Meh. It understands speech well in English, Spanish and German. Translation was pretty rotten for Spanish. For example, my son tried "good morning, Dad" and got "buen padre mañana" instead of the correct "buenos días, Papá". Doesn't really inspire me for languages I do not understand.

Awful. Don't waste your time with this app. It doesn't allow for you to actually speak. Instead, it prompts you to check your connection.

Highly recommended!. I find this to work better than google translate it has properly translated everything.

This app is FANTASTIC!!!!. Very user friendly and does a great job using correct translations.

Not as good as what's on my phone!. The app has a clear sound but only works with one sentence at a time and only if you do not use an external keyboard. Luckily, it's free and doesn't break the bank for the shotty work!

Great!. Works so much better than a previous app I tried. Loud, clear audio. Quick responsiveness. I'd like to see more languages though. And perhaps loose some of the skeumorphism.

NOW it works. When I first downloaded it it did not work right. The microphone did not work. It must have updated . Now I love this translator. Works great now on my iPad and iPhone . I like the history feature because I can write quite a few things to translate to the cute Chinese girl at the restaurant .

Auto-correct. Wish it wouldn't auto-correct to English when I'm typing in a foreign language. Real pain in the fingers. Can't it be turned off?

International. I'm now a multilingual super star thanks to this app! J/K Seriously, it's great for bridging the language barrier gap between my friends. Thanks for getting it working again!

Great. Used this at a meeting and it was extremely helpful in helping us deal with foreigners who spoke English but didn't know all of the English words. An app well worth the money.

Good. It is good. The automated translator speaks the translation too fast. There needs to be a variable speed playback feature.

Google Ads ruins great app. This is a great app which I used to use. Now there is s Google ad at the bottom of the page which makes the app impossible to use. The language cannot be changed, even with the $2.99 upgrade.

Wow. I have no idea how accurate this app is since English is my only language, however I will say this is a very simple and easy to use app that seems fantastic. One tip: add Vietnamese!!! I would love to be able to record and translate what my nail techs are saying in front of me. ;-)

This is go to. I am an avid language learner this app helps for when I am searching for a word, or when a phrase in say Spanish is one I do not understand. It is very helpful as to pronunciation as well.

Will not work. This app worked so well when I got it I even payed for it but now it only says “Check network connection” I sent emails to get it fixed but no response I feel ripped off either fix it or give me back my money

Does not work. I have tried using this app multiple times and it has yet to translate one phrase. Tried Mandarin to English, Spanish to English and vice versa and French to English, no go. I also keep getting an error, " Please check network connection", and nothing is wrong with the network

No Gaelic languages available. First of all there is no Gaelic languages like Irish, and Scots Gaelic available, which make me not very interested in the app. Also, I think it is stupid that the text when selecting the languages is black on black, which I can barely see to the white on white which is literally IMPOSSIBLE to see. What super genius thought that up? DERP!!! I’m visually impaired and can’t read it worth crap. That’s got to be my biggest gripe. The next one would be the lack of languages, which make me want to delete it.

Best French Translator. This is my go-to translation app. It has an uncanny ability to understand the way I speak French. I love it.

Just started using the app. Had a little problem with the voice recognition at first, but it did the job eventually. Will write more as I use it.

Poor speech recognition. Attractive interface, but poor voice recognition! Usually it says "Please check network connection." Another translator app I have has no trouble with my network connection! I have found one way around this problem: tapping the keyboard button, then using the iPad’s built-in voice recognition feature instead. Then translation is pretty reliable.

Tricked. I bought the app because it says it has Romanian among the languages it translates,but it doesn't. I'm disappointed !

Quite impressive!. I downloaded this off of a 3rd party app out of sheer curiosity and without expecting much at all. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I tested the app in English, Italian, and Portuguese and it was able to understand me completely pretty much every time, with very decent (if not perfect) translations always. A must-try!

Keeps saying no Internet. I’m sitting next to my modem for which I have done a Speedtest all is good but it will not do anything and it says check my Internet connection

Awesome app. I speak English, Spanish, German and Japanese so it's really interesting to be able to know that there is a app out there that works well as a translator, not only is it simple it's accurate. Couldn't be better.

Watch your language!. Overall, I've found this a very useful app. The one annoyance is that, using voice recognition, the program censors anything it considers dirty. I mean, c'mon—everyone wants to know how to swear in another language. Even more baffling is that, if you type in a "dirty word" the program allows it. I don't need my apps to monitor my behavior.

Stopped Working. Worked twice then every time I have tried to use it since then I get an error message.

Useful app. This app is handy for short queries but obviously you need to know a bit of the language to get best results

Doesn't understand. This app says it all but it doesn't live up to it. It doesn't understand anything you say for example I said hello and it didn't understand the first and second time and the third time it told me Herman!!!! It doesn't understand anything you see

Great from English to French and Spanish, but.. Works very well from English to Spanish and French, but terrible going from those languages to English. I'm taking about the voice recognition of course. Do not speak any other language so I cannot review them.

EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS IT IS!!!. This app does exactly what it says it does, it records your voice then plays back in another language, not only is it perfectly accurate in the other language! But! It's also able to pick up speech very very accurate too! If you have 1$ it's worth the purchase

Sporatic at best. Not very effective, using a 30 meg down and 20 meg up network and it still wants me to check the network as it can't seem to use any network I have tried

Reduced languages. After I bought this Africaans language disappeared. The one main reason I bought this app and now it's limited for my usage.

Review – feedback:. I currently use a few different language translator apps on my iPhone. I have found this one to be one of the best translator software apps that I have used. I would recommend it to anyone, as it is very easy to use.

Fantastic when it's working. I have found this app very useful for translation. Speak into it and it translates well. Type a word and works too. Only problem is no matter how reliable my connection, the app will intermittently show "please check connection" it can happen at the worst times and just locks in and won't budge no matter how many times you reset it. Again, with perfectly good and reliable connection. Other apps are working wifi on.

Not good. Don't by this app. It was a waste of my time and money! Usually I don't write hate comments which proves how bad this was. I don't want other people falling victims to this and wasting their money as I did. It has no clue what I'm saying in French and keeps giving me bad grades on my confidence. Plus, when I say aider in French it thinks I'm saying Adele. WTH?

Works/connect once in a hundred times - 8/30/2014. It is August 30, 2014, although our internet connection is 100% working and we're using this at home (not out and about), this particular app almost never can connect to its servers. Nice concept, but only 1 star because of severe lack of follow through and almost zero performance.

A COMPLETE DISASTER ~ DON'T BOTHER!!!. Horrible translator !!! (Swedish to English) When the App couldn't decipher words, it would throw an error popup blaming the network connection! What a joke...Don't waste your time.
