This app needs fixing. - Doesn’t allow remote start via app. - Needs a dark mode feature so the blaring white background of the app doesn’t burn your eyes out at night. - Commands can take atleast 2 minutes to complete (such as remote locking/unlocking). - The vehicle locate feature never works (tried a variety of places where I would assume the car should get decent reception for however it wirelessly communicates with Honda’s servers. - The only thing that’s useful is seeing when your vehicle needs maintenance and being able to schedule it through the app.

Sometimes useful, when it works. This app can connect to your vehicle and give useful information such as mileage, recommended service, and recalls. It’s a great idea. Unfortunately, it doesn’t reliably connect and pull the data when you get in your vehicle. The recall scheduling, didn’t work for me either. In short, this app is nothing more than a manual way to store a quick reference of your vehicle’s service recommendations and information on your phone. Some may find this useful and others may find it too much of a chore. I think if the data pulled automatically this app would be worth having. With a manual syncing process and the recall scheduling not working, I can’t recommend this app.

Serious bugs. I have had this app for one year and three months. Prior to a recent update on 25 April 2019 the app performed adequately in that I could keep track of battery charge status for my 2018 Clarity Plug In Hybrid. However, it always suffered from unresponsive controls. For example, it once refused to turn climate control on remotely despite repeated commands. As of the 25 April 2019 update the app fails to even display battery charge level. Moreover, the odometer reading is at least one day old and is also not updating. At the moment the app does not function at all on my iPhone 8. Even repeated attempts to refresh the app have failed to result in an update to its display. It is disappointing that Honda cannot solve these problems in over one year. The car itself is terrific but Honda has much to learn about mobile apps and telematics.

I miss my GMC. I bought a Honda Pilot in December 2019 and I was expecting to be able to have the same capabilities that I previously had with my GMC App. The only thing that I wanted for sure was to be able to remote start my car from the App. There is NO such capability with this app. The GMC App was so user friendly, but the Honda Link app is not. Every time I crank my automobile it pauses everything on my phone while it connects to the car. It always messes with my blue tooth connectivity when I’m making calls. I always have to disconnect and make my call again in I’m on the phone when I get in the car when on the phone. I originally thought all the static issues I was having with the sound was connected to the App, but I’m still not for sure about that. They may not seem like big issues but it makes me not want to buy this brand of car ever again.

Why even have this HondaLink app. I am shocked at the poor quality of the HondaLink app. It certainly isn’t up to Honda standards. It could be so much more. I have a 2018 CR-V which I love. If I want updated information on my HondaLink app, I have to delete the HondaLink app and then reinstall it. If this was a Honda car would you sell it. I don’t think so. So why are you putting such a dysfunctional app out there for us to use. This is a major disappointment especially when my friends have Fords, Chevys, BMWs, GMCs, etc. and have great apps for there vehicles. I just say I haven’t installed my HondaLink app yet. I am embarrassed to let them know what little information it has on it for my car. Everyone can start their car from their phone which I can’t. You should start over with this HondaLink app and make us Honda owners proud of a app that Honda has made for us to use.

No value for CRV Owners. If you own a CRV this app is nearly useless. The only information here is what you’d find on your dashboard when sitting in your car, and it’s not information anyone would care to have in hand or taking up space on their phone. The app is not well designed, even I noticed a few typos while I was getting setup. There’s honestly no useful information in the app. I don't know why I have the app. Maybe, just maybe, the schedule a service appointment will work. I’m really skeptical. Other than that thanks for letting me know how many miles are on the car? I just don’t see why this was presented at as a perk. It’s just useless. I’m including 2 stars to account for some value that an owner of one of Honda’s more luxury vehicles would get. Am I supposed to be insulted that the posh owner of a beautiful Pilot is offered the same app with better features? As if I was non the wiser? Wow—oil usage is at 80%? Gosh, sure happy Honda creates and app that can divide by 100. I guess it’s not about Honda. It’s about me. For CR-V owners like me I’ll suppose we’ll just pound sand and eat leftovers like the plebeians Honda wants to remind us that we are with such preferential treatment.

Missing Features. I have a 2023 Honda Pilot. The app told me to upgrade for remote start and lock/unlock door features. After upgrading none of these are available. The app itself provides very little benefit of using. Overall a misleading experience recommend not wasting your time downloading. **UPDATE** Logging into app today all of a sudden the remote features are now available. (Delay after upgrading? Wish they would have let me know) Updating my score to reflect. If everything continues to work as intended would recommend.

Piece of junk app!. What a waste of time and money! Paid for the subscription to be able to use the app as a remote. Really wanted to have an option of a remote start of my van in these hot days. Was going to use this future to pre cool the vehicle in summer by remotely starting the engine. Instead I got a useless app that crashes my iPhone every time I want to do something in the app. It just shuts down my iPhone and I have to manually turn in on again. But this is not the worst part. The app is just useless in my case. It would NOT recognize my subscription. I mean I’m logging in using my Honda account credentials, then adding my vehicle using the VIN number and nothing! Just blank screen. It shows me my vehicle at the top of the screen, but says that all my subscriptions have expired. All the fields are blank, like there is no connection to my vehicle. I’ve called Honda support, was told that they will investigate my case and find the problem then will call me back. It’s been a few days already and nothing has changed. Every time I call they’re saying that technical department is still working on my case. I own other vehicles from different manufacturers and their apps are working just fine and customer support is very responsive, but not Honda’s. Very disappointed! By the way, the vehicle is 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite, and it has no problems, in my family everyone loves it. I hope that Honda will pay more attention to issues with their software.

Needs improvement. The biggest missing feature is an anti charge schedule. While the app allows you to set one charging schedule, which is helpful if you are only charging once a day, what we really need is for the car to charge whenever it’s plugged in unless it is during specific time. This would be helpful if you want to avoid charging during peak hours when electricity costs are higher, or if you only want to charge while you’re generating electricity from solar p els. The problem with the current schedule is that if you unplug the car for a trip, the car doesn’t automatically start charging when you plug it back in, because the car waits until the next start time. You have to remember to go back into the app and manually start the charge, which often takes a long time to load, and sometimes fails.

Works but not all the time, annoying features. A fair amount of the time when trying to start the car, it doesn't do so and says "Couldn't reach our servers." I'd understand if I had poor connection or anything but no, that's not the issue. When it actually does start the car, it's only in ten minute increments and you can only do it twice... What's the point in limiting the time I have my own car that I paid for started? Not only that but in a service where I am paying you guys to be able to do this, that shouldn't happen. I should be able to do so however long I wish. The temperature meter doesn't update actively, you need to restart the app. Then it's not always guaranteed it will connect. I don't really use the app for anything else so it's very annoying that the features I do use don't work the way they should.

It was ok…. When I bought my 2021 Passport and downloaded the app, I thought it was just “ok.” I was surprised that it didn’t have remote start as the 2013 base model Acadia I traded in had. Other than that, it covered the basics. However, in the past few weeks, the app has continually told me that I needed to pair it with the car. The problem is that the car and phone both showed the Bluetooth to be connected. Today, I decided to delete and reload the app. Alas, it won’t load. Unless I can figure that out, the app is useless to me. (And yes, I called support. They told me that I needed to re-pair the connection. I told them I had. They had no other answers.)

Great but needs a little upgrading. Great functionality, but the vehicle location function doesn’t work while the car is being driven and moving. Why can’t a car with Wifi HotSpot cannot be located makes no sense. This is something that should be added so owners can use the function and have the ability to locate the car when needed. Beyond that, all the other abilities are useful and really make life easy. The lack of tracking ability is why I gave it only 4 stars. If they update it and make it available I will change it to 5.

Good but needs more. I just bought the new Clarity plug-in hybrid, and I like how this app shows the current charge status and range of the vehicle. It also allows me to start the climate pre-conditioning remotely. It's really clean and easy to use. However... It's frustrating that the charge status doesn't update anywhere close to real time. The page refreshes, but the charge status lags by as much as two hours sometimes when it's on my home outlet (120v), which is pretty useless. There's no way to get it to"force refresh" that I can tell. So far, there's also a missed opportunity here in that it could interface so much more with the infotainment system, allowing you to explore and change your settings, upload pictures and apps, etc., from anywhere. Feels like they rushed it out. Which is fine if there's a future version with more functionality planned. I only wish they'd share what the future plans are and when they plan to do more with it.

Honda is missing the mark.. I love my Honda Accord of which I have had 3 since my driving days began, the newest being my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. The HondaLink app however, is horrible. I feel the app doesn’t live up to the Honda name. It is laggy, super slow and just outdated. I also have a GMC and a Ford vehicle and their apps are miles ahead of HondaLink. GMC’s app has a new and beautiful layout and Ford has things like scheduled start. I don’t understand in our high tech/high convenience world how Honda has not put more funding into their app. It just seems super dated from the layout to the speed in which it works. I definitely do not plan on renewing my subscription after it ends this year. I mean FordPass is even free and is better, at least put the money we have to pay in to use HondaLink toward the app itself and it’s future development. I look forward to the day my HondaLink has an update with the words “Major app overhaul” in the update description.

$110/yr for nonfunctional app. I initially couldn’t believe that Honda would charge $10/mo for the privilege of using the technology that’s built into the 2023 Accord Hybrid I purchased. It’s no different than saying that you need to pay an additional $10/mo. for the brakes to work. My 2021 Subaru Outback came with a FREE app that does the same things as Honda Link. To make matters worse, Honda customer service can’t determine why my app won’t work after I paid the $110 for a year of usage. The money came out of my bank account immediately, but apparently the app “isn’t working well, and you will get an email so you can document that you’ve paid for it. We’ve been having lots of trouble with it.” Honda’s reputation for efficiency and value does not apply to this worthless app.

App pops up every time I turn on the car. This review is not to discuss the merits and features of the app, but to highlight a very poor design decision by Honda to have the app start up on your phone every single time it connects to the car. It’s simply annoying, to say the least. Imagine the user experience: you sit in the car, put the seat belt on, press the ignition button, pull your phone to select a song or grab the address of your destination, only to be stopped mod-action by the HondaLink app, with some useless disclaimers that require at least 3 or 4 clicks before you can get rid of it and get back to what you were attempting to do before being aggressively interrupted. Why would I need to see the odometer and range of my car every time I turn on the car, through my phone, if the same information is available right in front of me on the dash? Dear Honda, if you feel someone would have the urgent need and/or desire to have HondaLink pop up on their phones every single time they start driving, make that an option! Don’t brute force your way into people’s phones and routines. It’s called privacy, respected and a good UX practice too. Final verdict, I could care less for what features the app gives me, it’s been uninstalled. So long, HondaLink!

Laggy and not quite interactive. Sending and receiving commands and statuses takes longer than it should ... I base this off the fact I have it linked via the Alexa App. Send a command via Alexa takes half the time that the app takes. Ironic in someways. There's other annoying items, like can't see the position of the car when it's being driven ?? I'm the owner of the car and the system; I should be able to do this. Also had issues where I can't get the car/app to work, even in places of exceptional cell coverage. It just seems like whatever Honda uses to connect to the car is a subpar data pipe? And.... to top off all this, it's expensive. Probably THE most expensive service I've paid for based on what I get back.

Garbage. This app is trash. I’ve seen similar apps for other makes and they work great, but this one barely even has the basic functionality it advertises. I got this to remote start my car, especially when it’s cold and snowy outside (I live in an apartment and work in a large office building so I don’t have the range to use the key FOB). It hardly ever works on snowy days, but ironically works on days that it’s nice outside and the walk to my car is enjoyable. It’s never had an accurate read for the fuel in my vehicle. It hasn’t update the odometer in months, and when it DOES remote start, it takes forever and displays an inaccurate cabin temp (that never changes either!) The worst part is that there is an annual fee for the service! WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR? Don’t you use some of that money to pay a computer-smart person to repair your trash app? C’mon Honda. I love my car, but you should be paying ME to use this futile app.

A very buggy app!. It is a very buggy app!! I own a Honda Clarity and I downloaded it three years ago to set up my charging schedule. I was able to use it to set up the schedule, but other than that, I do not find it very useful. If I try to use it to start charging out of my normal charging schedule, nine out of ten times it will tell me that it is trying to connect to the sever. Then after all the waiting, a message would come up to tell me that it fails to connect to the server. Also, for the past three years, there has been only one time that I was able to use it to turn on the remote cooling feature and all the other times it fails. I love my Honda Clarity, but definitely not this app. I hope that Honda will put in more efforts to make this app work so that it will become more useful and effective.

BROKEN! Didn’t charge my car last night! >:(. I’m so annoyed at this update! First, the redesigned app completely logged me out so my electric car charged when I plugged it in instead of when electricity is cheap and didn’t give me any notice so I didn’t even realize I wasn’t connected to the App. Now that I am, it worked fine for several weeks but last night, it didn’t charge my car at all! No warnings, no notifications. And it’s annoying that it is constantly trying to start the app whenever I get in the car and start Waze (thank you, Apple CarPlay, for access to an excellent nav app!), always in the way. But the Not Charging thing is really terrible. I’m going to try to set the adjusted charging time through the charger’s app since I don’t think I can trust this app anymore and I can’t just have an empty car when I get up in the morning.

HondaLink is faulty. This is the third Honda I own . I have not ever been impressed by the Honda link app . I have had this vehicle for 2 weeks now. Nor honda in car customer service or the dealer can help me link this vehicle to the app. We can’t even get past terms and conditions without the app crashing , thus not even allow the vehicle to be added . I have had to uninstall the app multiple times and start over with zero success . I’m extremely dissatisfied with the app and the Honda at this point . I should have access to climate control and charging schedule for my clarity but can’t even get access to features I paid for . This very well may be the last Honda I ever purchase . The range is mediocre, and their lack of variety to include a full plug in version is disappointing. The app should at least function to say the least . I have a pending case open for the escalation follow up . I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Everything else on my phone functions just perfect except this Honda app. I’m frustrated because this is not the first vehicle I have issues with the app. Honda has to step up their technology and EV game . It’s not wonder there’s so many Teslas on the road. I have not heard of complaints with the Tesla app. I’m disappointed and embarrassed for getting another Honda.

Honda can do better. Congrats on the new UI and UX. You’ve made the app prettier but also more of a pain to use. Swipe-up/tap at the bottom of the screen to bring up the controls for the car is a terrible idea on an iPhone. Have your QA folks told you what a pain it is to use? The swipe-up-from-bottom-of-screen is a reserved iPhone action that brings up all the apps in a card view. Surely you must have tested this? The previous version of the app at least put the controls in the default view instead of hiding it behind a drawer at the bottom of the screen. Please also fix the situation where when a location is sent to the Honda app, e.g. via Maps, and the Honda app then asks to save the location to favorites instead of sending it to the car. The current behavior is not what users are looking to do outside the app. Also the flash of the pin screen just before Face ID is layered atop is not great. It indicates that a pin is required but the the iPhone authentication mechanism kicks in - this is confusing at best. I expect more from Honda. Please do a better job. You’re almost there!

Slow and Pricey. I have a Honda Odyssey Elite 2019 that is paired with this app. PROS: like the app for the following features: remote start, the lock/unlock doors, security alert and find vehicle. The app also shows how much gas you have and the miles you can travel, the PSI for tires and any alerts or recall messages. It also gives you locations of Honda dealers. CONS: It takes so long for the app to connect to the van. When you access the app and click the start or any function, you will see a line that shows how long you have to wait to connect to the van. Sometimes, it will tell you that the van is not in a good location so the app can’t connect. But, the van is just in front of our house and our room is in the front. I’m thinking if the app is connecting to the van thru its gps that uses the satellite, it should not have that problem. I find the app pricey for $110 a yr subscription and this doesn’t include road side assistance which is another $110. For a few features and some that you don’t really use everyday, $110 is an unreasonable price.

Finicky, rushed and lacking useful functionality. This app could be sooo much more. I have a 2017 Honda Accord Touring. I can remote start it from the key fob, yet for some reason this functionality is absent from the app. Most of the other information isn’t useful. Just about the only thing I can see anyone using the app for would be to schedule maintenance, but then again, who schedules maintenance? When the light comes on you go by the dealership. A much more useful feature would be to allow this app to act as an interface, letting users see the actual codes associated with warning lights so they can find out exactly what’s wrong. As said previously in another review, this app is finicky in the best of times. My phone will already be connected to my car via Bluetooth yet it will sit there saying connecting for few minutes before failing. Overall, this app is hardly what I would expect from a major company like Honda. It needs to be completely tore down and rebuilt from the ground up.

Useless App. I bought a 2022 Honda Accord Touring, love my car but this app is useless. When my trial period for the Remote Package expired I signed up to purchase the Remote Package. First problem it took them weeks from the time I submitted my CC for them to charge the Remote Package on my CC I had to call 3 separate times for them to finally charge it. I was told it would take 24 hrs for the app to update. Well here I am going on over a month and still no Remote Package working on the app. I have talked the people that deal with the app. I deleted the app, I reinstalled it. Deleted the car from the app and entered all the information again and still no Remote Package features on the app. It was supposedly escalated received a call and have not received a call. I was really looking forward to having this feature for my car but what a big disappointment. So now with all this deleting and installing all I see when I open the app is “Connecting to Sedan” and my hands free phone feature is now not working correctly. What a huge disappointment, Honda being such a good car to have features that don’t work and have to pay for them makes it even worse. I’m really second guessing my selection of car that I purchased.

No one can help you. Called to set up my vehicle, sat on the phone for over an hour being passed around from rep to rep.. right when my proof of ownership was approved I was hung up on.. I waited to see if Jack would call me back.. he never did.. I then call back and once again was passed around and none of my information was saved so I had to go through the process again.. just for the man to tell me I need to call them through my car? How do I do that if it’s not set up?? After that I just gave up.. I was wanting to pay for the services, but after that charade I decided it was best not to. In my own opinion, the app seemed cool. But the process to set it up is endless. I really wish I could add pictures to this review to show you the ridiculous amount of times I had to call them back and how long each call was.

Doesn’t work - not reliable. Unfortunately, this app doesn’t work. Every time you get in the car for some reason it opens even though none of the functions you can use while you’re in the car. When you open the app outside of the car the menu to any of the functions doesn’t show up. Keeps cycling. I have closed the application, rebooted my phone, and even reinstall the app and nothing seems to help. The menu loads maybe 10% of the time. Sometimes it even loads and then refreshes and reloads again. When I have gotten it to work, the success rate of starting the car is low. It makes no sense that they don’t show the trip that you previously had until you’ve done another trip of at least five minutes, so you really could be going days if you haven’t driven and not see the last trip. No reason you need to wait for a subsequent trip to see the last completed. Also, the ratings make no sense - it counts against you days that you might drive or time spent in the car which isn’t really in your control. It’s unfortunate as I’ve had other apps that do the same thing for other car brands and they work perfectly. It’s a good thing you get trial to see how bad this is. I’d give this no stars if I could. You would also think after about 125 horrible reviews in the last three months, most of them one or two stars, and only a few that were 3 stars or better, that developers would be a little bit more responsive. And the poor reviews go back much more than a few months.

Useless app. Okay so my 2019 Accord Sport isn’t the top of the line trim. But I saw the Honda link app on the cars dashboard screen so I thought I’d give it a try. I some how expected more from Honda on what the app would give me. Being able to schedule routine maintenance is useless to me. My goal with a Honda is that I never have to back to the dealer until I’m ready for a new car. Basically I can see my mileage and useful oil life. And I’m not sure how and when the app updates with that info. The user guide would be useful if it was model/trim specific since once connected it should know what features are active. I had one “you last parked your car here” with a picture of a map pop up on my phone. Don’t know what triggered it to send me the alert nor has it done it again. Don’t use the Apple car play often unless on a long trip which I guess is when it updates the mileage. I guess I want connected car features and the car isn’t connected.

Frustrating App... worse on value... Sometimes has issues updating status, but everything functional costs like $90 / year or something. Comes with a “free trial” but when I went to activate it, they said it had been past 90 days since I bought the car so I couldn’t start the trial. I figured someone would tell me something like that when I bought it but they didn’t. The sales rep for Honda Link gave zero craps and made it abundantly clear he didn’t care and couldn’t help. Pretty lame to buy a car for $35k and then you find out the ability to start the car from your phone costs extra per month.. seriously Honda? Charge extra for “concierge” but let me start my $35k costing 2019 Accord from my iPhone. This whole experience really made me feel like some number out there instead of any sort of valued customer.

Waste of space and time. I have a 2019 Honda Civic hatchback. When scanning the vin of my vehicle it showed me all the features for my vehicle through the app. Wrong it never worked. Keeps saying Bluetooth connection required. Although it is already connected through Bluetooth. I called the support number and it was a joke. The support rep told me that they would put a ticket in for it to be escalated to the next tier support. Well finally the other tier support gave me a call. After going through all the trouble shooting it was obvious that the app was not going to work with my car. I was told your going to have to wait until a update is available. I asked when that would be and I was thought that support did not tell them that information. After waiting for a update it still is yet to work. Way to go Honda. My 2013 Hyundai worked with the blue link app through Hyundai. It has older technology that my 2 year old car.

Works about 1/2 the time. I didn’t sign up for Honda Link after my free trial because I only worked about half the time and I didn’t want to pay for something that wasn’t reliable. Then I decided I wanted the convenience during our Michigan winters but am again wanting to cancel. It’s worked one day out of the last four this week and at this point I don’t know if it’s worth it. I wish they could fix whatever the issue is as it’s very frustrating. The app seems like it’s freaking out every time I open it and always says Vehicle Status Unavailable. The oil percentage is never correct and the fuel level only updates when it will actually connect to my 2023 Accord. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the app.

Underdeveloped. This app could be so much more but falls short. You can only “start” your car in 10 min timer increments. You have to remember to come back in 10 min to extend it. After two 10 min increments it won’t let you start any more. I say “start” because on my hybrid accord it really doesn’t start the engine to run the AC, it just blows a fan on battery. You should be able to do one 20 min period if you wanted to instead of two 10s or maybe just start it for an hour. It’s my car, if I want it to run for an hour the I ought to be able to do that. You can’t turn on seat heaters remotely. You can’t open or close windows with it remotely. You can’t create a shortcut with Siri so you can say “hey siri, start my car”. It takes forever to establish a connection and actually perform the action your asking for. The “in car temp” doesn’t actually update. It still says 35 in my car but when I get there it’s warmed up a lot more. It doesn’t have an Apple Watch companion to just tap to start. It doesn’t have a pop up notification that your start timer is ending soon and a request to extend another 10 minutes. On and on… like, did they just make the app and forget about it? Where is the development team? Where are the updates? Where is the continued effort to improve???

Slow to Connect and Buggy. I bought the remote services for HondaLink. This app technically delivers what it promises but has a few somewhat large issues: 1) It takes up to 30 seconds to actually send a command from your phone to a car. My friends with other brands of car (including Ford and Toyota) get a response within 5 seconds of requesting an action via phone. 2) The commands seem to fail about a quarter of the time you try to use them, even then the car is parked outside with no obstructions. When they fail, they take even longer to execute 3) If this app is open in the background, it will crash Apple Maps and Messages. The latter don’t start working again until you manually close out HondaLink. This in itself is kind of surprising as Apple’s put a lot of work into sandboxing all of their apps so that they don’t crash one another. 4) The app crashes often. Frankly speaking, I would not have purchased additional services for HondaLink if I knew how buggy this app was. Edit: With iOS 15 this app actually takes longer than before to communicate with my car and now tells me that my car is always unlocked, even though it’s not. I really regret purchasing this service.

HRV and most Civic models left out. You have to read fine print. Dealership says app will work but I discovered after much reading (discovered on App Store not manual) that the app excludes all HRV models and most Civic models. Only high end models like Civic R, Oddessy, Pilot, etc are available. I bought the new HRV Sport that comes with key fob auto start but I was hoping to start it five minutes before end of shift in a factory to warm up my vehicle during winter with the app instead but the app doesn’t allow it nor ability to see maintenance issues so I have to go outside at some point and remote start it and come back in and wait for windows to clear and still take it to dealer when service lights trigger. Other downside is if the window is slightly foggy the camera for lane keep assist and brake assist doesn’t work and can delay your car from driving. Same with my last Civic. They need to modify it so it clears better and doesn’t delay the vehicle from ability to move if needed.

Crap app. Hay Honda, if you think so little of the CRV touring customers why even bother selling the car… seriously.. this app is absolute crap.. I have a 2018 CRV touring and all this app can do is freeze my iphone13 pro max and cause random errors on my infotainment system.. I found the best fix ever.. DELETE THIS CRAP APP and now my phone has no issues and my car… well the infotainment has KNOWN issues that Honda has NEVER addressed sooooo I don’t really expect that they are the best option for an APP.. 😂😂😂.. did I mention this was my 1st and LAST Honda.. I paid cash for my brand new CRV and will definitely be going back to my Nissan Marano….at least everything in my Nissan works and their connection to my phone has always been flawless.. I have had so many issues with this Honda and as you Honda owners know… nothing is an affordable fix.. I absolutely REGRET purchasing this car.. it’s as pathetic as this APP..

Old version was way better. I have this app on my 2019 Honda Pilot touring. The old version would tell me everything from lights left on, door open which one, tire pressure, oil percent and if my vehicle was locked or unlocked. Now because it’s a newer model I wasn’t able to start my suv with the app but I read others could. My vehicle is 2years old and I still can’t do it. Bummer. The new version of this app took all the important stuff out and left me with oil & mileage I am able to unlock and lock but that’s it. I’ve unloaded and reloaded the app to see if maybe I could get these wonder features back but I can’t. And it’s a real bummer. And for some reason it reboots my phone every time I connect to it so not sure what’s that about.

Makes the 2018 Odyssey Even Better. If you own a 2018 Odyssey Elite or 2018 Accord Touring, ignore the majority of negative reviews on this app. Those reviewers failed to comprehend the 3 sentence headline about the app being for these two models only (as of Dec 2017). Free apps have a PR problem with compulsive downloads without applying any upfront effort to understand what problem the app solves. We love our 2018 Odyssey Elite. We previously owned Audis, but our family size outgrew even the full size Audi Q7. This app, when paired with the paid subscription, works flawlessly for us. Remote Start is great on very cold mornings or very hot afternoons. The app shows you the inside cabin temp, and let’s you extend the 10min runtime. Remote Lock is great when you are already in bed and not sure if the you locked the car in the driveway. It’s also great if you don’t have the keys on hand to unlock the car. You can check fuel levels and oil life from the app, as well as find the car if you can’t remember where you parked it (or more importantly your spouse doesn’t remember where they parked the car.) I haven’t used the app to schedule maintenance appointments yet but like the idea if I can remember to use it.

Works great with my 2018 Clarity. Version 3.4.3 downloaded on 3/2/18 to an iPhone 8 works great with my 2018 Clarity. Download and pairing w car was quick and easy even for this 63 year old Neanderthal. Features such as range estimates, battery/charge/status information, climate preconditioning, charging locations, scheduling, etc are working as expected and updating every time I open the app. Only the odometer reading seem slow in updating but eventually gives the correct reading. But really, the odometer doesn’t need to update frequently. Is your car going to go somewhere without you? I can stop/start/schedule charging, see the battery charge state, and get a time remaining for complete charge. App indicated 30% charge and dash gauge had 6 bars and at 70%, 15 bars. I can also schedule the climate preconditioning from my phone whenever I am out of range of the key fob as long as both car and phone can connect to Honda’s server. It appears that the Clarity is communicating by cellular data to Honda’s server and not by satellite or WiFi as some have speculated. Tested/proved this by parking under concrete parking garage where phone said there was no WiFi and I could still connect with Car when distant. I think the negative reviews were either because of old versions or attempted usage on older model Hondas. This app is really for the newer model Hondas. So, bottom line: All features working with no problems.

Works most of the time. Finally updated for iPhone X! Early adopter problems I know lol. Its a good app that works most of the time. The issue I have is with the feedback from the car. The app is slow to update if it even updates the cars status at all. Example I remote start the car sometimes it shows its started and how long its got left to run other times it just gives me a thinking circle and doesn’t update. Additionally the run time remaining doesn’t have live updates (or timer), you have to refresh the screen to get the time to change. Finally I wish it would tell you how many times you can extend the remote start time. Instead it just gives an error if you have exceeded the run time. Also Honda whats up with the super short 10min run time, you can’t heat or cool a car that fast, extend the time or at least let users set their own run time. I will say that the send to car directions works great 9 out of 10 times that I have used it. One time it said it sent but never showed up on the car.

OTA update already done!!! But still unable to get services. I purchased this 2020 Accord Touring about 7 weeks ago. The car is amazing! However, the Honda Link service I was looking forward to using has been nothing short of atrocious. For the last 6 weeks I have been trying to purchase one of the HL packages, but it keeps telling me I need to perform the OTA update that I already performed. I even took the car to the dealership, and they confirmed the update was completed. They also sent up the form to Honda to clear the recall from my car so the service would work. Still nothing. I have been battling w/ tech support for the past 5 weeks. They can see that the update has been performed on there end, but Honda Link can’t. The customer service from tech support has been ok, but the HL associates are terrible. I’m not trying to be rude, but the language barrier is unbearable. I also heard a rooster crowing( if that’s what they do) in the background . So it’s quite obvious they are working from home. To top this off, I received a letter from Honda saying that the update needed to be performed by August. So like a fool, I went to my car and tried to do another update. And just as I thought, the screen said “software is up to date”. I am over this. I feel like Honda owes me a new module. The car is under manufacturer warranty. You would think a company with this reputation would be able to help me with this. I am going to escalate this issue as high as I possibly can.

Junky App (straight my HONDA Tech Support). So right after I got my 2019 CR-V the app worked and connected to give me the basics of oil and car mileage. Nothing fancy, but that’s all you get with the CR-V. Then about a week later it stopped connecting and now hangs up with the connecting screen each time I open the app. Tried everything from deleting the app, deleting the Bluetooth connection, and rebooting my phone and the CR-V infotainment system. Nothing works...then per the app I submitted a trouble ticket. Got a call from tech support but they had no advice and actually stated that this app is “junky” and works better in vehicles that have the pay service and Wi-Fi. The final suggestion they gave me was to do a complete factory reset on my car infotainment system and my iPhone. I was like, yeah right. Anyway don’t waste your time on this app, I was losing sleep at night about it, but today...I just deleted it. That’s all...wish I could ZERO STAR this review, but I’ll have to settle for a ONE STAR. Thanks “junky” app.

What a joke!. So I have a 2018 odyssey elite. After the trial subscriptions, I renewed the remote subscription so that I could start my car from farther then just a few feet (which seems like it with the car key remote). Like inside the store on a hot or cold day etc. And to also lock my car in case I forgot. Well, I do not have the icon box with the van outline indicating if the van is locked or unlocked. After 2.5 months of back and forth calls and cases created and factory resets and deleting apps and cars and all kind of stuff... I’ve been told that I don’t have the box of info because I do not pay for the security subscription. Security is emergency phone call, data wipe, roadside assistance... I pay for remote subscription which includes remote start, remote lock and unlock. It’s completely asinine that I don’t have access to info to see if my car is locked when I pay for the capabilities to remotely lock and unlock it!!!!! This makes no sense!

Had to Call but Works Great Now. I’ve had this app working in my new 2020 Accord for about two weeks now. I didn’t want to use it initially after reading the reviews on the App Store, thinking it was a junk app, but the features were so cool I had to give it a shot. At first, no, it did not work. Only showed the odometer reading and fuel level. Called the support number through the app and spoke with Honda customer service. The tech on the other end was very nice and very helpful. He sent a reactivation signal to my car and voila! Now I can remote start it from anywhere, see the interior temperature, lock and unlock the doors, etc etc. Its a great app, glad I took the time to call and get it working.

Works Nice. I just bought a 2023 Honda Pilot Elite in August, and currently using the trial version .. It’s works great … awesome feature with the remote start, especially when you have kids. I do feel it has a small delay to transmit command (5-10secs) but it’s understandable. Sometimes it’s fast and sometimes that small wait time. At first I didn’t see the car inside temperature in the command window, but now it’s displaying correctly in the upper right corner. Maybe it was a small glitch or got fixed with the update. Overall definitely give credit to the app. Hopefully they keep updating and making the app great !!

Not worth the subscription imo. You have to manually refresh the app it every time you open the app. For example, if you used the app 2 weeks ago, it will show data from 2 weeks ago until you manually refresh. That takes about a minute. It fails to send commands every so often. You have the option to use Face ID instead of your PIN, but Face ID stops working as soon as a command fails. And the app isn’t smart enough to know if your subscription expired or if it’s about to expire. Sometimes I have to log off, uninstall and reinstall the app to get commands to work. Not worth the $10 a month sub fee in the slightest. Maybe once those issues are resolved I’ll take another look.

App won’t work. Week ago I tried buying the subscription so I can have the remote start and it gave me an error over and over again. Then a few days later, I couldn’t even access the subscription section. Now, after the newest iPhone iOS update now I can no longer see my mileage for the car the gas for the car all I can see is the options that are within the app and when I click on any of them, it’s a blank screen I have uninstalled this app multiple times logged out, logged back in with no luck. Then I finally get logged back in and the only option is to access my account by clicking on the account Settings, which is on the main page of the app, when you open it only to see my contact information but nothing in regards to the car. So many other complaints on here about this app you think by now the developers would figure out the issues and get it to work, especially for people who are paying for the subscription and can’t even use it, which is ridiculous and for the ones who want to have it but can’t get it and if they do get it worried that it’s gonna not work anyway so they’re wasting money What is the point of an app if it’s never gonna work and you have so many people angry in regards to it??? What a disappointment!!!

Needs Updated. I think this app would have been great about 5 years ago, when tech was still slower. However, with it being 2024 and having a 2023 Accord, I definitely expected the response rate within the app to be extremely faster. There are some weeks where I don’t drive my car every single day, but for the app to “work,” you have to start it atleast every 12 hours (at least for me, that’s how it is). It’s honestly very annoying not being able to preset my climate in my car because of this. Along with that, it just takes forever to finally load and update. You would think with Honda being a successful car manufacturing company, they would spend more on developing the app that can connect to their cars, rather than spend that money on advertisement. I was hoping these issues were just in the free trial, but I am severely disappointed with my purchase.

Useful But Annoying. I have a Pilot. The information about how much gas you have, tire pressure, oil life, odometer, and whether to doors are locked or not can be very helpful at times. The ability to get the location of your car, activate the lights or horn and unlock the car through the app can be a life saver. But the app is REALLY annoying. Every time you connect your iPhone to your car so you can use Apple CarPlay, the app will automatically start and pop itself to the front. So while you are trying to lookup directions in Google Maps or start a playlist in your music app, the app pops up for no obvious reason and interrupts whatever you were doing. There does not appear to be a way to disable this obnoxious feature. I have no idea why they would make the app do this but I really hope they remove this feature at some point. It would also be nice if I could remote start my Pilot with the app.

Honda did a great job. I really enjoy all of the functionality of this app. It is awesome to be able to check the status of my car (locked/unlocked, fuel and range, oil life, etc.). I especially enjoy being able to remote start the car on days when it is very cold or very hot. It’s much more comfortable to enter a car that is a tolerable temperature. I do wish that it would allow you to know if the windows and sunroof were open and if so remotely close them. Sometimes during the summer I like to vent the sunroof to help heat escape. But if a rain is coming it would be nice to have the ability to close it remotely. Honda is also very responsive to glitches with the app and tech glitches in the car itself. I’ve been 100% pleased with my 2018 Honda Accord Touring.

Used to be better. Sometimes new and improved isn’t what it is all cracked up to be. Sometimes the app does what it’s supposed to do even though it may throw you an error message anyway. The old version of the app worked pretty flawlessly and faster. This app is clunky and filled with bugs and you’re never sure if what you want to do is actually working. Even scheduling an appointment doesn’t work 100% because it doesn’t let you put text in the boxes where they want information. It’s an embarrassment and disappointing that we spend money on your car and then pay an annual fee to use the services provided and then Honda doesn’t have the courtesy to fix the app bugs months after the release of app. You can see the ratings have tanked this year. Get it together Honda, this is not good.

10-minute shutdown and only ONE extension. This app has a ten-minute shutdown timer, which can only be extended once. If there’s a communication error where the app sends the command but the car fails to receive it, you will lose your second extension and a failure message will be displayed. Please fix this issue. There’s is no reason why extending run time should be limited. Also, the app is very slow. Annoyingly slow. Remote start doesn’t turn on seat and steering wheel heaters, which is baffling to me!

bad service. very bad customer service, very bad application, please do not download

So slow.. It's difficult to understand why this app is so slow. It takes forever to connect to car and get feedback no matter what kind of connectivity. Honda, please improve on yeh issues of connectivity, and sluggish responses. Also, why have a fixed 10 minute shutdown, extendable once only. Canadian winters need double that time at least. This should be an adjustable feature in your app.

Needs better iOS integration. Where’s iOS shortcuts support? Where’s iOS live notification support? Where’s Dynamic Island support? It’s 2024 and this app feels like it was made a decade ago.

Very slow. I would prefere for pay app to have be faster sending the mess to the car compare to the Evo that is completely free this app is a joke .

Can’t sub to service. Can’t even subscribe to a service for my van for the app been trying for months , I press purchase subscription and it says no product available and no online agent available

Not fit and align to screen. In the new version the command section is not fit and align to iPhone 15 plus screen.

2024 Civic Touring. Disappointing it doesn’t work properly. I purchased a 2024 Honda Civic Touring and am not able to start or unlock doors with app. I got spoiled with my Ford F150. I should be able to at least keep track of mileage and fuel level but have not been able to update for a week. I have owned many Hondas because of their reliabilty. Love the car. The App is garbage.

Basic App. Honda does not have remote start for pilot even thou it is one of the top of the line product… The App data does not refresh automatically and if refreshed manually it is very slow… Not happy at all

Doesnt work. Doesnt work

No support for 2020 CRV. This has to be a slap in the face for all CRV owners. The most popular SUV that you made you don’t support. Older models like the 2018 Accord touring or the insight allows remote start/stop from the app, but the 2020 Black Edition CRV is not? It makes no sense at all. I phoned customer support and they said there will never be an option for me to have it through Honda link. I can always get support from a third party option with Drone. Come on Honda, do better!

Super slow and doesn’t work half the time. It takes forever to connect to the car, and the pop up menu that is supposed to start the car doesn’t work half the time so I can’t even start my car from the app. And sometimes I will get an error message so it still won’t start. The gas gauge in the app is always wrong in comparison to what the gauge in the car actually says. Good thing this is just a free trial cuz I would not pay for this almost useless app.

HondaL app. This what happens when it's not made in Japan... 🙁

The support and feedback from Honda for this application is completely nonexistent. I bought a $50,000 Honda CRV touring hybrid in May. I called the HondaLink application support because I could not get the app to work after multiple attempts to connect to my car. Instead of connecting me with a technical support person they noted my details and said somebody would get back to me but the support people are very busy, we are now in July 2023 almost 6 weeks later and no one has contacted me. I also asked that a supervisor from Honda Canada contact me because I was extremely disappointed that I can’t use this application. Nobody has contacted me the car is wonderful but the customer support and technical support from Honda Canada is extremely disappointing

What a hot mess of junk. This is easily one of the worst apps I have ever used, and the entire Honda ecosystem of online manuals and support is pathetic. Children in grade school could come up with a better system. Some issues: 1. The HondaLink app is completely useless and slow. Compared to the equivalent app for our Hyundai Palisade, this has no useful features. Why would I carry around an app that does nothing for me aside from telling me my VIN and useless notifications. I want car connectivity. For example, with our Hyundai app we can lock and unlock doors, start the engine, and get a wide range of vehicle info. Same thing for our Porsche. The app provides manuals that are downloaded into the app. I don’t need to get redirected to a website. What if I’m somewhere remote and don’t have internet access? 2. The stupid app links to the useless MyGarage website for too much. And that MyGarage is another hot mess of poo. Despite me living in Ontario, it assumes I need the French language despite my settings also being English. It I change the language preference, it still ends up reverting back to French even though I see the language selection as English. I can read French, but this is just terrible and careless coding. Additionally, this website ALSO offers nothing useful. This is extremely disappointing from a major automotive manufacturer. Honda has become exceptionally lame over the years. Not a good customer experience.

FIX THIS APP NOW HONDA!. Sooo this app is a cluster eff of an app, after taking over two hours to sign in, the only car I can get this app to connect too isn’t even my car and is over 200 kilometres away. The reason this is so bad is I can unlock his car and start his car or turn it off from my phone not to mention it tells me where his car is at all times off the day and I can schedule an appointment for it at the dealer ship of my choosing. This app in the wrong hands is lethal and after buying my first car Honda less than a month ago has me worried about my own car and what people can do to it. Also I just want to add this phone I’m using i bought new and never used this app or downloaded it before today and it automatically connected to a random Honda and won’t let me change it, it just keeps going back to it. I will be uninstalling this app and never touching it again with a fifty foot pole, it’s awful this is even possible and I’m very disappointed in Honda for letting this app exist. All I want to do is play music in my car from my phone and now I have full control of someone else’s car.. Good Job Honda your cars maybe bullet proof but your app sure isn’t.

Features for older models please. Please add remote start for 2017 civic touring!

Useless app. Just bought a 2024 HRV Navi was told to download this app to help me figure out features. It actually has no data. I was told I can use it for remote start set up on my iPhone but nothing!!! Do better Honda App developer

Disappointed. Disappointed that this app does not provide remote start for 2019 Honda CR-V models, the main reason I downloaded the app only to find out it’s not available

Fails more than it works. App is ridiculously slow. Fails to start more often than not. If you don’t hit the settings button fast enough when it first opens you are left spinning forever.

Doesn’t really work. 15 Jan 2024 this app hardly works. Honda needs to DO BETTER. Start by trying and communicating with customers. Unacceptable for a paid app that costs over $100 a year. Don’t pay for this and forget that it exists (as the dealerships do).

Doesn't work. The last two days it hasn't been working at all, reinstalling the application doesn't help. Please fix it.

Annoying pops and too costly. I finally deleted this app because of the annoying pop ups. Looks like it might possibly be a useful app if it wasn’t a complete rip off. I’ve had 2 new CRVs the last 3 years and have never needed the app

Démarrage à distance. J’ai un pilot 2018 Touring et je n’ai pas accès au démarrage à distance à partir de mon cellulaire???

Slow. Slow. Takes a very long time to refresh. Remote car start doesn’t work half the time.

Too slow. The app is fine but compared to my gmc start app it takes 5 times as long to connect to the vehicle then longer to start it

A. Always slow and doesn’t even work half the time

Honda link - useless. Didn’t do much when it did work (for about a week) now it does not work at all. Does not update information from the car. Basically useless!

The app works very slow. The apps works very slow

No one cares at Honda. My subscription renewed in January and due to a bug it did not work for over a month. It took many calls and emails to have fixed by Feb 20th. During the process emails were NEVER replied to, all reps I spoke to said call back in 3-5 days which I did for 4 weeks and I have been awaiting a refund, a call from a sr manager to explain this level of service but still Feb 26th have not been replied to other than a quick message from a tech guy Feb 20 to say he thinks it’s fixed. I paid for 35 days of a service e I did not have, have been ignored entirely and still await a reply. This is the last Honda I will have, I’ll letting the dealership know tomorrow it’s because of this service that I will not be back for another Honda. I am quite stunned by what I have experienced, I use this example with my staff and people I talk to about service as the poorest experience I have had and and clear example of how to lose a customer. I expect this will also go unaddressed or responded to and have wasted more time on this.

Pas de service. Il y’a pas de service payer pas pour sa quand vous êtes en troubles il vous aide pas

Honda you need to step it up a notch. I am very disappointed in such a quality car such as Honda with such a shoddy tech package in my 2023 touring hybrid. My ford truck has a way better working offering WITH FREE!! iPhone remote start that works EVERY time. It takes forever for the app to connect, and start the car. It’s total crap. I renewed it after the first year trial, paid &110 and it will not recognize my purchase. 110$/year to get something that is free on my ford. And the Navigation voice prompt is worse. Just take the navigation out of the car. Don’t charge us for it it doesn’t work. Again, Ford Sync 3 works every time with voice promps. If Honda had the ford tech package, I would have 0 complaints about the CRV. The car is awesome!👍. The tech issues spoil the novelty though.

Horrible to use. App is very slow, takes forever to connect to the car it almost makes no sense in using it , right now it’s stuck and won’t even give me up to date info on my car and won’t remote start unless I use the fob please get someone on this been over a year now still no changes or improvements

Junk App. It simply doesn’t work. Only connects to my 2023 Accord about 10% of the time. It updated and the controls disappeared until I logged out and then back in. The updates failed several times before successful. It has wasted more time than it saved. Honda Link should have never been released as it does not match the quality we expect from the Honda product.

Connectivity issues. Worked like 4x and that is it! Called costumer support - did not help Deleted and reinstalled - did not help either Went to the dealer 2x - said they can’t help with this problem Sooo… what to do?

Less than rudimentary, not useful, frustrating. Unlike all things Honda, which are usually well-built and well engineered, this app isn’t either. One can schedule a very cryptic “OW” oil change but there is no place to describe any issues you’re having with the vehicle. The only thing worse, is the online version -unfortunately equally as useless.

So many glitches. This app works for few months then stops working prompting a technical support call that can take for months to solve so far it worked for 5 months only in total for 1 year.

Inutile. Je possède un Honda CR-V 2018 Touring. Tout ce que je réussi à obtenir avec cette app... c’est le niveau d’essence d’y il a un mois! Bravo! Oh! On dit qu’il peut aussi servir de minuterie pour le stationnement! Vraiment horrible!!!

Almost useless. Hardly ever has up-to-date stats. Right has worked for more than 5,000 km.

It’s very bad. This app is the worst I ever used . Super slow, errors, etc. I wonder if they ever use their own app. Standing outside in minus 10 (Canada) trying to unlock it through the app , not responding ,error .useless , should be for free or 1$ per month not 12

Command Start. I could've rated it to 5 star but you can only use the command start twice with 10minutes every time. With our weather here, 20minutes is not enough for warming up a vehicle. It should be 15 or 20minutes each start, or if you could do it 3 times for a total of 30minutes.

Can’t get any messages through the app. I get notified of incoming message on my Lock Screen, but there are never any messages in the app so I am missing all messages.

App with multiple issues. The app is slow when connecting to the server to the car. Doesn’t matter wifi or data or on any other device/ network. Sometime the menus for remote start or to unlock/locker disappear. Into order to get access I have to close the app multiple time to get the menu. There’s no point of me buying the remotes start service from Honda, if the app doesn’t work properly and I have to use my physical remote. Further more testing needed.

It’s okay. The app is slow, takes a long time to do the command and often when you use it, a notification will pop up saying it needs to be deleted and re-downloaded. So if you’re ever somewhere where there’s no wifi or connection is slow, you can’t even use it

Disappointed. We initially thought we would be able to start our 2022 Passport Touring with this app. Sadly this isn’t happening. When updates occur or notices on our widget page show up we tap it but it is nowhere to be seen on the app or elsewhere. It disappears. Honda makes good cars but this app is only useful to check minor items and the app is thin. Please do a major upgrade Honda so I can start my Passport and get useful info. Thank you.

Honda Link for Civic SI 2024. You would think in 2024 we could have basic functions like lock/unlock doors within Honda Link but for some odd reason the SI only shows basic information which is more than 1/2 the time delayed and not updated information. This is 100% waste and not worth the app. For a large company like Honda, I’d thought you would have done better.

Avoid this app. Whoever is in charge of this app needs to lose their job. What a poor performance of an app and poor excuse for customer service. This app may work but mostly won’t , you can change your password and it won’t work even after. Don’t give this app any of your information. I’d give it -5 stars if they allowed it.

Slow retrieval. I wanted to like this app but it takes so long to retrieve and update each time you use it. It is quicker most times to find my keys and use the fob to double check if the door are locked.

Can’t even create an account. I can’t even create an new account, is anyone same as me? Please fix this problem Honda.

Totally trash. Took close to 8 months to get the free period activated. It worked approximately 4 times. Now all it does is time out and indicates it has failed. When it worked it was very slow. It was quicker to physically go to the vehicle and start it. I’m very disappointed in this Honda app. A bad mark against Honda.

Not good yet. I’m not sure if it’s because I have things to compare it to or if this app is simply just bad. This app is not only almost completely useless but it is annoying. I don’t want a pop up on my phone interrupting what I am doing to show nonsense every time I connect Apple Car Play. The app itself is just years behind competitors. My Chevy app (both phone and watch) app are way better than this. Not just speed and reliability, but just overall usefulness. I really only took time to write this review because the app annoyed me so much I had to delete it and said “might as well right a review.” I will try this app again in a few months in hopes that it gets better. I would love to change my rating.

Worst app and customer service. I bought a 2023 Honda Accord Touring. I was on a 3 month trial of the hondalink service. So at the end of my trial, I subscribed to the monthly remote service. As soon as I paid, the app refreshed and the ability to start/stop the vehicle commands were no longer on the screen. I called honda and they opened a ticket. It has been over two weeks with a useless app that they charged my credit card for. I have tried to call several times and not a single person had a solution to my problem. If you go on any of the honda forums there are countless posts about people having issues. I am just going to cancel my subscription since no one has a solution.

Worthless. So what’s the number one thing you want from a mobile app that connects to your car? The ability to make a service appointment? Nope. Maybe see your odometer? Nope. How about REMOTE START? Yes the most staggeringly obvious feature you’d want from a REMOTE app (that costs $110 a year btw) is not available even on the top trim Pilot. And there’s no apparent logical reason for this. Your 2018 Accord? No problem. Your $60k plus decked out Pilot? Nope. Staggeringly illogical and no one can say why. Is it a limitation of the onboard electronics? Is it a “roadmap item”? No one knows. The two people I’ve spoken to seem genuinely surprised that I’m irritated by this. Please Honda, THINK. At least provide some kind of rationale for this other than “it’s just not available”.

Lots of nice features; none work. Useless unreliable worst app ever After a year of using this brick it’s just as useless as it was when I started. Done 3 or 4 upgrades and it still doesn’t connect to the car reliably. Lots of nice features none work. Another upgrade just as useless It’s now 2022 and it’s still the worst app Climate control is such a tease The schedule GUI nice touch. But it doesn’t actually make it come on. Now manually it throws an error. Bravo! After years of bad reviews they have locked me out of the account. There is no recourse for changing password or recovery just too many failed attempts. Apple should come up with a way to rank app less than zero.

Bluetooth REQUIRED. 2017 Accord with Apple CarPlay has a big where it freezes and reboots using Bluetooth. It's not an iOS version issue, nor is it specific to which iPhone you have - this as been a problem since I got my car (with an iPhone 7) and continues with my 13Pro. That said, it really pi$$es me off that Bluetooth is required for this app. I have to use CarPlay to use my phone with my car... connected my phone via cable to the car's data USB should be enough for this stupid app. I don't get a lot out of this app, but the parts that are compatible with my car should be able to function without being forced to use BT. That is all.

Send address to car via calendar going away. My most used and favorite feature of the Honda link app is sending addresses to my car that I saved in my calendar. I set appointments in my iPhone calendar and include the address in my calendar. The Honda Link app would read my calendar and would display a button in the app that would allow me to send the address in my calendar to the car. This saved me so much time and was so incredibly easy cause I just had to tap one button. I recently opened a ticket because it wasn’t working and received an email from Honda stating the feature is being discontinued as of April 2025.

2020 Honda Insight touring. I just bought a 2020 Honda Insight touring and this app works great. I am able to turn on/off my car from practically anywhere. This of course is only available for touring models. I will say at first the app didn’t register my vin number. I called HondaLink and they were able to update my cars information in about a week. So far I haven’t had any issues. I hope I don’t have any issues because it is very convenient to turn my car on from a far distance during this cold winter.

I don’t get it! There is absolutely zero value in this app!. I don’t get it! There is absolutely zero value in this app nor the HondaLink feature on the vehicle itself. This is the third Honda I’ve owned over the last dozen or so years. The second was a new 2019 Ridgeline RTL-E, and most recently a new 2023 Ridgeline. I’m an IT guy of 25+ years so I’m adept at making anything work technology wise. I’ve tried and yet it’s still freaking stupid! I’m sitting in my truck right now connected via Bluetooth to the vehicle. All the profile settings and everything else under the sun are perfect, and yet my odometer on my dash says 614 miles, but the app says it’s got 214 miles. If it can’t even sync with the mileage, I have zero confidence in the app altogether.

Features that don’t even work 90% of the time. I could sit and press refresh all day to try see an update on my cars charging progress and it won’t ever update. It still shows the battery % from 2 hours ago. So annoying that they do the little refresh animation like it’s doing something when it obviously isn’t. I wouldn’t mind as much if it said “couldn’t refresh- too far” or something but it doesn’t say anything just let’s you try keep refreshing. Cool that you can see where your car is parked but that refresh button needs to be fixed ASAP

Slow, manual, inconsistent app. Pros: great to be able to remotely start the car out of range from the key, nice info on the vehicle status Cons: - slow: I’ve never used an app that works more slowly than this does. Takes about a minute to simply pull the vehicles most recent info once you manually hit the refresh button (isn’t it kind of implied that I want to know the most recent data about my car if I’m opening the app? Shouldn’t it do this for me rather than me having to push a button and wait?) - cost: this app functions like it was built 10 years ago. If it’s going to function like that, then I expect the subscription cost of 10 years ago, not the insane price that the subscription is today.

Was really good before update. This app was perfect. Always worked, had functionality. I even was subscribed to a subscription for 2 years. All flawless, then as of recently, they updated it and made it horrendous. I couldn’t even use my subscription features (I ended up not renewing), I couldn’t see my odometer anymore, I can’t see car’s temp anymore, this app is practically useless now. I’m mad because I can’t get my money back for the 2 and half months of this app not working for me!!!

Never worked, lack of support. I bought a nice new 2018 Odyssey Touring 6 months ago. I Still can’t get help from Honda to get this app and their remote start features to work. I have called them probably 10 times. Their support team tells me they have escalated the issue in multiple times to no avail. I never hear back from them. At his point I have a valid Pin to use but the app never accepts it and tells me it is an Invalid Pin. They give you a 3 month free trial to test out the product but if I can’t ever do anything with it then it’s not hard for me to determine that I won’t pay for the service. They even extended it once for me so I could have more time to ... what? ... maybe try to debug their crappy app for them?! If you get it to work than consider yourself lucky.

Love my Odyssey!. I cannot say enough great things about my experience with my odyssey and it’s many features. I love it so much that this is my second one and not my last! The Honda link feature is icing on the cake! I am able to lay in my bed and check to see if my doors are locked and in the morning, I can start my car and have it warm/ cool before getting in! What more can you ask for?! I am a Honda Odyssey and Honda in general spokesperson! 🤗

Does not work. The hondalink app does not always work for remote features, having the ability to remote stat the car was a major selling point, and part of the reason I purchased a 2023 crv. The app is not working, and tech support has informed me that they are working to figure out what the problem is, but cant seem to figure it out, and will get back to me when they do.. This is quite unsettling. I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a new honda, if the use of this app for remote start and vehicle location is important to you, it may be best to look into other brands of vehicles before settling on a honda, as they seem to be unable to support the features that are sold with the car at this time.

App giving fake urgent warnings. I loaded this app last week to a iPhone 8 for a 2016 Pilot with sensing. It indicated a recall which Honda took care of but within a week I got an email symbol on my dashboard. When I opened the email the car started to give continuous verbal warnings of low break fluid, non-functional disc brakes and a voltage problem with my battery. The dealership had changed the brake fluid and checked the battery the previous week. The dealership claimed they had never seen a HondaLink do that with no warning lights on the dashboard. Something is wrong with this app when it tells you not to use your car and how to stop it without functioning brakes.

Could be helpful if it worked. I like the idea of the app and the UI is fine. The problem is synching. I get very inconsistent results. Even when I look to make sure the app connects it doesn’t always update on the phone. Its also confusing getting it to connect. I’ve spent multiple times looking at my phone in my 2017 CRV parked waiting for the app to say connected. Sometimes it never says it is connected but magically the phone is updated. Other times it just never says connected even when I check phone in the car and it says connected. I wish the app update car info in the background when hardwired but it does not. Pretty buggy app.

American Honda Motor. Inc. I love this Hondalink app. But i wish those features like remote engine start and find location should be available in all models of honda. I have a honda accord exl model but i cannot enjoy it the app because only the touring model have those kind of features. Not all the costumers could afford the touring model, but i want to secure my honda too if we have those features. Please honda listen to me, in your next update make sure that those remote engine start features and find location features should be available in all models, not just in touring or elite models. Thank you.

Honda link app auto starts when I start my Odyssey. I Connect my phone to car play when I start my car and for some reason the Honda app thinks it’s necessary to show me the app on my phones screen. I’m usually always in the middle of entering an address to navigate to on my phone or selecting music and it will freeze up my iPhone and I have to switch back and re-enter the information into my phone all over again. I really wish it wouldn’t open the app unless I click on it

Piece of crap app. This app is a piece of crap. I have a 2018 Honda clarity PHEV and this app is completely unreliable. Just starting my a/c remotely is a gamble. Numerous errors when starting the a/c remotely and most of the time the app can't even read my car's battery level! Find a charging station functionality also stinks. It doesn't dynamically update as you scroll through mapped areas and you constantly have to select the EV search option...it's called a CHARGE STATION FUNCTIONALITY!!! If anyone knows of another app I can use to start my a/c remotely, please let me know because I hate Honda's app. And until Honda realizes that software in cars are just as important as the car itself, they'll always be second tier to the Tesla's of the world.

Have you guys given up on this app?. To whom it may concern. I’m sending this review to find out if your company has given up on this app, it’s OK but it could be better. There’s times when I cannot get the app to open or even work, also there’s times when the gauge is not accurate. It will continue to tell me that my EV and gas mileage is high when in all actuality it’s low, are you guys even thinking about updating the app? Thanks enjoy your day, I hope things get better for the app because I love having it. P.S. I think this app can be so much better!

Trash Trash TRASH!!!!. This app is completely worthless! Especially with the remote services. I have a 23 Accord Hybrid and have been absolutely disappointed with this app. I subscribed to the remote services to start my car from the work place since the remote doesn’t work that far. Every month when the subscription renews the apps remote features disappear prompting me to call in open a case and be told that it has to get submitted to engineering and will hopefully be resolved soon. They charge you, you lose access, and then don’t give a refund when you have no access. Just canceled my subscription and will be looking at aftermarket options!!!! Stay away from the Honda link services. Bunch of crooks and thieves!!!!

App is slow and laggy. The app is not optimized. Certain features don’t work with my car, there is not enough information, and it is expensive to use it. I expect WAY more for an app that costs $120 a year to use. This is subpar at best. It’s too bad too because I would really enjoy using app connected features more, but half the time it says I need better open areas, and it’s sitting in a wide open parking lot with no trees, towers, or obstructions around. Also, the app takes FOREVER to send an unlock and lock and remote start command. Please fix ASAP

Hit or miss. I’ve been using this app for about a year now. (I have a 2018 Accord Hybrid). Many functions just don’t work. I’ve called several times to the Honda App support, and they can’t even figure out why things aren’t working. They keep telling me “a new software update will be coming soon and will fix all these bugs”, but it never does. I think I paid over $100 for this app subscription for the features to work, and Honda won’t give me any credit towards all the “problems”. I think I will just give up and not renew or use this app anymore. I suggest you do the same. Sorry Honda, I love my car, but your app developer should be reconsidered.

Not great. I have a 21 Pilot touring awd. The app worked for a while and then in April of 23 it stopped working. It won’t sync to the car. At all. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it several times, but it still won’t connect to the car. I also thought it would have a remote start feature for my Pilot but that’s not offered on the app. It won’t work with certain cars like my Pilot. What’s this even good for? I’m soooo frustrated. I even took it down to Honda for help and they can’t get it to work. I tried logging out, uninstalling it and starting the process over again. On the app itself it says my packages don’t expire until next year so what is going on? It’s a headache and it’s useless at this point.

Good for what it does. I like it for what it does, it allows basic functionality of lights, horn, and location of the Honda Passport. It also Locks and Unlocks doors. Would be a lot better if it had more functionality. Looking for some Remote Start, heated seats, Windows/moonroof functions... climate functions.... just something to make it worth while... but does connect quickly. Also I like that I can schedule quick with my dealer if problems arise.

Poor connection. I love the system when it works, I wish this system would work consistently. It connects when it wants to, sometimes not at all. Apple CarPlay does the same thing. Sometimes it shows my phone on the phone connections list and sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t been able to use the wireless charger since I bought my car because it will not charge my phone. It will show it start charging then stops after about 20-30 seconds. I love this car, I just wish it had less convenience issues.

Works but slow, needs more functionality for price. Takes a while before commands are sent to car and then verified in app. My alarm has gone off a few times and never get an app alert despite an email. Now don’t you think an in app notification would be bette than an email? Sometimes GPS navigation directions are sent and sometimes they aren’t when using the app even in strong WiFi and get into the car - not received. Also why can’t they add close doors trunk and windows (when kids forget) especially on the Odyssey? Come on Honda, Time to make some changes and show innovation!!

Awful. Not reliable. Does not always work. App will automatically load when in the car even when parked and using a different app. That priority is annoying and can be dangerous, and have yet to find a way to prevent this from happening. There doesn’t need to be a pop up message that the app is connecting. Phone calls will occasionally disable the car’s audio system after ending the call. When this happens you cannot listen to music using the radio, satellite radio or CarPlay. The car needs to be turned off and restarted to use the audio again. This is not possible while driving. If I had another option to connect my phone I would switch in a minute.

Features Broken. I really like the app and would have given it 4 stars if not for the broken Schedule Service function on the iPhone. If you click schedule service you can pick you assigned dealer but not change it. If you try the screen goes white and you can’t get further. In addition, it does the same thing even when you select the default dealer. The screen goes white and you can’t get further. Not to mention my system keeps telling me I need an update but every time I do the update it says I have the latest version. Then it reappears again.

Honda Clarity PHEV. This is useful to do basic things like seeing mileage or finding the car. It also shows when the car is charging and allows to set a timed charging event or turn on the climate control. However it doesn’t show how much power is being used to charge or how much it costs based on local costs. This is a very important omission in my opinion. It’s also very slow to refresh to see the percentage of charge in real time. The refresh button will only refresh the statistics once in 20 tries and sometimes never.

Useless w/o a Touring. I am very disappointed that I cannot use this app the way I want to because I don’t have an Accord Touring. I wanted to be able to remote start my car on very hot/cold days without having to be in a specific range like when I use my remote key. Since I have an EX-L with remote start feature I figured it would be possible but it is not. The app only tells how much gas I have (which I can see in the car), oil quality-helpful , and the ability to service my car. I bought the car used and it won’t let me change the dealership where it was originally serviced so that’s pretty useless. An update to add all Hondas with remote start would be nice.

Loads very slowly. The app has the potential to be great, however, it is annoyingly slow after opening. It refreshes for at least 35-50 seconds before it allows me to do anything including start the car. I contacted Honda they said delete the app and re-install. I did with no avail. I thought it would be better if i use the app directly from Apple watch, but that is just as bad. Again, the app has all the feature necessary to be great auto app however i expect a lot more from Honda and currently this app makes them look bad and makes them trail behind the competitors.

An error has occurred. Please try again later. Though the features are very minimal this app has worked for me since 2018 but it won’t let me sign in anymore on my Xs Max. I tried changing passwords, deleting app and removing its data and nothing works. I’m able to use it on my iPhone 8 and other platforms with no problem. I thought the issue would be resolved through an update but it hasn’t even though I’ve seen multiple updates between Apple and Honda. Customer service has no fix for this “known issue.” In addiction- how are you charging your customers for a dysfunctional app? Update I had given up on this app but after three weeks of being in contact with someone from American Honda in car support we were able to resolve the sign in issue. To fix the problem you have to open the settings app on your phone, go to General, scroll down to reset and hit reset network settings. Your phone will then restart and you should be able to use the app again.

More annoying than it’s worth. The app opens automatically as soon as your phone has a Bluetooth or CarPlay connection to the car, which is incredibly frustrating if you’re finishing up something else on your phone when you turn the car on. I couldn’t find a way to disable that except deleting the app. It doesn’t even update all the information every time you connect. So it might interrupt what you’re doing to show you what oil life and odometer readings were two days ago. If your car has the ability to be remotely started from the app, it may be worth downloading. But otherwise, the app will actively inconvenience you way more often than it will ever help you.

Concierge’s Service. Very poor booking services for finding a hotel. Downloaded a route to my car and verified that they had correct credit card to use. Gave me price of hotel and told me I would get a verifying email to have when got to motel. Arrived at motel to find room was not reserved from their it was all downhill very expensive room rent. Filed a complaint but answer was filled with no knowledge of what went on. Was told they would call me back NO call yet Cancelled my service and stayed with minimum service Always had two people on the line from the service. Just had a comment by the Honda group to go to their app and explain the situation there. Guess what they do not have a category for what happened to us. Suggestions?

Really Honda!. This App is for the most Part useless, except for possibly scheduling maintenance. I try to usually locate my car if you happen to forget where you park it , it didnt/doesnt work. Almost a year ago I bought a brand new 2018 Honda Civic Touring and had downloaded this app a few months after I got it. (i’m fixing to re-download it again to see if it’s changed at all )I was told how great the app was at the Honda Dealership(Who I have much respect for). What the Honda Corp really needs to do is REDO this entire app and actually make it Functional, and work as it was described and explained at the dealership. It could be something great if you redid it! Otherwise I would get rid of the app because it puts off a bad reflection of a really great corporation.

Too slow and freezes often. I signed up for the 3 month trial subscription for my 2018 Odyssey Elite. The most important feature to me is being able to start the car while I’m still inside especially during the hot summer. That feature alone is worth the money but too bad it doesn’t work half of the time. The app is too slow, and at times it takes a few minutes for the car to start and by then I could have used my remote to start. Also, if I have previously started the car using the app and hours later I want to use the app again it doesn’t realize the car is off. The app doesn’t give me the option to “Start” and instead it gives me the option to “Extend”. Even when pressing “extend” the car won’t start and the app will freeze.

Horrible. This app is not functional and not appealing. I purchased a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring. When using the remote start, the app would time out. Most of the times no error message was given leaving me to find the car cold when I got to it. Other times “connection failed” would appear. The app takes long times to “refresh”. It is also not appealing. The display and function of the app is not user friendly. I had an aftermarket remote starter and app for my previous car. It was far superior. You would think a great car company would have a better application. Honda please take notice and step up to the plate with this app.

Annoying Auto-Launch. The app has little practical functionality aside from scheduling service appointments. I’ve had it installed on my phone since I bought a 2019 Odyssey earlier this year. I finally deleted the app today because the app’s auto-launch functionality every time it connects to the car’s Bluetooth is so obnoxious. Most of the time, I have my iPhone plugged in so I can use CarPlay; and as soon as I unplug it, the phone then connects to the car via Bluetooth and this app launches. It’s a crazy oversight that they didn’t put a toggle in the app settings to disable auto-launch. I don’t need to see my car’s odometer, fuel level, and oil life in this app while I’m sitting in the car.

Wish it worked. I have a 2017 Accord Touring V6 Sedan and when checking the compatibility on the HondaLink site, it states “Check the mileage and fuel range right from your app”. Unfortunately that doesn’t update in the app and is just blank (- -).When the car is running it says on the phone app “connected to 2017 Accord”. I am able to send places from my phone to the car, and schedule service, but that’s all. No car location, no odometer or fuel range. As far as support goes, I have submitted two report using the app customer feedback section, got an automated email response with a case number for each and claiming they would respond within 3 business days. Well the first one was 8 business days ago and still no response.

Got it working in my Honda 2005 CRV. I used a $15 set of cables for my iPhone 5s and I got it to work. You have to download a few apps on your phone. The Honda connect app as well as the Honda link app. I also used Pandora and AHA apps. These have to be on the iPhone for it to work. I wish they used Apple CarPlay but I got this to work. The Honda radio will yield an hdmi error but ignore it and hdmi works fine. Once you install all the apps and pair your phone the apps launch from the car radio and displays all the podcast or song info on the Honda screen. I’d give it 5 stars but it wasn’t intuitive to set up and it is a little buggy with the false error message.

Ignore negative reviews. (Update) The new update is a much cleaner look with a better UI, so far no issues connecting and it works all the time with my days of using the app... just wanted for the Apple Watch app and tire pressure sensor for my 2018 Honda Accord. I believe I understand why this this app got bad reviews they didn’t check the compatibility of their vehicle , this app works good great for my 2018 Honda Accord. Looking for some more integration such as Apple Watch Alexa/ Home kit. Let’s not forget about IFTTT support.

Terrible updated version. With the new update, I can’t see the map anymore as to where my car is located without going into my maps on my actual phone. The parking meter timer is gone and that was helpful. The mileage takes longer to update. The pairing between my phones Bluetooth keeps disconnecting from the app more frequently with this new version. Also, the service appointment when modified does not update immediately. The photo of my car is gone and the app just looks very generic as if not much effort was put into this update. The older version functioned much better! I really hope the app creator gives a better version soon with more of the previous features. It’s quiet frustrating!!!

Great app, but not perfect. I love the Honda Link app. It is easy to use and doesn’t crash. I can find my electric and gas mileage easily and schedule service as needed. I’m giving the app 4/5 stars because there seems to be discrepancies between the total mileage range in my Clarity dashboard and the app. I often have to refresh the app for accurate mileage to appear, or to get rid of the “plugged in” status when it is no longer plugged in. Once these issues are resolved, I am definitely giving this app 5/5 stars.

Nit updating. After using the app for the 1st time I was all excited to be able to control my car through the app. But the euphoria didn’t last long, the app stopped a updating I can’t rely on it to display any current information about my Honda because it just stopped updating. It Keep displaying the same mileage from a week or so ago. Ive called Honda and they wanted me to reset my infotainment system in my car which is not the issue So to Honda or whoever is responsible please fix this issue asap

Cost is unreasonable. Honda needs to get with the times. The app is just ok in terms of user friendliness and function. The cost for services is my biggest complaint. My wife uses the new Subaru app for her 2019 Ascent and it so much better and is a third of the price. She paid about $79 for 3 years of services (remote start/stop via the app, temperature adjustments, location, etc). Owner 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. I’m not going to pay $100-$200 for only 1 year of services. Paying $110 just to remote start my car via my phone doesn’t seem worth it to me while other manufacturers are offering better functionality for about $26 per year. Come on Honda, you can do better.

Old Functions. I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport, but the app does not have much functionality at all with this vehicle, seeing what others have said. I like the fact that it does track gas, mileage, and maintenance essentials. But would you please revert back to some of the older functions before the app update; like, showing the date and time the app actually last connected. It’s so helpful. If you look at the app, it’s misleading now because it doesn’t always connect to the vehicle once the vehicle is started so therefore your data is no longer accurate. The date and time stamp would let you know exactly the last time the app synced with the vehicle. The connection is also very slow when it does finally try to connect to the vehicle.

No remote start for $50k 2021 Pilot?!?. This is my 4th Honda in the last 10 years or so, love the brand and the app has gotten lots better over the years. However, you really missed the mark with regard to the Pilot touring and this app, Honda. How is that one can pay over $50k on the top of the line model and not get all the perks of the other models, specifically the remote start on the HondaLink app?!? Super disappointing. Add that to the complaint that everyone else has about this app (that is starts up and takes over the phone when you connect it in the car…why show me the odometer when I’m in the car?!?) and the app is virtually useless. Again love the car, disappointed in the app.

Horrible app. They want me to pay over $100 to have the features of this app and every time I put it on to use the automatic start up or any other feature. There’s a little circle that goes around and around and around and it’s never accurate and it never connects. I’ve uninstalled reinstalled it signed out, signed in called Honda, which is the worst Support ever.. every time I call they never have a solution. I will not pay for a new year when this subscription is over, unless there’s a Tier 2 type of tech-support that knows exactly what’s going on. This issue has been going on since last April when I bought my 2023 Honda pilot.

Off to a REALLY Bad Start Honda!. I manually entered my VIN on the website to sign up then had to do it again in the app. Then I had to scan my vin, but it didn’t say to do the one in the door jamb instead of on the dash. I set up my account with a complex password using a password management tool, but the app doesn’t integrate with 1Password nor does it allow you to paste your password! Well, enabling face id will help….nope!!!! Even though I enabled it, it doesn’t work. I finally got everything set up and went through the steps in the car to register it. But, now it doesn’t give me any information about my car even though I hit “refresh” multiple times!
