A truly beautiful masterpiece. Every once in a while a game comes along that is truly life changing, momentous, and horizon scaling. I have never felt such joy, or been tantalized in a way like I have been when I played this game. My only suggestion is including a good techno soundtrack to play while I’m combining numbers so I don’t have to hum Darude’s Sandstorm while I’m playing. God bless John 3:16

Absolutely Amazing. Absolutely amazing in every way, this game has been my favorite time waster for over 4 years. But beware, this game is highly addictive and can cause prolonged distractions. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.

2048. Great game! Amazing graphics and you can swipe very fast. One thing that I think could be improved is that it could be linked to Game Center. That way my friends can compete for high scores. Also, we should be able to do undos for more than one move. It is really fun though.

Resets all the time. I had been playing a game for a few days, on and off, and I finally worked my way up to over 300k worth of points, went back in to continue and the game had reset and started a new one. This isn’t the first time - so frustrating. Happened so much, that now I’m deleting the app.

Amazing game but... I wish there was a way to manually save because when you have a really high score and it sets you back 30,000 points and you have to do what you did again that is really annoying and makes the game a lot less enjoyable

Perfect mobile game. It’s a great game to whip out on a car trip. I’ve played the game maybe ten hours over the past couple of months and just got 8192. I like how it is a lot about strategy especially since you can undo to manipulate rng which is very balanced. Definitely recommend

2048 is awesome. Every body needs to play this game but there’s too many 2048 games when I search it so is this game copy writed or I forgot just stop making so many 2048 games

Ads ruin the experience. The game was great. I liked the colors on this better than others. Previously, the ads were bearable. They claim that the update didn’t add more ads — maybe they think that’s true, but the ads that existed before generally to upgrade the game. Occasionally there would be ads for other games. Now, there’s ads for all kinds of annoying stuff — one even tried to get me to turn on my location for 2048. The location of the close ad button has changed. It used to be in the upper right corner consistently. Now, the close area unpredictability changes. More often than not, the click target is small. Both of these issues leads to accessibility clicking the ad. The trickery is unacceptable. I’ve deleted this game from my phone

Poor swipe detection. A slightly diagonal swipe can get interpreted as a different direction than you meant. The game needs to wait for a little bit longer swipe before moving the tiles. I've played several 2048 games, and this is the only one that misinterpreted swipes. I played this game once, up to 256, and it had already misinterpreted 2 swipes. Forget it, that's way too twitchy swipe detection for this kind of game. UPDATE: the developer says I was touching the screen with multiple fingers, and to turn off the “extended swipe” feature. But I wasn’t touching with multiple fingers. I reinstalled the game and turned off extended swipe. The game still interprets even super-slight movement of my ONE fingertip as a full swipe. It’s still way too sensitive and interprets touch input before there’s enough input to accurately identify the overall direction of the swipe. I’m using an iPhone 6.

Love this game. So much fun, if you want to have a time consuming game this is definitely the game for you! Just don’t get too into this game or it will probably end up with you throwing your phone across the room and possibly breaking it

Just wish there wasn’t sound. The sound in the game is great and satisfying for the first little but, but after a while it gets pretty annoying. Also a big downside, you can’t listen to music while you’re playing. I am addicted to this game, and music, but I just wish I could listen to the music uninterrupted. Otherwise it’s a great game.

Why does it restart????. 2048. Great game!! It’s a great pastime and a very addictive game!! The only thing, is every time I turn of my device and get back into the game, it restarts. Everything. My high score, my system preferences, and it forgets that I know how to play! I love the game, but please fix this!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaa man!!!!!!!

I don’t know what to say. Heya! I mostly like this game. MOSTLY. Why you ask? I don’t know, maybe because it’s basically useless to play? So... I was playing, and the got off and came back in like an hour. My progress was lost! Not the stats ( who even cares about them? ). I was on like 4096 and more, but it bought me to when I didn’t have a single 2048. It happens wayyy too often now. Also, it’s getting very very boring. It’s fun for about a month ( when you are still a noob ) but then you just run out of goals... so yeah... add stuff!!! Why not??? We’re all literally locked down! I don’t know if I would recommend this. It’s boring, as I already said.

Can’t turn the sound off.. Would probably be a lot more fun to play if there was a way to turn off all the swooshing noises. Even when I try to turn my phone on silent and turn the volume all the way down, the stupid noises are on at full volume all the time. That’s why I gave up and deleted the app.

2048. I totally love 2048. It’s hard to stop playing the game. A good friend got me started and now she’s got my son playing it to. We try to beat each other’s scores.

Edit: HAS a sound button....... Original review: It’s a fun game but I get annoyed having to turn off my phone’s sound to play Edit review: apparently I’m an idiot. I never realized that clicking the “2048” square in the top left there’s a whole menu of buttons. Yay!!

2048. I love the undo button. You can only use it one but you can make a move and use it again and again. Cheating but worth it not to start over all the time.

Great!!! Just a few problems😕. I LOVE this game so so much. It's super relaxing and very addicting😂. However, the adds are a little annoying. I don't really like how you have to pay actual money just to get rid of those adds. Otherwise, i really do think this game is very very good, I definently recommend it (as long as adds dont annoy you).

I KNOW HOW TO WIN!!!. I learned this trick from my father, if you never move up you can win the game but if you ever move up once(and I have found that this is true) a few moves after you move up, you end up dead. SOOO if you want to beat the game(and then go even feather than 2048) NEVER MOVE UP.

Wish I could turn the sound off. It’s nice and I like to play it while listening to podcasts before bed, but when you use headphones, there’s swiping sound effects that you can’t turn off. It’s not relaxing, it’s very annoying lol

What i love to play in my free time! Can you just add this?. Okay so this is just a small suggestion, could you add arrow pads on the corner because im pretty used to the computer version, and i use the arrow keys alot.

Great game, hate the sound. Please turn off the sound or give us function to turn it off. It turns on randomly and I can’t get it to stop unless I turn down all the volumes on my phone. Thanks.

Ads Have Made my Favorite App Unusable. Edit: recv’d response from dev that all ads have x’s in corners. this simply isn’t the case. some ads started coming with app store buttons to close instead of the x’s, and increasingly ads started showing up with none. when i couldn’t find any, i even blindly tapped the corners where they usually are. clicking into the ad and returning with < 2048 in upper left still reveals no x. on iphone 12 pro max; 15.3.1. i played the game many times a day, trying to keep my 2048 tile time under 10min, and 4096 under 22min. i’m pretty sure i’m not being stumped by the ad close button between games, but i could be wrong…i was getting ad server errors intermittently as well with something like “index?foo&bar could not be displayed properly.” ///////// The ads have ruined this app. The game itself is a commodity by now, so there are lots of different apps with the same game. The ads they’re serving between games take the app hostsge indefinitely. i’m uninstalling it and using one of the alternatives. it’s just not worth the pain of having to kill the app between each game when there are so many alternatives available.

Wow. This is an excellent time waster that really gets me absorbed and entertained. Finding out they’re the same folks who brought Letterpress, I’m just impressed.

Undo button + swipe sensitivity. Overall, I love this app. Not a lot of iOS apps have the original game’s 10% 4 spawn rate, and the game runs really smoothly. However, I do have two big issues with it. The first is the fact that there is no indication at the game over screen as to whether or not the undo button was used. I’m in a 2048 Discord server where we host tournaments and the rankings are based on the sum of your top legitimate scores, and without being able to see if the undo button was used it is very difficult to see if a score was faked or not, since you can simply toggle the undo off before you die and it will not appear on the game over screen. I feel that it would be better if there was a counter at the game over screen showing how many times the undo button was used over the entire run, regardless of whether or not it is toggled on at the end of the run. My second issue is that I fel that the app is much too sensitive to swipes. I have had this app register a literal tap as a swipe before, even though my finger barely moved at all. This can benefit players who are trying to get a faster time, but I have had games ruined because the app registered a swipe up when there was none. At the very least I think there should be a feature that allows players to adjust the swipe sensitivity to guard against these accidental swipes.

Satisfied. There are only a few words I new do say when we swipe it’s so satisfying I could play for an hour

sc Champion# 4096. I love this game!!! It seems to just keep going until you can’t move. The highest tile I got is the 4096 (and I’ve had this app for a month)! And now I’m working on on the 8182 tile. The adds are a little excessive though, but I totally recommend this game to help enhance your strategic thinking because you have to fit the right tiles together to get the next tile.

Please add these ideas to this game. Love the game it’s relaxing but I have some ideas to make it better 1: please add colors to the game once you make it to 4096 the black color gets a little bit boring so make a color scheme please. 2: add different grids to the game like 3x3 and 5x5-8x8 because I’ve got to the point we’re I’ve got so high I can’t get higher because there’s not enough room so add more grids please. 3: please add more then one undo make it five so people can make more progress, and please fix the undo glitch sometimes when I need to undo I Press the button and it doesn’t undo and I have to restart and that’s annoying so please add these to the game Thankyou.

Disruptive adds. I have stopped using this otherwise delightful game app because the pop up ads occasionally come up with loud audio, can’t be turned off easily, or both. It’s otherwise free but that is too much.

Good for the brain. It’s a bit addictive! Sometimes I have to delete it from my phone but I always put it back again. Love that it helps me think strategically about how each move affects the other. Getting 2048 becomes quick and easy....it’s getting 4096 that becomes the challenge. For now...

Best game ever. 2048 is so much the best I love it because you could just keep going but if you fill in the hole board and there’s no numbers that you can swap you can’t win you lose I know how annoying that is but this game I just can’t stop playing it I asked my dad if you know where my iPad is because I want to show him how good this game is

Cash Grab with Ads. I was disappointed to find the original version of the game has been corrupted by the publisher with ads, and an expensive ad removal option. Because this game is not original work, the creator did not want it monetized. When ads were originally introduced, the fee was also considerably less. I didn’t mind paying that time, but now the ads are back and for much more money. This is just a greedy publisher trying to cash in. If you’re looking for a replacement: try the game that inspired 2048, “Threes”. Update following the developer’s comment: If the confusion stems from use of the word “original” in the first sentence, I’m referring to this version as the original 2048. If you mean generally: there’s no originality to the game itself. The game is an intentional clone of Threes according to the creator, who made the game in a weekend as an exercise. The creator also stated this game should never draw profit because it is not original work. That information is available many places online. I did reach out via email before this review, and was brushed off by the developer.

Mostly great. Great game but the swipe detection is off. Most of the games I play are eventually lost because it misinterprets a move. It’s too sensitive I think. There is an undo button though, so it’s really just an annoyance. It’s otherwise pretty perfect.

Swipes still inaccurate. Too many games are ruined when I swipe one direction and the game misinterprets it as another direction. Just now I was well on my way to 4096 tile when a misregistered swipe sabotaged my game. No fun. This game claims to be the original, and it’s critical of the imitators. But the imitators are clearly better developers. Maybe you should hire them instead of complaining that they stole your IP when they have done a better job bringing it to life.

Inappropriate Ads. So. I downloaded this app, because of its rating which was better than the other 2048 game. But guess what. I have two cousins, and they were playing the game and an inappropriate ad showed up. Like, really inappropriate. They are less than 10 years old. This is a fun and relaxing game but the inappropriate ads should stop.

Add’s 😬. Like many games nowadays the ads are holding it back from being a fun time waster,we need for that are like early internet games

Love this game but maybe I remember directions wrong. I love this game and reinstalled after not having it over a year . However, I thought when I hit a button to move, just that button moved , not the whole side . Is this a change in the game?

broke my pb but the cost is seeing these blocks when i close my eyes. a few years ago i rage quit and deleted the game when i messed up on getting 16k. Today, I’ve broken my pb and got to 65k. I think I’ll stop now so I can stop seeing these blocks when I close my eyes. But hey, good puzzle game.

Perfect. Good balance of difficulty and no re-do make this simple and addictive little game particularly rewarding. Pay the price and ditch the ads for max enjoyment. I only have a few games on my IOS devices and this one that I’ll be keeping for good. Good support too. I complained about a small problem and got a response in less than an hour. Kind of amazing really.

Great game but has issues. Great game overall but always such a bummer that my high scores keep getting deleted randomly and that if I pause and come back it resets my game.

Great!. I am going to compare this app to the other app named the exact same as this one. This one doesn’t track your location, etc. The other one in the App Store does! I wish this one could switch from game modes (2048 and 2048: Fibonacci). Overall, it’s pretty good!

Fantastic game!. This game is very well designed and as smooth as can be. There are no issues. (I’m glad I ignored negative reviews, there is nothing wrong with this game.) I like this better than Threes. It’s challenging but not frustrating at all. Very fun. I haven’t gotten super far yet, but I know I will at some point! I like that it saves your progress at all times, so if you have to close the app you can continue later. This is a must for busy people. Everything about it is well done. I immediately paid to remove ads. There are no other IAPSs. This a great game by a great developer. Thank you!

Beware of damaging your thumb!. The game is nice and tend to be addictive. However - after a few hours of playing over a few days, i got pain in my thumb (stopped playing, but it continue for more than a week). Unlike most games, this one rely on fast and repeated movement of the thumb. I never had pains with any other games or phone usage. App developers: please add warning on this, and give recommendation for a break every 20 minutes or so. Explain why and count total game time. This is the responsible thing to do with the specific movement this game requires. Even for people that does not suffer pain - I am sure it is damaging for long term.

Niburanir. It is very relaxing & I like the “undo” button. Sometimes it does go in a different direction than I planned & the undo can correct the last move.

Really fun but game keeps crashing!. This is a super simple, fast and very addictive game. Every few days, however, it freezes for a few moments. After a few more games the screen goes white when I open it and will not start unless I completely restart my iPad. Very frustrating and I’m about ready to give up!

Space. Very fun game I really enjoy one problem is that I feel like the space should be bigger because then it feels like I barely have any space. But all around five stars!

DON’T BOTHER with this game. Swipe detection is flawed, as it’s been for years. In other words, sometimes when you swipe one way with your finger, the tiles slide a different direction. And it happens fairly frequently. And you can only undo one step, so if you’re playing fast and you swipe twice before realizing the game behaved incorrectly, you’re screwed. No, I’m not kidding. The game is THAT incompetent. Can you think of another game that has FREQUENT errors like this? It’s disgraceful. And there’s only one step of undo. I think the programmer needs to admit that they are too incompetent to implement the swipe detection properly, so the only way to salvage the game is to give more steps of undo to fix the game’s frequent errors. Imagine how frustrating it is to get to a high score and then have the game ruined by the buggy swipe. Do yourself a favor and choose a different version of this game.

Best version of 2048. A lot of nice quality of life features! Make sure to check out all the options by pressing the big 2048 button. Best of all: no annoying little add banners that interrupt music or podcasts you have going on in the background.

Like butter on toast.... The app plays smoothly, more so than the site. I got a 4096 with a 1024 so I've played a *lot*. It's an addictive game that is relaxing and yet strategic. The principle is simple enough: merge same values together, but there is a random chance of where the next tile will appear that keeps you on your toes. Tips: choose a corner and swipe towards the corner only. Only swipe away if you must. Clear the clutter. Snake towards your corner. Have fun! Edit: the new version keeps track of your time and number of moves and gives you props! Still fun and strategic.

Addictive. I finally beat 2048, but this game is great if I want a quick break. Very difficult to put down once I start playing.

The best version. The best app version from the original developer. As I know this is the only one which remembers your previous game state even if you kill the app from the ram. Without that I could hardly make my 8196, it takes an hour!

Getting sucky. The earlier versions were a perfect time killer. Quick and nasty. With the past 2 or 3 version updates, it's slowed down a lot--a lag so noticeable that in the middle of an intense session, my swipe doesn't go through and my next intended swipe goes through instead, leaving my carefully planned strategy in disarray!! This game makes my brain happy. A lovely mix of strategy and chance and simplicity. It's easy to pick up and put down, so it's great for transit. I found this game first through online versions. I'm happy to support the person who actually made the game!! I do miss my dumb fandom pictures though... Even a couple different colour themes would be nice.

Unfortunately the app is a bit rushed - no button to get you back to the menu from the timed game, no high score list (just a highest score visible when playing) and really no changes to the web game which works as well or better. How about colour options, skins, high score list, navigation buttons?

Made Me Very Very Mad!. Twice now, updates have completely wiped all of my statistics! Wh do they have to do this?! Can't you make an update that doesn't wipe all statistics causing to start over? This is a very simple game, there should be no reason to wipe all statistics with an update!

2048. Perfect combination of chance and skill. I can spend time on it happily yet walk away easily.

Frustrating. I’ve never played a game that worked so hard against me. I’ve played other 2048s and have never had so many “misswipes” or bad number placements. It does everything in its power to keep you from winning.

Good but needs another option to be great. Please add ability to save and restart from a saved game. Then it will deserve a rating of 5 stars.

Swipe issues. I used to play this game years ago and I just started playing again. Now I remember why I stopped playing coz the board has its own brain and just doesn’t follow my swipe 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s annoying

Changes my score. Sometimes when I stop playing after I started a new game, when I go back the next day to play it returns to the previous game that I quit. Then I have to start over again.

Colors need changing. I like it but probably will delete it. The color of the number blocks need to be different. Too many blocks are similar in color, like the 2 and the 4. My eyes need more distinctive colors.

Ads. If you’re mad abt the ads, just use airplane mode, with not internet service, an add can’t pop-up

Great for the kids.. It’s great for the kids because, it helps them with math during this pandemic.

This is great. You can play with your fingers and at the same time do logic puzzles like who doesn’t like that

Sluggish and battery vampire. This app drains my iPhone 6 battery so fast that I dare not play unless it's charging. Tile movement is sluggish even with no other apps running in the background. Love the game but not the implementation.

Doesn’t respond to sliding. This was a great app until the latest “fix” which delays or takes the wrong action when swiping. That destroys patient build up that the player has done in one or two swipes. Games should play fairly and not have moves that are contrary to what the player played.

Among us ripoff. this game is an among us ripoff!!! i got scammed and paid 20 bucks for the among us blanket and pillow. help me someone!1!1!1!1!111!!! (i didnt get the pillow and blanket)👉👈

Update wiped top score. Just opened my app to instructions on how to play the game and my top score is gone. Still love the game.

Update for bigger iPhones, and iPad. Longing for update since 2014. Since then, bigger screen iDevices have emerged — iPhone 6s+ Also, and iPad version is a must. I also echo those minor improvements that have been mentioned by other reviewers. UPDATE: kudos to the developers for bringing this app to iPads!! landscape mode, iCloud support (game sync) would be a great addition to new features.

Dangerous. This is a great game, but I have had to delete it twice because if pop up ads in Russian and Korean, which have no way to X out.

Awesome game but undo is broken. After the recent update the undo stopped working about 1% of the time. Please fix.

Good Game. This game is super fun and has barely any ads. It is pretty simple to get the hang of, and a good way to keep me occupied.

Love this game. I got obsessed when I tried to beat my friends score and now I can’t stop playing and I will get to 2048 someday!

Updates erase stats. I enjoy this game, but every time it’s updated, my stats are wiped. I hope the developers will fix this in future updates.
