The New York State Snowmobile Association(NYSSA) brings an enhanced version of its web application to your pockets, making for a better riding experience than ever. Working both with and WITHOUT mobile data coverage, you will be able to enjoy the app’s functionalities no matter where you are on the trails.
This app gives you access to the following *OFFLINE* features, anywhere, anytime, even in areas without cell coverage:
► See your location on the map through your phone’s GPS signal
► View nearby restaurants, gas stations, hotels, parking, and other services
► Access the trail conditions as per the last data connection available
► See the distance between you and a specific point
► Quickly save and load itineraries
Getting back to a zone with mobile coverage? Enjoy these additional *ONLINE* features :
► Keep an eye on updated trail statuses for the best riding experience
► Easily meet with friends by sharing your position with each other (no one else can see your location)
► Plan out an itinerary and share it with your group

Notes:
►Continued use of the GPS and location sharing running in the background can significantly increase battery consumption. It is recommended to toggle it off when not needed to improve autonomy.

Great for on the trail info. I can see quickly exactly where I am while out on the trails. Unfortunately snowmobile trails are poorly marked and it’s easy to get lost if you’ve not ridden in the area.
Pretty good. The app seems to work well. Trail conditions should be updated more often though.
Levi. Wish it would give reasons for trail closures
Trails won’t load. Downloaded the app, paid for the subscription and not a single trail shows up. Sad to see a navigation app come out and not working properly. Was hoping to use it over the next couple days to ride up north. The new app itself seems like a nicer upgrade to previous year though.
Please duplicate description of hazards. Duplicate the description of hazards and trail closures, especially where they have marked several identical signs for a stretch of trail. Otherwise your left trying to guess which one of the symbols has a full description of what the issue is.
A must for NYS riders. Def worth picking up if your ridding in NY

Looking good!. I’ve have been using the app for a few days now, of course while the trails are closed, I’m limited as to what I can do. Looks like ride planning using the “pro version” will be a nice feature. Can’t wait for hunting season to close, then when clubs open trails, I can see how the nyssa phone app works.

Great improvements this year!!. I can’t tell ya how much we rely on this app. The arrow on the circle to indicate the direction you are facing is so helpful.
Great updates. Very nice app all aspects are great and useful basically like google maps for the snow. Only thing you can do is have turn by turn
Missing one *big* feature.. This app continues to improve every year. But it seems like it lacks one big thing that should be simple to add - audio prompts during turn-by-turn navigation. (Unless I am just missing it. I have not used the 2024 version out on trail yet…). With audio it can be used “heads up” with your phone kept warm in your pocket and connected to a helmet communicator or a wireless earbud. Even something as simple as “turn approaching” would be helpful, but I see no reason why this app couldn’t speak simple directions like every on-road navigation app does.

NYSSA app is awesome. This app is very good. It keeps up with my location even in remote areas. It is very detailed and even has the location of the Turin Ridge Riders weenie roast on 1/18/25.
