Requires lots of storage. It might be because I downloaded this on an iPod touch with literally no storage But tried to delete almost all the apps I don’t use And it didn’t work at all I’m not going to rate a 0 because the gameplay might be good but I don’t know that So anyone thinking of buying this on an iPod touch with no storage Either but storage

No Audio, stuck in a screen.. Just bought it and tried it for the first time and there is no audio. Also the fist thing I did was try to examine the item he’s carrying and could not get out of the screen. I want my money back.

Was fun, but I also got the black screen. I was having fun playing the game but now I’m also stuck on black screen and music playing in the background. I wouldn’t recommend it.

PLEASE FIX THE GLITCH!!!. This was one of my favorite games growing up, so I was so excited to get to play it again on a touch screen. But there’s a fatal glitch from the get-go: Once I access Manny’s inventory, I’m stuck cycling through his things! I’ve installed/reinstalled and also have tried on two different phones. Please address this!

Black screen of death iPhone 8. Got about ten minutes in, saved my game, and when I opened the app later, there was no sound. When I closed the app and opened it again, I got the black screen of death that other reviewers have mentioned. Nothing to do but uninstall the app. I love Double Fine and convinced myself it wouldn’t happen to me, but here we are. I’m using an iPhone 8, totally up to date as of November 2018.

BEST in the double fine package. I held off on playing this one later in the package because it had lower reviews than the other games, but this one is the best! Challenging, but was able to beat it with minimal tips. Amazing narrative, clever and so much fun. One of my favorite games so far.

Hilarious game.. Really appreciate how big the game is. And the puzzles.

Good but not great. This game needs a cursor option or an option that illustrates what can be clicked on screen. It’s nearly impossible to play without a walkthrough since you don’t have a cursor that helps indicate what is clickable and what isn’t. I spent hours in one area because there was absolutely no indication of what needed to be done. Had there been a cursor or option the illustrate the clickable objects it’d be a perfect iPad game.

Great game. This game is fun, and keeps your attention. I must say that it’s a little annoying that the screen freezes after pressing cancel in the item viewing area.

Would love to play but it black screens before I can get to Rubacava. I was really enjoying the game - I got it as an early Christmas gift from my boyfriend - but when playing on iOS 11.1.2, after I get Glottis to start messing with the tower & weights, I get a black screen and music. Even when I restart the app now after the Double Fine banner all I get is a black screen and music. No starting menu. I’m a software developer. I know the devs can’t fix it not because they don’t care but because management won’t put any resources towards the fix. Double Fine management- Either devote some resources to fixing this game or refund my boyfriend’s money. I’m a big fan of Double Fine and find this extremely disappointing. I was really excited to be able to play this, too...

Bad controls. I’m sure the story is great but it’s so difficult to get from scene to scene that I quit after about 30 minutes. Please add in indicators to move from room to room. Controls are difficult to maneuver as it is

Black Screen of Death. Got well into year 2, playing on my iPhone, when suddenly the screen went black, and I can’t see or do anything (though I can hear music). Every time I restart, it takes me back to the black screen of death (no start menu). I’ve tried contacting their tech support, but get no response. I see others have had the same problem, so I’m not sure why the company hasn’t fixed it. It’s too bad, because it was pretty awesome up to that point.

Couldn’t bring myself to finish it. I tried so hard to like it. I began anew at least a half dozen times. What ultimately made me delete it in a moment if self-awareness? Here are 3 examples: - puzzles where you have to click exactly the right pixel at exactly the right time, or restart from a checkpoint far, far away - solutions that are irrational by anyone’s measure. I can’t believe ANYONE completed this without consulting a walkthrough. - walking and walking and walking And perhaps if I’d been engaged by the scintillating storyline, empathetic characters, or mind blowing graphics, I could have overlooked the tedium of gameplay. I wasn’t. Unless you LOVED this game in its original format and don’t mind a clunky port, you may want to save your money.

Black screen of death. After I lark to my “secretary” I go through the door and save my game, almost immediately, the screen goes black and I restart my game, just the black screen again. Note that this was right At the start, so I will have to give a low rating.

Won’t download. Won’t download over WiFi of 4g. Stuck at 1%. Downloaded other games just fine

Great game for noir and Casablanca fans. Hint I learned 3/4 through the game: if you hold your finger down and run it over the screen, you can see all the routes to leave the screen and all the items you can investigate. Really helps with puzzle solving.

Great game.... Except that I can’t exit the crane after breaking the rock crushers.

Amazing game with Serious problem. I loved this game from when that publish But some major problem occurs when want to play!! In selecting from coat stuffs program still remain in there and what that mean?!!?? That mean you can’t play the game!!! Who care you payed for this, i waited 1 years to see that will be solve in new updates or not! But problems still remain!

Very Glitchy but Interesting Also. Needed to look at a walkthrough for basically the entire game. I had to restart multiple times because everything you do needs to be in order. If you miss something in a room and go do other things, when you go back to the missed interaction it won’t do what it’s supposed to do for the game to progress. I forgot what part it was but it was right at the beginning of a new part and it was at a desk. Something to do with a gambling scam. There are other times this happened but I don’t remember where they were. The game also glitched many times and at one point I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish due to a severe crashing glitch at the end that is known to the developers. Yet they will not fix it for some reason. I was finally able to get past it after doing a bunch of things to the settings. Other than that it is an interesting game and I enjoyed it. Very long which is something I like. Prepare to use a walkthrough though because you really have no sense of what you’re doing and the world is so big it’s almost overwhelming. No direction is given whatsoever. This was my first time playing this game so for others who have played it long ago, it might be better for you.

No AppleTV support. I don’t like the borders. No full screen support and I couldn’t find option to sync my PS4 controller. Also, no AppleTV support! Just AirPlay. I’ve requested a refund for these reasons. Otherwise, the original PC version was a very entertaining game.

10 out of 10!. For a game from 1997, this is fantastic even for today’s standards! I assume it’s been reworked a bunch to work on iOS, but I was still blown away by the quality of this game. The graphics were excellent, the story was very creative, the music was very cool, and the voice acting was top-notch. A lot of humor as well, and with a film-noir vibe. I will admit, it was a bit tricky to solve, but I feel that’s what also made it good. It wasn’t too easy. And if I got stuck, I just went to a walkthrough. There were no glitches, and it would auto-save whenever you accomplished anything significant. Thank you to LucasArts for producing the game to begin with, and thank you to Apple for putting it out again. It’s well worth the $5 if you enjoy adventure games that are different and creative. 👍

Amazing Remake. True to the original. Excellent port to touch screen. Doesn’t leave you disappointed.

Amazing 5 star game & a very lazy remaster. So this game is supposed to be a “remaster” of the legacy game. To Double Fine - who always get a lot of dev money for their work due to the “VIP status” of a certain individual - it means sitting back and doing the bare minimum. This leads to very mediocre lazy remasters, such as this one or Full Throttle. On the better end of the spectrum, their Monkey Island remasters (where is MI3??) The moment I boot this game, I see my phone’s top bar (where the time and icons like WiFi are displayed) isn’t properly hidden. The intro boots in 4:3 format, not 16:9, since they’ve not bothered to remaster backgrounds & cut-scenes (“just add borders or stretch horizontally!”). The sound instantly goes out of sync with the video and subtitles, and the video is cut off early. The controls at least are better from the original one, but still, 3D adventure games from Lucasarts like MI4 or Grim were always a bit poorly done UX wise, so why not take the effort of modernizing/remastering it? Why doesn’t the game look better from its original? Sorry, but remastering isn’t just replacing original textures with higher quality ones! You probably had the original, higher quality ones ready, so that’s just a matter of replacing assets. Further, what’s with the QA? A bunch of crashes so far - totally unacceptable! Such a shame as this title deserves proper care.

Gorgeous. Its gorgeous, but difficult to play on a small screen.

So far, so Grim. Grew up in the 80s but never played this one. Saw my bro play Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle. After reading glowing reviews wanted to try this. First the story is humorous. Secondly I did not encounter any freezes on the mini iPad 4. Inventory worked, no bugs and I'm in year 4 and almost done. I found out double clicking makes you run. And if you hold your finger on the screen and drag- a circle cursor appears whenever there is an actionable item. Very helpful in knowing what you can do. And yes a walk through is essential and required. Going to be sad when I finish this game- it's been that interesting. Overall worth the $1 sale, feels like a steal really. Cheaper than a snickers bar. When this came out I use to buys snickers 5 for $1. How I miss those days...

Interesting and well-made. This game is very interesting as it has a great storyline from the start with the voice overs and not just that, but changing in the scenes being a game and having actions in Manny, the character you play. The interesting music is also played at moments which either puts suspense or matches the scene. There is an adventure you have to go through and some parts may be confusing as you actually have to figure out what to do next and the cut scenes are well-made. I would recommend this game to anyone who like not only action but adventure in a game as it has a different style than other normal video games with cool settings and a different never seen before plot line.

Lack of creativity. Okay I just completed this game 25 years after it came out. I know it’s a pretty old game, but I know other 25 yo games, which is much better then this. The locations are fine, the story is ok. But quests doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s totally random. Whatever logical you could think would be cut off. All the puzzles in this game are totally illogical and that’s what annoying me the most

Still a Great Game. I had bought the original version years ago and loved it. I uploaded it to my new I-Phone yesterday from the App Store. There are subtitles but no sound and the sound is one of the best parts’

The free version of fitting a kitchen utensil into an electric socket saves money and headache. And also $2.99 plus taxes, countless hours of your life. 4 stars for concept 5 stars for pulling it off 3 stars for a primer to game design and development, 1990s-present -10 stars for the never-ending nightmare of this experience and desecration of what you hoped it would be; the nostalgia you sought; the brilliance you hoped would finally shine; the...&$!? whatever you came here for TLDR: A hot, handheld mess that makes Full Throttle-for-mobile seem almost enjoyable. Use disposable income on Broken Age. Pray Double Fine folk regroup and blow gourds again. Drop them a line—you’ve got the number :)

If you have ios11, don’t bother.. The game is a graphic glitch of a mess on ios11. Making it almost impossible to play.

Virtual Joystick. Please add the option for a virtual stick, I’m really not a big fan of tapping to move.

great game, but some major bugs. i didn’t have any trouble with the game when it first came out, but the most recent update made it so that when in the item inventory, you can’t click on the select, examine, or cancel buttons. this means that you can’t take out any new items, so you can’t progress the game and essentially get stuck in the inventory

Just realized. I don’t have the right device for this. I might be able to play it on my phone but I don’t have any of the other suggested devices…bummer dude I just wasted $5

Grim Fandango. I hate to write a bad review about this game because I’ve loved it since back in the 90’s when I played it on my computer.. I almost had it beat on my iPhone X and I was ready to rescue Meche from Domino in the cooler, I wasn’t able to zoom in on the tumblers.. “Hence I couldn’t rescue Meche and I’m stuck there”. I tried to find a way on the internet to send a message to Lucas Arts and let them know about it instead of complaining about it on here but I couldn’t.. So I hope they fix it soon and I definitely recommend the game if they can fix this problem..

HUD is missing in some saves. When I played through the game again, I saved some parts of it, so I could play my favorite non-cutscene parts again. Unfortunately, all the saves except for Save Slot 1 and Auto-Save are missing the pause and inventory buttons. Please fix in next update!

Timeless Masterpiece. Grim Fandango is a game that I first played more than 20 years ago and was enthralled by its amazing storyline and immersive gameplay. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to replay it on iPad now and to be able to experience the beautiful and exciting story once again. Thank you!

Unfortunate it glitches so badly on my iPhone 14. I loved playing this ob my PC years ago so sad excited to see it available here and remastered too. Short lived though since once I purchased it and tried to play on my iPhone it was so difficult to navigate Manny around. Kept glitching when trying to access my inventory and the storyline sequences sometimes did not play out correctly. Kept having to restart or redo certain tasks… so disappointing.

Unplayable. The glitches in the game make it utterly unplayable. For example, once you enter the inventory screen, you cannot do anything except for examining the items—you can’t even exit the screen. DO NOT PURCHASE

Glitchy.. Pretty glitchy. It gets stuck on the inventory screen and won’t let me exit. Also, I can’t pick the exit line of dialogue, it makes me go through all choices before stopping conversations. I loved this game on PC and was excited to play. This was disappointing. It was nice to see it again and hear Manny joke with the secretary though.

It’s impossible to play on my iPhone 7. It won’t load the graphics are glitching and they talk and it cuts out then the controls won’t work at all I don’t know if my iPhone 7 is just to old to play this on or if it’s just not made well but either way I’m deleting it and requesting a refund as soon as it shows me I’m allowed to request a refund

Bad port. This is one of my favorite games, but this is a bad port. First and foremost, the game has multiple times saved on a black screen with music and no graphics. Your game is borked when this happens. Ypu have to start from the beginning. Also, the touch controls are not well suited for the game.

I loved it!. I played this game on PC several years ago, so when I saw it had been remastered I downloaded it and played again. Thankfully I didn’t remember the solution so it was like playing it all over again. If you like puzzles and have the patience to solve them, this game will keep you entertained for hours. Some puzzles are really hard to solve and you will be few days stuck trying everything and still no able to solve them and it could be frustrating, but that’s part of the fun of playing these kind of games. The puzzles don’t need to be solved in order as someone stated in one of the comment, but in some cases you do need to complete something in order to move forward. If you like games that you advance quickly, this game is not for you. But if you enjoy using your brain, don’t get discouraged if it takes you 1 or 2 days to solve a puzzle, have patience to walk around, talk to everyone and try everything on each part, you will enjoy it. I read someone wrote you don’t have a cursor to check what you can click on, that’s not true. Just hold your finger on the screen and move it around and you will ‘activate’ the cursor and you will be able to see what things are interactive. I didn’t have any problems with sound or saving/loading the game. Hope Lucas Arts remasters other classic games like Monkey Island Saga, Sam & Max, Maniac Mansión, etc. Big fan of Lucas Arts old Adventure games here :)

The second best game of the history of everything. The first will always be Neverhood, and with almost the same value, this game is one of those game that never gets old. Whoever made it put love and passion to create every single aspect. It has an amazing storyline and wonderful characters, it keeps you involved in the story and you will be thinking about it until your last days. I just wanted to express my love for this game. So long Manuel...

Not bad...I really like it. Loved the original game and the remastered version on the PS4, so I thought I’d give this a try. Read some of the reviews and it wasn’t looking too good but I tried it anyway. I honestly really like it. It’s not a bad mobile port imo. My only problems are it’s size (honestly can’t argue about it much) and the controls. The controls are okay but could be better. More updates and better controls would make this one of my favorite games on iOS!

Game glitches like mad. I really wanted to love this game, but glitches make it nearly unplayable. It might work better with a larger screen, but it doesn’t work on an iPhone 8. The bottom of the screen doesn’t respond to touch, so you can’t access the last line of dialogue with characters. The game also freezes on the inventory screen for the same reason - you touch the “cancel” or “select” options at the bottom and they don’t work. Essentially, you can’t do much of anything but walk around. What a delightful waste of $5.00 today.

Was loving it - but it's crashing in yr 3. Hey! I was loving this game, but it keeps crashing on a screen in year 3. Underwater, after the ship sinks, on the screen just outside the submarine with the big octopus. The game crashes when the little guy with the light is grabbed by the red tentacle things on the rock. Playing on an iPhone - please do an update to fix! Many thanks! : )

Please fix the glitch. Love this game, I remember playing it on the PC when I was a kid. Can't get past early year 3 though as it has a glitch where the game freezes and I can not get past it.

Good game, disappointing remaster. The game seems good and is consistently rated amongst top point and click adventure games so I was excited to find it remastered on the iPad, however it runs pretty poorly, lagging at times, and the sound is crackly, broken, and I think sped up slightly. This makes it pretty difficult to enjoy the game. I play on an iPad mini 2, which according to the disclaimer it should run properly.

Don't bother. Bug won't get fixed.. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE grim fandango. I have been waiting for years for an updated version to come out, a la monkey island. However there is indeed a bug in the third year that renders the game impossible to complete. Since people have been complaining about it since AUGUST I gather the developers have just abandoned the notion of fixing it. Don't bother buying.

Happy to be playing this again! After 17 years!. This is an old school game and will require some reading and thinking, if you like the kind of game that requires crazy tapping on the screen, you won't like it. But if you love puzzle solving, you'll enjoy this. The storyline is great, the characters are likeable and the dialogues are witty and funny. I'm happy to see the port to iOS was nicely done (although there's still some minor problems with it, mainly with controls; I keep accidentally skipping dialogues when I just want to move Manny around). This game will drain your battery like crazy, though, so keep your device plugged into power while playing.

Crashes in 3rd year.. Game works great until trying to break the crusher with the chain, it freezes at this point and doesn't continue even after a full restart. IPhone 7, iOS 10.1.

Can’t get out of the inventory. Pressing cancel to revert back to the game doesn’t work, the app doesn’t action the command so whenever I go into the inventory I end up needing to shut the whole game down.

A favourite returns. After years of rumours and speculation, Grim Fandango has finally arrived on iOS and it was worth the wait! A faithful port (why mess with perfection?), this adventure game is close to perfect as a game can get. I love Manny! He's a cool (dead) dude.

But tell me again how I was supposed to know to pick up random item x hidden on an obscured part of a room and then know to hole punch it in some other obscure part of the game? I play a lot of games in this genre, but I'm not a mind reader. But I will reiterate: the game's visuals are great and it runs perfectly.

Frozen at end of Year 3. Game freezes when trying to lower the crane with the chains in Year 3. This happens for both the scene with the grinders and the scene with the rails where the player is supposed to retrieve the lost ship. On an iPad Pro 12". Please patch and fix the game. It's a lot of time invested to not be able to see the rest of the story.

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER MADE!. One of the BEST games EVER MADE!!! The story line, the art style, the game play! It is DEFINITELY a must own and must play game! I just hope the developer updates the game every so often so that it remains compatible with future devices so that future generations can experience this masterpiece!

Probably the best adventure game of all time. The performance and retina graphics make it even better than when I played it in the 90’s. Having forgotten most of the puzzles, I found it fun to re-engage with the plot. The artwork and character development are first class. Some of the puzzles are unnecessarily difficult due to tiny visual clues, though. I generally dislike sequels, but I do wish this game had one.

Buggy. Just tried to replay as I love this game. There is a bug at the beaver dam, supposed to go to a cut scene after unlocking the gate, and nothing happens, and so no way to play the remainder of the game.

Finally!. Played on pc years ago and been trying to find this game for a few years. It's all worth the $. Fun game, challenging, cool characters. You won't be disappointed.

Great classic , a bit too hard. I have not played with the original , but this is a great game . Well-thought storyline , entertaining characters and lots of quirks. While is it not super flashy , i like the graphic too. However , the puzzles are often too hard . I ended up checking walkthroughs quite a few times. Many occasion the solution was something I tried often multiple times, but did not work for me . Often things required perfectly precise timing or clicking on a the precise location, which is fine if you play on a PC. But playing on a phone screen using your finger doesn’t give you that kind of precision. Also watching the character walking between location is annoyance . There should be a skip cutscene options

Grim Fandango Remastered 11/10 would die again. Grim Fandango plays incredibly well for an iPad point and "touch" game, looks great and is well priced for its content. I could probably write a 2000 word review on why this game is so good, looks great and would have been just as good without having been remastered, but just buy it and try it yourself. Warning: there are no Hints or Tips or any kind of help in-game, so not for the faint of heart or mind (of which there are many on the App Store) Just buy it.

Orange squares and freezing?. There's two orange squares ruining the picture and it's super distracting. This game is my childhood though and it will always hold a place in my heart! Fix the squares :( Now in year 3 the crane has frozen on me several times forcing me to restart the app and my phone. What's going on?

A classic now available on iphone. I loved this game when I played it as a kid. However, I didn't get to finish it then, and boy was it a pleasure to play it again. One of the best adventure games I have ever played. Great job.

So so so good. This was just brilliant…I wish I could forget it and play it again! You went through so many richly developed environments and I just loved it. Yeah, I had to look up solutions every once in a while but it was worth it.

grim fandango remastered. i have a ipad mini 2 64g, and the game doesn't let me download it. please fix problem. i can play in on my iphone 6, but not on my ipad. i will give it more stars when problems fixed.

I demand a refund. I don't know what all these reviews about but the game does not work it won't let me download it and even when I did download it's not a game it's just a quiz

Game crashes. I'm stuck on year three because whenever I try to operate the crane after putting it into the grinder, the music stops playing and the screen freezes... I was looking forward to finishing the game after all my hard work :(

Take me back. Back to the good old days of gaming , so far I'm loving It , the lighting effects are insane and Not seen on most games, great voice acting, funny dialogue , this looks to be a very well made remake , worth the premium price , or the deal of 5.79 which I got it on sale so I'm happy thanks Tim Shaffer and the double fine team for bring back These games again , let's see a re make of monkey island or kings quest woot woot (not for the faint of heart)

Game crashes at crane level. Love the game & remember playing it on PC when it first came out. Can't get past crane level because it crashes when trying to change direction on conveyor belt. Using my iPhone 6s. Is there a fix for it?

Bug. Great game. But I dropped a "heavy" item and I can't pick it up again in year three as it fell halfway between two camera positions and trying to pick it up just makes manny walk. Also a little clunky in general without a mouse.

Be careful, watch your saves. The axe has dropped at an impossible angle. I'm three quarters the way along and have to start all over. I am so frustrated I want to wretch. Ran into this problem at other spots. Managed to save juggle out, but this one got me. Found an arrow+u fix but not for iPhone. I repeat, I wanna barf, I am so mad!!!

It looks like it should work. But nope.. Buttons don’t function, icons don’t activate, tapping “cancel” does nothing. If I wanted to spend $7 on something that doesn’t do what I want it to, I’d have bought a hamster. Fix this app!

Don't buy - update is needed. Loved this game on the pc Manny years ago but on my SE it crashes at the same point every time. When trying to feed the chain down the conveyor belt it freezes and the crashes. Reading the reviews it looks like other people are having the same issue. Please fix as o paid almost $8 for this app. Do not purchase until an update is done later than dec 2016.

The greatest game ever finally can be taken anywhere. Grim fandango is the best video game of all time and finally it is on iOS. The game works beautifully with touch controls and I have had no problems with crashing. I am so happy that I can now take this game everywhere.

Welcome back Manny!. Timeless classic Grim Fandango finally on iOS. While some of the gameplay and puzzles may be non-sensical, the writing here is second to none. Highly recommended! Oh, and check out Broken Age while you're in an adventuring mood!

Wish there were more like this. I was so excited to see this on the App Store! Loved playing this game on my PC and playing it again on iPhone was just as good. Wish they would put some more of those 90's/00's adventure games on here (Monkey Island, King's Quest, etc.).

Awesome, Just a Few Suggestions. I absolutely love Grim Fandango, I own the original, the Remastered on Steam and now iOS. (So I can play it on the go) I only have 2 minor annoyances that can easily be fixed in an update. 1) Have an option for tank controls like the original. (Camera Relative or Character Relative) I'm happy you guys made a mobile friendly model - but it's not as fun when you can't directly control Manny. 2) Since everything is tap related on the iOS version, there is some dialogue you completely miss. Example: While staring at the door at the beginning of the game, there is no command to "look" at the door where Manny says "It wasn't long ago that the name on this door said supply closet". Instead, tapping on the door simply opens it. My simple solution to this would be either an action button on the side bar like you have for handling objects in your hand, to be "look". Or to have the Full Throttle-Esque context menu pop up even when clicking on the door to allow to "look" like we can with other objects.

Still one of the best ever.. I was really fortunate to be able to play this game when it first came out in 1998 and really appreciate it for what it was at the time... One of the best video games ever created. I have not played the game since then and just downloaded it and completed it today on my iPhone 7, and the translation to the small screen is absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend this game more to everybody it's a great family game and one of the best point and click adventures of all time. For five dollars this is an absolute gem.

Lucas Arts is King. This game shows you how adventure games were when they first came out. Superb story and the details are endless. Music score fantastic and hours and hours of fun. Back in the day, this would have cost $60 on PC. What a bargain.

I've waited years for this game. This was one of my favorite Lucasarts adventure games back in the day and it's great to see it rereleased for a new generation to enjoy. Now that Disney owns Lucasfilms and decided to shut down Lucasarts it's good to see they're allowing the original creators to remaster their old games instead of letting them die. Now they just need to put the remastered Monkey Island games back on here, and maybe a remastered Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle?? I have hope.

I can't wait to play through this again!. I played this game 15 years ago, and I'm so excited that I can play it again now on my iPad! I just finished playing through Broken Age with the kids, and we all loved it! I can't wait to see what they think of Grim Fandango!

Best adventure game all the time. Yeah, since I finished whole chapters of the game, I have seek for many other recommended adventure games but none of them satisfied me as much as GrimFandango did. Even it was 2 weeks ago I finished, I miss those adorable characters. Full of humor, like reading a novel, I do not regret its data size and price.

Love it. I love this game a lot but there's 2 problems. 1. It needs hints, when you first start its like ok I see what I have to do but then once you get outside its like ok now what. And 2. It takes to much storage. I was wondering why my phone got slow so I look at my storage... This game took up 3.5GB so if you could fix that it would be great.

Great game, but bug causing constant crash. This is a superbly made and often mind boggling point and click adventure from LucasArts. Really excited this game got remastered. I am running into a crash in Year 3. When I lower the crane onto the reversed conveyer belt. Or reverse the conveyor belt after the chain has already been lower the game hangs and crashes. I have tried doing this at three stages in Year 3 and now I have nothing left to solve to move on. Really frustrating. iOS 10.0.2 on iPhone 7 Plus.

Great game. Great game, but there is a bug in Rubacava. When you're in the screen where the multiple gangways meet over the water in Rubacava, the bridge that leads to the lower right that leads to the cat track is very difficult to walk down. Normally, when you click on the edge of the screen that should take you to the new screen, you just wind up walking to the edge of the screen and stopping.

Best Adventure Game worth paying for. This game is worth paying for. The storyline and cut scenes are entertaining. Needed help from walk through sheer and them. Overall I loved the challenge of trying to figure out the missions on my own.

Desperately needs a hint system. After playing for a short while, you'll soon learn that the puzzle solutions are so obtuse that it's not even worth persevering with most of them. The Monkey Island re-releases that came out a couple years back had a good shake-to-hint system to help you out, whereas there's really no way to play this one without a constant back and forth with a web browser. I enjoyed it, admittedly mostly for the nostalgia. But I'd be skeptical of its appeal to anyone who was too young to have played its original release.

A classic with all the classic baggage. There are many things to like about this game but it's a classic adventure that can be tedious and slow. The 3D presentation can make finding and navigating frustrating too. The inventory system is cute but tedious to work through. The voice acting is great. If you never experienced this game you may want to consider it but expect to devote a serious effort to completing it.

Worth the time and money. In a day where most of the games on your phone are stupid gem match variants, this game takes the time to develop a story that's fun to follow and interact with. The puzzles were challenging, entertaining, and relevant to the story as well. I myself didn't encounter any of the bugs described in the other reviews. Overall it was well worth the time and money.

An Adventure Game you CANT MISS. If you're like me and grew up loving every game that Sierra studios produced from Kings Quest to Leisure Suit Larry... You will love this game. A closed puzzle adventure game similar to your classic Quest interfaces with an edgy, hilarious storyline that is a totally unique one off. There's literally no game I can compare this campy lighthearted plot to. You are a travel agent. In the land of the dead. It's brilliant. Think Freddy Farkas. The puzzles were a little obtuse but nothing impossible given the nature of the game. No hints needed. Just patience. And this game has a LOT of gameplay. Hours. Guesstimate 10 hours? It was as many as Broken Age which is one of the best on iOS. Also, comparable in overall awesome. Grim was designed in the 90's so it may look a bit dated. Game play was seamless though which I understand was an issue with the original. This game will grab your attention, drive you nuts, get you laughing and make you nostalgic for the good old games. Totally worth the price. Please please please make more games Double Fine!!!!

Best. Game. Ever.. I loved this game when it came out on PC, and was more than excited when it was re-released. Such awesome nostalgia! There were some glitches but that's to be expected. I finished the game and just want to play it again. Just hoping they'll re-release FULL THROTTLE!!

Great, but had to start over due to bug. So frustrated that I can't pick up the stinking axe because it's located at the bottom of the screen and I can only move back and forth from room to room! After so many hours of playing this, I really don't want to start over... So ten bucks and I won't be finishing the game. Very disappointed.

My Favorite Game of All Time!. Tim Schafer is an absolute master of the Character Adventure genre. Because this type of game involves all of the typical aspects of gaming (mechanics, animation, design etc..) along with the more complexed aspects prevalent in films and literature (story plot, voice acting, humor, symbolism, etc..), this kind of game is considered the most difficult to make. To this day, this is the best example of the genre. A film noir set in the mythical lore of the nine underworlds and the day of the dead. This game has made me laugh and cry and Generally speaking, emotions aren't really something that games are able to create that often. Especially for a game that was made in 1998. If you like this game, you should check out all of Schafer's other games. Psychonauts, the Monkey Island series games, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle and even his new one Broken Age.

Epic. I am a first time player and it has been a very fulfilling experience (except for the need to refer to online walkthroughs all the time due to some puzzles being too mysterious and my limited patience). I do agree that there should be a hint system of some sort, it would also be nice and more efficient if Manny can be controlled directly. Otherwise, everything seems to be almost perfect. It has become one of my favorite games and an experience I'll never forget.

Game Keeps Crashing (Year 2). The game crashes right after the bomb detonation scene with Carla. Right as I grab the key from the blown up cigarette case, the game shuts off and I'm back to my iPhone home screen. It's unfortunate since I was enjoying the game. I figured since it's a remaster that the crashes would be taken care of, but it doesn't look that way. Next time I'll make sure to take heed of other reviewers mentioning these bugs before spending $5 on a phone app.

One of the best games ever made. Don't rush to walkthroughs immediately or you will miss a lot of great fun dialogues and extras. This is one of the best games ever made, the dialogues, the setting, the music, the atmosphere... Anyone's top five adventure games of all time should have this gem. All I have to say is...it's worth the money ten times over. Go. Play. Now.

Finally!!! Love this game. This has always been one of my favorite games and I was bummed when it came out on only Desktop, but was elated when I downloaded it today. I'm not a $9.99 price point person, but for this game, I am! Now, if I could just get a movie made of this game! PS: I have an iPad 4 - why can't this game run on it?!

Incredible. 3rd person adventures are, by far, my favorite types of games. Played this game in the 1990's... Now it's out for iOS and it plays wonderfully on a touchscreen like an iPad! It is amazing for as old as this game is how fresh it feels on new devices today. Highly recommend it. Up next... Full Throttle???

So good.... Literally my favorite computer game of all time. The Mexican folklore mixed with film noir...a strange and brilliant pairing with an amazing soundtrack to boot. I played when I was young and it's so great to be able to play it again. Seriously guys thanks so much for taking the time to revive this game! The enhancements are great by the way.

Great game, keeps crashing. This game is awesome and definitely worth the money, but I'm halfway through the second year and the game refuses to let me progress without crashing in the exact same spot. I've given it a few days and come back again to see if anything changed and it hasn't. I'm really wrapped up in the storyline now and I'd love to keep playing!

Something's Buggy at the Beaver Dam!!. **SPOILER ALERT** I was rolling along and enjoying this little gem with a chuckle and a smile on my face, until I got to the beaver dam. I know what to do and verified against walkthrough so. . . but there is something software buggy here that won't let me >>choose<< the beaver or the tar slick to activate the extinguisher. It will only let me choose the tar slick AFTER the beaver has already jumped in and spray. Even if the excuse is a "timing" issue, nothing should so precise in a point-and-click game that makes it so frustrating. I played this on my PC years ago, and there was no problem getting through this section. So please fix!!!! I can't go on beyond this point. :-(

All time favorite- thank you!. I bought this game when it initially released and have been waiting for years to play it again - particularly after seeing other adventure games making it over to the modern platforms. The remastered does the original justice and I can't say thank you enough to all the people involved bringing my all time favorite game back to life.

Help!!. Ok, so I was enjoying the game, and hadn't gotten very far. But something really weird has happened. I exited out of the game, having saved everything. But, the next time I tried to enter the game, it showed the start screen, and then would just go all black. I've tried countless things to get it to work again. I really don't want to delete and reinstall because I don't want to start over again. If anyone knows what to do please help! Thx

I was literally just wishing this existed!. I played this game in the original release and it was so incredibly innovative, artistic, humorous, and fun! I'm sure there was a dozen jokes or more I didn't get because I was only Like 12 years old, but now at 30 I'll laugh and enjoy! I can't wait to play it all over again, downloading it now. My only concern is that it seems every time I start wishing something existed, suddenly it become available shortly there after. Big Brother must be watching my thoughts! (￣(工)￣)

Meh. I'd give this game 2 🌟 but I really like this company and pretty much all their other titles. I suppose if u usta play this game and it brings back memories then it's cool. I didn't. It's hard to move the character around and the puzzles arnt just hard, they don't really give u clues to whatcha gotta do. In my opinion. Wanted to like it but stopped when I had to force myself to play. But try broken age it's sweet.

Very bad sound quality. I just started playing the game and after the first video scene, it seemed like an interesting game. As soon as it went to the actual interaction part of the game, the sound quality became buggy and choppy to the point where you couldn't understand what they were saying unless you read the subtitles. For a $4.99 game, there shouldn't be a bug problem like that before I even get started.

Minus 1 star for battery murder. This is a great port of one of the best games of all time. Some of the puzzles are completely inane, but seriously: one of the best games of all time. My only complaint is the performance. I’m pretty sure my iPad Mini 2 is more powerful than the PC I first played this on in 2000, so I’m hoping Double Fine can improve performance in future updates.

Annoyed by a bug. I used to play this game on my pc back in the day and I was extremely happy to be able to play it again years later on my phone. But then, I came across an annoying bug that won't let me continue with the game. I accidentally dropped the axe between two camera angles and it won't let me pick it up. I looked everywhere for answers to see if there was any way I could fix this, but seems like I will have to begin the whole game again? I'm very annoyed by this, especially that there's no way to contact anyone about this issue nor any good answers to solve this issue. PLEASE SOMEONE FIX THIS BUG

Dia de los muertos. I never played the original game, so this whole thing was new to me. Overall, I thought the game itself was really great. I needed a walkthrough on some parts, but most of it I was able to figure out myself. (Even if some of it was through trial and error.) I loved the story, the graphics, and the length of the game. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because I hit a glitch halfway through. The game kept crashing and would not allow me to proceed any further. I tried everything I could to get past it, but nothing worked, and their customer support was no help at all. I ended up having to start the entire game over from the beginning, and that was very frustrating. Otherwise, great game.

Great Game, but needs battery usage fix & iCloud support. Playing on my iPad Air and it uses battery so fast that even when charging the battery goes down. Looks like it uses too much cpu? Would love to be able to share progress across devices. iPad at home, phone on the go. Will up to 5 stars once implemented.

Surprisingly Great. For months I ignored the great reviews of this game, not really sure I'd love it worth it's cost. The summary of the game seems purposefully vague and left me unsure about trying it. I regret not trying sooner and now I'm so bummed that it doesn't continue for many more "years". Really fun engaging game. Initially the puzzles are difficult to solve but soon you begin to think in a way that makes the game easier. The story really pulls you in and the character development is impressive. I wish I bought it sooner and I really hope they release more games soon.

One of the best games ever made. In a way, this was the most expensive game I have ever played. I couldn't play it on my 3rd generation iPad (no Metal), so I got it from Steam for my 2011 MacBook Air. Unfortunately, it crashed constantly and every time that happened, I found myself going to the Apple website and longingly staring at the page for an iPad Air 2. And, by the end of Year 2, the frustration won out and I bought a new iPad Air 2. This is the only game I've played on it so far. That being said, I've been an ardent and loyal fan of Lucas Arts for nearly 30 years now. This game is by far one of their best, and Double Fine Productions served it faithfully when they remastered it. It has a superb, innovative storyline and more lengthy gameplay than any other game I've played on an iPad before (each of the four years could easily be a game in its own right -- I'm glad it wasn't split up into four paid apps like some games are.) The graphics are stunning, the dialogue is funny, and the puzzles are relatively complex. There a couple of bugs here and there, but no show stoppers. I highly recommend this game to any and every fan of point and click adventure games out there: you won't regret it!

Fantastic game and good iOS port. The game itself is one of my favorites. I've hoped it would come to iOS eventually and am happy to see it. The port of the game from original "tank" controls to point-and-click and now to touch was done very well. Dialog selections are a bit too small to tap accurately on a small screen, so I suggest those are made with larger tap targets. I'd love to see a shortcut gesture to switch between the old low res graphics and the new high res versions.

TANK CONTROLS. Being a huge fan of all things Double Fine, Lucasarts, & Tim Schafer, Grim is by far my favorite game of all time. The remaster is gorgeous. But PLEASE make a way to allow tank controls again on this version. The point and click still works quite well, but something to me feels missing by not truly being able to control Manny.

Try this if you want a real game, literally!. Grim fandango is the best adventure game i've ever had in my whole life, i doubt if its not the best ever in history of video games. Although i've had bought in steam, i paid 10$ and bought this and i think it totally worths it. The graphic is almost like the pc version, there is no bug, a little difficulty with going to other areas but its not that big and it aint hurt. Don't have any doubt, just buy it now and have THE BEST EVER VIDEO GAME with u every where u go.

It's a classic, but there's a game breaking bug. Interesting characters, interesting setting. Diverse locations and interesting storyline. I can see why people regard this as a classic. If anyone is stuck, there are many resources online to help you through the puzzles. I'm stuck in the third chapter due to a game-breaking bug.

One of the best games ever!. Being a serious gamer for over 20 years, I can tell I was waiting for this moment to be able to play it again. One of the best games I've played ever. Strong storyline, amazing ambiance, challenging puzzles and most of all very intelligent sense of humor.

Wish they made more like these. Games today just don't have this kind of flair. The only negative about games like this and day of the tentacle is that some parts can be impossibly difficult without looking up solutions. Overall though tremendous game they just don't make em like this anymore!

Grim fandango. Love this game. However, it definitely needs a hint area and an overview map. Sometimes I spend a lot of time in the same area looking for the right room or building. I cannot find the letter needed that is supposed to be in Manny's office. I have looked everywhere but to no avail. I cannot proceed without it. If anyone can help, bless you.

Impressive!. This game was an unexpected joy! The puzzles were super difficult and thank goodness there are places online to help navigate or I wouldn't have made it past year one. Despite the difficulty, I would suggest this game to anyone with access to a web browser and a bunch of time to kill. Definitely worth every penny. I wish there were more games such as this!

Great game, a couple bugs, too costly. Classic '90s-era LucasArts point-and-click adventuring: beautifully rendered scenery, clever plot, dark humor, decent cutscenes and animation—cinco estrellas for all of that. The adaptation to touch-screen is solid, but "axegate" snagged me, too, as did a similar bug in the Rubacava "high roller" elevator with the forklift. Fortunately, I had made good use of the save slots. (You would be wise to do the same.) For a $10 app, those issues are really unacceptable, hence three stars (minus one for each bug) not five.

Great game. Just finished the game. It was an awesome game! Many hours of fun and enjoyment. I must admit that I needed a few hints during the game after I was doing circles trying to figure things out. I don't feel too bad though. :) So basically great storyline, and highly recommended if you story based puzzle games.
