I wish there was a way to search by profile name/ID. I follow NYCACC on Instagram. They often share profiles of dogs and cats that are looking for their forever home but I don’t see a way to go directly to the pet’s individual profile in the Browse section on the mobile app. I know there is a Status Search section where you can look up if an ID is still available for adoption but even in that section, there is no way to review the pet’s profile page. A profile search that goes directly to the pet’s profile description would be super helpful.

Lost Opportunity. Far better software out there. This system is okay for searching for pets at the ACC yet is a dinosaur in terms of tools for helping rescues, building a pool of pre-screened adopters and fosters, and rapid information. ACC needs new management and a new software vendor.

DISCRIMINATION. my mother works for the city, makes good money and is extremely loving and nurturing, but was discriminated against because she lives in NYCHA. we put in an application for an animal and was told we would receive a call and/ or an email of confirmation. our family friend (who lives in an upscale neighborhood) also put in an application at the same time we did, and they received an email immediately telling them that they were 4th in line for the animal and that they would be contacted to set up an appointment to continue the process if the other 3 people fell through. we tried every other day to call them and could not get through at all. finally after almost 2 weeks we tried to call again and still didn’t get through, so then we used someone else’s phone, and sure enough we got through. we asked the woman who answered what was the status of our application, gave her the id number of the animal and they said we were 2nd in line but the first person adopted the animal. but then we asked her why they didn’t contact us at all to let us know this and the woman then backtracked and “tried to look for our application but she couldn’t find it”. we asked her are they allowed to discriminate against people living in NYCHA and she said “only for dogs” which was ironic because we applied to adopt a cat. moral of the story, they discriminated against us, didn’t consider our application, didn’t have the decency to let us know that we wouldn’t be eligible, blacklisted our number as we continuously couldn’t get through to them until we used another number and lied about whether or not they even received the application. we will never try to go through this agency to adopt again. if they have the right to discriminate, that is fine but it should at least be public knowledge and clearly stated on their website, to save loving people the stress and disappointment of not being able to adopt.

It keeps crashing. I just read about this app on the NY daily news website. I was super excited to download because I'm interested in adopting a cat. It keeps crashing please fix the bug but I know this is the first day it's been released.

In Search. Sad for me haven’t been contacted about a dog or a cat. That’s why rating this app is two stars. No help

Amazing way to find your new furry friend. Love this app! Excellent way to view and share all of the amazing NYC animals that are available for adoption.

Great App - allow for multiple loc filters. Great app. It’s easy to use. All of the filters work. I like the larger images and that the weight of the dogs are included before clicking into their bio. Suggestion, allow to select multiple locations when filtering. For example, I wanted to see Brooklyn and Manhattan - but you can only filter for one location at a time.

Crashes. Opens but crashes a second after opening.

Good First Step - Suggested Improvements. 1). Create the ability for people to proactively set notification alerts (push, email, text, etc) for breeds they have a stated interest in. 2). Related to the above, enable push notifications (definitely by preselected breed interest, but also other notifications - however other types of notifications should be limited so that people don't delete the app or turn off notifications due to frequency). 3). Create a 'recent adoptables' section within the app that highlights animals that have been added to the app in intervals (24 hours,48 hours,1 week, etc) to give people a reference point so that they don't continually scroll through all available animals (eg all dogs) if they've already evaluated the list. This wouldn't be to discourage people from fully looking through the full list again (everyone shares the same goal of getting these animals adopted), but would create easily identifiable areas where people could look for the latest updates and keep people engaged with the app.

Can’t get notification to work. It always says there’s an error when I try to create a notification

App updates are amazing!. No one saves more pets than McGill Dev LLC. Way to go Kevin. Amazing app!

Cannot receive matches. I will have to give the site 1 star because I am not receiving the matches, I set up the notifications and I’m getting texted with the matches and when I check the inbox, nothing! The matches are not even in the browsing, so I can’t see what’s being sent to me.

ACC. They are having a few hiccups but the app is good helping you find your furever pet!!

Nice viewing gallery, good luck on actually getting the pet. I think the layout and design of the app is amazing. However what I find frustrating is that frequently pets that are pending adoption are left in the searchable results, and they will be listed as pending adoption for weeks if not longer. If you do actually find a pet of interest, you can apply, but there seems to be an extraordinary long delay, then very limited slots for going to actually view the animal and when you call to inquire, majority of the time even though it says your application is pending, the pet has already been adopted. Except for once when I was told the pet was already adopted, and then randomly out of the blue several months later I get a call that the pat has been in foster care and wondering if I’m interested. In my opinion, you don’t get your hopes high on the app, just try to find time in your schedule during business hours to actually attend one of the shelters

I’m mad. I feel like they choose people that they I’ve been up here for a while trying to adopt a small dog and every time I love someone else is getting it I fill out the paperwork I do everything I need to be done and I seem not to be getting a dog so that makes me feel some type away so that’s why I gave one star really didn’t want to give any to be honest

Horrible experience. I’ve been trying to apply on the website and this place adopt is horrible blocks the application freeze and takes me to thing that don’t know how I ended up there if I only press continue after I entered my information and the pet I was trying to adopt was available at the moment that I was applying to but after This nonsense app took me to nowhere when I try again the pet was already with pending adoption very frustrating it is easier to go to the locations look a the pets and apply right there I just hope they go back to allow people to visit the pets shelters soon

App stopped working. I keep getting the error msg “Error loading. Sorry it appears the connection with the server has timed out.” My internet connection has been working great at the different locations I’ve opened the app. I even deleted and reinstalled the app but it still doesn’t work. I have friends trying out the app and they are getting the error.

Acc disaster service. Where the all comments are? I already wrote a comment but I don’t see it any more. The app could be cool but the the inflexible rules ( for someone) are terrible, the want, they need, they ask for adopting but they don’t help for it.

Pls fix.. Literally only downloaded this because your web search stopped working on mobile. Please fix your mobile site so I can delete extraneous app. Also, would be super helpful if your app included animal’s weight as your previous web search did. Thanks!

Poor communication. App has no way to contact them about an animal.

Nyc acc. The app is very user friendly It help if the keys in foster write a review so the user can find out more information It would help if a breed or a breed mix is listed I adopt and rescue beagles But the way it is now I would have to look at every dig to see if you had one

Good app, room for improvement. - more filters would be helpful. ie, search by rescue only, search by behavior assessment, search newest, etc. - it would be nice if the app was also combined with the foster website that has dogs available for foster. This way maybe fosters could login and input info about their foster, etc, instead of having like four apps, 2 webpages, and 16 emails to coordinate care for their foster - emergency placements should have their own filter as well - eventually could add merchandise to the app! - could have a donation button for the app! I do like the app, I think it just has room to grow.
