Application Crashing. I had a lot of recordings and now I cannot access them. Applications opens and crashes after upgrading to iOS 15.5. Please help me so I can access my recordings again.

Performance: Desktop vs. Mobile Platform. Love the iOS desktop, consistent performance voice recordings are saved with confidence. The quality of the recordings are outstanding. The performance of mobile application hasn’t been as consistent. There’s been a couple of occasions in which the mobile application crashed, wouldn’t start or I lost valuable recordings all together. Would love to use the application more but my confidence in being able to use it to capture key moments isn’t high.

Edit feature resulted in the deletion of an important recording. The app is pretty minimalistic and somewhat easy to use. Unfortunately for, not easy enough to use. I wanted to trim the beginning of an important recording. Using the trim feature I selected the part to be trimmed. The app kept the selected part and deleted the important part. There is no undue feature. I’m out of luck and done with this app.

love the app. Love the Voice Recorder app! I use this to record in-person interviews. When I go back and listen to the recordings, they are crystal clear. Couldn't ask for anything better!

Documentation of Tarot/Oracle Spreads/Daily Readings 📜🃏♠️🀄️. Love the simplicity of this App and the ability to align your pictures with the exact time that a specific picture is being discussed. It allows me, with the simplest of ease, to document my Daily Readings with a brief description, detailed pictures and detailed voice recordings. It really saves a lot of time compared to having to document everything in My Journal 📔, and provides the visuals that are very valuable when doing documentation of this sort. Not bad either, price wise, for the bundle package 📦! Thanks so much, as you’ve replaced the prior App that I’d attempted to use for this same endeavor but wasn’t so easy to just glance at and know exactly what and which documentation I was looking for without having to go through numerous files. Horrible!. App crashed and lost all of my essential recordings! So upsetting. I would expect that from a free app but not something I paid for!

Randomly (but frequently) drops and erases recordings. This recorder is awful. It has a lot of features that seem great, but those features mean nothing if my recordings aren't safe. The program randomly (but frequently) stops taping in the middle of a recording, and if I am especially unlucky, it will delete that recording outright and act like it never existed when I search for it. I use this program to verbalize my ideas for dissertation research, and just finished recording an outline of my current chapter (or so I thought). I felt like I made real progress in developing my ideas, but that recording no longer exists. This is true despite my frequent checks to make sure the app was still recording, since I've become paranoid about dropped recordings. Please fix this or give me my money back!

Useful and More Useful. This recorder has become more and more useful to me the more I've used it. The tags get me to key parts of the recording. The ability to add written comments to a voice recording is valuable for seeing the information that I recorded. And, the ability to add pictures ties another visual for a multimedia control over the information that I recorded. And, when I emailed in a question, I received an answer the same day. I'm impressed by this app. It is on my home screen.

Excellent, and the best I have been able to find. My needs are simple, I just want to make voice memos. To have my memos sync through Dropbox is a big plus. To be able to amend my recordings is another big plus. To be able to file them in folders and subfolders, and have the whole thing sync, and to be able to add photos and searchable notes is more than I could've ever hoped for. It only takes two touches to start a recording, and it's easy to do with one hand, and easy enough to do while I'm driving. A big thank you to the developer. I highly recommend this app to anyone that wants to remind themselves of things by voice recording.

Must have at doctors visits!. Every time I see a doctor I turn this app on and put it in my pocket. That way later on I can go over the instructions that the doctor gave me and also here again what he told me to do and what is wrong. It is a very useful tool are use only for doctors but it can be used for any thing else. I give this tool a five stars.

Let’s see some more updates. Please update the app more. The cloud services offered as well as the UI. ALSO allow to be used in portrait mode!

Does not work with iOS13. This app has been amazing and worked phenomenally until I updated my phone. Now it crashes at the splash screen and will not operate at all

ALMOST a 5 star…. …because the file naming process is backward; e.g. when I want to record quickly, I want to be able to go right into record (akin to shooting a vid on the spot when needed) and the name the file AFTER the recording is complete. The process becomes inefficienr when I have to change the file name AGAIN - AFTER, the recording is stopped, from either the default “Recording” naming convention assigned by the app, or even possibly different than the one I had to spend the time creating BEFORE i could even start. I want to be able to open the app - hit the button to record - stop it when completed - and choose my next action. THAT would make this a 5 star app - in my opinion, as an audio pro. The editing is easy to use and the recording quality is crisp and clear.

Very good. Is a critical user I spent hours looking for a very very good audio recording program. I highly recommend this program as the best. Why? You can append to a recording. you cannot only easily, easily add bookmarks but you can label them and see them in the list. You can add multiple pictures to a recording. You can add an easy to read and also to access, Note to a recording. You can search not only through recording titles but it will also search within your notes. You can zoom any photos you attached to a recording. There is a useful, simple recording edit ability. There is the ability to have folders and subfolders. The only feature I wish that would be added in the future would be the ability to - insert - audio within a recording.

Works great!. I’ve used several different apps to record meetings, brief conversations and to-dos. This is by far the easiest user-friendly recorder! Minimal input is needed to start recording and you can easily track and play back

Happy at first now disappointed. Worked great at first but doesn’t seem to work the same now that I’ve had it for a while (doesn’t seem to save more than a couple seconds)

No longer works, crashes constantly. Used since 2017, but hasn’t worked for months now. First, crashed and blew away when trying to record or open menus. Lately crashes and goes away a few seconds after opening app. iPhone 11 and iOS 15.6.1. Deleted.

Good app. I am a fan of this app, like the simple recorder interface. Tried other recorders but so far this is the easiest to use.

Pros and cons. It does exactly what I need it to do but it is annoying when it closes while using the edit function and moves the recording to the bottom of the list. Not sure why that happens so often.

Lost recordings bug kills an otherwise great app. I've been using the app for 6 months to conduct 30-minute interviews. Recently I started recording longer interviews and discovered to my horror that several had disappeared. I tested it some more and found that when I reach 48-50 minutes the app resets itself and stops recording. The app syncs with Dropbox and conveniently names files 1, 2, 3 etc. so I can see the time stamp and exactly which recordings failed. Thought it might be the power saver but confirmed it's not the cause. I'm using iPad Air 2.

Sharing not working. iPhone 11pro, iOS 13.5.1 Happy to revise rating if problem is fixed. As it stands, without sharing, app is useless to me and $3 wasted.

Deletes Your Recordings. If you need to use your recordings in the future, don't count on this app. I recorded the first 9 hours of a seminar and then after pausing for lunch I went to turn the recording back on, only to find that the first 9 hours of recording had been deleted. This app constantly freezes and adding notes is nearly impossible. Good ideas I guess, but the developers have poorly executed these features. I am very disappointed that my whole seminar is now gone and will never trust this app in the future. Maybe if the developers produce an update, things could improve.. but don't waste your money until that happens.

Great to archive messages from mailbox. Love having ability to save voicemails. Can listen to previous messages from deceased friends and family. :-( :-)

Unreliable. I Thought at first that this app was an answer to dreams, and was stunned when after a long lecture it lost the entire lecture. Thinking I had done something wrong I tried again and again. I should not have trusted it again, wrote to the developers but have seen no response. It randomly stops recording and loses recorded material. I thought it might be related to when the ipad screensaver comes on, but not always! while watching it, it seems fine. then you start to trust it and start to listen to the lecture instead of staring at the app and bam! 30 minutes to an hour of important lecture material gone. Very frustrating, I wish it would work. Also lags when doing notes, you can't type too fast, have to wait for it to catch up, and in the mean time the lecture goes on while you are waiting to put a note in.

Top-notch. Top-notch voice recorder organizer app that will make you use everyday. Packed with lots of great features I am not sure where to begin. My favorite part of the app is ability to organize recordings in files, being able to attach photos and I love syncing it with my mac book pro. Recording in the background while device is locked is a great feature and can be handy sometimes. Editing a recording is super simple and fun. Overall great app with lots of fantastic features. I have not even touched the native app once since I got this. Highly recommended.

Great design, flawed execution. The eXtra Voice Recording app fails to constantly run in the background (or when device is locked) a large majority of the time. I am forced to leave the app running, adjusting my iPhone 6 settings to avoid it from falling asleep. I love the original Mac OS version of this software; it's a shame this companion app is so unstable. A suggested feature could be to allow the app to navigate within its file system (and perform simple tasks like renaming other recordings simulateously) without disrupting the current recording session.

Good App but Seems to have a Bug. I use this app on my MacBook as well as my IPad. The app has been working very well for me over the past couple of years, especially as a Uni student, however I found of late the app seems to be crashing a lot on my IPad and it has been draining my MacBooks battery and sticking to the point where its difficult to start and stop the recording. It is definitely the app and not my computer because when I quit the app my computer functions normally. With respect to my IPad the app opens and then within a minute just crashes. Please fix as soon as possible as I rely on this app for recording many of my classes.

Broken I want my money back. This is a terrible app. When I installed it, it popped up and said it will not run with iOS 11. It doesn't even run on my iPhone 6 Plus. It hasn't been updated since 2014, three years ago. I regret paying my one dollar for it. I wish I could get my money back.

So much potential. I think this will be a good program. However the touch function is tricky; I had to experiment to find the right 'peck' to invoke a function. Great once you know what each icon does. Unpredictably stops recording without indicating that the recording has stopped. Frustrating to find that I have missed part of the lecture. Embedded instructions would help. I think that I'm really going to like this app if I can used to it

For free. I just got this through an apps of free app and was charged the full amount. Even now when it says 40% off. I have no idea if I find it workable for me yet.

Abandonware. 3 years without an update and the app is still be sold and still being bundles. No question, this qualifies as abandonware.

Bad. The interface is so confusing and very hard to use. No recording button. I regret that I purchased this app and spent money.

I think it's decent. I don't know what the bad reviews are about. It works fine. A loop repeat and copy file would be worth another star.

Doesn't work. I couldn't get it to record anything. I verified it had permissions to use the mic, but nothing. So either is just doesn't work or the UI design is so bad you can't figure out how to make it work.

Disappointing. Dropbox link doesn’t work and editing names after recording started is hard or impossible.

eXtra voice recorder. It's a really good App. I don't a lot of recording, but it definitely seems to work for my needs.

Excellent Recorder & Editor. You can organize your recordings, add book marks to them, edit them open old files & continue your recording where u left off,,u can trim them, cut the unwanted parts, split them into multiple files, add transcripts in the Notes/Comment section ... I requested a button to also play all the contents of a folder with 1 click in addition to current play mode & the developers response was prompt & promising.

I really like it!. Very easy to understand and very useful for organizing lessons.

I lost all of my recordings.. I loved this Pro app and used it ALL the time. Then it froze. Then it started aborting when I opened it. Now I can’t even open it and all of my recordings are gone. I had them backed up to iCloud but I can’t see them there so even that didn’t work. It’s criminal.

Great idea, but how to record?. There is no recording button, or stop or pause and so on. How is it a recording thing?

Still Good!. Works fine. Lots of features. Edit audio, Dropbox connect, good sound quality, easy to operate. Also has bookmarks ability (which can be added during playback as well as during recording). (iOS 12.3.1)

Lost lecture recordings!. It worked great for the first 20-30 minutes I used this app to record in my lecture class. But I soon found out that it kept freezing and erased the entire lecture I had recorded! I want a refund!

Can't take pictures at all. Seems like a good app overall, but I can't take pictures whatsoever in my iPad mini with iOS 8. I want a refund, if it won't work. Just contacted the support, hopefully they get back to me. Will give 5 stars if my problem is solved.

A great start. This is a great first version of the app and works well with the Dropbox integration. It's great to have access to my recordings on my phone. The interface could use a lot of work though. It's not very intuitive, and it's much too difficult to create a new recording on my phone. I still use the iPhone voice memo app for that.

I should have known better. Too inconvenient to start a new recording. Where are the great features they promise?

Disappointing!!!. Just purchased, booted up, and there is no intuitive path to initiating a recording. The hype in the App Store refers to"hot-keys" yet there's no path to create them, or what/where those keys are if they do exist. I've sent 2 email to "Support" - which shouldn't be necessary just to understand how the program works, as there appears to be no online manual or video explaining the basics. An appeal to Apple for a refund will be the next step tomorrow. So far, a waste of time and money, and an embarrassment for Apple.

Doesn't perform most basic function. The app itself is a great idea, sounded exactly like what I needed for recording and organizing my lectures. Quickly realized however, that it couldn’t even perform its most basic function, make a recording. It’ll stop recording (for no apparent reason) about halfway through (or whenever for that matter), your recording, making the app’s most basic functionality completely unreliable and therefore making the app itself absolutely useless. Nonetheless I've emailed the developer twice now, with no response and clearly no inclination to fix the app. I'd consider changing my review if the app was fixed but this situation is still absurd. I've lost countless important segments of lectures because of the complete failure and unreliability of this app.Save yourself $5 and take the time to manually organize the recordings you can acquire through iOS’s native recording app.

Best I've Found. This is the best recording application that I have found for my iPhone. The only time I ever had trouble was when I tried to record one segment for 40 minutes. When I keep the files shorter, it works so very well!

Horrible experience. I was recording a meeting and all seemed fine. The red recording bar was showing. But after the meeting I went to go stop the recording and it was already stopped with the counter stating 0 seconds recorded. Whole hour recording lost. Don't bother with this app.

Good app, could use UI improvements. I really like the app for recording ideas for songs. It's got good editing capabilities, but the scrubbing is tedious and the UI was confusing for a while.

Doesn't link to box.net. I gave this four stars because it does a lot and only 7 MB worth of code which is pretty small which means you guys did a great job coding. I couldn't give you five stars because you don't link the box.net. This is way better and more Secure than dropbox plus they give you 15 GB of free space right off the top which is What you really need if you're going to be doing a lot of audio recording. You also need a dark screen or night mode button as many times you record in dark places and light pollution bothers people. Fix this issues and I will give you five stars!

Useful. I use this when I am in meetings, interviewing students, or trying to keep my thoughts straight. I love that I can add photos to certain sections of audio giving me a visual and making it easier to find. Mainly I am a folder freak, so I love that I can really keep everything organized.

Great audio features. Mediocre note taking features.. Here's how to make the most awesome note taking app ever: take the audio editing features of this app and combine it with the note taking features of Notability. I keep both apps on my devices waiting for the day one of them gets it right. But even though I have both, when push comes to shove I use Notability for the great notes features.

Please please address shortcomings. I want to use this but it's not reliable, too buggy and quirky. Recording stops randomly or it will crash and there goes 90 minutes of lectures with notes and pictures. Please support the people who gave you money, it hasn't been updated since 2014.

Very Useful for in-person audio; Will NOT record phone calls, FaceTime, or Zoom.. PROS: This app is super useful for in-person recordings. No time limit that I’m aware of. I’ve recorded up to 9 hours of audio. It’s simple to use. CONS: The app pauses the recording if you take or make a phone call, FaceTime or Zoom. 6/6/2021

Easy to record and edit!. I have tried lots of voice recording applications and most of them are either really cheaply designed or you can easily edit them and cut out the parts you don't like. This one is really easy to edit and is very straightforward and works well.

Very buggy. The photo function doesn't work on my ipad and the record function doesn't work on my iphone.

Buggy. Synchronization does not work solid with Dropbox. folders keep appearing even when deleted on both sides. It hangs up also often when recording in background.

Suggestions. Add prominent button to start a new recording (this should be a no-brainer: the current button is tiny and not at all intuitive) Settings-recording quality: change "middle" to "medium"...

Confusing at first. At first I had a difficult time in figuring out how it works but once I got use to it it has worked well for me.
