New Feature request. adding a widget.. I love this app it’s almost perfect. Helps with my everyday commute. But would make it perfect is adding a widget. That way one swipe to right and you would be able to see you commute information at a glance.

Most useful app!. Thank you for this app! It makes commuting and get around planning much easier. I rely on this app heavily and without it , I would feel like I did back in 2007 waiting helplessly for a heavily delayed bus that is probably never going to come :). It’s like having a set of x Ray vision glasses for transit. So thank you! Can you fix the C line destination to read North Station instead of Lechmere? Times often don’t show up for this route and I think it’s because it’s keyed in incorrectly. Thank you for fixing the 66 bus to note Harvard the direction not Brookline. My 5 year old has learned to read schedules thanks fo this app by the way. He likes to tell everybody when all the buses are coming. Thanks again!

Real time not always consistent. The app is easy to use & allows me to track my favorite or most used modes of transportation. Frustration is the schedule is not always in real time. For example this app has not helped me consistently figure out the Weekend or holiday schedule. Our busses, rails & trains run slower on the weekends & on holidays the trains run on the weekend schedule.

My go-to commuting app. I settled on this app several years ago after trying many. Am still happy with it. I use it whenever I commute, primarily for bus tracking. It is not the flashiest interface, but who cares - in a glance, it gives accurate arrival times for my saved lines (favorites), or, if I’m traveling beyond my typical commute, with one tap, it shows nearby stops. Just what I need.

Can’t rank your favorites. Upgraded to a new phone and my old transit app (Catch the Bus) has been discontinued so I gave this one a try. Two big things that I need in order to rank this higher: -You can’t reorder your favorites; they show up in the order you added them, and that’s final. So I have to scroll through a long list searching for various favorites stops. I want to put all #1 bus stops together, then all #67, etc. -Would love to be able to rename my favorite stops. The MBTA names them by the final destination, but my old app let me name my favorites whatever I wanted (e.g. #77: home to best friend’s house) I certainly won’t be paying for premium ad removal for now. Will keep searching 😕

Accurate… 95% of the time. This is a great app and I use it often… the only problem is sometimes it takes a minute to update and I’ll see 12 mins away… then look one minute later and it says 3 mins away… frustrating but now I know to check it regularly just in case… faster updates would be nice but awesome other than that 👍🏼

It’s useful.. I use this every morning to get to my main school bus stop. I like the time predictions, but one thing that would be better is if I could set a reminder for when it’s like (for example) five minutes away. Besides that I like this app. Free and actually works.

Great for commuting on the T. Very convenient, easy to use. I really like the screen where you have the stations you frequently use. Makes it easy to know when your train is coming, next time for a connecting train etc. Good alerts on outages. I use this every day.

Excellent service but please update for Green Line!. This app has been invaluable in the past for making my commute easier. The bus and subway trackers are much more accurate than the T’s official website and are very user-friendly and intuitive, letting you check the arrivals at certain stops without needing to pre-plan your whole trip. However, the app has not been updated to include the new Medford branch Green Line stations, which is a huge detriment as I visit Somerville fairly often and am thinking of moving there. Additionally, the stations on the Green Line D branch Westbound menu when selecting a new station are labeled all out of order and would be hugely confusing for users new to Boston. Please update the app so it can continue to offer us the helpful guidance it has in the past.

Truly a Must have for commuting. This app has always been spot on for time accuracy on all of the 4+ a day times I’ve used it during the past 2 years, or so. I know when to hurry and when I can take my time which is Great!

Best MBTA App!. I have used this map since I moved into the area two years ago. I often do not leave my house or office in the cold until I know a bus/train is coming (or red line post-derailment) This app is a lifesaver and for my bus line and the red line it is extremely accurate and user friendly! Someone recommended this to me my first week in Boston and it made quite the difference.

Great app!. Overall a fantastic app, it makes planning out my schedule so convenient. If there's one thing I wish I could change, it's to reorder my favorites but otherwise this app is near perfect.

Largely unhelpful for buses. When buses are running frequently and the weather is good and the traffic isn’t bad, this app works fine enough for main bus routes, though I imagine that’s more a function of the probability of it being accurate give a higher density of buses. However, if it isn’t rush hour, this app is near useless for buses. I have spent 40 minutes at a bus stop that was perpetually 2-3 minutes away according to proximiT’s predictions. Also, unlike the Nextbus app, which is unfortunately no longer supported for Boston transportation, ProximiT does not show you where the buses are on the map, so it’s impossible to make your own best guess. In short, the bus arrival time estimates are wildly unreliable and the app is only marginally useful.

Best app for the MBTA. Fantastic app! It lets me set up my favorite bus lines and show them as a list sorted by geographically closest to me at the time. And this is the first screen when you launch the app, which I need to stress the importance of. When I need to know when a bus is coming, I don’t want to fiddle with different buttons and screens. The info is right where I need it when I need it.

Fantastic... sometimes. They need to do a better job during the busy times and when buses run back to back of taking the ones that are passing you by off the list. Also, there have been several times when the app has refreshed itself to “1 min” for buses that show up 10-15 minutes later, which then might also just drive by. On the weekends, buses tend to show up 1-2 minutes early and leave early as well, so be mindful of that. Otherwise, still the best app for Boston MBTA buses that I’ve found... open to trying new ones!

accurate gps app. This is a great app, in terms of accuracy it’s spot on around 80% of the time, there’s times where it would show when a bus or train would arrive and end up being wrong but it’s a rare occasion. I live 40 minutes away from my school and have to take a bus and two trains (which are all operated by the MBTA of course) and it helps me arrive faster. Would recommend to people who often use MBTA services and even people who are visiting Boston.

Quite a good app. This app has helped me so much in not being late to school, the only thing that isn’t always good about it is that it likes to freeze on me about 5 minutes before the bus comes and that sometime the waiting times won’t load but other than that it’s a pretty good MBTA app

Add the GLX!!. This is my go to app for tracking the T and I’ve relied on it heavily since living in the Boston area, but they still haven’t added the Medford/Tufts line. Until they add this line, this app just isn’t really helpful for me any more. It’s been over a month and other similar apps have already added it so it may be time for me to find another app.

Good app, but needs improvement. I just downloaded this app a week ago. It is good. However, I would prefer it didn’t say Boarding when it clearly is not. That needs to be fixed. I also prefer bus numbers to be grouped instead of scrolling alll the way down that long list. And why not allow you to stay in a bus number to add multiple stops?

Generally correct. App is usually right, but there are a few features that would make it even more helpful. 1) show when the bus/train you’re on is expected to arrive at any particular stop. 2) add a feature which allows passengers to report when a bus fails to show up on time, particularly when the bus doesn’t leave he first stop of the route on time 3) add a trip planning feature

Best MBTA tracker, but please update. This is the quickest and easiest bus and subway tracker for Boston. The other ones try to plan out your trip for you. You don’t want that. This is just an interactive map that visually shows you where the nearest T stations are and how far away the busses or trains are. Essential for planning when you need to leave, especially late when the trains are far apart. It also shows you delays and service updates like shuttle busses. This app has NOT updated to show new green line stations though. They’ve been open for a while now, please update this app.

So confusing and inefficient!. This app is not good! It is laid out terribly making it really confusing and inefficient to use. It doesn’t allow you to just type in where you want to go and give you train directions- it kept taking me off the app and giving me walking directions there. I don’t understand the point of this app. It doesn’t calculate your route for you which is super annoying. If it does and I just don’t know how to do it then that says something in itself because the app should not be this complicated.

Simply...Best MBTA app on any platform!. Simply...Best MBTA app on any platform! (@ 5 stars) Update: The app has been very inaccurate for the past month. From 10 minutes before bus arrives turns suddenly to 3 minutes. If I am unlucky, it will be back to 28 minutes. No bus arrived nor passed by. The app is not dependable. It used to be. Bus 95 to West Medford in Sullivan does not have any bus info anymore. Please fix or at least get to the bottom of the issue. Thanks.

For Boston: the best. Simple quick, easy to use - with custom alerts. I love I can set favorite locations and get an automatic warning about the next inbound bus or train as I approach that location. It’s my favorite go to for just the basics of where the train and buses are and when they will arrive.

Awesome for legacy stations. Used this every day for a few years and it has been reliable and easy to use. I wish they would add the new E line stations to the app though. 5 stars because what is already here is really great.

App has left me stranded too many times. This app was so helpful pre-COVID when I took the bus every day to work. I’m not sure what’s happened but I’m finally deleting this app after being burned too many times, waiting for a bus that says it’s 3 minutes away, then 2 minutes, and then it just disappears from the app and there’s no actual bus, even 10 minutes later. You can’t blame that on the T, that’s on the app.

Best app for the T. Easily the best app for the T. I think most of the issues I have are much more a result of the busses being delayed or caught at a light, rather than inaccuracy on the part of the app. An updated UI would be nice. But it definitely gets the job done.

Good Idea, Poor Performance. I have used this app for about two months now. It works great when there is no traffic, however this is Boston and there is almost always traffic. It only updates every 5 minutes or so, and the majority of the time I find myself waiting an additional 10 minutes. The only reason I didnt give it one star is because its still (to my knowledge) the best option out there

My favorite App for the MBTA. Finally! An app that understands that, as a commuter, you already know what stops and routes you’ll use. Having a main screen that shows the four stops I use the most and the next train at each is exactly what I need. Great job on this!

Pretty good. I have found that the timing of different stops works differently. I take the red line and know that if the app tells me I have 5 minutes until the next Braintree train at South Station, it is really more like 7 minutes. But if it says 5 minutes at North Quincy it is really 3. I’m not sure what the trigger is for each of these stops but as long as you know the real timing, the app is accurate.

Accurate But Slow. The app has accurate bus and train times but it is slow to update to your current location when looking at your favorites. I often have to restart the app in order for it to know where I am.

Good info. ProximiT is very helpful in planning my travels with the MBTA. I live near several T lines, so it helps me decide where to go to start a trip. It’s also improved its reporting as the T improved its data. I only wish they would provide info near the end of a line when a trip hasn’t yet started. (Of course, that assumes the T has — & follows —a schedule!)

Still the best MBTA app for a local. Have used this for years - easy and direct access to next bus/train information. Not for plotting out a course from point to point - other map focused apps are better for that. Wish it had a widget and Watch app for easier and quicker lookup of my common stops.

Ryans big day. Today, we took my son Ryan to the bus city of Boston, to ride the one and only MBTA. He doesn’t leave our house much because he is afraid of the outside, but he felt right at home in the cushioned and plush seats of the Green line. We rode every part of the line - the B line! The C line! The D line! And even the E line! This has transformed Ryan into the man he is today!

Must have for the unreliable T. I check this app every time before I leave for my commute. The timing on the bus is extremely helpful and they’re accurate (those with crowd indicators - which means they receive real time data)

Not always accurate. I rely on this app heavily to check for my morning and evening commutes. I find that it works approximately 75% of the time, but the remaining 25% with inaccurate or no information about the next upcoming train is quite annoying. It defeats the purpose of having the app. I’m not sure if it’s an app-specific problem or a scheduling and posting of information delay, but they could indicate when there is a delay.

Unreliable is an understatement. This app is probably more successful at telling you when a bus is NOT coming. After downloading this app you will spend so much of your life standing at bus stops looking down at your screen telling you a bus is arriving and “boarding”… then you’ll spend at least another 20 minutes waiting there only to have 3 jerk bus drivers show up at the same time so their lazy butts can leapfrog each other and skip to every 3rd bus stop. Absolute disaster & embarassment.

Amazing app!. I take the subway and the commuter rail. This saves me every time knowing if i need to run to the next train or don't even bother cause im not gonna make it. If you ever implement something new, a watch face or watch widget and a widget for the phone.

Artie -8. I would like to say I have very poor vision I think it would be very nice if they have a way to tell me where I am and what buses are right near where I am at the time I think it would be extremely helpful least to me A lot of times I cannot read the signs where I am and lotta times I don’t have the numbers on a pole that I can see beyond that I think you guys have come up with the best service with the transit system that I’ve seen in a long time I would love to hear from you guys thank you

Actually good!. I’ve tried various MBTA bus trackers over the years. I’ve abandoned each, mostly because they’re slow and/or cumbersome. This one is quite good, though. I commend the design. Had it customized to my points of interest in seconds, and the user experience is simple and transparent.

settings issue. I use this app very frequently and it has been extremely helpful. it tells you the exact time your transportation will be there (in seconds as well) and other information about your source of transportation. However i just moved to a different state and it will not allow me to change my location which is very disappointing.

Straight up doesn’t work most of the time. Every time my morning commute gets screwed up because of this app, I think about writing one of these reviews and deleting this piece of garbage app. Today was the last straw. I’m currently typing this after waiting 30 minutes in the cold for a bus that was supposed to be 3 minutes away and is STILL displayed as 3 minutes away. This happens at least twice a week, every week. Going to uninstall this piece of garbage and try a different T tracker.

Green line E. This app is so great for busses, but it’s sort of beyond me how they aren’t able to keep track of green line E trains past north station. The app doesn’t even let you select anything west of there, and the stations themselves don’t provide departure estimates, just “trains arrive every 6-7 minutes” which simply isn’t true. Let’s figure out how to at least track the status of this aging fleet to take away some of the pain of using it.

Great at what it does. ProximiT is one of my favorite public transit apps. It only does one thing (well, two if you count the delay notifications) and does it really really well. The countdown display to board keeps saving me from missing the train by a few seconds!

Miles away. Perhaps it’s just my line (D) but the app is off by about 8 minutes either way. Trains come about every 15 mins so it’s really a crap shoot. I don’t normally commute by train so it’s only an occasional annoyance. I grew up in a city with public transport, so I find the Disney rides we have in Boston a charming novelty for which this app is adequately suited. Car’s back from the shop tomorrow fortunately. I suspect the problem is with the data feed from mbta, the app itself seems solid.

Super Convenient App for This Student!. I’m going to school in Boston and I rely on the bus to get into the city. I didn’t have a ton of public transport experience before going to school, but this app makes it easy! Tells me exactly (within a minute or two) when and where my buses are going to be. This app is awesome and I so appreciate the team who built it!

Incorrect predictions.. Most of the time this app has worked really well, but lately not so much. Today I left the house 7 minutes before the bus was supposed to arrive (a 3 minute walk), and I get to the bus stop and the app says it passed! I rely on this app to get me to work on time. Really disappointed recently, please check for bugs!!!

Exceeds the MBTA’s haphazard mess.. Boston’s ancient buses & subways, Rapid-Transit above ground trains, and the MBTA commuter-Rail has for scores of years deviated chronically from their official-published schedules, arrives 6 or 7 minutes early at designated stops and invariably seeing few passengers, stops for whoever is there and proceeds to the next stop. This wreaks havoc with the times PROXIMITY pronounces as ex officio: reliable. Four years ago it it was of a magnitude greater then the official apps associated with the MBTA. Over 4 years there are refinements & improvements. The schedule deviations seem (especially regarding BUS service) to be weighted toward the MBTA’s putative schedule and does NOT appear to be a problem originating with the PROXIMITY APP.

Good app, could be better. My biggest issue with this app is that when tracking trains going one directiom, the app shows trains going in both directions. It's not possible to tell which train is the correct one because the icons are identical. Only showing the train going in the correct direction would be helpful

Tends to be closer to accurate than others. I stuck with this one because it seems to be the most accurate as compared to others. Wish I had the opportunity to note every time a bus didn’t show that was listed as “Boarding” though... how would that affect the actual times in the app? Just a thought!

Precise. Super precise and best interface of all apps I have seen for Boston bus tracking. The favorites settings are great.

Accurate and helpful. I had low expectations but this is surprisingly accurate. Helpful, especially when the weather is less than ideal.

Just downloaded. Would love an option to be able to mute the apps notifications for a set period of time (say, when I’m at work) instead of receiving notifications when I’m near those trains and busses.

Mostly good, but doesn’t have shuttles (ex BU shuttle). This app is not for directions, but it does give decent realtime bus/rail location info if you already know what lines and station you need. I don’t see any way to contact them directly through the app

Needs to be updated. The app is fantastic for telling you when the next train is but I does not know about the green line extension yet so transit times from north station are unreliable

Ok but needs an update for the new Medford line. It’s my preferred app to track the T, however there is still no update to include the GLX Medford Line. Other apps have included that already, making this app a bit obsolete for me until that update is fixed.

Needs GLX. I have been using this app for years and it has always been extremely reliable, but the new Green Line to Medford/Tufts hasn’t been added and that line has been open for 8 months now.

All the T. ProximiT has never let me down in two years and in case you didn't know - the bus always wins.

Not working. Ever since I updated my iPhone the app stop working. I haven’t been able to see no updates. Too bad I really liked the app. It was very accurate.

Does one thing exceptionally well. I love ProximiT because it’s great at the task I want most: telling me the arrival times of the next two buses on the one line at the one stop that I care about at the moment. Highly recommended for regular commuters who use the MBTA in Boston.

I have this app a poor rating in error. Once I understood how to use it I give this app five stars!. You can not find your bus without a tedious search on a map

Very unreliable. I’ve found I can no longer trust this app. I’ve had situations where it lists the bus as 2 minutes away, only to see the bus drive by as I near the stop. I’ve also had situations where it lists the bus as a few minutes away and I end up waiting 20 minutes for it. I think on average I would end up waiting the same amount of time if I walked to the stop without looking at the app and hoping to get lucky.

Phenomenal app. Truly makes it easy for me to time my commute. One of the most useful apps I’ve ever used and it’s accurate a lot of the time

MBTA. Why have this app if it’s not right for the last couple days the 22 bus been doing what it want to making me late for work

What’ happened. I have used this app for the better part of 2 years and have always found it right on. Recently I noticed that the next train is not listed but the one after it is. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. No luck. Has something changed ? So my rating before would have been a 5, now it is a 2

I love it. I love that it has both bus and subway schedules. I think that it needs to improve in situations when the bus or subway is late. Usually it’s hard to know if a late train will show up at all

Confusing and limited !. This app is confusing on which train is going where and what stop the times refer to. Also, it would be nice to see the stops listed and the times next to them so you can see exactly where you are and when you should arrive at the next stop. I’m thinking of dropping this app. 👎

Love this app!. I use it every day. Once you put your stations in, to look up the next train time is about a 10 second process.

Mbta. Truly grateful for Boston transit. Coming fro Lowell, ma. Literally. My nana used to take allllll 7-8 of her grandkids all around Lowell while my mom was working. I was young but I still remember 🙏🏻❤️ rip nana I know you pappoo, grandpa, and mike Sylvester and Ashleigh higson are a big part of my recovery. I truly know this now!

Love but want small upgrade. Great for saving most used routes. Would like to be able to organize favorites though…. Even alphabetical would be better than random.

Not my favorite. This app works well for me. However the latest update is whack! My favorites kept switching it’s order. I don’t know why and it isn’t changing it’s order due to my current location, if so that would of been better. Please either make the favorites change it’s order only if it’s base on my current location, otherwise, please it the the order I placed it.

ProximiT. It is unclear, and there appears to be no way to inquire, whether the listed bus arrival times are real time predictions or merely state what the bus schedule says. Also when a service alert says there is for instance a 20 minute delay, does the listed arrival time reflect that delay, or must we Add that 20 minutes to the listed time. Thank you.

Add option to select time and day. I would like to reduce spam of notifications by selecting time and day. Otherwise, the app works great.

Better options out there. I promise you I have to wait an extra 10 mins for more than 50% of the time. Stay away unless you have patience.

Times never accurate. Missed the bus and had to stand in the freezing cold multiple times because of this app. Should have listened to google maps or even Apple Maps, they had more accurate times than this app. Nearly froze on multiple occasions. Appreciate you making an app, but if it’s going to be inaccurate you’re doing far more harm than good

Most accurate Boston MBTA App. It’s great how accurate and helpful this app is. Its helped me find and catch so many buses I would have missed. Such a great resource when in a new area of Boston and needing a random bus or T stop

Problem. A problem, is that when you go into settings and you click Boston and then you click the bus map, it crashes, and you have to reload the app.

Awesome!. I have not been riding the T for the past several years. I downloaded the app again for my trip today. The latest version is so polished! The updated GUI is very intuitive!!!

Unreliable lately. This app used to be accurate but lately the time differences of when the buses are coming are huge gaps. I saw my bus was coming in 14 mins and almost decided to grab something to eat and something told me to check if the bus was parked and of course it was and I almost missed it.

Best public transit app around. Thank you for making the best app for public transit. Your interface is easy to understand and your information is accurate to the minute!!! You’ve changed my morning commute.

It works... mostly.. Good at giving you the schedule at a glance. But at least where I am, it’s too aggressive with real time bus arrival times. Been burned multiple times when the app says there’s 2-3 minutes until the bus arrives and I watch it roll by from a couple blocks away as I’m walking towards the stop.

Accurate. Helps me catch the bus; I do wish the app would stay active on my screen so I could just check arrival time as I walk to the bus, rather than have to keep unlocking my phone.

Usually decent, but terrible for late at night. Generally fairly accurate during the day within a few minutes. However on multiple nights the app kept telling me my bus was 5 minutes away (it would keep refreshing to be anywhere from 1-6 minutes) and the bus never came. I wasted at least half an hour and $20 on an Uber late at night. Absolutely unacceptable.

great app. great app. I mainly take the bus, and I use it all the time to get to school and back. I love how you can track the bus, see how crowded it is and how the app prioritizes your bus stops based on your location. great app! 8.5/10!

THE BEST BUS APP. I recommend dis app 10/10 the timing for when the bus/train comes is always right. You could even bookmark the buses that you take regularly so you don’t have to scroll through all the numbers. If you want a bus tracker i would suggest you get dis one. 😉👍🏽

Help. What happened? Worked fine this morning (3/5/19) but at noon it stopped. Same with my friends app. Did the T take away their info? That happened to me with Catch the Bus last year and while ProximiT can sometimes be off esp early morning arrival times, it has been pretty dependable. I hope this is just a temp glitch.

It reliable. Although, it’s more reliable than MBTA website schedule, it’s still miss or hit when using this app. Too often it says the bus is arriving, then it says it’s boarding, although I’m standing right there and there’s no bus, and then it says the next one is coming in an hour, very frustrating

Great app. This bus and train app is great for me when I can’t get a ride from someone else. The times are pretty accurate but when the countdown starts the bus is already driving away. I think that could be improved

Could do more. Ive been using ProximiT for over a year now. And its been a quality of life. But if it added more (like for example some form of way to notify you if buses your trying to take) it would greatly benefit the app

Saves me time! Love this app.. Always know when the T is a mess and when the train is delayed or on-time. A must have for Boston travel or commuting.

A good review with just one thing y’all can add. Overall a really good app buses usually come on time, I don’t think I ever missed the bus using this app, but can y’all add like how packed the bus is, like is the bus empty or filled with a lot of people that would be very helpful for a lot of peoples.

Amazingly Accurate. ProximiT has improved to the point that it is at least as accurate ( and often more so) than the actual signs at T stations. Thanks!

Very accurate app. I really like using this app, I find it more accurate than Google maps for tracking the T and buses. I would recommend it.

Very Accurate. Been using this app for my bus for about 2 years and find it to be accurate to the minute. One time out of 2 years it showed my bus arriving in 20min, 18min, 12 min. Then it suddenly jumped to 1 min. I had to run but I did catch my bus. Luv this app.

Everything I needed. I never write reviews but this app is a game changer. Before this app I would always miss the T by a few minutes or sometimes seconds. Now I always catch my train and make it to my morning meetings! 11/10

Incredibly helpful!. This app has made traveling by bus in Boston so much easier! It’s very reliable and easy to use. Highly recommend!

Works great for the red line. This app gave me back 20 minutes of my life today by letting me know when I needed to walk just a bit faster to avoid a long delay. The least I could do was to write a nice review.

Sometimes it’s wrong. Bus in 4 minutes? Maybe. Or maybe you’ll watch it drive past as your app suddenly jumps from “4 minutes” to “Boarding” (also inaccurate), then 15 minutes ’til the next one.

Great app. I use it almost every day. Great app, very timely! Only thing I wish is that it had better map tracking, but I mostly use the list of times of my starred bus lines anyway.

Love it!. Love this app! Excellent way of know when any of the public transportation options are coming in and around Boston. I find it to be accurate 95% of the time. I probably rely on it too much

Very helpful!!!. I’ve been struggling with mbta’s schedule and google map is not always trustworthy. This app really saved my life and I wish I knew it earlier!!! Highly recommended for anyone living in Boston!!!
