couple times a day and just really enjoying the outdoors. My asthma, which hasn’t been triggered in years, hit me like a ton of bricks and landed me in the ICU for breathing treatments. Now I have a nebulizer and a respiratory mask! AirVisual has provided some great resources for me to plan out my days to minimize lung inflammation. Needless to say, this app has also encouraged me to move out of this area! I knew LA was bad, but I was blown away to see what horrible air quality levels Air Visual captures...its a major eye opener.

Pretty good overall with an issue. Works well to view status at various air sensors. Does not maintain ordering I set up - I attempt to put my home location at the top and the app always resets its position to the bottom after every app restart. Also home should be Home uppercase, lower case home looks ugly. The ordering bug has been there for years, this company never responds to any feedback questions or suggestions ever on any channel, don’t bother trying to contact them even if you’ve purchased a bunch of their products like I have.

Just the facts. I was so tired of searching site after site to try and find up today’s air quality information. Some sites were off or labeled as “not official”. I Am in California so between my allergies and fires this app tells it like it is. No fuss and easy to operate. Sure you can look outside and see if is Smokey or not but the question for me is how’s the air quality. I run businesses with outside dining so keeping my staff safe is important. If you want just the facts download the app now! Ps. It has other cool features as well...just like around and you’ll find em

Easy to read AQI. I have been trying out a few apps and this one seems to be the easiest when you want to know just the AQI. Seeing exactly where the readings are coming from and the last time they were updated is so necessary. I like that it gives specifics on what pollutant concentrations are. I can’t tell if these readings are accurate though since every other source of AQI shows different readings. But with the other sources I don’t know when the last time they were updated and the exact location of the readings. So I assume this is most accurate.

Valuable For keeping daily track of air quality. First time I used this , I knew it would help with my overall daily routine of getting outdoors and run my errands . I check on the air quality daily and it lets me know when I should limit my outdoor activities, I’m under a Doctors care for COPD , and this has been a very helpful tool in managing my breathing maintenance. I gave it a five star rate , because it enables me to see at a glance the air quality immediately, instead of waiting for the weather news on tv or radio . I recommend this app to everyone .

No homekit support, no landscape mode on iPad. If you use your iPad primarily in landscape mode (e.g. attached to a Magic Keyboard), be prepared for constant frustration, as this app forces portrait mode. There are no quick trips to this app to check a reading without the inconvenience. Ugh. Why why why is this not supported? It’s not like the app is visually dense or has some unusual layout that is impossible to imagine in a tolerable way in the landscape mode. Instead it is a hassle every time. Additionally, there is np HomeKit support, so when my cheapo old sensor failed, I get to look at stale/missing temp readings for my bedroom, even tough the data is there, inside of AirVisual, but the developers failed to add the HomeKit support. Please add it. Pretty please. And fix the landscape mode on iPadOS,. PLEEEEEEEASE for us humans!!!!!

Thank you!. It’s been very difficult to determine when it is okay to go running or even walking. This app has been my best choice to make the decision every day. My first app was way off the mark as my family pointed out. They use another app which is similar to this one. I use AirVisual as it provides the numbers and also what it means. It also allows me to check the many places I would like to go. After all, we cannot stay in our homes forever. Thank you!

Breathe easy. I started tracking the AQI during fire season while living in Southern Oregon, U.S. and I remember having to really work to find the information I needed. The IQAir app puts it all in one place and gives me what I need: how smokey is it outside of my house and/or where I’m headed? Sometimes the air can be rough and not smell bad to me and I’m glad to have an app that makes putting a number to it easier than just getting a headache after breathing outside for an hour.

Everyone should use this app!. Between COVID-19 and the California fires, we don’t know which way to turn. Smoke so thick that you can’t tell if is foggy outside or smoky without opening a window and smelling the smoke. I am so grateful for this app. I have been only using it for a few days, but it’s a keeper. Not only does it let me know the quality of the air around me, but it also predicts future air quality. I probably haven’t used it to it’s fullest capacity, but I am looking forward to seeing what more it will do. Very useful app!

Ideal tool for anyone with breathing issues!. I truly enjoy being outdoors - walking & playing with my dog, Clark Kent, including playing outside with my two beautiful grandchildren at community parks or backyard. Because I do have severe breathing challenges, I rely on AQI to prepare for my outdoors activities or avoid the elements as much as possible or altogether. This app is so simple but very detailed & educational. You funny have to be a scientist to use it; very well done with helpful graphics & fine details of our pollutants including toxic Chemtrail & weather modification aerosols!

Great resource. This app is very well designed. A lot of air quality monitor apps present a lot of information, but are not easy to navigate or understand. This app effectively presents the information so that you can easily perceive the air quality in your area, and which contaminants are active in the areas viewed. I also think it is exciting that you can connect a personal air monitoring device to the larger system and contribute data.

Great app. lots of useful info, watch app included!. With all the terrible air recently in the Midwest, I’d been looking into helpful apps for monitoring air quality. AirVisual provides lots of useful information that’s all neatly and logically arranged on screen. It has air quality forecasts as well to help plan for outdoor activities (most apps only show current info). It’s easy to add different locations, and I love the fact that the free version still provides an app for Apple Watch. Kudos to the developers for this great app.

Weird inaccuracies. So overall it’s helpful, but there are occasional weird inaccuracies. I’m in western Washington state where we have been inundated with forest fire smoke and much of the region has high pollution values. There is a random city near me (Issaquah, WA) that has consistently show very good values, even while surrounded by smoky areas. I contacted the company about it and they had some hard to decipher response but basically said that the Issaquah sensor is not measuring all pollutants. It wasn’t clear then as to how other sensors measure pollutants and how accurate any readings are. I would expect consistency, but it’s not happening. So take the readings provided for general guestimates only I guess...

Big help for those with asthma. This app has a wonderful interface which makes it incredibly easy to understand the quality of air around you. It plainly gives you the index right along with the forecast (which seems really accurate) and suggestions like to open or shut the windows, to minimize exposure outdoors, etc. this app is very clean and presents practical information. I enjoy it so much that I just purchased their personal indoor air quality monitor to help me better understand and control my indoor environment.

It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’m asthmatic and love to run around the park to keep me healthy and my asthma in control, however, I know that running in poor quality air will aggregate my asthma so looking at this app before deciding to go for my run has helped me control my asthma. I also love the fact that I can add other locations and check to see if they are less pollutes areas for me to go for my runs. I highly recommend the app for those interested in being more aware of your environment.

All the info you need. As a recent expat I wanted to try to make things as healthy as possible for my family. Air quality can be effectively controlled in your home but only if you know what you're dealing with. AirVisual lets you see what the outside air is and gives forecasts that I've found to be mostly accurate. When paired with an AirVisual node you can monitor your inside air quality as well and tailor your filtration plan accordingly. My only gripe is that you only get reports on outside air at 2 hour intervals while some other apps offer up to the minute results.

Alan. This could work well for some and it could get better, given time. But the UI is kluge and difficult and the app makes arbitrary choices, inserting “places” that it decides on. It took me 45 minutes to add a place. The help article stated it would be added “automatically “, but I had to eventually restart the app to make that work. Then the app inserted a new “place” at the top of my list and I had to move or remove it. The app incorrectly notes my home more than five miles away. No other app gets that wrong. Location services are on. Menu buttons on the bottom or top are not always visible, making navigating the app slower than it should be. How can this app know the air quality inside my home? I don’t think it does so I find indoor data misleading at best. Finally, at least for me, the data seems no more reliable or accurate than AirNow. That could change, but the average quality of data may depend on the density of points of collection.

One of my favorite apps!. Air Visual is a well thought out and essential app for helping you plan your day if you live in areas with good and not so good air quality. I’m in Northern California and bc of ALL the fires Air Visual has been extremely helpful in being up to date with our deteriorating air quality. It also has some fun or interesting features that allow you to get an idea of air quality around the world So right now our air quality is as bad as places in the world where they regularly wear masks. Thank you AirVisual for making this app!

Helpful during California wildfire. The app was very helpful during the devastating wildfires in California. We were able to know the level of air quality in the Bay Area which was heavily affected by the fires and knew when it wasn’t safe to be outside. The extra information given about the specific types of air particles was educational and easy to understand. I like the visual depiction of our air quality levels at a glance and to be able to know when during the day it would be safer to go outside and what the weekly outlook is.

Sports Mom 3. We live in the area of local owned, company owed , private owed, state owned and federal owed Forest Land. Second fire season in a row that we have had to keep track of smoke levels for air quality due to very large Fires burning in our area. It has to be at 100 QAI or lower for my 3 boys to be able to do outside sports. They all 3 run cross country and being able to breath properly is important. I’m on the app on smoky days at least 4-5 times a day checking the air quality. I love it so easy to use and set up to monitor the areas I want to.

Excellent in theory, crashes constantly. Every time you switch away from the app to write a text or answer a call or look at a different weather app, when you return to it, it crashes. Without this problem it’s excellent, but with it, the app is very frustrating, because obviously pollution levels are something you check throughout the day. Update: I wait to update to the current year’s version of iOS right up until the new iOS is released. Tonight after upgrading from 12.x to 13.7, I hoped the crashes on IQAir would improve. Instead they are much worse: the app is unusable now. You see an initial reading and any interaction at all crashes the app, as does no interaction but waiting about 5 seconds after opening.

Just moved to South Korea three days ago. And this app is literally saving my life. I had no idea the fine dust was such a big deal until I was sleeping with the window open and woke up short of breath. I downloaded this app and the air quality was purple, 230! I closed the window and now this is at the top of my widget list and checked constantly......really regretting moving here only because I didn't realize the fine dust was so bad here too...anyway for the next year, until the contract is up, this app will be my lifeline. Literally.

As Bob Dylan wrote.... ...”You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.” But you do need AirVisual to know if that air is breathable or not! We have been using AirVisual since fire season began with a bang this year. Its been an indispensable tool in knowing the AQI conditions throughout the Bay Area. It depends on the same data that PurpleAir is based on. The only problem is that you can’t change/implement the conversion formula of the non-professional readings generated by the sensors in your area. But for a ballpark read on the conditions, this app does the trick.

Good stuff!. Extremely helpful to keep tabs on hazardous air quality due to wildfires. I check this app a zillion times a day during the fire season. Love the map feature which is easy to manipulate & loads pretty quickly. Would like to see a more precise forecast feature on the main page, although the current forecast info seems pretty good. Also would love to see expanded readings for coastal areas which don’t have any info due to lack of data stations, I guess. I am inland, in a metro area so there’s a ton of available info, but no info for the entire coast of Oregon Highly recommended though.

Fire season air quality. I live in the San Francisco East Bay where we get heavy, choking smoke from fires that seem to rage every summer. I’m so glad that I recently discovered this app. Multiple fires are burning even as I write this and I’ve been checking Air Visual for my area multiple times a day to see if it was safe to go outside or to open the windows in our house. I saw people walking outside today for exercise and I thought if only they knew about this app, they’d know how very unhealthy the air was and would stay indoors.

Simply fantastic. It’s a great app that allows users to consume data in a easy to understand and useful form. As a suggestion, it would be nice to be able to track aqi over the years various months and years, as well as see averages for various times. Winter in Dhaka is always far more polluted than summer and having this option would better assist researchers and journalists trying to highlight the problem. While the data exists, AirVisual has a way of making it easy to consume. Overall a great app that everyone I know in Dhaka checks daily.

Emurar. Your website is greatly helpful to monitor the air quality where ever and when ever I plan to spend time. I have been living in CA for about 26 years and never bothered about to check air quality as it was always very good. Now it is no more like in the the good old days. Every summer the burning of forests in massive scale in CA now has brought a new normal and people are greatly concerned about their health. Web sites like yours is very helpful. Please keep the good work and try to report as accurately as possible. Thanks.

Very Impressed. I just found and installed this app in August, due to wildfire smoke. I am very sensitive to the smoke and monitored my outdoor activity by it. I do not have any other gauge to compare this app to, but even when this app showed down to yellow, and other people thought the air was clear in comparison to when the air was red, purple or maroon...I could still feel the smoke in the air. With that, this app seems spot on to me! I also like being able to see the global air quality as well. It always worked when I went to it!

So helpful!. This app lets me know local air quality in more-or-less real time. It was so important to me during the wildfires here in California to know when the pollution was accumulating and I needed to close up the house and wear a mask if I went outside. Sometimes it’s hard to see PM levels visually, so I really rely on this app to let me know what’s up. Even now without the huge fire complexes it’s good to know because there can be fluctuations. I’m very appreciative to the app developers and all the people responsible for the monitoring!

Just what I needed!. For those of us with asthma or COPD checking the air quality index is as necessary and frequent as checking the weather. AirVisual is much easier than looking up data on the web. Its predictions for four times during a day help plan activities. The app uses data from the nearest monitor near me so helps me be aware of differences within the city as I move about. The listings for cities around the world remind me that my struggle to breathe is only my glimpse of what millions are enduring with a problem we must address.

Washington Fires. This app has helped me determine the air quality in the PNW and has been very accurate. The smoke in this area has been out of control due to fires and I’m seeing respiratory and health issues in my clinic population as a result. I’ve been taking trips to areas showing better AQI scores and it’s been helpful to find places with a bit more fresh air. I’m suggesting this app to everyone since the Apple weather app is not reliable as far as air conditions go.

Air Quality. I use this app because I feel it’s more accurate than local news. Local news apps always has the air quality rated better than this app. I believe it’s not in the best interest of the economy to tell people how bad the air quality actually is. The other day air quality was dangerously high & our city still had outdoor sports games & said it wasn’t that bad. The air was filled with smoke from wildfires so it was clearly unhealthy. This app lets me see in real time the quality of the air.

Asthma! Very helpful in Northern California. I have asthma and I wish I had this app last year during our Santa Rosa fire. It’s tragic to say I find it useful today as the near-by Butte Cty “Camp Fire” rages on. The data is reliable and it’s a great asthma management tool. Having the AQI rating appear on the app on the home page of my iPhone is a great. But even better is that it’s also an Apple Watch app so I can view it on my watch. Wish it were an Apple Watch complication. I would load it on the watch face. Maybe a future enhancement? Love the maps.

Good current info, horribly inaccurate forecasts. The app will tell you when the air is bad currently, but its forecasting seems completely disconnected from reality. It will pretty much always tell you that the air will get cleaner later in the day or tomorrow, even when other forecasters, and common sense of my experience tell you it won’t. I live in Salt Lake City , and during the winter we get poor air when there is no wind or weather system passing through. The local forecast can accurately predict when these systems will occur and clean the air. However, AirVisual seems to always say the air will get better tomorrow, even when no weather is coming for a few days.

Free, easy to use, seems very accurate. We’re having severe air quality issues here due to rampant wildfires all around us, so I downloaded this app after the first air quality app I tried kept giving me results for Yakima, WA (although I tried to change the setting multiple times, it was stuck there - and I live in Oregon) This app is much easier to use and updates frequently. It’s very handy for deciding when it’s safe to go out and walk my dogs, ride my bike, etc.

8 weeks in & so far so good!. The biggest surprise has been learning about the positive components of the air quality in my area. LA is notorious for smog, etc, so I have relied heavily on this app for my daily planning. Obviously w covid19, many people who would normally drive for work etc aren’t using their cars so much, so that’s a huge factor in the better air quality. But nevertheless, this remains super helpful for managing my asthma symptoms. It also has generally helped to make me a more aware citizen in terms of my own carbon footprint. Highly recommend the app.

App doesn’t get basic functionality right. The service behind AirVisual is decent, but basic functionality in the app is broken. For instance, take a look at the map one day, and then look again the next day, and all the data will simply be out of date. Zoom and scroll, and newly loaded stations will have up to date numbers, but others will still be wrong. The UI has also been redesigned so that the lost of your own sensors is basically useless. You have to open each one individually to see anything more than a colored dot indicating air quality. This app represents the worst trends in modern design. It looks pretty at a glance, but it seems that no one on the development team ever tried actually using their own app.

Thanks! It’s a MUST HAVE app!. I just moved to Salt Lake City and had no idea the air quality (especially in the winter) was so poor. I wondered why when I’d go for a run I’d cough, sneeze and get a terrible headache. Now I know and can monitor/limit my outside activities when the air quality is going to affect me. This app gives me notifications (YAY!😃) when they air quality changes, is super easy to read and also lets me see days in advance so I can better plan. It’s a must get for those living in poor air quality areas or those susceptible to reactions.

In-app notifications won't clear. The app appears to still need a lot of work. Do the owners use this app? We have had fires recently andi downloaded to get an idea of what the air quality index is. However, I keep getting notifications asking me if I want to learn whether or not fires are getting worse. These notifications are ridiculous and even if you clear them, they reappear almost immediately and constantly. There's not even a setting change turn this off. Disabling "Smart Alerts" doesn't turn off the notifications. I receive these notifications literally every few minutes.

Every person should have this. With the levels of air pollution in our world, and climate change already having disastrous effects, every person should be wary of the AQI where they live and where they travel. When I went to school in CA everyone downloaded this app because the fires made the air toxic to breathe is most places and staying inside was critical. With the Oregon Fire air blowing across the country, this app and its easy use could save lives of older, asthmatic, or otherwise less immune folks.

IQAir – I’ll change this to a 5-star review if…. I love this app! I use it constantly. I live in the Rocky Mountain West in a ski town, so this app is vital for forest & woodland fires, or the occasional inversions that hold in human-created pollution. But this app DOESN’T SUPPORT LANDSCAPE MODE on tablets. Nor on a phone for that matter. I have mounted an older iPad on the wall mostly as a photo album slideshow viewer during gatherings. And this is THE ONLY APP that forces me to turn my head cockeyed to try to read the info. So, IQAir…If you update this app to support landscape mode on at least tablets / iPads, the. I will change this to a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review. Do we have a deal?

This app is great!. The information about air quality is available but it used to take a lot of work to find and interpret, AirVisual takes that away and makes it a one click event. I often plan my day around the information. An example-While recently traveling to Bogota I learned the air pollution was spiking over night, each night while I was there. I moved my exercise from early morning to early evening and avoided massive exposure. I am healthier because of it.

I really want to have this app.... I want to be able to monitor the air quality for the sake of my child (who has a chronic condition) to aid in deciding if we do outdoor or indoor activities. I really was hoping this app would work, but there are FAR too many times it will say it’s a green air quality day with little or no particulate concerns when in reality it’s an orange or red air day. For example today there is literally ash falling from the sky as a result of a near by wildfire....and the app says it’s a Green Day with only 11 US AQI. If I look it up on a trusted web site it says it’s a red air day with 191 AQI. Since I can physically see particles in the air and even indoors can only smell smoke, I’m sure you can understand which one is the accurate one. I’ve officially given up on this app as I obviously can’t trust it.

Best out of the 4. When Portland, OR started getting bad smoke filled skies, I noticed these AQI numbers coming up on a few of my apps. I decided to research it, and comparing the values from where I lived in my city. I first looked in the app site for an AQI app that was free, but wasn’t annoyingly bugging me with adds. I found that this app was better rated then the EPA Airnow. The apple map app started showing the AQI value when you clicked on it & it located your phone. Also, I use the Weather Channel app for my local weather and they also were starting to give me my AQI reading for the city of Portland in general. I really like this app. Couldn’t tell you how accurate the values are, but I did use all 4 of them the 1st couple of weeks to average them out. You are able to put numerous areas/cities on & scroll through them. Overall, I’m glad that I got it. (Oh, the 4 star rating is that they’d like you to buy the monitor for more on site accuracy values. I didn’t want to do that)

Sorry to need it but glad it’s there!. This app is a handy and convenient way to check your air when that becomes necessary. I can see it’s smokey outside on my own, but having the rating lends weight, objectivity, and a sense of whether we are headed for a clearing or bogged in for a long haul. The only points for improvement: it isn’t in sync with AQI-US, which is typically lower in its rankings leaving one to wonder which data to trust. Also, given how much AQ can vary in even short distances, it would be nice if it were easier to check the air in areas not included in the list of cities and not very close to the cities that are listed.

Easy, informative, pretty precise. Why buy an app when you can get an air quality reading from the weather channel and local resources galore? It seems to me that all these sources have different numbers. That’s understandable when you don’t know where the measurement is taking place. AirVisual has given me several places in my small city and I can choose the one closest to me. Plus I can look at how the air quality varies from place to place. Day-to-day air quality seems to have the most reliable numbers. Of course I’m no expert. I like the ease, speed, and clarity I get with air quality.

Help you to breathe better. This app is useful just to get information about the air quality in your area. It is based on collaboration of people who own the sensors and share the measurements publicly. If you own the sensor, it is even more useful. You can get the exact info from the sensor about air quality: pollution/particles, smoke, CO2 and of course temperature and humidity. You quickly learn when to close windows, when to open them to get fresh air, when to turn on fans, AC or heating. I am impressed!!!
