Great Update!. What a great update! Artgig Studios has really outdone itself this time. I love being able to add my own words to this app. I have actually added a list of German words to help my son learn some German before we travel this summer. Helps him learn and me, too, as I put the words in with proper pronunciation and spelling. I also appreciate the hints provided if you pick the wrong letter. The app gives you 2 chances to find the right letter to complete the word before giving you the hint (a shadow of the letter needed in the proper space). Thanks, Artgig, for making spelling fun! @jennings_nancy

Make More Spelling Games!. This app is amazing and so needed. It allows you to add your own words and record them too. I would love to see more levels added or more spelling Apps from your company. My children found it engaging although they are older than its target audience.

Amazingly Fun App for Learning Sight Words!. Mystery Word Town - Sight Word Spelling is a truly fun way for kids to work on spelling a host of sight words. In the latest app from Artgig Studios, children can create their own avatar, and go from one building to another, searching for gold as they gather letters needed to fill in the missing letters of words! There are three difficulty levels to choose from, and in the first level the app offers a visual prompt for the missing letters. Also, you can choose to have the word spoken aloud, which makes it a bit easier. The child must spell all the words needed in one location, and find the gold, before moving on the the next. The graphics and animation in the app make working on sight words fun! With talking portraits and a wild west theme, kids will truly enjoy the app. Also, multiple users are supported. I highly recommend this app. There are no ads or IAPs, and all external links are secured.

Amazing. I love this app. Spelling is a struggle for my son, but to add his school list and let him record the words in his own voice is a sneaky way to add extra practice. And he does moan when asked to play using a school list because it is so much fun!

Great App.... My kids, 5&7, downloaded this app last night because they liked the horse picture. After they started playing the realized they needed to spell to play it. Fortunately we have been working on words and they were excited to answer most of them. We all sat at the table and played together for a few hours! They loved it! The first thing they did this morning was go right back to this game! An app that can teach my kids a life skill and make it fun at the same time is a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Great job whoever you are!

Great Spelling app. This is a fun and educational game. I love the talking character in the pictures. You collect letters as you go through the game to spell the words. You collect gold in each spot to catch the most wanted. My daughter really seemed to enjoy this. I love games that She Can have fun and enjoy and learn at the same time. It's nice that we can make the levels harder as time goes on. Definitely a great educational app. I am glad I can find one for her age.

Just what my son needed. My son is finishing kindergarden soon and since he is the youngest in his class most of the other kids are ahead of him in reading and spelling. The teacher keeps telling us that we need to practice with him more and we do but he struggles. We picked up a few apps and this one is his favorite. He is engaged with it the most. We did a few tests using pencil and paper with similar words that appear in the app and there's already a noticeable improvement. I highly recommend this app!!

Fun to play with my daughter. This game is a little advanced for my 5 year old to play on her own but it is fun to play together. She likes collecting the letters & we can review the sight words she's learning in school.

6 year old loves it!. My 6 year old absolutely loves the game. It has some challenging words for him and others are easy; so I think he’s the perfect age for it. We let him play iPad while we take a shower, and the last 3 days, it’s the only one he’s played!!

No sound. This app would probably be good if it had sound. Not very helpful for spelling if no one can hear what word to spell...

Teacher. Mystery Word Town is a great app for working on students spelling and reading skills. It gradually gets more difficult for students. The levels are fun and challenging and my kids enjoy playing it.

Short game. This game was short. Our child completed it in an hour. It’s definitely not $4 worth of content.

Another winner. There are so many edu apps in the App Store that it's hard to get excited for them any more. I have started judging them by whether or not my kids like them. I had to take my son to the doctor the other day. While waiting for the doctor to come in I noticed that he was playing Mystery Word town. He had even typed in his own set of words to spell. He was choosing to play a spelling game without being forced to play. That tells me that this app is not only good but great! It's easy to set up & customizable.

Guess the missing letter game, not spelling. This app might be appropriate for a beginner reader/speller, but it was much too easy for my second grader. You only need to fill in 1-3 missing letters from a word, not spell the entire word. My daughter finished the whole thing in 1 1/2 evenings. I know you can add your own words, but what’s the point if you don’t actually have to spell the whole word? This should really be stated in the description. It’s a fill in the missing letter game, not a spelling game. The graphics are great, but I bought this to help my daughter with spelling (she tests below grade level, so it’s not a case of my kid just being too advanced)

Excited to Share Mystery Word Town with My Students!. I teach third grade, and I think this will be a great app for my students. I love that I can differentiate the word lists, and I like how you can choose to hear the specific word or just create your own words with the letters that show up. This app requires problem solving, accessing memory, and word study skills...all of which are important skills to practice. I also love the graphics and the humor embedded. Great Job!!!

Sight Word Mystery Solved. Colleagues and friends are always asking me, "Do you know of any good sight word apps?" And I've struggled with an answer. Either they are too easy, too hard, or simply BORING. Mystery Word Town is none of these. I find it to be Just Right for my first grade learner and am excited that it will grow with him. I love how you can adjust the word list level and remove audio hints to provide a challenge. I also love the "spell your own" option to encourage word building skills. Teachers, know that you can have multiple players play on a single device. Win! Artgig has done its homework!

Great app for my 6 year old!. This app is great! My son is in 1st grade and this game is perfect for him. It helped him with his sight words and now it is helping him great time with his reading levels. He loves it and mommy loves that he spends his screen time learning!

Best spelling app ever. The built in words are great, but you can add your own words too. And it's set up so you can't put in repeats. Because it's leveled, it will grow with my two young girls. It's fun and challenging and keeps my 6 year old engaged in learning to spell the endless lists of sight words that come home in elementary school.

good for 2nd grade and up. This program is great for 2nd grade and up. My son loves the concept of the game that is easy but its not really made for new learners. Your not able to customize more simple words and it doesnt teach the child the words. It lets them guess each word but doesnt teach them to learn it and it goes so fast when you pick the right letter. Graphics are great and keep it interestering.

Very Engaging. Both grandkids have a great deal of trouble spelling. They are ages 10 and 7. The 10 year old is at the upper range for this game EXCEPT he can enter words of his own choice. He has chosen to play this game over all the others he has available! This is a HUGE win. The 7 year old finds the preset word list most appropriate. Bring on additional spelling games!

Boring. It’s boring

Sight word fun. My son is just finishing kindergarten where he had to learn 46 sight words. I love all of the words included and the fact that he begged for more iPad time to practice. Engaging and I liked seeing the list of words so I could work with him on the ones he didn't know. Great app to prevent the summer "slide"

Very Engaging!. My 11 year old daughter who has autism and ADHD was engaged for a good 20 minutes exploring Mystery Word Town and spelling words to unlock doors and windows, gather gold and catching bad guys! She didn't even realize she was practicing spelling! And I was impressed by how many words she knew! I explored the app myself as well and discovered that there are 3 levels and all of them are have customizable word lists (with an audio feature that can be recorded also) that can be created by an adult, or even the student themselves. I like the audio feature also that can be turned on or off. The only thing that caused a slight problem was I accidently went into a building that had already been completed and couldn't get back to the home screen or any other features. So I had to delete the app and reinstall it. If it wasn't for that, Mystery Word Town, would've gotten 5 stars!

Great intro to sight words. Update: The new word recording feature is great. My son cracks up when I add random silly words and voices to his list of regular ones. My 4yo isn’t reading or spelling yet, but he knows his letters so he’s able to play with help from the hints (or mom and dad). He loves going from room to room exploring and looking for gold. From my perspective, the game gives him some early exposure to common sight words, which is great.

Math Fun!. As an SLP, this app is great fun for my students! Entertaining and engaging, my students didn't realize they were working on spelling skills! Love the graphics, characters, and the letter hunts! Students will love searching for gold and making words with the sounds they find! Great for use with multiple students! Excellent educational app! I can always trust Artgig Studio to deliver quality educational apps!

Great app!. Artgig makes wonderful apps that are creative and entertaining for kids. This app is no exception! Wonderful game that kids enjoy while learning. As an SLP and a mom of young kids, I would highly recommend this app for enhancing reading and spelling skills.

Entertaining and Immersive. This is a great app for immersing learners in a spelling environment while providing interesting characters and illustrations. I love that this app doesn't use spelling as an afterthought in mini-game form. Instead, the spelling is integral to game play. Custom settings for ability also make the game accessible for a greater range of learning and keep it from being a one-time game play. Nice job.

Best word app ever. This is an amazing word game for all ages. Great word ranges for different levels. We can try and guess the word or listen to the word then try and spell it. Mother of two, and I can't stop playing with the youngest. He is learning how to read and what a fun way to do so. This is a great app for additional extra curriculum activity, along with its sister app Mystery Math Town. The developer has done great in the educational apps department and I can't wait to see what they do next

Favorite reading app so far. My son is 9, autistic, and a very reluctant reader. He is put off by "little kid" reading apps, but also by no frills flash card types. This one hits the sweet spot. It keeps him motivated. I like that it has three levels. You get a lot for your money with this one. Well done!

How the west was won. What better place for a little ghost than an old western ghost town. Love the theming in this clever spelling app. The word lists and ability to create your own are great as they cover the basics plus a few extras that are just good words to know how to spell. The choice of hearing the word or having to read it is a plus as well. My child loves hearing his own voice read the words. It just is so much better than writing words ten times or spelling trees. Looking forward to adding it to the mix this school year.

Great App. This app makes learning spelling fun. My daughter loves going through the different buildings while learning her spelling words. And I love that you can add your own word list.

Cute customizable game. My child really enjoyed being able to customize their person and name at the start of the game. It's easy to use and gives clues if you sit on one screen to long or choose the wrong letter to often. Lots of fun voices in the game as well. A bit above my child's level, I expected much smaller easier sight words for the start of level one but useable with the hints.

Great tech support!. I had not enabled my iPhone microphone for Mystery Word Town and so I went to the website and left a message. I was bummed because I couldn't use the app I had just purchased to study spelling words with my son. Matthew K. Responded to me almost immediately to help troubleshoot. He asked one question and diagnosed the problem. I was up and running after one quick setting fix. The game is great, my son loves it and The tech support response is AMAZING! I may have to purchase the math game now!

Very cute. This looks like a very cute app. It definitely is the next step to helping my daughter read and a spell . I'm hoping it will keep my ADHD son engaged.
