Great app for slot cars. Searched high and low for a lap tracker for my AFX slot car setup. Found this one and love it. Works great and very easy to use.

Good app, easy to use, but one big oversight. Good app, easy to use and was accurate. Only complaint is that it displays times only in seconds so you have to then do some calculations to determine lap times if over 1 minute. Kind of a big oversight.

Works great for HO slot car track. The app works flawless on an HO slot car track. This app has all the needed info to set it up properly to get it to work.

Great for Slot Car Lap Times. Saved a bundle over diving headlong into an Arduino board, LCD, reed magnetic switches, tracking down someone who knows C++, and everything else it would have taken to set up a home made electronic lap timer for my slot car track. Instead, I dug some poster tack out of the junk drawer, and a juice glass out of the cabinet to hold my iPhone at the right angle, and paid $1.99 for an app. BOOM! Now I have an awesome lap timer. My brain is racing, thinking about all the things I can time, like my 5 year old running figure eights around our house chasing monsters on his Vtech watch, or how fast I run to the pantry and back when I’m making curry, because my misen place skills are crap and I never have everything I need at hand. If it moves, you can time it... this is sooooo good for my OCD, you have no idea.

Great slot car lap timer. I’ve been using it for a while now and couldn’t be happier. It is everything I could ask for in a slot car timer. If you have slot cars, get this app.

Slot car lap tracker. This worked fantastic for timing laps on my AFX racetrack for slot car racing. I just used an iPhone holder and point it at the track lanes. Awesome.

Wow.. I’ve always done manual lap counting, pressing a button with each pass, not very accurate. Now thanks to Laptracker, and a little camera bridge, I have a decent lap counter and timer. What’s not to like about the price. There are a few glitches with the voices/ sounds, though. But the timer works every time. I look forward to any updates in the future.

Great lap counter app. This works great for slot car lap counting. Simple to use, easy to set up on a tripod with phone. It is light sensitive so be sure your in a well lighted area and not casting light/shadows as you walk by or around the track. Set it up in an easy to reach spot. $200.00 cheaper than the in-track unit although not as in depth, not that you really need one of those at a home family track.

Mini z heaven. Works awesome , so glad to have this app for racing and practicing with my 1/28 scale Rc cars !

Hot Wheels track timer. Great for hot wheels drag track. Used monopod with cellphone holder. Perfect results. Compared to time and $ to use what’s on the market, this is an exceptional bargain.

Just perfect. I have been wondering around to find a way of tracking speeds lap times on my RC track. Hobby stores don't know about it yet. You guys have provided me with the perfect tool for this application. It works just great, and is well worth the price of the application, compared to spending over a thousand dollars in sophisticated equipment. I can do the same from my iPhone 6 now!. Great job guys. A good start but so incomplete for slot cars. We tried to use this but there isn’t a sound that declares the race winner, so we don’t notice it and keep driving. Perhaps timed qualifying this app works but in actual slot ca4 racing, this app sadly comes up short :(

Ingenious use of iPhone technology for the slot car enthusiast. I am using this app for my home use AFX four lane track set up. I simply mounted the iPhone over the track using a suction cup Bendy rod iPhone mount like you would use on a car windshield. The phone can be positioned perfectly with the bendy/rod to get perfect angle for lane identification from the app set up using the camera. Simple to use app extremely cost efficient as compared to the light optics/ laptop set up’s. 2 bucks vs 200 bucks! (Would be great a great enhancement to be able to customize the voice using the iPhone voice choices.)

Lap Tracker. Great tool for testing cars and running trials. Ran a few multi-lane events. Ghost and shadow counting occurs regularly. With and without the phone flashlight. Tried the LED light bead as well. Limited improvement. Like to be able to save and send data too. Features been inactive since I downloaded. Great app for the $$$$.

Really awesome for mini-z and Dnano timing. Rarely do I write app reviews but this app is worth the time. I wanted a simple yet effective way to time mini-z and Dnano car races. For the price and concept, I didn't think it would work that well but it wasn't expensive compared to a full blown lap timer system so I took the plunge. Immediately I was impressed with the app logic and options for customization. Once again it's a simple app, but if you want to time small car races, this is really effective. Setting the trigger zones is flexible, and the voice alerts are great. Really nice app and totally worth the money to have a simple lap timer in your pocket. I would give five stars if the 5 second countdown and race end was also voice announced. Hopefully in a future update. Well done!

Great App for all RC.. Tested with Turbo Racing, Kyosho Mini-Z, and Losi Mini B. Works great. Tons of adjustability and settings. Voice call out works very well. Takes less than a minute to get it setup and running.

Slot car. Works great! getting it dialed it was not long. Watch out for shadows!

Nice, but fussy. I use it on an old iPhone to track slot cars. The camera has to be reset every time the unit is turned on, will not hold the setting. Has a habit of randomly either timing both lanes with one car, or timing the car twice a lap, choosing it’s own start/finish line. When it works, witch is often, it’s great.

Slot car timer that works great. All I can say is this little app saved me lots of money. Works great tracks up to 4 lanes. It's very cool.

Great app for rc car lap tracking. I use this for timing my rc car laps on a track i set up in my driveway and it works great!! Only reason i didnt give 5 stars is i wish that when you email the results it would give you the average and best lap times like it does on the screen when app is open. Please update and make that happen!!

Best APP ever. I can't even begin to describe how delighted I am with this app. I use it for timing a 1/32 slot car track. The simplicity of setting it up for four lanes was really nice. I used to have a very sophisticated optical timing system using dedicated lights and infrared sensors embedded in the track. I had to do all of the wiring and soldering to incorporate the proper resistors and diodes. That's not to mention having to drill through the track and glue in the receptors. The end result was a finicky system that only read the car passing about 80% of the time. With this app and my iPad all I had to do was rig up a sturdy little platform for my iPad. The accuracy and consistency of reporting is astounding. I've probably run over 500 laps over the course of a week and don't think I've ever gotten a false signal. (Note: it doesn't work quite so well on my set up with an iPhone, but this has more to do with the limits of the screen image than it does with the app itself.). I even went so far as to buy a used iPad off of eBay simply to dedicate to my timing system. Having the voice feature allows me to concentrate on driving and just listen to the lap times a click off. I hope the developer continues to refine the app. I'd pay 10x the current purchase price to have some additional features. For .99 cents this is just an incredible find.

This is great. I use this to tune my cars. I can determine on my home track when I’m tuned properly to be competitive at the club.

Slot car user. After getting a sturdy stand, this works well. A feature I would like added is to audibly announce a winner by stating lane and time.

Great tool for RC Race Practice!. Used this today to work on improving my lap times at my local RC track. Put my phone on a little bendy tripod pointed across the start/finish line and set the zone height to cover the whole width of the lane. I wasn’t sure if the spoken lap times would work with bluetooth but was pleasantly surprized to hear the lap number and time spoken through my airpods up on the driver’s stand. Excited to try the “Stop after X Time” and “Finish Last Lap” options to simulate a 5 minute qualifier or Main next time I use this. Of course, the timing only worked accurately because I was the only one on the track - multiple cars passing through the timing zone would have completely messed up the timing. Sure you can set multiple timing zones or “lanes” but this only really works for slot-cars, hotwheels or other activities where the object being timed stays in a specific lane on every pass. RC cars and their drivers are far less predictable. Still, for the price and what i needed this for it works great!

Slot car racers. The best for a four lane track, no wiring involved just set, calibrate, and race. Hats off to the developer, simple and fun!

Amazing and useful, but there are minor bugs. This is a really good app. I used it with my slot cars, and it performed really well. There are 2 things that I would like to mention though. 1. If you press the start button twice, it counts down really fast then keeps counting into negative numbers, until you re-open the app. 2. I would love to be able to change the screen orientation, as it is only portrait, and it would be helpful to be able to change it into landscape so I can prop up my iPad more easily. All in all though, this is a really great app, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to use it as a lap counter for slot cars.

Not great. I tried this on my 2 lane set up using an iPad. Results were mixed. Too often the wrong lane would get tagged for a pass or be missed completely. I’ll play around with it some more when I have better light, maybe that will improve the results.

Great slot car lap counter!. We use this with a Scalextric race car set as a lap time/ lap counter. The phone sits above the track and gives a spoken lap time or a beep after each lap, so much fun and much more competitive!

Great App!. Okay, this app is just unbelievable for the price. So I just about bought a system for over $200 when I found this app. Yes, this app does exactly what I was wanting. I needed something to count laps and record lap time. This app delivers beyond my expectations, not only does it do said needs but it calls them out to me in real time. I currently use this for practicing laps with my RC cars and trucks, I like to run a set number of laps so I have it set for 20 laps to which the Lap Tracker will count and time the laps, call them out to me and sound a bell at the finish. I love that I can save and send the results by email, I later import them into a spreadsheet I developed that shows me all kinds of statistics from all the data collected. The app is so incredibly easy to setup and use, has no known bugs as I have not found anything. I do have two suggestions though... I see the developer has an app to capture speed “Speed Clock”, it would be cool to incorporate that, the other suggestion is that the app save a default email address for fast and ease of sending of results data. There is many other features this app has I have not used yet and I look forward to that soon, like racing against my friends. Thanks for the app.

Quite disappointed.. This app is not well sorted. The sounds stop unexpectedly and the app needs to be fully shut down to get going again. There is no way to stop an in-progress race and restart. It just starts and starts and restarts again! Again you need to fully shut down the app. Does not seem like the developer tested it before launch. Common software development tactic. Disappointed Apple has it in their store.

Not perfect. I tried to use this to time slotcar races, but camera rearm times don't work and the sensors won't pick up movement a third of the time. Needs a little work, good potential.

Easy setup works good. I used this to time my tiny whoop FPV drone for RaceGOW season worked perfect settings where very easy to use

Works decent with proper setup. Using to time qualifying / single vehicle best laps on an outdoor Rc course. Once a stable bridge is constructed and sensitivity is adjusted properly it works quite well. Using a Bluetooth speaker allows you to put the bridge a few feet away. Would be nice if the voice could speak the lap number as well as the lap time. If there was a way to show the results on another phone that would also be cool.

I use this for slot car racing!. I bought this for my teenage son. He enjoys competitive sports. He enjoys slot car racing, but was wishing he had more stats about the race (fastest time, lap timer, race start and finish sounds). This app is perfect! We just had an enjoyable afternoon of tweaking the setup and racing our slot cars. Tips: make sure you can’t case shadows over the monitored area. We put a light directly beside the phone and that did the trick. Lots of options to tinker with! Well worth the time to make the settings perfect for your race.
