Some suggestions. The add-on is powerful, no doubt. I’m just wondering if it's possible to add a web filter feature? Like overlaying a paper-like yellowish colour to the web page, or going into black mode like some other plugins.

Indispensable tool for modern browsing. All Jeff's apps are great and I can't imagine browsing without them. The cross device and cross-platform sync in STM Pro is worth the privce of admission! Now website optsion sync from Mac to iPhone and even to Firefox. STM is good on its own or as a compliment to uBlock Origin (where available) or Ad Guard. And Jeff is very responsive to issues that arise.

Powerful, super useful extension. StopTheMadness Pro is super useful to try to browse the web in a friendly way. It does have a lot of options, but mostly you can ignore than and use the Disable button or Add Site, that’s all.

Doesn't work as Expected. Poorly wriiten documentation. Doesn't work as expected. No discernible difference in website behavior. It's money down the drain.

It just works. This app can do a lot. It fixes a lot of the things I dislike about certain websites.

Absolutely Essenstial! Just buy it, you wont regret it.. This is an amazing extension I literally couldnt use Safari without it. Plus having it on my phone and tablet...game changer. And now it has iCloud sync thank god!!! Wish the UI was a little more...streamlined though. It's a little intimidating at first. But it's not difficult to use at all once you get the hang of it.

Breaks websites. I feel like I have all sorts of problems with websites after installing this extension. Links often time stop working and clicking on them does nothing.

Great App. Does the work of 3-4 apps, better. I love this Safari extension. It does the work of 3-4 other extensions, and more, in a cleaner more efficient way. My only complaint is it’s not (yet?) available on Vision Pro. I installed it on all my Apple devices and my wife’s phone, too. Improves the YouTube experience, automatically removes tracking parameters from all kinds of URLs (incl. Amazon), makes the default web video player work better everywhere, makes sure copy/paste are available, and eliminates lots of little web annoyances. I’ve also explored and it lets me do deeper advanced customizations too— web-wide or site specific. Keep up the good work and bring it to Vision Pro, soon!

Set it and Forget it!. First this is not a support email. This app is easy to install and after installation immediately finds itself in the set it and forget it category. It is worth every penny.

absolutely necessary!. This browser extension syncs across iOS and macOS and protects your info from various privacy violations and your eyes from various annoyances incl trackers and dumber things like webpages that prevent you from copying text or hijack your contextual menus. Luvvit.

Perfect for power users that want control back!. This app provides a ton of "behind-the-scenes" configurability, not only for "all sites", but also on a site-by-site basis. StM lets you fix so many annoyances that are so popular on the web these days. Many thanks to Underpass for not only making this app, but also for making a bundle so us users of StopTheMadness could upgrade to Pro for a reduce price!

The final frontier in privacy extensions. I love you Jeff. It does everything and more. Beyond worth the money, I was spending tens of hours in iOS shortcuts trying to fix half of these functions, lol. Even just for stripping UTM query tracking would be enough for. Includes a persistent hidden element blocker as well.

Stops the web’s greatest scourges. I saw “hide ‘Sign In With Google’ on all websites” and that was all I needed to hit the buy button. Everything else is gravy.

Nice tool for taking back control. Web designers sometimes get aggressive in controlling your use of a site. This app allows you to push back on that behavior and revert to the way a browser ought to work. This is *not* a content blocker, for that you need a separate app. Also look at the same developer's StopTheScript. It is an app you normally don't use but when encountering a site that goes crazy with scripts you can shut them down. Both apps highly recommended.

Tames the web!. App is awesome! Makes the internet much more user friendly. Especially like stopping autoplay videos and the added YouTube controls. I had an issue that ended up being my misunderstanding, but Jeff provided awesome support and got me squared away. This app is well worth the price. Thank you Jeff!

Great update, fair pricing. It's nice to see some of the new features added to SMT Pro, as several are very handy. Thanks to upgrade pricing, going from STM to STM Pro is very reasonably priced. Keep up the great work on a great (the best?) Safari extension out there.

Fixes the internet. This extension makes me curse at my iPhone/iPad/Mac less because of anti-user websites.

Super awesome extension. I rarely rate apps let alone write review but STM Pro is one of those apps that deserve recommendation. It will help ease your browsing experience and provide you with options that doesn't come with regular browser. Kudos to the developer 👍

Great utility. Very handy utility and dev is very responsive!

Seems okay as an ad blocker, fails at video. So I have tried several other ad blockers, they all have some degree of effectiveness but none are perfect. I bought this app because it was recommended to stop videos automatically playing on websites. It doesn’t do this at all. It will, however, keep you from playing a video that you clicked on and want to see. Disclosure: I don’t watch many videos. Maybe weather and an occasional sports highlight. But because this app blocks the useful stuff and doesn’t help with the auto play I will probably go back to a different app.

Very Powerful. Does just about anything you could want when trying to navigate the web nowadays.

Essential browsing tool. Works great across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. All settings sync seamlessly. Stop the Madness assumes some knowledge of how web browers work, but provides a broad set of functionality that takes the annoyance out of using poorly designed (or hostile) web sites and pages. It can customize the display, add logic, and take back control of Safari from websites that just want to make you do it their way. It's a dream.

Invaluable Extension!. I can't speak highly enough of this extension. It offers so many amazing functionalities and vastly improves the overall browsing experience. With all of its features, $15 is an absolute STEAL for a universal purchase covering Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

Breaks a lot of things. The description is very misleading, no trial option. Based on so many good reviews and online research I decided to pay for the all since there is no trial. Now I know that no trial is a red flag. After I installed it I started having issues with the defaults. The more options I turned off the issues disappeared. Overall is not worth the price just for a limited number of websites. Not even google page opens correctly with this enabled. I was looking for a refund and I followed the instructions to file a claim with Apple. Good luck getting a refund since Apple declined the claim twice and now I need ro dispute the charges. Don't buy this app without a trial to make sure it works for your use scenario and that it actually benefits you because it breaks more things than it claims to resolve.

The best-valued app on the app store. The app store is on all of your devices and now this world-class software is, too. It's so pleasing to be able to use the same single purchase whereever I am (be it my iPhone, my Mac or my iPad), and not have to find the version I need for the device I'm on. I love the new features with the new Pro version like iCloud syncing, too.

Thank you!. Lately I have been plagued with obnoxious pop up windows asking me to sign in with Google. You remember, the “Don’t be evil” company. Apple has obviously Cooked up another scheme to make $ with them. This app works where other Ad blockers don’t. Great job!

Outstanding product & support. A hugely customizable tool for getting your browser to work the way you want it to work. And when I have a question, Jeff Johnson is quick to help out. I suspect I use 20% of Stop The Madness’ capabilities and I’m thrilled all the same. I’m at a trust point now where anything he makes is an instant-buy for me.

Essential Extension. StopTheMadness Pro is simply an essential extension to maintain control of your web browsing experience. It's not needed on all sites but when it is - it's incomparable.

Useless, does not work on latest iOS safari. Nine of the features in the latest version of IOS safari work as advertised.

Simple but incredible comprehensive. This is one of my last extension discoveries and I'm just amazed. I love the feature of remove trackers in the URLs which have been driving me crazy, specially when I wanted to c&p that URL somewhere else and was incredible long for no reason.

Configuration is really finicky. I really want to like this app, but getting it to behave properly across all websites is taking up way too much of my time. As an example, nytime.com now disables the “open in the background” capability, and installing this app solves that problem. But google news, which was behaving correctly, now under this app disables background launching. Wading through all the config options for every single site is a non-starter for me.

Can’t use the web without it!. Truly a special extension, and can do almost anything. Its the all in one extension, is a joy for web power users and dev is very responsive. Also a huge fan of the buy once cry once business model. Don’t be scared by the price it’s totally worth it. So far it has replaced vinegar, baking soda, tamper monkey, Ghostery, and a couple other extensions. Universal purchase means it works on Mac, iphone and iPad, and all my rules and settings sync.

Its Worth the Upgrade from Original. The developer has added more functions and refined functions from the original, the menus have many functions listed, to understand them and get a better idea what they do, go to the developers support site and they have a very good listing with explanation, I personaly liked the custom elements as I deal with many different things.

Breaks a lot of websites. The baseline features (eg stop link tracking) ends up breaking a lot of websites on both Mac and iOS to the point where the extension is unusable. Very disappointing given how expensive it is especially compared to similar extensions on the App Store which do similar things. Maybe I’m not tech savvy enough to use this extension to its fullest extent, But it takes so much time to adjust its feature in such way, where the websites work properly. My recommendation would be to have a set of recommended settings that should make websites functional, and then in a sub menu have expert settings to tinker with.

Fantastic!. What a great little bit of software. It's like a swiss army knife for browsing the web on Safari. I does the job of three separate extensions I used before, plus a lot of other functionality. Combined with AdGuard Pro my browsing experience is clean and safe AF. Reach for the lasers! Yeah it costs money. Good software costs money. No one had a problem paying money for software before smartphone apps started accepting personal data instead cash. Now people think they are entitled to have every app for free. You could probably use 4 or 5 separate bloated free extensions that spy on you to get a fraction of the function of Stop the Madness sure, but would it really enhance your overall experience?

Good app but needs work. The new “Pro” app has bugs that don’t seem to get fixed. For example, the “Disable on Page” check box cannot not be checked at all, so I have to temporarily disable the extension when I don’t want it active on a page. Another bug - I have the option “force link into a new active tab” checked for cross-site links, however it’s very unreliable because it only works sometimes.

An excellent all-in-one power tool for Safari. The previous version was great, and this is even better. Rolls up a lot of features into one extension and gives you a lot of little tweaks to help keep yourself sane while browsing. I mostly set-and-forget, but lately I’ve been really happy about the site-specific settings I can set up.

Extension?. The fact that you have to install an browser extension in order to use this software is a problem and if it was made clear BEFORE I purchased, I would not have purchased the software based on an online recommendation I heard. Your privacy statement doesn’t assure privacy for people using the extension, it’s words, that’s all. I will try to get a refund but I suspect Apple will not allow it like they do with most software, and it will be for some arbitrary reason that makes no sense.

Doesn’t work. Blocks content you need and doesn’t block what you don’t. Still getting pop ups to log in to Chrome

Used to work. This extension used to work pretty great but not the default settings which btw is not very user friendly break almost every website. You can’t browse ie nintendo.com without it in an infinite loading loop. At first I thought it was due to AdGuard but it was this app causing the issue. I have since disabled this extension and got wipr 2 instead and now I’m able to load a lot of websites without issues while also still getting things blocked. Stay away from this extension if you use safari.
