Good but hard. This would be the best game ever if not for the fact that I literally cannot get past level 7 and it makes me wanna never play this game again, as with other games when I get to a hard level. I'm just sad it hard to happen so soon.

Good Game. I like it and maybe on another update for the app, it should include more minor bug fixes. Includes the iOS 12 and over bug fixes. Because it’s been five years since you did not update the app!

Really Fun... VERY FRUSTRATING!!!. I’m only up to level 7. It makes you want to scream... because you get SOOO close to completing the level, and then you die. But, it’s really kept my interest and I keep going back to try and try again! Most games that frustrate me like this, I give up on. This one is cute and a great little game!! You need great reflexes and PATIENCE lol

For the most part, great. Quick Summary: It's probably their most aesthetically pleasing game... ever. The gameplay is interesting and fun, but the emphasis on completing levels in the shortest amount of time possible just isn't rewarding, I was expecting a 3 star reward system, collecting stars throughout the environment. Download this game!

Brilliant. Nitrome is a consistently excellent developer and Beneath the Lighthouse is a prime example of that. This looks, sounds and controls great on my iPad and there is brilliant level design and clever variety throughout. Just finishing a level can be quite challenging at times and getting a medal (by finishing the level within a set time) can be excruciating. Regardless of the difficulty, I seldom found things to be frustrating as it was usually a matter of finding the right approach and being patient. While the free to play elements seemed non-intrusive I found that purchasing the full game was worthwhile and made beating the more difficult levels much more obtainable. I do wish there was some Game Center leaderboard support here, but otherwise this is pretty much gaming perfection!

Pretty good but one major complaint. I try to play my music while I play but every time I try it pauses my music and plays the game audio. I tried to mute the game and just play the music but that still didn’t work and I still couldn’t listen to my music while I played the game.

Perfect mobile game. Beautiful artwork, great sound, simple one finger interaction designed specifically for mobile, simple and charming story, more than fair price and IAP - this is exactly what the App Store needs more of. I didn't need to buy this but I have because we don't need another candy crush clone, we need games like this! The nods to Wind Waker don't hurt either ;)

It's good, but... I really like the game, and the concept as well, but I can't stand the controls. I always mess up and die turning the wheel. Can there be an option where holding one side of the screen make it tilt one way and holding the other side makes it tilt the other way? That would help me a lot

Too Frustrating..... I love this game and I think it's Really cool looking, but some of the later levels like around 19 to 40 are really hard. There is the skip option but it only shows once, can you guys make it so that the skip button can be selected from the setting menu in the game? Plz!! Why are you complaining?. Firstly, why are all of you guys complaining? Game runs absolutely brilliantly for me, no glitches or crashes. Lots of people are saying you can't skip the intro or it crashes right after, hell I skipped the intro on accident. Dunno if you guys are using older devices, read the list. Using iPad Air 2, iOS 9.1

Can't get it to work. I've downloaded it five times, and still the same results. It won't work. All I can do is watch the opening cutscene, then it imedeitly crashed.

Great game. At first it wouldn't let me skip the first into part but then I noticed that I had to hold down the letters instead of just tapping it so I was like OMG it works then I started playing and it was a super fun game and I love it so much and it is kinda challenging so it is like even better!!!! I rate 4/5 because it was hard to know you had to hold down the skip button at the beginning!

GREAT GAME.. This game is amazing. It is one of the most creative and innovative game i have played. The little guy is super cute and i love the level design. I'm only on level 33 so i don't know how many levels there are, but it seems to be a lot. I extremely recommend this game.

Crashes after the Intro. This app sounds like so much fun and I was so excited when I downloaded it. I open it up and I watch the intro, and it goes black and returns me to the home screen. sometimes it even freezes on the ending and it continues to play the ocean noise. I've tried to skip it, which it will only let me do sometimes, but the same thing happens. I've redownloaded it several times, but the same results occur. I will get it when it is updated, because I can't even get to the beginning of the game. ☹️

Absolutely Beautiful and Haunting. I love this game so much!! Such a unique look and easy (but interesting) gameplay. Up to about level 18 and still intrigued by the variety of obstacles. WARNING- it is quite scarring when the bomb in level 17 hits the character after it laughs. (because the laugh is that of a 7 year old.) (and it gets hit by a bomb.) GREAT APP!!

Does not work on iPhone 4s. As the title says, it does not work on my phone. I hit the start button, but the game freezes upon the appearance of the skip button. The sound is just ocean noises, nothing more. I would have done this via app support, but nothing happened when I hit the link.

Just wanna play my music. This is a really cute and clever game! What gets me most annoyed though is when I try to play music in the background and the game pauses my music to play its audio. The ads are really obnoxious but I guess it's worth it. Well other then those grievances this is a really creative and interesting game!

Very Sweet Game. This was a nice game. Even though the story’s pretty simple and most of it is just gameplay, it really felt a lot more touching than most mobile games.

Great game! Just a few bugs. This is truly a awesome puzzle game with great music and great gameplay! The only problem is the beginning cutscenes is just blue and when you die, and you turn into the triangle thing, you don't turn back to normal and your only option is to restart. Apparently, the puzzle you tilt has to be centered the way you started the level. That's pretty difficult to do when you can't tilt it back when you die, like I said before the only button you can hit is restart or quit. Other than that it's a great puzzle game and it's been a while since an awesome idea like this has come to the App Store! Good job!

Should be a five-star game.... I would give this game five stars, except their ads are so insanely intrusive and awful that I can't play more than one level without wanting to murder whomever approved the ad scheme. Basically, you'll be at a critical point in a dynamically changing level, and it flashes to an ad. You then have to dismiss the ad and press the play button, but if you've just made a big move (or really anything's going on other than just standing still) it's impossible to remember quite where you were, so you get killed and have to go back to the beginning. I know these folks are trying to make a buck, but for god's sake, don't ruin your gameplay experience to do it! I'm uninstalling now!

Okay. I would have 5 stared it but I downloaded it and it was going good until the fourth day and it said it was waiting.......so I left my phone came back 7hours after and it said the same thing so I deleted it and then downloaded it again so whenever I go to play it it turns off my phone and it keeps playing that video of the beginning over and over again wouldn't recommend it but you try and see what it is like😆👌🏾!!!!!!!!!!!

Did not work!. I was excited as I went into the app everything was fine I pressed the play button and it shows you the intro so I watched it and then at the end it just stopped and didn't respond so I got off the app went back on but this time I pressed the skip button to skip the intro and the whole screen went white then black and it went to home! And I keep trying but it does the exact same thing! I can't even play this app!

This game is insanely difficult but awesome!. I really only downloaded this game thinking it would be very similar to monument valley. Yet, it's nothing like monument valley. ALTHOUGH, it's still super amazing and I LOVE it. I love the graphics and the art style in this game. Not only that but, I love how each level has its own challenge to it. While it gets harder and harder each time you pass a level, and in my opinion I think that's what makes a game fun and not boring! Besides the gameplay, I love the little dude. He's the reason why I resist from breaking my phone each time I have to replay a level. Yes, it's hard and gets annoying when adds pop up. But, it's worth it. And even if the story to this game is very cute and odd it's definitely different from all the rest of the games out there. I will continue to play this game because I want earn all those gold medals! Must download. If not, your missing out. 😏

Challenging But Not Too Challenging. I loved the design of this game. It was incredible. The colors. The sounds. The characters. It was amazing. The only design aspect that I despise is when it flashes or blinks white every time you "die". Besides that, the puzzles were great. You really had to learn through trial and error. Great game, issues with sound. As expected from Nitrome, the gameplay is perfect. BUT, when i'm playing something on my phone i usually listen to music via iTunes, but when you open the game, it absolutely over-rides iTunes, and where i would find iTunes in the control panel, is now Beneath the Lighthouse. Definitely not a big issue, but i would love to see a fix for this soon!

The graphic and effects. I love this graphic is sow real and beuttifull the screams ,music , and nature effects are super cool and look real . I recommend you to rate 5 stars I love those game and the puzzles are some times hard but is lots of fun.👍🏻😄😍

AMAZING!!!!!. One of the best games ever. It has a familiar mechanic, but where other games have you spin your Device around(which is annoying, dizzying, and a danger to your device if you drop it) this just uses a single finger to maneuver. The idea is to get from the entrance to the exit by spinning the level clockwise and counter clockwise. In your way, There are spikes, falls, sliding boxes(some with claws), rolling balls(some with spikes), water levels that make you float which aid or hinder your progress, boxes that will block your path or protect you and are activated only while your finger is pressed, moving windmills, level that rotate back when you lift your finger and many combinations of these elements, and i havent even completed it yet! Super addicting! Super fun! Super clever! A mind bending(but not impossible) action puzzler!!! Pure genius.

Amazing. I just played few levels the game looks amazing with beautiful animations and soundtrack it's really sad to ruin this game with these reviews, perhaps it's not working properly on older devices but it works really fine on 6s they'll probably fix all the bugs wait for it guys the game is very good.

Great fun. This is one of my new favorite games. It offers greats puzzles that are very difficult and rewarding when you complete. Some of them are really really hard and you get stuck on them but you eventually get them and it's very satisfying.

Bad Gameplay. Neat idea, great art, but the control are horrendous and frustrating. Should have spent more time on the most important element of gameplay rather than refining appearance.

Almost perfect. This game has great audio, great visuals, and great puzzles. But I do have a complaint. I'm playing this game on a tiny iPhone with fingertips the size of an eraser. I can't even see the puzzles! I think a wheel or something should be put on the side for us to control so we can still see the puzzle.

Stupid ads. They won’t close even after 15 seconds of frantically tapping “CLOSE”.

Satisfyingly tricky. This game is one of the best! It is very addicting but easy to pick up or put down. The puzzles are clever and fun to solve. Some are down right hard, but not impossible. I yelled out loud in triumph on more than one occasion after completing an especially tricky room. I suggest this game!

Would be good, but.... Don't get me wrong, this game has plenty of potential. The art is pretty, and the developers have the ocean feel down. But that's as far as the good times go in this game. The puzzles are tedious and not fun to play. The heart system is at first okay, but gradually becomes annoying. And do NOT get me started on the ads. Although many are skippable, they are very annoying. I am NOT paying four bucks to remove ads on any game, especially a tedious one like this. Although the game is free, I would still rather get something else.

Try it free. This game isn't my cup of tea, but it plays well. Most importantly, the devs let you try it free so I didn't need to pay out to discover that this game isn't for me. Bravo. I wish there were more opportunities to try before you buy on the App Store.

Flawed. Great game, but it glitched out on level 40. Now, the screen wont spin no matter how many times i restart or reselect the level. Even if i play from level 39 back to level 40, the screen wont spin. I deleted the game. Glad i didnt buy it.

Beautiful, clever, fun and challenging. Overview: I'm a sucker for pixel art and this game delivers. The game art is pretty, dynamic and retro. Gameplay is quite smooth, physics are quite good, and level design is clever and difficult. Pros: Pretty | challenging | unique controls | sounds aren't annoying | good amount of levels Cons: Physics could be tweaked to make things a little more fluid, but that's more a question of personal preference. Conclusion: A great, solid game that is both challenging and rewarding—both while you play and when you win. Exactly what I was looking for.

Great Game. Wow, what an amazing game. The settings and colours are genuinely really good. I still have iOS 6 and there is a massive glitch in my game. Every time I run out of life's it freezes, stops and takes me back to my home screen, glitching every time I die. This is really annoying and if you could please fix this on your next update that would make this game 5 stars. But other than that it is such an awesome game!!

Too many ads. I remember when this was a free web game and I am not paying $5.49 for no ads. $2? Let’s talk. Otherwise, warning: 100% of players bombarded with ads about toenail fungus every time they die are gonna uninstall your played out game.

Fun game!. I'm not sure how this has no reviews. It's has great graphics which remind me of "Fez" for PC. It did show as a result while looking for Fez but this is a nice game. It's a little expensive to unlock the full version but it doesn't seem too bad to play with ads on. This was a good find. I highly recommend it.

This is a stupid pattern that needs to be stomped out forever... I've deleted your cute game and paid (up front) for a great substitute that has no in-app purchases. Do not load this app... It is a waste of your time. One star is one too many.

Fun game but.... The sound doesn't work. I don't know if it's my phone or if it's just the game because it doesn't play the sound when I play other games either. But when I play videos and music on other app the sound works.

Good but buggy. It's a fun game just a little buggy. For me it has a bug where if you die it doesn't let you respawn but you hurst remain as a floating spinning triangle and are frozen until you close the app.

Ads.. The ads are annoying.

Oh the ads!. Free with ads or in-app purchase to remove the ads. Both are reasonable, but the implementation of ads is horrid. As such I can't play enough without getting extremely irritated by the ads to know if I'd want to pay for anything.

Very addicting. So the last thing I needed was to download yet another game. But I decided to try it. I tried it once. I was hooked! Not at all boring.

Unplayable. Seems a lot of people are having problems. I love nitrome; I've followed the team for years so of course I downloaded this as soon as I saw it. However, the skip button doesn't work and the game freezes and forces quits at the end of the long cutscene.

Much crash, no play. I love nitrome and used to play your flash games when I was a kid but after the intro boat. Idea the screen turns white and crashes to home screen. Nice music though

Great game, but ads get in the way.. Supporting free gameplay with ads is normally okay, but in a game where precision control is required, they shouldn't pop up in the middle of a level. It ruins the experience. Ads should either be between levels only or there shouldn't be a free version of the game.

Bugged crap. The intro was nice, but I wish there was more to the game than just that. The intro is unskippable and the app just freezes and refuses to continue once it gets to the end. Don't get this unless you feel like watching your phone sit still and do nothing for hours

Best game of 2015!. I love the concept of the levels, graphics and art style is wonderful! Great game! 10 out of 10

Meh. First let me say that i am a huge fan of Nitrome, I think they make great mobile game, but this game isn't that great. It doesn't have that fun addictive feel that their other games have, and it really doesn't make me want to come back and play it.

what I think of the character. Ok this is a great game and I love the art style and and another thing this what I think about the character you play as so your lonely boy probably have no friends because he was all alone when he was the boat and I think the boy is bullied and so every time he gets bullied and I think his parents aren't always there for him so he gets on his boat to clear his mind and I think a storm started and the boy lost his way home and he found a island with a light house and so I think he goes to the island to see if anyone is in the light house that can help him and I think when he went to the light house he fell through a trap door and that's when his journey begins and why I think this is because when you first start the game he's falling and I think he's trying to find his way out but I may be wrong he may not be bullied and he may be taking lessons on sailing and as he was sailing a storm started or he lost control and helps this way or he ran away because he was bullied and his parents were not there for him so he got on his boat to escape from everything and everyone but he gets lost but he gets lost and finds a island or he doesn't get lost and he finds a island and so he decided to go the the island and live on it so he went on the island and found a light house and so he probably wanted to see if anyone was there but he probably fell through a trap door but I may be wrong or I may be right well I never now if I'm right but don't listen to me and this is a great game and this is why I want to make games because I get to make my own story my own character and one of these day you probably will see a app on here that I made but I would make a game that goes deep and is filled with feeling and I would make a game that would make someone think about other people instead of themselves but I do like this game and keep up the work your doing a great job and you know the lethal at made this game you Did a wonderful job and keep up the work.

Simply fantastic.. This game is so ingenious! I constantly fall in love with the visuals and gameplay and each level offers opportunity for new strategy.

Read this ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️. This game is pretty fun…but some of the levels are freaking hard!!! It makes me want to break my phone I am currently on a level that is IMPOSSIBLE every time I actually get close to the door, the bomb blows me up Fun!! Not I'm thinking of deleting this game 🤐😵
